Lost Promise

Episode 13

Thank you.

How is it?

How did you do it?

How possibly could you do it?

I'm so impressed.

I'm so impressed.

You have to follow the rules of the gang

to be my follower.

The rules of the gang?

You are really a member of the Beggar's Gang?

So many good dishes,

how can there not be good liquor?

Why are you here?

I don't want to come either.

I ran into Cui in the courtyard who came to

bring you some liquor.

But she suddenly had a stomachache.

I had no choice but to bring it for her.

There is no maid named Cui in Amberverde Mansion.

I must remember the wrong name.

Was her name Hua or Hong?

It doesn't matter what her name is.

Anyway, it's just a code.

But this pot of liquor

came at the right time.

Qingliu. Take it as your farewell drink.

Farewell drink? Grandpa.

Here is the case.

A friend of mine sent me a message,

saying he knew where Boye Jingxing was.

I want you to go there

and bring him back.

But

Grandpa.

Is the source reliable?

It's better to have news than no news at all.

We should at least try our best.

You are the heir of the Jiang family.

This is also your responsibility.

Grandpa.

You also know

I'm afraid I'm no match

for Boye Jingxing with my current power.

I will go with you.

Where are we going, grandpa?

To the Mt. Jinglecloud.

Young master.

Where are we going?

Of course, we must first meet

the master if we want to join the Beggar's Gang.

Are we really going with him to the Beggar's Gang?

Beggar's Gang is the biggest gang in Wulin.

Although it's no acquaintance to us,

it's very well-informed since it has

a great number of members

who are everywhere down streets and alleys.

We may really get to know something

this time by following them.

What are you two muttering about?

Don't you want to go?

Yes, we want to.

How is this possible?

It is such a great honor

for us to meet the master of the Beggar's Gang.

It's just that my brother is a newcomer.

He has never seen anything like this

and is a little afraid.

Afraid of what?

The master is my elder brother.

This kid acts like a grown-up man.

It's a pity that he became a beggar at such a young age.

My brother went missing

at his age.

When I was young,

Brother Yingfeng always liked to

take the three of us to play.

He was smarter than any of us

and better at martial arts than we were.

We all liked to follow him.

I wonder where he is now.

Is he in the same miserable condition as this boy is?

Or maybe

he is no longer alive.

Let's go.

You really want to go to the Mt. Jinglecloud?

Cuixue has prepared the horses.

Why are you so stubborn?

I'm standing right here.

And you're going out to look for me?

What the hell are you looking for?

I know.

But this time

I have to make an explanation.

If I don't go there,

I'm afraid grandpa will doubt you.

Doubt as he wants.

As if I'd be afraid of him.

If I hadn't been plotted against back then,

how could he have taken advantage of me?

All right, if I go there now,

I should get there by nightfall.

I should be able to make it back tomorrow.

If you can still see the rising sun tomorrow,

come to my dreams and tell about that.

I have a stomachache.

Do you have a pain in your chest, too?

I have a tickle in my throat too.

Okay, stop pretending.

I don't have time to play with you here.

Villain.

Villain.

Villain.

She's not serious, is she?

You're all so lazy.

What are you doing here?

Where did you two come from, pretty faces?

Go away.

These two are my newest followers.

I'll take care of them.

If you dare to bully them,

I'll hunt you down.

This kid is quite righteous.

Here comes the master.

Greetings, Master.

Didn't you say the master is your brother?

That's what we all call him here.

It's a title of respect.

Get up.

These two are...

I saw them on the street.

They cried out to join the Beggar's Gang.

So

I brought them back.

You may join our Beggar's Gang.

But there are rules of the Beggar's Gang.

You have to go through a ceremony.

Can you accept it?

Hurry up.

Hurry up.

How can you spit on me?

That's not polite.

Stop the anger.

Who are you people?

What is your purpose of coming to our Beggar's Gang?

Little master, calm down.

We came here

because we hope that your gang

can help us to find a person.

Who?

