[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 43]

What is this about?

How could it turn out like this?

- Exactly. - It's so unexpected.

Why did Castellan Dao commit murder?

This is...

- What happened? - It was fine, but now...

What on earth has happened?

What is this about?

Madam Lie.

- Madam Lie. - Greetings.

- May the Buddha be with you. - May the Buddha be with you.

If it wasn't for Madam Lie, we'd be trapped in Top Blade City.

- Exactly. - Please take your seats.

I've asked everyone over today to talk to you all about

Thunderbreak Manor's case.

Madam Lie, I have a question that I'd like you to answer.

Please ask, Abbot.

Flame Villa investigated and concluded this case.

However, now you are readdressing this case.

Why is that so?

- That's right! - Exactly!

You investigated the case and now you want to rectify it.

This... We're all confused.

There have been many unforeseen accidents at Flame Villa these past two years.

This case was misjudged.

It was misjudged?

It was misjudged?

Therefore, I've asked you over today to clear Master Xie's name.

But the solid evidence is already gone.

As for the witness...

Will they retract their testimony?

There's no longer any solid evidence left.

However, Zhan Feng is a very important witness.

He witnessed everything that happened.

He investigated and closed the case.

Yes, therefore he knows of the truth more than anyone else.

Senior Feng, please tell them now.

This was what really happened then.

Watch where you're going!

Young lady?

What's the matter?

Why don't you get some rest at my place?

Come.

Carefully.

Here.

Have some water.

Whatever it is, think on the bright side.

I was once fooled by them to cover up their crimes.

I've let everyone down.

I've also let down...

Master Lie.

May the Buddha be with you.

With Dao Wu Xia's death, he got what he deserved.

Madam Lie, how did you manage to escape in time last night?

I owe it to Senior Feng.

[Yulai Inn]

I'll plant the explosives and you'll keep watch out here.

Kill anyone who escapes.

- Yes! - Yes!

Zhan Feng?

What are you doing here?

Yi Lang.

Do you think that you can get away with your evil scheme?

My evil scheme?

What do you mean?

I'm here...

to take your life today.

- Run! - Shut the doors!

Zhan Feng...

You already broke one of my legs.

Isn't that enough?

You killed my father.

Taking your life wouldn't even be enough!

Senior Feng!

Let him go to Ping An Town.

You want me to let him go free?

Yes.

Hall Master Zhongli, follow him.

He will surely go to the noodle stall in Ping An Town.

Yes.

Why did you let him go?

For the sake of a kind person.

I've been investigating past events

and I happened to learn about Yi Lang's family.

Isn't he an orphan?

No.

He was abducted by human traffickers.

His mother...

It's Mrs. Huang of Ping An Town.

Why didn't he reunite with her?

Perhaps...

He didn't wish to give up his status as godson of the Master of Flame Villa.

Mrs. Huang has treated me kindly.

Let them meet one last time.

Sir, don't be scared.

It's all fine now.

From today onward, those in Top Blade City will assume you are dead.

Run for your life and don't let them find you.

Thank you, Madam Lie!

Senior Feng, escort this man out.

I'll detonate the explosives.

All right, I'll hold on to one of their disciples as the witness.

See you tomorrow.

See you tomorrow.

- That's what happened. - I see.

We were nearly fooled by Dark River Palace and Top Blade City!

- Exactly! - That's right!

Dark River Palace made a comeback by helping the people.

I had thought that...

May the Buddha be with us.

Leave Dark River Palace to me.

How will you tackle them?

Senior Feng and I have made all the arrangements.

All you have to do is wait patiently.

When Dark River Palace collapses

please join me in annihilating its remnants.

Sure! We'll wait to hear the good news from Madam Lie.

Yes, we'll await the good news.

At your command, we'll go after the remnants!

- Yes! - Exactly!

Thank you!

Madam Lie, thank you for saving us today.

We shall meet again next year at the Pugilist Convention.

I'll take my leave now.

Take care.

- We take our leave. - Take care!

We take our leave.

May the Buddha be with us.

I'll take my leave now.

Senior Feng, take care.

Master Xie, Deputy Master Cao...

Xiao Feng...

I've finally cleared your names and avenged you.

You seemed a lot like Master Lie just now.

Definitely.

I'd always observed how my father acted full of bravado.

I already learned the tricks.

Hall Master Zhongli.

