[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 27]

Who was Young Mistress thinking about?

Young Master Lei.

Young Master Lei?

Which Young Master Lei?

Lei Jing Hong, Young Master Lei.

Why would Young Mistress think about him?

It's because...

It's because...

Say it!

It's because Young Mistress said that she likes him.

Young Mistress often says that she would do anything for him

as long as Young Master Lei keeps her on his mind.

Yi Lang...

Women are known to be infatuated by love.

What a pity.

What a pity.

Hall Master Yi must've staged such a show for everyone

since it's getting so serious in here.

Hall Master Yi, you're so thoughtful.

Who Young Mistress likes doesn't concern us.

But over 10 lives were taken.

We can't just set the murderer free.

Hall Master Murong.

Present.

What are your orders, Madam?

Who are my personal maids?

Die Yi and Xun Yi.

Have you ever seen this maid attending to me?

I've never seen her before.

Since Hall Master Yi is so interested in my personal affairs

why don't you ask my most intimate maid, Xun Yi over?

Bring Xun Yi here!

I'm afraid that as Young Mistress's personal maid

she wouldn't dare say a word.

Even if she does speak, she might not be telling the truth.

Hall Master Yi means to say

that this young lady isn't my confidant at all.

She's just a young maid who cleans my quarters.

Since she isn't my confidant

why would I tell her who I like or don't like?

- She's right. - Indeed.

She has a point.

Hall Master Yi.

The next time you stage another act, be sure to get all the details right.

Security Officer Huang, please come in!

Master Taoist.

Madam Lie.

She's Prince Jingyuan's personal guard.

- Exactly. - I've met her before.

She was the Imperial Court's Head Female Constable.

Last night, I went with Madam Lie to Miaohe Town's desolate hills

to investigate the Qilin Bombs.

When the bombs went off, Lei Jing Hong was with me and Madam Lie.

He couldn't have possibly fought with Yi Lang at the same time.

This is...

Security Officer Huang testified.

It must be true.

It can't be wrong.

- Exactly. - Is Head Housekeeper Yi lying?

Exactly.

Head Housekeeper Yi.

You shouldn't address me as Young Mistress.

You should address me as Madam.

Yes, Madam.

I'll ask you one last time.

Are you certain that the man you fought last night was Lei Jing Hong?

I didn't see clearly.

I mistook someone else for him.

- Look at this situation. - Exactly.

Exactly.

I won't punish you.

But from now on, you're no longer one of us.

Leave Flame Villa today.

Otherwise, I can't ensure that you'll survive.

Yes.

Everyone, this is the Qilin Bomb that Lei Jing Hong gave me last night.

This is... Why didn't it...

Please follow me to the back of the mountain.

I'll demonstrate how the Qilin Bomb is actually detonated.

This is so powerful.

I believe you have all seen it.

The Qilin Bomb can only be detonated by pulling out the safety pin.

You should know how skilled my father was.

My father can sense skilled pugilists 100 miles from him.

How many skilled pugilists could get near my father?

This only proves that Lei Jing Hong didn't do it himself.

Thunderclap Sect has many disciples.

He's right.

Why do you insist that it's Thunderclap Sect, Castellan Dao?

Couldn't the secret formula to their explosives have been leaked?

If such information could be easily leaked

how could Thunderclap Sect stand so firm in the Pugilist World?

We have an expelled branch master of Thunderclap Sect here.

He's in charge of making explosives.

He's also the one who made the Qilin Bombs.

If a huge reward is used to bribe him

would he not produce more Qilin Bombs, Castellan Dao?

What are you opinions?

What do you think of this matter?

Madam.

Thunderclap Sect has a secret formula for their explosives.

It usually requires about 10 steps to make a single bomb.

The most crucial procedure is left to their master.

Therefore, after all the explosives are half done

their master is in charge of finishing them off

so as to prevent the formula from being leaked.

This is both good and bad, in a way.

Although it can prevent the formula from being leaked

it's impossible to mass produce enough explosives

to take over the Pugilist World.

Madam Lie is inexperienced.

It's understandable that she doesn't know about it.

Exactly!

Everyone, Master Lie was killed by the Qilin Bomb.

Die Yi was also killed by it.

That is Thunderclap Sect's unique weapon.

That's indisputable!

Lei Jing Hong can't be cleared of suspicion!

Take Lei Jing Hong into the cell to be closely monitored.

Yes!

No!

Take Lei Jing Hong to the Maple Quarters.

I'll keep an eye on him.

- To prevent any accidents. - Yes.

Move along!

Why go to all this trouble?

We might as well just kill Lie Ru Ge.

That's the best way out.

Zhan Feng couldn't bear to do that.

He went soft on her today in the hall.

