Maid Escort

Episode 13

Qingfeng Camp

Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao, please don't die!

Yang Xiao!

Zi Yuan, you're awake.

How did I end up here?

How long have I been sleeping?

It's been seven days.

Seven days?

Where is Yang Xiao?

Is Yang Xiao okay?

My people are still looking for him.

When we found you,

you were passed out at cliff side.

Fortunately, we found Liu Tiao.

I think

he's going to Xie family's court to look for Young Master Yang.

I...

Yi Yuan, where are you going?

I need to see him.

Calm down.

Farewell Cliff is bottomless.

It's packed with wild animals too.

Not to mention that you can't go down.

Even if you really go down and found him,

you'll only find his bones.

Let alone wild animals,

even if it's hell,

I'll have to go there.

Yang Xiao!

Yang Xiao!

Yang Xiao!

Yang Xiao, where are you?

Yang Xiao, where are you?

Yang Xiao!

Yang Xiao.

Finish the wine.

From now on,

I'll be your leader.

What makes you qualified? You're just a jack-of-all-trades

You only know Yue Family Fist which is handed down from your ancestors.

What's wrong? Are you looking down on me?

Since I splurged all my savings

to get an expensive sword,

I planned to have some wine

before traveling around the world on a horse.

By chance, you were sitting at the next table .

From then on,

I forgot about traveling around the world.

Capital City

Greetings from the bad daughter.

Yin Ruo, I'm glad that you're back.

Master, something has gone wrong.

Something has gone wrong.

Why is Yin Ruo so unfortunate?

Finally she's engaged

but Yang Xiao died all of a sudden.

What's going on?

When Yang Xiao was escorting goods in Guiyue State,

he ran into bad guys.

Then, he was pushed off the cliff

and fell to his death.

Yang Xiao is dead.

What should Yin Ruo do?

Master, there's rumour

saying that Young Lady Yin Ruo has a cursed life.

Anyone who is close with her will be cursed.

She's not even married to him yet

but she's cursed her fiance to death.

Who knows if you're the cause to Madam Hong's death too.

You!

Master, don't be angry.

Who is blabbing around?

Poor Yin Ruo.

I knew it.

No one would want to marry you anymore.

Don't worry, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life.

Before my brother and sister-in-law died,

they entrusted me with Xiao'er.

I thought

if I kept him by my side in the capital city,

he would grow up safely,

and then get married and settle down.

If that happens, at least I fulfill my promise

to my late brother and sister-in-law.

Who would have thought...

Xiao'er,

why are you so unfortunate?

Xiao'er.

I've planned everything.

Zhuo'er is busy developing his business outside the capital city.

Xiao'er almost became a family with the Bai Family.

We were so close to securing the status of the Yang Family.

Both of them were working in the different directions

but towards the same goal.

When the time comes, the Yang Family's business will expand.

However, the Yang Family is not in God's favor.

Why are you doing this to the Yang Family?

Brother.

Sister-in-law.

I've failed you.

I was unable to take care of Xiao'er.

Zi Yuan.

Yang Zhuo and Yin Ruo

have been brought back to the capital city by Chief Zheng.

Why don't you come to the Yuan Residence with me?

We will take good care of you.

I'm not leaving.

Zi Yuan.

It's good to know that they've left.

This is a place of troubles.

God knows how many more dangers are waiting ahead.

However, you'll be in danger too.

Zi Jun.

I need a favor.

As long as you can pull yourself together,

I'll do anything for you.

I remember,

the surname of the General who rules Guiyue State is Fan.

Do you have any connection

that can lead me to General Fan in Guiyue State?

My master, Gu Shu Yu is the manager of Guiyue State.

He's General Fan's right hand.

If I ask for his help,

it shouldn't be a problem.

Both of us can meet up with him later.

Zi Yun, don't be upset.

I'll prepare for our trip to Guiyue State right away.

Okay.

Stop drinking, Zi Yuan.

It's bad for health.

Have you found him?

