[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 35]

- Junior Ji! - Senior Yu!

What happened to your eyes?

They're gone.

Did you get a doctor to examine them?

They can't be cured.

I just heard the sound of your footsteps.

This is great!

Senior Yu, congratulations on having your legs healed!

But looking at you, I...

Junior Ji, who did this to you?

Dark River Palace.

Let's sit down first.

Here.

Senior Yu, I've brought some people with me.

Who are they?

The Young Master of Thunderclap Sect.

Lei Jing Hong?

Where is he now?

Senior Yu, I can vouch for him with my life.

Thunderclap Sect never harmed Ru Ge.

I know.

You do?

Junior Ji, I also have someone here who wishes to see you.

What's on your mind?

I'm thinking about all that has happened in Luoyang these days.

I thought of Miss Feng again.

Don't worry.

Not only can your Senior Yu devise strategies at war

but he's also more than adequate in handling political affairs.

Once he seizes an opportunity, none of them can escape.

What's wrong?

The tea has gone cold.

I'll get you some fresh tea.

Ge'er.

I'd like Blossoms House's best tea.

Got it.

Young Mistress.

Mister Youqin.

Great news.

What is it?

Young Master Ji isn't dead.

He's at Royal Jingyuan Manor now.

You're not lying to me?

Head over there quickly.

Security Officer Huang is here with the carriage.

- Get your mentor some hot tea. - Yes.

Mentor! How did this happen?

Haven't you been well these days?

Here.

Careful.

Here.

Why doesn't Young Mistress's Flame Power have any effect on you?

The frost has seeped into my heart and lungs.

There's no remedy for it.

Not even the Flame Power can heal it?

No! There must be some other way.

Every word that I'm about to say...

You have to bear it in mind.

I don't have much time left.

I won't last long, even with the Flame Power to protect my heart.

Go stand guard at the door now.

I have to use Dark River Palace's inner force to control the Frost Curse.

Mentor, their inner force contradicts your own inner force.

You'll only hurt yourself!

All that contradicts will also reinforce.

If I do this, I can recover two thirds of my inner force in six months.

The Frost Curse can also be contained within my body.

It won't lash back at me.

But in six months

the Frost Curse and Dark River Palace's inner force will plague you together!

Then, no one will be able to save you.

Mentor, you mustn't do it.

Obey me and do as I say.

No, I can't do that.

You--

Mentor!

You...

Do as I say.

Yes.

Senior Ji.

Ru... Ru Ge?

- This... - Senior Ji, it's me.

You're still alive.

Ru Ge.

All right now.

Don't cry, Senior Ji.

How can you talk down to me?

I got emotional. How can you tease me?

I... Seriously.

Security Officer Huang told me all about it on the way here.

Senior Ji, have a seat.

Ru Ge...

Xun Yi, she...

I know.

You do?

Of course she does.

That day at Mount Yi--

What happened at Mount Yi, Senior Yu?

Ru Ge told me about it at Mount Yi.

It turns out that...

I was the last one to learn the truth.

When Mentor was alive, I even wanted him to host our wedding for us.

How could I have known that

that I fell in love with a witch from Dark River Palace?

Junior Ji, her fate was decided the moment she was born.

You shouldn't blame yourself.

Anye Jue is her mother after all.

Don't worry.

I've already moved on.

Here, Senior Ji, have some tea.

Ru Ge, you've really hidden yourself away.

Do you know that Bi'er, Zhongli Wulei

and all of Azure Dragon Hall is looking for you?

Azure Dragon Hall?

Zhongli Wulei has Azure Dragon Hall back under his command.

Once you show yourself and it's made known that you're still alive

all of Azure Dragon Hall will respond to your command.

Then, Thunderclap Sect can be cleared of all the false accusations.

I can't show myself yet.

Are you really going to hand Flame Villa over to Yi Lang?

I'm waiting for an opportunity to strike one lethal blow.

Well said.

The internal strife in Flame Villa has gone on for some time

so no one is united.

They can't withstand another tug-of-war.

Besides, they already think that Lie Ru Ge is dead.

I can't just show up like this.

But--

You're just going to wait?

How much longer will you wait?

I have plans.

Ru Ge, tell me quickly.

They have been wary of Senior Yu all this time.

But you can approach them.