He didn't even say a word.

If he hadn't done that, Lie Ru Ge wouldn't have the upper hand.

Did he really stay quiet?

He did.

Why has he gone soft-hearted?

He's the one who would benefit most from Lie Ru Ge's death

not Supreme Master.

Some men are wishy-washy like women.

They put romance before their career.

There's no good food or wine in this lousy town.

Let's head back to Top Blade City.

There's nothing we can do now.

We can't leave yet.

I don't feel at ease.

What are you still worried about?

I can only relax when I hear that Lei Jing Hong is dead.

Inform our men.

Keep a close eye on every move in Flame Villa.

Yes, Wu Xia.

Young Mistress, you mustn't go out.

Young Master Feng has given orders.

Anyone who goes near him is to be killed!

He's so badly injured.

He'll die if I don't go to him!

Young Mistress, listen!

There are too many skilled pugilists around

so even if you save him now, you'll both be killed

before you get out of here!

Deputy Master doesn't regard you as his wife so he won't spare you.

Young Mistress, you mustn't go out now.

Young Mistress...

You have to consider carefully.

Young Mistress!

Don't...

Miss Xun Yi, what are you doing here?

I'm here to see Deputy Master's wife.

Greetings, Mrs. Zhan.

What is it?

Young Mistress would like to see you.

How is Lei Jing Hong doing?

He's not allowed to have any food or water.

He's out there in the sun and wind.

If this continues, within three days

he'll surely die from severe injuries.

I think that they're planning on leaving him there to die.

He only took the risk to come here out of his trust in me.

Prepare a carriage for me.

You... Are you going to save him?

I won't just save him, I'll escort him out personally.

You're leaving too?

If I don't leave with him, I'm worried that he'll be seized on the way.

I'm Madam of Flame Villa.

Although I can't deploy an army, no one would dare to kill me recklessly.

What then?

How will you face everyone at Flame Villa?

He's the suspect accused of killing your father.

I'll go to Senior Yu.

I can't just sit on the sidelines anymore.

Otherwise, not only will I not be able to avenge my father and Die Yi

I'll get Lei Jing Hong and those around me killed too.

I'll go and get it done now.

Ru Ge.

Thank you.

Here are some silver taels and a few different outfits.

I'll put them here.

There's no knowing when you can return.

You must remember to spend the silver taels slowly.

Otherwise, it will be troublesome to travel without any money.

I've also packed you some medicine for external use.

Don't forget about it.

Die Yi will be watching over you.

Xun Yi, come with me.

We'll go to Senior Ji.

We'll explain it to him and tell him to never come back to the villa.

He could retire from the Pugilist World with you.

Miss Dao was here just now so I couldn't tell you.

Young Master Ji still believes that Young Master Feng is just confused.

He will surely return to the villa.

I have to wait here till he returns and stay by his side.

But I'm scared that--

Young Mistress.

It's been years.

When have you ever seen me at a disadvantage?

Never.

Die Yi was a lot bossier than you.

But she was always the one who suffered.

Indeed.

That's why... If no one could tread me down in the past

they won't be able to now either.

But everything's different now.

Young Mistress.

You have to trust me.

I'll take good care of myself.

But--

No buts.

You're the Young Mistress of Flame Villa.

How can you always be worried about a maid?

You're not a maid.

You're my sister.

Then for my sake... and for Die Yi's, please take good care of yourself.

So should you.

Take good care of yourself.

You, there.

Get out!

Yes!

Kill me if you wish!

Why did you risk your life to come here?

"The mind of the superior man is conversant with righteousness

the mind of the mean man is conversant with gain."

If you hadn't shown up, she would've just feigned illness.

She could've just continued being the Young Mistress.

But since you showed up, she has to save you.

If she saves you...

then it means that she's going against me.

It's all because of what you did.

You forced her into going against you.

Would you care for some wine?

My life will be worthwhile if I get to be drunk before I die.

Go on and drink then.

Close the door behind you.

Yes.

Who is it?

It's me, Senior Feng.

May I come in?

Senior Feng?

The door isn't locked. Come in.

The wine smells great.

I caught a whiff of it when I came in.

What is it called?

Burning Blade.

Burning Blade?

It's actually the most common type.

Indeed, it isn't always the expensive wine that tastes good.

Do you know why I'm here?

Why?

Because I craved wine all of a sudden.

I remember that both you and Senior Ji love to drink.

You'd both drink urn after urn.

That's why I've always wondered who could drink more, you or Senior Ji.

I remember that the both of you once stole about 10 urns of my father's wine.

You made me and Senior Ji the judges.

I won.

You're wrong.

You didn't win.

Because someone cheated.

Who cheated?

I did.

When you got to the eighth urn, I was worried that you might lose.

