My Dear Guardian

Episode 24

A good young man is wooing.

A fair maiden he loves.

Who am I?

Who am I?

Xue.

Fortunately, you didn't bump your head.

Why are you here?

You're here to visit Master Le Tian?

I want to hear you read poetry.

I tried to call you but couldn't get through.

And I don't have any other form of contact.

I didn't want to write you a letter

so I could only come here in person.

What do you want to listen?

I'll read it for you.

Actually,

after meeting you,

I find that I don't want you to read me the poetry.

Then what do you want?

I want to date you.

The... My... Where're my shoes?

They are here.

Where are my shoes?

Thank you.

Right.

Where are the others?

They're in training.

They're in training, right?

Where are they training?

I guess they're on the field.

Tian Yong, wait for me!

Why do you do this again?

The suspect had evacuated when the

police and I reached the scene.

The police are currently searching for him.

Why is your cousin only one here?

What about Xia Chu?

She couldn't come.

I'll call her hospital.

She is not used to living in the military camp.

Moreover, she can't leave her work behind.

What to do?

She's alone out there.

Aren't you worried?

I asked Rao Zhi to

send someone to look after her.

And she should be fine as she's staying

in the hospital in these days.

Okay, then.

Right,

have you told Xia Chu about her

first love visiting the

police station?

No.

I don't want to stress her out.

Okay.

Don't go so fast.

I just confessed to you.

Why are you so vulnerable to confession?

Just walk slowly, it's not like I'm going to eat you.

Liang Shao Xue!

Brigade Commander, Captain!

Mu Ze, persuade him for me.

Persuade him on what?

She wants to persuade me to get some rest.

No!

Persuade him to date me.

What?

Who are you?

Who am I?

I'm the Brigade Commander.

Is his rank higher than yours?

Don't embarrass yourself, okay?

Brigade Commander, help me to persuade him.

You want me to persuade him to date you?

What's the reason?

I'm outstanding!

Liang Shao Xue!

Let her continue.

I'm starting to wonder how outstanding

this young lady is.

Say it.

Actually,

about being outstanding,

most of the time, it's a kind of self-perception.

More like a delusion.

Are you really my brother?

Tian Yong,

do you like this kind of feeling?

Comrade Liang Shao Xue,

stop messing around.

I'm not messing with you.

I really do like you.

I want to be with you.

Are you not going to stop?

Report!

Speak.

I want to take half an hour off!

Where are you going?

I'm going to the Martyrs Cemetery,

with comrade Liang Shao Xue.

They...

This is the Martyrs Cemetery.

They

are the predecessors and comrades of our army

who had sacrificed over the past few decades.

Martyr Luo Liang

This is the former captain

of mine and your brother,

Luo Liang.

He was born in 1986.

He's young.

Was he married?

He had a child

that lost his father before he was born.

Sister-in-law has been

raising him all these years.

She runs a book store.

It's hard for her.

But this is her own choice.

At the moment she chose this man,

she had already prepared for the worst.

Xue,

you don't understand.

I understand.

Are you not trying to tell me that

you have a dangerous job

so that I can give up on you?

Aren't you afraid after seeing these tombstones?

I'm not afraid.

When I was studying in Paris,

there was a graveyard beside the neighbourhood.

People will have a walk there after having dinner

and chat with their deceased relatives.

The graveyard at sunset

is the most beautiful moment in a day.

Just like now.

Why me?

Because you worship soldiers?

I hate men in uniforms

before I met you.

They could be someone's son,

husband

and father.

But after putting on the uniform,

all that is left is the role

behind the uniform.

They didn't look like themselves anymore.

Then you shouldn't like me.

I have nothing left except

this military uniform.

But you care about my loneliness,

happiness and safety.

You care about my vulnerability

that others couldn't see.

That meant more than everything put together.

Tian Yong,

death can't confine our affection,

it can't scare me either.

Death can't scare you, right?

Right.

Okay.

Three Hundred Tang poems

What about this?

What do you mean?

You're back.

What is this?

You rejected my

little sister?

No.

