[The Flame's Daughter]

[Episode 15]

Yin Xue, you should be grateful to me.

The only way she'd never forget you is... death.

Yin Xue!

Yin Xue!

Yin Xue.

Yin Xue!

What's wrong?

What happened to you, Yin Xue?

What's wrong?

I... I'm leaving.

You...

You're joking, right?

What can I do to save you?

Who can save you? Tell me.

Who can save you?

You knew that this was going to happen, didn't you?

Why did you lie to me?

Why didn't you tell me the truth?

I hate it when you lie to me!

Ge'er, I...

Let's leave this place, all right?

Someone can save you once we get out of here.

Let's leave this place, okay?

Hold me in your arms.

Hold me tight.

Yin Xue...

All men die within a hundred years.

I defied the law of nature.

But I can't go against the gods.

Don't forget me.

Ge'er...

Mentor!

Mentor!

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress!

Young Mistress?

He's gone...

I could only watch as he disappeared...

Your Highness.

Where's Ge'er?

Young Mistress is in her room.

Send a visiting card to King of Snowy Robe.

When I'm better

I must thank him in person for saving my life.

What happened?

King of Snowy Robe is...

He passed away.

I've never seen Young Mistress in such a state.

We can only wait until His Highness awakes.

King of Snowy Robe...

passed away?

Yes.

Where's his corpse?

Your Majesty, his body vanished.

It's turned into snow and melted.

Set up a monument for him...

next to the Imperial Mausoleum.

Perform an elaborate funeral.

Yes.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Security Officer Xuan, you've brought soldiers to my manor.

What is the matter?

Something urgent came up.

Please forgive me for disregarding superiority.

Many apologies.

You have served my seventh brother for years.

You have a great sense of propriety.

I trust that you have a reason for bringing soldiers to my manor.

Speak. What would you like me to assist you with?

Last night, a hundred assassins ambushed Royal Jingyuan Manor.

They attacked Royal Jingyuan Manor?

Who would dare to?

Thunderclap Sect's Second Madam led the attack.

Yan Niang?

Young Master Xue...

I'll have another cup of your favorite Blossoms Wine.

Madam.

This is the account book you asked for.

Phoenix...

Let's chat.

Look at everyone here.

They all left, one by one.

Even Young Master Xue is gone.

The dead can't be revived.

My condolences, Madam.

You sure are cold-hearted.

Everyone dies.

Some day, it will be you and me.

What is there to grieve?

Is there anyone you care about?

No.

Isn't there something you care about?

No.

Among all the courtesans, you're not as close to me as the others.

I really can't figure out why you came to Blossoms House.

Blossoms House is the best brothel in the capital.

It can give me the best customers, jewelry, clothes, and maids.

That's all I wanted.

If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave.

Go on.

Gentlemen, what brings you here?

Apologies, Madam Blossom.

Thunderclap Sect ambushed Royal Jingyuan Manor

and wounded Prince Jingyang.

The royal manor has given orders to seal off all exits out of the capital

to search for the disciples of Thunderclap Sect.

Sure, you can search the premises.

But be sure to not be rough.

Blossoms House is in mourning.

The deceased always come first.

Condolences, Madam.

- Look carefully! - Yes!

Come with me to look over there.

- Yes! - Yes!

Have you decided to starve to death instead of getting married?

Young Master Xue...

He's dead.

If you dare to lie to me--

It's true.

Third Young Mistress, I did serve in Blossoms House after all.

Although I wasn't there for too long

I couldn't have buried my family properly without the help of Blossoms House.

Nor could I have come to Top Blade City.

Young Master Xue and I might not have interacted much...

but I'm indebted to his kindness.

I learned of this matter while I was eavesdropping.

Your Highness.

Young Master Yu.

How has Ge'er been these days?

She hasn't eaten or slept in days.

Security Officer Huang and I hoped

that you could talk to her when you're up.

But she stayed up crying all night again.

