Qingti.

Your Highness.

We're still friends,

right?

Yes.

Your Highness.

How do you feel now?

Good. I'm almost back to normal.

Your Highness, thank you

for giving me an immortal body.

You died for me in the mortal realm.

I should thank you.

Immortal Qingti.

I'm listening.

You are an immortal now

and you will be ranked

to serve your duty as an immortal official.

You were dead

and your former life was ended.

From now on, you should obey the rules of the immortals

and be a dutiful immortal.

I will.

Now I will cleanse away your mortal dust.

This is the holy water from the Ninth Heaven Jade Pool.

Spirits of heaven and earth are concentrated in every drop of the water.

It takes a hundred year to collect just one drop.

Only the pure and clean water

can cleanse away your mortal dust.

Immortal Qingti.

Your ablution is over.

Thank you, Your Highness.

His Majesty wants to see you

in the side hall near the Qingyun Hall.

Immortal Qingti.

Go to the Qingyun Hall to receive your rank.

You are my peer now.

It'll be a pleasure working with you.

Me, too.

Waking up in spring, I find it boring reading.

Leaning against the railing, I drink tea that is bitter-tasting.

The tea is not bitter though.

Old friends meet again.

How is the reunion scene

performed in opera?

There might be such a line.

"I haven't seen you for years.

Have you been doing well?"

You are the only one among these immortals

who's not ranked yet.

You didn't go through the cultivation process,

so you probably can't do anything well.

I think you should be the successor of emperor

of the Tai Chen Palace.

Among these jobs,

only the management of immortal books

is easier.

Chong Lin.

Yes.

Immortal Qingti, please go to the Tai Chen Palace with me.

You'd better start talking.

I've forgot about that.

I'll tell you when I remember.

The demons are so degenerated to end up with

you being the only demon lord left.

How pathetic!

While you were sealed in the Miaoyi Chasm,

it was we, the degenerating demon lords,

that ruled the demons for over 30 thousand years.

You don't have to feel sorry about it.

Glib talker.

Loser.

What?

I lost to Dong Hua

and got contained by the gods

because of you.

As a demon king, you were subjected to everywhere.

Now Dong Hua has recovered himself.

He will seal you again very soon.

I'd rather be killed by you once and for all

than deal with the mess after you are sealed.

Dong Hua can't regain his cultivation so soon.

The gods. They have all kinds of magic weapons.

The minor injury is not a big deal for him.

He has not only regained his cultivation,

but also sealed the Fanyin Valley.

He has sealed the Fanyin Valley?

I once fell into the Fanyin Valley by accident.

When I got out, I found that my power had increased.

That's when I knew that the unique terrain in the Fanyin Valley

could help with recovering power.

Now the valley is full of

dark energy brought by you for breaking out of the Miaoyi Chasm.

In order to keep dark energy from spilling out,

Dong Hua sealed the Fanyin Valley.

I didn't expect him to recover so soon after leaving the valley.

So the Fanyin Valley played a key role here.

You said you fell into the Fanyin Valley by accident.

Do you still remember how to enter the valley?

Of course.

Why is His Majesty bringing herbal scents here?

He seems to lose a lot of weight.

And he looks so pale.

He's not in a good state.

It would be inappropriate for me

to ask him if he's doing well.

Would you like to have some tea?

Actually, you didn't have to go to all that trouble of looking for me.

I went to the mortal realm just to experience myself.

Eventually,

we would meet again in heaven.

You shouldn't have sealed

the Ninth Heaven Jade Pool.

If I hadn't,

would you show up?

I just wanted to see you.

Xiaobai.

I learned a saying in the mortal realm.

"It is better to forget about each other than to live on each other."

That's so true.

It has been so many years.

How are you and she doing?

Who?

You are still the same.

You still can't tell

what you truly want.

I don't like her much.

But since you chose to stay with her

in the demons,

I have nothing else to say.

I've gone through the hardest time.

I'm doing well now.

And I hope the same for you.

It was my fault

that I didn't make it back in time.

I let Ji Heng go back to the demons.

I did all I could for her.

Is it my departure

that makes you feel like

I matter more than her to you?

Actually I didn't leave out of anger.

You don't need to be like this.

No one matters more than you.

No one matters more than you, Xiaobai.

I waited for so long for you.

You didn't make it to the wedding.

So I thought something happened to you.

I was in a panic.

But my father told me that you were with...

Well, I didn't believe everything they said.

But I was waiting for you to come back

and explain to me.

I would believe

whatever you said.

If you had made it back,

and had told me that no one mattered more than me,

I would have believed it.

But now...

Xiaobai.

I was thinking about what you had said to me

when I was in Qingqiu.

Were they true or not?

But later I understood that

if you like him, whatever he says is true,

and if you don't like him any more,

whatever he says becomes a lie.

In fact, it's unnecessary to hold on to

the details.

I guess

you used to like me, right?

Fate is nothing

I can ask for.

I'm the female monarch of Qingqiu.

I have been trapped in love

for too long.

Now it seems like

we are both doing very well.

Your Majesty,

I guess that's it.

I am not doing well.

Are the people from Qingqiu making trouble with you

because of my relationship with you?

You don't have to be responsible for my reputation.

Why don't we go to Nuwa Empress's place to divorce each other?

I will not divorce you, Xiaobai.

You are my wife

Chong Lin.

