Episode 36

16

Greetings to Your Highness.

17

Mistress, you're awake! You just fainted a moment ago.

18

This physician has come to examine you.

19

Xueyun, you mustn't hide your sickness for fear of treatment.

20

Your Highness, I'm fine.

21

I just got drenched in rain. Sorry, doctor, for letting you come here in vain.

22

- Prescribe her some medicines to drive away the coldness.

- Yes.

23

Xueyun, why must you kneel outside the Red Phoenix Room?

24

Your Highness, did I cause Princess Consort difficulties?

25

I'm not blaming you.

26

Could it be that no matter what I do,

27

you will never believe me again?

28

Could it be that it's really hard for a person to regret what she have done?

29

The distance of a road will test the horse's strength. Time will show a person's real heart.

30

If you are sincere in repenting for what you've done, people will naturally notice it.

31

- Your Highness—

- Just rest well.

32

- Your Highness! Your Highness!

- Mistress!

33

Mistress! You must be careful.

34

As time passes, His Highness will eventually forgive you.

35

Forgive?

36

I don't need anyone's forgiveness.

37

Leave!

38

Why are you here?

39

I'm thinking if I should forgive Ma Xueyun.

40

Don't you have a heart of stone? She was so bad to you. You're still willing to forgive her?

41

There is nothing better than knowing to admit one's mistake and changing one's wrong ways. If this was before, I surely will not forgive her.

42

But now, things are different.

43

How is it different?

44

Because I want to be a Princess Consort that will not give you any worries.

45

That's why, I've decided to forgive her.

46

But Rong Zhi, let me tell you, I'm not willing to be taken advantage of.

47

If I treat you well, you should treat me well too.

48

Got it?

49

I got it.

50

Then, pinky swear.

51

Okay.

52

Your Highness, she broke off form our agreement.

53

As expected.

54

That bitch, destroying the bridge after crossing the river, what does she treat us as?

55

Come. Sit.

56

Sit. Didn't you hear me talking to you?

57

Ma Xueyun wanted to use me to eliminate her love rival.

58

That's why, she secretly sent me a message.

59

We're just using each other. No need to say it as breaking faith and abandoning right.

60

Too bad that we didn't succeed during the temple festival.

61

Your Highness, if you ask me, we don't need to spend this much effort to eliminate Liu Chuyu.

62

Just letting her and Ma Xueyun fighting to the death,

63

won't that be good too?

64

Killing Liu Chuyu isn't my goal.

65

Letting Rong Zhi suffer a great blow is what I want to see.

66

- Does he really care that much about his Princess Consort?

- How can he not?

67

Once the Liu Song princess dies,

68

the stable situation that he meticulously tried to maintain will surely get destroyed.

69

If not because Rong Zhi

70

cleaned up his manor and pulled out all the spies that I painstakingly inserted by his side,

71

we totally wouldn't need Ma Xueyun!

72

But, she already got involved in this

73

and now she wanted to just withdraw from this like that? How can it be that easy?

74

Withdraw from this?

75

Not right. You're belittling the envious heart of a woman.

76

Let me make a bet with you. Ma Xueyun will surely not easily stop.

77

Just wait to watch a good play.

78

What big storm can a rich daughter like her cause?

79

Let's just wait and see. Here.

80

Mistress, what's wrong with you?

81

Are we there yet?

82

We are. It's just that one in front.

83

Stop the carriage then.

84

Stop the carriage.

85

I've already followed your instructions and looked for the best doctor here in Pingcheng.

86

I heard that the doctor in this clinic has miraculous medicinal skills.

87

He's quite famous in Pingcheng.

88

But no matter how good the doctors outside are, it can't compare to the imperial physicians.

89

Why don't we...

90

- Thank you, doctor.

- Take care.

91

This Madam, in checking for illness, I must look at your face.

92

Please remove your face covering.

93

Just examine me like this.

94

My Mistress can't be blown by the wind. If she said that you examine her like this, just do it. Stop with your nonsense.

95

Madam, you are...

96

Doctor, can we speak in private?

97

Madam, there is a treatment room inside. If you don't mind it being very simple and crude, we can talk there.

