"The Twin Flower Legend"

Episode 8

I heard that this coldest creature can lower down the temperature.

Didn't Mr. Han keep many Jin Bu Lis in order,

to treat Young Lord Fei Bai's poisonous wounds?

That is the coldest creature.

It has unparalleled coldness.

It should be useful for Bi Ying.

Why did you catch this poisonous Jin Bu Li?

I need it to save a live.

-I see. You're a thief. -I'm not stealing.

I'm begging you. Can you return the Jin Bu Li to me?

What is this if it's not stealing?

I...

It's extremely poisonous. Do you have a death wish?

Who are you? What do you do?

I'm Young Lord Fei Jue. Don't you know me?

Just because you said so doesn't make you one.

Mo Chou Lake is the protective lake of Xi Feng Court.

The water is filled with poisonous water snakes raised by Han Xiu Zhu.

You have quite some nerve.

You're not afraid of being discovered by Han Xiu Zhu,

or being bitten by the poisonous snakes.

What are you looking at?

I have red eyes. So what?

You're a servant. How dare of you to stare at me?

I'm sorry, Young Lord Fei Jue.

I merely think that,

your eyes look a lot like the colour of grape wine.

It's very nice.

How does a servant know about the grape wine of Gong Yue?

I heard from my father when I was little.

The grape wine is dark red in colour.

It's deep and translucent. It's very beautiful.

The fragrance of Sophora flowers.

You have a sharp sense of smell.

I have the habit of eating fresh flowers since I was young.

So, I eat a lot of Sophora flowers in the spring.

That's why my body has the fragrance of Sophora flowers.

Don't touch me.

Trying to push me into the water to be bitten by the water snakes?

I merely wanted to help to remove this.

One who suddenly fawns over you must be harbouring some evil intentions.

You must have been sent by Madam Lian to assassinate me.

-Young Lord Fei Jue, don't... -No physical contact.

-Why are you so shameless? -Young Lord Fei Jue.

Don't step back...

Pull me up.

Young Lord Fei Jue, no physical contact between men and women.

I shall take my leave.

-Hey, don't go! -Hey!

Mr. Han.

Bi Ying?

Bi Ying, why are you up?

I'm going to make you some medicinal soup.

Mu Jin.

I forbid you from risking your life for me again.

All right. Let's get inside first.

Come on.

"Rong Bao Hall"

Ms. Yuan was here earlier.

She requested for you to go to Li Rui Pavilion,

to fill Yao Bi Ying's spot.

I didn't expect you to have such capability.

Madam, please examine it.

Ever since I came to Rong Bao Hall,

I've dedicated myself to work for madam.

I'll not be disloyal.

Ms. Yuan...

merely gains his Lordship's favour.

As for me, I have the entire Lian Family to back me up.

His Majesty has bestowed me with so many things.

By serving whom as your master will grant you a better future?

Madam is the second highest in command in Zi Yuan.

It's good that you know that.

When you get to Li Rui Pavilion,

keep this in mind.

You're a servant of Rong Bao Hall.

If you break the rules...

I'll still exercise the family rules.

I won't let you off easily.

Don't worry, madam.

All right. You're dismissed.

Yes.

Madam, it wasn't easy for me to get Hua Jin Xiu under control.

Why did you let her go?

You should know well how did you assert control over her.

You'd better behave from now on.

If your dirty little actions ruin my family's reputation,

I'm not going to spare you.

"Wu"

Ming Lei, are you looking for me?

Yes.

Why did you ask me here?

I heard that you're assigned to Ms. Yuan now.

You asked me here in the middle of the night for this?

You go over to Li Rui Pavilion right after Bi Ying left.

Isn't that too much of a coincidence?

You suspect that I set Bi Ying up?

Bi Ying is my sister!

Besides, I was doing just fine at Rong Bao Hall.

Why would I want to leave?

Why would you suspect me?

Ever since we were little,

have I ever done anything wrong to Xiao Wu Yi?

Jin Xiu.

You address Bi Ying as your sister.

I hope you truly understand the meaning of this word.

From now on, the five of us will be sworn brothers and sisters.

We'll go through hardships together.