Madam.

Bring me a brazier and paper money for the dead.

Yes.

Madam Lie.

Miss Phoenix.

Dao Lie Xiang left.

I had expected that.

I'm worried that she might take her life...

And there aren't many servants left in the Dao family.

Madam Lie, please look after her on behalf of Lei Jing Hong.

You're so thoughtful.

After all, Lei Jing Hong is such a hopeless romantic.

Even if you hadn't come to me, I'd have looked after her.

Hall Master Zhongli, take a few of our disciples

to go somewhere with Miss Phoenix.

They are to keep Dao Lie Xiang safe.

Yes.

Thank you, Madam.

Lei Jing Hong, get yourself together!

How long have you been here already?

That's enough!

Leave me be.

You have yet to avenge your father.

What are you doing here instead of returning to Thunderclap Sect?

Lie Xiang has left.

If you want to repent, do it in front of her.

I can't find her.

All you do is drink! Drink yourself to death, then!

Your father shouldn't have had you for a son!

I'll take you to her.

Where is she?

I'll take you there.

Miss Dao, are you leaving?

It's... it's still raining.

My dear! My dear!

Don't call me that.

I won't.

Where are you going?

I'm going home.

- Top Blade City? - Yes.

I was so blind that I married the wrong man.

I'll beg for forgiveness.

Who will you beg for forgiveness?

Lie Xiang, you're the only one left in the Dao family.

Who will you beg for forgiveness?

That's right...

Don't keep saying that.

The Dao family has managed Top Blade City for decades

and now I'm the only one left.

I'm going home.

I'll take full responsibility for it.

Lie Xiang!

Our sects are archenemies.

If you leave now, we'll be enemies as well.

You and I...

are already enemies.

Lie Xiang... Lie Xiang!

- Lie Xiang! - Let her go.

I'm worried about her safety.

Don't worry.

Lie Ru Ge has assigned her men to protect her in secret.

That's good... that's good...

Ru Ge is such a great friend.

Yi Lang and Dao Wu Xia...

There's still one missing.

It's Lei Jing Hong.

Where is Lei Jing Hong?

Why didn't you kill him?

He's a close friend of Ru Ge's.

Are you afraid to upset your beloved?

Yes.

All right, I won't blame you for it.

I think that there's a deep grudge between Third Lady and the Lei family.

It would be best...

to leave him to her.

That's exactly what I have in mind.

Thunderclap Sect is no longer what it used to be.

Supreme Master, it poses no--

no threat?

Yes.

I'm not concerned that he'd pose any threat to me.

His life...

It's my way of testing you.

Supreme Master, you should know...

of my feelings for you.

You've never defied me.

Back then, you sent away the love of my life.

I didn't kill you.

I didn't kill you when you set Lei Jing Hong free, either.

This is your last chance.

Bring me his head.

Yes.

Mother, are you really going to do it?

I'll go with you.

What for?

I... I...

I'm worried about you.

Let's go.

We really can't stay in Top Blade City any longer.

- Have you heard? - Definitely!

They collected illegal taxes

colluded with Dark River Palace and the Japanese.

People had to endure so much suffering because of them.

Exactly! They also set up Thunderclap Sect!

So many people were harmed. They deserved to die.

- That castellan-- - Let's get going.

We won't live here anymore.

- Let's go. - We won't live here.

Why is the candle still lit when it's daytime?

The night before our wedding...

the candle in Lie Xiang's room was prettier than this one.

If you can't bear to leave her, you should go to her.

She's not as tough as she sounds.

If she'd marry me, she'd still do it even after thousands of years.

But if she would abandon me...

At least she'll be safe if she goes home.

You should head back to Jiangnan.

Thunderclap Sect needs you.

- Young Master! - Young Master!

You--

We're from the 17th Branch.

We're here to bring Young Master back to Jiangnan!

Do the disciples wish to return to our sect?

Definitely!

You killed Dao Wu Xia.

All the disciples scattered in different places have gathered.

Young Master, a few veteran branch masters are alive.

We're not scared.

Good! We'll return to Jiangnan!

I'll see you off.

You don't have to. I'm not some little girl.

Hall Master Zhongli, send a few of our disciples

to protect Young Master Lei on his way to Jiangnan.

Yes!

I'll make sure that you get home.

Thank you, Ru Ge.

But I don't have any subordinates now.