You can team up with Zhongli Wulei to support Yi Lang as the new Master.

But...

I've never been on good terms with Yi Lang.

Will he believe me?

He will doubt you.

But he'd never expect Ru Ge to be alive.

Moreover, his desire to become the Master will ease his doubts about you.

All right.

At daybreak, I'll head back to Flame Villa.

But...

What I'm most concerned about now is your condition, Senior Ji.

I'm worried that you might not be able to deal with those scoundrels.

I'm not happy to hear you say that.

Even if I'm blind now, I'm still Young Master Ji.

Have you ever seen me scared of anything?

Now that Flame Villa is in the hands of a traitor

I find it so hard to sleep at night.

Ru Ge, don't you worry.

I won't let you down.

Why did you cover for Xun Yi?

Yin Xue told me that Xun Yi actually spared me.

If she truly wanted to kill me, I'm afraid no one could've saved me.

I believe that Xun Yi must have been conflicted.

Besides, if I tell Senior Ji the truth

it would just upset him even more.

I'll have Xuan Huang pick out the best bodyguard to protect him.

Nothing bad should happen.

Ge'er, when we were in Flame Villa, I always wanted to walk you out

when you left Bamboo Quarters.

But it was difficult for me to get around.

Tonight, let me walk you out.

Sure.

Mentor, take your medication.

What are you having?

My medication. It's so bitter.

Get your mentor some plums the next time he's taking medication.

Yes.

Do you know why Senior Yu had me go to the royal manor?

It's Senior Ji. He's still alive.

And Lei Jing Hong. They're together.

No wonder you're so happy.

I actually feel really apologetic toward Lei Jing Hong.

After all, Thunderclap Sect suffered terribly but there's nothing I can do.

Has anyone suffered more than you?

Yet here you are, worrying about them.

I didn't suffer.

I have you by my side.

They're all still alive.

I can set my mind at ease now.

Why are you relieved?

When you get Flame Villa back and clean up the Pugilist World

I'll have to leave.

I'm much more relieved now that they're all with you.

Where are you going?

I'm returning to Misty Peak.

You're going back there?

I'm Madam of Flame Villa, so I can't leave with you.

I know.

Tell me. What are your plans?

Senior Yu will send Senior Ji back to Flame Villa.

Senior Ji will then suggest making Yi Lang the Master.

Mister Youqin.

Did your mentor tell you that he's going back?

Going back?

He's the Chief, so he must return to Misty Peak.

You must be careful on the way.

Stay safe.

Ru Ge, don't worry.

I'm taking the public route back to Flame Villa.

I'll be fine, but as for you, you should be more cautious.

I got it, Senior Ji.

Bi'er, get the carriage to go a bit slower.

Don't worry, Young Mistress.

Your Highness.

Could I have a word with you in private?

I was just about to say that.

This way, please.

Young Master Xue, thank you for the letter.

A letter that's enough to rid the people of great harm.

I was more than happy to write it.

I'm running out of time.

I've come to speak to you about how to tackle Dark River Palace.

That's what I had in mind too.

I'm also running out of time.

Maple Quarters has the best scenery.

This used to be Zhan Fei Tian's residential quarters.

It has the best fengshui in the entire Flame Villa.

My godfather prepared this place especially for Zhan Feng.

Why don't we renovate this place?

When you officially become Master

you can move into Maple Quarters!

Get started on it.

Yes!

Head Housekeeper Yi, Young Master Ji has returned!

Ji Jing Lei?

Really?

Yes, they've arrived at the villa.

Good...

Hall Master Ling, come with me to greet Young Master Ji.

- Yes. Let's go! - Let's go!

Young Master.

Come.

Slowly.

Lift your leg up. Here.

Be careful--

- Young Master! - Young Master Ji!

Young Master...

Are you all right, Young Master?

Young Master Ji!

Young Master Ji, your--

Young Master Ji, where have you been?

I sent out our men to look everywhere for you.

There was no news of you at all.

But at least you returned home--

Yi Lang!

Bi'er...

Let's go.

Yes, Young Master.

I'll take you back to Pine Quarters now.

Head Housekeeper Yi, I'll take my leave now.

Young Master, slow down.

All of Master Lie's disciples are either dead or wounded now...

It's such a pity.

