"The Twin Flower Legend"

Episode 4

Sir.

The Selection Ceremony is a dangerous event.

Those who are going to attend the ceremony...

have met the requirements of becoming the Six-sons.

What if they all die?

All Six-sons are talented.

They can manage the ceremony.

I don't mind without these Six-sons.

What I need...

are those who meet the Thirty-two Words of Truth's requirements.

Congratulations, madam, you're pregnant.

It's such a big deal,

why don't you let the duke knows about it?

Now, the East Battalion belongs to Yuan Fei Bai.

The West Battalion belongs to Yuan Fei Qing.

Pity my child,

he has nothing.

So, my child...

can't afford to have any misfortune.

All of you have been working hard for so many years.

Today is the day to show your talent.

Anyone who passes the test today...

can join the Yuan Family's troops,

and officially serve the duke.

As for this test...

everyone will need to draw lots.

You are divided into six groups.

All six groups...

enter the fortress at the same time from different gates.

How are we going to do this? Except for Bi Ying and Mu Jin,

the rest of us have been separated.

We're in a group with Chu Hua.

Don't worry, Jin Xiu,

I'll keep you safe.

Let's see who's going to protect whom?

Don't worry.

Brother.

The talents for this Selection Ceremony...

us, the West Battalion, must take all the talents.

What's the rush?

I'm the only healthy son of the Yuan Family.

Regardless how many talents they're going to pick,

the Yuan Family will be ours in the future.

Brother.

We're not officially granted the West Battalion yet.

And that Yuan Fei Bai,

he has the East Battalion all the time.

I don't understand.

Why our father so bias to Yuan Fei Bai?

In short,

you are the only crown prince in this family.

We have to walk steadily every step of the way.

So, for the talents of the Selection Ceremony,

we have to take them all.

Young Lord Fei Bai,

it's time to go to the Wan Sheng Cave.

Mr. Han, you've been taking care of the East Battalion all these while,

and there's no shortage of people in the East Battalion.

I'm not interested to fight with the West Battalion.

Regarding the Selection Ceremony,

it has nothing to do with me.

But this time it's different.

Today, we are testing the best among the elite soldiers.

You have to be there.

According to the Yuan Family's rules,

it doesn't matter the East or West Battalion wins...

it's consider a victory for the Yuan Family.

Young Lord Fei Bai,

there's a shortage of talents in the East Battalion.

Mr. Han, you knew that...

I'm not interested.

Young Lord Fei Bai,

I have always wanted to ask a question.

Please ask.

What kind of person do you think Duke Yuan is?

Someone I admire.

An amazing man.

The way he treats me...

is very good.

Back then, the Duke ruled out all the objection and...

handed over the East Battalion to you.

He did it from the bottom of his heart.

Everyone knew about it.

But you don't treat him well.

What do you want Duke Yuan to do?

Your late mother,

how would she think about it?

Don't just care about me.

When you grow up, you have to be good to your father.

It's time.

Everyone, put on your arm band.

Remember.

This ceremony will last for 45 minutes.

When the time is up,

the fortress will collapse.

What are you waiting for?

The incense will be finished soon.

Let's go.

Jin Xiu.

This world is in chaos.

The young man and I,

I'm afraid we won't be able to meet each other again.

With this hairpin,

it's like I'm always by your side.

Sister, you have to be careful too.

You too.

Jin Xiu.

Hurry up!

Hurry up!

Bi Ying, let's go.

Liu Yan Sheng.

How's the construction of the Wan Sheng Cave?

It has been built according to your plan.

Wan Sheng Cave.

I love this name.

On that day...

all Gods would cry together.

All chambers in the fortress are full of traps.

The corridors are not to be underestimated.

Even for a simple door,

it's probably the switch of a hidden weapon.

When you're in the fortress,

there will be some deadly warriors.

Just beat them then find the key which they're holding on.

Then you'll be able to escape.

Sir, these kids are rare talents.

If you lose them,

it'll be such a pity.

The Selection Ceremony is a fatal test.

And this year is unusual...

because Director Liu...

I've crossed the line.

Everything goes as usual.

Is this the timing?

Stay calm. There must be a way out of this place.

Let's look around.

One of these route is the exit, another one is a dead end.

If we make a mistake, we'll be in trouble.

What should we do?

On the left is an Auspicious Beast which speaks human language.

This is the Wicked Beast which loves to eat human.

I think...

the door of the Auspicious Beast should be our escape route.

Why the compass points the escape route to the Wicked Beast exit?

No way.

Come back. We can't go that way.

Don't go in. It's a trap.

Get away from me!

I don't want to die. I need to get out of here.

Come with me. We use the Wicked Beast exit.

-Hurry up and go in. -Hurry up!

-Jin Xiu! -Be careful, Jin Xiu.

Brother Song, how did you know this is the escape route?

Because the Auspicious Beast exit is full of bird shits.

But the other exit is clean.

