[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 17]

- Lei Jing Hong? - It's me.

Why are you--

What are you doing here?

I'm asking you a question!

Why are you here?

What... what are you doing?

I find this annoying.

I heard that Thunderclap Sect offended the Imperial Court.

Instead of fleeing for your life, you even dare to come to Flame Villa?

What is it?

Are you scared I'll snatch you from the altar?

Snatch me from the altar?

The wedding is already over.

Why did you agree to this?

I'm doing this to find out who killed Young Master Xue.

You mean... you only agreed to the marriage

because Young Master Xue was killed?

Yes.

I don't want to see my brother make more mistakes.

Nor do I want to see the innocent get killed.

That's why I agreed to it.

I see.

So your brothers lied to me when I went to Top Blade City.

They told me that you had already agreed to the marriage.

You went to Top Blade City?

Yes, I did.

I wanted to tell you to not marry Zhan Feng.

Here, let's go take a look at the bride!

Let's go!

Dear bride!

Why is the door closed?

Open the door!

Open the door! Open it!

Dear bride, come out here!

Come out here quickly and let us have a look!

Open the door!

Come out here quickly and let us have a look!

Open the door!

We'll leave after we get a look at you!

Open the door, quickly!

Come out here!

Come on out!

- Gentlemen! - What are you doing?

Let's not barge into the nuptial room, all right?

So many unpleasant events took place today.

We'll just let the newlyweds get some rest.

That won't do! Teasing the newlyweds would bring more cheer!

Exactly!

Young Master Ji, don't hold us back!

Let us see the bride!

Gentlemen!

Please do me a favor then!

So much has happened today.

Senior Feng isn't here either.

Besides, you should all know about my new sister-in-law's temper.

If you provoke her and something goes wrong

I can't take the responsibility for it.

Since Young Master Ji puts it that way, we'll call it off!

Great! I'll drink with you all till morning then!

Great!

Go! Let's drink!

- Let's go! - Let's drink!

Let's go drink!

Let's go!

This way, please.

Who knew that I'd be spending my wedding night here with you?

Why don't we spend the night together?

You wish!

What is this doing here?

Don't you know that symbolizes a blessing to have a child soon?

I see.

What do you plan on doing?

I'll find my father first, then I'll come up with a plan.

Leave Flame Villa as soon as you can.

It isn't as safe as you think.

Why?

Do you need a lot of reasons?

Just leave when I tell you to!

Who can put up with this temper of yours?

You just said that you're going to avenge Young Master Xue.

But he was killed by Dark River Palace.

What's the use of marrying into Flame Villa?

I can't tell you.

After all, both my brothers are involved.

Your brothers had you sold!

You're still defending them?

We're siblings, after all.

How about this?

Tell me what it is and I'll settle it for you.

Someone like you...

You're hiding in my nuptial room, and yet you say that you're going to help me?

Let's see what else is here.

Take a look at this. It looks so odd.

What is it?

Come look!

It's really strange.

- What is it? - Look! It's really odd.

What are you doing?

Let go of me.

Lovely bride, you look really beautiful in your wedding gown.

You're always bullying me.

Let go of me.

What are you laughing at?

I know that you don't actually like Zhan Feng.

That's why I'm happy.

But... I still married him.

We even held the ceremony.

It's all right. I don't care.

It's your wedding night.

You shouldn't be here.

Are you scared of me?

Dao Lie Xiang is waiting for you.

You've become so timid.

Are you afraid you'll never be able to leave me again, if you come to my side?

There's no point in provoking me.

If you have something to say, just say it.

I have nothing to say.

Did you ever love Ying Yi?

If you had any feelings for her

you would've tried to save her.

But if you never loved her, why did you break off our engagement?

Was it all just for power?

You didn't do it for power either.

If it was all for power, my social status is much higher than Dao Lie Xiang's.

It would've made more sense to marry me.

What is it that you can't get from Flame Villa...

that you chose to turn to Top Blade City?

Could it be that...

You hate my father?

You hate my father, don't you?

That's why you started

to look at my father differently since two years ago, right?

I don't.

Why have you become like a devil then?

I'm not here to talk to you about this.

I just wanted to tell you something.

Go ahead. I'm all ears.

Give up your position as Madam of Flame Villa.

