Maid Escort

Episode 21

Medicine

This one seems nice.

Have you heard?

The bandits from Qingyue Mountain have been wiped out.

It is gratifying.

The chief, Zheng Xiu has been imprisoned.

I bet she won't make it through.

Yin Ruo!

Yin Ruo,

when did you get here?

Why didn't you tell me?

I...

Are you still angry with me?

I just hope that Yang Zhuo will recover as soon as possible.

How is he doing now?

There hasn't been any improvement.

We've tried many kinds of medicines,

but none of them are working.

Zi Yuan,

I heard that Yang Xiao fell off the cliff and was seriously injured.

You found him a highly-skilled physician, didn't you?

Could you invite the physician over

and check on Young Master Yang?

But...

Yin Ruo, I wish I could help you.

It's just that the method that Physician Duan uses is really...

Zi Yuan.

You know it very well.

Ever since my mother passed away, I've been...

Yang Zhuo hurt himself when he was trying to save me.

Now I know

who it is that I should spend my life with.

Zi Yuan,

I'm begging you.

Please have mercy on me.

We're just about to start a new chapter together.

If Yang Zhuo has to be bedridden

for the rest of his life,

what should I do?

Yin Ruo.

Seeing you get hurt is the last thing I want.

If this is something else,

I'd be more than happy to help.

But this is...

After all,

you still refuse to help me.

Yin Ruo, this isn't what I mean.

I...

Yin Ruo!

Yang Xiao, what can I do for you?

Miss Bai,

Zi Yuan refused to tell you

the whereabouts of Physician Duan

because she wanted to protect you.

I met Physician Duan before.

His medical skills are brilliant,

but he is a despicable man.

You might get hurt.

Do you mean

I should sit by and let Yang Zhuo die?

Yang Zhuo is my brother.

As his younger brother,

I won't leave him alone.

However, I bought Physician Duan's Medicine King Valley over

to be used as a chicken farm.

He is probably living on the streets now.

We don't even know his whereabouts.

I won't be so easy to locate him.

But rest assured, Miss Bai.

I've asked someone to help.

I think he will find him.

Yang Xiao, why do you want to see me?

He's here.

Yin Ruo, what are you doing here?

Zi Jun?

Please do me a favour.

Even Young Master Yang

would ask for my help?

I won't do it.

Sorry to disappoint you.

You can always turn me down,

but this is about Yin Ruo.

Yin Ruo? What is it about?

We're looking for someone.

Who is that?

Physician Duan.

Physician Duan?

General, we've brought back the corpses of the caravan.

Wang Jian won't find out.

We were discreet.

Examine properly.

Do not miss any details.

Yes.

If you find anything, let me know straight away.

Yes, Officer Gu.

Stop by the foot of Qingyue Mountain for two hours, there's an important issue.

Chief Zheng is not a bandit.

She has never killed anyone.

She had done all the good deeds which we haven't done.

She's done nothing bad!

Someone like her shouldn't die!

Zi Yuan, calm down.

Officer Gu,

how is the investigation?

Any new clues?

Although I also think that Wang Jian is involved in this,

I have yet to find any proof.

Right now,

Wang Jian and the rest are anticipating your mistakes.

This is why you have to be very careful

with everything you do, every word you say.

Officer Gu,

Chief Zheng is innocent. You know it too!

Officer Gu, why don't you help us free her from the prison?

No.

I don't agree either.

The prison is heavily guarded.

We won't make it with just the few of us.

Even if we manage to save her,

we can't clear her name.

We will be her accomplices.

In that case, we will lose our initiative.

As for Wang Jian,

he will gain the upper hand.

Yes. That's what I was thinking.

This is why you must not act recklessly.

Wait for me to secure evidence.

General.

There's an emergency. We'll talk later.

Zi Yuan, we will figure this out.

Stay calm.

Sister!

Sister, Young Master Yang,

there are notices out there.

stating that Wang Jian will behead Chief Zheng

and the rest tomorrow.

What?

They are going to behead Chief Zheng tomorrow?

Chief Zheng.

How do you feel

after taking the poison I made?

I'm here to see you.

I also brought you good stuff.

Rest assured, it will not kill you.

After taking it,

you will only lose all your inner energy.

From then on, you won't have to act tough any more.

I will feed you.

Guards!

Yes!

Open her mouth for me!

Yes!

Stop it.

