[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 37]

Here, Wu Xia.

What a pity.

Wu Hen didn't get to witness this day.

Wu Hen...

Lie Xiang, do you still have Lei Jing Hong in your heart?

Why do you ask that, Wu Xia?

Did I guess right?

It isn't so.

Wu Hen is already dead.

Even if we kill 100 Lei Jing Hongs, we can't bring him back to life.

You're my only kin now.

If you're desperate to save Lei Jing Hong

would I still insist on killing him?

I can let him off. I can even let you be with him.

Would you really spare him?

Top Blade City also owes Thunderclap Sect hundreds of lives.

There's no end to revenge.

But he must agree to one condition.

He must surrender to Top Blade City.

He won't agree to it.

Then you can't blame me for hurting your feelings.

Lie Xiang, you've risked your life for him.

Don't you wish to know just how much he really cares for you?

Or if he's just pretending?

Young Master Lei.

I've arranged for my men to wait for you in Xiangyang.

If we rush over there now, we should arrive before nightfall.

No, Security Officer Huang.

I have to go to Ping An Town first.

Ping An Town?

That place is the closest to Top Blade City.

No, that's too dangerous.

I'd like to go see Thunderbreak Manor.

There's no knowing when I can pay my respects to them after I leave.

All right.

Young Mistress.

Young Master Lei will arrive in Ping An Town today.

Ping An Town?

Young Master Lei could've taken any other routes.

Why did he have to take that route?

That temper of his.

It's his way of protesting...

against my brother.

Young Mistress, will you go see him?

Young Master Lei, if you wish to pay your respects, be quick.

This is the closest town to Top Blade City.

Something could happen.

All right.

Who are you paying respects to?

Was Thunderbreak Manor under Thunderclap Sect too?

Don't come along.

Did you deliberately come here to see me?

Lie Xiang! Lie Xiang!

Lie Xiang, come with me.

Come with me now!

We'll go back to Jiangnan!

Let go of me!

You came here when you got news of me, right?

You can't forget me, can you?

Do you care about me?

I do!

Since I pledged myself to you in Zhan Feng's room that day

you've always been in my heart.

I only care for you!

Come with me to Top Blade City then.

Don't think about seeking revenge.

Just let it all go.

Marry into Top Blade City.

That's impossible.

Why is it impossible?

Your brother killed so many of my men.

If I agree to this, I'd be letting my ancestors down.

I'd also be failing the disciples who risked their lives for me.

How am I to go on living?

But you also killed my second brother!

- Lie Xiang-- - And...

If I hadn't rescued you, Wu Hen wouldn't have died.

Let's not discuss this.

How much do you really care about me?

How much of this is just a pretense?

I...

How much do I matter to you?

You're everything to me.

I'll go in and take a look.

Lei Jing Hong!

Lei Jing Hong!

- Lei-- - Don't bother looking for him.

Someone must've taken him.

Top Blade City.

Someone from Top Blade City must have taken him.

We'll go to Top Blade City.

No, if he really was taken away by someone from Top Blade City

neither of us has the right to get him back.

Not even Madam Lie can.

Are we just going to let him get taken away?

Let me think about it.

I'm considered one of Thunderclap Sect now.

If you can't go to them, I will.

Miss Phoenix!

You're a frail woman with no martial arts training.

What can you do?

But I'm the only one who can go to them.

We'll give it a bit more time.

I'll gather some information first.

We'll discuss this once we get some information.

You...

What did you drug me with?

Inner-force Dissipating Powder.

What are you going to do?

Didn't you say that I'm everything to you?

Dao Lie Xiang, you set me up.

If I hadn't, do you think you would live past tonight?

Do you think local authorities could hold my brother back from killing you?

Even if my brother doesn't do it

there are innumerable assassins out to kill you for the reward.

Why should I be scared of dying?

In your eyes, am I just a coward who dishonorably clings onto life?

You may not be scared of dying.

But I'm scared that you may die.

You have to stay alive.

Only then can you avenge your father and restore Thunderclap Sect to glory.

How will you protect me?

By locking me up in here?

Forever?

My brother knows that I'm fond of you.

He promised me that as long as you're willing to serve Top Blade City

he'd surely spare you.

It's not as simple as he thinks.

Jing Hong.

He'd even agree to let us marry.

Don't you want that?

I do.

But not here.

