Lost Promise

Episode 02

Shang Xin.

Your Ambrosia Valley's the famous Herbalist Valley.

You and your father

are considered to be the best physicians.

Even you can't save Qingliu?

We received many kindnesses from the Jiangs.

Qingliu and I are childhood friends.

I'll do anything I can to save him

even if it'll cost my life.

But your Ghostimage Skill is unique,

plus you've reached level 9.

Your internal energy

is too strong for me to control.

What he can do now

is to recuperate.

Let's make a plan when his life's secured.

The people of Wulin

will be useless if we lose martial arts.

Then what's the point of living?

Anyway,

no matter how strong that woman will be,

don't let your Qi pass Zhongting.

Otherwise you'll get Qi Deviation.

Certainly,

there's a way.

Shang Xin.

Is it possible to transfer my internal energy

all into another person

who's also strong?

I'll take it back when I get well.

Can I restore my power in that way?

It seems workable,

but it's too risky.

Different people cultivate in different ways.

Besides, a person's Meridians

can't bear too much strength.

There're not

so many people who can stand the 9th level

of your strength.

Even grandpa Jiang...

How about this?

Grandpa?

The Sects of Wulin are still here.

I'll go to pacify them.

OK, grandpa.

Shang Xin.

Prescribe for Qingliu

to recuperate.

How's Qingliu?

He's fine.

He just has some internal injury.

He just needs to recuperate.

Wanchan.

Take Shang Xin to the pharmacy.

Learn from her.

If she leaves for business,

you can decoct medicine for Qingliu.

Yes.

Lady Shang Xin, come with me.

Let's go.

To Center Hall.

Fan Susu, Madam of Yin-Yang Clan

Boye Jingxing's so stubborn.

Our people saved him,

to think he killed them and ran away.

Wei Xiao, Yin-Yang Clan

Did the other people recognize your martial arts?

I didn't need to

use Yin-Yang Clan's martial arts to deal with them.

But Jiang Qingliu

is really somebody.

Ghostimage Skill

deserves its reputation.

It's just a branch

of Diurnal Heart Sutra,

yet it's so strong.

So the one who learned

the whole Sutra will be invincible.

What a shame.

We have it in our hands,

but we can't get your father's 8 formulas.

I'm afraid

it's harder to catch Boye Jingxing since he escaped

from the dungeon of the Jiangs.

If I had made the Eternal Elixirĸbefore,

Boye Jingxing wouldn't be my match

even he knew the 8 formulas.

It's been 11 years.

When can I learn the 4th level?

Master Hua.

Could you just sit down?

You're making me dizzy.

Boye Jingxing, that demon escaped.

How can I sit still?

Master Jiang,

Amberverde Mansion has been the head of Jianghu.

We all follow your orders.

That was why we felt safe by keeping

Boye Jingxing here.

Now he escaped from here.

No one knows his whereabouts.

It's quite possible he'll hurt us again.

Shouldn't you give us

an explanation?

It was indeed

our mistake today.

I'm giving you a promise.

I'll catch Boye Jingxing

even if it'll cost my life.

That said,

I wonder if you can make it.

If there's another surprise,

can you take the responsibility?

Masters,

it's pointless to

blame someone.

Our priority

is to catch Boye Jingxing at once.

Boye Jingxing was imprisoned for 11 years.

He's confused

and weaker than before.

I'm sure he can't go too far.

The only way

is to issue a wanted circular.

Let's join forces

to catch him

and bring him back to our dungeon.

I told

my subordinates to post

his paintings around Lin'an.

I'm sure we'll have

clues about him soon.

It's late.

Masters, please go to rear hall for dinner.

Please spend the night here.

We'll try to hunt Boye Jingxing down

as from tomorrow.

Qingliu's Qi and blood are congested.

Except the medicines I told you just now,

Dong Quai

and Dutchmanspipe Vine

are necessaries.

When he takes the medicines twice,

you may add some ginseng and pilose antler.

By the way,

the residue of the medicine is useful.

Grind it

and apply it

on Ruzhong and Qihai.

My lady,

granny told the cook

to make Ginseng Chicken Soup

and green dumplings for Young Master.

My lady,

you need something else?

I'll send these to him

if you're alright with them.

No.

Put them on the table.

I'll do it later.

Yes.

Shang Xin.

I heard Ambrosia Valley

is able to cure

all kinds of diseases.

Of course.

I haven't met any diseases

I can't deal with.

Certainly,

Qingliu's injury this time doesn't count.

I also heard

you and your father

can cure diseases and heal wounds respectively.

Don't mention him.