Boye Jingxing.

I'm pretending to be sick.

I don't need to drink the medicine.

Take it away.

You can fool Jiang Qingliu with these words.

Do you think you can fool me?

Your fainting today was not a deliberate act of illness.

It's because your health has become worse.

I was going to pretend to be sick.

I didn't expect that I would really faint.

Don't sign.

I'm made of stone.

I can't die.

Just tell me the truth.

How long can I live?

Half a year.

Even now

I follow you every step of the way to take care of you.

There will only be more than 2 months for you.

Two months.

Can I still find out the truth about the Chillecho Valley?

Now it seems that Jiang Yintian is determined to

use Jiang Qingliu in exchange

for your whereabouts.

If he makes it,

the entire Wulin will learn of your whereabouts,

they'll definitely join forces to hunt you down.

If it comes, you can't even

survive two days with your current

physical condition,

let alone two months.

Jiang Yintian is really evil-minded.

I met with Yuege today.

He was also very determined.

I tried to persuade him, but it was useless.

He lost three battles to me back then.

I almost burned down his Mt. Jinglecloud.

How can he be so merciful

and let me go?

Why did you do it in the first place?

Have you made up your mind

whether to trade with Xin Yuege or not?

Didn't you always disapprove of

me trading Jiang Qingliu with him?

The situation is different now.

Instead of sitting here and waiting for death,

I think we should

take action first.

Villain, what are you doing in the morning?

Jiang Qingliu.

Come here, don't be afraid.

Don't. Don't come over.

We can have a good talk.

Come over and I'll tell you in secret.

I'm telling you.

Better a glorious death than a shameful life.

I just want to transmit the power to you.

Now that you said that,

I'd like to see how you're pursuing a glorious death.

You... are you going to transmit power to me?

Or else what?

What are you thinking about

all day long?

Come here.

Take off your clothes.

Are you going to transport or not?

If not, forget it.

You can lose the chance.

Turn around.

Close your eyes.

In fact, you can get back the position

of Master of Wulin if you hand me over.

That's the easiest and most direct way.

Then why didn't you hand me over?

Because

I have your internal energy in my body.

You're still transmitting it for me.

Jing.

Ever since I was little,

I've been told to do something.

That's my mission

to be the master of Wulin.

So I worked hard for it.

However, when I really

got the position, I realized that

I had doubts about myself.

I was doubting

which were right and which were wrong

about the things they told me.

Such as the position of Master of Wulin.

Such as you.

What do you mean by that?

I mean to

the Master of Wulin

is indeed very important to Amberverde Mansion.

But

I will never trade you for it.

If you talk during the process of power transmission, you may go crazy.

But you talked first.

Did I?

Why don't I remember it?

Boye Jingxing has commited so many evil deeds.

Now he has managed to escape from Jianghu.

All the people in jianghu

are all in great danger now.

It's not that I don't want to help you,

I've only heard a little bit about

Boye Jingxing.

Do you know how old he is?

How he looks like?

Since then,

please go back.

Master.

Master.

What are you two shouting about?

Someone has cheated us out of our clothes.

Master, we'll leave now.

It's him.

He's a liar.

He's the one who cheated us out of our clothes.

Senior.

You called me here halfway

and you knew that I was going to Mt. Jinglecloud.

Who are you?

There's really nothing in this world

I don't know.

Is it possible that

you're the legendary Xin Yuege?

Yes, I am.

Senior.

You aren't asking me

to come here to have tea and play chess with you, are you?

Come here.

Taste the tea.

The finest Longjing.

No need.

Senior.

I'm here today

to find out what kind of information

my grandfather wants to trade me for.

The most important thing to him.

Is it Master of Wulin?

It's Boye Jingxing.

Jing?

The identity of Jing…

Don't rush yet.

The game hasn't started.

Is grandpa aware of it?

I really don't know about human heart.

But

Boye Jingxing is here too.

Boye Jingxing is here?

Why did she come to see you?

It seems you don't know anything.

