[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 21]

Ge'er, do you know about these palace lanterns?

I do. They're called Flowing Fire.

This is a kind of magical spell.

Can you break it?

I can't.

Then why weren't you hurt by them when you came here?

That's right...

The Flowing Fire seems to steer itself out of my way.

I'll try it again.

Ge'er!

Senior Yu, the Flowing Fire seems to have surrounded the army.

It covers a range of ten miles.

I guess Huang Cong must be blocked and can't get in.

Why didn't you listen to me and insist on coming here?

If I hadn't come here, how would you have learned that was Flowing Fire?

It's a pity that we only know its name but don't know how to counter it.

Slowly.

Carefully.

Here, sit down.

Yes, thank you.

Drink a bit more.

How are you feeling?

I'm all right.

Give me some water.

Are you all right?

I'm all right.

My leg hurts so much!

Doctor...

Ge'er.

Were these soldiers wounded before you got here?

Some of them are commoners who were attacked by the Japanese.

How long can they survive without proper treatment?

For three days. In about three days

His Highness's supply of medicine will run out.

I'll bring the medicine over.

Inform Huang Cong to package the medicine and I'll bring them here.

- Yes. - No.

Senior Yu, are you worried that the medicine will get burnt?

Why don't I tie them to myself and bring one package at a time?

I said no.

You amateurs of the Pugilist World know nothing about the Flowing Fire.

You would even dare to hack at it with weapons?

Anye Jue?

These lanterns are lit by your witchcraft!

Get the Flowing Fire out of my way!

Or else.

Or else what?

Are you going to challenge me?

You are not fit to do so.

You are not to take a step out of the tent.

What if I insist on leaving?

All of my personal guards are posted right outside the tent.

Without my orders, they won't let you leave.

Senior Yu, just let me go.

No.

Young Mistress, His Highness gave his orders.

You are not to leave the camp without his permission.

Let me give the Flowing Fire a try.

We can't defy a military command.

My apologies.

Senior Yu, let me go and try to do something about this.

You're not this timid.

Just let me try.

Your safety being my concern is what makes me so timid and cowardly.

I can't afford to take any risk.

Don't bother wasting your strength.

You can't break the lock on your pressure points.

Yu Zi Han!

Your Highness.

We received this.

It's Anye Jue.

It's not the Japanese who have us trapped, but Anye Jue?

She said that Ru Ge disfigured her.

She wants me to hand her over in exchange for the army's safety.

Your Highness, you mustn't believe any of Anye Jue's words.

No one is to find out about what she asked for.

Especially Ru Ge.

Yes.

Ru Ge?

Mentor!

Mentor!

That must be my mentor.

Stop right there!

How dare you!

Who are you to trespass into Misty Peak?

It's you? I remember you.

I'm Youqin Hong. I'm Yin Xue's disciple.

I've come looking for my mentor.

Leave now! The chief is training in seclusion.

He's training in seclusion?

This means that my mentor really is here, isn't he?

Head back now.

Junior Master, I'm begging you.

Please let me in. Let me see my mentor.

If you still refuse to leave, I'll strike you!

You train under my mentor. I can't possibly strike you back.

If you insist on attacking me, do it.

You--

Let him in!

- Chief? - Chief?

Mentor.

Mentor, I've finally found you.

Where's Grand Mentor?

After Grand Mentor treated your injuries

he lost much of his vitality and went into seclusion.

Dark River Palace colluded with the Japanese to hurt our people.

I can't look on with folded arms.

Take me down the mountain.

Yes. Mentor.

Chief, you mustn't leave!

Grand Mentor said that you're not entirely healed!

Before 100 years have passed, you mustn't leave Ice Cliff!

Chief!

After I have left, none of you are to lead anyone up the mountain.

You will be the last of our lineage. You must act very cautiously.

Yes, Chief!

Mentor, where are we going?

The Eastern Sea.

What should we do?

That's right...

Your Highness, she means to hold the spell until we eventually die.

No, judging by Anye Jue's character

she would find more pleasure in killing us one by one.

She will show up here in a day or two.

Perfect!

When she gets here, we'll fight with her.

Xuan Huang.

When Anye Jue shows up, I'll hold her off.

You have to escort Ru Ge to safety.

- Your Highness-- - That is my order!

Yes!

Look! The lanterns are becoming dim.

Look! The lanterns are dim!

Yes! Look!

They really are dim!

They dimmed out!

- What's going on? - Let's go!

This is great! We're saved!

We can leave now!

This is wonderful!

We're saved!

The lanterns were put out.