98

Bixi, just wait here outside. I'll be done soon.

99

Madam, just let me follow you inside.

100

Bixi.

101

Yes.

102

Please go inside.

103

[Medical Clinic]

104

Madam, I've prescribed you your medicine. Please remember to take them on time.

105

But this is just a method to treat the symptoms and not the root cause.

106

Madam, your health really needs to be nursed.

107

Doctor, no need for you to worry.

108

I have a sense of propriety.

109

But Madam, if you delay this further—

110

Doctor, I must go now.

111

Please.

112

Concubine Ma, Princess Consort already understand your good intentions.

113

But coincidentally, she's not around today.

114

How about you just come back next time?

115

Qingyue is here. Princess Consort is not?

116

Sister Lanruo, my Mistress only has good intentions. She especially brought some snacks from Qingyue Restaurant

117

to let Princess Consort taste them.

118

Bixi.

119

Please help me and personally give these to Princess Consort.

120

Yes. I surely will.

121

Thanks.

122

Bixi, let's go now.

123

Qingyue! Qingyue! Don't just casually eat that.

124

What if there is something in here and you get sick from it?

125

It's fine. Eat.

126

Princess Consort, have you forgotten what happened last time?

127

Don't worry . She won't use poison.

128

If she poisons me to death,

129

that's murdering the Prince Regent's Wife. She'll get executed for it.

130

It's just that...isn't Ma Xueyun being eagerly attentive to me?

131

I heard that Empress Dowager had Concubine Ma see her.

132

I'm thinking that it Lady Majesty Empress Dowager must have convinced her.

133

Or else, with her personality, how could she be like this?

134

Or, there is one more possiblity.

135

What?

136

Do you still remember that maidservant that the palace gifted to His Majesty?

137

Although Concubine Ma has cleaned up the matter, Empress Dowager still got very angry with it.

138

I'm sure that she got cruelly scolded.

139

If not that way, how could she easily bow down her head?

140

Qingyue, you think that's the case?

141

[Qingyue Restaurant]

142

Your Highness, what's wrong?

143

It's you.

144

I've cooked some red dates and medlar porridge.

145

It can help keep you awake and not harm your body.

146

Thanks.

147

What's wrong?

148

The last time that His Highness talked with me with such a pleasant smile on your face

149

has been so long ago.

150

But I know that it was all my fault.

151

I was bad and caused you to be angry.

152

Xueyun.

153

This is not your fault.

154

You have no fault at all.

155

It's just that...

156

It's just that His Highness will never have me in your heart again.

157

Am I right?

158

Your Highness, do you still remember our first meeting?

159

Up to now, I still can remember

160

our first meeting.

161

Miss, that hair pin is shining under the sun. So beautiful.

162

Really?

163

Be careful!

164

That day, I saw you

165

- willingly risked danger just for a beggar.

- Are you alright?

166

From that day on,

167

I felt that Your Highness is different from others.

168

You were willing to almost lose your life just for a beggar.

169

You must be a kind person.

170

I can't be counted as a good person, but I still was moved by a Your Highness like that.

171

It's just that I didn't notice it then. I—

172

It's getting late. Those are all in the past.

173

Why is Your Highness avoiding the topic?

174

Xueyun,

175

you are different from before.

176

In Your Highness eyes,

177

I am just a self-assumed and aloof lady.

178

Always focusing on those harem matters.

179

Full of envy. Am I right?

180

You don't need to hurry in refuting it.

181

Even when I see myself in the mirror,

182

I would feel disgusted on myself.

183

But Your Highness, I'm already used to hiding my true emotions.

184

Only showing my tender and likable traits to men.

185

When you're unhappy, I'll accompany you to admire wind, flowers, snow, and the moon. (distractions)

186

This is the role given to me by the heaven.

187

Xueyun, you're not hateful.

188

It's the opposite. You're adorable.

189

You are worthy to have a better man to guard you.

190

I thought that you would hate me.

191

Never thought that you'll say such words.

192

Xueyun.

193

Your Highness,

194

can you hug me one more time?

195

So funny!

196

Concubine Ma, is everything you're saying true?

197

Of course.