We didn't have much of a choice

but to have Security Officer Huang use acupuncture on her.

She just fell asleep an hour ago.

Let her sleep.

I'll come over when she wakes up.

Yes.

Who are you?

Do you know where this is?

The Royal Jingyuan Manor.

I'm Ru Ge's friend. I wish to see her.

I know that she's here.

Do you think that you can just visit as you please?

Get out! Go!

You--

Who threw the explosive in?

Have you heard of Dark River Palace?

I heard of it once.

Your Frost Curse was cast by their Supreme Master.

It's a trap he laid out for me.

Could you elaborate?

Undoing the curse would drain most of my power.

They're waiting.

They're waiting for me to break the curse for you.

Once my powers are drained, they'll have me killed.

Your Highness.

Your Highness, you must take good care of your health.

He has saved my life twice.

Now, he has even sacrificed his life for me.

- How could I-- - Your Highness.

Now that it has come to this

it's all the more reason to take care of yourself.

Otherwise, wouldn't Young Master Xue's sacrifice be in vain?

Your Highness.

Lei Jing Hong of Thunderclap Sect has come to see Young Mistress.

We've been looking everywhere for them, and yet he dares to show up here?

- Bring him to me. - Yes.

Bring him here!

Lei Jing Hong, you have some nerve!

I didn't come here to deliver myself into your hands.

I'm here in hopes that you'll spare me.

You want us to spare you?

Did Thunderclap Sect show us any mercy?

I have nothing to do with the assassination.

I also believe that my father wasn't involved.

You--

You're all dismissed.

No one is to know that he's here.

- Yes. - Yes.

You're wounded. Who hurt you?

It was my own people.

There are traitors in your sect?

Yes, I've sent someone to look for Die Yi, she knows of this.

She can vouch for me.

Ask Die Yi to come here.

- Yes. - Yes.

Your Highness.

Young Master Yu.

Die Yi, did you meet with Young Master Lie?

Young Master, I did.

I went to see him the day Young Mistress returned to the manor.

He was badly injured then and hiding in Miss Phoenix's room in Blossoms House.

He even reminded me to warn Young Mistress

to be wary of Thunderclap Sect's Second Madam, Yan Niang.

Did you tell Ge'er?

She said that she'd visit him after you had been treated.

I got it. You're dismissed.

Yes.

Your Highness, I can swear on my life

that my father would never attempt to assassinate you.

He isn't that foolish!

Who's behind the assassination attempt then?

My guess is Yan Niang.

She's the only one in Thunderclap Sect with the authority

to deploy our disciples to attack the royal manor.

I'll let you stay in my manor to keep you safe for now.

You believe me then?

Not entirely.

But you're Ru Ge's friend.

Keeping you safe is what I can do for her.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Yes.

Young Master Lei.

Your Highness, you mustn't believe Lei Jing Hong's every word.

I know.

That's just his side of the story.

No one can prove if it's true.

I think it's just a ruse to win us over.

Your Highness, don't let--

We'll spare him for now.

Yes.

Yin Xue...

Yin Xue...

Yin Xue...

Yin Xue...

You're up?

Senior Yu.

Thank goodness you're willing to speak to me.

Why are you crying?

Nightmares...

So much has happened lately, it's been too hectic.

I almost forgot that it's still around the lunar new year.

How come you haven't asked me if my head hurts after sleeping for three days?

Does your head hurt?

It did in the beginning, but not anymore.

Would you like to return to Flame Villa?

Where is the clothing?

What?

Where is the clothing?

Die Yi!

Where is the clothing? Die Yi!

- Die Yi! - Young Mistress, you're awake!

Die Yi, where is it? Young Master Xue's clothing.

His clothing...

I was worried you'd get upset if you saw it, so I put it away.

As long as it's still here.

I got such a fright.

Young Mistress, why aren't you wearing any shoes?

It's so cold out here.

Let's go inside.

Can you tell me what happened that day?

