Lost Promise

Episode 05

Come on, eat.

All your dishes are served.

Enjoy your meal.

Waiter.

I scouted the terrain nearby yesterday.

This restaurant

should be the closest one to Jinglebreeze Chateau.

On the night of the crime,

did you hear any strange noises

or see someone fishy?

There were few customers that day.

We closed the inn early

when night fell.

I didn't hear anything.

We always receive many customers.

But there is nothing unusual.

If I'm asked to name it,

you guys are unusual.

Although Jinglebreeze Chateau

is not an influential clan,

it became known to Jianghu

having been collecting information for decades.

With all kinds of martial arts formulas in their hand,

even those famous clans

don't dare to challenge it.

Why would it be

wiped out

in one night?

There is nothing that won't happen in Jianghu.

Back in the day,

the most powerful Chillecho Valley

was exterminated by Boye Jingxing in one fell swoop.

You reminded me.

Boye Jingxing

just escaped from Amberverde Mansion not long ago

and then this kind of murder case happened.

Could it be that Boye Jingxing

did this?

What a bunch of ignorant kids.

You dared to slander me,

the great Boye Jingxing,

based on a little hearsay.

That's right.

Don't slander my idol.

Idol?

This young man has a good taste.

He has a great future ahead of him.

Well, don't waste time here.

Let's hurry to eat and get going.

Don't try to play any tricks.

Just come with me.

That's what I'm going to do even if you don't tell me.

I'm a bit interested

in this case now.

Sister-in-law.

But the terrain in Jinglebreeze is varied.

There is a section to walk.

I'm afraid you won't be able to bear it.

Don't worry about me.

I still have my "ride".

Go!

Go!

Someone reported that

Jiang Qingliu and his fellow have arrived at Jinglebreeze. .

Is there any news?

No.

We've done it clean.

They won't be able to find out.

But...

Jiang Qingliu is different from his grandfather.

He likes to meddle in things.

People of that kind

often die early.

Keep an eye on him.

Don't let him ruin our plan.

I understand.

Although I've heard a lot of from you

before coming here,

it's really tragic

when we came to see the scene.

Yes, it is.

Such a strong sect

just got terminated

secretly like this.

It's really incredible.

Actually,

we already investigated it as soon as it happened.

But the killer was really diabolic.

There wasn't any clue left in the scene.

No evidence can be found.

I really didn't know how should we start.

The old master died quite a tragic way

You never came to the scene.

And

there is no name written on the dead record.

How did you know this was the old master?

Jinglebreeze was never known for its martial arts.

Only the old master

was quite accomplished in martial arts.

I've looked at the dead record here.

The murderer was quite meticulous.

He didn't leave a single trace,

only the handprint on this pillar left.

It means that he killed this person

with great difficulty

that he even gave himself away.

I believe

there should be no one else

apart from the old master.

Sis-in-law is right.

The corpse next to this pillar is indeed the old master.

How strange.

What?

I've been in Jianghu for many years,

and know all kinds of martial arts.

But I can't tell

which school or sect

such sinister kung fu belongs to.

There are many different sects in Wulin.

There are indeed some sects are known for their finger power.

But it's still a bit difficult

to analyze and identify

just by some fingerprints.

I think

since the body is not yet coffined,

we should go to the Yamen to see

how the old master's wound is like.

Maybe we can get something.

If we can find out the source of this kung fu,

then

I believe that it shouldn't be difficult

to find out the murderer.

You're quite smart, kid.

You're worthy to be taught.

What's wrong, Brother Jiang?

Nothing.

Let's hurry up.

To serve me,

the most important thing is your sincerity.

If I don't feel

your sincerity,

I might not be able to have spirit to unfreeze it for you.

Yes, yes, yes.

I've put my most precious sincerity

all into the fan.

Can you feel it?

Bah.

Forget it.

Your little sincerity

is not worth much.

Don't just comment on him.

Pour the wine for me.

Okay.

So?

You really know where my idol

Boye Jingxing is?

No one

in this world

knows more about where your idol,

Boye Jingxing is.

Master Jiang.

The bodies of the victims of Jinglebreeze Chateau are here.

Can we see the old master's body?

We've found an important clue.

It should be on his body.

The one in the middle is the old master's body.

Master Jiang, please.

Okay.

What happened!

Where's the old master's body?

Looks like someone beat us to it.

Master.

It is done.

You may leave.

Yes.

I didn't expect Jiang Qingliu to be so smart

that he found the flaw so quickly.