Officer Gu.

Officer Gu.

Wang Jian,

you promised me that you'd dispense justice without bias.

How dare you inflict punishment without permission?

An evil bandit like Zheng Xiu

will be executed sooner or later.

Why do we care about the punishment?

And you, as an imperial officer,

are you trying

to ask for mercy on behalf of the bandit who had been harming

Guiyue State?

Confidential

This letter

was found on one of the victims

of the caravan massacre.

Confidential

Who wrote this letter?

Why did he ask the caravan

to make a stop at that timing?

Confidential

What does he have to do with the culprits

who massacred the caravan?

It looks like your handwriting.

Stop deceiving me.

Confidential

This letter must have been fabricated.

What can it prove?

Officer Gu, if you have strong evidence,

you'd have arrested me as soon as you could.

Officer Gu, don't worry.

Tonight, I will get rid of evildoers for the people, dispense justice

and take Zheng Xiu's life!

Don't you dare!

If you dare hurt the innocent people,

I will send this letter to the capital.

If the capital starts to look into it with this letter,

you and the people who back you up

will be buried with Zheng Xiu

for all the filthy stuff you've done

if not for the caravan murders.

I'm terrified!

You might not be scared,

but what about the people who back you up?

You...

If you drop the whole thing, I will not go through with it.

Are you alright?

I'm fine. These are minor injuries.

Thank you for your help, Officer Gu.

It's alright. Go back and take a good rest.

Yang Xiao, Zi Yuan.

Chief!

Chief.

Chief, are you alright?

Did Wang Jian step out of line?

I'm fine. These are just scratches. Nothing serious.

I have to thank Officer Gu for her help.

Don't mention it.

Reporting to general!

Speak.

Alright, I got it.

You can leave now.

Yes.

Yang Xiao, Zi Yuan,

take Zheng Xiu home first.

You won't be able to return to Qingfeng Camp for now.

As for Da Li and Da Bao,

they have to bear with it and stay here for two more days.

Trust me.

I will find a way to release them.

Chief Zheng, are you alright?

I'm fine.

Wang Jian's tricks

are just child's play for me.

Chief, easy.

But he killed so many people.

I will make him pay for it.

Chief, don't worry.

We will not let Wang Jian off.

The most important thing now

is to go back to Yinfeng Pavilion

so that you can recover.

So many of my innocent brothers from Qingfeng Camp

died wrongfully.

Good prevails over evil.

We will never let Wang Jian off.

Zi Yuan, watch out!

Zi Yuan, take care of her!

Chief!

Chief.

Chief, how are you feeling?

Zi Yuan.

Chief.

Zi Yuan, listen to me.

I'm here.

I might not be able to make it.

No, Chief.

Don't talk nonsense, hang in there.

You'll be fine.

It's just a minor injury.

I'll go find Physician Duan!

It's too late.

Zi Yuan.

Chief.

Zi Yuan.

I'm here.

I've always treated you like my own sister.

Now that you're by my side at my last moment,

I'm more than grateful.

Don't talk nonsense, Chief.

I know.

I have been

living life on the edge.

But I hope

that the fellows of Qingfeng Camp

will not repeat my mistake.

I hope they can settle down somewhere proper.

Chief.

One more thing.

Go on.

You must insist on opening a new trade route,

so that the people of Guiyue State can live and work in peace.

It... It is also my wish for Qingfeng Camp.

I will.

We are sworn sisters.

Now that I'm leaving,

I still asked for so many favours.

Zi Yuan.

In the next life,

I will be your Chief again.

Chief!

♫ I turned the entire pond black ♫

♫ I described the moments we had in spring ♫

♫ I can barely remember your shy look in my dream ♫

Today, I, Zheng Xiu, and Yue Zi Yuan

♫ You sneaked into the night along the wind ♫

will be blood sisters.

♫ Accompanied by a beauty while I read late at night ♫

From now on, we will be bonded to each other, live and die together.

♫ Don't be scared when you're alone ♫

Chief.

♫ Dance in the rainbow skirt and feathered coat ♫

Chief.

Chief, wake up.

♫ Let it condense down into good times ♫

Chief.

Chief.

♫ You make words whirling around in the poem ♫

Chief.

Chief, wake up.

♫ Fill in your brows really lightly and put on the forehead decoration ♫

Chief.

Chief!