So I diluted the wine in the rest of the urns.

Why?

Senior Ji just laughs it off when he loses.

But when you lose, you can't get past it for ages.

You've always been like this.

You have to be perfect in everything.

You had to be the best in martial arts.

You had to be the fastest.

You had to be the most ferocious while wielding a blade.

Senior Yu outdid you in poetry and was praised by our tutor.

You were unhappy for three months.

You kept studying poetry.

Until our tutor complimented you too.

That was why I couldn't let you lose back then.

Because I wanted you to be happy.

Because I had always thought of you as a hero.

A hero...

can't tolerate any failure.

Nor can he fail.

That's why I liked you so much.

I liked you so much that I forgot who I was.

But I've realized that I was wrong.

A hero...

wouldn't achieve his goals at the expense of others.

Yet you...

You're just an unscrupulous man.

If there's anyone in your way

you'd resort to any means necessary to get rid of them.

It was that way for the eight-year-old Xie Xiao Feng

as well as for Ying Yi and Die Yi.

It's the same for Lei Jing Hong.

And as for me...

I'm no exception either.

Perhaps I should thank you.

Thank you for not killing me.

But you should've killed me.

That might've made things easier.

You wouldn't have had to bring me home to spy on me.

Do you really want to be Master that much?

You shouldn't become Madam of Flame Villa.

I don't wish to be one.

But neither you nor Yi Lang will become the Master.

Why did you pick on Thunderclap Sect?

Is it because you wanted to frame someone as my father's murderer

or is it because Lei Jing Hong is the heir to the sect?

Once he's dead

Thunderclap Sect will be left without a successor.

Or perhaps...

it's both.

You shouldn't know about any of this.

I see.

I wasn't supposed to know about anything.

You should just do as you wish.

You shouldn't know about such foul matters.

I drugged your wine.

I guess it's best to kill me.

Ge'er...

It's dangerous out there.

Will you wait till I'm dead...

before you leave?

Do you think I'd poison you to death?

Are you all right? Can you walk?

I'm fine.

Carefully.

Come in!

Castellan, Deputy Castellan.

A carriage has just left Flame Villa.

No guards were escorting it.

There was only a driver, and we can't tell who's in it.

I'll go have a look.

No.

I will.

Huang Cong.

We'll head out to meet with Senior Yu.

It's been hard on you.

How are your injuries?

They're just external injuries.

It's not serious.

You're still putting on a brave front.

You're half dead.

Those scoundrels dream of leaving me half dead?

They wish!

What are you doing?

Just let me hold it for a while.

Come with me.

Not now.

But once I leave

it makes me the official enemy of Top Blade City and Flame Villa.

It'll be hard to see you again.

Come with me.

Forget about Top Blade City.

It isn't because of Top Blade City.

It's for your sake.

For me?

It's shocking enough if both of you escape.

If I go missing as well

they can't handle such a drastic change in the Pugilist World.

Who cares about the Pugilist World?

How does that concern me?

Of course it does!

If you offend my brothers, nothing good will come out of it.

Besides, you'll be on the run.

I can't put you two in more danger.

But I--

Next time...

When I see you next time, I'll definitely leave with you.

I promise.

You must wait for me.

I will.

Ru Ge, will they pick on Die Yi and Xun Yi when they see that we're gone?

Die Yi...

What happened to Die Yi?

That night, when Flame Villa was attacked...

Die Yi was killed.

What?

If I had known, I would've taken her away with me!

Taken her away?

You and her...

She... She's my younger sister.

When you said you were looking for a friend's sister...

you were actually looking for yours.

Die Yi was your younger sister?

Did you tell her?

You should have.

She always wanted to have a family of her own.

But her mother is Anye Jue.

I couldn't bring myself to tell her that.

It has already come to this.

It won't help to brood over it.

I believe that one day, you'll surely avenge her.

Who is in the carriage?

Could you show yourself?

I wonder why you're leaving the mountain in such a hurry.

Lie Xiang?

Wu Xia?

Why are you leaving the mountain?

Zhan Feng has moved Lie Ru Ge into Maple Quarters.

I'm quite displeased about it

so I was going to stay in Top Blade City for a few days.

What?

He even gave orders to keep Yi Lang's men away from Maple Quarters.

Zhan Feng shouldn't have done that.

But you can't just leave the villa as you wish.

You're the Deputy Master's wife.

How can you run off to your maiden home because of a trivial matter?

I've never spent the night with him since we got married.

It isn't like you don't already know.

It's fine as long as you're husband and wife in name.

Let's go.

Head back with me.

Where?

We'll return to Flame Villa.

I'll put in a good word for you with Young Master Feng

in case there's a misunderstanding.

I'll ride in the carriage with you.