Young Master Xue held a prestigious title.

My father is bound to ask me about it.

That day...

After Yin Xue lifted your curse, he gave you acupuncture.

I handed you over to the guards at the royal manor.

I was worried about his safety...

so I headed back to the hut.

That's when I ran into Yan Niang.

Yin Xue's powers were greatly weakened.

He was no match for Yan Niang.

Yin Xue, are you all right?

I fended Yan Niang off with my Flame Fist.

Then I took Yin Xue and fled from the hut.

What happened next?

After we escaped from the hut...

Yin Xue was suddenly captured.

Yin Xue!

When I found him again...

He had already died from severe injuries.

Hence, Young Master Xue ascended to heaven and became a deity.

All that's left of him is his snowy robe.

Ge'er, think about it again.

What else was suspicious about Yan Niang?

I think that she's related to Dark River Palace.

Why do you say that?

I didn't understand a word she was saying to Yin Xue.

They even mentioned Anye Luo.

And...

Her female senior.

Young Master Xue told me that

the curse on the Ice Jade Cup was meant to be a deathtrap.

Yan Niang appeared at just the right time.

I'm afraid that she must be closely related to their Supreme Master.

I have to meet His Majesty in the palace now.

Lei Jing Hong is in the manor.

If you wish to see him, tell Huang Cong to bring him to you.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Congratulations, Prince Jingyuan.

His pulse is now stable, and his liver is warm.

He just needs some nourishment to pull through this winter safely.

That's good.

All right, you're dismissed.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Zi Han, I meant to ask you.

I just heard that the King of Snowy Robe passed away.

But what exactly...

After he saved my life, his powers weakened immensely.

That night, his enemy took advantage of his fragility to ambush him.

He died from his injuries.

- Your Highness. - Your Highness.

I just saw the imperial physician leaving the palace.

I heard that you're feeling much better now.

Yes.

- Zi Han, I-- - Second Brother.

You don't have to feel bad about it.

Matters in the Pugilist World can be misleading at times.

Before it's thoroughly investigated

we can't say for sure that Thunderclap Sect was behind it.

It's good that you understand.

Zi Han, your health has improved.

It must be because you're to be wed soon.

I wonder when Father will decree that a wedding banquet be held for you?

Third Brother, you seem to be very concerned about my marriage.

The princess consort you've picked has the authority

to command the Pugilist Alliance.

Of course I have to be concerned.

King of Snowy Robe's murder is yet to be solved.

I don't wish to get married at such a time.

You're right.

Why are you taking down all the plaques?

Young Mistress, Blossoms House is closed.

Blossoms House is shutting down?

Yes, Young Mistress.

Has everyone already left?

Almost, except for Madam Blossom.

What about Youqin Hong?

Mister Youqin disappeared

after Young Master Xue passed away.

If you have any more questions, it's best to ask Madam Blossom.

Servants like us don't know much.

Tonight, I'm going to choose...

Her.

You've returned?

I'm heading to Young Master Xue's room.

Come with me.

Back then, this place wasn't Blossoms House yet.

Just like you, I saw a sign about hiring maids posted here...

so I came here to try my luck.

How old are you?

I'm 19 years old.

Are you married?

Yes, my husband died from illness soon after we were married.

Why would you want to work in a brothel?

Even if I don't come here...

it's only a matter of time before I get bullied.

If I handed a brothel over to you, would you dare to run it?

Youqin Hong is just as miserable.

He was framed by his own people and missed the chance

to take the imperial official's exam.

In a fit of rage, he chased that man into Blossoms House to kill him.

- That was the night... - Come out here!

- he met Young Master Xue. - Come out here!

You despicable and shameless man!

Why?

Why did you--

This is a brothel.

It's not the Pugilist World.

Why draw your sword for every little thing?

Young man, listen.

You don't have to kill the man you hate.

You have to defeat him.

Make him kneel before you and surrender to you some day.

That's the greatest revenge.

