[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 28]

Young Mistress, you need not examine me.

I've lost all my martial arts skills.

Why?

Grand Mentor was already seriously injured

and yet he used his inner force at the military camp that day.

He nearly died.

Fortunately, the few decades of martial arts skills in me

were enough to save his life.

It's all because of me and Senior Yu.

It was also for the sake of our people on the coast.

There's no time to lose.

We must get right down to serious matters.

Yes.

Grand Mentor and I are going to take you up to Misty Peak.

Right now, that's the safest place.

It's also the only place Dark River Palace can't get to.

Young Mistress.

I won't go.

Young Mistress, please reconsider.

That day at the military camp at the Eastern Sea

it was tough enough to take on Anye Jue, even with so many of us.

If...

If Supreme Master Anye Luo wants you dead...

it would be too easy.

Mister Youqin, there's no use in trying to persuade me.

I won't go with you.

Grand Mentor already guessed that you'd refuse to go there.

The elder is indeed a man of great foresight.

I have another plan.

You'll take me to Senior Yu?

Yes.

I was thinking of that too.

Why don't I tell you what my plan is, to see if it's what you have in mind?

When I get to Ping An Town, I intend to make it known to everyone

as I send Lei Jing Hong off on a ship.

You're going to attract attention?

Are you sick of living?

If our disappearance is kept secret

then no one will ever find out, even if we're killed.

People would surely assume that I'm still in Flame Villa.

As for Lei Jing Hong, his disappearance needs no explanation.

The more attention you attract, the safer you will be.

However incompetent I may be, I'm still the Madam of Flame Villa.

Lei Jing Hong is a Young Master.

Moreover, the situation in Thunderclap Sect is unknown.

I believe that no one would dare to openly hunt us down.

But you have to watch out for assassins.

Yes, that's what I was thinking.

I wonder what you have in mind, Sir.

If both of us can think of this, it won't be hard for others to guess.

I think...

that someone must be watching Yu Zi Han by now.

So...

It's best to not head straight to Yu Zi Han at the Eastern Sea.

You should ask to meet him somewhere else.

Let Yu Zi Han find a way to break free and meet you.

Senior Yu and I do have a way to send messages to each other.

But Yi Lang already found out about it.

Huang Cong, you must go over to Senior Yu in person

and set a location for the meet up.

- Yes! - She mustn't.

Youqin Hong has lost all of his martial arts power.

And I only have a third of my original powers.

Young Master Lei is also severely wounded.

She's the only one who can protect you.

So she mustn't be the messenger.

The elder is right.

Why don't you send me instead?

It isn't dangerous to deliver a letter.

If I stay here, I'll just be a burden.

Why don't you send me to the Eastern Sea instead?

Master Youqin, please don't worry.

The elder saved my senior and me.

I'll do my best to protect him.

Miss Ru Ge.

Sir.

We must set out tomorrow.

Why aren't you getting some rest?

Sir, can you tell me about Yin Xue?

Do you miss him deeply?

I'm indebted to him.

If you just feel indebted to him, then it's best to forget it.

Yin Xue is...

He knew everything about me.

But apart from the titles that people gave him

I know nothing about him.

What would you like to know?

What was he like as a child?

When did he start training as your disciple?

Why did he leave Misty Peak?

After he left Misty Peak

why did he build Blossoms House in Luoyang?

Did he have any family?

He was... a ruthless murderer who took innumerable lives.

That's impossible. How could that be?

Sir, you must be joking with me.

He was the most gifted of all my disciples.

But then he began to think more and more highly of himself.

He went astray and joined Dark River Palace.

By seniority, that monster, Anye Luo, was Yin Xue's junior.

What happened then?

Then...

He was punished by the wrath of Heaven.

After he came to his senses, he returned to our lineage.

He had to kneel and kowtow

all the way up the 1,008 steps of deities to the Grand Hall.

Just to beg me to accept him back into Misty Deity Lineage.

How was he punished?

The love of his life died because of him.

The love of his life?

Now that Yin Xue is dead

there's no need to hold on to past grievances.

Mentor, why won't you reunite with Miss Ru Ge?

15 years of your powers are just enough to prolong my life by a few months.

In a few months...

Yin Xue will cease to exist in this world.

Why would I reunite with her, just to have her witness my death again?

Mentor...

Now that you've lost your powers

you must be careful on your way to the military camp by the Eastern Sea.

Yes.

I won't be by your side. Please look after yourself.

I'll go get ready.

Xiao Yan.

Have Deputy Master and Madam made up?

You're always asking for gossip.

Congratulations.

Deputy Master might be a deputy in name

but he's the one with full authority now.

Don't spout such nonsense.

Mister Zhongli.

You are...

I'm the maid serving in Deputy Master's quarters.

