[The Wolf]

[Episode 16]

I indeed admire her a lot.

But it's not in an improper way like what you are thinking.

I've roamed the world for years.

I've seen a lot of women.

But only Young Mistress was able to gain my respect and admiration.

When I first saw her,

she was a rich family's daughter wearing luxurious clothes.

Facing a group of well-trained soldiers,

she was calm and collected when she commanded them.

She has the spirit and strategy that don't lose to men.

When I met her again,

she didn't have any prejudice

against an adventurer like me.

She made friends with me instead.

And in this journey,

you pretended to ignore all the

sincere caring efforts she showed you.

But I'm the one who felt the pain.

I'm not interested in the story of how you and Ma Zhaixing cherish each other.

Since Your Highness knows that she is my friend,

I will surely protect her well.

Farewell.

Why do I always end up picking you up when you cry for Prince of Bo?

I thought I wouldn't cry.

I chose to leave him on my own.

But...

It hurts.

I've never heard of anyone dying from heartaches.

When it ends, you will forget about Prince of Bo.

This is not a red string.

This is a chain.

Now that the chain is broken

and you are willing to leave Prince of Bo.

Why don't you learn from me

and live a free life without worries?

Forget about the marriage agreement and imperial responsibility.

Just leave it all behind.

Even if you've broken the chains,

Prince of Bo still exists.

His Majesty's marriage agreement is still present.

The Court and Ma Army are all still here.

One day, I will still have to return.

From here to Kuizhou, no matter where you go,

it will still take you three days.

I know there are a few inns in front.

Let's stay there to rest before the sun sets.

Don't turn back.

Raise your head, move forward.

You are the courageous Ma Zhaixing.

Hurry up!

It's getting dark soon!

Coming.

Master, the scouts in front reported that there is nothing unusual in Fuhu Forest.

Alright.

I will go and meet Princess Bao Na immediately.

Mo Xiao, listen to my order.

Bring everyone to Nanliao Tower to welcome the Fourth Prince.

I will meet up with you later.

Yes, Master.

Ji Chong, are you awake?

Ji Chong!

Where is Ji Chong?

This guy...

Where did he run off to early in the morning?

Did he seek Prince of Bo for revenge without telling me?

Move out! Head towards Fuhu Forest!

The prey has fallen into the trap.

This is a fine day to kill all of you.

Ji Chong!

This guy really disappeared.

Sister Zhaixing!

Bao Na?

Sister Zhaixing, it's been a long time.

Why are you here?

I reached Nanliao Tower early.

I was so bored so I came out to find you.

Surprisingly, I met you here.

Why did it seem like you've seen a ghost when you saw me?

Princess, did you ask someone to send a letter to Prince of Bo

and change the meeting place to Fuhu Forest?

But the warrior who delivered the letter had your seal.

And the words in the letter were your handwriting indeed.

Impossible!

I just sent my confidants with my seal to Fuhu Forest days ago.

Why would it appear here?

The seal is not a fake.

The handwriting is genuine, too.

This is bad!

Someone pretended to be you

and asked Prince of Bo to meet alone in Fuhu Forest.

Setting a trap to get Prince of Bo to be alone.

The culprit must have bad intentions.

He is in danger!

Princess, I think Prince of Bo will meet you without bringing many men.

Please send your confidants to Nanliao Tower

and get the Bo Troop to rescue him.

Did you hear that?

Quickly send a message and head to Fuhu Forest!

Yes, Princess.

Leave your bow and arrow!

Prince of Bo, this way please.

Greetings, Prince of Bo.

Where is the Princess?

The Princess is on her way.

She sent me to prepare some dishes to welcome Your Highness.

This way, Your Highness.

Zhaixing!

Where did she go?

Met Bao Na. Prince of Bo is in danger in Fuhu Forest.

Quickly come to help us!

Bao Na?

This is bad.

Sister Zhaixing, this is Fuhu Forest.

Sister Zhaixing.

Don't be afraid.

They are the warriors who were guarding Fuhu Forest

and the confidants I sent.

Why are they all dead with their clothes taken?

Looks like the enemy knew of your movements and used this chance

to steal the seal and kill everyone.

Let's go.

We are still a step late.

Prince of Bo is already here.

It is too late to inform Prince of Bo now.

He might be harmed even before rescue arrives.

Let's distract the enemy's attention.

Follow me.

Master.

Master!

Master! Quickly run!

How is it?

It's done.

Let's go.

Master!

Master!

We caught Prince of Bo, that filthy animal!

Bao Na!

Help me out later.

Don't scream.

Who is it?

We are under attack!

Bao Na, are you alright?

I'm fine.

Surround them!

Kill Prince of Bo and the two girls!

Surround them! Don't let them escape!

Go!

Let's go.

Stand there!

Give chase!

Wen Yan!

Ma Zhaixing!

Ji Chong?

I saw the note.

Why did you come back and save this heartless man?

Do you still value your life?

They are right behind us. We should escape first.

Move!

Ji Chong! Be careful!

- Zhaixing! - Master!

Ma Zhaixing!

