[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 33]

Young Master Xue.

It's been tough on you.

What's tough about this?

As long as you're alive, I'll be here.

To cover your tracks, Blossoms House will reopen in a few days.

I've already had your quarters in the back sealed off.

You and Miss Ru Ge will have to make do with it for now.

Once the trouble in the Pugilist World has died down

I'll arrange for new accommodation.

Sure.

Miss Ru Ge, I heard about Flame Villa.

You don't have to console me, Madam Blossom.

I'm all right.

Mentor, here's your zither.

Young Master Xue, play us a tune.

To celebrate the reopening of Blossoms House.

The last time I played the zither, we were in Ping An Town.

It was after New Year's Eve dinner.

I remember.

That was a year ago.

Is that the grand master of zither?

The grand master of zither is in Blossoms House?

Isn't that Madam Blossom?

- Madam Blossom. - Madam Blossom.

Madam Blossom!

Everyone, Blossoms House will reopen on the 15th of January.

Congratulations!

You just heard the zither tune played by Mister Youqin.

It was Mister Youqin.

Mister Youqin, why did your hair turn white?

I trained too hard to improve my skills.

I see.

No wonder Mister Youqin is Blossoms House's walking billboard!

He's so obsessed with the zither!

Exactly!

We'll await your visit on the 15th of January.

- Sure! - Definitely!

Definitely!

What's the matter?

I'm all right.

Young Mistress.

The money I gave you was enough to tide you over for 10 years.

Why did you come to Luoyang instead of staying away?

Because...

Have gone back to Dark River Palace?

I haven't.

Is it because of Zhan Feng?

After learning of your death

Young Master Feng also left Dark River Palace.

Is that true?

I came here with Mister Youqin, I wouldn't lie to you.

After Young Master Feng left them, he came all the way to Luoyang.

I don't know what he's doing here.

All I know is that he's been drinking and gambling every day.

He has gambled away almost all of the money you gave me.

He managed to lose almost all

of the money that could cover over 10 years of expenses?

He's no longer the Zhan Feng that he used to be.

How did you find him?

You never really left.

You followed him all along?

Tell me where he is right now.

Is he here every night?

Yes.

By this time every night, he loses all the money he has.

He should be coming out of there now.

Young Master Feng!

Get lost!

Useless scum...

Useless scum!

Aren't you coming to kill me?

Come on then!

Kill...

Kill me.

Then I'll get to see her.

Ru Ge...

Ru Ge...

Zhan Feng.

Zhan Feng! Zhan Feng!

Don't address me as Zhan Feng.

Why not?

You should address me as Senior.

But I have many seniors.

Senior Yu is my senior.

Senior Ji is also my senior.

If I address everyone as Senior, how would we know the difference?

You can address me as Eldest Senior.

But you're clearly the youngest of my three seniors.

Why would I call you the eldest?

What about Senior Zhan then?

That doesn't sound nice.

Senior Zhan sounds terrible. ("Die in combat" in Chinese.)

I want you to live till you're very old.

I want you to play with me till your hair and eyebrows turn white.

I don't want you to die in combat!

Zhan Feng.

Zhan Feng! Zhan Feng!

Stop right there!

Ru Ge...

Ru Ge...

You finally came to get me.

I was wrong...

Please don't leave me behind.

Take me with you.

Young Master Feng!

Young Master Feng!

Wake up, Young Master Feng!

Young Master Feng...

Go and sleep for a while.

I'll stay with him.

I have questions for him.

If you have things to ask him, you can sit on a chair while you wait.

Why are you sitting on the floor?

The floor is cold.

When it's cold, I can't think too much.

What if you catch a cold?

Have you forgotten that I'm trained in Flame Power?

I won't let myself to get sick and die

before I finish what I need to do.

You don't have to sleep.

Drink up this Cold-Food Powder decoction.

Cold-Food Powder?

It's a herbal supplement from the palace.

It's very effective.

Once you take it, you'll have to dress in thin clothes, eat cold food

drink cold drinks, and sleep in the cold to disperse the heat in your heart.

I made it, but I'm scared to drink it.

It's perfect to test on you.

Can this break the Frost Curse?