Luckily, we were quick in action this time.

But

it will be trouble to us

with them at Jinglebreeze.

Leave the one who made the mess

clean it himself.

Eleven years have passed.

It's like a dream.

Come on.

Sit down.

It must be boring to look into the case with us.

On the way back, we caught a rabbit for you to kill time.

This rabbit is so tender.

It must taste good.

This room reeks of alcohol.

I'm hungry

and there isn't any Rouge Pellet.

I can only drink some liquor first.

What time is it?

It's past 3 p.m.

I'm sorry.

I forgot it.

Liquor.

How's it going?

What did you find out about the body?

Did you find out what sect it was?

So you got nothing?

It was too late when we got there.

The old master's body was swapped.

The corpse in the Yamen was swapped.

It seems that they're quite something.

But unfortunately,

no more clues again.

Here you are.

Liquor.

Be good.

Let me touch it.

Now you're in trouble.

You're still here laughing at us at this time.

Actually,

there is a way.

What way?

Can I get more to eat if I say it?

Then it will

depend on whether your way works or not.

Draw a snake out of the hole.

Draw a snake out of the hole?

How?

Going by what happened today,

they must be hiding

in the vicinity of Jinglebreeze now,

watching your actions secretly.

Otherwise

they wouldn't be one step ahead of you

to steal the body of the old master.

They went to such great lengths

trying to cover up the evidence

just because they were afraid that you would recognize their kung fu

and know their identity.

Since that's the case,

why don't we just play the game with them?

You can leak out the message

that you've had an important clue.

They will definitely destroy the body

like what they did this time.

At that time,

we'll be able to catch them all.

But we don't have

any real evidence now.

You're so block-headed.

If there's no evidence,

let's create some.

It all depends on our effort.

This is like deceiving the others.

Master Jiang,

have you ever heard the saying that

"All's fair in war"?

Brother Jiang.

I think we can give

this way a try.

I share with his words.

Then

even if

we try these methods.

Will they believe it?

People won't believe it if you say it.

But it'll be a different story

if someone else says it.

Why are you all looking at me?

I asked you to spread the news.

Who told you to rob the girls?

We have no other way.

to spread the news.

You know that.

That's what we do.

We're good at it.

Have you spread the news yet?

Don't worry.

It's the work of a moment.

Cut it out.

Since the news has already been spread,

let's wait for a "hare".

Speaking of which,

where's your rabbit?

It's being roasted outside.

You...

Masters, you've come all the way here.

May I ask the reason?

Master Jiang.

Boye Jingxing escaped from your mansion for many days.

Have you found out where he is?

Boye Jingxing is cunning by nature

and has superb kung fu.

Back then,

we gathered the whole Wulin

to capture him alive.

It won't be that easy

to catch him overnight.

So you're saying

you don't want to capture Boye Kingxing?

You're all clear about

what a painful price

Amberverde Mansion has paid

in order to catch Boye Jingxing.

Even my only son, Shaosang

was also killed on Mt. Vulturesoar.

Master Jiang, don't take

what happened before as a pretext.

We all saw it that Boye Jingxing escaped from Amberverde Mansion.

It's also true that Amberverde Mansion was poorly guarded.

Boye Jingxing now is out there doing evil,

Master Jiang said that you couldn't catch Boye Jingxing in a short duration.

You can't convince us

of Amberverde Mansion's ability to preside over Wulin.

Master Baili.

What do you mean by that?

You all present,

Master Jiang is quite old now

while young master Jiang is not so experienced.

I'm afraid he's not capable enough to be the Master of Wulin.

Besides,

Master Jiang also promised me

whoever captures Boye Jingxing

will be the Master of Jianghu.

What do you think?

Who's talking about me again?

You...

Go over there.

Don't look at me.

Who wants?

I'm the Demon Lord of Wulin after all.

You are also the Master of Wulin.

We're both in Jianghu.

Why are you suddenly so shy?

I want some rouge dew.

I'm telling you.

No dinner for you today.

You're so ungrateful!

You take after your grandfather.

Still no news of Boye King's whereabouts?

Ever since he escaped from Amberverde Mansion,

it's like he's disappeared.

No trace of him.

Good for him.

Having been imprisoned for years,

he's still so difficult to deal with.

But,

you're from the same sect and childhood friends.

You're the only one in the world who knows Boye Jingxing well.

And I believe

only you

can find out where Boye Jingxing is.

Me?

You've regained 30 percent of your power now.