198

Really so interesting.

199

Greetings, Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager.

200

Chuyu, you came just in time.

201

I was just talking with Concubine Ma about some fun things inside the Prince Regent Manor.

202

Fun things?

203

That's right. Only today did I know

204

that you already developed grudges with Prince Regent on your first day in the manor.

205

You even destroyed the wedding bed.

206

Thinking about it now, it's really so funny.

207

Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager, that's what you called 'quarrelsome lovers'.

208

They will be able to live the rest of their lives with such noise and excitement.

209

So great. That is what you called a perfect marriage fate bestowed by the heaven.

210

Chuyu, you are a heavenly beauty.

211

Xueyun is good natured and likable.

212

Prince Regent having you two as members of his household is really his good luck.

213

But I have to really blame this little brother of mine for being unromantic.

214

I heard that he would lock himself up in his study, just having those memorials to keep him company.

215

Don't know when I can finally be an auntie.

216

Too bad. This is really such a pity.

217

His Highness attending to state affairs every day is a good thing.

218

Princess Consort and His Highness are like a zither and se in marital harmony.

219

I'm sure that not long from now, some good news will come.

220

If that's the case, that will be for the best.

221

Empress Dowager, the preparations are done.

222

Come... You two play some cards with me.

223

It's been a long time since I've played. Let's go.

224

Prince Regent! Prince Regent!

225

I heard that Empress Dowager called for your Princess Consort and Concubine to enter the palace for an audience.

226

Princess Consort entering the palace to see the Empress Dowager is part of her duty. Prince Regent,

227

don't worry anymore.

228

You are also Her Lady Majesty Empress Dowager's little brother.

229

Are you even afraid that Her Lady Majesty will eat her up?

230

Or afraid that Princess Consort will cause trouble again?

231

Chuyu will never actively cause trouble.

232

Only troubles coming to her.

233

Concubine is just by her side taking care of Princess Consort. What trouble can happen?

234

Just be at ease. Just go fetch her later,

235

after the morning court. I guarantee that she'll still be intact.

236

Prince Regent really loves your wife dearly.

237

Can't bear to separate from her even for a moment.

239

Chuyu, what's wrong?

240

Princess Consort, this leaf cards came from Liu Song.

241

It is also very popular here in Wei. Don't you know how to play it?

242

I rarely play such things before.

243

I even am bewildered on why is it called leaf cards.

244

Does it look like a leaf?

245

Did I make a joke out of myself?

246

When I started learning how to play leaf cards, that's also what I thought.

247

But afterwards, I learned that the books of Song people is usually by scrolls.

248

To make it convenient to read them, they like to place some small papers behind the scrolls.

249

These papers are called leaf frames.

250

Look at these cards. They look like leaf frames.

251

That's why, it got that name.

252

Concubine Ma, you're really knowledgeable.

253

Not only Xueyun very knowledgeable,

254

she's good in zither, chess, books, and drawings.

255

Also, she can conveniently tell you about local customs and practices, the classical stories and legends of different places.

256

You don't know that when she joins the annual Pingcheng Poetry Society Gathering,

257

that elegant demeanor of hers won her heartfelt admiration.

258

Those are just measly matters.

259

Just to idle my time away. Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager, you have overpraised me.

260

Your Lady Majesty, it's your turn.

261

Leopard! I won!

262

That's right, Your Lady Majesty, you've won.

263

One more time. Let's play one more round.

264

Xueyun, your card skills are not as they used to be.

265

Your Lady Majesty, don't you know that there's a new way of playing leaf cards now?

266

What new way?

267

The leaves getting changed into precious elephant teeth. The method has also changed.

268

If Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager is interested, I can tell you about it.

269

It's just that elephant teeth are precious items. Only one was sent into the palace.

270

Who did Concubine Ma give it to? I'll go get it.

271

Only one was gifted to His Majesty. His Majesty seemed to have granted it to Guiren Feng.

272

Senior Maid Qin, go and get it.

273

In passing, take those newly delivered loquat extracts to her.

274

That thing is too fragrant. I have no use for it.

275

Guiren Feng surely will love it.

276

- Yes.

- Thank you for Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager's kindness.