If it could, you wouldn't have had to beg me to save your Senior Yu before.

I'm just teasing you.

It's plantain weed soup. It's sweet.

How could I bear to test medicine on you?

Here, have some.

He's awake.

You're still alive.

I could've killed you in a 100 different ways when you were drunk.

But I still want to hear your explanation.

Did you kill my father?

If it was me...

would you kill me?

Yes!

How will you kill me?

How did you kill my father?

Why did you kill my father?

Is it just because he made me Madam of Flame Villa?

Or is it because you believed those ridiculous rumors?

You believed Ying Yi.

You doubted my father, so you killed him!

Whatever your reasons may have been, I'll kill you.

Just kill me.

Living is more agonizing than being dead.

It's agonizing?

Shouldn't you be happy that you've had your revenge?

Do it!

Ge'er!

I have a favor to ask of you.

Say it.

Bury my body in that lotus pond.

Sure.

Don't kill him!

- Yin Xue! - Youqin Hong!

- Yin Xue, what are you doing? - Youqin Hong!

- Let go of me! - Take Zhan Feng away!

Quickly!

No, you can't take him away!

Young Master Feng, leave now!

Let her kill me.

If Lie Ming Jing is watching over you, he'd never want you to kill each other!

If you still care for your mentor, leave right now!

Don't make him worry, even in death!

Leave now!

- Go! - Leave!

You can't take him away!

Let me go! I don't want to hurt you!

Zhan Feng!

- Ge'er! - Zhan Feng!

Why did you let him leave?

Why did you let him leave?

Don't cry.

Don't cry. Listen to me.

Please leave Luoyang as soon as possible.

If this happens again, I'm afraid that not even my mentor can save you.

Thank you, Mister Youqin.

We'll leave right away.

We'll never come to Luoyang again in this lifetime.

Young Master Feng, we should get going.

Don't blame me for letting Zhan Feng go free.

Think about it.

Your father was so fond of him.

Think about it carefully.

Heed my words.

Don't seek revenge.

My father doted on him the most.

Whenever he'd leave Flame Villa

my father would walk him down the mountain.

When my father came home, he'd start counting the days.

When Zhan Feng came home

my father would head down the mountain personally to fetch him.

I don't know why he hated my father so much.

Why couldn't he trust him?

How odd...

Why won't the bleeding stop?

It worked when you treated my wounds.

Why doesn't it work on you?

It doesn't matter.

All wounds will eventually heal.

Ge'er...

Now that we're in Luoyang, what are your plans?

Lei Jing Hong and Senior Ji are nowhere to be found.

On our way here, I saw and heard too much.

Zhan Feng, Yi Lang...

Dark River Palace is staging its comeback.

Yin Xue...

My mind is a mess.

The situation is indeed complicated.

I'll go to the royal manor with Mister Youqin tomorrow

to send a letter to Senior Yu.

I'd like to make a decision after discussing it with him.

Sure.

You... Why won't the bleeding stop?

It didn't work, even with all the medicine I put on it.

It's because you didn't do it right.

Look, blood is red.

You should cover it up with red cloth.

Then you can't see the blood.

Why doesn't that sound right?

I'm just teasing you.

I'll do it again.

Here, give me your hand.

Young Master Feng, wait here.

I'll go and pack some clothes.

We still have some money at home.

Wait for me.

I'll be back soon.

Deputy Master.

I waited for you for a very long time.

Lapdog!

I'm here to take you...

back to Flame Villa.

Bi'er.

You must be very skilled in martial arts.

Are you even better than Young Master Ji?

I've never had a match with my young master.

Then how did you join Flame Villa?

All the subordinates at Azure Dragon Hall

were rescued by Master Lie and the former Deputy Master.

The same goes for me.

Since you're Third Hall Master of Azure Dragon Hall

your position must be quite high, huh?

It's all right.

How are you fine with serving Ji Jing Lei then?

He's my young master!

Miss Phoenix, why do you have so many questions?

It's because I don't understand.

What don't you understand?

If I were you...

and I cared for Young Master Ji when my skills are better than his

I'd just abduct him.

I'd take him to a wonderland so we could lead a life of our own.

