Maid Escort

Episode 17

Qingfeng Camp

Zheng

To build a trade route,

we'll need Wang Rong's approval.

That's right.

Wang Rong has been in charged of the Guiyue Trade Route for years.

As soon as the new trade route opens,

it'll first affect the benefit of Guiyue officials.

After the death of my mentor General Fan,

though Guiyue State is temporarily under my watch,

Wang Rong still holds the fate of Guiyue officials.

Most merchants in Guiyue State

still bow to Wang Rong.

We'll need Wang Rong's approval on this matter.

What will be will be.

Now,

it's time to meet up with

this legendary Lord Wang.

Request to report.

What?

Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on her?

You may go.

Yes.

Hu Mei Ren committed suicide.

She's dead?

She left a suicide note in blood to admit her crimes.

She claimed all murders stemming from the new trade route

were her doings.

Including the case three years ago too?

That's right.

Hu Mei Ren ended her life just like that

after committing all those murders.

She had it too easy.

Years ago, Master and his wife

were killed while using the new trade route.

Now that the culprit is caught,

Yang Xiao must be feeling sad.

Now that you've found your foe

and avenged your father's death,

I believe your parents

as well as mine

can rest in peace.

Three years ago

since my parents died on this new trade route,

my uncle and elder cousin

tried hard to stop me from coming here.

These three years,

I had only one thing in my mind.

Every single thing I did

was to find

the real culprit behind my parents' death

and avenge them.

The reason I want to build a new trade route

is to trace the path that my parents took

and search for clues

of the murderer

to avenge their deaths.

I didn't expect

all these to end so soon.

Although I got my revenge because Hu Mei Ren died,

but my parents

will not return anymore.

Do you know?

Now I feel empty inside.

I've lost the direction in life.

I'm even questioning myself

on the purpose of building

the new trade route.

I'm not sure

if you understand what I'm feeling.

When my father passed away,

hundreds of people in Shenwei Armed Escorts

lost their jobs.

But I knew nothing.

Have you seen fuel added to fire?

After my father passed away,

people started to leave.

An agency that had hundreds of staff

Yue, Shenwei Armed Escorts

ended up with only Shuan Zi and me.

Moreover, I failed in every delivery.

Under my leadership,

Shenwei Armed Escorts kept declining.

Creditors kept appearing at our doorstep

Loan Note

every few days.

Debtor, Yue Zi Yuan

Do you remember the first time we met?

Young Master, you finally came.

People are bullying your maid.

Those situations

happened almost everyday.

Those days I kept asking myself

why I didn't learn some martial arts

when my father was alive.

Why didn't I accompany him

more often when he's making deliveries?

Why didn't my parents

take me along when they died?

But what's the use of thinking all that?

The fact is as it is.

I didn't know you experienced all that.

Thanks for opening up to me.

There's nothing left for me to be afraid of.

Do you think I'm a pushover?

I'll hit back twice as hard

if anyone dares bully me.

You should know it too.

Once I'm triggered into a Herculean mode,

nobody can bully me. Am I right?

I've experienced the Yue Family Fist.

These few days, we've visited

many places in Guiyue State.

The number of people living in poverty

is inconceivable.

The new trade route

can greatly improve people's lives.

Of course,

it'll help Shenwei Armed Escorts too.

Yang Xiao.

Although you can be annoying at times,

but your aspiration

to build the new trade route

is admirable.

I hope you don't give up.

Well, are you intimidated?

Or are you afraid that

you may lose your reputation as the second young master of Yang family?

Zi Yuan.

I'm surprised that

someone with little education like you

can utter so many views.

You've enlightened me.

On what you said just now,

even if it is for the people,

we have to build

this new trade route.

Let's keep pushing for this.

That's the right attitude to go.

Let's go. I'll buy you a drink.

Let's go.

Life is about

setting another new goal

after you completed the old one.

You're right.

What should I do?

Guiyue State

Which household

is blessed with happiness?

Lord Wang is in a great mood.

In my private time,

I'm also most fond of listening to The Peony Pavilion play.

The scholar had to part with his dead lover

Their love is indeed touching and tragic.

It is all fated.

A young man like you

also likes The Peony Pavilion.

Of course.

Having this same hobby

with you, my lord,

is my blessings accumulated from my past lives.

It is said that great men are made from young people.

The young generation is indeed impressive.

Young Lady Mu Yun.

Who is this extraordinary young man?

My lord.

This is Yang Xiao, the second young master of Yang family.

Greetings to you, my lord.

You and I are like old acquaintance.

Why bother with formalities?

Yes, my lord.

I've always heard that

you love your subjects as if they are your children.

A man of benevolence.

Meeting you now

leave me no regrets in my life.

To have a great official like you

is a blessing of the people in Guiyue State.