Actually, I went to two separate people that day.

Two people?

Was the other one Boye Jingxing?

That's right.

Then what did she need?

She wants the truth of

the case in Chillecho Valley.

Did you used me for exchange?

That's right.

How come?

I just want to have some fun.

How can I let go

such an interesting thing so easily?

Isn't that right, Master Jiang?

I guess you are testing

to see I'm more important to whom, right?

I didn't say that.

I just thought it was fun.

But Jing didn't ask me to come.

But she knew you were coming.

And she came.

And...

No way.

She's not like that.

You're a woman.

What are you doing in the Mt. Jinglecloud?

You asked your grandson to go there

at this time of night.

What do you want?

This is between us.

You don't have to interfere.

Come on.

I'm the one he sleeps with every day.

I do care about my husband.

This young boy...

Why does he go no matter where

his grandpa tells him to go without a hesitation?

You...

So interesting.

Xin Yuege.

I've brought you the man you asked for.

Where is the man I wanted?

Where's Boye Jingxing?

Uncle.

Who are you?

It's getting funnier.

Are you done laughing?

Where is the man I wanted?

The grandfather can sell his grandson

for his own selfish desire.

That's...

that's really something

you'd do as you always did.

And you.

Wait.

What?

You sold Jiang Qingliu?

You...

How could you do such a thing?

It's none of your business.

Xin Yuege.

I've brought the man.

If you renege on your word,

how are you going to live in the future?

He is here.

But you didn't bring him.

I brought him myself.

Qingliu.

You.

Husband.

Jing.

Grandpa.

What a coincidence.

I just happened to be passing by.

Where are you going

so early in the morning?

Grandpa asked me to go find him.

What do you want to say to me?

Oh, right.

Xin Yuege didn't do anything to you

when took you away that day, did he?

What could he do to me?

Well.

I don't know.

If you don't know,

how can I know?

What's wrong with you today?

Nothing.

You can't take it out on me

just because Jiang Yintian sold you out.

You're a grown-up.

You need to analyze the problem rationally.

Besides,

don't you know that

Jiang Yintian is that kind of person?

What about you?

I...

Of course I am the best in martial artist in the world.

And the most righteous hero.

What's wrong with him today?

I came because I care for you.

But you acted like that.

Young men nowadays

are getting worse.

Well.

Hello.

How long should we wait

to get this over with?

I've been thinking for the past two days.

No one in Wulin

can find Boye Jingxing.

Can we find him like this?

That's right.

We don't even know what Boye Jingxing

looks like.

Even if he passes by us,

we can't recognize him.

That's right.

You've been by my side for so long.

Are you Boye Jingxing?

You two have found nothing again, right?

Yes, Young Hero.

We've been here all morning.

Why is there no progress at all?

I have told you.

You have to go out of your way

to be a beggar.

Did you go out of your way?

You should change your profession.

So sooner or later you're really going to starve to death.

Starve to death?

Let's go, Young Hero.

I'll take you to eat.

Let's go.

Grandpa.

Qingliu.

Grandpa.

I guess you called me here early in the morning

to tell me

what happened last night.

Qingliu.

Grandpa had no choice

about what happened yesterday.

In order to catch Boye Jingxing as soon as possible,

I made an appointment with Xin Yuege.

He agreed

on condition of

trading you for Boye King's whereabouts.

I admit it.

I was tempted.

So in fact, I was a thing that could be

freely traded with

in your heart?

In other words,

I am just a pawn

that can be

discarded at any time if you wish.

Of course not.

I didn't make a full consideration on this matter.

I now apologize to you.

Apologize?

I really didn't expect

you to say the word.

It's my fault.

I'll admit it.

I was supposed to

at least talk to you about it.

But I was too eager.

I've already thought about it.

As long as I get the information

about Boye from Xin Yuege,

we'd both get out of it.

I wouldn't leave you to him.

But who knew…

Who knew that Xin Yuege

didn't want to play with you at all.