Not yet.

I'm staying back.

I won't give up until I found him,

even if I would only find his corpse.

Let me know if you have any news.

I'm heading out for a few days.

I'm going to Guiyue State.

I have to complete the escorting task

on behalf of Yang Xiao.

I'm going to connect the route.

Guiyue State

Zi Jun.

Will your master agree to help?

Don't worry, Zi Yuan.

My master dotes on me.

Furthermore, I've prepared so many delicacies for him.

He'll help us for sure.

Master!

Zi Jun, you're even taller now.

You may leave now.

Yes.

Master, I brought you

your favourite steamed bun with crab roe,

flat bread from Li Bakery,

and soy milk from Wang Tofu Shop.

Stop it.

You must be up to something. Just say it.

Gu Shu Yu, Commander of Guiyue State Army

As expected, you're fear inspiring

just and stern.

Stop trying to flatter me.

Say it or I'm leaving.

Please don't go, Master.

She is Zi Yuan.

I'm here to introduce her to you.

I'm Yue Zi Yuan from Shenwei Armed Escorts.

Greetings, Officer Gu.

I'm here with the hope that you can

introduce me to General Fan.

I would like to discuss about expanding new trade route in Guiyue State.

Meeting the General is a great deal.

Opening a new trade route in Guiyue State is a great deal too.

Zi Jun, it's not a game.

Don't worry, Master.

I have faith in Zi Yuan.

She will do her best in this.

Officer Gu.

I'm doing this for the sake of Guiyue State.

Opening up a new trade route in Guiyue State

is a great service

that would benefit the people.

Things will be so much easier with your help.

Yue Zi Yuan?

Are you the Armed Escort Chief of Shenwei Armed Escorts?

You're indeed competent and far-sighted.

I've heard about you before.

Zi Jun always mentioned you.

I'll consider about it.

Zi Jun, long time no see.

Come and drink with me.

Sure, Master.

Zi Yuan, see, it's a good idea to bring wine along.

Let's bond with my master.

Let's go.

Finally the chance is here.

Stop the opening of new trade route. Do it in secret

It's a secret order from Lord Wang.

Kill anyone who stands in your way. Don't expose yourself.

He said it's urgent.

Madam?

He didn't mention me at all.

Tell him I know what to do.

Go now.

Yes.

What's the point of being pretty?

In the end,

I've to serve General Fan who is old and hideous.

Has anyone genuinely care for you?

Fan Residence

My Lord.

We want to see General Fan.

Inform him.

Please hang on.

Officer Gu, this way please.

Madam Hu.

Some guests are here to see General Fan.

Madam Hu.

You must be

Yue Zi Yuan who plans to open up a new trade route.

Yes, I am.

Officer Gu.

General Fan wants to see Ms Yue in private.

Please wait outside.

General Fan wants to see you in private.

He may want to test you.

You should grasp the chance.

Chun Tao.

Yes.

Ms Yue, this way please.

General Fan, the guarding general of Guiyue State

Are you Yue Zi Yuan from Shenwei Armed Escorts?

Greetings, General Fan.

This is a thousand year old ginseng from the peak of Kunlun Mountain.

It's the first time we met.

I hope you can accept it.

You insist to see me.

You even prepared a precious present for me.

All you want is to open up a new trade route?

You're so wise, General Fan.

Shenwei Armed Escorts

has been escorting goods along Guiyue State and the capital city.

Since three years back,

mishaps kept happening along the new trade route in Guiyue State.

Many armed escorts closed down because of that.

Many users have to queue up for a long time

to use the official trade route,

not to mention the expensive cost which is not beneficial to people.

Therefore, I'm here

with the hope that you can

back me up in opening up a new route connecting Guiyue State

and the capital city.

With that,

it will help in developing commerce in Guiyue State.

It's beneficial to the country and the people.

What you said does make sense.

General.

General Fan!

How dare you!

How dare you kill General Fan?

Take her down!

It's not me.

I didn't do anything.