Why?

It's fine if you take me with you, but I can't keep you here with me?

This is...

It's different.

It is different.

Thunderclap Sect is now in shambles.

There aren't many disciples left.

If you take me with you, you'll be killed eventually.

I'd have to die with you too.

Yes.

But it will be different in Top Blade City.

We're the best pugilist sect in the Pugilist Alliance now.

As long as you stay and marry into Top Blade City

no one will dare to harm you.

Yes, you're right.

You've just had the Inner-force Dissipating Powder.

You'll be weak and sore for a few days.

But it's all right.

You'll feel better in a few days.

Without my martial arts skills, I'm as good as an invalid.

It won't rid you of your martial arts skills.

It will just suppress it for some time.

When you come around, we'll get married.

Security Officer Huang.

Do you have any information?

There's no news of him at all.

Security Officer Huang, it's best you leave here as soon as possible.

We can't interfere with some matters of the Pugilist World.

Miss Phoenix, would you like to return to Flame Villa or come to Luoyang?

I have nothing to do with Flame Villa.

Why would I go there?

Come with me to Luoyang then.

Why would I return to Luoyang?

Am I to return to Blossoms House?

I can get you settled in the royal manor first.

Once we hear from Young Master Lei, we can make other plans.

I'm not going anywhere.

But I promised Young Mistress that I'd look after you and Young Master Lei.

Now that Young Master Lei is missing

how can I just leave you here?

Should I escort you back to Jiangnan?

Without Lei Jing Hong, why would I return to Jiangnan?

You don't have to worry about me, Security Officer Huang.

Without Lei Jing Hong, those pugilists won't pick on me.

I can look after myself.

All right.

I still have to report back to Luoyang.

I won't delay my journey much longer.

Miss Phoenix, take care.

Take care, Security Officer Huang.

Report to Madam Lie of Flame Villa

about Young Master Lei's disappearance from Thunderbreak Manor.

Yes!

Young Master, carefully.

Bi'er, wait here.

Yes, Young Master.

Senior Feng?

Senior Feng?

Senior Feng!

Junior Ji...

Senior Feng.

Here, have a seat.

Senior Feng, how long has it been since we had a proper conversation?

You were in the wrong.

You shouldn't have misplaced your trust in that scoundrel, Yi Lang.

But it's not so grave a sin that you should die for it.

Why do you get drunk every day to avoid facing the others?

But Mentor was--

Yes, Mentor was killed by Yi Lang.

If you're to be blamed for the oversight, then so am I.

Is that what Ru Ge told you?

Yes.

Ru Ge still bears a grudge against you.

She refuses to see you.

But from what I know of her, she's just confused.

When she figures it out

you can mend the rift between you two.

Don't worry.

I'll answer to her.

That's good.

Take Young Master Ji back to his quarters.

There's no heating here, so it's too cold for him.

Yes.

Young Master Feng, you're here.

I'm here to put an end to both of lives.

This is how I'll answer to Madam.

Both of our lives?

You can just kill me.

Why would you forfeit your own life?

I'll pay for my sins with my life.

Young Master Feng, I have a secret to tell you.

It's about your parents.

Don't you want to know about it?

Speak!

Lower your blade first.

Do you think you can get away when I'm right here?

No...

I just don't want to die in such an embarrassing way.

I'm Master Lie's godson, after all.

Even if I have to die, I'll take my own life with dignity.

You practiced the skills of Dark River Palace in secret

and colluded with Top Blade City.

You framed Thunderbreak Manor's Cao Ren Qiu for murder

and covered up Dao Wu Xia's collection of illegal taxes.

Lie Ming Jing knew about it all.

Go on.

All that Lie Ming Jing did for you...

he did because he loved you.

Because...

you're Lie Ming Jing's son.

Do you think I'd believe anything you say?

You wanted to kill him, but he didn't hate you or blame you for it.

He forgave you again and again.

Haven't you ever wondered why?

Lie Ming Jing had a woman.

She was a dancer from the Western Regions.

She had a pair of beautiful blue eyes.

Even when she was pregnant, she could still dance gracefully!

She was light as a feather.

That was your mother.

Your real mother!

Why would Mentor do that?

Why?

[Lie Ming Jing's memorial tablet]

All that Lie Ming Jing did for you...

he did because he loved you.

Because...

you're Lie Ming Jing's son.