Why would you stay and witness him suffer over a witch?

Am... Am I wrong?

Miss Phoenix, is that what you really think deep down?

Is that how you feel about Young Master Lei?

Am I wrong?

That fellow has revenge to seek.

Even if I were to abduct him, he wouldn't settle down with me.

I might as well help him seek revenge first.

Miss Phoenix, you've had your fill of influential officials and aristocrats.

Why did you fall for Young Master Lei?

In the beginning...

I just wanted to try my luck.

If I bet on him and won, I'd move up the ranks.

But then...

He's...

The more I got to know him, the more I saw in him.

Young Masters, if you want to listen in, you can come in and listen to us.

What was I saying?

You were saying...

The battles at Eastern Sea.

Exactly! The battles at Eastern Sea.

The Japanese have been harassing us for 10 years.

Lift your legs.

If Young Master Yu returns in victory, it would be an achievement of a lifetime!

Exactly. Senior Yu has always been--

Stay hidden.

No, I heard a gong like this in Luoyang.

It's news of victory.

The battles at Eastern Sea must have been won!

Trust me.

It's a joyous occasion.

It's best to be careful.

Don't show yourselves. I'll take a look.

Bi'er!

Young Master, what is it?

Be careful.

Have you heard?

Prince Jingyuan defeated the Japanese.

Great news!

We'll get to live well from now on!

This is great!

Third Hall Master, great news!

We won the war at Eastern Sea.

The Japanese are totally defeated!

That's wonderful!

You can head back now.

Yes!

Great!

This is wonderful!

Under such circumstances, only Senior Yu can avenge Mentor.

I'm far more pathetic.

It's all right. We'll get back on our feet.

We'll set out to Luoyang tomorrow.

Luoyang?

We can't just sit around doing nothing.

Let's meet with Prince Jingyuan before planning the next step.

Please make the arrangements for tomorrow.

I'll go do that now.

I'll come and fetch you at dawn.

Phoenix, you'll have to do a bit more.

Tidy up this place.

Don't leave any traces behind.

Sure.

Young Master, I'll go and make the arrangements now.

Sure.

Come give me a hand after taking Young Master Ji to get some rest.

She left the needle in, not thinking that it might prick her young master.

Phoenix.

Except for marrying you, I'll agree to do anything you wish.

What else do you have now, except for your life?

Do you know what "Phoenix" means?

It's the king of all birds.

If I want to marry, I'll marry a noble.

You don't stand a chance.

You're right. I'm not good enough for you.

If you really want to repay me, just restore Thunderclap Sect to glory.

I want to be second-in-command.

Sure!

I can promise you that!

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

So this...

This is how it feels to step on the ground.

Your Highness! Your legs...

This is what it feels like to stand on the ground.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

I can give you everything you wish for.

Including a healthy body.

If it's not meant to be mine, I have no desire for it.

You can't know the pain of losing something if you never had it.

Fine.

I'll let you have a taste of utter happiness.

Then...

you can tell me if you still have no desire for it.

Your Highness.

Your Highness...

Your legs are really healed?

They're all saying that Your Highness won the war for our people

so the gods are rewarding you.

At first, I didn't believe them.

Wow, even our Security Officer Huang is crying.

I just made a bet with Chi Zhang.

We bet to see if an imperial bodyguard who is tougher than a man would cry.

I'm just happy for His Highness.

Since you're happy, you should bring us good news.

Your Highness, this is from Young Mistress.

[Ru Ge]

Who delivered this letter to the royal manor?

It was Youqin Hong.

I didn't ask any details before rushing to get here.

Your Highness, what does Young Mistress's letter say?

Did she ask us to return to Luoyang?

Yes, we'll set out right away.

Huang Cong, set out before I do.

Get someone in the palace to make a wind chime for me.

Are you going to give it to Young Mistress?

Yes, I'll set out right away.

I'll have the wind chime ready before Your Highness is back in Luoyang.

After receiving Your Highness's orders

she left without even a sip of water.

- Xuan Huang. - Present.

Come with me to meet the leader of the Japanese army.

Yes!

Congratulations, Your Highness!

Both of my legs are intact, is there a need to fear the Japanese?

