=Dance of the Phoenix=

(Episode 1)

(Penglai Pavilion) Life began on the great Qianyuan Continent.

The residents of this continent pursue the way of cultivation.

(Darknight Court)

Only a few people born with talents

(Celestial Palace) can have the access to cultivate.

They are called cultivators.

(Junwu Academy)

Today,

the cultivators of Qianyuan

revere Junwu Academy as the supreme, which is located in the Capital.

Penglai Pavilion in the North Quarter and the Celestial Palace in the South Realm

see Junwu Academy as their leader

and submit to Junwu Academy.

However, the Darknight Court in the West Region

has always committed deviant acts,

disagreeing with Junwu Academy and other sects that advocate world peace.

(Lord Demon, Darknight Court)

Thirty years ago,

demonic beasts wreaked havoc on Qianyuan Continent.

Mortals couldn't stand the disturbance.

(Mu Jiuzhou) As the most powerful cultivator,

Mu Jiuzhou led all the sects in suppressing the demonic beasts

and setting up an energy barrier.

Junwu Clan was granted the right to manage the energy barrier.

and their cultivators were ordered to protect the mortals

from demonic beasts.

Then, Mu Jiuzhou distanced himself from the mortal world

and focused on cultivating.

Unexpectedly, had an accident while on his way

to ascend to immortality

and disappeared.

The star that represented him dimmed as well.

(Feng's Mansion) In the meantime,

Feng Wu the legitimate daughter of the patriarch

of the Feng family in the Capital was born.

Her Phoenix Blood found at birth

caused a sensation.

Because she was the second person

with Phoenix Blood on Qianyuan Continent, coming after Mu Jiuzhou.

Everything seemed to be predestined.

Twelve years later,

little Feng Wu found a spirit ring by chance.

And then, she met Mu Jiuzhou. After Mu's failure to ascend to immortality,

he turned into a ghost residing in the spirit ring.

Is your spirit energy very strong?

Little girl,

(Feng Wu, 12 years old) cultivators should always keep in mind

that even if they possess

enough spirit energy

to dominate the continent,

they must not use their energy

to do evil deeds.

Please let me follow you.

I have always been mocked for being fatherless.

So I aspire to increase my spirit energy

to protect my beautiful mom.

I swear to cultivate myself to do good deeds.

Take me as your apprentice, please.

The fact that you found the Dragon Phoenix Spirit Ring

proves that there is a link between us.

As it is,

Feng Wu,

I will take you as my apprentice.

But,

you shall keep this a secret from everyone.

Thus,

Feng Wu with Phoenix Blood

started learning from Mu Jiuzhou secretly.

As a result, her cultivation was greatly enhanced.

She became a well-known genius in the Capital.

But her extraordinary talent

aroused jealousy in some people.

(Feng Wu) My Phoenix Blood...

(Zuo Qingyun, Celestial Palace)

Zuo Qingyun,

how can you ambush me

while I was going to ascend.

There shouldn't have been two female geniuses in the Capital.

I'm the genius already.

So you are not supposed to exist.

Do you really think you can take my Phoenix Blood

to greatly increase your spirit energy?

You must be dreaming!

I have been taking great pains to cultivate since childhood.

I have never slacked off.

Your Phoenix Blood

is the only reason

that you got everything.

If you keep what happened today a secret

and promise not to return to the Capital in your life,

I will spare your life.

Not a chance!

Then I can't let you live to cause me trouble.

From now on,

my name is Zuo Qingluan.

Blue Phoenix (Qingluan), the queen of birds.

I, Zuo Qingluan,

am the only true Phoenix on Qianyuan Continent.

Am I dying?

Feng Wu.

Can you hear me?

Feng Wu.

Who are you?

You are awake, Feng Wu.

Who is Feng Wu? Where am I?

Where am I?

I guess it's fate.

What are you doing?

What are you doing?

Don't move.

You are severely injured and your cultivation is lost.

My Phoenix Blood

can only keep you healthy for a while.

If you want to restart cultivating,

you must take the Nine Transformation Spirit Restoration Pill

made of the Celestial Fruit.

What are you talking about?

Phoenix Blood? Celestial Fruit?

I'm your master Mu Jiuzhou.

I know you don't belong here.

But keep in mind

that you are Feng Wu now.

To find out who you are

and how you came here,

you must survive.

Remember.

No matter how chaotic this world is,

be kind and don't stoop to evil's level.

Cultivators see everyone as their own kind.

Hey,

aren't you my Master?

Explain to me.

Why you call me Feng Wu?

Why

am I crying?

When Feng Wu was found back,

the former teen genius

not only lost her cultivation and memory,

but also had a personality change.

She couldn't tell others what happened to her.