I came from Top Blade City.

That's why you don't know me.

I heard that Madam called a carriage two days ago.

She took Young Master Lei and went all the way to Jiangnan.

They have already run into several groups of assassins.

She should've arrived at Top Blade City by now.

Why isn't Head Housekeeper Yi at the villa?

Where did he go?

Master Lie.

Although I didn't dare to say this while you were still alive

you've always been like a father to me, in my heart.

Young Mistress was your only child.

You fought all your life to establish Flame Villa.

I'll protect both of them for you, even if it costs me my life.

[Azure Dragon Hall]

Mister Zhongli is here.

- Mister Zhongli. - Mister Zhongli.

Mister Zhongli.

Mister Zhongli.

- Mister Zhongli. - Mister Zhongli.

Mister Zhongli.

Gentleman, it's been hard on you.

Mister Zhongli, what brings you here at this hour...

You...

I picked each and every one of you from the different branches.

Now, Master Lie has died wrongfully and Madam is in grave danger.

I'd like to ask all of you...

Are you willing to follow my lead as your Hall Master again?

Mister Zhongli, you...

Yes.

That's right.

I want you to betray Deputy Master and Head Housekeeper Yi.

This is...

Betray... betray Deputy Master?

This is...

You can choose to report me tonight.

And have me executed.

Or you can choose to follow my lead, like you used to.

Lay down your lives to protect Madam and Flame Villa.

This... This is...

I'm willing to follow Hall Master Zhongli!

- So am I! - So am I!

Hall Master Zhongli, please get up quickly.

Hall Master, what should we do next?

Send out messages to disciples in all the branches of Azure Dragon Hall

to protect Madam and her friends, whatever the cost.

Within the villa

hold off all information regarding Madam and Thunderclap Sect.

Deputy Master and Head Housekeeper Yi are not to be notified.

We'll make them deaf and blind to the outside world

so that they don't get a hold of Madam's whereabouts.

Yes!

There's one more matter to keep in mind.

Although there are 207 branches in Azure Dragon Hall

and thousands of messenger doves, we only have 600 disciples in total.

It's a huge difference compared

to the thousands of disciples in other halls.

So we mustn't tackle them head on.

Don't let Deputy Master and Yi Lang get anything on us.

Preserve our strength.

Until the final battle.

Yes, Hall Master!

It's cheap.

Ru Ge!

Mrs. Huang!

You've returned?

That's great.

Everyone missed you!

Mrs. Huang, how have you been?

I've been well! Really well.

This is...

Isn't this Young Master Lei?

What happened to you?

He's not Young Master Lei anymore.

He flirted with someone's wife and got beaten up.

So he came to me for help, to send him back to Jiangnan.

I don't believe a word you said.

Exactly! Mrs. Huang, if I wanted to flirt

I'd have flirted with someone's daughter.

I'd never flirt with someone else's wife.

This is...

He's my husband's mentor.

Where's your husband?

He's away on an errand.

Mrs. Huang, I wonder if you have some leftovers to spare?

That's not a problem!

I'll cook you a meal right away.

Great! Thank you, Mrs. Huang.

She's in Ping An Town?

Yes.

She appears to be fearless.

She brought along Lei Jing Hong and that royal security officer.

And an elderly man.

An elderly man?

Our informant reported back that it's an elder we've never met.

Could he be Lie Ming Jing's former subordinate?

I thought that girl would keep hiding from us.

Who knew that she'd come to Ping An Town?

Perfect. That saves us the trouble of looking for her.

We wanted to get rid of her without anyone knowing.

Now... we mustn't interfere with her.

She is Madam of Flame Villa, after all.

We'll leave it to Zhan Feng and Yi Lang to kill her.

Then what should we do now?

Head over there and ask nicely.

Ask her to leave.

I understand.

Sir, we'll spend the night here.

Young Mistress Lie.

We're already being targeted.

I know.

You're injured. Stay here.

Huang Cong can handle them alone.

Security Officer Huang, take them out in the courtyard.

Don't alarm the neighbors.

Yes, Young Mistress.

Don't worry.

Ru Ge!

The food is ready!

I'll help you.

- You made so much, Mrs. Huang! - Eat up.

By the way, I saw those people from Top Blade City again

on my way here.

I wonder what could've happened this time?

I'll go take a look.

Madam Lie, you're really here.

Deputy Castellan Dao.

Madam Lie might feel offended by what I'm about to say

but I still have to say it.

Go ahead.

Deputy Master Zhan has given orders to the Pugilist World

to hunt down Lei Jing Hong.

By right, Top Blade City must respond to it.

However, Madam Lie, you're protecting the suspect.

We find ourselves in a difficult position.

Deputy Castellan Dao, don't worry.

I definitely won't linger.