We'll not forsake anyone for the rest of our lives.

Hua Jin Xiu, you're a jerk!

This is the medicine that Young Lord Fei Bai usually takes.

This flower...

It's cicada flower that grows in the underground palace.

As long as it comes into contact with a slight poison,

the petals will turn grey.

It's the candle!

Mr. Han, please pass this to Dr Lin.

This is what a home is like.

Awesome.

Mu Jin, you're really capable.

Don't mention it.

Is there anything that I can do to help?

No need. Just take a seat.

Mu Jin, you've done so much for me.

Let me help you.

I'm not a useless person.

What? Why would you be a useless person?

You're a great person!

What are you doing?

I want to help you.

I've told you. Let me do it.

Just take a seat.

Take a seat!

You've been waiting for a long time, right?

Tell me. Do you have any good news for madam?

Everyone in the mansion is preparing for the martial arts competition.

Same goes for Young Lord Fei Qing and Ms. Yuan.

That's all.

Greetings, madam.

-Greetings, Madam Lian. -Greetings, Madam Lian.

Fei Bai looks much better now.

I wonder what brings you here to Rong Bao Hall today.

Jin Xiu, come over.

Get on your knees.

Fei Bai, what are you doing?

Young Master Fei Bai.

I merely gave some martial arts advice,

to this servant in Yue Gui Garden.

Young Lord Fei Bai, is there a misunderstanding?

Mr. Liu.

You ignored the family rules.

Does Zi Yuan belong to the Liu Family?

I'm a reputable advisor of the Lian Family.

Young Lord Fei Bai, how could you,

humiliate me without distinguishing between right and wrong?

Young Lord Fei Bai.

The servants in Zi Yuan...

do their utmost to keep climbing up the ladder.

Don't just listen to one side of the story.

Liu Yan Sheng.

-Get up. -Yes.

I've always led an honest life.

I was swayed by this lowly maid servant's rhetoric.

She seduced me.

Is that so?

If so, I have to quickly inform my father.

Let the people from Shen Xing Hall investigate this.

I believe that it's not just Rong Bao Hall...

or the reputation of Lian Family that will be implicated.

There's no need to alarm his Lordship in matters related to the servants.

Fei Bai, don't get anxious because of such trivial matters.

You should recuperate.

Trash!

I warn you for the last time.

I can let you ride on my success and take it away at the same time.

Yes.

Mr. Han.

Don't worry.

No one will bully you anymore.

Thank you for saving my life.

Each time I ran into Young Lord Fei Bai,

is the time where I was at the lowest point of life.

One has to keep looking forward.

Also,

don't address yourself as a servant in front of me.

Don't get upset because of the past.

Because I like to see you smile.

Gosh! It's huge.

Fei Yan, don't move. Stand firmly.

What is this?

Fei Yan, it's Seven-star Cranes.

They're fiercer than wolves.

Yu Fei Yan.

Why would it be you?

Why are the two of you here in Xi Feng Court?

Young Lord Fei Bai, Mr. Han.

I brought my brother here to get the plum blossoms.

The plum blossoms here are beautiful.

So, I wanted to sell them to fetch a good price.

Bi Ying is sick.

I wanted to buy some supplements for her to replenish her body.

Mr. Han, don't listen to her nonsense.

I was the one who dragged her along to steal the plum blossoms.

Hey, we have only this much of plum blossoms here.

It's all taken by you.

No matter the punishment, it won't bring the plum blossoms back.

Besides, I even got beaten up.

That day, I was feeding Jin Bu Lis by Mo Chou Lake.

I realised two are missing.

After conducting the investigation,

I found out that they were stolen by you as well.

Young Lord Fei Bai, Mr. Han.

It's my fault for not educating my sister.

Mu Jin is being mischievous. It's all on me for not educating her.

You can just punish me for that.

Fei Yan, it has nothing to do with you.

Keep quiet.

Young Lord Fei Bai, Mr. Han.

Just punish me will do.

The people in Xi Feng Court...

will never punish the loyal and righteous servants.

Get up.

The plum blossoms in your hand is called rouge plum.

It blooms only once in a decade.

Since you broke it,

stay in Xi Feng Court to look after it.