I didn't think that

he was a backstabbing villain.

But I admire Xin Yuege from the bottom of my heart.

After all, he made things much clear to me.

Qingliu.

You are my only grandson.

You are also the hope of our Jiang family.

You must believe in grandpa.

Can you forgive me?

You are my grandfather.

I should forgive you

no matter what you do, shouldn't I?

You're a good boy.

You won't let me down.

I'm the successor

you've cultivated after all.

Qingliu.

Who are you anyway?

Are you the investors of our Beggars' Gang?

No.

You are still the leader of both of us.

Little leader.

How old are you?

More than ten years old. But my heart's broken and

I feel like I won't love anymore.

You joined the Beggar's Gang at such a young age.

Where is your family?

My family is poor.

In fact,

I have a younger brother.

No one really cared about me.

So I came out myself.

You see, It's not bad

to be on my own, right?

Take

this.

If someone bullies you again in the future,

remember, come to

Foreveryoung City to find me.

Then,

do you two still want to join the Beggars' Gang?

Today, we only

talk about frendship

instead of business.

You'll have to taste the fish first, leader.

What have we got these days?

Maybe it's just to let me

meet this little guy.

Brother.

What do you think is going on with Master Jing?

Since he came back from the

Mt. Jinglecloud, she hasn't been weird.

What's wrong with my idol?

Haven't you noticed?

She's not

asking to have a baby anymore these days,

nor is she eager to catch the fake Boye Jingxing.

What's more important is

she's not answer back to Master Jiang anymore.

This is the strangest thing.

She used to talk back to Young Master Jiang every day.

They're a couple.

The relationship is built on fighting.

My idol, she is…

Master Jiang.

I haven't seen you for a few days.

What for?

Nothing.

I'm just asking.

I can't see you if I have nothing, can you?

I'm just a nobody

in your heat, right?

There's nothing else good

about you.

There is just one item.

What?

Self-knowledge.

Villain, you...

What's wrong with me?

You don't know your own position

and somehow take it out on me.

Villain, can you just be reasonable?

I've been fooled by you for no reason.

What's wrong with me being angry?

I'm just not reasonable.

You really think you're a big shot

that I showed you a respect?

If I hadn't fallen from power,

you wouldn't have had the chance

to tell me what to do.

When I was in charge of jianghu,

you were nothing.

You just look down on me, right?

You just think I'll

embarrass you by your side, right?

My kung fu is not as good as it used to be.

I'm no longer the Master of Wulin.

But let me tell you.

I'll have everything

if I hand you over.

Then do it.

You must have the guts to do so.

Don't think I wouldn't dare.

You just don't dare.

You are a coward, Jiang Qingliu.

You're a loser.

You don't dare to do anything.

You don't dare to fight back.

You don't dare to face yourself.

You don't even dare to say what's in your heart.

Now you know you've been sold out,

all you can do is being sarcastic.

Except for taking it hard on yourself,

what else do you dare to do?

Guys.

You can have a fight.

Don't reveal everything.

You'll confess

everything if you keep going.

Yes, Master Jing.

You should be to blame.

How can you say that?

What now?

I don't know.

Lord Nangong is here.

I didn't know Lord Nangong would come here today.

I'm sorry.

General Song.

Yes.

There is a traitor in the army.

What would you say?

Traitor?

Well.

Your Excellency, please make it clear.

Bring him here.

Go.

This man?

Haven't you always wondered

why General Li would be informed of

the troops we had secretly mobilized?

Could it be him?

General.

He's the one who spread the news.

We caught him red-handed this time.

Tell me.

Who ordered you to do this?

Say it.

Let go of him.

Do you know who I am?

Lord Nangong.

All right.

It's good that you know.

If you don't tell me the truth today,

I'll have your entire family executed.

This is my fault alone.

My family has nothing to do with it.

If you tell me the truth,

I'll protect your family from death.

Do you promise?

I never speak out of turn.

It's the head of the Flying Eagle Sect,

Hua Tingtao.

