[The Wolf]

[Episode 13]

About the things that he knows, I believe that he's willing to confess.

Because this is one of the requirements for him not to be convicted.

I've said it. I don't know who hired us.

But from three to five tomorrow afternoon, as promised,

he will be at the Mountain God Temple on the south slope to pick up the princess.

In other words, during that period of time,

whoever shows up at the Mountain God Temple will be the culprit.

Hai Die, Mo Xiao, deploy to the Mountain God Temple. Get ready to take him down.

Yes.

Let's go.

Thanks for your assistance.

Actually, I've been waiting for you to thank me.

I almost got impatient waiting for it.

You really speak bluntly.

If I were not,

I wouldn't shoot that arrow and you wouldn't be alive and standing here to talk to me, right?

That's true.

I can see that we're of the same kind.

We will fight with all our might and spare no efforts.

We've only known each other for a few hours.

How would you know?

Earlier, you risked your own life to protect the princess with your body.

People's virtue and appearance

are shown the most clearly before their death.

Actually, I don't want to die.

I've promised him to return safely.

You don't want to die?

If it wasn't for me,

just now you would have been dead twice.

How do you plan to clear this debt?

[Owe] Here. Sign this written pledge.

Looks like you've been wanting to earn a favor from me.

I won't do any losing bargain.

But there's only the word "owe" here.

What do I owe you?

If it's a guy who owes me,

I will ask him to pay me with money.

If it's a girl,

she can give me whatever she likes.

You may repay me with whatever you like.

About the girls you've helped back then,

what did they pay you?

Some pleasure moments.

And...

something I can't tell.

I'm leaving!

How can I find you to repay your favor?

I have the written pledge.

When I want to collect your debt, I will come to you.

What a weird person.

Feudal Young Mistress.

The Princess is feeling better now.

We should send her back to the Palace.

Depart, back to the Imperial City.

Yes.

Ma Zhaixing,

you covered my beautiful face and sent me back to the palace sneakily.

Are you pranking me?

Who said that she will obey and follow the one who saved her life?

Princess Bao Na, are you going back on your own words?

Young Feudal Mistress Zhaixing!

- Your Majesty. - Please rise.

You didn't let me down.

Your Majesty, this is not solely to my credit.

It's due to the people in Bo Royal Mansion and the soldiers sent by Your Majesty.

Hence, I can successfully bring back Princess.

Princess, don't you have something to tell His Majesty?

Your Majesty, please forgive my immature acts.

I burned the agreement and left without telling anyone.

I've caused you to send out so many people.

Please forgive me, Your Majesty.

Your reckless acts have indeed upset me

but I won't seek compensation from you.

If I'm looking for compensation, I'll look for your King.

My Father has promised to loan his soldiers. Don't worry, Your Majesty.

After I return, I will ask for my Father's forgiveness.

Feudal Young Mistress Ma, I don't understand.

Since the Princess has been saved,

why did you stop me from disclosing this?

Do you know that the Prime Minister and others are still searching for the Princess?

Please forgive me, Your Majesty.

As the culprit that kidnapped the Princess is still unaware that we've rescued the Princess,

hence, the culprit will most probably follow the original plan

and appear tomorrow at 3 pm at the Mountain God Temple.

The people of Bo Royal Mansion have set a trap there.

We will catch this culprit ,for sure.

The culprit... is he...

a mole?

Very wise, Your Majesty.

That's why the Princess had to enter the Palace in disguise.

It's difficult to guard against an inside man.

If that is so, from tomorrow onward, Princess Bao Na shall remain in the Palace.

You mustn't put yourself in danger.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Young Feudal Mistress,

for tomorrow's operation in catching the mole, I shall send a capable man to your aid.

Both of you must catch this mole for me.

Yes. Thank you, Your Majesty.

You may leave. You may leave with the Princess.

Farewell, Your Majesty.

Ma Zhaxin, you'd better not act recklessly, crazily, or risk your safety again.

Tomorrow, you must return safely.

Do you understand? This is an order!

Also, I have something to tell you.

You must stay alive for me.

I understand.

By the way, Princess. There's one more thing that I need your favor for.

Go on.

I have a deal with your Bodyguard Captain.

If I still haven't found you by today's noon, I will pay with my life.

That man is really a copycat.

He's rude like me.

Leave this to me.

I'm leaving. I'm going to the prison to settle with the Captain.

I'm here to save you.

The matter that Your Highness bribed us to kidnap the princess

is going to be found out soon.

If you don't believe me, you can kill me later.

Okay.

It's you.

How do you know that the culprit is me?

You poisoned the Princess's horse and gave yourself away.

Now Bo Royal Mansion is suspecting you.

And I knew your identity from them.

Then where is Princess Bao Na now?

