[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 26]

Looking down from Heaven, you couldn't bear to see the pear blossoms wither

so you brought back spring to the withered trees

to have them blossom again.

Young Mistress!

Huang Cong.

Young Mistress, Lei Jing Hong is here.

Has he really come?

It's always a good day when withered trees blossom again.

It's the Double-ninth Festival.

Who knew that Lei Jing Hong would also come on this day?

Huang Cong, do you know...

that last year, we actually spent Double-ninth Festival here, together?

It really is such a coincidence.

Exactly... It's such a coincidence.

Have you come up with an excuse to leave Flame Villa?

Of course.

Deputy Master.

How is Ru Ge?

She's much better.

It's the Double-ninth Festival, so I had them prepare a few more dishes

that are Young Mistress's favorites.

I'll take the medicine in and keep it warm.

Young Mistress can have it when she wakes up.

Sure.

Deputy Master.

Young Mistress said that she's craving the wontons from Miaohe Town.

The stall that she and Master Lie often went to?

I'll go get some.

But wontons taste best right after they're made.

You're right.

Get the carriage ready.

Have Security Officer Huang accompany her there.

- Then they can spend the night there. - Sure.

I'll send someone to escort them.

That's good too.

It's best to be cautious in such hectic times.

I don't want it.

Young Mistress.

It's still so tasty.

Sir, a bowl of wontons.

What's the filling? Is it good?

Huang Cong.

Young Mistress.

I don't like sharing a table.

You...

Yes. Anyone?

I dare you to touch me.

Don't move. It won't be good if you get hurt!

I... You--

It's getting late.

Why don't we spend the night here?

Sure.

Go and prepare for it.

- Yes. - Yes.

Young Mistress, I'm afraid that the villa will soon be informed

that you're staying over in Miaohe Town.

We won't be able to keep them in the dark for long.

This place is an hour away from Flame Villa.

We still have some time.

[Inn]

What took you so long?

This is the town closest to Flame Villa.

It's best to be cautious.

Yi Lang's men have already gone back to inform him.

Hurry and tell me how I can prove you innocent.

I have solid evidence but this isn't the right place.

Come with me.

You must all stay more alert tonight.

Don't fall asleep and make any mistakes.

- Yes! - Yes!

Head Housekeeper.

Madam isn't coming home tonight?

No.

Get Azure Dragon Hall to send out messages

to all the branches and pugilist sects.

Tell them it's highly likely

that Lei Jing Hong will show up in Miaohe Town tonight.

And...

Order our men to detonate explosives in Miaohe Town.

But... Madam is still there.

Whoever is there... it doesn't matter.

Yes.

Head Housekeeper.

Inform Xun Yi and Die Yi of Plum Quarters

that Madam is suddenly unwell, so she'll spend the night in Miaohe Town.

Deputy Master is worried about Madam's safety

so he'd like them to bring the medication down the mountain.

Do you understand?

Yes.

Deputy Master asked you to go over to Maple Quarters

to pick up the medication and bring it to Miaohe Town.

Deputy Master is so thoughtful.

You can head over there first, and I'll follow suit.

I'll do it.

What is it? Are you worried that Zhan Feng will be harsh on me?

I'm just a maid. Why would he pick on me?

Tonight is unlike any other night.

But it would seem like I'm hiding something if I don't show up.

All right then.

Die Yi!

You're heading out?

I'll be back shortly.

I've prepared quite a few dishes.

Come back soon.

You better get back quickly.

Be sure to make it back for dinner.

Look. These are Qilin Bombs.

Is this the one?

Be careful!

You mustn't touch that pin.

Once it comes loose, the bomb will explode.

It will be the end of us.

So you have to pull out the pin to detonate this bomb?

Exactly.

Although the bomb is powerful, it has a major fault.

You have to retreat to a safe distance while holding on to the pin

before the bomb is detonated.

That's very troublesome.

Exactly.

That's why we didn't produce too many of these.

It's a major flaw.

I wonder who would be so stupid as to frame me with a Qilin Bomb.

My father's training chamber is sturdy.

If that's so, it would take at least six bombs to destroy the chamber.

That means there would have to be six people holding on to the lead wire

outside the chamber.

How could nobody notice that?

You're right.

Yi Lang even said that the bombs went off outside the chamber.

There should be metallic boards in the walls of your father's chamber, right?

The metallic boards are three inches thick.

It can't be wrong then.

If Thunderclap Sect's explosives are capable

of damaging metallic boards and blowing someone into ashes

how could Flame Villa still rank first among the pugilist sects?

There's only one way that your father's body could've been burned to ashes.

The bomb had to be detonated within the chamber.

Exactly.

There were many ways to kill him.

So why did they choose a bomb?