Young Master Ji was abducted by Lei Jing Hong?

That scoundrel...

After he took Young Master Ji away

he tortured him to seek revenge.

Young Master ended up like this.

Fortunately, Young Master was lucky enough to escape.

But when I found him...

He was already--

Some day, I'll track that Lei Jing Hong down and hack him to pieces!

Did he also injure Young Master Ji's eyes?

No, it was Dark River Palace.

Dark River Palace?

Third Lady of Dark River Palace did that to him.

Head Housekeeper Yi, you saw it for yourself.

Young Master Ji isn't emotionally stable.

I didn't dare to ask for details, so I don't know much.

Anyway... it's good that he's home.

No one would dare to hurt him here in Flame Villa!

We must avenge him.

It's just that...

Dark River Palace has won a lot of people over in the past year.

It's no longer the diabolic sect that people used to despise.

We'll have to discuss this further.

Head Housekeeper Yi.

We should gather all the branch masters to elect a new Master.

Hall Master Ling, I was thinking that as well.

Now that Young Master Ji has returned, there's hope for Flame Villa!

Head Housekeeper Yi, what do you mean by that?

He's the best candidate.

In his current state, he definitely won't do.

Hall Master Ling, say no more.

Even if Young Master Ji can never see again

I'll be here to assist him!

Head Housekeeper Yi, I know very well just how loyal you are to Master Lie.

But you have to listen to everyone's opinion on electing a Master.

This isn't child's play.

What about Young Master Yu?

He's Prince Jingyuan.

One serving the Imperial Court can't become our Master.

Let me think about it.

Don't bother! There's no time to lose.

I'll summon all the branch masters back to Flame Villa right away.

You don't have to handle this matter.

You should go and attend to Young Master Ji.

I'll take my leave.

Today, Head Housekeeper Yi recommended you be the next Master.

Don't you wish to be Master?

You're worried that you won't be able to restore Flame Villa to glory--

That's enough.

I'm not interested.

Head Housekeeper Yi.

Young Master Ji, I've thought about this for some time.

I'd still like to recommend you for the next Master.

I wonder what you think about it?

Are you just trying to make a fool out of me?

Or do you want Flame Villa to be ruined by a useless man like me?

You're my godfather's disciple.

It's best to hand Flame Villa over to you.

If you're worried that you can't handle it

I can assist you.

Bi'er!

I'm tired.

Yes, Young Master.

Head Housekeeper Yi.

It's best that I walk you out.

You're right.

Young Master Ji must be travel-worn.

He should get some rest.

I won't disturb him any longer.

- I'll take my leave. - This way, please.

I have a few questions for you.

I'll tell you all that I know.

You serve in Pine Quarters.

If Young Master Ji becomes the next Master

you'd also be promoted to a higher status.

Wouldn't you like that?

It isn't a matter of what I want.

It's whether or not I can.

Why can't you?

In his state, even as Master

he'd need Head Housekeeper Yi to assist with everything.

Instead of that, it's better to support Head Housekeeper Yi as the next Master.

All we ask for is that Pine Quarters can be kept safe.

No wonder Master Lie assigned you to Pine Quarters.

You're very clever.

After Young Master Ji escaped from the clutches of Lei Jing Hong

he's been having nightmares every day.

I must stay by his bed, so I won't walk you out.

Master Yi, please take care.

I'll be Master of Flame Villa soon.

Lie Ming Jing trusted you, but he ended up dead, with not even a corpse.

If he had chosen me...

I wouldn't have had to go through such pitfalls and diversions.

You're not fit to be the Master.

Indeed.

I'm not fit to be the Master.

But as long as I live, I'll keep you in here.

Why won't you kill me?

Because you're my protective charm.

Oh, right.

Ying Yi is returning to Dark River Palace soon.

I wonder if Young Master Feng would like to see her again?

Bring her here.

You're still so romantic.

All right.

Bring her in here!

Let go of me!

Young Master Feng!

Have you told him?

About...

I didn't tell him that Young Mistress is still alive.

Young Master Feng...

Take care.

Get going.

Take care.

Miss Ying Yi, please go with them.

Third Lady said that you're also a pitiful person stricken by love.

You don't have to return to Dark River Palace to be tortured.

Your corpse can be left intact.