I just told her

to understand my spiritual world

by memorizing Three Hundred Tang Poems

before deciding whether she likes me or not.

You ask her to memorize Three Hundred Tang Poems?

You ask a classic literature illiterate who can't tell

Li Bai from Du Fu to

memorize Three Hundred Tang Poems.

You're not rejecting her

but humiliating her!

I don't believe that I'm worse than a parrot!

Is that your book?

The book you sleep with?

Yes.

You gave it to her?

I had no choice.

How did she force you?

She didn't force me.

Just that

something strange would happen

every time I came across character with radical of female

when I was reading this book recently.

Every radical of female

would turn into her face.

Captain,

if I have no strange disease,

this only shows that

she is fated with the book.

Tian Yong.

Tian Yong.

Captain!

I can't control my feelings.

But I guarantee that

my every thought

begins with affection

and ends with virtue.

It's definitely pure.

Tian Yong.

Tian Yong!

Take care.

Take care?

You can stay here

but we need to have an agreement.

You need to follow the rules.

Like what? What are the rules?

For example,

you must not mess with Tian Yong.

Why?

What why? Sit down!

You're back for vacation, right?

You'll return to the United States after the vacation.

Is it appropriate to date Tian Yong at this point?

It will work if he likes me.

And then?

And then we'll be together.

How can you guys be together?

The Pacific Ocean separates you two

and you're 12 hours apart.

Then I can stay in China

or take him back to the United States.

He's on active duty.

What do you mean back to the United States?

Won't he be discharged?

I can wait for him.

You wait for him?

How many times have you guys met?

Three times.

You just met him three times and you want to wait for him?

It's normal to have love at first sight,

why is it abnormal to wait for him after meeting him three times?

Can you sit down?

Xue, let me tell you.

Tian Yong has been reading that

Three Hundred Tang poems every day

since I first met him.

I asked him if he'd get tired of it.

He said he could read this book for his entire life.

Look at you!

You had no fewer than

50 interest classes since childhood.

How many times have you changed

your major through your four years of college?

You always act first, think later.

You only have a three-minute passion for everything.

You said you like Tian Yong.

I think you're just being impulsive.

You even want to wait for him?

I don't believe that.

So that's how you see me?

I tell you what.

Lacking self-awareness is

the biggest obstacle in growing up.

I say that applies to you too.

Don't disagree with me.

Liang Mu Ze, I tell you what.

I'm being serious with you.

You don't think it's love because we've only met a few times.

You think the geography and time difference are the obstacles of love.

You think love

only exists when on the same land.

You're wrong!

I tell you what.

Your biggest mistake is

to foist your cognition on me.

Just like Aunt foist her cognition on you.

Congratulations, brother!

You eventually turned into the kind of adult

you used to hate when you were little.

But it's your business, not mine.

Based on my cognition as a 21-year-old,

love is just love.

Everything else means nothing.

So

Just because

you dare not doesn't mean I don't dare.

Nothing is immutable.

Not love

nor my personality.

As for the variables,

you don't have a say,

neither do I.

But

right now, I want to date him.

Xue,

listen to me.

Tian Yong

is not as happy as he looks on the surface,

get it?

You are not as strong as you seem.

So you have be more discreet about this.

You have to reconsider it.

This is very important.

Tian Yong is not someone you can flirt with.

Right?

It's unacceptable

to me in either side.

What's that sound? I'm talking to you.

You just envy me!

Why would I envy you?

Of course you'd envy me.

You're envious that me and Tian Yong

are determined to stay together throughout all eternity.

But your Dr Xia

only puts her heart and soul in her medical career.

You're no match

to even a pinky finger.

Okay.

If Tian Yong still likes you after wrapping

his head around that,

I'll read my name backward.

What's wrong with that?

He'll like me.

He should like me.

I'm so cute.

Moreover, we...

We...

Can you stay by her side for 24 hours a day?

When I show up on her side,

what can you do for her

as you're in the military camp?

Hello.

Hello, Uncle Rao.

Xue came to my unit.

You don't have to worry.

I know.