Could I borrow Azure Dragon Hall's men?

Sure!

You agreed so quickly?

Aren't you worried?

Why should I be?

If you dare to do anything bad, I'll be sure to kill you first.

Sure.

I take my leave, Madam Lie.

Young Master Lie, there will be a spot reserved for you at Flame Villa

for the Pugilist Convention.

Yes, I'll wait to hear from you.

By then, however many men we have in Thunderclap Sect

will be at your disposal.

We'll wipe out Dark River Palace together.

Let's go.

Hall Master Zhongli, get our disciples ready.

We'll face a vicious battle soon.

Yes.

Third Young Mistress, after fleeing with that treacherous Lei Jing Hong

what are you doing back here?

This is Top Blade City.

This is the funeral hall of the Dao family.

Should I not be here?

- You and that scoundrel-- - Shut up!

When did I ever flee from here?

Bring me my mourning dress!

Wu Xia...

I'm here to see you off on your final journey.

[Dao Wu Xia's memorial tablet]

Wu Xia...

From today onward, I'll redeem the Dao family from all its sins.

I'll restore Top Blade City to glory.

Regardless of good and evil, the dead have passed on.

May you rest in peace.

What do you plan to do about this conflict?

We'll kill our enemies.

Lei Jing Hong, Zhan Feng, and Lie Ru Ge.

That day, all pugilists were trapped in Top Blade City.

They nearly lost their lives.

Aren't you afraid that their disciples will round us up and annihilate us?

They killed our castellan.

How can we not bury them with Castellan Dao and avenge him?

We will risk our lives.

In the past 10 or so years...

you know very well if your deeds were evil or righteous.

We were just following Castellan Dao's orders.

Collusion with the Japanese!

You brought harm upon everyone.

Death penalty!

Collection of illegal taxes!

You brought suffering upon the people.

Death penalty.

Framing Thunderclap Sect of crimes!

You killed the loyal and the righteous.

Even this has the death penalty.

Once these crimes are announced to the world, none of you can survive.

We were just carrying out our orders--

That's enough!

I'm only telling you this to remind you.

The other pugilist sects have yet to annihilate us

because they are doing Lie Ru Ge and Zhan Feng a favor.

However, if you insist on seeking your own doom...

I won't hold you back.

But you're not to do so in the name of Dao family.

Third Young Mistress.

You can't put all the blame on us.

It's also for the Dao family's sake that we want revenge.

For the Dao family?

Then you should obey me.

Third Young Mistress is the last of Dao family.

We can only obey you now.

If you don't want to have our entire sect wiped out...

you are to follow my lead in punishing evil and rewarding good.

We'll redeem Dao family.

We won't seek revenge?

No, we won't.

We'll be mocked by everyone if we don't avenge the castellan!

Killing those people on the coast and the disciples of Thunderclap Sect

are the sins we committed.

After that fight, we now call it even with Thunderclap Sect.

Did you hear me?

Yes.

- Yes! - Yes!

- Two bowls of noodles, please. - Yes.

Ru Ge! Young Master Xue!

You've returned?

Yes.

You didn't elope again this time, did you?

It's all open and official.

I've even written the marriage certificate.

This time, she's officially my wife.

Stop joking around.

Good!

Have a seat and we'll celebrate with two bowls of noodles!

Sure!

The noodles are ready. Enjoy.

- Yes. - Yes!

Thank you, Mrs. Huang.

It's too hot.

Where did you get burnt? Show me.

You're old enough to know some manners.

Why are you looking at me instead of eating?

I want to have the same bowl of noodles with you.

- No way. - Yes!

I heard that if two people eat out of the same bowl of noodles

and end up having the same strand of noodle

it means they're meant to be together.

Who fooled you into believing that?

Let's give it a try.

There's another bowl.

Here, let's continue.

You're so childish.

This was where my mother lived when she ran away from Dark River Palace.

Was that why you brought me here back then?

I think that somehow it was destined because your mother wished to see you.

Mother...

I remember Granny told me that

my mother wrote her own marriage certificate.

She hid it under my father's pillow so that he'd have to propose to her.

Your mother really was...

very bold.

There will be one last battle.

Yes.

It will be one dangerous and unpredictable battle.

Yes.

I've decided that when Dark River Palace meets its demise

you will marry me.

You're forcing me to marry you.

