Soccer is a game where one team

tries to kick a soccer ball into the other team's goal.

But I have a big question. What's a team?

a bunch of players.

Almost. But we should probably have a mascot.

What's a mascot?

Uh, Emma, we have a question.

[whispers] How do you play soccer?

Excellent question, Doug.

There are two things you need to know about soccer.

First, you need to kick this ball into the other team's goal.

The other thing is to stop the other team from kicking it into our goal.

The goalie guards the goal.

-Mr. Forkrick-- -Huh?

You're really good at protecting things.

You'll make a great goalie.

You can even use your hands. Or forks.

Protective mode, activated. [beeps]

No ball will get past me.

Okay, Doug. Robo-kick that ball right into the goal.

Mr. Forkrick, you try to stop it.

How hard should I kick, Emma?

As hard as you can!

[grunts]

Now you try and make a goal, Mr. Bot,

while I try to get the ball away from you.

Welcome to the Mega City soccer game!

Let's give our teams a warm welcome.

It's the Rechargers versus the Quick Kicks.

My gears are roaring, Emma.

I think we can score some goals.

You bot we can!

[whistle blows]

That Recharger's gonna need longer legs to stop that passing game.

[Kath] The goalie makes the stop!

No goal for the Rechargers.

[Emma] Huh?

Whoa, how did they do that?

Oh, yeah. Here goes Jenny Droneberg,

and she's flying and dribbling and rolling and she's-- [gasps]

...losing the ball?

[laughs] That's number two for the Quick Kicks.

[whines]

[Kath] One-of-a-kind moves from the Rechargers!

And now to take the shot all by myself.

First the windup... Huh?

Oh, that is bad news for the Rechargers.

They lost control of the ball!

-[Jenny whirs] Wh-Whoa, whoa, whoa! -Huh?

[groans]

[grunts]

And another great shot from the Quick Kicks!

[whistle blows]

It's three goals for the Quick Kicks

to no goals for the Rechargers as we start our halftime break.

I can't believe the game is half over,

and we haven't scored any goals.

I don't get it, Emma.

If we're such great players, why can't we score?

That is a very good question, my shiny friend.

[munches]

Huh. Good teamwork, Bots.

Wait a minute! Teamwork!

Doug, that's it!

We need to use teamwork to score goals.

What's teamwork, Emma?

It's everybody working together.

It's what you just did with my orange peel.

Mr. Bot to Jenny to Doug to Mr. Forkrick.

He shoots, he scores. Bam! Into the bin.

Is the other team using teamwork?

You bot they are!

Look at her pass to him, he passes to her and then goal!

That's how they score.

I get it! We may have great players on our team,

but we need to use teamwork to be a great team.

[Barb] And we're back for the second half.

The Quick Kicks have the ball.

-[Kath] What a save from the Rechargers! -[Forkrick] Whoo!

-[grunts] -Okay,

let's get this teamwork going.

[Kath] Oh, look at the Rechargers working together.

[grunts]

The Rechargers are on the board!

All this teamwork is really paying off.

If we score this next goal, will we win?

[grunts, whirs]

Uh, Emma, we have a problem.

[grunts] I need a recharge.

Oh, no! Our rechargers are back at Rebots. How can we help?

I'll be the mascot. He'll play.

I may not be able to fly, but I can still cheer.

What an incredible display of teamwork from the Rechargers, Kath!

[whistle blows]

That's right, Doug.

You were right, Emma.

I learned how even though we make great players,

our teamwork is what made us a great team.

[Bob, Doug] You played a good game.

Being a soccer team really perked up my processors, Emma.

Now we could be like a team back at Rebots.

Work sure did pile up while we were playing soccer.

I'll say. I'll be rebooting nonstop for days.

Not if we use teamwork.

Okay, Doug. Now that there's only three puzzle pieces left to go,

each one gets its own celebration.

And we're gonna solve it.

Just like Greta Gumshoe,

the greatest detective ever.

Since I started reading the Greta Gumshoe Mysteries,

I've gotten pretty good at solving mysteries.

And now I'll need my best pal to help solve my biggest mystery yet.

The mystery of the missing puzzle piece!

I'll help you, Emma.

But first, I need to plug in and find out what a mystery is.

[woman] ♪ When there's no clear explanation ♪

I get it.

Mysteries are when something goes missing,

and you need to figure out where it went.

Just like we need to find our missing puzzle piece.

But I still have one big question.

How do you solve a mystery?

You solve a mystery by finding clues.

Great! Let's unplug to find clues.

Wait. What's a clue?

A clue gives us information that can help us find our puzzle piece.

Like when Greta Gumshoe found chicken feathers,

they led her to the priceless portrait in farmer Daniel's chicken coop.

We need to find something unusual.

Something that wasn't there before the piece went missing.

[Doug gasps] These wet footprints weren't here before.

Great work, Doug.

Doug! Those are your footprints.

I think you stepped on our first clue, kid.

This trail of water definitely wasn't here before.

-Worka, worka... -Great detectives take pictures

so they don't forget important details.

Now we just need detective hats.

-All right! -Whoo-hoo!

And we're ready to follow this trail of water

straight to the missing puzzle piece.

[Critter Bot laughs]

[chitters]

-[Doug gasps] -Oh, no! The trail ends here.

So what should we do now, Emma?

We need to spread out and look for another clue.

There's gotta be one around here somewhere.

-[Critter Bot] Aha! Beep boop boop. -Huh?

Emma, Emma, Emma!

What do you got, Bot?