I'm willing to accept the punishment.

Mr. Han, could you give me a few days' time?

I'm unable to leave the store room now.

You even try to bargain?

Not being grateful for the kindness shown.

I'm not trying to bargain.

Ever since my parents passed away,

my siblings are my family.

Bi Ying is sick now.

I need to look after her.

Young Lord Fei Bai, I seek for your kind understanding.

But the plum blossoms were planted by the late Madam Xie herself.

It doesn't bloom every year.

Can you afford to compensate it?

What if I can make it bloom abundantly in the yard?

You aren't aware.

Mr. Han has been taking care of the rouge plum for ten years.

He managed to grow only a few branches of them.

You actually have the nerve to talk big.

I'm willing to give it a try.

If you can honour your word,

not only I won't blame you for that,

I'll also find the best physician to treat your sister.

Is that true?

Young Lord Fei Bai is a man of his word.

But what if you couldn't do what you said?

If I fail to accomplish it,

I'll be at your disposal.

Fei Yan, Mu Jin.

Ming Lei.

What's the matter?

You ask her.

I wanted to go to Xi Feng Court to steal some plum blossoms,

and sell them to make some money.

But unexpectedly,

we were chased and pecked by the Seven-star Cranes.

There's such good stuff? Why didn't you ask me along?

-Good stuff? -What's so good about it?

I was chased and pecked by the Seven-star Cranes.

Ming Lei is good looking and graceful. He wouldn't do such a thing.

Well, it's best for Fei Yan and I to do such a thing.

Next time, I'll help to keep watch.

I'll bribe those cranes too.

Ming Lei, looking for Bi Ying?

Fei Yan.

Bi Ying might be asleep.

Mu Jin.

This is the Ginseng Nourishing Pill.

Give it to her in my stead.

But don't tell her it's from me.

Why can't we tell her that it's from you?

Because I keep giving Bi Ying gifts.

Bi Ying said that,

if I give her things again,

she'll send it back to the West Battalion.

Ming Lei is so nice to Bi Ying.

That's right.

Bi Ying, your favourite osmanthus cake.

Thank you, Ming Lei.

I'm leaving.

Don't wake Bi Ying up.

Wait for a while more. Let her sleep for a little longer.

Let's talk outside.

Mu Jin, tell me the truth.

Do you really have a way to make the rouge plum bloom?

I don't want to see you being punished anymore.

Fei Yan, I have my own way.

But don't ever let Bi Ying know about tonight's incident.

She's a sensitive person. She'll think too much.

It's getting late.

Keep it properly.

I have to go.

Fei Yan, be safe.

Ming Lei, why are you back?

Did anything happen?

Did any stranger come to see Bi Ying?

No, it's just me and Bi Ying here.

Ming Lei, why did you suddenly ask that?

I'm glad you're safe.

Perhaps, I mistaken it.

Mu Jin.

Bi Ying is weak now. Keep her company.

Ming Lei, don't worry.

My Lord.

I just got back and heard that,

Yao Bi Ying is assigned to the store room.

Bi Ying will never steal things.

She's one of the Sixth Child.

She shouldn't be sent to the store room.

I have to arrange Yao Bi Ying...

and place her at that remote store room on purpose.

I'm doing this...

to draw someone out.

It's been ten years.

These surviving members...

won't be able to hold back anymore.

I never thought that...

Yao Bi Ying...

is the descendant of the Ming family.

But she seems to know nothing about her family background.

Over the past years, I've been watching Yao Bi Ying.

I've never seen her meet anyone outside the Yuan family.

Yao Bi Ying...

being here in Yuan family is no coincidence.

She must have been placed here by Ming Feng Qing.

I will not let Mei Xiang's death be in vain.

It's been ten years.

The Ming family should be making a move now.

The reason why I arranged her in a remote place...

was to make it easier for the Ming family to contact her.

Chen Yu Jiao.

Keep an eye on Yao Bi Ying.

We must find this bunch of surviving members.

Yes.

Bi Ying.

You're having a bad cough. Why did you come out?

Remember to take the Ginseng Nourishing Pill.

I take it on time every single day.

Otherwise, I wouldn't even be able to walk out of this door.