My father's a good physician,

but he's unreasonable.

In my opinion,

he's a miser.

You can't say about your father like that.

Shang Xin.

In fact,

Qingliu wasn't so healthy

before he got injured this time.

I...

Why didn't I find it

when I diagnosed him?

How's he?

What's his problem?

It's not necessarily a problem.

He just...

got tired easily.

That's normal since he was busy.

Boil some water with old ginseng

to vitalize him.

I've been doing that.

Shang Xin.

Well...

What's up?

Why're you so coy?

Just tell me the truth.

Shang Xin.

You know any prescriptions

of carrying a baby?

You have a baby?

Listen to me.

I can't prescribe rashly to protect the fetal.

Come on.

Let me feel your pulse.

No.

I mean the one

which can make him want to have a baby.

Make him?

No.

Qingliu.

Grandpa.

You just take care of yourself.

Don't mind other things.

Okay.

There's one thing the most important.

Tell nobody that you've

lost your internal energy

until you're fully recovered.

Otherwise...

Trust me, grandpa.

I know it crystally.

Two matters happened to our family.

First,

Boye Jingxing escaped from here.

Second,

you lose all internal energy.

You can't be the Master of Wulin

if you fail to deal with one of them properly.

In that way,

there're alternates for that position.

Even the Bailis

are craving it,

let alone the Masters of eight sects.

Take it easy, grandpa.

I'll never

let that happen.

Good.

So long as you get it.

Grandpa.

I want to ask you one thing.

Yes?

I was going to kill Boye Jingxing

as you told me

in the dungeon.

But Boye Jingxing told me

he didn't kill my father, Jiang Shaosang.

What else did he say?

Nothing more.

But he refused to admit it.

That's why I want to confirm it with you

if he did kill my father.

I've told you numerous times

since you were a kid.

During the battle of Mt. Vulturesoar,

your father was killed by Boye Jingxing,

so were two of our servants.

I was wounded severely, too.

I risked my life to catch him.

You've been in Jianghu long.

When did you see

a villain admitted his crimes actively?

If Boye Jingxing

was a person who'd admit his crimes,

would he become the demon

everyone wanted to kill?

Think about it.

It's dry weather.

Use fire carefully.

AquamarineĸHouse

Shang Xin.

If I transfer my internal energy

into another person

and take it back gradually.

Can I restore my power in that way?

It seems workable,

but it's too risky.

There're not

so many people who can stand the 9th level

of your strength.

Kid, you have some conscience.

You're much better than your treacherous grandpa.

Stop it.

I told you not to let your Qi pass Zhongting.

So,

now you get it?

That's why we say

if the old dog barks,

he gives counsel.

Besides,

you're not my match

even you're safe and sound,

let alone you lost your strength.

I wonder if you're the match of Longer Life Pill.

Kid, you know how to talk back?

I suggest you

to release me.

I'll help you

with my Qi when I'm happy.

Release you?

Fine.

I'm afraid

you won't survive tomorrow when you leave

without Longer Life Pill.

Shameless kid.

So you don't want to restore the strength?

How can you do it?

I heard all what

that little girl said.

Why don't you use your mind?

I'm the best fighter

recognized by Wulin.

Your Ghostimage Skill

is just one of Diurnal Heart Sutra.

But I learned it first,

then the 8 formulas.

You want to find someone to transfer the strength

and take it back gradually.

Is there another one

in Wulin who learned

Diurnal Heart Sutra except me?

You really can do that?

Of course.

But

your family imprisoned me 11 years,

you can't

just ask me to do that.

What do you want?

Well,

I'm hungry now.

To be precise,

I'm greedy.

I really want to send you back to the dungeon.

But you won't.

You know I'm the only one who can help you.

Name your price.

I need a year

to figure out an old matter.

Qi Deviation can't be healed too soon.

I guarantee that you'll

restore the strength in a year.

Why should I trust you?

You don't need to trust me.

I may go back to the dungeon at the worst.

I'm adapted to it.

But things are

different to you.

Am I right, Master Jiang?

Okay.

I agree.

But you must keep

showing up in front of me during this period.

I agree with it

if you can do that.

I can send you

back to the dungeon now if you can't.

Deal.

Oh,

one more thing.

You must tell me

the truth about my father's death.

My lady.

Still no news?

No.

Boye Jingxing's impressive.

He vanished at once

even he was imprisoned 11 years.

I sent our men to each pass.

He won't go too far

in that condition.

He refused to come,

that meant he want to find someone.

Where will he go?

I don't care whom he wants to see,

but I'll take the revenge

for the death of my father.

Yeah.