The next transfer will be done in half a month.

Shh.

Someone's coming.

The trap was just set.

Someone has taken the bait.

Jiang Qingliu,

you're too lucky.

Baili Cichu from the Sevenstars?

I'm shocked hearing

the massacre

of Jinglebreeze Chateau.

I passed here

on an errand for my father.

So I came to see

if I can do any help.

Thank you, Cichu.

The case

is going well.

Master Jiang,

have you caught the murderer?

We haven't found

the murderer yet.

But we've found the witness

who has been properly placed.

I believe that within a few days,

the murderer will be found out.

It seems that that brother Jiang has gained a lot

in the two days.

Right.

Mister Baili really knows about

Master Jiang's itinerary.

I guess this must be

Master Jiang's new concubine, right?

Yes.

I heard that your concubine

was taken away by a playboy before.

I'm really worried for you, brother Jiang.

You know these playboys

don't have any pity for girls.

But now it seems

brother Jiang is really tolerant about this.

I admire you.

Admire you.

Filthy people have dirty eyes.

Master Jiang.

Please ask Mister Cichu

to have a cup of tea

and rinse his mouth.

Cichu.

Please.

It seems that your habit

of not drinking tea with your hands

hasn't been changed yet.

You should

be careful next time.

Bring some cold water.

Mister Baili needs to cool down.

Here's the water.

You...

Mother.

Why do you bring me here?

You will be training here from now on.

It's deserted and uninhabited.

Decaying and dilapidated.

It's no better than one percent of the underground palace.

Why do I have to train here?

I have my own reasons.

Don't ask so many questions.

Just focus on training here.

I understand.

Do you still remember

the sixteen sword stances I taught you?

Yes, I do.

Come here.

Master.

Come here.

Help me, Master.

Master.

Don't drive me away.

Master.

I'm a bit tired

resting head on my pillow yesterday.

So I rested on your arm.

Never thought it's comfortable.

Are you okay?

No, I'm not.

I'm hungry.

Go get me a bowl of rouge dew.

I want to preserve my strength today

so I can take care of Baili Cichu.

Here you are.

Although Baili Cichu

appeared at the inn last night,

and at Jinglebreeze Chateau today.

But,

we still can't jump to the conclusion.

Sevenstars is one of the Five Great Sword Sects.

You can't underestimate his father's power.

And we haven't found

any conclusive evidence.

I'm afraid

we can't do anything to him.

You decent sects

are just too old-fashioned.

It doesn't matter if

we have any real evidence.

The point is whether Baili Cichu

thinks we have any evidence.

The more thoughtful he is,

the more he cares about this clue.

It seems that

we have to play the

Empty City Trick tonight.

Take care, sir.

Sir.

Here.

Young master.

Please arise.

What's going on?

Young master.

Something's happened at Amberverde Mansion.

Master wants you to go back.

What the hell happened

that made you come all the way here.

The Master wants you to go back anyway.

It's definitely a big deal.

You'll know when you get back.

Okay.

Go back and tell Grandpa

I'll be back tomorrow.

Young master.

This is very important.

I hope you'll put

the mansion as your priority.

Young master.

Come in. Come in.

I think you should go back with him.

Otherwise, your grandfather

would be furious.

However,

you can go back,

but leave the rouge pellets to me.

Do you think I don't know

what you are thinking of?

If I leave you the rouge pellets,

I bet

you'll run away

the second I leave this house.

How come?

I won't break my promise.

All right, all right.

I admit it.

But this time,

I want to help you with all my heart.

So,

I won't run away.

Why?

You may think

I hate Baili Cichu.

He is arrogant.

And overweening.

And he even tried to put the blame on me.

Let me punish the wicked.

And remove the evils.

It's really a bit unbelievable

to hear it from you.

There is indeed something about me

that makes me different from others.

But

I'm not like you decent sects in Wulin.

Assume solemn airs.

Speak one way and

think another.

I am always open and honest in what I do.

As long as I say it,

I will do it.

It depends on whether you want to trust me or not.

I'll be back soon.

I'll leave this to you now.

Don't worry.

Let's go.

Good.

Sir, sit over there.

Please come in, sir.

Are you having a meal or staying at the hotel?

Eating.

Mr. Mei and Mr. Gong

seem in such a hurry.

Where are they going?

It's just something

related to this case.

I've heard that Miss Jing

likes to have a drink in your spare time.

I have a good pot of liquor.

I would like to invite you to taste it.