In the end,

she was banished by her family to an old house on the border,

as the mysterious link between Feng Wu and Mu Jiuzhou

surfaced again.

The energy barrier cracked.

The starlight that represented Mu Jiuzhou disappeared.

The soul from another world thus started

her second life.

(Three Years Later)

(Border City)

My second life started in a weird way.

Three years have elapsed

and I still don't know

how I came to this world.

Other than the mysterious man

who claimed to be my Master told me

to take the Nine Transformation Spirit Restoration Pill to restart cultivating,

I haven't found

any clue to this puzzle.

Coming in, please.

No matter how hard I tried to explain,

the people around me believed

that my personality changed was caused by my loss of spirit energy.

Whatever.

Just take things as they come.

-I'm going to believe those inspirational speeches. -Ointment!

There is always an answer to my question.

Madam,

are you troubled by having a child who cries non-stop at night?

-Try this ointment. -No. I don't want it.

Madam, do you want the new ointment?

-No. -It can treat injuries...

Good! Good!

Mister, new ointment, wanna try?

-No. I don't -Just have a try.

My Lady,

a big drugstore has opened across the street.

Business has become slower for us.

Long time no see.

Miss.

She has got no taste.

Pay attention.

Just strike one deal and we will make

enough money to survive for a long time.

Why do you block my way,

pretty lady?

Mister,

your face looks

ominous to me.

Nonsense!

Our Young Master

is the only child of the City Governor

Good fortune favors him.

There is nothing wrong with his face.

Come here.

Mister,

have you been wetting your bed

since childhood?

Bullshit.

-Bullshit. -Wait,

take it easy.

Your bed-wetting...

Go away.

Lower your voice.

Your condition is caused by the coldness of your bladder.

You can't drink much water.

As the saying goes,

"Water makes you rich.

If you lose water, you lose money."

Mister,

if this disease keeps haunting you,

you probably will lose your riches.

Wait, please wait.

Since you have found my disease,

please tell me how to cure me.

I know a way to cure you.

But it's difficult.

It's okay. Just tell me.

I can get anything.

You need the bladders of twelve animals as the medicinal usher

and rootless water.

Decoct three bowls of medicine into one bowl.

But the medicine

is expensive...

That's not a problem.

Our Young Master has plenty of money.

But it takes time.

I have only made one bottle of this medicine.

Besides, I need to give out medicines and diagnose the patients in this town.

Wait a moment.

I'm also a patient in this town.

Yes.

And you have the remedy for my illness.

Yes.

Help me.

Fine.

How much?

Ten taels of gold.

You heard it. Ten taels of gold. Hurry up!

Here you are.

Please be careful with this.

If this bottle is damaged,

you won't get another one.

OK.

You are such an angel.

Hold it, you two.

Get that camel out of my way.

-Make way. -Make way.

Let me hold it for you.

Make way.

Make way.

My Lady,

isn't that the sweet walnut soup you gave me?

You sold that for ten taels of gold!

The sweet walnut soup cures bed-wetting.

It's just the remedy for his illness.

Wait.

How...

How did you know he...

When I was diagnosing Ms. Li at her home,

Ms. Li told me.

She works at the City Governor's place.

She chatted with me on the way.

She said the City Governor's foolish son

a 20-year-old man, still wet his bed every day,

so she had to wash his quilt every day.

Stop Jun Linyuan and the other two people.

We must not let them obtain the Celestial Fruit.

(Jun Linyuan, Crown Prince of Junwu Clan)

(Xuan Yi, the member of Junwu Clan)

It's the Darknight Court.

Form a seal.

(Feng Xun, Penglai Pavilion)

The Firecloud Giant Hawk.

According to the books,

it guards the Celestial Fruit.

Let's see which one is suitable.

Let me find it.

I hung them all here.

This is it.

It is suitable.

Alright.

Old Man Ba.

Be careful.

You just barged in

(Old Man Ba) and almost scared me into falling.

Damn.

Please tell me.

There are good news about the Nine Transformation Spirit Restoration Pill.

I have told you repeatedly

that I can't help you without the Celestial Fruit.

I have tried numerous prescriptions for you.

Then

when can I restart cultivating?

Let me divine for you.

Now the Celestial Fruit

should be ripe in the Frozen Forest.

Haven't you noticed

that many cultivators

arrived on the border a few days ago?

But you are weak.

If you enter the Frozen Forest rashly,

you will be eaten by the demonic beasts there.

So,

the Celestial Fruit

can be found in the Frozen Forest?

But how do I know its exact location?

The cultivators live in Yunlai Tavern.

You may go there

and seize the chance to join a team.

Then you can...

You are right.

How come it never occurred to me?

Don't rush off.

I don't have time to cook for you today.

But

I brought wine.

This is the old Huadiao wine

I asked the seller to save it for me.

