LOVE AND REDEMPTION

Episode 54 Subbed by Productive Procrastination

I’m giving you this scroll containing my knowledge of medicine.

Your cultivation is not high

so if you encounter a powerful demon don’t do anything beyond your capability.

Safety comes first.

Young Master Yi.

I am very grateful you left something

for me to remember you with.

Ever since I first saw you

I knew that I am not worthy

to be with Young Master Yi.

The only entanglement

I can have with him is to be his unofficial disciple.

Chu Xuanji.

If one day you marry

please give me an invitation.

No matter how far away you are,

I will go and congratulate you.

Ok.

Young Master Yi,

go then.

I hope in the future

everything goes well for you.

I will pray for your good fortune.

Miss Ah-Lan,

take care.

Greetings Dijun.

Guards.

Throw Teng She in the prison.

Dijun!

What crime did I commit to deserve to be thrown in prison?

Take a look around you.

The evil aura of the God of War is so strong.

It could not be subdued even in 1000 years.

I’m sure you heard about the bloody storm

the God of War caused back then.

And now,

I only sent the 4 celestial beasts to arrest her,

yet you try to stop them

and stood on God of War’s side.

What?

You want to betray the Heavenly Realm too?

So that she becomes the threat of the Heavenly Realm

and repeat the tragedy 1000 years ago?

I was only helping the God of War deal with the situation.

I only did that out of honor.

I do not plan to rebel against Heaven!

Is that true?

You stole the jade tablet from my bedchamber,

went to the Mortal Realm to inform the God of War of it,

ruining my plan to instruct the God of War to destroy the Crystal Lamp.

Is that not a betrayal?

Getting the God of War to destroy the lamp?

Is it very strange?

Teng She.

You suspected my identity long ago.

I only used an illusion spell

so that you could not recognize me.

Just as I expected.

Oh yes.

Dijun.

As you have been in her company

for 20 years in the Mortal Realm

you should know she is kind and pure.

She won’t oppose the Heavenly Realm.

Why do you have to kill her?

She’s kind and pure?

As you’ve read the jade tablet,

you should know her true identity.

She only has kindness,

but she’s missing the chance to be otherwise.

But the arrogance and selfishness within her

has never changed.

I once tried to assist and save her

but she is hard to assist.

I wasted my time on her.

It’s hard to get rid of her devil tendencies.

Her evilness is hard to do away with.

There is no doubt she will plunge the Three Realms in chaos.

Right now

she plans to open the Crystal Lamp.

If we let her live,

then the ones under threat is the Heavenly Realm.

I did read the jade tablet

but it was incomplete.

I do not understand

why the jade tablet said

that the Mosha Star is destroyed

and the God of War was born from that death.

I don’t understand why it said that the God of War

and the Mosha Star share the same primordial spirit.

Is there a mistake

in it?

You ask too many questions.

You only need to know

that whether it’s the Mosha Star or God of War,

we should get rid of them as long as they are a threat.

And you...

if you dare to stand up for the God of War again,

your outcome will be the same.

Qing Long.

Here.

Take Teng She to the prison.

Yes.

Chu Xuanji.

I know your motive for going to Mount Shaoyang.

As you plan to open the Crystal Lamp to destroy the Three Realms,

then do not blame me for my ruthlessness.

Ahead is the Shaoyang Sect.

In my opinion as mighty demons we should see you off here.

We might upset the mood.

Sifeng,

when you see you father-in-law,

remember to behave properly

so that he can give his daughter to you.

Don’t worry Brother Wu.

When I receive good news

I will deliver a letter to you right away.

Good we’ll wait here for your good news.

Go now.

Wu Zhiqi.

Where are you going?

Handle some private business.

You think I don’t know?

I saw you and Xuanji muttering something.

Do you plan to open the Crystal Lamp?

So what?

I forbid you from going!

Why do you have to turn the situation

so bad it’s beyond redemption?

Even if we do nothing,

the deities from the Heavenly Realm will still kill us!

And then we’ll be beyond redemption.

Be good and wait for me.