You can be your own man at this young age,

speak your mind fluently,

and so well learned.

I can see you're a rare talent.

You're too kind, my lord.

What is the reason of your visit today?

I'm here about a small matter.

It is about

the building of the trade route

from Guiyue State to the capital.

I know

you love your country and your subject.

For a matter that benefits the people,

I trust you'll not oppose to it.

Of course I won't.

You're doing this for the people of Guiyue State.

I hereby

thank you on behalf of the people.

You have nothing to worry.

Regarding the building of new trade route,

I'm all for it.

If anyone dares to oppose,

it means he is going against me.

I'll definitely not forgive him.

Thank you, my lord.

It should be me thanking you

on behalf of the people of Guiyue State.

To have such a good official like you

is the blessings of the people of Guiyue State.

We won't take any more of your time. We'll leave now.

My lord, Yang Xiao is overstepping the boundary.

He's wishfully thinking of building a new trade route.

I don't understand.

Why did you treat this petty person

with such respect?

Yang Xiao has the support of Gu Shu Yu.

He's on cloud nine now.

But this cloud

won't stay that way forever.

Watch their every move.

When the time comes,

we can then catch them all at once.

Yes, my lord.

I'll make the necessary arrangement.

Yang Xiao, let's see how far you can go.

The matter is decided so merrily.

I'm surprised at how easy it is to talk to Lord Wang.

We must be worrying too much.

It turned out easier than I expected.

But I'm not too optimistic about it.

It went so well.

I have a feeling that something is not right.

What is it?

I can't say.

Then we shouldn't think too much.

Since we have the support of Lord Wang and Officer Gu,

we should think about the next step

so to rope in the merchants in Guiyue State?

You're right.

We'll roll with the punches.

Besides,

we can't stop danger from coming.

Great, we'll talk about it when we get back.

Let's go.

Yinfeng Pavilion of Guiyue State

The distance from Guiyue State to the capital,

is 860 km in total.

There are many mountains along the way

and over 70 villages.

I therefore

establish a new trade route

through three landmarks.

Guiyue State, Qingyue Mountain, Xie's Court, Yuan Residence, Capital City

Qingyue Mountain, Xie family's court and Yuan Residence.

I think you already know that

Madam Hong from Yuan Residence of Nanyang has promised me,

shops and inns around Nanyang

Guiyue State, Qingyue Mountain, Xie's Court, Yuan Residence, Capital City

that serve our armed escorts and merchants

will offer a 50 percent discount.

As for Xie family who is in the business of horses and carriages,

our armed escorts and merchants

can get horse care and carriage repair services

for free.

And any exchange of horses and carriages

is only charged the lowest fee.

As for the journey through Qingyue Mountain,

it is the safest route you can find.

In a nutshell,

this new trade route

benefits Guiyue State, the capital

and landmarks in between

without a single drawback.

Eat, eat, eat. That's all you care.

Is anyone listening to me?

Chief Zheng.

Aren't you the chief of Qingfeng Camp?

That makes you a leader.

Please beware of your public image.

Young Master.

You've a problem?

Chief Zheng is in charge of the peripheral security

of the new trade route.

She's extremely tough.

Chief Zheng, I'm just kidding.

I'm just afraid you're bored.

Just tell me if you're craving anything.

I can prepare it with Shuan Zi and Liu Tiao.

Yes, he's right.

You. Mistress.

In the new trade route,

Mistress is the venture capitalist.

You look great today.

Keep it up. Make sure you come in great tomorrow too.

Keep it up!

Thanks, Young Master Yang.

You.

Just chew this one out.

You are already in this shape. And all you do is eat and eat more.

Look at your thigh.

Look at your belly.

Look at your face.

No, wait. I...

Where is the chief of Shenwei Armed Escorts?

Where is she now?

She...

What about her?

Is this the attitude

you're giving us on our collaboration?

I can replace you with another agency.

No, wait. They...

You... It's not...

Stop right there.

Where did you go?

Didn't we say

we're discussing about the new trade route today?

How dare you miss this!

I just went out strolling.

Strolling?

I mean I did a simple market research

and took down the names of

potential customers.

With this list,

it'd be easier for you to rope in customers later.

Not bad.

Good thinking.

Of course. I'm a doer.

Way better than a talker like you.

Take a good look at the map.

Who's the talker?

Do you think this is enough

to build the new trade route?

I've put my sweat and blood in it.

Of course it can.

It can't.

It can.

It can't.

It can.

It can't.

It can.

Let's wait and see.

Tongjishan Wine Shop

Get out. Get out.

Mr Zhao, let's talk it out.

Let's talk it out. Don't push us.

No deal. No deal.

Our collaboration with the current route

is doing well.

I'm not interested in your deal.

Mr Zhao, please reconsider.

