What are you doing?

It's her, Bai Yin Ruo,

who killed our chief and brethren.

We must avenge them.

We vow to kill her.

That's enough.

We're not done investigating the truth yet.

We'll talk about it once the investigation is done.

Zi Yuan asked me to look after you before she left.

Is this how you plan to repay her?

Bai Yin Ruo.

You better watch out.

We'll get our revenge some day.

Are you two okay?

Thank you, Mistress. We're fine.

Don't worry.

I'll investigate this matter myself.

Have some rest.

Yin Ruo, you should go back to the capital.

It's safer there.

I won't.

I want to stay until you fully recover.

Why would you do that?

I've made many mistakes in the first place.

I can't just leave like that.

Moreover, I've finally realized that

you're the one who always cares about me.

You've been protecting me all this while.

This time,

let me protect you for a change.

I'll never leave you.

Okay. We'll stay together

forever.

I think Da Li and Da Bao

shouldn't stay at Yinfeng Pavilion.

Why?

Last night, they sneaked into Yang Zhuo's room

wanting to kill Bai Yin Ruo

and avenge Zheng Xiu's death.

Zi Yuan.

Why don't you try talking to them?

I'll go take a look at my brother.

Miss Yue, we understand that Bai Yin Ruo

is your friend. But...

I can understand your feelings.

Even for myself,

I can't find it in me

to forgive Yin Ruo.

But...

Will killing her bring Chief Zheng justice?

The real enemies are Wang Jian and Wang Rong.

You've seen Yang Zhuo's predicament.

He was captured by Wang Jian

and tortured.

He barely made it through those days.

I'm not trying to defend Yin Ruo.

It's just that

Yin Ruo is defenceless.

If it were someone else,

he'd probably do what she did too.

Miss Yue.

We do understand what you're trying to tell us.

We're indeed

reckless last night.

We have caused you trouble.

We're truly sorry.

We're brethens.

Don't say that.

You plan to go back to the capital?

Yes.

In the current situation,

it's more suitable for me to recover in the capital.

Yin Ruo has been taking care of me.

So she'll be following me back too.

Miss Bai.

The matter at Qingfeng Camp is not yet resolved.

You'll be going back too?

I must see that Yang Zhuo fully recovers.

If Qingfeng Camp calls for me,

once his wounds are healed,

I'll let them decide my fate.

Yang Xiao, if you have to blame someone for it,

just come for me then.

Brother, just take care and recuperate.

Till we meet again.

[Tavern]

Yang Xiao, see you again in the capital.

Have a safe journey.

Big Brother Yang.

Please take good care of my cousin.

I know you're injured.

But if she suffers even a little,

I'll make you pay.

Don't worry, Young Master Yuan.

Why isn't Miss Zi Yuan here yet?

She's busy handling some matters.

She can't make it.

I send you her regards.

Yang Xiao, I'm sorry.

As your elder, I made you do something

that's against your will.

I apologize for that.

Brother, I've never blamed you for anything.

Take care and recover well.

Once I'm done with matters here,

I'll head back and visit you.

Miss Bai, please take good care of my brother.

We'll be leaving then.

Let's go.

Yang Xiao, I'll be leaving too.

I'll wait for you at the army camp.

Remember to take Miss Zi Yuan with you.

I've something to discuss with her.

I know.

It's good that they've left.

You won't feel so awkward now.

Although I can't say I forgive her,

I can't find it in me to hate her either.

What else could she have done back then?

If she was killed by Wang Jian,

would I be at peace?

Once matters in Guiyue State are settled,

let's head back to the capital

and talk to her in person.

Alright?

Do you think

they'll be safe

without escorts?

Everything will turn out fine.

Master.

Officer Gu.

You're here.

I was just planning to see you.

Regarding the case of Wang Rong,

Young Lady Mu Yun has obtained some compelling evidence.

Let me explain, Miss Zi Yuan.

Young Lady Mu Yun was very wise.

She managed to place a spy near Manager Qian.

In order to protect his self-interest,

Manager Qian kept many records of Wang Rong and Wang Jian's deeds.