Someone was trying to destroy his corpse and destroy the evidence!

Thank you for taking the risk to come here.

There's no need for that.

After all, I'm the accused.

And you're the only one who can clear my name.

Don't worry.

I'll definitely get to the bottom of it and clear your name.

- But-- - I have my methods.

All right.

I'll demonstrate how the Qilin Bomb works.

I'll use this one and you can take the other one home.

Yi Lang?

What are you doing?

Why did Lie Ru Ge leave the villa?

She went out for wontons!

You used to go there with Master Lie too.

Have you forgotten?

It's that stall you frequented every year!

She's there to meet Lei Jing Hong.

Is Lei Jing Hong there?

Didn't he escape back to Jiangnan when Young Master Ji went after him?

I'll ask you again.

Did Lie Ru Ge leave the villa to meet Lei Jing Hong?

I'll say this one last time.

No, she didn't!

Do you fear death?

Do you think that you can do whatever you want with me

just because you're the head housekeeper?

Look. What is this?

Qilin Bomb.

It was you?

You killed Master Lie!

You actually killed your own godfather?

Despicable rat! You'll die a terrible death!

I killed him.

Do you see this safety pin?

I just have to pull this out gently

for this entire room to go up in a "Boom!"

You'll disappear completely.

Even if you refuse to tell me, I already know about it.

I've already informed all the pugilists, far and wide.

Lei Jing Hong can't get away.

Even if you think you know everything, you won't get a word out of me!

I have another question for you.

How did Lei Jing Hong get here?

Who informed him?

Ji Jing Lei?

Come over to my side.

I'll spare your life.

I'd also like to have a taste of the women in Plum Quarters.

In your dreams!

Why would you fall for that useless Zhongli Wulei?

You're the useless scum!

No one would ever fall for scum like you!

How am I inferior to him?

Or else...

I'll let him die with you.

Yi Lang!

You...

If you dare to hurt him

I won't let you off even if I become a ghost!

Become a ghost then.

I'll be waiting.

I'll detonate it now.

Miaohe Town!

It must be Yi Lang.

Leave quickly.

Flame Villa?

Xiao Yan!

Young Mistress.

Did you hear that?

I did. It seems to have come from the east of our quarters.

Madam! Madam!

I'll stay to protect Madam.

You all, go take a look.

Yes!

Come with me.

Yes!

Fire!

Fire!

Help!

Fire!

What are you taking? Leave it! Run!

Be careful!

Run!

Run for your lives!

Run!

Run!

Help!

Run!

Run in that direction!

Help!

Run!

Young Mistress!

Huang Cong!

Young Mistress, are you all right?

What exactly happened?

Someone set bombs off in Miaohe Town.

There was also an explosion in the villa.

It's too dangerous here. We better head back now.

I got it. Let's rush back to Flame Villa.

Yes!

Keep an eye on this place!

What are you doing?

Mister Zhongli, the villa is now in chaos.

Deputy Master gave orders to keep everyone in Plum Quarters from leaving.

Brothers of Flame Villa, I've never been unkind to any of you.

Let me go take a look.

We don't dare to defy the order!

Can you at least tell me where the accident happened?

Or can you just tell me where Die Yi is?

Mister Zhongli, it's the guest room.

The guest room exploded.

Miss Die Yi...

What happened to Die Yi?

Miss Die Yi has gone missing.

She... was heading to Maple Quarters.

How is she missing?

I don't know.

Don't you dare hold me back!

Step aside!

Go and save Die Yi. I'll hold down the fort.

Quickly!

Yes.

Young Master Lei, you're in such a hurry.

What are you guilty of?

- Young Master, run! - Young Master!

Where can you run?

There's only three of you.

I'd advise you to just surrender.

Who let you to take the liberty to do that?

It isn't that I took the matter into my own hands.

It's all because you're blinded by friendship, Deputy Master.

All you see is a sickly Lie Ru Ge.

You didn't see the tricks she played to win your trust!

What do you mean by that?

She left the villa to meet Lei Jing Hong!

Even if she went to meet Lei Jing Hong

you didn't have to kill Die Yi.

I didn't kill Die Yi.

Lei Jing Hong did!

Tonight, someone set off the explosives on our turf.

They wanted to kill you while you were resting in the guest room

by setting off the bombs.

When they detonated the bombs

there was only one maid in the guest room.

It was Die Yi.

Luckily, you happened to be away.

Deputy Master...

Luckily, you got away.

What about the people of Miaohe Town?

None of them managed to get away!

Lei Jing Hong brought many explosives with him to wipe out Miaohe Town.

Lei Jing Hong used that to taunt all the pugilists!

This is Lei Jing Hong's...

revenge on Flame Villa.

That's what really happened tonight.