She was rescued by them.

What about your other accomplices?

To gain the trust of the people of Bo Royal Mansion,

we killed all of them.

I kind of helped you keep the secret.

I have zero interest in the grudges and conspiracies of royalties.

But at that time, your plan was failing.

The people of Bo Royal Mansion are starting to suspect your identity.

That Princess is no longer important.

If I wasn't here to inform you,

you... would be in danger.

Then why are you helping me?

Ten thousand taels of gold.

I'll teach you a way to get away from this and stay out of danger.

You can save your life and maintain your father's trust in you.

What is it?

When I was earning their trust,

I told their mastermind the culprit will appear at the Mountain God Temple on the south slope tomorrow.

In other words,

you just need to send a scapegoat there.

Yun Royal Mansion is in charge of the Princess's Temporary Imperial Palace and horses.

Even if I've gotten a scapegoat, first, the motive is unconvincing.

Second, I still can't get away from this.

But there's one man who suits perfectly.

It all depends if you are...

cruel enough.

[Bo Royal Mansion]

Young Feudal Mistress, everyone is ready.

The horses are ready as well.

We can go to the Mountain God Temple to catch the culprit at any time.

Before departing, I have something to say.

What we're going to face is the mastermind.

It isn't someone easy.

This trip is going to be dangerous.

But when I call to mind that you're here to help, I feel relieved.

I have faith that we can rescue Prince of Bo.

Princess, don't worry. I will always be by your side.

I won't leave you alone.

We are at your command, Young Feudal Mistress!

You all listen to the Young Feudal Mistress' words now.

Will you still follow my commands?

Your Highness?

We are at your command, Master.

Prepare your swords.

Get on the horses.

Follow me to catch the real culprit.

Yes! Understood!

Young Mistress.

- Let's go. - What are you doing?

Why are you pulling me? What are you doing here?

- I'm looking at Young Mistress. - What's there to look for?

Your Highness, won't your presence alarm the culprit?

Don't worry. I have a replacement in the prison.

Prince of Bo, I will reflect on my wrongdoings!

I finally have the chance

to gift this perfumed sachet to you in person.

This journey is full of ups and downs.

I will cherish this.

Later during the arrest of the culprit,

you mustn't stay away from me.

I will stay close by your side to keep you safe.

But His Majesty said that he's sending you to help me catch the culprit.

Listen to me.

This is the sword that you often use.

Prince of Bo, please protect us well.

Wen Yan, do make a guess.

Who will be the culprit?

Since it's an inside man, then it should be someone that we know.

Wait here.

Those swordsmen should be arriving soon.

After we pick up Princess Bao Na, kill all the swordsmen!

Yes.

Prime Minister.

Looks like you are the culprit who kidnapped Princess Bao Na.

By the order of Prince of Bo, we were lying in ambush.

Prince of Bo and Feudal Young Mistress have been released from prison.

Right now, they're on their way here.

Prince of Bo is coming as well?

Prime Minister, you better surrender.

Don't waste your time.

Kill them all!

Your Majesty, Prince of Yun is asking to see you.

- Let him in. - Yes.

Summoning Prince of Yun to enter the hall for an audience!

Aren't you in a rush to see me?

Now that you're here, why aren't you speaking?

Father Emperor, I've found out who the culprit who kidnapped Princess Bao Na is.

Who is that?

It's...

my father-in-law.

It's the Prime Minister?

Yes.

To defeat Prince of Bo and make him fall into disgrace,

he took this unwise move.

The Prime Minister hopes that with the disappearance of the Princess,

you will severely punish Prince of Bo

and indirectly gain favor for me.

What an evil heart.

He made me imprison my own son.

Punish me with death, Your Majesty.

How did you know about this?

This morning, the Prime Minister came to me and told me everything.

He wants me to work with him on this plot. But how can I tolerate that?

Right now, the Prime Minister is meeting with the villains

to bring the Princess back to the Prime Minister's Mansion.

He's planning to let me bring the Princess to you.

So that you'll acknowledge that it's me who has found the Princess

and performed a deed of merit.

How dare you, Jing Xiang.

I've appointed you as the Prime Minister

and become in-laws with you.

How dare you repay me with this!

Calm down, Father.

It's due to my foolishness.

I was deceived by sinister people!

Please rise.

Rise.

For this matter, you pulled back before it was too late.

You didn't go along with Jing Xiang's evil deeds and betray the kingdom.

I'm relieved.

Now, Jing Xiang should be in Prince of Bo's hands.

Yesterday, Young Feudal Mistress Ma rescued Princess Bao Na and saw through their conspiracy.

Today, I've ordered Prince of Bo to make use of their plot to catch the mole.

Very wise, Father Emperor!