Exactly.

Even if you're from the biggest sect...

it's still inappropriate to force yourself on someone.

You should at least make it seem less obvious.

Don't you want to?

It's just one word.

Do you want to?

Yes.

I've wanted this for so many years.

It's my stepmother.

I told you to escape, but you wouldn't.

Now you have to die.

Combat between us is inevitable.

Why would I run away from it?

You're no match for me.

Attack.

Run and hide.

Xun Yi.

Pretend to betray me and have me stabbed. Then rescue Lei Jing Hong.

If I... If I save him... you'll be killed.

If I have to die, I'll die in Dark River Palace.

Quickly! Stab me now.

This is the best time! Quickly!

Mother...

Hurry up!

Why would you tell your daughter to stab you, Jue?

Did you forget who I am?

- Third Sister. - I'm not your sister.

I was adopted by the former Supreme Master.

I raised you and Luo.

But I hate you!

Kill me.

Set me free.

Retreat...

Retreat!

It's still nicer when you're gentle.

Why is she still alive?

Could it be that back then... Supreme Master didn't kill her?

No! It can't be!

If Supreme Master knew she was alive, he wouldn't let it go.

Unless... Yin Xue had saved her back then?

Third Lady, what should we do?

Yes, Third Lady! What should we do?

Mother...

Did you kill them so you can escape with me?

Shut up!

You're not to tell anyone about that woman you just saw.

Is that clear?

Yes.

That's impossible.

She couldn't still be alive.

Mother?

Don't go back there.

Mother!

Mother! You mustn't go back there!

Mother!

What should I do?

Mother must have gone to look for Young Mistress.

Young Mistress will surely be in danger.

What if Mother gets defeated?

What should I do?

Jue.

Jue, it's been so many years, yet you still hate me.

You're not her.

She died a long time ago!

She is her.

I saved her.

That's impossible...

That's impossible.

You're trying to fool me.

She died a long time ago.

In order to prevent Anye Luo from finding her

I hid her for 10 years.

I only opened Blossoms House as a cover-up.

In fact, it was just so that she had a place to live.

Why have you returned?

I want to avenge my husband, Zhan Fei Tian.

Aren't you scared of Anye Luo?

I'm not.

I've been waiting for him.

I've done...

all sorts of terrible deeds for him.

But deep in his heart...

Why has it always only been you?

He mustn't see you...

He mustn't see you.

Anye Ming...

Do you know how much agony he was in?

You should leave.

After all, you're still my sister.

I won't kill you.

Do you think she believed me?

Judging from her reaction...

I think that she had to believe you.

Young Mistress!

Mother!

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress...

You're not Anye Ming.

You're my Young Mistress.

Young Mistress...

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

I never meant to hurt you.

My mother said that she had captured Young Master Ji

and she was going to kill him.

I...

I had no other choice, Young Mistress!

I'm sorry, Young Mistress.

I'm sorry.

- I'm sorry, Young Mistress. - Xun Yi.

You're kneeling to the wrong person.

No, I can't get it wrong.

I can't mistake her for anyone else.

This is the young mistress whom I served since I was a child.

I can't be mistaken.

It's me.

Young Mistress.

Young Mistress, I...

I'm sorry.

I have sinned.

I'm sorry, Young Mistress.

That day, you didn't stab me in my vitals.

I knew that you didn't mean it.

You're wrong, Young Mistress.

Please punish me according to Flame Villa's regulations.

Kill me!

You've always loved and cared for me.

How can I bear to kill you?

My betrayal must not be forgiven.

I seek only death.

You should leave.

No...

Flame Villa and Dark River Palace are bound to fight against each other.

Your mother is on the other side.

It's impossible for you not to help her.

Leave now.

Escape to some faraway place.

Don't worry about any of us again.

I'm willing... to die for my sins.

Young Mistress, let me keep Die Yi company.

You wish to die for your sins.

You might as well just help us.

It will mean more than your death.

How should I help you?

I can't kill my mother.

We're going to kill Anye Luo.

All right, I'll kill him.

Young Mistress and Young Master Xue should be prepared.

If I fail to kill Anye Luo and he kills me instead...

pay no attention to it.

Hold on.

Did you misunderstand what I said?

You can't even get anywhere near him.

Young Master Xue...

I just want you to lure Anye Luo out.

As for killing him, that's our job.