It's really good. It's really good.

Excuse me then.

Just go.

Thank you, Old Man Ba.

Her Majesty has arrived.

Holy Queen,

why are you here?

Your Majesty,

(Holy Queen Gao of Junwu Clan) I took some time to distribute food

to the people outside.

After that, I remembered

that I should pack things up and prepare the valuables for Linyuan.

Don't bother.

(Holy Sovereign of Junwu Clan) He has started off.

He has started off already?

I heard that there are a great many fierce demonic beasts in the Frozen Forest

on the border.

Will he be in danger?

Don't worry.

Xuan Yi and Feng Xun went with him.

Very well.

Linyuan has had a gift for learning spells quickly since childhood.

But he can't swim.

It's better to have

people at his side.

He is Junwu Clan's hope.

Nothing bad must happen to him.

Linyuan shows the potential to ascend

to Spiritual Elder at a young age.

Over the past century,

nobody except Mu Jiuzhou

has been as talented

as Linyuan.

Since the energy barrier cracked,

Demonic beasts all over the world have prepared themselves to make trouble.

If Junwu Clan

is the first to make an elixir,

my spirit energy may increase greatly,

and the Darknight Court

won't have nuts to make more trouble.

You show concern for the people's distress.

What you said was wise.

Your birthday will be celebrated on the fifth day of the next month.

I hope Linyuan will obtain the Celestial Fruit successfully

to delight you.

The Celestial Fruit.

Yes.

With the Celestial Fruit,

I will be able to make the best elixir.

(Feng's Mansion)

I finally have a clue.

I must give it a try.

I need to visit Yunlai Tavern tomorrow.

Mom.

Feng Wu.

Mom.

Feng Wu.

What's the matter with you?

Why do you come back so late?

The Border City Governor said

demonic beasts would wreak havoc on the border these days

and I told you not to run around.

Don't you remember?

Sorry that I made you worry.

I went to Old Man Ba.

He pestered me for roast pork.

You know

he did us a favor.

You often said we should return the favor.

Mom, don't be mad at me.

Feng Wu,

give me a break, will you?

You are not the girl you once were.

If a demonic beast catches you,

you will die for sure.

I don't want to see you being sent back

within an inch of your life again. Understood?

Mom, I'm sorry.

Alright. We are good.

Are you cold?

Come in.

Mom. Here. Let me help you.

Master.

You have endured hardship in the past three years.

The Celestial Fruit ripens every sixty years.

Feng Wu, you must seize this chance

to obtain the Celestial Fruit and make the Nine Transformation Spirit Restoration Pill.

Then you will get to restart cultivating.

Master, what will happen after I recover my spirit energy?

Will I know who I am?

Feng Wu, everything in this world is decided by fate.

I have made the best arrangements for you.

Master, you just left like that?

Give me more advice.

I dreamed of Master again.

I guess I have been too nervous.

What people think about during the day is what they dream about at night.

No.

That was Master's warning for me.

I have waited for three years.

I must be well-prepared

and obtain the Celestial Fruit.

My Lady.

Are you sure to dress like this?

This is called keeping a low profile

and going out stealthily.

I'm going to do great things.

But you can't keep a low profile

with this pretty face.

You're right.

How about

I get some wood ashes from the kitchen to smear your face?

Don't bother.

Look.

This is my special Seaweed Black Pearl Powder.

By the way, My Lady,

you have received a letter from the Capital.

What's the matter?

Nothing.

Jun Linyuan is coming to the Border City for inspection.

What?

Don't make a fuss.

We just need to stay away from them.

But

I'm afraid that the Feng family will send people here.

No. No.

My Lady,

back in the day, they banished the three of us

to this forsaken old family residence,

not giving us any food or clothing items.

We live off your swindle.

What do you mean by swindle?

I use my great medical skills

to practice medicine and help people.

All in all,

just make a living from selling drugs.

Fortunately, Old Man Ba taught you medicine.

What do they want now?

Do they want us dead?

Qiu Ling, don't be mad.

I will stay with you.

My Lady, your cultivation has been destroyed.

Other people call you a good-for-nothing.

We dare not go out with our real identities.

Today's people only know

you're the Fifth Young Lady of the Feng family on the border.

But they don't know

you once were the pride of the Feng family in the Capital,

and you were a cultivation genius

widely admired at a young age.

So what if my cultivation has been destroyed?

I will restart cultivating someday.

Besides,

someone told me

that once I have made the Nine Transformation Spirit Restoration Pill

then I can restart cultivating.

My Lady, Madam told you not to talk about this.

How come you never remember?

That's because I always keep my mission in mind.

-Have a look. -Come here. Have a look.

Candied hawthorns.

My Lady.

Your Black Pearl Seaweed Powder is simply magical.