Little Fox.

Please help me take care of her.

Something big is going to happen.

Find a place to hide.

Wu Zhiqi!

Senior Sister Xuanji,

you are back?

This is...

We’re here to celebrate my father’s birthday.

Senior Sister.

Please let us inform them.

One is your senior sister

the other is the savior of Shaoyang.

Why do you need to inform them?

Linglong.

Xuanji!

You’re finally back.

-Father’s banquet has started. -Sifeng.

-I was worried you couldn’t make it. -How are you?

Let’s go.

Senior Sister Linglong.

What Senior Sister?

Without these two our Mount Shaoyang would’ve been burnt down.

Let’s go.

I’m so glad that you could come back together.

We have someone to talk to.

However Sifeng’s complexion doesn’t look good.

Perhaps we traveled too far so he’s too tired.

With your cultivation

even is you fly to the corners of the earth you’ll be fine.

Is something troubling you?

Actually we came back today

apart from celebrating Father’s birthday,

we want to ask Father to let us marry.

Truly?

After going through so much,

this day finally came.

Don’t be so happy.

Father hasn’t agreed yet.

Father is usually quite strict

but he dotes on us alot.

I’m sure he’ll agree if you beg him.

Let’s go.

Sifeng.

The last time the 4 of us visited Mount Shaoyang together

was many years ago.

Let’s use this chance to catch up properly.

I’ve saved up many flasks of good wine just to wait for your return.

Let’s borrow your kitchen and I’ll cook some food to go with it.

Let’s drink ourselves to stupor.

That’s for the best.

Sifeng.

You look as if you struggle with each step.

Have you not recovered yet?

Yes.

But it’s fine.

Sifeng.

I’m sorry.

Why are you suddenly apologizing to me?

I suspected you before

and as your friend I didn’t believe you or support you.

But you...

did so much for everyone secretly.

I feel so guilty.

We lived in trouble times

of course you should be more wary.

If it was me,

I would do that too.

No need to feel any guilt.

We’re all fine now right?

Oh yes.

I haven’t congratulated you and Linglong yet on your marriage.

Our love met a happy end,

but when will it be your turn?

Are you here this time to...

You’ll know very soon.

Let’s go.

Sifeng.

Don’t leave now you’re here.

Sifeng.

Xuanji told me you plan to marry.

Before because of Tianxu Sect and the demons

I was deeply prejudiced.

I said so many bad things about you to Xuanji.

So now...

I want to apologize to you.

You and Minyan are so like-minded.

You keep apologizing to me.

I can’t digest that.

Alright.

It’s all in the past.

Thankfully after all these storms have passed

and the 4 of us

are together again.

Luckily we’re still together.

Today is a happy day, let’s not talk about the past.

Let’s go and wish Father a happy birthday.

Let’s go.

We wish Sect Leader Chu to have fortune

as vast as the east sea and a lifespan as long as the south mountain.

Have fortune as vast as the east sea and a lifespan as long as the south mountain.

Thank you everyone.

Cheers!

Father!

Father!

Look who is here.

Father.

Father.

I am back.

I wish Father to have fortune,

a long lifespan and be safe and well.

Good.

I’m glad you’re back.

I am very pleased.

Sifeng wished Sect Leader Chu a happy birthday.

Isn’t this the new Chief

of that demon lair the Lize Palace,

Yu Sifeng, Warrior Yu?

Why is he here?

After all, he helped our Shaoyang Sect.

He also protected the Crystal Lamp.

But he’s still a demon!

We cultivating sect get rid of demons

yet a demon comes to gives his blessings.

Do you want us to eat and drink with a demon?

The few of you

follow me.

Father.

What do you mean by this?

Sifeng saved Shaoyang.

Yet for a talk

you take us to this antechamber.

Surely the conduct of the Shaoyang Sect is better than this?

Although it’s quiet here

it’s easier to talk here.

It’s fine.

It’s quiet here.

It’s more comfortable to talk here.

Xuanji,

you’ve lost weight.

Now that you’re back

stay here.