277

It's just that I won't bother Senior Maid Qin anymore.

278

It's quite embarrassing to ask for an item back after already giving it out.

279

I heard that Princess Consort and Guiren Feng are quite close.

280

May I ask Princess Consort to go with me there, instead?

281

That's good too. Chuyu, go with Xueyun then.

282

Princess Consort kept being quiet today.

283

Did I do anything wrong that angered you?

284

- Of course not.

- Why then?

285

I just feel like I don't know this you right now.

286

I don't seem to understand what you said.

287

Look at you. Gentle, warm, and intelligent.

288

There must be a lot of people who likes you.

289

Compared to the harsh and envious you that I know of,

290

it's like two totally different people.

291

Princess Consort, these are just minor tricks.

292

It's not worthy to be performed on stage.

293

Love changed you.

294

Before, I also thought that learning these

295

can help me win my lover's heart.

296

But only now did I realize

297

that I have nothing from start to end.

298

I didn't obtain anything.

299

You just loved someone too much that you completely lost yourself.

300

Is that it?

301

Feifeng General, how do you train people

302

that all of them ended up getting driven away?

303

Your Majesty, they were not driven away. They got scared and ran away.

304

I then really am quite curious.

305

To what level must you reach before you're able to scare away a group of young and strong built lad.

306

Why don't you tell me about it?

307

I also didn't do much.

308

Other than letting them running around the wild lands, doing some survival training,

309

I would throw them into the city moat and ask them to swim back.

310

Sometimes, I would also tell them to try and tie themselves up and roll down the mountain.

311

General Huo, you think they are sacks

312

and can roll down the mountain?

313

- What roll? This clearly is deliberate torture.

- That's right.

314

Those people are young talents that His Majesty meticulously picked.

315

Can you just torment them like that?

316

Prince Regent, you even submitted a memorial in defense of Huo Xuan.

317

Look at what she did. No wonder Old Grand Tutor was so angry.

318

If she keep training them like this, all the young nobility of Pingcheng

319

will turn cripple because of her.

320

Your Majesty, which soldiers before didn't train like that?

321

When I was 12, my father threw me in the borders and didn't even left me a dime.

322

I had to walk home all the way from there.

323

When I arrived at Pingcheng, who recognized me as Huo Xuan?

324

They all thought that I was a beggar.

325

A training like that done every 6 months, even a woman like me got used to it,

326

while they are all huge men that kept complaining.

327

Even if I don't drive them away, they all will just end up as useless trashes.

328

Only you can dare to talk wildly while in court.

329

You're sure that I won't punish you, is that it?

330

If you anger me, I'll punish you to be immediately be married off by tomorrow and never allowed to enter the battlefield again.

331

If Your Majesty will grant me marriage, I'm fine with it.

332

But for the husband choice, I must be the one to choose it.

333

Your Majesty, we should talk about official matters now.

334

About the unrest in Bianzhou, I've already thought of a way to handle it.

335

Princess Consort, I have something that I want to talk with you in private.

336

It's already Yuehua (Moonlight) Palace in front.

337

Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager is still waiting for us. If there's anything, let's just talk about it once we get back home.

338

No.

339

This matter is very important.

340

It might concern His Highness' safety.

341

What really do you want to say?

342

After Princess Consort hears it, you surely will be interested.

343

You two go to Yuehua Palace first.

344

Yes.

345

Such majestic scenery,

346

right?

347

You said that this matter concerns Prince Regent.

348

What really is it?

349

This matter is quite long,

350

but is very simple.

351

His Highness treated me very well.

352

This was just a mutual agreement.

353

Agreement?

354

Yes.

355

I'll give him the support of the Ma clan, while he help me attain glory and splendor.

356

But you are already the precious pearl of the Chancellor.

357

That is way not enough.

358

I've exerted so much.

359

My husband must then be the number one person in the world.

360

I actually should thank him.

361

He never lied to me.

362

This initially was a perfect deal.

363

Too bad, I eventually fell in love with him.

364

I initially thought that love and power won't clash.

365

As long as I kept following him, one day,

366

he will turn around and look at me.