That's good to know.

You're to stay here with Madam Lie until they leave Top Blade City's turf.

- Yes! - Yes!

Apologies.

Take your time to eat.

I'll head back to tidy up.

Sure. Thank you, Mrs. Huang.

Don't mention it.

Dao Wu Hen brought a lot of his men with him.

What did he want from you?

He told us to leave as soon as possible.

He certainly is a gentleman for kicking us when we're down.

Sir, the food might be simple

but at least we can eat to our heart's content.

From now on...

I'm afraid we won't get to eat like this again.

Here, we should eat it all up to get ready to fight.

Ge'er, is there room in your heart for me?

There is. Right?

There isn't.

If I let you go now, would you let me put the shoes on for you?

Who locks someone's acupuncture point

just to put shoes on for her?

I'm so sleepy.

I'm going to sleep.

Sleep.

Sir, is the food not to your liking?

Some memories came to mind.

Deputy Master!

You have a visitor.

Who is it?

It's a stunningly beautiful man dressed in red.

He said...

that he's your maternal uncle.

I already led him into Maple Quarters.

Deputy Master, fret not.

I came up with an excuse to make your wife leave the quarters.

Zhan Feng.

Uncle.

You've been avoiding me these days.

So I had to come to you myself.

I was too careless and Lei Jing Hong got away.

I've let you down, Uncle.

Lei Jing Hong is just your scapegoat.

It's just to deceive everyone else.

He's not at all important.

So many years have gone by.

Same place, different faces.

I can finally stand here, out in the open.

This is all because of you.

My Zhan Feng...

You're Yi Lang, Lie Ming Jing's godson?

Yes.

Do you know who I am?

Supreme Master of Dark River Palace.

Anye Luo.

You're smart.

I heard that you're working for Zhan Feng.

Yes.

Then how about doing something for me?

I'll do my best to carry out Supreme Master's orders...

Kill Lie Ru Ge.

No!

Uncle, you promised me.

You said that you wouldn't kill her.

But you let her get away.

You've given her a chance by letting her get away.

You're giving up the villa to her.

What have we worked so hard for all these years?

Isn't it so that we could take back what rightfully belonged to your parents?

Go kill Lie Ru Ge.

Then you can be Deputy Master.

Yes.

They will arrive in Xiangyang Town in three days.

If they travel beyond that, it's Thunderclap Sect's turf.

That will be our last chance to kill Lie Ru Ge.

Yes.

I promise!

I'll track her down for you.

She'll always remain in Plum Quarters, never to leave again!

Zhan Feng, you're too kind.

You've already let me down once.

Once is enough.

Madam Lie, if you keep going ahead

you'll no longer be in Top Blade City's jurisdiction.

Take care.

Thank you, Deputy Castellan Dao.

Let's go.

Young Mistress, we're out in the open.

It's best not to linger.

We should get going quickly.

Quickly!

Disciples of Azure Dragon Hall!

Madam, rest assured!

We'll protect you with our lives!

Could you have remembered the time incorrectly?

It can't be wrong.

We agreed on noon.

Phoenix will bring my men here to pick me up.

Perhaps she has been held up?

I'm just scared that there might've been an accident.

I'm so worried that something bad happened to them.

They are the only ones who chose to stick by me when I was down.

We're just like brothers.

Every one of them is like my kin!

It's been three days.

Isn't there any news of Madam?

Deputy Master, there really isn't any.

All right.

You're dismissed.

If there's any news, inform me and Deputy Master right away.

Yes!

In the past, Azure Dragon Hall had intelligent networks

stretched across the Pugilist World.

Who would've known that they'd be so incompetent now?

Yi Lang, you're responsible for it.

I only just took over Azure Dragon Hall.

That's enough!

Since Azure Dragon Hall isn't of much use

Hall Master Murong and Hall Master Ling

take your men with you to gather some news!

- Yes. - Yes.

Young Mistress.

Well?

The disciples of the three Thunderclap Sect branches

are trapped by other pugilists.

They've run out of rations after being on the river for days.

I'm afraid... that they can't even fend for themselves now.

How could this have happened?

Who would've known that even if I managed to escape from Flame Villa

I would have nowhere else to go?

We'll wait for a while longer.

Branch masters, please save Young Master.

Branch Master, our three branches have suffered great casualties.

We're incapable of rescuing Young Master.

Right now... only you can save him.

Not only are we going to rescue Young Master

but we'll also bring home the disciples of those three branches.

Thunderclap Sect has been split up.

Master Lei won't be able to rest in peace!

Tomorrow, we'll gather all the branch masters and head to headquarters!

Thank you, Branch Masters!

How about this?

Come with us to meet Senior Yu.

You have to stay alive to plan the next step.

Miss Phoenix!