How did you know?

I installed a tracking program on her phone.

Really?

Here's the thing.

Peng Fei and Xiao Qiang are guarding at the hospital.

Xia Chu is currently fine.

You can rest assured.

And

we found through street surveillance

that Long Yi had fled to the border.

We already informed the frontier armed police

to cooperate in the manhunt.

But so far,

we've got nothing.

What about Zhuo Ran?

Is he still at the police station?

No,

he's in the detention centre.

We'll take him to the police station

when we need to talk to him.

Uncle Rao,

did he explain

why Long Yi came after Xia Chu?

He said he didn't know why.

Do you believe that

he's innocent in T4

criminal chain?

Of course I don't.

This is not my first day as a police.

I've seen many deceptive

criminals with antisocial personality disorder.

They will go to any lengths

to achieve their objectives.

There must be a deeper reason

why that man named Old Master

went to such lengths for Xia Chu.

One thing's for certain.

The division within T4

is getting deeper as Zhuo Ran

chose to cooperate with us

at this point.

That Old Master behind this organization

must be related to the

murders of Sang Kun and Gui.

We don't care about Zhuo Ran's intention.

Our intention is to find

the murderer and establish the truth.

Since he wants to use the police,

in return, we can use him as well.

Okay,

as long as you know what you're doing.

Uncle Rao,

I want to ask for a favour.

Go ahead.

Can you get me a tracker which you

installed for Xue?

Outpatient Department

We should just eat out.

Never mind.

Just eat at the canteen.

There's no much left in the canteen at this time.

We shouldn't eat so full at dinner.

People used to say,

it's better to dine like

a pauper.

Okay, you guys

have been very tense these days.

That's all for me,

you guys can go.

Okay, go ahead.

Okay.

-Yi Chi, -Yes.

keep the former leader company for us.

Rest assured.

Okay, then we'll leave first.

Okay.

Thank you.

You've worked hard.

Take care.

Well, sir,

this way, please.

Okay.

You brat.

Enough, let's go.

The resuscitation of this patient with

paraquat poisoning is a valuable case.

You have to summarize the

problems encountered in

the operation and treatment procedures.

It would be nice to write them up after that.

I have no time to write papers.

Moreover,

my theoretical level is limited.

That's why I leave it to Xia Chu

and another resident.

Please recommend it

when the paper is completed.

Okay.

Xia Chu is a sweet girl.

You're right.

She is not only pretty

but smart too.

The most important is

her ability.

Do you like her?

Of course I do.

I like a smart and

hardworking resident like her.

I mean outside the professional realm.

Don't make a crazy match.

I just cherish

Xia Chu's talent.

There's no love sentiment.

Mainly,

she is not my cup of tea.

I think you've tried many types

but still haven't found the one that fits your taste.

Dad,

to be honest with you.

I already found one.

Uncle,

it's been a long time.

Li Juan.

I wouldn't even know you were here

if I didn't run into Xiao Zhai down the hall.

I happen to bring you lunch.

Okay.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

Right, Zhang Yi Chi,

what did you say

just now?

Right,

you said...

I already found a suitable partner.

Really?

You didn't tell me that.

I didn't get a chance.

This is your fault.

You knew that

uncle and aunt are worried about your marriage.

Why didn't you

notify them as soon as you found one?

We just met.

That's perfect.

You should bring her to uncle and aunt sooner.

So that you won't have to waste

time and effort like we did before.

Right, uncle?

All experience is a lesson in life.

It won't be wasted.

But

it would be best if I could meet her.

Let's make it on weekend.

My friend is opening a restaurant.

The environment is good, the food taste delicious.

I'll ask him to reserve a room for you.

We wouldn't want to trouble you.

Not at all.

It's his pleasure to have you as his guest.

Please help him

to promote his restaurant on

among your friends.

Okay.

His mother and I are okay with that.

But Dr Zhang is busy,

it's all up to him.

Okay.

Then I'll leave you here.

I'm going to check my schedule this weekend.

Uncle, I'll go check him.

This brat is already 38 years old,

but still can't act serious.