Your father and your sister misses you.

Thank you Father.

Only...

I came back to wish you a happy birthday

and to also ask you for a favor.

If you agree

then I am willing to stay here to keep you company.

What is it?

I ask Father

to allow me and Sifeng to marry.

Sect Leader Chu

Xuanji and I

have long loved each other.

I ask Sect Leader Chu

to give us your blessing.

Regarding this...

it’s an important matter.

I need to consider carefully.

Father.

Sifeng risked his life for Xuanji countless times.

No one in the world loves Xuanji more than him.

Marriage is not child’s play.

How can I just agree?

You’re being unfair!

When Xiao Liuzi asked to marry me

you agree right away.

How can Minyan be compared to Yu Sifeng?

Xuanji...

I need to think about it some more.

Father.

You still mind that Sifeng is a demon, right?

It’s fine.

I will not force you.

But I only want to tell you,

in this lifetime

I will not marry anyone but Sifeng.

Xuanji...

I know you two love each other deeply.

But just now,

you heard all the talk outside right?

I know

Sifeng is a good child

and Shaoyang owes him a debt too.

But he is

a demon and not a mortal.

You are still young.

You don’t know how powerful talk is.

I fear that you will suffer

in the future.

Father.

I understand many things now.

In one lifetime,

you will get to meet many people.

But there are only a few that are important.

The only people I care about

is Father,

Linglong and 6th Senior Brother.

As long as you don’t mind,

Sifeng and I will not suffer.

Sect Leader,

the guests are waiting to drink with you.

It’s easy to think about it but hard to do it.

It’s the same with cultivation

and how to be a mortal too.

You two get up first.

Regarding this...

Let’s discuss this later.

Sifeng!

It seems it’ll be hard to get your father’s permission.

Don’t over think it.

I think Master just can’t accept it for now.

He’ll be fine with time.

Yes Sifeng.

We will help you persuade Father.

It’s fine Sifeng.

I’ve thought about it.

If Father agrees,

I will marry you at Shaoyang.

If he doesn’t agree,

then let’s marry somewhere far away.

Sifeng.

Sifeng!

Did you pull on an old injury?

I’ll go ask Aunt Yinghong to take a look at Sifeng.

No need.

Err...

I know how Sifeng’s health is like.

He’s worn out from traveling.

Go and attend Father’s birthday banquet, it’s fine.

Let’s go now.

Then we’re leaving now.

Sifeng!

Sifeng endure it!

Let me help you suppress the deflective power.

Dijun.

You want us to set up the great formation of the falling star

to attack Mount Shaoyang in the Mortal Realm?

Exactly.

The great formation of the falling star

uses the light of stars as a catalyst.

All life under it will perish.

Mountains will flatten, rivers dried up.

Don’t you think it’s a bit too much

to do that to the Mortal Realm?

No.

The God of War is at Mount Shaoyang.

She will open the Crystal Lamp soon.

By then the Mosha Star will be revived

and the Three Realms will be in chaos.

I set up this formation

only to stop the God of War.

Once we set up this formation,

the God of War will not be the only one under it.

It will cover Mount Shaoyang entirely.

You plan to sacrifice thousands of lives with her?

It’s a bit too much.

Indeed.

Can’t you think of another way?

Over these few days

I weighed many different options.

But the God of War and the Crystal Lamp

are not mortal beings/objects.

Anything else cannot stop them.

That’s why

the great formation of the falling star is my only option.

In drastic times

we must resort to drastic measures.

Even if I must bury the entire Shaoyang deep in the mountains,

kill thousands of beings unjustly,

it’s better than to revive the Mosha Star,

plunging the Three Realms in chaos.

The Heavenly Emperor did not want us to involve ourselves

with the God of War as this arose from that reason.

Shouldn’t you ask the Heavenly Emperor’s

permission before doing this?

I don’t have time.

The God of War is about to open the Crystal Lamp.

If the Heavenly Emperor questions us

I will bear the consequences.

Please can you help me in setting up the formation,

wipe out Mount Shaoyang,

reseal the Crystal Lamp

and kill Chu Xuanji.