(Yunlai Tavern) It's like you have got a new face.

That's right.

Enjoy.

Ladies, come in here.

Come in here.

This way.

Candied hawthorns.

My Lady.

Yunlai Tavern is the last post house on the road

to the Frozen Forest.

People used to avoid getting here,

lest they should run into demonic beasts.

How come so many people here today?

Are they here for the Celestial Fruit?

Let's wait and see.

Candied hawthorns.

Ladies, enjoy.

Great.

Then

His Highness Jun will arrive on the border soon.

We will get

to see His Highness Jun in person.

He is a rare cultivation genius

on Qianyuan Continent.

You haven't even met him yet

and you are already elated.

If you become engaged to him,

you will probably

be over the moon.

I'm not that lucky.

His Highness Jun was once engaged.

to the famous daughter of Feng family.

I think her name is Feng Wu.

But His Highness Jun canceled their engagement three years ago

and she disappeared after that.

My Lady,

you haven't forgotten that, have you?

I thought you never mentioned it

because you were sad.

After you got injured,

you were told the engagement was canceled.

He just canceled our engagement like that?

So Jun Linyuan isn't a good man.

Why are they so gossipy?

It's none of their business.

My Lady,

you were one of the Two Phoenixes of the Capital.

And you were engaged

to His Highness Jun of Junwu Clan.

You two were the golden couple.

Of course they would gossip.

Feng Wu and His Highness Jun

(Mu Yao, Celestial Palace) used to be a perfect match.

It's a shame

that their engagement was canceled.

The Two Phoenixes of the Capital?

Who is the other Phoenix?

The other Phoenix is...

It's a good thing that the engagement was canceled.

Or His Highness Jun would have married beneath himself.

Enough.

I beg your kindness.

Give me some food.

Go beg someone else. Go away.

Don't listen to him.

Yes.

I beg your kindness.

Go away.

Go away.

Why are there so many beggars?

(Yunlai Tavern)

Kind ladies, give me some food, please.

Waiter! What's with this?

How can you let a beggar in?

I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Nobody lets you in.

-Get out. -Wait.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Come on.

Get out.

Here.

The members of the Celestial Palace are good-looking

and kind-hearted.

I wonder if we will

see Goddess Zuo of the Celestial Palace.

I heard that she and His Highness Jun are a good match.

My Lady,

you just asked me about the Two Phoenixes of the Capital.

The other Phoenix

is Goddess Zuo Qingluan of the Celestial Palace.

Zuo Qingluan?

Zuo Qingluan is a popular candidate

for the Spirit Princess.

That's good.

Now I won't be involved.

I beg your kindness.

Come here. Get out.

You were given food just then.

Get out.

You were well just then.

Don't make yourself our liability.

Get up.

Get up.

Are you okay?

My lords and ladies,

please check on him.

The tavern

can't afford to have someone die in here.

It's our duty to save people.

But we are

headed for the Frozen Forest.

We just came here early to wait for someone.

We don't have much immortal grass or many magical drugs.

And we can't be late.

Take this.

Get a doctor here.

Waste no time.

I will check on him.

Qiu Ling, give me a pair of chopsticks.

OK.

My Lady.

What are you doing?

Saving him.

Only Mu Jiuzhou knows how to treat illness

by sticking needles into people's bodies.

You think a country girl like you has learned everything

after hearing some rumors or reading some books?

You may worsen his condition.

If you keep holding me back,

his condition will deteriorate.

(Yunlai Tavern)

As far as I can see, you are just playing tricks.

As cultivators,

we can't let you deceive people with your fallacy.

Stop.

Senior Sister.

Zuo Qingluan is here.

-Goddess Zuo is here. -This is Zuo Qingluan?

Yes, she is.

He has woken up.

The drug cured him.

Goddess Zuo is amazing.

How are you?

I'm good.

Thank you for saving me.

The Celestial Palace is living up to its reputation.

The drug took effect immediately.

That's right.

It has got to be the Goddess who can save the day.

Mu Yao,

Master has always told us

to show charity and help people.

People are lives.

We must not rank them.

You are right, Senior Sister.

Have you received news about Zhao Ge?

It's said

she appeared in Jingzhou recently.

Senior Sister, we came to help His Highness Jun

on Master's order.

Please don't be distracted.

Who is she?

She is Goddess Zuo Qingluan of the Celestial Palace.

You don't even remember her?

Run!

Run!

Let's get out of here!

Come on.

Run!

How does the Firecloud Giant Hawk get here?

Hurry up.

My Lady, come on!

Run!

Run!

They are so powerful.

That's the Ice Shield of the Celestial Palace.

It's unbreakable.

Holy crap. The Ice Shield can't hold on.

This guy just made an unbelievably dramatic entrance.

Hindrance.