Remember my order.

Yes!

Third Lady!

How have you been?

It's Yin Xue's hopeless disciple.

Who knew that he even passed on skills of Dark River Palace to you?

Not only did he teach me how to put out the Flowing Fire

but also how to use it.

That's impossible.

You sabotaged my plans today. I won't let you off next time!

Let's go!

Mentor, they're gone now.

Fortunately, it was Anye Jue.

If it were Anye Luo, I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to fool him.

Mentor!

This is great!

It's been so long. We can finally get out of here.

Mister Youqin?

Go over to him.

- Mister Youqin. - Quickly, prepare a tent for me.

This elder used up all his strength in dispelling the Flowing Fire.

Security Officer Huang is still halfway up the hill.

- Please come with me! - Sure.

- Search for Security Officer Huang! - Yes!

How did it go?

Did those people from Dark River Palace show up?

If they're still here, we can fight them.

No, there's no need for that. Anye Jue has left.

The Flowing Fire is gone.

She left? Why did she leave?

Do you remember Youqin Hong?

Did Youqin Hong save us?

He said that Yin Xue left him his last words

and he brought Yin Xue's mentor here from Misty Peak.

It was Yin Xue's mentor who saved us.

Are they still here?

That elder used up all his strength to save us.

We've set up a tent for them to get some rest.

Mister Youqin.

Mister Youqin?

Mister Youqin.

Young Mistress Lie.

I heard that you left Blossoms House so I was a bit worried.

Is Yin Xue's mentor in there?

Grand Mentor is elderly so he mustn't be out in the wind.

May I go in to greet him?

- I'm afraid this is... - Yin Xue saved my senior.

Therefore, I'd like to greet his mentor. Could you inform him of my visit?

Mister Youqin, please?

Please wait for a moment.

I'll ask him.

Grand Mentor, Young Mistress wishes to see you.

Young Mistress, please come in.

Sir.

I'm Lie Ru Ge, the daughter of Flame Villa's Master.

I'm also Prince Jingyuan's junior.

I thank you, Sir, for leaving the sacred mountain to save our lives.

Yin Xue and I met in Luoyang.

He walked right into Dark River Palace's schemes

in order to save my senior.

This time... you came here to save me and my senior.

Sir!

I'm sorry to have disturbed you. I'll take my leave now.

Ge'er, you've been absentminded all day.

What's bothering you?

Let's drink!

Here!

Drink!

Drink!

Bottoms up!

Is it all done?

We ran into a bit of trouble.

Didn't you say that you had absolute confidence?

The situation on a battlefield can change within a moment.

I didn't expect them to get any help.

How many make up their reinforcements?

One.

What? Just one person?

Warriors!

Hold up your swords!

We'll kill that prince who refused to marry our Supreme Princess!

Whoever brings me his head, I'll reward him with a battleship!

Yes!

Let's set out!

Charge!

Why aren't you leaving?

I don't wish to die for nothing.

They have a peerless pugilist there.

A peerless pugilist?

Only people of the Central Plains believe in some peerless pugilist.

That's all just a fairy tale.

These foreign barbarians make such impudent ravings.

Your Highness. Young Mistress.

Security Officer Huang, are you feeling better?

I feel much better, Young Mistress.

Tell me what happened when you were captured.

When I was imprisoned, I heard the Japanese speaking.

I believe that Dark River Palace colluded with the Japanese to kill us.

Xuan Huang.

Present.

Get the soldiers into battle formation and prepare for combat.

Combat?

Although the Flowing Fire was dispelled we've still been trapped here for days.

Our soldiers have let their guard down.

Our enemies likely have a surprise attack ready.

Yes!

Hurry up!

- Over here! - Quickly!

Faster!

Hurry up!

Mister Youqin.

Young Mistress.

We're now taking battle formation in case the Japanese sneak up on us.

I'm here to remind you both to stay alert during the night.

Grand Mentor is frail.

He's worried that he'll be a burden to you all if he stays any longer.

Should anything happen, he will also be in danger.

As the Flowing Fire has been broken, I'll leave with him shortly.

That's for the best.

Grand Mentor.

We should get going.

Come.

Where's Ge'er?

Young Mistress said that she was going to inform the elder

but she hasn't shown up since then.

Your Highness, be careful. I'll look for Young Mistress.

I can't see you off any further.

This is the Flame Seal. Keep it safe on you.

As long as you have this, no pugilist will dare to hurt you.

I can't accept Master Lie's seal.

You have to take it. The elder fell ill to save us.

It is my duty to ensure your safety.