Deputy Master, please remember... every word I just said.

Deputy Master!

Deputy Master!

Deputy Master, may I ask where Die Yi is right now?

Die Yi is here in Maple Quarters.

She must have talked back to Deputy Master and was locked up.

She wasn't in the guest room, was she?

Deputy Master...

Die Yi wasn't in the guest room, was she?

About two hours ago...

The guest room was destroyed by explosives.

A maid was killed.

When Deputy Master and I inspected the room

we discovered that it was Miss Die Yi of Plum Quarters.

How could it be Die Yi?

I fought with the culprit.

It was Lei Jing Hong of Thunderclap Sect.

That's impossible!

It couldn't possibly be Lei Jing Hong!

It's impossible for Lei Jing Hong to show up here.

Yi Lang...

Was it you?

How dare you!

A mere cook from Plum Quarters dares to talk to me like this?

Zhongli Wulei...

You're no match for me!

Zhan Feng!

Tell me the truth!

Zhan Feng, tell me the truth!

Die Yi was just going to pick up the medication!

She was picking up the medication for Madam!

Why did she have to die?

Why did you have to kill her?

She's just a maid in Plum Quarters...

Who can she possibly hinder?

That's enough!

It will rain soon.

Zhongli Wu Lei, if I were you...

I'd go gather Die Yi's remains now.

Die Yi...

Die Yi!

Die Yi!

Die Yi!

Die Yi!

Die Yi!

Die Yi...

- Madam! - Madam!

Open the gates quickly!

- Madam. - What happened?

Why are the gates shut?

It's the guest room. It was destroyed by Lei Jing Hong's explosives.

Who?

It's Lei Jing Hong. The one who killed Master Lie.

- Young Mistress. - Xun Yi.

You're dismissed.

You're dismissed!

Yes!

Xun Yi...

Xun Yi!

What are they doing here?

Why did they say that Lei Jing Hong blew up the guest room?

I don't know.

I've been trapped here. Zhan Feng won't let me out.

Why are you here alone?

Where are Die Yi and Hall Master Zhongli?

Die Yi... She was called away by Deputy Master.

Hall Master Zhongli went to find her.

He hasn't returned yet.

It will be fine...

It will be just fine...

Security Officer Huang.

Stay here with Xun Yi.

- I'll take a look at the guest room. - Yes.

Young Mistress!

There's nothing left...

There's nothing...

Hall Master Zhongli...

Why are you sitting here, Hall Master Zhongli?

Where's Die Yi?

She...

She's...

Die Yi is gone.

That's impossible...

It can't be!

You're lying to me, aren't you?

You're lying to me!

I can't find her...

It's raining too heavily!

She's gone...

Die Yi is gone, just like that...

I can't find her...

Die Yi...

Die Yi is gone, just like that...

She's gone...

This is going too far!

Did you see him clearly?

It was Lei Jing Hong.

Madam.

Madam.

Why are you all drenched?

What are those servants in Plum Quarters doing?

Deputy Master is in such good spirits.

You're still discussing matters late into the night.

You just recovered.

You shouldn't--

Go get changed first.

Why did such a mishap befall Die Yi right after I left?

Why did you tell her to pick up the medication?

Why would she be in the guest room? Why was there a bomb in there?

She's just a maid.

Why did you have to kill her?

Madam, what are you saying?

Housekeeper Yi fought with the culprit.

It was Lei Jing Hong!

It wasn't!

You're lying.

Madam, why do you think that?

Unless you also met Lei Jing Hong?

He's right, little one.

Why do you say that Housekeeper Yi is lying?

You're totally drenched, where have you been?

Tomorrow...

I will meet with all the branch masters in the conference hall.

Including Head Housekeeper Yi.

As well as Deputy Master.

Young Mistress, are you really going to tell everyone

that you met up with Lei Jing Hong?

Yes.

Lei Jing Hong is the prime suspect for Master Lie's murder.

If you admit to meeting him under such circumstances

I'm afraid that everyone will lose faith in you.

If I don't tell the truth...

Die Yi would have died for nothing.

Not only will Lei Jing Hong be wrongfully accused

but the real murderer will also get off scot-free.

I didn't say it out loud just now because Lei Jing Hong hasn't fled far.

But tomorrow...

Once Lei Jing Hong is far from here...

it's time to reveal the truth.

This is the Qilin Bomb.

Did Young Master Lei give this to you?

Zhongli Wulei, are you a man?

You're here, playing some sad tune.

If you won't say a word, I'll tell Young Mistress

that you've abandoned me!

You're really giving me up?

You've been flirting with me all this time.

Do you dare to say that you don't have feelings for me?

If you do care about me, come home with me.

Who said that you have nowhere to go?