367

Only now did I know

368

that a love with invested interests from the start

369

will never be wonderful.

370

I don't know that things are like that.

371

But love is not an item that can be exchanged.

372

Yes. I understand that now.

373

But there are so many beautiful women in Pingcheng.

374

How come he just have to like you?!

375

Are you done talking? If you are, I'm leaving then.

376

Stop right there!

377

Liu Chuyu, you traveled far to Pingcheng from Liu Song.

378

You married His Highness on the same day as me.

379

How come I just can't see anything on you that's worthy for him to be reluctant to part with?

380

I'm curious. I'm really very curious.

381

Can you tell me

382

why he'd rather love you than choose me?

383

Ma Xueyun, let me tell you.

384

One's life is not all about love. You are so outstanding.

385

How come you just can't choose to put everything down and live a more relaxed life?

386

Do you know that I went to his study yesterday to visit him.

387

I begged him, I earnestly begged him to hug me again.

388

- Hug me one more time.

- He refused.

389

His eyes were full of resistance!

390

I don't understand.

391

He was able to discuss interests with me then because he has no apprehensions.

392

But when he has really fallen in love, he can't be that unaffected anymore.

393

His will and body will unconsciously make a choice first.

394

Which means that after he fell in love with you,

395

he has now way to feign civility with me anymore.

396

Saying it in that manner, can you now understand me?

397

You're saying that he loves me, but he never told me that.

398

Yes. He won't admit it.

399

But I just know it,

400

because I'm looking at him for every second, every minute.

401

Looking at him falling in love with you. Do you understand?

402

Can you understand my feelings? Do you?! Do you?!

403

What are you doing?!

404

Timing and Subtitles carefully crafted by the MEI DAXIA Team at viki.com

405

What's going on? What did you do?

406

Have you forgotten those leaf cards?

407

You are a newbie.

408

That's why, you will involuntarily bite your fingernail.

409

I just placed something on it.

410

You just loved doing these evil schemes.

411

If I am Rong Zhi, I will also not like a—

412

You!

413

Not like me?

414

It's fine.

415

But I hate you!

416

I hate you to the point that I can't sleep and eat!

417

If there's no you,

418

even if His Highness doesn't love me, he'll give me tender affection for a lifetime.

419

But how come he just have to choose someone who is nothing like you

420

among thousands of people?!

421

You can't even understand his grand ambition.

422

And even increased his enemies.

423

The Heaven really loves to play with people.

424

So funny.

425

That's useless.

426

- The bone softening powder has already taken effect.

- What really do you want?!

427

Me?

428

As long as you're dead...

429

- As long as you're dead,

- Let go of me.

430

- His Highness will then return to my side.

- Let go of me!

431

Go die!

432

No...

433

I've read your memorial.

434

I'll leave the pacification of the unrest to you.

435

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

436

Your Majesty, something bad has happened!

437

Prince Regent's Wife...she...

438

What happened to Chuyu?!

439

Move aside!

440

Xueyun! Xueyun!

441

Imperial Physician, how is she?

442

Xueyun, I'm here.

443

- Your Highness...

- I'm here.

444

I really love you.

445

I know. I know them all.

446

Sorry...

447

I don't blame Princess Consort.

448

She just hates me.

449

- She just hates me so much.

- Xueyun...

450

Xueyun...

451

Xueyun! Xueyun!

452

Xueyun...

453

Xueyun...

454

Xueyun.

455

Xueyun, she...

456

Xueyun...

457

This...what happened?!

458

Xueyun?

459

Get lost!

460

Xueyun...

461

Xueyun, don't be like this. Xueyun...

462

Xueyun, don't be like this...

463

What happened to you, Xueyun?

464

Xueyun...

465

Royal Mother, why did you come here?

466

What's going on?

467

Wasn't she still chatting and laughing earlier?

468

Hurry and escort Empress Dowager back.

469

- Yes.

- No need. I want to personally see

470

what really has happened here.

471

Chancellor Ma, Ma Xueyun just fell like that.

472

What's important now is not to grieve.

473

We have to catch the perpetrator first.

474

Liu Chuyu...

475

Liu Chuyu!

476

- Give me back my daughter!