Instead of staying by your bride's side on your wedding night

you came here just to warn me to not vie with you over the villa.

Yes.

Does Flame Villa really mean so much to you?

Yes.

Bear what I told you in mind.

Looking at him closely, he's actually quite attractive.

Wake up! Wake up!

What's wrong?

Don't worry. No one came.

Zhan Feng won't come back here.

Just let me sleep in.

Why don't you seem like someone on the run?

I can always escape later.

What's there to be scared of?

All right now, this isn't where you should be staying.

I'll go look in the courtyard and order the maids about.

Then you can escape from the windows in the back.

Lie Xiang!

I'll be hiding in Yu Zi Han's quarters.

I'm only staying in Flame Villa for a few days.

I won't stay long.

Keep yourself alive.

I'm really leaving now.

Be careful.

Fine.

Xiao Yan.

- Young Mistress. - Madam.

Why are you still in your wedding gown, Young Mistress?

Summon all the servants in the quarters.

I want to meet all of them.

Yes.

Yan Niang, why would you...

Why would I do this to you?

It's because the evil and the righteous can never be on the same side.

I brought you into Thunderclap Sect so long ago.

Isn't it better than just being a maid in Dark River Palace?

I wasn't just a maid.

I'm the Third Lady of Dark River Palace, Anye Jue.

The Third Lady...

The woman I...

confided in and accompanied for half my life

is actually a witch.

Exactly.

You were wrong about me.

Fine.

Now that it has come to this, I can only resign to fate.

As you said...

the evil and the righteous can never be on the same side.

You and I... are no longer husband and wife.

Lei Hen Tian, this is where you impress me most.

You're already knocking on death's door

and yet you dare to speak to me that way.

Pugilists are never long-winded!

I didn't manage to see through your evil schemes

so I fell into your trap.

As such, I'm at your disposal.

We've been married for years.

I'll let you die with dignity.

Yan Niang, did you never--

I never did.

I never had any feelings for you.

I only came to Thunderclap Sect for your unique explosives.

The day Dark River Palace makes its comeback

is the day that righteousness in the Pugilist World will die.

You--

Thank you.

You didn't keep me in the dark like a fool!

Hold on!

Don't hurt my son.

My son, Jing Hong. Don't hurt him!

I'll spare his life.

After all... I did raise him.

Don't hurt my son!

Sink the ship.

How should we explain the shipwreck?

Our Master was killed by enemies.

I narrowly escaped.

Summon all the branch masters to the funeral for me.

Announce to the world that we're searching for Master's murderer.

- Yes! - Yes!

This really is a renowned facial product.

Young Mistress will surely like it.

Why isn't he here yet?

Hall Master Zhongli.

Look, he's here to see Die Yi again.

You're right.

Just make some small talk so they won't keep staring at you.

- He comes to visit Die Yi often. - Does he?

It would be great if they became a couple.

Exactly. Let's go.

What are these?

Just some little things I bought at the market.

Why did you get so many?

It smells quite nice.

Young Mistress hasn't had any good days lately.

She keeps getting paler and paler.

I bought these for her complexion.

Then I saw that these are quite fun, so I bought them all.

It seems that there's been endless trouble since last year.

Don't just keep staring at me.

I've finished investigating it.

Already?

Everything is laid out before my eyes

at Azure Dragon Hall.

There's nothing we can't find out.

Give it to me.

You'll have to be more cautious.

Why don't you... tidy my hair?

Be a bit more respectful!

Young Mistress.

Die Yi.

I have the information.

Here you go.

The most foolish way to seek revenge against someone

is to sacrifice your own life for it.

Especially for a man who doesn't love you.

Do you really think that you can change Zhan Feng's mind?

You've been with him for two years.

It's unlikely that you don't know his temper and disposition.

I'm leaving Flame Villa soon.

Your issue must be handled quickly.

If you want me to help you...

then tell me what really happened between you and Zhan Feng.

Ying Yi, you're not that foolish.

What makes you say that?

Just the fact that you set me up once

and rendered me speechless for something I didn't do.

It's enough to prove that you're no fool.

If you refuse to tell me the truth

no one will be able to save you once you leave these quarters.

You... will you really help me?

You were sold to Rouge House in Zhongkang by your parents

when you were five years old.

You started receiving customers when you turned 11 years old.

