The Love Lasts Two Minds

Episode 12

Wait!

You can go.

I did what you told me

I led Yuan to Hanqiu Slope

to kill her,

which would surely bring Marquis Duan there

and then I’ll kill him too.

But what I didn’t expect

is that Marquis Duan came earlier than I expected

who’s skilled in fighting

with some martial masters helping him.

That’s why I failed.

Fen Lou was killed by Marquis Duan too.

You can’t even accomplish such a task!

I am incapable.

Please punish me.

Who is it?

Follow him!

Yes, sir.

senior fellow apprentice?

Wait.

This feels abnormal.

We are always discreet.

If we were lured away by the enemy

and did something incautiously,

Our master might be injured.

But we can’t let them escape.

You stay here to protect our master,

I’ll follow him.

Luckily no suspicion is aroused.

Hope you will no longer

come for me

Where is he?

We can’t follow them.

He is too strong.

My injury from last night

gave him the chance

to escape.

Did you see what he looks like?

No.

But he does not feel like someone from the government.

There are many martial masters hidden Qin HeQinhe,

and he is one of them.

I was careless.

Never mind.

Go back and rest.

Remember,

next time you meet him,

you have to be careful

and do not make any mistake again.

You didn’t kill Marquis Duan this time,

he will definitely be prepared.

So leave him for now.

Assemble more forces to Qin HeQinhe

to keep an eye on all the main streets

to the side courthouse of the Palace of He.

Yes, sir.

They are coming.

Let’s go.

Master

Sheriff Jing

Sir, we are here.

Master

Here you are, finally.

Lord junior,

Lu told me

you went into the mountain overnight

I was terrified.

If I had known you would come to help

I would rush here to help

no matter what would happen.

How are you,

Lord junior?

Are you hurt?

Are you tired?

I

I am fine.

I am fine.

I’m not hurt.

Great, great indeed.

Yuan

wait for me.

Lord junior

After resting for quite some time,

I feel a bit better now finally.

But we tried so hard

yet got no clue last night.

My young lady,

You almost died

and all you think about is to find the killer.

Of course.

As a captor,

I have the duty to protect this region.

I can’t allow the killer to be at large.

But I always feel

we were very close to the truth at some point.

Maybe we ignored something.

It smells so good.

Smells like

someone is stewing pheasant soup.

My lady,

maybe it’s because you want pheasant soup so badly.

It is the smell of pheasant soup.

Did you tell the cook

that I wanted pheasant soup?

And she made it for us.

No way.

Pheasant is too expensive.

The one I bought before was wasted

and I don’t have the money to buy a second one.

Someone is making soup.

Why does it smell so good?

I never smelled such a good chicken soup before.

Really?

I think I did,

and

I did for many times.

Smells so good.

Sheriff Jing,

you are a master of chef too!

Smells really good.

The soup has splendid color, smell and taste. Bravo!

Only two sets of bowls and chopsticks?

Our lord junior will join us too.

I’ll get more.

Hold your mouth water.

Don’t drip it into my soup.

That’s strange.

This scene

feels so familiar.

The soup

tastes familiar too.

What else do I need for the soup?

Lord junior

I told you to leave it to me.

Lu said

You want pheasant soup

When did I say that?

You didn’t?

You don’t want the soup?

Yes.

Yes, I do.

Yeah

I told him

that you want pheasant soup.

I want it too.

I want the soup too

so I made a bit more.

The soup tastes so good.

Lord junior,

why don’t you drink it?

You don’t like it?

If you don’t,

I can drink it for you.

No

I like it.

It tastes great.

Why are your eyes red?

Cause the soup is so good

that it makes me want to cry.

Why do I feel so bad and want to cry

when I have this soup?

But Lu said

I shouldn’t know him before.

Or maybe

I know him

but Lu doesn’t know.

What is lost in my memory?

Go together

Yanxi,

where have you been?

I went out for buying medicinal ingredients in the morning.

What’s the matter?

Is this

yours?

I lost it at some point somewhere.

It’s you who found it.

Thank you.

Wait.

Don’t you want to know

where I found it?

Where?

Hanqiu Slope

where even no ghost can be found

at night.

Aren’t you gonna explain to me

why you went there?

Hanqiu Slope isn’t some

forbidden place.

Maybe

He lost it there before

and you happened to find it.

It’s not a big deal.

It’s not your business.

Zuo Yanxi,

you are here today and gone tomorrow,

What on earth are you up to?

You were there when Fu Manqing was killed.

Yuan suspected you

but I chose to believe you.

But now

you become

so suspicious.

Don’t forget

you are my father’s foster son.

You behavior

represents my father.

Do not cause trouble to the Palace of He.

Trust me, Beiyan.

I won’t do anything to disgrace the Palace of He.

I know you don’t get along well with Yanxi,

but you don’t have to do that.

Look, Mr. Hao

doesn’t like me either.

But I’ll never make a fuss about it.

I just deal with him

with some fake smiles.

[Palace of Xingde]

Who would’ve thought

Qin HeQinhe can be so bustling.

Indeed

Apparently now in Qin HeQinhe

there are some forces playing games with each other in secret

which has no visibility.

I’ve heard that Mr. Jing has met more than one assassins

soon as he came to Qin HeQinhe.