That's right.

I've obtained his ledgers

as well as the letters of Hu Mei Ren.

They were all in this together.

But when he wanted to save his own skin,

he murdered her.

Wang Rong will find out about this soon.

We must act immediately.

Officer Gu, I'll send Xiang Xiang off first.

Alright.

Excuse us.

Wang Rong, as an imperial official,

has embezzled, exploited and oppressed the people.

His crimes are unforgivable.

Show them the ledgers.

Yang Xiao, Yue Zi Yuan.

Take a look for yourselves.

Great.

With these evidence,

and a credible witness,

Wang Rong can't get away this time.

I hope Officer Gu will then notify the imperial court of his crimes

and punish him.

Of course.

And do you have any idea about that credible witness?

That person

is the one who stole the records, Manager Qian.

Manager Qian?

If that's so,

I'll let you take down the witness.

I will pass my token to Yuan Zi Jun

[Token]

so that he can help you

in times of need.

Thank you, Master.

Yin Ruo, have some.

Are you unwell?

I guess I'm a bit tired from the journey.

There's a slope ahead.

Let's take a rest there.

Coachman, please stop the carriage.

Sure.

I'm cold.

Yin Ruo.

It's so cold.

What's wrong?

Cold. It's so cold.

Yang Zhuo, it's so cold. Hold me close.

Yin Ruo, did you catch a cold

because we travelled all night?

Yin Ruo, Yin Ruo.

It feels like

my stomach is crawling with millions of ants.

It hurts.

Yin Ruo, hold on. Just hold on a bit.

On... on our way here,

there was a village nearby.

I'll get you to a physician.

Let's go. Just hold on.

Young Master Yang, Miss Bai.

Physician Duan.

Finally I found you.

You're right on time.

Quickly take a look at her. What's happening to Yin Ruo?

Luckily I got here in time.

It's going to be fine.

Here.

This is...

-What is this? -Give it to her quick.

Yin Ruo.

Did you know, Young Master Yang Zhuo?

Ever since you got hurt,

Miss Bai has been using the poison on herself to try and save you.

Using the poison?

That's right.

Yin Ruo, why did you do that?

I was wondering how much

the human body could endure

after absorbing all that poison.

In order to save you,

Miss Bai willingly took the poison.

In the course of treating you,

she has suffered pain up to five or six times too.

But she'd always overcome it.

Don't worry.

The pill that I gave you just now

is the antidote.

I can't bear seeing

self-sacrifng couples

both suffering in pain.

I'll leave now.

Physician Duan.

Yes, Miss Bai.

Was it Zi Yuan who asked you to save me?

Yes, it was her.

She even promised me

that once you're free of the poison,

she'd return Medicine King Valley back to me.

Please thank Zi Yuan for me.

Sure, I'll let her know.

If that brat decides to go back on her words,

I'll have nothing at all.

Well, hopefully we'll never see each other again.

So don't come pestering me anymore.

Yin Ruo.

Why did you do something foolish like that?

I'd rather die

than letting the slightest harm befall you.

All this while,

you've been the one protecting me.

What I did is nothing worth mentioning at all.

Upon reaching the capital, I don't know

if we'd still able to be together.

But as long as I know my heart is with you,

that'll suffice.

[Wang Residence]

My lord.

My lord. Bad news.

Why are you so tensed? What happened?

My lord.

Some letters and ledgers are missing from the study.

What?

How is that possible?

Could someone have slipped in and stole them?

The study is under tight security.

Outsiders can't easily infiltrate.

Only a few like you have clearance to enter.

You.

Are you hiding something from me?

My lord, I've always been loyal to you.

I'd never betray you.

Never would I hide anything from you.

If it really were my doing,

why would I come to inform you about it?

Please consider my explanation, my lord.

I know you wouldn't dare.

By today,

retrieve all the letters and ledgers.

Should you fail, I'll pin this on you.

Yes, my lord.

I'll get to it now.

Before that,

have Manager Qian look for them too.

Yes, my lord.

Is the intel of Officer Gu even reliable?