You were often beaten and whipped by the pimps for fun.

You nearly died in four such incidents.

But when you turned 15...

you suddenly became skilled in martial arts.

All of Rouge House's assets were then transferred to your name.

The pimps who once mistreated you took their lives that same night.

You...

Can you tell me who the woman with the black veil is...

the one who appeared at Rouge House when you turned 15?

The Second Madam of Thunderclap Sect, Yan Niang.

I'm afraid you came to Flame Villa, just as she meticulously planned.

What was your true motive for getting close to Zhan Feng?

What's the point in telling you?

Even if I tell you, and you don't kill me

they still won't let me off.

Do you want to start anew?

Are you joking?

You want to help me?

If you don't want to die... you can choose to trust me.

Young Mistress!

What's wrong?

The other maids just said

that Young Master Feng took his men to Bamboo Quarters.

- What for? - I don't know.

Could he have found out that Lei Jing Hong is there

so he went to capture him?

Young Master Feng, please halt.

Step aside.

It's a Flame Villa rule that no one may trespass at Bamboo Quarters.

Your Highness, Young Master Feng is here.

Senior Feng.

- Your Highness. - Your Highness.

Where's Ying Yi?

How is Ying Yi doing?

Your Highness, she's still drowsy.

But she did wake up once this morning.

She was too heavily injured, so she's still sleeping now.

What are your conditions?

How did you delude Zhan Feng?

Since you've saved her, hand her over to me.

Ru Ge brought her here.

So I have to ask her first.

She's mine and this is my problem.

Why interfere with it?

I'll leave it to Ru Ge to decide.

I said, I want to see her.

No.

Yan Niang is the Third Lady of Dark River Palace.

Anye Jue.

The Third Lady?

As for Zhan Feng, have you heard the rumor?

About how Zhan Feng's father, Zhan Fei Tian died.

Uncle Zhan killed himself.

After Zhan Feng's mother gave birth to him

she also killed herself for love.

Do you believe that?

That's such a ridiculous tale.

Back then, Flame Villa was at the prime of its influence.

Both Zhan Fei Tian and Lie Ming Jing were masters of Flame Villa.

They led the Pugilist Alliance.

Why would Zhan Fei Tian commit suicide so suddenly?

Why? Have you thought about that?

There must be a reason for it.

Haven't you ever suspected your father?

That's enough.

Aren't you the one who told me to tell you everything?

Why are you telling me to shut up now?

Haven't you ever thought that your father could have

killed Zhan Fei Tian and his wife to take over Flame Villa?

My father raised Zhan Feng.

If he really did as you said, why didn't he kill Zhan Feng?

Because he feels guilty.

He wants to make up for his sins.

Was this how you deluded Zhan Feng?

Yes.

He believed you?

He had no choice but to believe me.

He actually believed such nonsense.

It's because there's no other justified reason that can explain

why his father killed himself at the prime of his career.

His mother had just given birth to him.

Yet she also left him behind and killed herself for love.

Can you explain that, Lie Ru Ge?

I trust my father.

No one in the Pugilist World dares to question the matter

because your father has full control over Flame Villa.

However, everyone knows that it couldn't have been so simple.

You're the only one in the world who believes in your father.

That's why Zhan Feng refused to marry you.

That's the reason.

My father treats Zhan Feng like he's his son.

But...

Your father still handed Flame Villa over to you.

You're his flesh and blood.

By doing so, he has proved all the more that he killed Zhan Fei Tian and his wife

to take Flame Villa over, for himself.

It can't be.

That can't be it.

You don't have any evidence.

Nor do you have the right to make such accusations.

Indeed, no one has the evidence to prove it.

Young Mistress!

Young Master Feng has come for her!

He's about to face off with Young Master Yu! Young Mistress!

They mustn't get in!

Ying Yi isn't the only one in Bamboo Quarters.

Don't worry. I'll arrange for you to leave.

You're really willing to let me go?

Young Mistress!

Come in, Die Yi.

Young Mistress! Hurry up! There's no time to lose!

They're blocking the entrance!

Help her get dressed.

Yes.

Senior Feng, please head back.

Unless I get to take her with me

I'm not going anywhere.

I've also promised Ru Ge that no one is allowed to disturb them.

Senior Feng!

Senior Yu!