I'm just relieved that

you did not collude with your father-in-law

and betray me.

Or else, I wouldn't spare you any mercy.

I'm absolutely loyal to you, Father Emperor!

After Prince of Bo arrests Jing Xiang,

I'll issue an imperial edict to sentence him to death.

This way, I can give the King

a reasonable explanation.

Thank you, Father Emperor, for not killing the whole family.

You may leave.

Yes, Father Emperor.

Your Highness!

- Madam, please go slowly. - How do you take care of Madam?

How can you let her walk around freely? Chuchu.

I went to my father's mansion to talk with my mother.

Suddenly, a group of imperial guards came and arrested them.

What happened?

Please find a way to save them!

They also said that my father is currently waiting to be beheaded in the prison.

I... can't save him.

Your Highness, please, I beg you!

If you don't save him now, it'll be too late!

I would like to save him,

but this is a death sentence personally given by His Majesty!

Chuchu.

- Chuchu. Chuchu! - Madam! Madam!

- Chuchu! - Madam!

What are you still doing here? Hurry and call the physician over!

- Hurry up! - Yes!

Chuchu...

Chuchu, wake up! Servants!

Somebody, help!

[Yun Royal Mansion]

When did you arrive?

I'm here just in time.

I almost missed this loving scene of you and Princess Consort.

I've prepared the things that you asked for.

The rest, I'll arrange for my men to send it over.

Prince of Yun is indeed generous.

This is considered as my little token of regard.

This is...

This is Breath Stopping Powder.

Mix it with wine and drink it.

Your pulse will be gone for four hours,

as if you're poisoned.

Although you've found yourself a scapegoat,

everyone knows that you are very close with the Prime Minister.

His Majesty will still be suspicious of you.

You need to pretend to take poison to prove your innocence with your life.

This is the best solution.

This bottle of medicine may even earn Princess Consort's heart back and forgive you.

Who are you?

A person who wanders about, loves money,

loves women, a mere rake.

I bid you goodbye.

Yesterday, the imperial physician reported to me that due to Jing Xiang's betrayal,

Yougui is overwhelmed with guilt and took poison.

Is brother alright?

His pulse was gone for a while and he nearly stopped breathing.

After such frightening moments, he was saved.

At first, I'm still suspecting that

he's in this together with Jing Xiang.

Now, it seems that I've misunderstood him.

That's it for now.

Prince of Bo,

I foolishly wronged you and put you into prison.

You won't blame me, right?

I hold no grudges at all.

Good.

I didn't expect that

Ma Zhaixing would perform such a deed of merit

and save you.

Yes.

Thanks to Ma Zhaixing, I managed to overcome this hurdle.

Apart from this,

after Princess Bao Na was saved, she sent a letter back home.

Their King already understood what happened.

He even agreed to allow

Youzhen, the Fourth Prince who has been held hostage for so many years, to return.

These are all to Young Feudal Mistress Ma's credit.

I must thank her properly.

- Zhang Jin, - Yes.

I want to gift Young Mistress Ma the best silk and satin.

Please arrange for that.

Yes, Your Majesty.

On behalf of Zhaixing, thank you, Father Emperor, for the gift.

For Princess Bao Na to be understanding this time,

I am surprised as well.

Father Emperor. Where is Princess Bao Na at the moment?

At the moment?

At the moment, Princess Bao Na should be at your Bo Royal Mansion

to challenge Ma Zhaixing.

Greetings, Your Highness.

May I know why are you here and making this grand gesture?

Ma Zhaixing,

to repay your life-saving grace, I've decided to teach you archery.

For my archery skills, my Father King and my eleven brothers said that it's excellent.

Look carefully.

What an amazing shot, Princess!

Clap your hands

for my amazing archery skills.

What's there to cheer about?

Your archery skills are worse than mine.

Since young, no matter what I do,

everyone compliments that I'm the best

but that isn't the truth.

However, the people around me are bewitched.

They lie to coax me.

Your father and brothers are trying to protect you.

I know.

In this world,

there are only two people who dare to pop the false appearances and tell me the truth.

One of them is Prince of Bo.

Three years ago, unlike the others, he didn't want to compliment my archery skills,

making a deep blow to my pride.

Because of him, for the first time, I wanted to work hard,

just to gain an approval from him.

Is this why you learned to speak Chinese and write Chinese characters this well?

The second person is you.

But how?

When you mistook silk for the bridge of magpies,

I foolishly acted along with you.

When I saw that Prince of Bo gifted you the perfumed sachet,

that was the first time I became afraid of losing to somebody.

So, I purposely tampered with it to frame you.

You're a member of the royalty.

You don't need to compete with anyone.

Your royal father and brothers will bring all glory and put it in front of you.

Yes.

I miss home.

It isn't fun here.