Come to our Plum Quarters.

Plum Quarters?

Lately, I've been thinking about cooking at Plum Quarters.

You can start the fire for me.

I'll cook.

You used to burn so many things in Azure Dragon Hall.

You must be better than anyone else at starting a fire.

What is it? You're not willing? You're not happy about it?

Young Mistress, this morning

Top Blade City and a few prestigious pugilist chiefs

arrived at the villa.

Yi Lang invited them over.

If you were to confront them in the hall, I'm afraid--

You're afraid that no one will speak up for me?

Yi Lang invited the elders over to put you off.

I have nothing to fear.

Why has Madam summoned us here?

We'll know soon.

Madam has arrived!

- Madam. - Greetings, Madam.

Please have a seat.

I wonder why we've been asked to come over.

Fret not.

Last night, between 11 p.m to 1 a.m.

there was an explosion in the east of Miaohe Town.

15 dead, 39 injured.

A guest room in Flame Villa also went up in an explosion.

Unfortunately, Madam's personal maid was killed.

12 disciples of Flame Villa were severely injured.

Amitabha, may Buddha be with them.

Who did that?

- Who did that? - How sad.

They were innocent people.

Head Housekeeper Yi, do you know who did it?

Two days ago, Lei Jing Hong arrived in Miaohe Town.

He has 18 disciples with him.

They brought a lot of explosives.

Last night, when Lei Jing Hong snuck an attack on Flame Villa

I got into a fight with him.

I'm a witness.

- It's Lei Jing Hong again? - It can't be?

He killed Master Lie too.

There's solid evidence, so it must be true.

Exactly.

Hall Master Yi.

You said that you got into a fight with Lei Jing Hong last night.

I reported this matter to you last night, Madam.

Have you forgotten?

I did ask you.

But I forgot to ask you for the details.

Are you certain that it was Lei Jing Hong you fought last night?

It was indeed Lei Jing Hong.

Last night, it was the Dark Moon, and there were no stars.

How can you be so sure?

There were the blazing flames.

It lit up the sky as if it were daytime.

I couldn't have made a mistake.

Besides, I also have concrete evidence.

Concrete evidence?

Who could it be?

- Who knows? - There's also solid evidence.

He said he has evidence.

Show it to us.

Anyone?

Bring Lei Jing Hong here.

- It's him. - That's unexpected.

Lei Jing Hong?

It really is Lei Jing Hong.

May Buddha be with us.

Young Master Lei, did you really set off the explosives last night?

Master Abbott.

How would such an evil man confess to his crimes?

But with such overwhelming evidence, he won't be able to escape this time.

He won't just deny what he did last night.

I bet this scoundrel wouldn't dare to admit that he killed Master Lie!

He who has a mind to beat his dog will easily find his stick.

Kill him!

- Yes! - Kill him!

- Avenge Master Lie! - Kill him!

Kill him!

- Avenge Master Lie! - Kill him!

- Kill him! - Kill him!

- Yes! - Avenge Master Lie!

Avenge Master Lie!

Bring it on!

Come and kill me!

Then the real murderer will be smirking in the dark.

None of you will ever know the truth!

It has already come to such.

How dare you still make excuses!

It wasn't him.

It wasn't Lei Jing Hong who set off the bombs.

When the bombs went off last night

I was with him.

What?

It can't be?

Exactly!

Release Lei Jing Hong.

I said, release him.

Young Mistress.

You mean to say...

You were with Lei Jing Hong the entire night?

Last night...

I asked Lei Jing Hong to explain how the Qilin Bomb works.

Are you remembering the time incorrectly?

- I remember it more clearly than you. - Is that so?

- Look. - Who is this maid?

We've never seen her before.

What are your usual chores here?

I'm Young Mistress's maid.

I usually attend to her.

Last night, did you attend to Young Mistress?

Yes.

What was Young Mistress doing?

Last night, Young Mistress stayed up all night.

She was gazing out the window blankly

and sighing from time to time.

The whole night?

Yes.

If Young Mistress doesn't go to bed, we wouldn't dare to sleep.

Why did Young Mistress stay up all night, gazing out blankly?

It's because...

It's because...

It's because Young Mistress was thinking about someone!

- Thinking about someone? - Who is it?

No idea.

Who was Young Mistress thinking about?

Exactly.

Young Master Lei.

Lei... Lei Jing Hong?

Young Master Lei? It was really him?

She was thinking about him?

Could they be...

Which Young Master Lei?

Lei Jing Hong, Young Master Lei.

Why would Young Mistress think about him?

It's because...

It's because...

Say it!

It's because Young Mistress said that she likes him.

Young Mistress often says that she would do anything for him

as long as Young Master Lei keeps her on his mind.

Yi Lang...