Now that the new route is open,

you can get a lot of good deals.

Are you leaving?

Calm down, Mr Zhao.

Wishing you good fortune, Mr Zhao.

-Wishing you prosperity, Mr Zhao. -Good riddance.

Young Master Yang Xiao.

How's everything going?

All is going very well.

As soon as news of the new trade route was released,

everyone is rushing to register with us.

That's right. So many people registered.

I... I...

I can't record in time.

Is that true?

You've worked hard then.

I support you. Keep it up.

Yue Zi Yuan. Are you hinting something?

I think you came on purpose

to laugh at us.

You're here to pull us down, aren't you?

What? No.

I'm here to show some concern.

How can you doubt me? Keep it up.

Don't be too pleased yet.

You should be looking at

how Shen Wei Armed Escorts

can hire more people.

If the new trade route opens

and you're still left with two staff,

let's see how you pull it off.

Don't you worry about that.

That will never happen.

I'll definitely expand my manpower faster that you.

Why don't we make a bet?

What happens if I expand first?

If that happens, I'll marry into Shenwei Armed Escorts.

You...

If I expand mine first, you'll marry me

and become the young madam of Yang family.

It's a deal then.

The new journey will begin soon.

Keep it up.

Why am I always at a disadvantage?

I must have been too tired lately.

Get out. I won't collaborate with you.

Get out!

Young Master, this is the fifth today.

Why don't we take a break?

Don't lose heart. Let's keep going.

Miss, have you heard of Shenwei Armed...

Escort?

Why is she so rude?

How about this one?

Sir, have you heard of Shenwei Armed Escorts?

Shen... Shenwei what?

Shenwei Armed Escorts.

What Shen courts?

It's fine, sir. Take a break.

S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Xiangyachun Store

Young Master, why don't you go in first?

My legs are wobbly.

Your small built is no good.

Mr Qian.

Please come in.

Your shop isn't very big.

Though it's small, it has everything.

Wine such as Green Bamboo Leaf, Nu Er Hong, Han Tan Xiang,

He Hua Rui, Du Kang, Tu Su, Jin Jing Lu

are all not available here.

What do you sell then?

Liquor is not good for health.

Our little shop,

you should know,

cares about our customers,

especially the health of male customers.

Mr Qian, give me one pint.

No, I mean two pints.

Sure.

But I want to know

if you can send wine to the capital.

Of course we can.

I'm close with Lord Wang.

With the trade route, it can be done.

Then I need you

to use the new route.

You must be Yang Xiao?

You're good at faces.

I am.

I'm sorry, Young Master Yang.

We can't make this deal.

Why?

Please don't make it hard on me.

I'm just running a small business.

Please leave, Young Master Yang.

At home, we depend on our parents.

In society, we depend on friends.

I'm just a newcomer.

I'm not sure what I did right

or wrong.

I hope you're kind enough to enlighten me, Mr Qian.

Please give me some guidance.

I can only say,

Young Master Yang,

the new trade route can't open.

It's not only me

but all the other shops here

have been warned.

Anyone who dares collaborate with you

will not be able to run their business here.

I'll give this wine to you for free.

Please forgive me.

Please forgive me.

Goodbye, Young Master Yang.

This is for you.

Thank you, Young Master.

Two pints to boost your health.

Young Master, don't be sad.

Refusing to collaborate with you,

they're just ignorant.

It's not your problem.

I'm not a narcissist.

I already knew

this won't be so easy.

Although Guiyue State is small

but the political power is complicated.

At least we're now clear

who is trying to obstruct us.

That person should be able to help us.

Let's go.

Yes, Young Master.

Rouge from Cuiyun Store.

I specially bought it for you.

Why are you suddenly giving me presents?

Is there a problem with the new trade route?

You know me too well.

I approached over 10 shops yesterday.

Not a single shop wanted to collaborate.

Hence I need your help

to clear the path.

Didn't I already help you with

meeting Lord Wang Rong?

Can you help me again?

No.

We are good friends.

Don't be mean.

Give me a hand.

Thanks, Mistress.

Hey, buddy.

Have you heard of Shenwei Armed Escorts?

It doesn't matter.

You've heard of it now.

Come, buddy.

Zi Yuan.

What is it?

I'm here to report a secret.

What secret?

Listen.

I saw Yang Xiao today.

He gave Young Lady Mu Yun rouge.

What?

Yang Xiao, that brat.

Where is he now?

I guess they're heading back to Yinfeng Pavilion.

Yang Xiao.

Sister.

Zi Yuan.

I'll be here to help you recruit escorts.

Don't you worry.

Remember to give

Yang Xiao that brat a hard time.

Zi Yuan.

Where were you?

Meeting merchants.

Is that so?

Then why did you get Sikong Mu Yun rouge?