Zhang Yi Chi, why are you mad?

I'm helping you.

I have no idea why you

make all this ruckus.

I'm jealous.

I wonder

what kind of woman she is

could make you protect her this well.

Is that funny?

No.

I have to make myself give up on you.

Otherwise, I would be tired to leave

with your bond to me.

Don't act like you love sincerely,

okay?

We've known each other for years.

We know each other well.

What's with your attitude?

Enough.

Dr Zhang,

Liu Ran isn't doing good.

Come and check on her!

Okay, I'll be right over.

Mr Zhang.

How's Liu Ran doing?

Her fever is up to 39.8 degrees and is severely dehydrated.

Dr Zhang, this is Liu Ran's blood results three days ago.

Acinetobacter Baumannii.

Based on previous experience of anti-infective treatment

and some survivors' cases,

I suggest

we use

polymyxin E for treatment.

This is the oldest top antibiotics.

There's no

turning back once we use it.

I know.

Just use it.

Monitor the usage and

the drug reaction.

Use it as soon as possible.

Old Master.

You're not in the office?

I went out to contact the business.

No problem with the buyers, right?

We have a deal.

No problem.

I already arranged the delivery guys.

What about the drop spot?

It's in Black Maplewood.

We'll use T4 logo as a mark.

Tell those villagers that

I'll wait for their return

with their families.

Yes.

Old Master,

he's here.

Send him in.

Yes.

Captain Rao, we lost him.

Somewhere in South-East Asia Willick, T4's headquarters

Many people recommend you to me.

I've seen your profile.

You're good.

Tell me your requirements.

I only want money.

You're straightforward.

I got plenty of money.

The amount you get depends on your ability.

Deal.

Are you sure Long Yi is going to that place?

We'd agreed to meet there.

I have to go help them.

Or else Old Master will get suspicious.

He already has his guard up

against me.

If I don't show up this time,

he'll quickly assume

I've betrayed him.

He still has my mother.

I'll do whatever you want as long as

you can save my mother.

I'll cooperate fully with the police.

Please believe me.

Chief,

we can't hesitate.

This is the best time

to infiltrate T4.

If we let him leave the country,

we'll lose our

only lead if he doesn't return.

I have a plan to contain him.

Furthermore,

after a few days of observation,

I found that, for whatever reason,

there must be some

conflict between him and old master.

So we are on the same page

regarding Old Master.

Chief,

he is our only way to get in.

Okay, then.

You send someone to follow him.

I'll ask for instructions from the superiors.

Inform Interpol for assistance.

Conduct an immediate capture

if things go wrong.

Yes.

Based on the information

provided by the source and armed police,

a group of well-trained cross-border drug dealers

with mercenary-related background,

is using the border population as cover for drug trafficking

to bring in major

shipment of drugs.

This morning,

the frontier armed police has captured

a few villagers who carried drugs.

But

they found no trace of T4.

Based on the comprehensive information,

T4 should be hiding in the jungle

near boundary pillar number 17,

waiting for opportunities.

The superiors order us to dispatch Team Thunder to

assist in searching and catching the criminals.

Take action now!

Are you sure

it's safe?

Safe?

In this world,

there's no such thing.

This is the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

You have illegally entered the territory of China.

Put your weapons down and prepare to be inspected.

Open fire!

Go, go, go!

We've been exposed!

Repeat, we've been exposed! Team B, evacuate!

Be careful! They have snipers!

The target is

at ten o'clock.

He's out of effective range.

Covering fire, I'll take the guy down!

What are you doing?

Who will lead if you're dead?

It's fine.

I'll go.

I'll go.

Cover me.

All units,

lay down suppressing fire at ten o'clock!

Follow me!

Songpaisarn!

Medic! Medic!

I need a medic!

Songpaisarn!

Songpaisarn!

Hands up!

It's a bomb!

Is everyone all right?

I'm fine!

I'm fine!

Tian Yong, control the villagers!

-Keep searching! -Yes!

Turn around!

What are you doing?

Why did you run?

I...

Are you Long Yi?