Yes.

What are you doing here?

Come to mock at me?

What are you doing?

A dragon scale for you.

Keep it.

The exit to Heaven is closed.

If you want to go to the Mortal Realm you have to cross the Heavenly fire.

This scale will assist you.

Why would I go there?

Didn’t Dijun punish me?

Once you reach the Mortal Realm hurry and find Chu Xuanji

tell her to not think about the Crystal Lamp.

Leave Shaoyang right away.

Do not delay.

What do you mean?

Explain to me.

Dijun has ordered the 7 emperors of the north sky to set up the great formation of the falling stars.

He plans to sacrifice Mount Shaoyang

to kill Chu Xuanji

and seal the Crystal Lamp forever.

What did you say?

I heard it myself.

It’s the truth.

The 7 emperors have gone now.

If you don’t go

Chu Xuanji will die.

If she dies,

then you will die too.

I can’t watch you die like this.

Hurry and go.

Qing Long.

If I make it back alive,

I will invite you for a drink to thank you.

What do you think Pretty God of War?

Start?

He used his life to protect the Crystal Lamp,

but I have to open it now.

Even if he blames me for it,

I still have to do this.

Wu Zhiqi,

in a bit I’ll tear open a hole.

Please stabilize it.

That way when I retrieve it

the stones will not be alerted.

Don’t worry.

Although the Juntian Cehai

and the 12 feathers are powerful

but I...

can stabilize it for a bit.

We got it.

Let’s go.

Sifeng.

Why did you do this?

I...

Sifeng.

I already saw

what you went through in the Heavenly Realm

to the past 9 lifetimes.

I saw how much time we lost.

We finally met again in this lifetime,

I don’t want to give up like this.

I don’t want anything to happen to you.

Give me the Crystal Lamp.

I need to open it.

Xuanji I’m sorry.

The Crystal Lamp cannot be opened.

I will not give it to you.

Unless you kill me.

You!

-Sifeng! Sifeng! -Sifeng!

Brother Wu take care of Sifeng.

I’ll go chase the Crystal Lamp.

Ok.

Xuanji....

Sifeng.

Are you ok?

Brother Wu stop her.

Do not let her stop the Crystal Lamp.

Sect Leader Chu,

-please strike the longevity bell. -This way.

Hurry and go!

Mortals from Shaoyang

Dijun Bai Lin plans to sacrifice the entire Mount Shaoyang to reseal the Crystal Lamp.

If you don’t go you’ll be buried alive! Hurry and go!

Xuanji!

Why did you take out the Crystal Lamp?

Father.

I need to save Sifeng.

Xuanji!

Hurry and run!

Why are you back?

Don’t worry about me.

Hurry and leave with these mortals!

Dijun has made the order...

-Teng She! -Hurry and run!

Teng She! Teng She!

Bai Lin?

Are you Bai Lin?

Where did you take Teng She?

You snatched the Crystal Lamp?

Teng She went to the Mortal Realm without permission

and revealed the secret of Heaven, his crimes are unforgivable!

As for the Crystal Lamp,

what do you plan to do with it?

Did you forget the vow you made?

What pledge did I make with you?

I don’t remember you!

Really?

Xuanji,

you promised me you would destroy the Crystal Lamp

destroy the Mosha Star’s stellar soul

you promised you would sacrifice everything for all life!

Do you still remember?

This voice...

What you’re saying was clearly...

Promise me!

Destroy the Crystal Lamp.

Do not let the demons have this chance!

Promise me!

Promise me!

You insist on opening the Crystal Lamp

forgetting everything I taught you.

Today I am here

to punish you for overturning the Three Realms

and bringing harm to all life in the world!

Hao Chen?

-Senior Hao Chen? -You...

Senior Hao Chen?

Aren’t you dead?

Why are you here?

Hao Chen?

That was merely my mortal identity

when I came to the Mortal Realm.

I am Dijun Bai Lin!

Heavenly Emperor!

Bai Lin?