Birds usually fly in through a hole.

If there's a way out,

the birds don't have to fly out using the same exit,

that's why the exit is clean.

Only when they're in danger, they'd return to the same way,

and left their droppings in panic.

That's why the Auspicious Beast exit is a dead end.

On the contrary, the clean door is the escape route.

It turns out that those who set this up,

did this on purpose.

The arrow is poisonous.

How could there be poison?

It used to be harmless.

Go to Xi Feng Court and invite to Mr. Han to come over.

It's a long way to Xi Feng Court, you better go now.

Yes.

I've arranged everything.

We will send someone to stop Han Xiu Zhu and Yuan Fei Bai first.

If the leader of the East Battalion couldn't make it to the ceremony,

then those chosen talents...

will belong to us.

Mu Jin, what are you doing?

We've walked here three times before,

I didn't even notice this mural.

This formation feels so familiar.

If I remember correctly, there must be a hint on it.

But what could be the hint on these murals?

This is strange.

Why did they paint the mural of Jingwei Reclamation?

Mu Jin, why do we always end up at the same spot?

According to the book, The Classic of Mountains and Seas,

two hundred miles to the north,

there is a mountain called the Fa Jiu Mountain.

There are a lot of Silkworm Thorn Trees.

There's a kind of bird which looks like crows.

It has patterns on its feathers, white beak and red feet.

It's called Jingwei.

The shape of this bird looks like those from the book. It's Jingwei.

There's an exit.

Let's go.

Let's go.

-Fang Zi. -Help!

Hold on!

Don't move.

-Fang Zi. -Let go of me!

-I don't want to trouble you. -Shut up!

Hold on to me.

Climb over to my back.

I'll count to three, then you jump over me.

One.

Two.

Three.

The three of you, step on me and cross over.

Although your brother took over the West Battalion,

your mother wants to let you know that...

you're still part of the Yuan Family.

Who is the real owner of Zi Yuan?

I know it better than anyone else.

Don't worry.

They're tough kids,

I'm sure they'll survive the test.

Young Lord Fei Qing.

What's going on?

Nothing much. The wheels are broken.

Su Hui went back to get another carriage.

My brother.

Since you're not convenient to walk, you better stay in.

Thank you for your concern.

This is fate.

Fate.

Go!

That's weird.

All the carriages in Zi Yuan are being occupied...

or under repair.

We don't have a carriage.

What a co-incidence?

This is indeed an escape route.

There are no traps along the way.

There's not much time left.

We need to be hurry.

Bi Ying.

Do you understand this, Bi Ying?

This is a music sheet.

Run!

Yuan Wu, you all go. I've got you covered.

-Just go! -Let's go.

Please let me go.

My mother is Zi Yuan's supervisor.

She can give you money.

She can give you money.

I beg you.

I beg you.

Please spare me.

Come on, let's go.

These deadly warriors are not afraid of pain nor death.

They're not normal people.

Bi Ying, do you still remember the music sheet?

Play it!

Play it!

Bi Ying, run!

There's an exit. Run!

Why the pillar has an empty centre?

Brother Yu!

Let's go.

Let's go!

Greetings, Young Lord Fei Qing.

Mr. Liu, how's the ceremony going?

Young Lord Fei Qing.

Everything will be revealed soon.

There they are!

Jin Xiu.

-Fei Yan. -Ming Lei.

-Are you all right? -All right.

Where is Mu Jin?

Fei Yan, Ming Lei.

Fei Yan, Ming Lei.

Luckily, Dr. Lin's carriage was there.

His carriage is moving fast.

Greetings, Young Lord Fei Bai.

Greetings, Young Lord Fei Qing.

That's great, Fei Bai, you're finally here.

What is this?

I guess this is the key to open the last iron door.

Looking at the shape, there should be four of them.

I only have two.

My brothers and sisters are smart.

Why didn't I think of that?

Let's put it this way.

Let's gather the keys,

beat those guys, then we can go out.

That's right.

But we still lack of one key.

Everyone is fine.

-Huai An, are you hurt? -No, I'm not.

It's broken.

Let me help you.

Jin Xiu!

Fei Yan, pull out their gold needles!

-Hurry! -Okay!

Mu Jin.

How do you know they are controlled by the gold needles?

My father once told me about...

the power of using gold needles to control human being.

We still need the last piece of iron key to open the gate.

We've less than an hour.

Hello, everyone.

The ceremony will end soon.

If we continue to fight here,

we're going to die here.

Could it be...

Do you want us to let you go?

I dare not.

I'm just curious.

Why do you have to kill us?

We are the former prisoners of war.

If we kill you all...

and take your arm bands to escape,

only then will we be free again.

It's a must for you to kill us and take away our arm bands?

They told us to do whatever we can,

and show them the arm bands as a proof.

So, the Yuan Family didn't set a rule for you to kill us.

Since we have no grudges,

why don't we work together?