We all knew that this was just a place in Luoyang

where Young Master Xue would stop by.

He appeared to covet wealth and fame.

But he didn't actually like the liveliness in Luoyang.

That's why he was always traveling.

Young Master Xue used to say that he was an old man.

He should've been long gone from the mortal world.

He only stayed behind to wander the mortal realm...

because he was waiting for someone.

Each life only lasts a few decades.

Ru Ge, move on.

You have to go on with your life.

A lifetime goes by in the blink of an eye.

Don't keep thinking of the dead.

It will only make those around you worry.

Young Master Xue was carefree and nonchalant.

The woman he loved must also be someone who can let go and move on.

Before, I found it hard to let go.

Now, I can't move on.

Madam Blossom, don't worry.

I won't stay so depressed for long.

Whether it's him or Xiao Feng, I'll find the culprit who harmed them.

Ge'er.

You're finally smiling.

It's because I've made up my mind.

From now on, I won't let anyone close to me get hurt again.

I have to pull myself together.

Ge'er, there's a letter from Flame Villa.

Is it good news or bad news?

Zhan Feng is getting married in seven days.

So soon?

You knew about this?

When did you find out about it?

When Yin Xue and I were away from the royal manor

we ran into Flame Villa's disciples on the road.

They were delivering heaps of engagement gifts to Top Blade City.

Mentor has asked that we both return to the villa soon.

Senior Yu.

What kind of wedding gift should I give them?

You don't have to act strong in front of me.

Are you worried about me?

I am.

Would it be strange if I said that I'm eager to rush home for the wedding?

Why are you smiling? It's a serious matter.

I'm happy to see that you're so calm about it.

I'll have the wedding gifts prepared.

We'll set out soon.

Your Highness, Miss Phoenix from Blossoms House

has asked to see Young Mistress.

Miss Phoenix?

Greetings, Your Highness.

Greetings, Young Mistress Lie.

What brings you to see me, Miss Phoenix?

A friend of yours owes me his life.

I'm here to get what he owes me.

Lei Jing Hong?

Phoenix, this is all the money I have on me right now.

Come to me again when I get back on my feet.

I'll be sure to repay your kindness.

Why... why do you insist on staying with me?

Blossoms House has closed down.

If I don't stay with you, I'll have nowhere to go.

You can take your savings and marry a good man.

Have you forgotten what you promised me?

Someone is hunting me right now.

I can't even protect myself.

There's nothing to gain in staying with me.

Things might change.

You might do even better in the future.

You're a phoenix, not some common bird.

You should choose a good tree to perch on, not a rotten one like me.

Don't worry.

I won't go through thick and thin with you.

I just believe that you'll become a good tree in the future.

I can't stay in Blossoms House forever.

It's been years, but I haven't found anyone trustworthy.

I might as well place my bet on you.

Who knows? I might get to be a lady of high standing someday.

Young Master Lei, we can head out now.

All right.

Come along then.

- Xiao Yan! - Young Mistress.

Open the door.

I can't, Young Mistress.

I can't.

I don't dare to.

The groom's procession will be here tomorrow.

Young Mistress, do think it over.

If you don't dare to open the door, bring my eldest brother here.

Tell him

that I've thought it through.

Yes.

Lie Xiang, you really agreed to it?

You mustn't lie to me.

Wu Xia, you were right.

I was born into Top Blade City.

It's only right that I get married for the interests of Top Blade City.

Don't you worry.

Once Flame Villa is vanquished, you can divorce Zhan Feng.

Then, you'll be the Young Mistress of the most powerful pugilist family.

No one would dare to utter a word if you get married again, in grandeur.

Foolish girl! Why are you putting riding boots on her?

Have you ever seen a bride wearing riding boots?

I got muddled up.

I'll get the wedding gown and boots.

Hurry up.

Hold on!

Bring the Royal Facial Mask along.

Lie Xiang likes it. Bring a lot.

Yes.