Didn't Manager Qian betray your family?

Why did he return out of no reason?

Since there's no further intel,

let's just wait and see.

[Huifu Pavilion]

Go.

You two, go look at the front.

Yes.

[Prosperous and Thriving]

[Confidential, Ledger]

Manager Qian, how have you been?

Manager Qian.

I thought you were just a greedy person.

But I never took you

as Wang Rong's accomplice.

You even betrayed my family.

Someone as treacherous as yourself

definately deserves to die.

Young... Young Master Yang Xiao.

Please spare my life.

I was just clouded by greed.

I... I...

I won't perpetuate any of his evil deeds anymore.

I just want to go home

with all this money.

Weren't you doing pretty well

with Wang Rong?

Why are you in a hurry to leave?

Could it be that

you've betrayed him?

Manager Qian.

We've obtained the physical evidence to apprehend Wang Rong

as well as witness.

Physical evidence?

Witness?

Have you seen your pretty mistress lately?

Young Master Yang Xiao, Miss Yue.

Please spare me.

Fine. Since you're in our hands now,

you'll have to come with us.

Bring those along too.

[Wang Residence]

Guard the main entrance.

Yes.

Officer Gu, what are you doing here?

Wang Rong, Manager Qian has exposed your crimes.

I've notified the capital about you

on the crime of corruption and negligence in your duties.

The evidence is compelling. You'll be detained immediately.

Ridiculous.

With a mere, unruly fellow,

you wish to frame me?

I'm an imperial official.

How dare you!

[Confidential, Ledger, To Hu Mei Ren]

We have both physical evidence and witness.

[Confidential, Ledger, To Hu Mei Ren]

You can't deny.

Lord Wang, he who is unjust is doomed to distruction.

Take him away.

Yes.

Don't touch me.

Yang Xiao, Yue Zi Yuan.

I've underestimated you.

Officer Gu, we did a search and found that

Wang Jian hasn't returned.

What if he tries to escape?

Officer Gu,

leave Wang Jian to us.

We can lure him back here.

[Wang Residence]

With just a letter,

would we really be able to lure Wang Jian back here?

Don't worry.

I added Wang Rong's official seal on it.

Wang Jian will definitely come back.

Miss Zi Yuan, don't worry.

I'll protect you.

I can now dispatch troops and soldiers.

Once this matter is resolved,

I'll join the army.

Once I become a great general,

let's see if Yang Xiao dares bully you anymore.

You're all grown up.

You hear that?

Yes, I heard it.

My lord.

My lord, I received your letter saying that

you've found the missing documents.

Was anything else missing?

Even if there was anything missing,

it's already enough to convict your crimes.

Yang Xiao, Yue Zi Yuan.

I guess enemies are destined to meet some day after all.

Wang Jian, you've helped the wicked to oppress the poor,

killed my sworn brother, Zheng Xiu,

and massacred many brethrens of Qingfeng Camp.

In all those years with Wang Rong,

you must've committed so many wicked deeds.

Now that Wang Rong is detained by the law,

you won't get away either.

You expect me to submit to your arrest?

Dream on.

Wang Jian, as the accomplice of Wang Rong,

you're as guilty as him.

Arrest him!

If he resists, kill him immediately.

Yes.

[Guiyue State]

[To Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Armed Escort Chief Yue.

I hope you and Yang Xiao can assist Lieutenant Wu

to deliver prisoner Wang Rong back to the capital.

I guess this counts as Shenwei Armed Escorts'

first business trip ever since the new trade route is open.

I shall rely

upon your protection along the way.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Mu Yun, now that you've gotten your revenge,

what's next for you?

I'll focus on managing Fengya Pavilion and Yinfeng Pavilion.

When the time comes,

I'll open other branches along the new trade route,

earn a lot of money and become a wealthy lady.

If that's the plan,

we must collaborate with you.

If not, how am I ever going to regain Shenwei Armed Escorts'

reputation as the best armed escort agency in the country?

Officer Gu, see you again in the capital.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Alright.

[Guiyue State]