We'll give you the arm bands, you will be free again.

Why should I believe you?

Why should I listen to you?

I swear to God,

after we go out, I will fight for your freedom.

If we fail to the fight for your freedom,

you can kill me as you wish.

Okay, I'll trust you for once.

It's not good to stay here any longer. Let's leave now!

Let's go!

Back off!

Mr. Liu, what is going on?

I was just following the order of the Duke to organise the ceremony.

I really have no idea what happened in there.

Instructor Dai, standby to save them.

Yes.

Commander Chen, you seem to have forgotten the rules.

The construction of this Wan Sheng Cave was supervised by you.

Now it starts to collapse before the time is up.

Aren't you afraid the Duke will ask you to take responsibility for it?

Commander Chen, you don't have any proof.

You are accusing me.

What is your intention?

You...

Hold on.

My limps are gone.

I'm useless now. You better go.

What nonsense are you talking about? We'll leave this place together.

Mu Jin, go find the exit.

Okay.

-Stand up, Feng Ding. -Feng Ding.

Put him on my back.

I found the exit.

We can go out now.

Come on, let's go.

Slow down.

Mu Jin, is this the place?

The Jin Gate belongs to the elements of fire.

It means the fire after setting the explosives.

We'll blow it open right now.

No.

Who knows how much dynamite are in there?

Will it blow us up as well?

If we don't try it, we're going to die here anyway.

If we try, we still have half of the chance to get out of here.

If we stay here, we're going to die for sure.

Just give it a try.

-Do it. -Go on!

Go. Hurry up!

Hurry up!

Go and help them!

Commander Chen.

All of us, a total of 12 people,

we arrived here safely.

Go inform the Duke.

Those who can survive this ceremony...

are great talents.

We will treat you well.

I'd like to introduce yourself.

I'm the Chief of West Battalion, Yuan Fei Qing.

This is my brother, Yuan Fei Bai,

the Chief of East Battalion.

Welcome everyone to the East and West Battalion.

Brothers, let's go.

We're free.

Guards.

Get these prisoners to their death penalty.

Yes!

Liu Yin Sheng,

you broke your promise!

Your mission...

was to test these men.

Since you have failed your mission,

you're not qualified to live.

Mr. Liu.

The rules of the ceremony just need us to get the keys,

and they have to get our arm bands.

It doesn't state that we can't work together.

Mr. Liu, please let them go.

You are the troops of the Yuan Family.

We don't care what you did to pass the test.

But these prisoners of war...

According to the rules of the Yuan Family,

they've failed to complete their mission.

We have to execute him immediately.

Why are you still standing there?

Go away!

Mr. Liu.

The Yuan Family is known for their virtuousness and righteousness.

Those are the rules set by Duke Yuan.

If you insist to kill them,

it's not good for the Yuan Family once the news is spread.

Duke Yuan has given me the right to organise this ceremony,

so I have the right to kill those who has failed their mission.

Young Lord Fei Qing,

the Yuan Family wouldn't agree with that, right?

Please spare them.

Young Lord Fei Bai, please save them.

This is for you.

Maybe we'll see each other someday.

Don't kneel down here. Just go.

The Yuan Family praised themselves for their virtuousness and righteousness.

-It's all a lie. -Shut up!

You've no rights to judge us.

The violence and the killings...

Those are the rules of the Yuan Family.

How dare you talk back to us like that?

Take this woman and sentence her to death.

-Yes! -Hold on!

Young Lord Fei Qing is the chief.

Hua Mu Jin fought so hard for the prisoners of war.

That was stupid.

Without them, we were already dead in the Wan Sheng Cave.

Mr. Liu.

Mu Jin is a straightforward person.

She doesn't deserve to die.

So...

Commander Chen,

do you think it's a small matter to disgrace the Yuan Family and the Duke?

Take her.

Jin Xiu.

Are the five of you trying to rebel?

Stop it!

Commander Chen, Mu Jin didn't do anything wrong.

Arrest all five of them.

Stop!

It was all my fault, please let them go.

We don't need people who disobeyed us.

Take them for death penalty.

Mr. Liu...

If anyone wants to help these thieves...

I give no mercy.

I'm going to die soon...

I've nothing to be afraid of.

Excuse me, Mr. Liu,

as compared to what Mu Jin has done,

the conspiracy of killing all the Yuan Family troops...

was a more serious offence, wasn't it?

Considering you're badly injured, I'm not going to argue with you.

Someone take him for treatment.

No hurry.

Let's settle everything here.

It's not too late for the treatment.

I'm the son of the Yuan Family.

Although this is a difficult test,

I know there will be a chance to escape.

But this time, they set a trap at the escape route.

All the pillars were emptied.

As soon as the door opened, all the statues collapsed.

The pillars collapsed immediately as well.

Are you suspecting that I made the Wan Sheng Cave collapsed?

We can prove it!

The collapsed cave was caused by human fault.

We all can testify.