- Servant!

477

Give me back my daughter!

478

- I didn't kill anyone!

- Give my daughter's life back!

479

- I didn't kill anyone!

- Give my daughter's life back!

480

I didn't kill her! It wasn't me!

481

- Liu Chuyu!

- I didn't kill anyone!

482

- Chancellor Ma!

- I didn't kill anyone!

483

I didn't kill anyone...

484

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

485

I beg Your Majesty to give me justice.

486

Give my daughter justice.

487

Your Majesty...

488

Your Majesty, let's just go to Taihua palace and interrogate this case clearly.

489

Go and call my Royal Mother.

490

I didn't kill anyone.

491

Prince Regent's Wife, Chancellor Ma indeed fell from the tower.

492

I didn't push her.

493

That time, only you and her were on top of the tower.

494

If it wasn't you, who can it be then?

495

She jumped on her own.

496

What did you say?

497

I said that she committed suicide.

498

That time, I thought she wanted to kill me.

499

I still haven't reacted and she already jumped down by herself.

500

Prince Regent's Wife, are you joking with us?

501

What I said is the truth. Not one word is a lie.

502

Prince Regent's Wife, you're saying that Chancellor Ma acted as if she was about to push you down?

503

But in the end, not only did she not do it,

504

she instead jumped down herself.

505

Doesn't that sound absurd?

506

Imperial Consort Dowager Qi, His Majesty hasn't talked yet.

507

Just be at ease and listen.

508

Your Majesty, I rushed towards here because I was concerned about this matter.

509

After listening to her words, I find it funny.

510

They totally don't make sense.

511

If I'm you, I won't make up lies that's full of lapses.

512

I will instead say that Chancellor Ma tried to push me.

513

But she got careless and slipped off herself.

514

What I said is the truth.

515

You all don't believe me, am I right?

516

Not that everyone doesn't believe you. It's just that this matter to very strange.

517

Ma Xueyun is a very weak lady, while you have some martial arts skills.

518

Against a martial arts master, you indeed can't win. But against a weak lady, it's already excessive.

519

How come Chancellor Ma risked danger to attack you? How can she get the upperhand?

520

Leaf cards. There's a problem with the leaf cards.

521

Leaf cards?

522

Ma Xueyun knew that I love to bite my fingernail when I get nervous.

523

That's why, she admitted to me that she did something with the leaf cards.

524

Immediately bring them here.

525

Yes.

526

What about it?

527

Replying to Empress Dowager, I didn't find anything wrong with the leaf cards.

528

Leave first.

529

Yes.

530

Your Lady Majesty Empress Dowager, that's impossible.

531

It's possible.

532

How can it be?

533

How come it can't be traced even if it was tampered with?

534

Prince Regent's Wife, there are so many ways to tamper with things. If she really used bone softening powder,

535

once it gets expose to air (volatile), it basically will be gone. How then are we going to investigate it?

536

Even within your body, once the effect is gone, we also can't trace it anymore.

537

Huo Xuan, stop finding excuses for her.

538

What leaf cards? What bone softening powder?

539

All these are just her excuses to cover up her crime of pushing Concubine Ma off the tower.

540

Can't everyone understand it still?

541

She just want to make herself look like the victim

542

and get everyone's pity.

543

Moreover, Concubine Ma is unfortunately dead now.

544

That time, there are no other people on that tower.

545

Won't she have the leeway to just say anything that she wants?

546

I didn't. Your Majesty, I really didn't do it.

547

But I know that saying it like that, you all surely won't believe me.

548

But that is really the truth.

549

The matter is like this. Ma Xueyun brought me up the tower.

550

After saying a few words, she started attacking me.

551

Because my body was so weak, I almost got pushed down by her.

552

But in the end, she jumped down right in front of me.

553

Your Lady Highness Empress Dowager, let me ask you this.

554

When Concubine Ma left the Xuanguang Palace, how did she look like?

555

Before Concubine Ma left my palace,

556

she was still in high spirits and all smiles.

557

Did you all hear that?!

558

Her Lady Majesty Empress Dowager has already proved

559

that there is no possibility that Concubine Ma will commit suicide.