What is it?

What's wrong with that?

Nothing.

After you.

Deputy Master Zhan.

Deputy Master Zhan?

Lie Xiang, go get someone.

Sure.

Hold on.

Take him back to your room first.

It wouldn't be good if anyone else sees that he slept here.

What happened to me?

Deputy Master, I just had it investigated.

Your wine was drugged.

Who could've drugged your wine?

You didn't even know that someone drugged your wine?

All right now.

Deputy Master needs to get some rest.

We won't disturb you.

I'll wait for you at the door.

He obviously knows what happened.

Why didn't he say a word?

I just got back from the mountain.

Because you moved Lie Ru Ge into Maple Quarters

and it made me look bad.

Then, I ran into my eldest brother.

He intercepted me and brought me back here.

You unlocked the cuffs on Lei Jing Hong's hands and feet.

Was it intentional or just accidental?

You won't be able to hide this from your brother.

He won't let you off if you leave the room now.

- Castellan. - What is it?

What's taking your mistress so long?

Young Master Feng won't let her leave.

He and Young Mistress...

They're getting some rest.

Haven't they always slept in separate rooms?

They sleep together sometimes.

Young Mistress was too angry before and left the villa.

Young Master Feng was just coaxing her.

Then the two of them...

I guess Zhan Feng is like any man.

- Castellan, are you leaving? - Yes.

Look after Third Young Mistress Dao.

No, I mean...

Mrs. Zhan.

Yes.

Look.

Madam escaped with Lei Jing Hong.

How outrageous is this?

She abandoned Flame Villa for Lei Jing Hong.

Is she trying to turn us into a laughing stock?

Murong, you've really spoiled her.

You even spoke up for her.

Look, in just a blink of the eye

she has taken the seal and has run away with the suspect!

Perhaps she has her reasons.

She escaped with the man who's suspected of murdering Master Lie.

That makes her our enemy, doesn't it?

She was afraid that we'd kill an innocent man

so she resorted to this.

Head Housekeeper Yi, you can't make it sound that serious.

Exactly. Although that little one has gone a bit overboard

you're way too biased, Yi Lang.

Whoever killed Master Lie is our enemy.

You--

She's an accomplice.

Such words...

Don't let me hear them again.

If anyone dares to lay a finger on her

they'll become my enemy.

Head Housekeeper Yi.

You shouldn't slander Madam.

Exactly! That's impetuous!

Convey my orders!

Madam was abducted by Lei Jing Hong.

All disciples are to report back should they receive any news.

They are not to alert the enemy.

Madam's safety comes first.

- Yes! - Yes!

Yes.

News of victory from the Eastern Sea!

Young Mistress, it's news of victory!

News of victory from the Eastern Sea!

News of victory from the Eastern Sea!

That's the Flame Seal.

News of victory from the Eastern Sea!

News of victory from the Eastern Sea!

Child, come.

Does this seal belong to you?

A white-haired scholar just dropped this.

A white-haired scholar?

Where is he?

He went that way.

That silhouette is so familiar.

Judging by the way he walks

he doesn't seem to be trained in martial arts.

Let's catch up with him first.

We'll return it to him for you.

Meat buns! Come again.

Meat buns!

Still nice and hot!

Young Mistress.

Mister Youqin?

Your hair...

Let's not talk about that yet.

Grand Mentor is waiting for you.

- The elder is inside? - Yes.

He told me to wait for you at the foot of the mountain.

At the foot of the mountain?

You already knew that I'd escape?

Grand Mentor also knew

that Ji Jing Lei never meant to hunt Lei Jing Hong down.

He also guessed that Lei Jing Hong would meet up with you.

As for what happened after that, he also guessed that right.

You've been following us?

Yes.

I've been following you since Lei Jing Hong met with you.

Take me to the elder.

Sir, it's Lie Ru Ge.

Young Mistress Lie, please come in.

Sir.

I heard that Master Lie was assassinated.

My condolences, Young Mistress.

We found accommodation quite hurriedly.

There's not much tea.

Please make do with this.

Mister Youqin, you needn't be so polite.

We're on the run.

We're not picky about such things.

Young Mistress, there's no need to examine me.

I've lost all of my martial arts skills.

Why?

Grand Mentor was seriously injured.

Yet he still used his inner force at the military camp that day

and nearly died from it.

Fortunately, the few decades of martial arts skills in me

were enough to save his life.

Your white hair...

is it because of him?

Yes.

It's all because of me and Senior Yu.

It was also for the sake of our people on the coast.

There's no time to lose, we must get right down to serious matters.

Yes.

Grand Mentor and I are going to take you up Misty Peak.

Right now, that's the safest place.

That's also the one place Dark River Palace can never get to.