Hua Tingtao?

I never thought

I was like that in your heart.

I've always defended you.

Cuixue.

Cuixue.

I don't even know where she went.

Bad luck for me on everything.

Okay, okay, stop shouting.

Cuixue.

The old lady called her away just now.

Why is Grandma looking for her?

How can I know?

But I think it's for the same old thing.

She's probably

worried about

the renewal of your marriage.

Renewal of my marriage?

I'm already upset enough

with her.

Damn.

Brother Jiang.

Are you

still fighting with my sister-in-law?

That's enough.

Don't mention her to me again.

By the way,

you have something to tell me today?

Brother Jiang.

Do you remember when sister-in-law

asked me and Yingxue to go

to the Beggar's Gang to inquire

something about Boye?

I really would've forgotten

about it if you didn't mention.

By the way,

did you two find any clues?

We didn't find anything.

So we both think there's

something wrong with this method.

I guess Jing was also deceived by someone.

Maybe.

About the jars of liquor...

I see that you and Mr. Mei

suffered a lot there.

I'll find someone

to send it to you in Foreveryoung City.

That's why I'm here today.

What?

You're afraid I won't give it to you?

No.

Come, sit down.

Here's the thing.

Me and Ying Xue

met some young beggars there.

They all around eleven years old.

They're always bullied and live a hard life.

Since Yingxu

came back from the Beggar's Gang,

he's been depressed and sullen.

I think he may miss his brother.

Maybe it reminds him of the past.

That's right.

It's so strange about Mei Yingfeng.

So many years have passed.

No news from him at all.

Ying Xue and I

haven't given up looking for him all these years.

We've even planted people in the cult.

But there's still no news at all.

This is really strange.

Maybe because he was too young when he was lost.

So seeing how Yingxue looks like these days,

I'm a little worried.

So I wanted to invite you and my sister-in-law

to the Foreveryoung City

to have a drink together and get relaxed.

For one thing,

Yingxue can be relived.

For another,

you and Jing can have a good time

in case you fight again.

I should tell you.

We're not having a fight.

That's a matter of principle.

What's a matter of principle between a couple?

It's a deal.

The afternoon after tomorrow, Foreveryoung City.

Bring her.

I'll see you then.

I promise you

I'll go.

But she

may not.

Neither of you

can be left behind.

See you.

I heard from Chuan Huadie that you're looking for me.

Valley Master.

It's not enough to make the flower dew

of the Rouge Pill.

I think you should go and tell Young Master Jiang

and let him give the order.

I'm not going.

You won't go?

If you don't go, you'll be out of food.

Better be killed than humiliated.

I just won't go.

Then you'll have to suffer hunger.

I will not bow down to that kid even if I die of hunger.

Villain.

Boye Jingxing is not at home.

Then tell her for me.

Mei Yingxue is in a bad mood in the Foreveryoung City.

Gong Zizai

invited me to drink with him.

There is good Red Wine there.

Do as you want.

Mei is also unhappy?

Then I'll go.

I'll drink my sorrows away.

You should know why I am looking for you, right?

Yes, I do.

Can you stop for now?

What exactly did you do to alienate them?

I'm telling you.

I never do anything to make mischief.

I was just stating the facts.

The facts?

I can assure you.

You didn't state the whole truth.

Part of the truth is still the truth.

I didn't lie anyway.

Okay.

Then I'm going to ask you

to go and tell them the truth.

Anyone sensible can see

what's going on between them too.

Then you have to follow the rules.

To resolve the misunderstanding,

you have to meet my conditions.

What conditions?

Finish this game of chess with me first.

Xin Yuege.

You're so childish.

Call it what you want.

This game has been played for almost 30 years.

Mei.

I heard you've been in a bad mood lately.

Who pissed you off?

I'll take revenge for you.

No need, sister-in-law.

It's all an old story.

Let's not talk about it.

All right, all right.

Let's not talk about these unhappy things.

This is good Red Wine from Brother Qingliu.