Bi Ying, take a look.

These are the rouge plums that I just grafted.

Mu Jin.

Don't get punished because of me again.

Nonsense.

I get to enjoy the sight of flowers.

Who will get to have such a good task?

I overheard the conversation between you and Fei Yan the other day.

Bi Ying.

Bi Ying.

It's all right. I'll clean it up later.

It's fine if it's broken.

I can make another one.

They can grow as big as that tree...

as long as there are soil and sunlight.

The previous martial arts competition...

was just between...

the East and West Battalions.

With me back here this time...

I realised that Fei Yan and Fei Jue are eager to give it a try.

How about this?

Convey my command.

In this competition,

the children of Yuan family,

can send the Martial Art Maidens to participate in the competition.

The winner of the competition...

will be selected as the Martial Art Scholar.

It's understandable that everyone is moved by the idea.

My Lord, this changes...

will allow more people to have a chance to showcase their talents.

That's a smart move.

"East Battalion"

Instructor Dai is indeed a good teacher.

This method can not only build the strength for both arms,

but also the stability of the lower half of the body,

and improve the martial arts skills in a short time.

Why did you only let Song Ming Lei participate in the literature exam?

Everyone thinks that we attach great importance to martial arts.

I'll have Guang Qian to restore the West Battalion's reputation.

But this competition is different from the previous ones.

This relates to the selection of the Martial Art Scholar.

You can't hold Guang Qian back.

And we need a general in the West Battalion.

Fei Yan, I have my own plan.

Just focus on Li Rui Pavilion will do.

If you don't agree to it,

I'll get Guang Qian to take part in the name of Li Rui Pavilion.

If Song Ming Lei becomes the general someday,

he'll be in the battlefield all year round.

Can you accompany him to guard the frontier?

If you wait for him at home,

it's not uncommon to be away for three to five years.

It makes no difference from being a widow.

Sister.

I can lose to the East Battalion.

But I can't risk your lifetime happiness.

Just let Guang Qian stay in Zi Yuan forever.

Let him stay with us. All right?

"Store Room"

Bi Ying, hurry and take a look. The flowers are in bloom.

Young Lord Fei Bai, I brought this from the little cottage.

This is a rare grafting technique.

How did Ms. Mu learn it?

Come with me.

Young Lord Fei Bai admires your planting skills.

He's inviting you to Xi Feng Court to look after the plum blossoms.

But Bi Ying hasn't recovered yet.

I don't feel at ease to have others look after her.

You gave us your word...

to make it bloom abundantly and not just a pot.

Since you haven't honoured your word, you need to accept the punishment.

But when I gave you my word,

Young Lord Fei Bai didn't give me a time frame...

to make it bloom abundantly in the yard.

Well.

So...

it's not that I didn't honour my word.

It's just not the time yet.

Not only that Hua Mu Ji rejected me, she even gave me two feathers.

A fish is drawn on one feather.

And a goat on another feather.

"A clean official refuses bribes."

A stinky salted fish?

There was a governor in the Han Dynasty.

His name is Yang Xu, a clean official.

Whenever someone sent him a fish to bribe him,

he would hang it up high,

and used the previous uneaten fish as an excuse to decline the bribe.

This bookmark...

carries the same meaning...

to tell us that she rejects our offer to come to Xi Feng Court.

Although you've solved my riddles,

I'll once again reject you politely.

I won't go to Xi Feng Court.

Please don't come here again.

I'll come here every day. Let's see if you still won't go.

I won't go!

I won't go!

That Hua Mu Ji rejected me again.

This time, she gave me this doll.

I'm sure it's nothing good!

Young Lord Fei Bai, what does it mean?

It's the same as "no word".

Two plum blossoms on a person's chest.

Come up with an idiom.

Just like you, a heartless person.

A heartless person?

Nice one, Hua Mu Ji!

How dare of you to scold me?

Su Hui, go there again tomorrow.

Sure!

I'll teach her a lesson tomorrow.

Be polite.

Hua Mu Ji.

I don't believe it.

-I'll carry you back there today. -Su Hui.

Young Lord Fei Bai.

Mu Tou Hua asked us to deliver these flowers to you.