The death of your father.

Qingilu.

It's Wanchan.

Qingliu?

Qingliu?

Wanchan.

What happened?

Why're you sweating?

I went out for a walk.

That's why.

I thought you were in the study.

I was going to enter.

The maids said you were hungry.

So I brought you some dim sum.

Let me take them inside.

I'm hungry now.

Look, Wanchan.

I've got some business to do.

I'll be late.

Let me keep them.

You may go back.

Will you go back to sleep?

Wanchan, as you know.

Too many things happened today.

I need to handle them tonight.

I guess it'll take too long.

So

I'll sleep here.

You should go back.

All right.

Take care of yourself.

OK.

Boye Jingxing.

Boye Jingxing?

You're back.

Boye Jingxing?

You're a woman?

So what?

Look.

I didn't ask for water to bathe.

Your little servant

sent it here.

Relax.

No one knows

I'm here but you.

To think Boye Jingxing's a woman

and no one ever found it.

Tell me.

You're really Boye Jingxing?

I've never changed

my name.

I'm still Boye Jingxing when I'm washed clean.

My lady.

This's your favorite vegetable.

It's good for your health. Eat more.

Where's Qingliu?

My lady.

He doesn't feel so well.

He told you to eat first and don't wait for him.

What ails him?

Young Master said

he felt tired

and didn't want to walk.

I told the cook

to send supper to his room.

Did he take the medicine

according to Ms. Shang Xin's prescription

Master.

Young Lady told the cook to make it

and send it each day on time.

But...

But what?

But he seems weird today.

Weird?

He suddenly has a good appetite.

That's unexpected.

He hasn't just eaten up all meals,

but dim sum.

That's a good thing.

Wanchan, take a look at him later.

Be a thoughtful wife.

Say something considerate.

Yes.

You may leave.

Tell the cook to do anything Young Master likes.

Yes, Master.

Why am I so ill-fated?

My son died before me,

now my grandson becomes this.

Are we going to lose all our offsprings?

Forget it.

Eat.

You don't want to eat

those good dishes?

You don't know you're lucky.

When will you heal me?

You're in such a hurry?

I thought

Master Jiang's strength

could help him to survive another day.

Cut the crap.

You begin to miss

the life in dungeon?

Not at all.

You!

Come on.

What else do you want?

Longer Life Pill.

Don't you want to be healed?

You forgot it?

Who turned me into

this weak body?

Were it not for the Pill,

how would I

behave so kindly to you

in this shabby room?

So you know it.

It's a fair deal.

Hey.

Seriously?

The clear rises, the turbid drops.

Qi goes back under navel.

Lift your Hui Yin.

Raise your Qi to the top.

Breathe smoothly.

Lower your Qi to Dantian.

Adjust your inner breath.

I've transferred three tenth

of your strength to me.

Considering your condition now,

you should rest.

Three days later,

I'll take two tenth more.

OK.

Who?

Young Master, it's Cuixue.

What's up?

They said

Master wanted to

see you in the study.

You may leave.

Yes.

Grandpa.

You want to see me?

Grandpa.

What do you mean?

I'm worrying about you.

I want to see

your condition now.

Relax, grandpa.

I am

much better now.

Did you take Ms. Shang Xin's

medicines on time?

I did.

Then rest well to heal.

Restore your strength quickly.

You're the Master of Wulin.

There're many important things for you to handle.

OK.

By the way, grandpa.

I want to ask you something.

All right.

Are you sure Boye Jingxing's a man?

How could he be a woman?

Look,

I got news from Stunnedwind Dock,

saying Yin-Yang Clan is on the move.

You must catch Boye Jingxing

before him.

So your position of Master of Wulin

will be consolidated.

All right.

Go to rest.

Then I'll take my leave.

Young Lady.

Young Lady.

Is Qingliu inside?

Master met him just now.

I don't know if he came back.

Let me take this.

I'm good.

I'll give it to him myself.

Qingliu, are you here?

I'm here to send you the medicine.

Ms. Shang told you

to drink it when it was hot.

Qingliu, you...

I put it on the table.

Do drink when it's hot.

Qingliu.

I want to tell you something.

I know you don't feel well recently.

But you're Master of Wulin now,

you'll be busier in the future.

If I don't say it now,

I won't have the chance later.

It's...

It's...

We've married 2 years.

Granny blamed me for

having no baby again today.

I'm not complaining.

But

if you keep treating me like this,

when can we

realize her wish?

Never mind.

Just rest.

I'm leaving.

Jiang Qingliu's wife.

Interesting.

If you die,

the whole Jianghu

will be mine.