Since it's Mr. Baili's kind offer,

how can I

refuse it?

Miss Jing is really straightforward.

Please.

Miss Jing.

Have a bowl.

Good.

It must be very hard for Miss Jing

to follow Master Jiang to investigate

the case these days.

Fortunately, the case is going somewhere.

It's worth it.

Master Jiang is very quick in handling the case.

I'm impressed.

I just have one question.

I heard that Jinglebreeze Chateau was exterminated.

How could there be a witness?

Underneath the corpses,

there's a live witness.

Who is it?

It's a child.

A body held him under,

thus he was saved from death.

He said

he recognized the killer.

This child is very important.

You must protect him.

Don't worry.

We have sent the child to

the Taoist Temple behind the Chateau

and put him in a safe place.

You can just

rest assured.

Then

I'm relieved.

Young master.

Grandpa, I'm back.

Dark clouds cover the moon.

It's not an auspicious sign.

It seems this night is not going to be peaceful.

Grandfather.

What's going on at the mansion

that you were in such a hurry to bring me back?

Put the case of JInglebreeze aside.

From tomorrow,

focus all your energy

on searching for Boye Jingxing.

You must catch him as soon as possible.

Grandpa.

That's why you called me back

in such a hurry?

That's right.

Grandpa.

Boye Jingxing been gone for almost

half a monthin Jianghu.

Amberverde Mansion has also issued a notice.

All the major sects in the world

are looking for him.

I believe we'll hear about him soon.

Why is grandpa in such a hurry?

Boye Jingxing is the greatest devil in Wulin.

Now that he's back in Jianghu,

all the sects in Wulin are watching us.

If we can't find him in time,

there will always be trouble ahead.

Baili Xiechu, it's you.

Qingliu.

You should know what

the position of Master of Wulin means

to Jiang family, right?

I do.

It means

continuing the glory of Amberverde Mansion.

It also means

the responsibility of supporting the justice of Wulin.

From the moment you were born,

you've been entrusted with this mission.

I hope you will always keep it in mind.

Grandpa.

I just don't understand

what the position of Master of Wulin

have to do with

what happened today.

Today, all sects of Wulin

have already come here

trying to suppress

our Jiang family with this.

Now that you've lost all your internal strength,

if we can't catch Boye Jingxing now,

the prestige we've

built up over the last hundred years

will be destroyed.

Is this

the ending you want?

Grandpa.

The prestige of Amberverde Mountain

and the justice in my heart.

I want to know

what choice would

my father make?

Ignorant brat.

Do you really think that you could do anything to me

with your drug?

You can only fool a two-and-a-half-year-old child

with your little game.

Even your father

couldn't disobey my orders.

Then, Grandpa.

Why won't you tell me

who killed my father?

What I told you

is what you should know.

Only the truth is what I should know.

My words

are the truth.

Why are you leaving just after you got back?

I heard there was a problem in the mansion yesterday.

I rushed back in a hurry.

There's still a lot of things I need to do

in Jinglebreeze Chateau.

I need to solve them.

I heard that

you had a bad time with grandpa yesterday.

Right.

Qingliu.

Grandpa is the head of the family after all.

Don't piss him off.

I made some snacks early this morning.

And I made a nice pot of tea.

Take it to grandpa

as an apology.

He has his reasons

while I have my own ideas.

Why should I apologize to him?

Forget it.

You won't understand it even if I tell you.

Wanchan.

I don't need these snacks and water.

Then what do you need?

I'll go get your clothes.

Wanchan.

I can drink water when I'm thirsty.

I can eat when I'm hungry.

And

I will go buy them myself if I don't have any clothes to wear.

I haven't found out the truth

of the murder in Jinglebreeze Chateau.

I don't have a clue about

the succession ceremony.

And I've lost all my internal strength.

I'm just a woman.

I don't understand what you're telling me.

Wanchan.

I don't mean that.

I'm just a little distracted.

Right.

You found Jing?

Yes.

How is she?

She was taken by the playboy all because of me.

She must have suffered a lot.

I'll thank her

if she doesn't let others suffer.

What did you say?

Nothing.

I just said she's doing well.

Just rest assured.

I'll bring her back safe and sound.

You don't have to worry about that.

Okay, I'm going to practice martial arts.

I'll go back first.

You...

Be careful.

Young master.

The horse is ready.

Okay.

Stop there.

Grandpa.

You can leave.

Yes, Senior Master.

Qingliu.

You still decided to go to Jinglebreeze Chateau?