Senior Hao Chen....

Even now

you still refuse to repent your ways!

You hate the Heavenly Realm for lying and deceiving you.

You want revenge.

Right?

Do you think I can forgive you?

For the peace of the Three Realms.

I cannot leave you alive.

Divine execution!

Turns out you were Dijun Bai Lin!

Why?

Why did you lie to me?

Lie to you?

I even came down to the Mortal Realm

found myself a mortal body in order to teach you.

I only hope you could walk on the right path again and regain your celestial status.

I did that for you,

to stop the tragedy of today.

But you...

it’s impossible to assist you!

You wasted all my effort to help you!

In the end you could not even keep

the promise you made to me.

Not only do you refuse to destroy the Crystal Lamp

you plan to open it

releasing the Mosha Star’s stellar soul.

To you, Hao Chen

and the kinship we shared as senior and junior

was worth nothing in your heart.

What about you?

Do you truly think of me as your junior sister?

Or perhaps everything you did was simply to help me regain my position?

You used me…

used the guilt and sadness I felt for Senior Hao Chen’s passing

forcing me to point my sword at Sifeng!

You forced me to swear to destroy the Crystal Lamp

even if I will die!

To me

what kind of senior are you?

That is your obligation!

If you care about our kinship

you would’ve listened to me

and follow Heaven’s will.

Then today’s tragedy will not happen.

Just as I expected.

Before this

you purposefully accused Sifeng.

I even felt immense guilt

for not fulfilling

Senior Hao Chen’s dying wish.

But in the end,

I am merely your pawn.

How dare you argue back!

You disappoint me so much!

I’ve given you so many chances

yet you keep defying Heaven’s will.

So today

I will sacrifice Mount Shaoyang

and trigger this great formation of the falling star

to bury you with the Crystal Lamp!

What did you say?

Please show us mercy!

Please spare us mercy Your Majesty!

Stop!

I was the one who wanted to open it!

I was the one who defied Heaven’s will!

If you want to punish someone punish me!

Why are you killing these innocents for?

Chu Xuanji.

You brought this catastrophe because of your love,

how dare you ask me why?

As soon as the Crystal Lamp is opened

the Mosha Star will reappear

and the world will be destroyed.

Your obsession remains

and that will bring calamity to the Three Realms.

Then I

can only destroy all of this before it has occurred.

Stop!

I only want to save a life!

After I save Sifeng

I will reseal the Mosha Star!

I am the God of War!

I can capture him once,

I can capture him a 2nd time!

Impossible.

Why?

Right now the Crystal Lamp is prepared

there is no longer a magical artifact that exists that can seal the Mosha Star.

Only with the destruction of Mount Shaoyang can it be prevented.

Remember,

today’s tragedy

occurred because of you.

These people

died because of you!

What’s that?

Oh no.

It’s the power of the Heavenly Realm.

You must not go!

If you go you’ll be delivering yourself to death!

I-Is this something you are a match for?

But...

If I guess correctly,

that’s the great formation of the falling star.

What kind of formation is that?

Stinky monkey is still there!

What will happen to him?

Don’t fret.

Just a minor formation

it can’t trap that stinky monkey.

Besides didn’t he say before he left?

Told us to take good care of you.

He’ll be fine.

That’s what he said?

You once taught me to care about all life

then why are you killing everyone now,

killing innocents?

Sometimes when one protects the safety of the Three Realms sacrifices have to be made.

Rather than release the Mosha Star,

bringing misery to all life

it’s better to sacrifice Shaoyang

and gain peace for eternity.

Today the people of Shaoyang may sacrifice their lives

but it will bring them fortune in the future.

Ridiculous!

You’re a superior Heavenly Emperor of course you view the lives of us mortals as worthless as grass!

Back then at the Xuyang Peak

I was taught by you for so many years,

so no matter what you think of me,

to me those memories

are precious.

I thank you for caring care of me for so many years.

Starting from now on,

our kinship ends here.

And I will not let you touch Shaoyang!

Today I will fight one on one with you!

Chu Xuanji.