Zi Yuan!

There must be a misunderstanding.

Zi Yuan!

What's going on?

It was not me.

Put down your weapons!

Officer Gu is here.

You'd better not be dense!

Officer Gu.

I didn't do anything.

I'm sure it's a conspiracy.

Men!

Yes.

Lock her away in the prison!

-Yes! -Master, don't arrest her.

It must be a misunderstanding.

Officer Gu, it was not me!

Officer Gu.

Come in.

How is it?

Madam, General Fan dropped dead.

Yue Zi Yuan has been locked away in the prison.

She's now on the death row.

Yinfeng Pavilion of Guiyue State

Yue Zi Yuan.

Yue Zi Yuan.

Zi Yuan.

Even though you're severely injured,

you only care about Yue Zi Yuan.

Young Lady Bai.

Bai Residence

Young Lady Bai.

Mother, I'm such a bad daughter.

I can't make your last wish come true.

I've no idea

how things turned out this way.

Yang Xiao is dead.

Zi Yuan and I can't get back to how we were.

Bai Residence

It's rumoured around the capital city that

I've cursed Yang Xiao to death.

The Bai Residence can't house me anymore despite its size.

In this world,

no one else cares about me anymore.

Father.

I'm afraid

the odds are against Yang Xiao.

I think it'd better

not to hold up Young Lady Bai.

It's hard to predict Xiao'er's situation.

However, Master Bai is of the view that

the betrothal was contracted before the incident.

It's known in the capital city.

If we cancel the betrothal now,

people will firmly believe that Young Lady Bai

is the cause of death of her husband.

Father.

Young Lady Bai is innocent and kind.

They are talking nonsense!

Sit down first. Be patient.

I heard that during the journey to Guiyue State,

you've been guarding Young Lady Bai.

I'm just...

Will you marry Young Lady Bai?

If you are willing to marry her, you should go get her.

I don't want to hold up Xiao'er and you.

Where did she go?

Where did she go?

Master, Young Master Yang Zhuo wants to see you.

Send him in.

Yes.

Master Bai.

I'm here to pay Young Lady Bai a visit.

I don't think it's possible.

She's gone missing.

She was gone when I woke up.

She's gone missing since morning?

She's just a fragile lady.

I hope she didn't meet with any mishap.

Master Bai, don't worry.

Don't panic.

I'll bring some people to look for Young Lady Bai.

I'm not as panicked as he is.

What are you waiting for?

Send people to look for her.

Yes.

Good day.

Have you seen this lady before?

No.

Miss, have you seen her before?

No.

Thank you.

Check out the umbrella.

Thank you.

Excuse me.

Have you seen her before?

I think I saw her before.

She's heading towards the river outside the city.

The river?

Young Lady Bai, what are you doing?

Don't be silly!

Young Lady Bai, what's happening?

Yang Xiao is dead.

Zi Yuan left.

My mother left me behind too.

Everyone in the capital city is treating me as a laughingstock.

I'm too shameful to continue living.

Let me die. Just leave me alone.

Young Lady Bai, listen to me.

Let's leave the capital city.

Let's stay away from the conflicts.

You can start over at any place.

The world is huge.

There must be a place that can house you.

Master, please let go of Zi Yuan.

I'll listen to you from now on.

I won't be slacking anymore.

Stop messing around.

Yue Zi Yuan has committed felony.

It's incomparable to your mischief.

However,

Zi Yuan is framed.

At the time,

she was alone in the room with General Fan.

Who else could it be?

It seems that she's been plotting it.

No evidence was obtained.

How could you simply charge her of murder?

In that case,

I could have murdered General Fan too.

You should arrest me too.

Ridiculous!

Yuan Zi Jun, as my disciple,

you can't tell what is wrong and right.

You neglect the country's affairs because of love.

You're letting me down.

You're letting your parents down too.

She'll be beheaded seven days later.

You're allowed to pay her a visit.

Hurry up!

Why are you in a rush?