Zhaixing.

Quickly take her away.

I will handle the pursuers.

Go!

Zhaixing is more important!

Give chase!

Bao Na, meet up with Mo Xiao.

Wen Yan, follow me back to camp!

You are trying to stop us alone?

I want to fight with you,

but I'm afraid you don't dare to fight me.

It's been a long time.

Quickly kneel!

Greetings, Young Marshal!

Greetings, Young Marshal!

Stand up.

I'm no longer the Young Marshal and a Jin citizen anymore.

Stand up.

No. You will forever be our Marshal.

All of us even thought of attacking you earlier.

I don't dare to stand.

If you like to kneel, so be it.

But you can stop chasing.

The plan to assassinate Prince of Bo has failed.

If you chase him further, you will only endanger your lives.

So you were the one who contacted me.

No wonder I find the voice familiar.

Cheng Liang, follow me.

Yes, Young Marshal.

Let me ask you.

The case of the annihilation of General Ma Ying and his family at Kuizhou,

was it Jin who did it?

Who from Jin did it?

Young Marshal, why are you concerned about this?

What happened to the world no longer concerns me.

It is none of my business.

But now it is important to the person I care about.

I don't know the details.

It was most probably done by Jin.

Investigate it.

I will find you again when I get the chance.

Young Marshal, you have to be careful.

Even if Prince of Bo doesn't suspect you,

I'm worried that they will harm you and put you in danger if you are discovered.

He won't get anything by exposing my identity.

If the situation changes, I will act accordingly.

Young Marshal, are you truly not returning to Jin anymore?

Jin is no longer my home.

Furthermore, I have someone I care about now.

See you again.

Farewell, Young Marshal.

Farewell, Young Marshal!

The Princess is under treatment. No one may enter.

Zhaixing was shot because of me.

I have the right to know if she is safe!

Master, the wound is too deep.

It is in a dangerous position, too.

I'm afraid the bleeding won't stop even if we pull the arrow out,

due to the deep wound.

Her life is very critical at the moment.

What nonsense are you talking about?

Ma Zhaixing cannot die!

If you are not confident, call another physician here!

She will die no matter if we pull the arrow or not.

What should we do?

Wen Yan,

I've never seen anyone die in your hands.

Not this time as well.

You have to save her!

Ma Zhaixing needs to live.

Zhaixing,

just endure the pain for a while.

Check her pulse.

How is it?

Speak!

Master,

Young Feudal Mistress... has no pulse.

Impossible.

Ma Zhaixing won't die!

Don't die.

You can't die.

You can't!

Ma Zhaixing!

Move!

This...

Let Sister Zhaixing swallow this!

This is the Life-Saving Pill made by our State Priest.

There are only three in all of Qitan.

He gave it to my father, me, and Chu Youzhen.

Quickly make her swallow it!

She might have a chance to live!

Sister Zhaixing.

Princess.

Sister Zhaixing, please wake up.

You saved my life.

You have to wake up so I can get a chance to repay you.

Master, the Young Feudal Mistress is no longer in danger.

Master, please wait outside.

I will do my best to treat her.

I thank you in Zhaixing's place for saving her life.

When I saw Sister Zhaixing alone outside without your company,

I suspected that you two might be having a love quarrel.

Now, after I've seen you getting anxious for Sister Zhaixing's injury,

I know I was worried for no reason.

I wanted to leave when Sister Zhaixing wakes up,

but my father got anxious when he found out something happened at Fuhu Forest.

He is waiting for me to explain to him what happened.

Please report it to the King then.

I am relieved to have Prince of Bo guarding Sister Zhaixing here.

I'm leaving.

Affection shows in hardships.

Looks like Prince of Bo still cares about the Young Feudal Mistress.

But I don't get it.

Why did you act so heartless towards her back in Kuizhou?

Do you have difficulties that you can't speak of?

If Ma Zhaixing dies,

how can I explain to His Majesty?

What can I use to calm the Ma Family Army down?

Ji Chong, what are you doing?

You are offending your superior!

Move aside!

What's wrong? Are you afraid?

Do you need to hide behind your subordinate?

Mo Xiao, move.

He can't defeat me.

I have to try even if I know that!

If I take half a step back, that counts as I lose.

I will make you do that even if I risk breaking my leg!

You lose.

Don't think that Ma Zhaixing cannot live without you.

You are not worthy for her to turn back around.

Every time, when she knew that you were in danger,

she would risk her life to save you.

She deserves it!

I thought you appeared at Langshou Mountain that day

because you were worried about her.

But now,

I can see that you are just a cruel animal.

You are no human.

You are just a wolf that Chu Kui keeps.

Even if I was scolded and misunderstood,

I have to continue secretly hindering Chu Kui's evil deeds.

When will Ma Zhaixing wake up?

I'm asking you!

I don't have to answer you.

I will just answer to His Highness.

Your Prince doesn't even care about his Princess Consort!

No.

He will still pretend to take care of his Princess Consort of Bo.

It's not that Master doesn't care about Young Feudal Mistress.