- Your Highness. - Your Highness.

Apart from Dark River Palace, who else colluded with you?

I'll die, whether I tell you or not.

What difference does it make?

If you tell me, I can have your body sent back home.

This is the only promise I can make.

Is someone from the imperial family involved?

- Xuan Huang. - Present.

Have these captives heavily guarded and escorted to the capital.

Attract as much attention as possible.

Our people shall witness how we tackled the Japanese.

Yes.

Darn him...

Not only did he take all the credit for the battle

but his legs are even fully healed!

Now that the cripple is fully healed...

do I still have a chance of becoming the Crown Prince?

This...

Why don't we contact Dark River Palace?

Dark River Palace?

Those in Dark River Palace are highly skilled in martial arts.

They can surely get rid of him for us.

All this time, Dark River Palace has been sending me gifts every year to please me.

Yet now, you want me to beg them?

How ridiculous.

But--

No buts!

Get someone to think of a way to kill all of those Japanese captives!

Yes.

Blossoms House has been closed for a year.

During this time, two brothels in Luoyang took over our customers.

They're both managed by Dark River Palace.

It isn't just the brothels.

All the businesses run by Dark River Palace have resurfaced.

In the eight provinces of the north, from banks, restaurants, brothels

salt parlors, pharmacies, to bodyguard agencies

there are businesses run by Dark River Palace.

Their financial power is much greater than we expected.

Anye Luo has always wanted more than just the Pugilist World.

Prince Jingxian has colluded with him for many years.

He has his informants in the Imperial Court.

Right now, I can only hope that he hasn't planted anyone in the army.

Prince Jingyuan has always been the dominant power in the army.

I believe that Prince Jingyuan wouldn't collude with Anye Luo.

So it should be safe for now.

It's only a matter of time before Anye Luo approaches Yu Zi Han.

When will Yu Zi Han arrive in Luoyang?

Tonight.

Your Highness, have some water.

We should arrive in Luoyang soon.

Your Highness.

Thank you.

Your Highness, why do you seem so troubled?

Are you worried about something?

Now that we're getting closer, I feel more and more timid.

Don't keep asking if you don't understand.

His Highness is meeting Young Mistress for the first time

since that near-death encounter.

Your Highness, don't mind me.

I don't know much about such matters.

You-- You make it sound like I do.

You're a woman. It's different.

You'd surely understand more than I do.

Isn't that Prince Jingyuan?

You're right. But weren't his legs--

He can walk now?

The good are always rewarded.

- Exactly. - Here, let's drink.

Here.

Your Highness, congratulations on the recovery of your legs.

Madam Blossom, is the lady I like in the house today?

Yes, she is.

Your Highness, please follow me.

Your Highness, it's right in the front.

His legs...

It's Young Master Yu.

Exactly! Isn't that Young Master Yu?

Young Master Yu can walk now.

- He has recovered. - Exactly.

Exactly. Who could have known?

How have his legs healed?

Exactly, look. It's true.

This is it.

Your Highness, please go ahead.

Here, I'll drink to you.

Senior Yu.

Ru Ge...

I heard from those pugilists that you defeated the Japanese

and brought peace to our people.

So the gods blessed you with the ability to walk again.

I couldn't believe it.

Are you happy?

Of course.

Since I was a child, I always thought that if you could stand up

you'd be just as skilled as Zhan Feng in martial arts.

So you always found it a pity that I was disabled.

No, that's not what I meant.

You, Senior Feng, and Senior Ji mean the same to me.

I... What I'm trying to say is...

That's really not what I meant.

Don't misunderstand.

Ge'er...

I've been waiting for this day.

The day I could truly hold you in my arms

without you having to crouch down.

I know that you've never looked down on me.

Do you remember what I told you?

For the rest of this lifetime... let me take care of you.

Senior Yu...

Before I made my way to Mount Yi

I reported to my father that I'd be marrying you soon.

Wedding preparations are already underway at the palace.

We can't.

We can't get married.

Senior Yu, we can't get married.

What did you say?

Before you went off to war, you told me to give you some hope.

That's why I didn't tell you.

But I can't keep it from you any longer.

Yin Xue and I...