Feng, you're here.

Come and practice with me.

As long as you're willing to repent and leave that courtesan

I'll hand over the Flame Seal to you in front of everyone.

Many matters are more complicated than they seem.

I want you to correct your ways and leave Anye Luo.

He's my uncle!

But I'm your--

Mentor!

Leave Anye Luo...

I don't want you to...

I don't want you to... regret this.

You want to kill me?

I've raised you for 19 years.

I've protected you for 19 years.

I wanted to make you the next Master of the villa.

I wanted Ge'er to marry you!

Yet today...

You want to kill me?

Why would you swap me and Ru Ge?

Tell me.

Is it true?

Tell me it isn't true...

Zhan Feng, you're such useless scum.

How are you fit to be Lie Ming Jing's son?

Just you wait.

I'll return someday.

Madam.

Madam, Deputy Master went to see Yi Lang.

Then Yi Lang got away.

What?

I've sent our men after him.

Where's Deputy Master?

He's alone in the funeral hall.

Why did you set Yi Lang free?

I haven't even interrogated him yet!

Can you tell me...

about my father now?

Mentor knew that I was going to kill him

but he came to meet me anyway.

Yi Lang caught him off guard.

He stabbed him right in the spine.

Since the very beginning...

Mentor knew about everything I did.

All the times I betrayed him...

He knew about it all.

Father...

Why didn't you explain it to him?

Father, why didn't you explain it to him?

Why didn't you explain it to him, Father?

- Ge'er. - Why...

Ge'er, listen.

I'll tell you everything.

Why didn't my father tell him?

Why didn't he tell him? Why didn't he explain?

I'll tell you why.

Lie Ming Jing loved Zhan Feng.

He loved you too.

He didn't explain because he wanted to protect you.

Protect me?

Because Zhan Feng is his son.

What did you say?

Zhan Feng...

He's Lie Ming Jing's son.

And you...

You're the daughter of Zhan Fei Tian and Anye Ming.

You two were swapped at birth.

Lie Ming Jing kept it a secret for fear that Anye Luo would find you.

So...

he sacrificed his own son...

to keep you safe.

I just wanted to see Zhan Feng... get married and have children.

One day, I'll be able to see him holding a chubby son in his arms.

They would stand before me.

That day, Anye Luo charged into the villa with many of his disciples.

They tried to take away Anye Ming and her newborn child.

Master Lie, should we run now?

This is Fei Tian's daughter. Look after her.

Yes.

Master! What are you doing?

Remember. From now on, you'll say you gave birth to a daughter.

This is Zhan Fei Tian's son.

Master!

He's our son!

Master!

Sister-in-law, don't you worry.

Ge'er is safe now.

Brother Zhan did what he should for Flame Villa, I had no other choice.

Fei Tian! Fei Tian!

Fei Tian!

Are you all right, Fei Tian?

Fei Tian? Fei Tian!

My sister...

This is your child?

It's all right.

I'll look after anyone who's related to you.

What is it you want, Anye Luo?

If you want my life, just take it!

Spare everyone else!

Why would I want you dead?

I could even give up my life for you.

Quickly, come home with me.

We'll get married right away.

Mentor has made me the new Supreme Master.

I'm the Supreme Master and you're the Supreme Lady.

Come, come with me.

- Let go of me, you maniac! - Come with me--

Let go of me!

You'd actually hit me?

You never hit me before.

I regret not killing you the most.

You want to kill me?

- Just because of him? - Yes!

You're going to kill me because of him?

Then I'll have him die!

If you're going to kill him, kill me first!

How can I possibly kill you?

Let go of me.

Let go of me! Let me go!

Zhan Fei Tian.

Over 1,300 lives in Flame Villa are in your hands now.

If you kill yourself, I'll spare them.

You have to keep your word.

Fei Tian, don't believe him.

I can swear on my mentor's name.

If you die, I'll take all my disciples with me and retreat.

Don't listen to him. Shut up!

Fei Tian, he's insane.

You mustn't believe him!

Because I offended Dark River Palace

Flame Villa had to be massacred.

Ming...

I can't just do nothing about it.

You know me... better than anyone else.

Yes.

I know you well.

Anye Luo!

Keep you word.

I'm the Supreme Master.

I won't go back on my word.

Shut up!

Shut up!

Shut up!

Don't!