Come on, let's drink.

You've got the liquor.

But you haven't fulfill

the promise

to make me happy.

Sister-in-law.

Can you stop being so stubborn?

There is nothing that can't get over with

between a couple.

I would like to be generous.

But does someone

have the attitude to make up with me?

I don't want to

mention this kind of thing.

Brother Jiang.

This is your fault.

You can't even handle your family affairs.

How can you face external problems?

It's hard for a just official to settle family matters.

This liquor is the best.

Mei.

I remembered one thing.

What?

You're in a bad mood.

Is it because you can't find your brother?

Have you heard that in jianghu

there's a living fairy who is known

as the Know-it-all.

Are you talking about Xin Yuege?

Yes, that's him.

This man

is known as

knowing everything

in jianghu

as along as it's happened.

If you really have no other way,

you can find him to have a try.

Actually,

I don't have much hope anymore.

It's been so many years.

It should be very unlikely to find him.

It's not true.

Xin Yuege

is very well-informed.

We can give it a try.

But this guy is also very strange.

If you want to know something,

you have to give one thing in exchange.

As long as he is willing to tell me my brother's whereabouts,

I'm willing to agree to any condition.

Mei is such determined.

Unlike someone.

Someone?

What's wrong with him?

Isn't there anything in this world

more important than the truth?

Do people have no feelings?

Can people sacrifice everything

for the sake of profit?

Am I right?

It depends on which is more important.

Stop, stop, stop.

Why are you

arguing again?

Okay.

I'm convinced to lose this one.

My thirty years of desire

is over.

Have you had enough?

Go with me

and talk things over with them.

In fact, have you ever thought that

maybe it's a good thing

for them

not knowing the truth.

Why do we need to make everything clear?

Right.

But

isn't life just a hard journey?

It's good to know.

And it's good not to know.

So

I'm the most miserable person in this world.

You're so right.

All people suffer.

Even people like you

are not immune to that.

In fact,

I've made a decision today.

I don't want to hear you beat around the bush anymore.

Get to the point.

I'm going to

give up telling the world

everything I know.

Because there's no point.

You see?

Jiang Yintian

can trade his grandson for the truth.

For him, the truth

values more than his own grandson.

What use is it to me to have Jiang Qingliu?

Nothing is meaningful

anymore to me.

Well said.

I'm

glad that you can

see that.

Welcome

back to

to the real human world.

All right, Yuege.

I'll leave now.

I shall

see you later.

Will we see each other again?

If you want to,

we will.

And

about the two kids,

don't worry too soon.

They're fine now.

You Villain.

You're a good drinker, aren't you?

Why are you drunken like this today?

Come on.

Jiang Qingliu.

I'll tell you a secret.

You must not tell anyone.

Okay.

Xin Yuege told me

as long as

I hand you over,

he will tell me

the truth about the extermination of the Chillecho Valley.

You know.

I've lived most of my life

for this truth.

But how can I hand you over?

How can I not be handed over?

I'm just an insignificant person.

You're not.

Don't ignore me.

I'll tell Xin Yuege tomorrow.

I won't exchange Jiang Qingliu.

I won't trade him for anything.

What?

Jiang Qingliu kissed you?

That's right.

Are you sure?

I'm sure.

I was going to slap him.

But when I saw it was Jiang Qingliu,

I suddenly

lost my strength.

Look at you.

What does it mean

that Jiang Qingliu kissed me?

He's in love with you.

Yes, that's love.

How does it feel?

Good.

Very good.

Excellent.

Oh, my God.

This is love, right?

Really?

Idol.

No matter what,

as a fan of yours,

I'll support you.

Is this true?

Jing.

Disappear right now.

Let's go.

Why do you come to see me?

Well.

Nothing special.

I just want to see you.

Then can you explain...

what did you mean

by that kiss?

It depends on

how you think of it.

Oh dear, so gushy.

It's so good to be young.

Idol.

I wish you happiness.

You have my support.