You've come back.

You managed to escape with the disciples?

- I don't know. - You don't know?

What does that mean?

But there's hope for us!

There's hope for us?

Phoenix, what are you saying?

I don't understand a word.

The branch masters promised me that they would rescue you.

I was scared that you'd be too anxious, so I came here on my own.

The branch masters?

All of Thunderclap Sect's branch masters promised me to come and fetch you.

On my way here

some disciples sent a message to inform me

of a drastic change at headquarters.

I think that they might've already taken back Thunderclap Sect.

The branch masters finally believe me?

I don't know the details.

Anyway, there's hope that we'll be saved.

Let's rush back to headquarters now.

Once we get to Xiangyang Town, we'll be back on our turf.

No one will dare lay a finger on you!

All right!

Young Master is in danger.

What should we do?

Young Master is in danger.

Second Madam is here.

Second Madam.

What is the matter?

Why are you all gathered here?

Second Madam.

Young Master is being hunted by fellow pugilists.

If we don't bring him back, I'm afraid that it will end badly.

Yes. There are also the disciples from those branches.

- They're waiting for us to rescue them. - Exactly!

Since they decided to follow Lei Jing Hong

they no longer belong to Thunderclap Sect.

If we do nothing to save Young Master when he's being hunted

how are we worthy of Master Lei's trust?

Second Madam, please set your personal grudges aside

and give orders to rescue Young Master and the disciples.

Second Madam, please give orders to do so!

Second Madam, please give orders to bring Young Master back!

Second Madam, please give orders to bring Young Master back!

What if I refuse?

Second Madam, please reconsider.

Reconsider?

Have you forgotten?

That day, in front of Lei Hen Tian's funeral altar

who forced Lei Jing Hong to leave?

Don't blame me for not reminding you.

Even if you save Young Master now

he will make you pay for what you did to him then.

That day, you chose me as your leader.

You can't choose another now.

That day, I made a mistake.

But I mustn't make another mistake today.

Exactly.

Young Master is Master Lei's only child.

If he dies, I'd be letting Master Lei down.

I'd also disappoint thousands of disciples in Thunderclap Sect!

- He's right. - Exactly.

That day, we only chose Second Madam to take charge

of Thunderclap Sect for the sake of general interests.

Young Master will surely understand that we meant well.

Even if he doesn't, we mustn't act without conscience.

Well said!

Neither of us can let Master Lei down.

- Exactly! - You're right!

We must save Young Master so as to not let Master Lei down!

If you could only serve one master

would you choose me or him?

We'd choose Young Master, of course.

Say that again.

Master of Thunderclap Sect has to be from the Lei family.

Yan Niang, don't go overboard!

Go overboard?

How much have I done for Thunderclap Sect all these years?

Just because Lei Jing Hong is from the Lei family

you've forgotten all about my contributions?

Without Master Lei, you're nothing!

Have you forgotten?

You were just a maid that Master Lei brought home!

Is that so?

If you were to die before a former maid

would you feel quite wronged?

A disloyal man...

is worse than a dog.

Today, I'll take the lives of these dogs right here!

You can all join your Master Lei!

Anyone who betrays me, Anye Jue, won't come to a good end!

You--

I'm the Third Lady of Dark River Palace.

Anye Jue.

Witch!

Attack!

Attack!

Today, you've driven away the one person who could save your lives.

Heed my words!

The path up the mountain is so bumpy.

Why hasn't it been fixed?

Fixed?

That's what the officials do.

As for us, we're in no place to handle such matters.

Exactly, Young Master.

We only get to make a living because of this bumpy road.

Just keep following the young lady in red.

- Sure! - Yes, Young Master.

Come with me!

Hold it!

Zhan Feng!

Young Master.

- Young Master! - Young Master!

Do you think I'll let you off today?

If you wish to pick a fight, I'm happy to oblige.

I don't want to pick a fight today, but you have to give her back to me.

Absolutely not.

Thank you for coming to my rescue, Young Master Feng.

I am grateful.

Where is Lie Ru Ge?

Capture Zhan Feng to avenge Young Master!

Yes!

We'll let him off today!

Young Master, they set you up to get hunted down.

You were injured so badly because of it, how can we let him off?

It's all right. It's for Ru Ge's sake.

Deputy Master Zhan, since you came to rescue Ru Ge today

I'll spare your life.

Please leave.

Uncles, thank you for coming so far to fetch me!

Welcome back to Thunderclap Sect, Young Master!

[Xue's Flat Bread Stall]

- It's cheap. - Come and have a look.

Who are you looking for?

There's no one there.

Madam, where is Lie Ru Ge?

Ru Ge?

I don't know.

She hasn't returned since she left with Young Master Lei.

Ge'er...

Where exactly are you?