Please have a look.

Look. It blooms abundantly.

This is not plum blossom. It's peony.

That's right.

-It's so beautiful. -That's right.

Ming Lei!

-Fei Yan. -What a coincidence, right?

-Come on. Let's go together. -Let's go.

-Bi Ying. -Fei Yan, Ming Lei.

-Here. -It smells good.

It's pretty good. You can try this later on.

All right.

Bi Ying.

How are you lately?

Thank you for your concern.

I'm recovering and getting better.

All thanks to Mu Jin.

Because of Bi Ying, we have this little cottage.

We can now gather here on the first day of every month.

Bi Ying, it's a blessing in disguise for Xiao Wu Yi.

Here's a toast to you.

Here.

Hua Mu Ji.

All of you are here.

Mr. Han once again,

invites you to Xi Feng Court to look after the plum blossoms.

-Come with me. -Su Hui.

Tell Mr. Han that I appreciate his kindness.

But I won't go to Xi Feng Court.

Mu Jin, I think you should go.

Mu Jin, you have to go.

That's right. Even Bi Ying said the same.

Are you staying to look after her for the rest of your life?

Can't you think for your own future?

Jin Xiu, what are you talking about?

What's the matter? Was I wrong?

In this man-eat-man place,

if you go to Xi Feng Court, you'll have a place to settle down.

I just want you to have a better life. Am I wrong?

Do you still remember our vows?

"We'll not forsake anyone for the rest of our lives."

Su Hui.

You may leave.

I won't go to Xi Feng Court with you.

Fei Yan, Ming Lei, get Su Hui back here.

Ask him to take Mu Jin to Xi Feng Court.

Nobody is leaving.

I won't go anywhere.

In this world, there's no place...

better than this little cottage.

This is our home.

Bi Ying.

I'm sorry.

Ten years ago,

I brought the Hua sisters back from Lu Prefecture.

Their mother told me,

their hometown is in the upstream of the Zhuo Zhang River.

The Hua dock.

Mu Jin has learned many things since young.

Her father taught her all that.

Take her to Xi Feng Court.

You'll learn...

what the invincible wisdom is.

It didn't occur to me that she's Hua Bin's daughter.

Why would you invite Hua Mu Jin again...

during the gathering of Xiao Wu Yi?

I just wanted to see...

where does Xiao Wu Yi stand in her heart.

If she's someone with a strong sense of camaraderie,

I'll help Young Lord Fei Bai to win this woman over.

Mu Jin, I think you should go.

Are you going to look after her for the rest of your life?

Jin Xiu, what are you talking about?

Mu Jin.

Thank you for everything that you've done for me.

But I...

I don't want to be a burden on Xiao Wu Yi.

Why is Bi Ying having a fever?

Ms. Yuan wouldn't let the physician attend to Bi Ying.

Whatever it is, even if I have to die,

I'll get a physician for Bi Ying.

Mu Jin, you've done so much for me.

Let me help you.

I'm not a useless person.

Why would you be a useless person?

You're a great person!

I have your companion for the past ten years.

How great is it.

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

-Did you find Bi Ying? -No.

Bi Ying!

-Bi Ying! -Bi Ying!

You...

What are you doing?

Please spare Bi Ying's life.

Let the physician attend to her.

As long as you're willing to retract the order,

I'm willing to serve you for the rest of my life.

You.

Please do me another favour.

I know that I shouldn't come here to disturb you.

But my sister is dying.

Please send a physician to the store room.

It's not good for Xi Feng Court to interfere,

with the matter between the store room and Li Rui Pavilion.

Purple-eyed girl, quickly leave.

Young Lord Fei Bai has no time to entertain you.

Yao Bi Ying stole the gifts bestowed by His Majesty.

She deserves to die.

But I let her live.

I've shown you due respect.

After all, it's my fault for not educating my sister.

Please punish me.

Song Ming Lei, get up.

I won't allow you to beg for Yao Bi Ying.

Young Lord Fei Bai, when madam was still alive,

she made contributions to pave roads and repair the bridges in hometown.

Ten years have passed.

I did not expect that madam...

is still fondly remembered by the folks in the hometown.