♫ The young shoots of reeds are grey ♫

Chief!

♫ The person who I miss is somewhere beyond the stream ♫

Chief!

♫ Grind an inch of love-sickness ♫

♫ Into an endless autumn stream ♫

♫ When that lady looked back at me and smiled ♫

In memory of Zheng Xiu

♫ It turns over in my mind ♫

♫ While heating wine by the window ♫

♫ I started to compose a poem when snow was falling ♫

♫ I wrote about my love-sickness for you ♫

♫ I turned the entire pond black ♫

♫ I described the moments we had in spring ♫

In memory of Zheng Xiu

♫ I couldn't forget you ♫

♫ My love-sickness for you would never end ♫

In memory of Zheng Xiu

Why is no one here

in Yinfeng Pavilion?

We're temporarily closed.

I was worried that Wang Jian's spies would sneak in and mess with us.

We'll observe for a few days first.

Don't be dejected.

Although we can't prove

that it was Wang Jian who murdered Zheng Xiu,

we will eventually find some clues.

Is it still possible for the new trade route opening?

They are unscrupulous.

I thought that with Chief Zheng's help,

Yang Xiao's initiative and your consent,

things will go well with the new trade route.

But in the end,

Chief Zheng met the same tragic end like before.

Are the people involved in opening new trade route

meant to die?

Obviously, Wang Jian is so arrogant

because Wang Rong backs him up.

We were too naive.

Mistress, Zi Yuan is soaked.

Please prepare some clean clothes for her.

I must protect the survivors of Qingfeng Camp

so that Zheng Xiu can rest in peace.

Everything is a mess right now.

Why does Yang Xiao seem so depressed?

It is because Zi Yuan blamed him

for the death of Zheng Xiu.

I guess he is blaming himself

for opening the new trade route.

Greetings, my lord.

Is it done?

Yes, my lord.

You didn't leave any traces, did you?

My lord, rest assured.

No one was there during the mission.

They won't be able to find any proof

which points to us.

Great.

You did a great job.

Wang Jian, I will reward you generously.

Thank you, my lord.

However, now that Zheng Xiu is dead,

we should get rid of Yang Xiao and Yue Zi Yuan

as soon as we can.

My lord,

Zheng Xiu was protecting Yang Xiao and the others.

That is why they were so bold

on the new trade route opening.

Now that Zheng Xiu is dead,

there's nothing to fear

about the rest of them.

That's not true.

Gu Shu Yu is still alive.

Gu Shu Yu is the commanding officer of Guiyue State.

Both of you share the same status.

It's not easy to lay a finger on her.

Let's say,

if Yang Xiao and the others

know that Bai Yin Ruo betrayed them,

what will happen?

Do you mean...

In that case,

without us having to lift a finger,

they will fight among themselves.

After they fall apart,

taking them down one by one

will be a piece of cake.

Zi Yuan.

What are you doing with that dagger?

I will kill Wang Jian

and avenge Chief.

Zi Yuan, calm down.

We don't have any proof yet.

Give me the dagger.

He captured her.

He also exterminated Qingfeng Camp with his troops.

Chief was murdered right after she was released.

Who else would do that if not him?

Zi Yuan, calm down first.

Even though we know he's the murderer,

we don't have any proof.

We can't just take someone's life without any proof!

I don't need proof.

Step aside.

I won't.

Step aside.

Zi Yuan, you must stay calm.

Zi Yuan, don't be reckless.

We should sit down and find a solution.

What solution?

If you hadn't stopped me from rescuing her from the prison,

would Chief have died?

Zi Yuan,

I do this for your own good.

We don't have any proof.

Looking for a proof should be our priority, right?

Whenever something happened to us,

it was Chief who protected us.

Yet now she died wrongfully.

If I don't avenge her,

I won't be able to tolerate this.

Death will be the worst thing ever happens to me!

You don't have the guts to do it,

but I do.

I do!

But what can an impulsive decision do?

Could you bring a dead man back to life?

Could you change the situation now?

Could you reopen the trade route?

Trade route! All you care about is the trade route!

If you hadn't insisted on opening trade route,

if you hadn't asked me to be an armed escort,

if you hadn't sweet-talked them into this

and involved them in this,

everything wouldn't have happened!

Chief wouldn't have died.

The fellows of Qingfeng Camp wouldn't have died.

And your big brother

wouldn't have suffered such severe injury!