Senior Feng! Senior Yu!

Calm down!

How would Mentor react if he learns of this conflict?

It will cause panic in the villa.

Senior Feng, I know that you're worried about Ying Yi's safety

so you wish to go see her.

If we speak to Senior Yu nicely, I'm sure that he'll agree.

Why make such a scene?

I'm not at all worried.

It's just that my woman shouldn't be in his Bamboo Quarters.

Not just anyone can enter Bamboo Quarters.

Senior Yu, Bamboo Quarters is just like the Royal Jingyuan Manor.

We all know that.

No one would dare trespass.

Don't take it to heart.

Senior Feng has his reasons for being so anxious.

How about this?

I'll go ask Young Mistress.

After all, she brought Ying Yi here.

Don't bother.

Senior Yu, Ying Yi still wishes to go back to him.

We shouldn't keep annoying them.

Die Yi, bring Ying Yi over to Senior Feng.

Can you walk?

Senior Yu.

I'd like to ask you for a favor.

Sure.

Young Master Feng.

You actually brought her back here.

She'll be in the guest room tonight.

You won't see her after tomorrow.

That better be the case.

This is Flame Villa.

Since you've married into Maple Quarters

no one will dare to hurt you.

I don't trust anything but my own blade.

Luckily, he wasn't after Lei Jing Hong.

Tomorrow morning, I'll have my men escort you out of the villa.

Young Master.

Young Master!

After we part ways tomorrow...

We might never meet again in this lifetime.

We were never meant to be.

Never do we have to meet again.

I'm sorry.

Yan Niang is actually Anye Jue?

Then the Ice Jade Cup and the attack on the royal manor make sense.

But why would she heal my hearing?

I can't figure that out either.

Senior Yu, can you help me sneak Ying Yi out safely?

She serves Dark River Palace.

Perhaps it will be more useful to keep her with us.

She's but a tiny pawn that Dark River Palace uses.

It's useless to keep her.

Besides, I promised her that as long as she tells me the truth

I'll let her go free.

A honorable person's promise...

is as good as a thousand taels.

All right, leave it to me.

Thank you, Senior Yu.

Both Zhan Fei Tian and Lie Ming Jing were masters of Flame Villa.

They led the Pugilist Alliance.

Why would he suddenly kill himself?

Why? Have you thought about that?

Haven't you ever suspected your father?

Haven't you ever suspected that

your father could have killed

Zhan Fei Tian and his wife to take over Flame Villa?

Die Yi, why has Young Mistress been so distracted

since she returned from Bamboo Quarters?

Xun Yi, Die Yi.

You should go to bed.

Yes.

Let's go.

- Fire! - Fire!

Fire!

Is anyone there?

- Fire! - Fire!

Young Mistress!

It's Maple Quarters!

I know.

Go to bed.

Sure!

Between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

I'll have someone set fire to your room, leaving behind a letter.

It will state that you chose to kill yourself

for having failed to accomplish your task.

I'll arrange for someone to take you away from the villa.

From now on, Ying Yi will no longer exist in the Pugilist World.

I hope you'll behave from now on.

Don't go down the wrong path again.

Young Mistress has prepared a carriage to take you away.

Can you still walk?

I can.

Come.

- Take this young lady to Lai Province. - Yes.

Keep these taels safe.

No, take me to Tai Province.

Just drop me off at Tai Province.

I'm on my own now.

You've made other arrangements?

You needn't suspect me, Security Officer Huang.

Since I've betrayed Dark River Palace, I'd never go back to them.

It's just...

I can't trust anyone anymore.

As for where I may go in the future, only I can know about it.

Take this young lady wherever she wishes to go.

Sure!

Search carefully.

I found it!

Young Master Feng, do you think--

Bury that outside the villa.

Yes.

Senior Feng!

Ying Yi's dead?

Yes.

Yet another embarrassment.

Senior Feng, do you remember what Mentor said at your wedding?

You're mean about inheriting Flame Villa?

Exactly.

A couple of Hall Masters are present today.

I think that Mentor is going to have finalize the matter.

Whatever happens, I'll support you.

Hall Master Ling also said that he'd support you.

Although we all adore Ru Ge

inheriting Flame Villa is no child's play.

Thank you.

Don't mention it. We're brothers.

Head in.
