built a big lead over Walter Tortoise.

He was very confident...

at one point even stopping for tea.

But then, disaster.

If you look closely at the hare,

you'll see he's taking what
appears to be a nap, here...

A fatal mistake that he would live to
regret.

Taking a nap in the middle of a
race...

is just an absolute bad strategy...

and this shocking victory
changed the sport...

of rodent-versus-reptile
cross-country running forever.