After all the twists and turns

Fengjiu and His Majesty have been through,

she deserves to know the result.

If you know anything,

please tell her.

Chong Lin.

Tell her all about it.

I'll begin with the big war

thirty thousand years ago.

Back then, the Demon King Miao Luo was a rebel

against His Majesty who dominated the universe.

So she started killing recklessly,

which triggered the war between the gods and the demons.

When His Majesty was sealing Miao Luo,

she left two wisps of Red Qi.

One turned into primordial spirit blood tear

and was sealed in the Forbidden Land in the demons.

While the baby born in

the war between the gods and the demons

was stained with the other Red Qi in her divine sense.

The baby born in that war was....

...was me.

But

what does it have to do with His Majesty's end?

His Majesty found out about your relationship with Miao Luo

in the Dream of Aranya.

Young punk.

You think you can seal me?

Dong Hua.

It's time for us to end this.

Come out!

You finally show up.

Since you want to end this,

I'll put an end to it.

His Majesty knew he couldn't suppress Miao Luo for long.

So for all these years,

he had to reinforce the seal

to prolong the time.

However,

Miao Luo got her power back

way quicker than expected.

Miao Luo was greatly weakened with her power

and sealed by His Majesty.

How did she recover so quickly?

Miao Luo worked her way out step by step.

She first got Lingbi Stone.

Then she got Red Qi back in Fengjiu's body

while the Dream of Aranya was being broken.

Finally, she managed to get back the demons' holy item, blood tear.

That's why she could break the seal.

At first,

His Majesty and I didn't know about that.

Before the wedding,

Ji Heng coerced His Majesty to meet her

with her father's dragon scale.

Ji Heng wanted to force His Majesty out of marrying you

with dragon scale, which His Majesty couldn't stand.

In the end, he transferred Ji Heng's Qiushui Cold Toxin

all to himself,

so that she could never leave the demons.

But things went wrong with the demons right then.

So His Majesty stayed at the demon clan

not for Ji Heng,

but for Miao Luo.

His Majesty has only loved you

for the whole time.

Your Highness.

Do you know how to remove the Qiushui Cold Toxin quickly?

The quickest approach is to

transfer the toxin all to himself

and then take medicine while cultivating.

That's the approach His Majesty chose.

He'd rather live with toxin

than let the demon princess

bother you in any way.

His Majesty went down to the mortal realm for misfortune

because he spent too much cultivation

when sealing the Miaoyi Chasm.

You know how it went.

His Majesty failed to get all his cultivation back

till the end.

From the day he woke up,

he's been preparing for

purifying the Miaoyi Chasm completely.

The dark energy was gathered for hundreds of thousands of years.

His Majesty had to give out all his immortal cultivation

and at least half of his immortal spirit for that.

But later, he gave away ninety percent of his power

to get into the Dream of Aranya for you.

He was hit even harder for bringing you back in one piece.

And then,

he transferred the Qiushui Cold Toxin

to himself.

The Qiushui Cold Toxin is not the hardest to contain.

The hardest part is that

the immortal who gets the Qiushui Cold Toxin

will have to spend five times the time it normally takes

to recover the lost immortal power.

Since Miao Luo broke the seal,

she's been practicing her demonic magic,

and absorbing others' immortal power.

However, since His Majesty came back from the Fanyin Valley,

he's been getting hurt.

He've got no time for recovery at all.

So he has no choice but to fight back

with the remaining power and immortal spirit.

It's so hard.

Your Highness, you must have been disappointed that

His Majesty didn't show up.

You said you would wait until

His Majesty came back and explained to you.

But you might think

His Majesty was so carried away

that he didn't actually care about you.

You said you would wait for his reply,

but deep down, you were thinking about

going separate ways in the future.

Your Highness, have you ever thought that

His Majesty might have unspeakable reasons?

To be honest, after getting out of the Dream of Aranya,

His Majesty summoned Fate Stone

to ask about his destiny with you.

Fate Immortal told him that

you and he

were not meant to be

and not supposed to see each other forever.

But what caused the change then?

It was Fengjiu's obsession with His Majesty

that touched the Heaven.

So Fate Stone managed to make you destined for each other

with your shadows.

However, Second Prince from the West Sea accidently got involved.

So the shadow couple that should have been destined for each other

didn't work out.

Do you mean Shen Ye and Aranya?

Shadows have no afterlife.

So the Fate Stone has transferred the destiny that failed in the shadow couple

to you two.

That's why you could meet each other decently.

But there's one thing...

What is it?

Well, according to common rules,

your fates should be revised because His Majesty asked the Fate Stone about it.

It's such a pity that

your hard-earned destiny with each other

had to be revised due to the inquiry.

What did His Majesty say?

His Majesty did not fear fate

nor need its charity.

He just tried his best to keep his relationship with you.

But unexpected thing happened

before the wedding.

Fate Immortal was right.

We were just not meant to be.

Not meant to be.

His Majesty was keeping his relationship with you

with his own way.

Maybe he didn't use the right way.

But he has been committed to it,

right?

It's just that no one can win over fate.

But why didn't he tell me?

Right.

Why didn't His Majesty say a word about it?

His Majesty is so much wiser than us.

Of course he knows it's better for him

to tell you.

But why didn't he say a word?

Before leaving, he was worried that without his help

you might not pass the test of

If he had explained everything,

you could have felt guilty.