I'm inferior to everyone here!

Ma Zhaixing,

If you dare to tell anyone about this, I will...

Is this how you treat someone who saved your life?

Never mind.

You can even put laxative into the tea of the person that you like.

Back then, I really wished that Brother Bo will stay by my side forever.

Ma Zhaixing, I've decided.

You can have Brother Bo.

Since you're elder to me,

you're not as beautiful as me,

and your body is not as perfect as mine, too.

I'm worried that after Brother Bo cancels your marriage engagement,

you will spend the rest of your life alone.

Then, thank you for that.

Your Highness, the carriage is waiting outside the mansion.

We're ready to depart.

Thank you, Princess, for being magnanimous.

For supporting peace between both kingdoms.

Princess, I wish you a safe journey.

Brother Bo, if you come to your senses one day

and realize that Zhaixing is not as good as me,

you're welcome to join my clan and be my husband!

Zhaixing, if you get divorced by Brother Bo one day,

I will rush back to comfort you

and also celebrate for Brother Bo being single again.

Well, you'll have to wait for a long time then.

I'm leaving!

We've finally sent Princess Bao Na back safely.

Seems like you like the bow and arrow that I gifted you very much.

You bring them with you everywhere.

I really like this bow and arrow that

you gifted me.

Let me have a look if the bowstring is loose.

When Princess Bao Na was around,

you did a good job.

Whatever you want, feel free to ask for it.

The perfumed sachet and the bow and arrow that you gifted to me are more than enough.

What I want is really simple.

I just want pure, sincere love.

No deceptions, no lies.

When I was in the Palace just now,

His Majesty gifted you a tremendous gift as a reward.

There's good news as well.

The King has decided to overlook this matter.

Really?

That's great! Since we managed to borrow soldiers, the day of conquering Jin is near!

How's my spirit?

Better than men.

King of Jin,

I'm the daughter of Ma Ying, Ma Zhaixing.

You used despicable tactics

to assassinate my father and my whole family!

This is unforgivable and intolerable!

His Majesty is afraid that you still care about Kuizhou

so kept it a secret from you and released a second order to us.

That was to kill Ma Ying and his family, and leave only Ma Zhaixing alive.

When we meet at war in the future,

I, Ma Zhaixing, will chop off your head to avenge my father!

It's my fault for being unaware of it and not managing to stop Father Emperor.

I can never forgive myself.

This is a gap that can't be crossed over between us.

Come out!

- Go. - Go.

- Hurry up. - I'm afraid.

- You should go instead. - Stop dawdling.

Your Highness, it's my fault.

We just want to let you two celebrate Qixi Festival again.

If you want to punish, punish me alone.

Calm down, Master.

Your Highness, for the sake of the well-meant qiaoquo (a pastry made during the Qixi Festival) that they've brought,

please don't let down their good intention.

Today, let's celebrate this festival among the two of us again.

Qixi Festival is over.

We can't turn back time.

As long as I'm with you, I don't mind any formalities,

even if it's a pretended act.

Pretend?

If it can be pretended, I hope that I can pretend that the mistakes

I have done have never happened.

Your Highness, aren't you being a little greedy?

I just want to celebrate the Qixi Festival with you.

What about you?

Me, too.

Very much.

Among these qiaoguo, only one has a red string inside.

So, the two of you must choose carefully.

You only have one chance.

If we pick the right one,

will we be inseparable forever?

You may choose it.

There's a red string!

I knew that Young Feudal Mistress and Your Highness were destined to be a couple.

Hai Die.

Next up, you need to tie the other end of the red string around Young Mistress' little finger.

Then, tie the other end around His Highness's little finger.

In this way, both of you will live a long and happy life together

and stay inseparable forever.

Hurry up. Release the fireflies.

Isn't it beautiful?

There are a lot of fireflies.

It's beautiful.

Young Mistress is right.

I'm being selfish.

A white lie

and self-deception, they're totally different.

What did you say just now? I couldn't hear you clearly.

I must've been too clumsy that I broke the string accidentally.

Your Highness, this is just a myth.

I hope that you won't feel upset.

Never mind. I'm okay.

Enjoy. I have other things to attend to.

Why did it break?

Wolf Boy!

Be honest, are you keeping something from me?

Zhaixing,

the culprit who killed your father is Chu Kui.

Are you having a fever?

Why are you talking nonsense?

My father is doing fine.

Yesterday, didn't you go to have a meal with him?

My father even agreed that we can get married.

How could something happen to him?

Wolf Boy, are you awake?

Stop evading the subject.

Zhaixin, is Xia Hou Yi dead?

He's in the Imperial City, living just fine.

Don't curse him.

- So those eight years were just a nightmare... - What nightmare?

What are you talking about?

Nothing.