If anyone asks

just say that she ran away, but fell and drowned in the lake.

Yes, Young Mistress!

You know the rules of Dark River Palace very well.

Tonight, Third Lady showed you some mercy.

You should get going.

This won't do.

Definitely not.

- It's fine! - That's ill-considered.

Let me think it over.

Everyone, come over here.

I still think that we should discuss this at length.

- You're right. - First of all--

[The water can never be too deep, or the mountain too high.]

[When a king calls for talent, it is him the world must stand by.]

Head Housekeeper Yi, everyone elected you unanimously!

Come.

Take a look. What do you think about the short ballad I transcribed?

Great!

"It is him the world must stand by."

That's particularly wonderful!

- Head Housekeeper Yi. - Head Housekeeper Yi.

I'm going to be Master soon.

I'm only accepting the position

so that Godfather's assets won't be wasted by incompetent people.

I wanted someone to talk to.

Who knew that I'd only think of you?

You can't always do as you please.

You can't just take what you want.

Tell me then.

What is it that I should or shouldn't take?

As long as you don't harm anyone...

As long as you don't betray your own conscience...

I shouldn't have come here today.

[Beloved wife, Die Yi's memorial tablet]

Congratulate Head Housekeeper Yi on my behalf.

Tell him that I'll be there for the ceremony.

Set his mind at ease.

Yes!

What a pity.

If Zhan Feng wasn't so stubborn

you'd be the wife of the Master by now.

I wouldn't have to make so many plans for you either.

But that's all right.

With our current status, you can have any man you want.

I'm not interested in marriage.

You don't have to worry about me.

Seriously!

Prepare a gift and come with me to congratulate Yi Lang.

Can't I just not attend it?

No.

This is so sad.

How pitiful.

She's still so young and pretty.

Look at this young lady.

She's still so young.

Why would she...

- This is tragic. - She must have been killed.

What a pretty young lady.

- This is tragic. - I can't bear to look.

This is terrible.

Whose daughter is she?

Her family must be worried.

- She's so pitiful. - Exactly.

This is terrible.

Such a lovely young lady.

Did you see that?

I did. It's Ying Yi.

Shouldn't she be with Zhan Feng?

Could Zhan Feng also be in trouble?

There's nothing we can do. Let's go.

And leave her here?

What else can we do?

Are you going to go tell them that you know her?

Ru Ge, we can't even fend for ourselves now.

Ru Ge!

She undid the ropes.

It's better to untie her.

You're right.

Sir...

I find this young lady pitiful.

Take these taels and have her buried.

Young lady, you're so kind.

What a good deed.

Don't worry, I'll get it done.

Thank you.

She's so kind.

What a kind lady.

Dark River Palace is definitely behind this.

I'm afraid that Zhan Feng is probably in their hands too.

He's considered one of them.

His mother was from Dark River Palace anyway.

He shouldn't be harmed.

You really don't understand Anye Luo.

You're right. Zhan Feng may be Anye Ming's son

but he's also Zhan Fei Tian's child.

Therefore, Anye Luo loves and hates him at the same time.

When he's fond of him, he can give him everything

but when he resents him, he could also leave him to die.

You should be glad that he's missing.

If you find him, are you going to kill him or not?

You'll have to face all the pugilists tomorrow.

Can we set Zhan Feng's matter aside for now?

Your Highness.

Ru Ge has already set out.

Take a few guards with you to Flame Villa in the name of Royal Jingyuan Manor.

When you get to Miaohe Town, she'll meet up with you.

Head back to Flame Villa together.

Yes. But if Yi Lang stops us, how should I deal with him?

He won't show fear for a mere security officer.

Even if he knows that you're there to pick on him

he'll still let you in.

Yes!

Inform Master Yi right away.

Security Officer Huang is in Miaohe Town with six guards.

Yes.

[Inn]

Ru Ge, this is your outfit.

We'll blend in with the guards.

They won't notice us.

Don't worry about me.

I'll show up at the right time.

Security Officer Huang has made the arrangements.

Someone will be here to protect Mister Youqin and Miss Phoenix.

If... you don't succeed

won't you be the one who's most likely to be in danger?

They pinned so many crimes on you.

Everyone will be fine as long as Mentor is there.

Ru Ge, we can set out once you get changed.

Let's go.