As you insist on siding with demons and devils

defying my will,

then I can only end this with you today!

Xuanji!

Xuanji!

Xuanji!

Sifeng!

Sifeng!

Sifeng!

Sifeng!

Sifeng how are you?

Sifeng!

How could this happen?

What’s going on?

Not good.

This has triggered the Juntian Cehai to increase in power!

Sifeng is heavily injured.

I fear he cannot suppress its strength!

No....

I have to save Sifeng.

Give me the Crystal Lamp.

No!

You must not open it!

Promise me!

Sifeng!

You have to open the Crystal Lamp.

Yuan Lang?

You’re not dead?

I am not here to argue with you.

I am here to tell the God of War the truth.

Xuanji...

Don’t listen to him.

He’s here to trick you

into lifting the seal on the lamp.

Don’t listen to him...

General God of War.

Do you know why

when you plan to touch the lamp

Dijun Bai Lin would even take up arms to stop you?

You finally know the truth.

Chu Xuanji.

The God of War is the Mosha Star.

The Mosha Star is the God of War.

I’m the Mosha Star?

Right.

You’re the Mosha Star.

The stellar soul in the Crystal Lamp is yours!

Female God of War.

-No... -Yuan Lang!

Shut up!

Only the Mosha Star

can lift the seal on the Crystal Lamp.

No.

You’re lying to me.

You’re lying to me!

Xuanji!

You’re lying to me!

The murals in the Devil’s Capital clearly show the truth.

Otherwise why do you think

Yu Sifeng impersonated the reincarnation of the Mosha Star?

Xuanji...

It’s not like that.

Don’t believe him.

He wishes to destroy the Three Realms.

He has ulterior intentions.

Don’t believe him!

Since I was little,

all of you told me to get rid of the devils to protect the righteous path.

Turns out the biggest devil in the world

is me.

Impossible.

Impossible!

Impossible!

-Xuanji… -Impossible!

If you don’t believe it,

ask the Dijun.

He lied to the Mosha Star

and extracted the Mosha Star’s stellar soul.

He cut out 2 ribs of the Mosha Star, turning them into weapons

and sealed the Mosha Star’s

stellar soul into the Crystal Lamp.

Then he used his body to make the God of War.

And the God of War’s heart...

was merely a small corner of the Crystal Lamp Dijun Bai Lin cut from the lamp.

Demon!

You’ve been insolent for too long!

What he said...

What he said...is it the truth?

It’s fine even if you know.

He’s right.

But this will all end now.

So from the start,

the mighty devil you wanted to get rid of was me.

That’s so laughable.

Then what is the God of War?

Bai Lin!

Why did you do this?

Why did you do this to me?!

For the Three Realms.

You stopped me from retrieving the 6 senses

so that I will have no feelings or thoughts

so that I can become your puppet!

Only you have no heart,

will you not be influenced or led astray by resentment.

And the Three Realms can have peace.

I never expected that even after 9 tribulations

the evil aura from your resentment did not dissipate.

In this lifetime you even gained mortal love because of Yu Sifeng.

I cannot let you become a devil.

Sifeng! Sifeng!

Sifeng!

Sifeng!

Let’s see how the Crystal Lamp can be opened!

No!

I would rather die than let you become a devil because of me!

Sifeng!

I don’t care anymore!

I want to save you!

Whether I am the Mosha Star or the God of War

I don’t care!

I only want you to be well!

Sifeng!

If I become Luohou Jidu

do not forget about me!

Remember to bring me back!

Xuanji!

Xuanji!

l am willing to drink wine

and talk to you every day.

I am sorry.

Luohou Jidu.

I will give you life.

And in this life

you will fight for me

and the Heavenly Realm.

Luohou Jidu!

Why are you killing your own clansmen?

Where are you going?

Xuanji.

Life is so ludicrous.

This belongs to Chu Xuanji.

Starting from now on,

she has nothing to do with me.

Where are you going?

I’m going back to the place that I belong.

I have to take back what I lost 1000 years ago.

Xuanji don’t go!