All Masters are left for their home,

yet you two came to see me so early.

So, had nightmares

in my mansion?

Boye Jingxing escaped

right in front of Master Jiang,

I'm wondering if your people

had a good night.

So you came to accuse us

or to kick us when we're down?

Former Master,

we heard New Master had a severe disease,

so we came to pay a visit.

We're fighters.

Fighters get ill, too.

As for Boye the Villain,

Qingliu and I have cast a wide net.

Soon

we'll have his head.

Though Boye Jingxing was imprisoned 11 years,

but his power

can't be underestimated.

What if you

can't get him?

So what do you suggest?

If I catch Boye Jingxing,

will you give me Dragon Seal?

That depends on

whether you can make it or not.

OK.

That's what I want.

So,

Former Master,

farewell.

Farewell.

Ningxiang, look.

The lilies showed no sign of bloom before,

look at the flowers now.

Pick more.

Granny likes their aroma.

She said it's light and fresh.

Miss.

She treats you in that way,

why're you still so kind to her?

Granny does that for my and our family's sake.

You don't get it now.

You will when you get married.

I won't marry.

What if I have a bad mother-in-law?

Nonsense.

I'd rather always be with you.

Stupid kid.

Excuse me.

You get lost?

You're so brilliant.

You are?

You don't know our Young Lady?

This's New Master of Wulin,

Jiang Qingliu's wife.

So you're Ms. Jiang.

I just came here.

Forgive me for having not

recognized you.

No need to be so courteous.

If you came here to appreciate the flowers,

make yourself at home.

I can show you the way

if you get lost.

Well...

Something wrong?

Can we talk in private?

Why did Qingliu tell you about

our private life?

It's no longer a secret to me.

Brother Qingliu

used to adventure in Jianghu.

We're close friends.

So he asked me about it.

I agreed to

help him

on this matter.

So,

what will you do?

I know a brilliant doctor.

I'm sure he'll handle your issue successfully.

I can tell you how to

find him right now.

But...

But what?

I wonder if you could

do me a small favor, too.

It's a pleasure to help people.

Sure I can.

Here's the thing.

Brother Qingliu told me

your family's Longer Life Pill

can keep people young.

My mother has a severe disease

at home now.

She wants to be young before she dies.

I wonder if you could

find some for me,

so her wish can be fulfilled.

It'll also fulfill my duty as a son.

I admire your love for your mom.

But

I haven't heard of that medicine.

Since Qingliu mentioned it to you,

why don't you ask him for that?

Well,

I don't want to

bother Master with some pills.

After all,

there're so many things in Wulin

he's worrying about.

Besides, he's ill now.

Look,

meet me at 7 tonight

at the gate of the garden.

I'll bring the doctor here.

Do take the pills

to see me by then.

But I've never seen

such a pill.

What shall I do?

It's a blood red pill.

Be there or be square.

Sir?

Villain.

Villain?

Villain?

Villain?

Hi.

Villain.

Can't you stay put in the room?

It's too stuffy there.

I need some fresh air.

And take a tour in your mansion.

What a grand family!

Magnificent.

Did you meet the others?

No.

Mr. Jing.

Master?

You woke up?

Sir.

Here're your refreshments.

What's this about?

Master.

Mr. Jing said he saved your life.

He's such a great benefactor

to our Jiangs.

Mr. Jing?

Great Benefactor?

You're flattering me.

It was as easy as pie.

Not a big deal.

What's wrong, my Lady?

You seem unsettled.

My Lady.

Ningxiang.

You may go back.

I suddenly feel stifled.

I need some air.

Why not let me stay with you?

I'm good.

Go back to prepare hot water for bathe.

I'll be back soon.

Yes.

Want this?

Take it with you.

Go back earlier, my Lady.

It has many mosquitoes here.

Didn't you let me meet you in the garden?

I was afraid you couldn't go there at night.

So here I am.

So,

did you

find the pills?

I got them from

uncle Li of Herbs Pavilion.

See if they're what you want.

The doctor is occupied.

Go to see him according to this address.

Tell him

a man surnamed Jing

introduced you there.

Our deal is done.

You should go back to rest.

Go ahead.

Imp of Jiang.

All is fair in war.

Today

I'll teach you

one last good lesson.

Wanted: Boye Jingxing

Let me see it.

Who's that?

Let's go.

Chuan Huadie, the biggest playboy in Jianghu

Brother.

It's your hero,

Boye Jingxing who's free now,

not you.

Why did you fly around on the street?

What do you know?

That's my hero I've been waiting for 11 years.

I, Languid Guest, is blessed.