We planned to catch the murderer last night.

But there's been no news.

I'm a bit worried.

Then

you'll leave alone

the chasing of Boye Jingxing?

I've arranged

for my men to investigate it.

They'll report to me

as soon as there is any news.

Arrange?

You know what?

Now all the sects in Wulin are secretly

prying into Boye Jingxing's whereabouts.

But nothing has been found

in more than half a month.

You think a couple of of your men

can find where Boye Jingxing is?

Qingliu.

You shouldn't be such a rash person.

Grandpa.

It won't be done in several days

to catch Boye Jingxing. It won't be done in several days

to catch Boye Jingxing.

I still plan

to investigate it after I settle

this case first.

Now all the sects of Wulin

want to take Boye Jingxing's head

in exchange for the position of Master of Wulin.

Therefore

how to keep the position of Master of Wulin

is the most important.

You don't have to care about

other incidents in Jianghu.

Grandpa

I always thought you're a man who cares about Wulin.

But are the dozens of lives lost in Jinglebreeze Chateau

so insignificant compared to

catching Boye Jingxing?

Do you think that I made you the Master of Wulin

just for the sake of the Jiang family?

Have you thought that

if the position of Master of Wulin

falls in the hands of someone who isn't right-minded,

how much bloodshed and fury

will occur in Jianghu?

So

the position of Master of Wulin must be held by the Jiangs

to ensure the peace of Wulin.

Then don't you consider it for yourself at all?

Bastard!

Is that how you talk to grandpa?

I'm sorry, Grandpa.

Today,

if you dare to take one step out of the mansion,

I won't be your grandfather anymore.

Qingliu.

It took your father's life

to get Boye Jingxing.

Are you going to let him

go unpunished like this?

Baili Tianxiong just sent someone with the news,

saying Baili Xiechu

was captured by Jiang Qingliu.

Didn't Jiang Qingliu already leave Jinglebreeze Chateau?

I find it strange too.

It shouldn't be a problem

for Baili Chuci to fight against Mei Yingxue

and Gong Zizai with his power.

What a loser.

What should we do now?

Should we send someone to bring back Baili Cichu?

Woman's kindness!

He's just an abandoned chessman.

What's the use of keeping him?

Qingliu.

I still mean it.

The most important thing right now

is to catch Boye Kingxing.

Can't beat me.

Come on, come on, come on.

You old man.

You're the master of Amberverde Mansion.

I didn't expect you to hurt me with a hidden arrow.

Who are you?

How dare you trespass on Amberverde Mansion?

Do you want to die?

Master Jiang.

Please help me.

I haven't seen my idol yet.

I don't want to die.

Who was chasing me for money

and secretly calling me stingy?

Master Jiang.

Forgive me.

The me you saw before

isn't the real me.

I definitely didn't mean it.

How about this?

I won't want

the money you owe me.

You have to talk to this

unreasonable old man.

What did you say?

Grandpa.

I do know this man.

He did help me a lot with

the case at the Jinglebreeze.

How long do we have to go to get there?

We should be able to reach

Amberverde Mansion before sunset.

Well.

You've got the legs better than ten good horses.

No.

The fastest horses.

Why are you still drinking?

Do you know that you're a drunk driver?

If I accidentally hit the flowers or plants,

you'll be fully responsible.

Stop nagging.

I've managed to get the Rouge Dew from

Jiang Qingliu.

It'll be wasted if I don't drink it.

Didn't your mother teach you that

every grain in your plate

is hard work.

It's a shame to waste food.

You just won't

let go any of the liquor.

It's called enjoy while I can.

Be gentle.

Don't spill my liquor out.

My goodness.

My goodness.

You must not spit on me.

I'm telling you,

I have a a morbid fear of getting dirty.

If you throw up,

I won't live.

Okay.

You've been so hard carrying me.

Of course I have to

fulfill your wish.

Why are you here?

It hurts, it hurts.

What's wrong?

Right.

How is it going

at Jinglebreeze Chateau?

Since Master Jiang and Miss Jing had ordered us,

of course we were willing to die for it.

Get to the point.

The point is that we've already

almost got Baili Cichu.

Great.

Miss Jing asked me to deliver a message to you.

I've been on the road non-stop,

flying all over the place.

I never thought the moment I got here,

my cute butt.

By the way,

how is Jing and the others doing?

I've been complaining to you for so long.

All you care about is them?

Tell me

where they're now?

They're now

on their way back from escorting Baili Cichu.