Hurry up!

Why are you in a rush?

Zi Yuan.

You're only allowed to be here for half an hour.

You'll have to leave when the time is up.

You must have suffered a lot.

I'm an armed escort. I'm used to it.

Didn't I tell you not to come?

Look.

I brought your favourite wine

and roasted chicken.

You've grown up.

Don't be selfish.

You need to consider about

your master, Gu Shu Yu.

Got it?

Don't be upset.

It's nothing scary about death.

It'll happen in a blink of an eye.

Zi Yuan.

Don't think too much.

I'll save you for sure.

Later, I'll kneel before my master's military camp.

I won't get up if she refuses to save you.

Have you forgotten

what I just said?

I...

My only regret is

I didn't get to open up the new trade route.

It's Yang Xiao's last wish

but I can't complete it.

Zi Yuan, you have got me.

I'll rescue you.

I promise.

We can work on it together.

It's a huge project.

The opening of the new trade route in Guiyue

involves too many people and their interests.

Yang Xiao and I couldn't take it.

You’re just a little fool.

Don't get yourself involved.

This is for you.

Blow it when you're in danger.

People from Qingfeng Camp

will come to your rescue.

♫ Dance in the rainbow skirt and feathered coat ♫

They will help you out.

I don't want it.

Take it.

Blow it now.

♫ Let it condense down into good times ♫

Seek help from those experts.

Don't be silly.

Zi Jun.

♫ You make words whirling around in the poem ♫

Thank you for helping me out.

♫ Fill in your brows really lightly and put on the forehead decoration♫

Don't go to the execution ground when I get beheaded.

If fate allows,

♫ The young shoots of reeds are grey ♫

I'll be glad to be your sister again in the next life.

♫ The person who I miss is somewhere beyond the stream ♫

♫ Grind an inch of love sickness ♫

♫ Into an endless autumn stream ♫

♫ When she looked back at me and smiled ♫

♫ It turns over in my mind ♫

♫ While heating wine by the window ♫

♫ I started to compose a poem when snow was falling ♫

♫ I wrote about my love sickness for you ♫

♫ I turned the entire pond black as I relentlessly wrote about you ♫

♫ I described the moments we had in spring ♫

♫ I couldn't forget you ♫

♫ My love sickness for you would never end ♫

Yang Xiao, didn't I tell you

to take a rest?

Why did you get up?

I've almost recovered.

I'm going to become disabled if I keep lying in bed.

Don't say that.

I'm heading out for two days.

I want to find Zi Yuan.

Why are you in a rush?

I'll ask around.

We need to plan it thoroughly.

Sorry to have troubled you.

I'm really worried about Zi Yuan.

I think it'd better for me to look for her by myself.

If I tell him

Miss Yue has been sentenced to death,

he will surely risk his own life to save her.

I think I should only break it to him when he gets better.

Young Master Yang, you're recovering.

You should rest more.

Let me help you, okay?

No need.

I can manage.

She deserves it.

Why would she commit such a grave crime?

The female armed escort

is bold and reckless.

She poisoned General Fan all by herself

and she succeeded.

I heard that she's on death row.

She'll be beheaded tomorrow.

If I were the officer in charge, I would behead her as soon as possible.

God knows if Yue Zi Yuan practices black magic?

Otherwise, how did she kill General Fan

without anybody knowing it?

Don't mess with her.

Yue Zi Yuan is going to be beheaded today?

Yes.

Enforce justice on behalf of heaven

-Go now! -Let go of me!

I can walk on my own!

Hurry up!

I know Chief Zheng.

I'm here to seek help from him!

-Go now! -Let go of me!

Chief Zheng, we captured a pretty boy.

He insists that he wants to see you.

Yuan Zi Jun, why are you here?

Zi Yuan is in danger!

You're the only person who can save her.

What happened?

Zi Yuan is wrongly accused of murdering General Fan.

She'll be beheaded today!

What?

Please save Zi Yuan, Chief Zheng!