- He is— - Ma Zhaixing's injury is her own fault.

She wouldn't have ended up this way if she didn't decide to come here without permission.

This is the Princess Consort of Bo's tent.

Get out.

No.

You're awake?

Ji Chong stays.

You, go out.

What?

I only want Ji Chong to stay.

All of you, go out.

It's good that you are alive.

I can give Emperor Father an explanation, at least.

Master.

You won't explain even if

the Young Feudal Mistress misunderstands you?

Nothing is more important than her being alive.

Your injuries are no better than mine.

It wasn't worth it to injure yourself.

My injuries came from the glory of defeating Prince of Bo.

Ma Zhaixing, listen here.

From now on,

I won't let you do foolish things alone again.

What do you mean?

Whenever you are alone,

your every decision can truly anger others!

Who allowed you to leave the inn?

Who allowed you to turn back and seek Prince of Bo?

Who allowed you to save me?

But... I don't–

Do you know?

You would already be dead

without the State Priest's pill!

What would I do then?

Do you want me to live my life in guilt?

I won't let you feel guilty.

After Wolf Boy left,

I felt guilty for a long time, too.

Who is Wolf Boy?

Whenever I was sad

and hid in a faraway place,

he could always find me and accompany me.

The owner of that cave in Langshou Mountain...

Then, where is he now?

He died because of me.

I wanted to protect him.

But I still...

failed in the end.

Long ago, I had a friend.

He saw his friends in the army die for him with his own eyes

yet he couldn't do anything.

I understand his sufferings.

Which is why I can understand your pain, too.

Has he moved on?

Impossible.

People with regrets in their hearts

will forever be lonely.

If you see him again,

tell him that there's a girl called Xing'er

who understands his regrets.

He is not alone.

Can he stop blaming himself right now?

Alright.

I will tell him if I get the chance.

But I hope you can promise a request of mine, too.

Let me be your second Wolf Boy.

When you feel like disappearing,

I will find you and accompany you

like how I did in Langshou Mountain.

I won't allow you to push me away.

When you are in pain,

I will catch you.

I won't allow you to sink into suffering again.

Are you drunk?

Your smile is enough to make me drunk.

You are fine if you can smile.

Go to sleep, Xing'er.

I will be here.

♫ I have always been guarding here ♫

♫ Nothing has changed ♫

♫ Like that star a billion years ago ♫

♫ Still twinkling ♫

Master,

this is the arrowhead removed from the Young Feudal Mistress.

The arrowhead was sharpened.

The edges are protruding and the tip was made sharper.

Its purpose is to increase damage and penetration.

I think I saw this before.

This type of arrowhead is used by the Jin Troops.

It was done by the Jin Troops?

Now that Master mentioned it,

the Qitan soldiers who attacked us today were

all well-trained elite soldiers.

Their martial arts and archery did look like that of the Jin Troop.

If my guess about the culprit being Jin is correct,

that means there's a spy within the Bo Troop.

Get Night Fiends to investigate in secret.

Don't alert the enemy.

Yes, Master.

Your Highness, please calm down!

We will find a way to defeat Prince of Bo's people.

You know nothing!

Prince of Bo will definitely find the culprit now that he's alive.

Maybe he already has evidence to accuse me!

Yes.

Now that it's come to this,

I had to make the last gamble.

I will not do anything while awaiting my fate

and let Prince of Bo return to meet His Majesty at the capital!

- Get the war map! - Yes!

Prince of Bo and his men will get more relaxed as

they get close to the capital.

Especially the terrain here.

If we arrange it well, plus dispatch my elite army,

we should be successful if we ambush them here.

- If we fight them head-on, the Fourth Prince and his men... - Kill them all!

Leave no one alive!

Your Highness!

They are your biological brothers.

What about the Fourth Prince?

So what?

I thought you repented for real.

So you lied to me that day.

You've fallen so deep.

Even my father's death couldn't bring you back!

I will truly disappoint your father if I don't become the emperor!

When will you understand?

Prince of Bo and his men are rushing back to the capital.

If he beats me to it,

I will be dead!

Your Highness, I beg you.

Please stop this.

Just think of Lin'er begging you as well.

Servants! Escort the Princess Consort back to her room!

Your Highness.

Stop being obstinate in the wrong ways and falling deeper into your mistakes. Your Highness!

Stop holding me up!

Madam. Madam.

Madam... Your Highness!

Chuchu! Chuchu!

Chuchu!

Chuchu, pull yourself together!

Both of you! Get the imperial physician! Hurry!

Yes, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Don't make any more mistakes.

Chuchu. Chuchu.

Chuchu! Chuchu!

Chuchu!

How is she?

Your Highness, the Princess Consort had a miscarriage.

-

I'll be leaving.

No more.

No more.

My son is no more.

After many troubles,

the alliance treaty has finally been passed to your hands.

Thank you, Princess.

I just went to visit Sister Zhaixing.

She has mostly recovered from her wounds.

I can finally be relieved and sleep well.

Besides the alliance treaty,

I also prepared another gift for you, Brother Bo.