Keep this safe and escort the elder back home.

Take it.

I take my leave.

Don't go back there.

Don't go back there.

Any words of advice from you, Sir?

Don't go back there.

You'll be in danger.

However dangerous it might be, I have to go.

Third Lady, are we really not going to help them?

We'll wait for the Japanese to die first.

Youqin Hong's become far more powerful. There must be something we don't know.

Inform Third Lady that the enemies have suffered great casualties.

All right, acknowledged.

Third Lady, our disciple just reported

that Prince Jingyuan's army has suffered great casualties.

Could Youqin Hong have left?

We'll wait for a while.

Your Highness, Young Mistress isn't here.

Nor are Youqin Hong and the elder.

Could the Japanese have already captured them?

Keep searching!

Yes!

Let's go!

Congratulations. You'll win very soon.

What's this? You finally appeared.

Don't let your guard down.

They won't let you win so easily.

He's Prince Jingyuan.

Is that so?

Leader!

Leader, we've been ambushed!

What?

Useless scum!

Warriors, get ready!

- Yes! - Hold on.

We'll show you just how Dark River Palace

makes every pugilist in the Central Plains shudder.

Ge'er!

- Senior Yu! - Ge'er!

Ru Ge!

Quickly! Run!

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress.

Your Highness, watch out!

Go!

It's snowing! Why is it snowing?

How can it be snowing?

This... How can it be snowing?

Yes... How can it be snowing?

Soldiers! The gods are on our side!

Let's drive the Japanese away!

Attack!

- What's going on? - What is happening?

Quickly! Retreat!

Retreat!

Quickly! Retreat!

Yin Xue... Are you still alive?

Retreat!

Yin Xue's disciple wields such great powers

that he can manipulate the Flowing Fire?

What nonsense.

It is too early to make such a conclusion.

We just need to give Zhan Feng some more time.

Then Flame Villa will be mine.

What about Yu Zi Han?

Let the Japanese deal with him. Stay out of it.

If I don't help them... the Japanese will surely lose.

They will surely be defeated.

All you have to do is to stall Yu Zi Han.

When the Japanese are about to lose, help them escape.

Yu Zi Han cannot return to the Imperial Court

until the Japanese are wholly defeated.

Nor can he assist Lie Ru Ge.

Yes.

Your Highness, there are still 34 Japanese soldiers left.

All others have been killed.

Good, interrogate them immediately.

Mark the location of their battleship on the map in details.

Yes!

You must also interrogate all pirates, merchants, and refugees

who colluded with the Japanese. Leave none of them out.

Yes!

- Castellan! - Castellan!

Brother-in-Law, I'll see you off here.

- Take care. - Take care.

Lei Jing Hong... Take care.

Castellan Dao, we'll also take our leave.

Oh? You're leaving so soon?

We've imposed on you for too long. We'll feel bad if we stay any longer.

Miss Phoenix can stay for as long as she wishes.

Castellan Dao is too kind.

Castellan Dao, I have important matters to handle so I won't stay any longer.

We have many years ahead of us. Until we meet again.

Until we meet again.

Let's go.

Young Master Feng.

Head back inside.

Speak.

During the seven days you've been away

all the elites of Azure Dragon Hall have been deployed back to the villa.

Master Lie told you to take Dao Lie Xiang back to her maiden home

and had Young Mistress Lie go to Young Master Yu at the coast.

He's using this chance to make arrangements.

More likely than not, he's targeting you.

You mustn't hesitate any longer.

I've served at Lie Ming Jing's side for so many years. I know him too well.

Once he discovers that you've colluded with Dark River Palace

he won't let you off.

Where is he now?

He's been in the training chamber lately.

Between 9 and 11 o'clock, I'll be waiting for you outside there.

Young Master Feng, you mustn't hesitate any longer.

I've served at Lie Ming Jing's side for so many years.

I know him too well.

Once he discovers that you've colluded with Dark River Palace

he won't let you off.

Mentor, how well do you think I'm wielding my blade, Destiny?

Good! You're wielding it well!

Zhan Feng is the cleverest child.

Mentor, why have you come to fetch me again?

Whenever you come home, I'll always be here to fetch you.

This is your home.

I am just like your father.

Zhan Feng, keeping you with him was the worst thing that man could have done

after he had killed your parents.

He won himself a reputation in loyalty for raising his godbrother's son.

So vicious. So calculating.

He deserves to be killed.

Is it you, Zhan Feng?

Yes.

Come in.

You said that you would return tomorrow.

So why have you returned today?