It's me, why?

Take him!

No.

I...

What did I do?

What's going on?

Someone shot at me just now.

I chased him down here.

But seems like it wasn't him.

We found this in the jungle.

3D printed mask?

Captain Liang,

thank you.

Just leave the rest to us.

Thank you.

Let's go.

Long Yi is arrested.

I understand.

I'm going to Old Master now.

Keep in touch.

Somewhere in South-East Asia Willick, T4's headquarters

Based on the latest information our reporter received,

our national army had recently conducted a joint operation

and took down a group of armed drug dealers

who entered our country illegally at the border.

They confiscated a large quantity of firearms and drugs.

When I reached the jungle near Black Maplewood,

I found that our people and goods were gone.

What about Long Yi?

I haven't heard from him.

I'm thinking

if his disappearance

is related to what happened today.

Whether it's related or not,

China's military police have to pay for the price

as they touched my goods.

It's a shame that we lost him in Willick.

He's again the leader.

We must find a way to mess with him.

Instead of messing with him,

let's go after those around him.

He has a sister.

That Xia...

What is the doctor's name?

Xia Chu.

Is she still staying with him?

Yes.

Get her.

Old Master.

Xia Guang Yuan adores his daughter.

Isn't that perfect?

We can punish Liang Mu Ze

and crush Xia Guang Yuan into submission

by kidnapping Xia Chu.

It's not hard to do this job with the effort you've put into

the father and daughter, right?

It's not hard.

Do you recognise this?

3D printed mask.

If I'm not wrong,

your company

provides 3D printing service.

You should be

familiar with its function.

This mask was

thrown at the river beach

near Black Maplewood.

And you happened to appear at that place.

What were you doing there?

Did you throw away this mask?

On the afternoon on 23rd of January,

it was you again

who appeared at the underground garage of Jianqiaolan Bay

and followed

a female named Xia Chu

to the building

and intended to kidnap her.

Where were you and what were

you doing on

the night of Jan 2?

Don't think that you'll be fine just because

you say nothing.

I tell you what.

We can still sentence you

without a statement.

I want to see my lawyer.

Rao Zhi.

We'll talk about it after getting the report from the laboratory.

I understand.

We used every antibiotics we had.

The Acinetobacter Baumannii in the patient's body

has become antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

It's hard to redress the septic shock

that it causes.

It's meaningless to

keep reviving her.

Is her family here?

Not yet.

Xia Chu!

Where are you going?

I have to search

the prior cases.

Perhaps there're other ways.

Calm down.

Sir, I want to give it a try.

You are a professional doctor.

How can you be this irrational?

I want to try again.

There's got to be another way.

It's impossible, there's got to be another way.

Xia Chu!

Mr Zhang!

-Enough! -Dr Xia.

Liu Ran is calling for you.

Liu Ran,

I'm here.

Don't be afraid.

We just got news from the police.

The criminal has been arrested.

You're amazing.

You're doing great.

Hang in there.

Fight.

Fight.

Thank... you.

There's a letter I wrote

for you under the pillow.

Make sure to read it.

Okay, I'll read it for sure.

Liu Ran.

Hold still.

You'll be fine.

Hang in there.

Sister...

Thank you.

Thank you.

I'll go inform her family.

Have you reached them?

No one answered.

Then just send him a message.

Tell him that Liu Ran has passed away.

He'll call us back.

Why is that?

The operation went well

and every index was normal.

What's with the sudden...

Don't forget about the dinner appointment.

My friend has reserved a room for you.

Can you not talk about

the appointment at this time?

What's with this time?

My patient passed away.

Zhang Yi Chi.

This is not your first day as a doctor.

From the moment you took over this patient,

you should've visualized the worst result.

The relationship between you and her

should be limited at this consulting room,

operation room and the ward,

these three dimensions.

After you leave these dimensions,

you should have your life,

your friends and family.

Your emotions shouldn't

be affected by a patient.

If you were to be affected by

every death of your patient,

you would soon be knocked over.

Enough.

I'm here to remind you

not to forget about the serious matter.