560

That is because she knew that if she pushed me off the tower, she won't be able to deny her involvement with this.

561

That's why, she rather just stake her life and doom me.

562

Enough!

563

Your Majesty, who is Liu Chuyu?

564

She's the high and noble Liu Song princess.

565

Then is my daughter just a mere nobody.

566

All my life, I have been cautious and conscientious for Wei, gave extreme devotion to my work.

567

If Liu Chuyu wants to kill anyone, just kill me.

568

I'll extend my neck and let her kill me.

569

But the person she killed is my daughter. I only have one daughter, Your Majesty.

570

I beg Your Majesty to give me justice.

571

Give my daughter justice.

572

Your Majesty.

573

When the king commits a crime, he should be punished similarly as the ordinary citizens.

574

Even if she's the Prince Regent's Wife, she shouldn't be allowed to escape punishment.

575

Moreover, Concubine Ma is Chancellor Ma's only daughter

576

and the 'Secondary Princess Consort' of the Prince Regent Manor, not just some concubine without ranks.

577

If we are unable to give Chancellor Ma a fair decision,

578

I fear that it will disappoint the heart of a loyal subject.

579

- You—

- Huo Xuan.

580

Rong Zhi, even you don't believe me?

581

I really didn't kill anyone.

582

Your Majesty, this matter concerns the dignity of the imperial family.

583

You must not selectively listen to one side only. May Your Majesty handle it carefully.

584

Your Majesty, Prince Regent's Wife has a simple temperament.

585

I can vouch that it's impossible for her to kill anyone.

586

Your Majesty, you must investigate this well.

587

Empress Dowager! My daughter is dead! How are you still going to investigate this?!

588

Unless Empress Dowager plans to defend the Liu Song princess?

589

Unruly!

590

Chancellor Ma, I understand that you're painfully grieving for your daughter's death.

591

But don't forget the proper decorum.

592

I only have one daughter. Now that she's dead,

593

I also don't want to live anymore.

594

If Your Majesty wants to punish me for what I've done,

595

I beg Your Majesty to just punish me to die.

596

Enough! Stop it already.

597

All your quarreling is making my head ache.

598

Lock Prince Regent's Wife first and we'll discuss this later.

599

Empress Dowager!

600

All of you, leave!

601

I didn't kill anyone! Rong Zhi, I didn't kill anyone!

602

Rong Zhi, I really didn't kill anyone!

603

Rong Zhi, I really didn't kill anyone!

604

Your Majesty, I didn't kill anyone!

605

Qingyue, are you crying?

606

Don't worry. Your Princess Consort

607

will be alright.

608

Take it.

609

Look at you. You're already a lady.

610

How come you're still like a child? You're looking like a patterned cat already.

611

It's none of your business.

612

Are you angry because Shen Yu hindered you to save her?

613

After being here in Pingcheng for so long, you should already know

614

that this is Wei and not Liu Song.

615

You must not be rash.

616

With Prince Regent and our general around,

617

No matter how difficult the problem is, we can get past it.

618

I'm making you that guarantee.

619

Rong Zhi. Rong Zhi, I really didn't kill anyone.

620

Do you believe me?

621

I believe you!

622

General Huo, you're also here.

623

We don't have much time. Tell us what really happened that time.

624

Okay. I'll tell it to you two.

625

That time, it was like this.

626

Let go of me! Let go...

627

Let go...

628

Princess Consort, looks like you are very afraid to die.

629

But don't worry. I was just scaring you.

630

From the start, I don't really plan to push you off here.

631

You're crazy!

632

You all say that I'm insane.

633

But how come I feel that you all are the crazy ones?

634

You praise yourself for being able to clearly distinguish kindness from grudges, just following one's inclinations,

635

but you're unable to get rid of righteousness and duties.

636

You sacrificed yourself to come here for a marriage alliance. This is like a chain.

637

Tightly binding around your throat.

638

You people are the ones who are truly crazy!

639

I'm different with you all.

640

Everything that I did was to obtain the love of His Highness.

641

From now on,

642

in this lifetime, His Highness will never forget me anymore.

643

He will never forget me again.

644

- What do you think?