Beep beep boop.

My system detects a pile of suds.

[sniffs] Lemony suds.

If we find what made these lemon-scented suds,

maybe we'll find the puzzle piece.

Exactly.

And we'll finally get to finish our puzzle.

The question is how do we figure out what made the suds?

I've got it!

We just need to do what Greta did in The Mystery of the Crown Jewel.

Greta found some smelly socks

that belonged to whoever took the missing jewel.

Then she had her dog sniff the sock

and track the scent all the way to a hidden room in the house.

Ta-da!

She found the jewel.

Critter Bot has a built-in microchip that makes him a super sniffer.

[Critter Bot sniffs] Whoo!

[chuckles]

Robo-skates, activated.

-To the puzzle piece! -Whoo!

Detectives coming through!

Whoa! Bot on the move!

Go, Critter Bot. Go!

[Emma] Track that lemony-sud scent!

-Ooh. -[tires screech]

More suds?

Critter Bot didn't lead us to the missing puzzle piece,

-but he found another clue. -Beep boop.

-Hmm. -Worka, worka...

What could have made all these lemony suds?

And why would it want to take our puzzle piece?

[gasps] Maybe one of these robots saw what made the suds.

We need to interview anyone who might have seen what happened.

Great idea, Emma.

-[Emma] Safety Bot! -Ahh!

Did you make these lemony suds?

What? No!

Oh. Then do you know who made these suds?

No, but if I did, I would be writing them a safety ticket

for leaving suds in the middle of the floor.

Someone could slip on them.

Safety first!

[Emma] Hello, Jenny.

-Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. -Emma, Emma, Emma.

Did you see who made these suds?

Nope. Nada. Nothing.

If there was anything sudsy on this landing area,

I would've seen it.

[both sigh]

[Doug] Hi, Uncle Forkrick.

Did you see who made the suds?

Well, I caught a glimpse of something going by

right before those suds showed up.

[gasps] You did?

Mr. Forkrick, can you describe what you saw?

Oh, in great detail.

Fantastic!

And, Doug, can you use your robo-art to sketch it?

I'm robo-ready, Emma.

All right, Mr. Forkrick. Don't leave out any details.

Well, uh, I think it was small.

Small.

And green.

Small and green.

Oh, and it was round.

Small and green and round.

-And? -And...

And?

And...

that was it.

-That's it? -Did you get all that, Doug?

Mm-hmm. Did it look like this?

That's exactly what it looked like.

Thanks for your help, Uncle Forkrick.

We have three clues.

The water trail, the suds and the drawing of a green circle.

But we still haven't found the puzzle piece.

-Worka, worka... -What do we do now?

Well, Doug, we need to do what all great detectives do.

Search for more clues.

To the patrol car!

Patrol car?

[imitates siren]

Wait. Where are we going?

To find more clues, so we can find our puzzle piece.

And finish our puzzle! Let's hit the gas!

But I'm electric.

[imitating siren]

-Wait. What's that? -[beeps]

Beep boop. Beep boop. Beep.

A piece of string. Could be a clue.

[shutter clicks]

-Hi, Mom. -Doug. Emma. What's computing?

Emma and I are trying to solve a mystery.

Mrs. Bot, have you seen this circle?

You know, I did see something like that.

-Really? -Where?

I was watching you two do the puzzle,

and when I turned away, I heard a strange noise.

It sounded like, "Worka, worka, worka."

When I turned back around, I saw a green circle whiz by.

[gasps] Another clue!

Whatever the green circle is, it makes a "worka, worka, worka" sound.

Thanks, Mrs. Bot.

You may have just blown this case wide open!

Let's go find more clues!

-[shutter clicks] -[Doug] Okay,

maybe there are no more clues left to find.

So, we didn't blow the case wide open.

[sighs] I don't get it.

We found lots of clues.

But we still can't solve the mystery of the missing puzzle piece!

[gasps, sighs]

Guess I'll never know how humans solve a mystery.

[chitters]

But at least we tried to solve it together.

Together! Doug, that's it.

Finding clues is just the first part of solving a mystery.

The second part is putting the clues together!

-[Mop Bot] Worka, worka... -Like we put the puzzle together?

Exactly!

We know whatever took the puzzle piece makes these lemon-scented bubbles.

And looks like that green circle.

[Mop Bot] A-worka, worka, worka, worka, worka...

And makes that "worka, worka, worka" sound.

My memory sensors have located a bot that does all those things.

I figured out who took the puzzle piece!

-[Mop Bot] Worka, worka... -Who, Doug? Who?

It's Mop Bot!

Hiya, Doug and Emma. Don't mind me.

Just making my rounds cleaning trash off the floor. [chuckles]

Mop Bot, did you sweep a puzzle piece off the floor earlier?

Uh, I don't know what a puzzle piece is, but you can check my mop.

[chuckles]

[Doug gasps] The puzzle piece!

You have it! Whoo-hoo!

Doug, you solved the mystery of the missing puzzle piece.

You have earned the honors, my shiny friend.

We did it! We finished the puzzle!

I learned that humans solve mysteries by finding clues,

then putting them all together.

Case closed.

Now we just have one last thing to do.

Put the puzzle back in the box.

[gasps]

The box? [whimpers] I think the box is missing.

I definitely did not sweep up a box.

Looks like we have another mystery to solve!

I have an idea. Let's look for clues.

-Whoo-hoo! -[Doug] All right.

-[Emma laughs] -Phew.

Good thing I picked this up off the floor before someone could trip on it.