Fei Tian...

Fei Tian!

Fei Tian...

Fei Tian!

Fei Tian, wake up!

Fei Tian!

Fei Tian...

Fei Tian!

Fei Tian...

Fei Tian...

Ming, I'm the one you grew up with.

Look.

This is our token of love.

I like you.

I want you to marry me.

I want to be with you forever.

But I'm your older sister.

So what if you are?

You're not my real sister.

I like you too.

I don't wish to part from you either.

It's a promise then.

Can I keep this silver hairpin as a token?

You can't go back on your word.

Ming, do you remember?

You promised to marry me.

This is our token of love.

Now that Zhan Fei Tian is dead, no one can keep you here anymore.

You're insane...

No!

You killed Supreme Master so you could inherit Dark River Palace sooner.

It was his fault!

He held on to the position!

You imprisoned me so that you could have me.

No, I just want to marry you.

I want to be with you forever!

You even forced my husband to kill himself.

He defiled you.

He deserved to die!

Ming...

Why must you hurt me again and again?

Fei Tian...

I've failed you.

No!

Ming...

Ming, wake up.

Ming, I was wrong.

Ming, wake up!

Ming...

Ming, wake up!

No!

Give him back to me!

Anye Luo, you're a diabolic monster!

You won't even spare a baby.

How's the child?

He's alive.

You're the one who didn't let them off!

He's my sister's child.

He's my nephew.

Give him back to me.

I'm his only kin.

Anye Luo, you--

Count yourselves lucky today.

One day, I'll return to take him away.

Go and check on your godbrother.

Fei Tian!

How come it's a boy?

Fei Tian! Fei Tian!

Why is it a boy?

Zhan Fei Tian should have a daughter.

That isn't their child.

This is their child.

I swapped the children.

Fortunately, Anye Luo couldn't tell the difference.

Otherwise...

How could I face my godbrother?

You almost had me fooled.

Anye Luo is severely wounded.

He'll have to go into seclusion to survive.

Dark River Palace's inner force requires 19 years for a full term.

19 years later, when he comes out of seclusion

he's bound to come looking for this child.

He won't find her.

Why not?

As long as I don't tell anyone, he'll believe that Anye Ming had a son.

No matter what happens

be it suffering, torment, or death, it will be my child who endures it.

Not my godbrother's child.

Why would you do that?

My godbrother died to save Flame Villa.

I'll protect his only daughter.

Master Lie, you're such a noble and righteous man.

I'm deeply impressed.

These two children were born on the same day.

They are of the same age.

I'm worried that Anye Luo might suspect something amiss and discover the truth

so I must think of a way to leave no traces at all.

I wonder if you could help me, Young Master Xue?

I can seal her for three years.

For three years, she'll sleep but she won't grow.

In three years, you can announce that you have a daughter.

Then, she'll be three years younger than the boy.

Anye Luo won't suspect anything.

Thank you, Young Master Xue.

But you have to agree to a condition.

Please do tell, Young Master Xue.

In 19 years, I'll come to you.

I'll take her with me.

Where will you take her?

Once Anye Luo leaves his seclusion

he'll surely seek revenge on you and the entire Pugilist Alliance.

I don't want her to get implicated.

I'll take her far from the mundane world.

This is my condition.

But this is Fei Tian's child.

Why are you so protective of her?

It's personal.

All right.

You have my word.

Where are you going?

I'm going to kill Anye Luo.

With your current skills, you'll only get killed.

I'm going to do it, even if I die trying.

If you go to him now, not only will you be unable to kill him

but you'll also drag Ru Ge down.

Think it through.

How has Anye Luo treated you these past five years?

He went to great lengths to find you.

He tortured you with hatred.

He taught you martial arts skills and forced you to commit crimes.

All because you're his nephew.

Right now, if he finds out that Ru Ge is his real target

do you think he'll spare her?

Lie Ming Jing, your father...

He sacrificed himself to protect you and Ru Ge.

Are you going to ruin it all by acting recklessly?

I'm not afraid of him finding me.

I'm not afraid that he'll torture me.

But you can't just die for nothing.

Yin Xue is right.

Tell me... what I should do now.

Calm down first.

As of now, when you step out of this funeral hall

you're still Anye Luo's nephew.

Anye Luo must not discover the truth.

Come see me at Pear Quarters in three days.