He was suffering from illness

and suffered more from this time.

I wonder if he can manage it.

With his intelligence,

no matter what kind of mess he is in,

as long as he stays calm,

he can always find a way to protect himself

and even hold the whole situation.

The one who tried to assassinate him must be bold enough

to manipulate him.

But I tutored Ci myself.

I know his competence

better than anyone.

This won’t be a problem for him.

But

the one who can disturb him most

should be in Qin HeQinhe now.

Yes.

Her name is Yuan.

She is a captor.

Do you think

she is Yuan Qingli

or Feng Mianwan?

My lord,

I don’t know.

No matter who she is,

I can’t let her have a hold on Ci.

Isn’t Zhixia always

concerned about Ci?

Tell her

Ci had his foot disease back again.

Let her and Heng go to Qin HeQinhe

to take care of Ci.

Yes, sir.

Why are you so absent-minded?

You looked upset

when you were drinking the soup.

Is it because of

the poison?

No,

I

was thinking about something.

What is it?

I was thinking

what I forgot.

But I couldn’t remember it.

Then don’t.

Let the bygones be bygones.

It’s not that important.

What is important

is what we should do now.

Which path should we choose for the future.

Now?

Now

I just want to

find out

who killed Fu Manqing

and Yu.

As long as I found the killer,

then why

Zhige killed elder princessElder Princess

and why Yu

had their little fingers cut

should come out too.

But have you ever thought that

the secret behind all those

might be more than you can handle

as a mere captor?

I’ll continue my survey anyway.

I have the job here,

then it’s my duty to protect Qin HeQinhe.

I can never let those innocent people

die in vain.

I’ll keep looking into

those cases.

If there are some people behind the curtain,

I’ll certainly arrest all of them

to relief the deceased’s’ soul

and restore the world’s peace.

Good.

You mean my deduction is good?

I mean who you are is good.

You mean I’m good?

You mean

Sorry

I

hurried to tell her to have dinner.

No worries.

Sheriff Jing, you have a good taste.

The little ducks on your pouch

is a beautiful embroidery.

Beautiful!

It’s mandarin duck.

Mandarin duck?

This is mandarin duck?

If you say so,

then surely it is.

No wonder my lord junior cannot tell,

the embroidery work is a bit…

I have an idea.

My lord junior is good at embroidery.

If he does the job,

it will look much much better than this one.

You know how to make mandarin duck pouch too

and you can do a decent job.

My lady,

he’s asking you for a mandarin duck pouch!

He just asked me if I know how to make it.

He asked you if you know how to make it?

What’s wrong with you my lady?

Sheriff Jing is a bashful man.

He won’t ask you to give him one directly.

What he said

means he wants one from you.

Is that so?

A man asks for a pouch from a woman,

and a pouch made by the woman,

what can that mean?

A token of love?

Really?

But

do I know how?

Fire!

Help!

Help! Fire! Fire!

Hurry up!

Help!

Put out the fire!

Come and help!

What happened?

Your highness,

your highness,

a camp caught fire!

What?

Put out the fire!

Yes, sir.

Send a few to the dam.

We have all the materials for the dam there.

That place is more important.

Nothing can go wrong there.

Yes, sir.

Your highness,

Prince HaoLord Bo, bad news.

The camp by the river caught fire

and it’s growing fiercely

with the strong wind.

The bridge truss

and trees along riverside are all on fire.

The fire will reach

the dam soon, your highness.

What?

The banks on both side are wet

and it just rained.

How can there be fire?

I

I don’t know, sir.

I’m looking into it.

The fire cannot reach the dam!

What are you doing here?

Pass the order!

Everyone in the battalion, regardless of their title,

must go and fight the fire.

If the dam is destroyed,

your head won’t be on your neck.

Yes, sir.

Everyone, go to put out the fire!

Guard!

It’s just as Marquis expected.

Stop running!

Sheriff Jing, you have a good taste.

The little ducks on your pouch

is a beautiful embroidery.

Beautiful!

It’s mandarin duck.

Mandarin duck?

This is mandarin duck?

If you say so,

then surely it is.

Sir,

something happened.

What is it?

I went to

the camp by the river to check on Prince HaoLord Bo,

and suddenly the construction caught fire.

Someone assassinated Prince HaoLord Bo

when everybody was busy at firefighting

and no one was in the camp.

So you helped.

How did you know?

If you didn’t help,

we should be discussing

the death of Prince HaoLord Bo.

Forgive me, sir.

I was reckless.

Of course you should help.

Did you find anything?

When I was fighting with the assassin,

I noticed his skill was familiar.

Seems that

What?

Seems that it’s similar to

the skills of Dragon and Tiger Army.

But I’m not sure.

It’s just me guessing.

Dragon and Tiger Army is the King’s own army.

There’s no reason for them to assassinate Prince HaoLord Bo.

Prince HaoLord Bo

[Gather Blessing and Extend Joy]

Please forgive me

for not knowing your highness’s coming

and didn’t welcome you from afar.

Teacher, that would be unnecessary.

You are resting at home because of illness

and I shouldn’t come to disturb you.

It’s my fault to disturb you.

You seems quite in a hurry.

Something happened in the government?

Not exactly.

I haven’t been in Qin HeQinhe for too long.

All I wanted is to build the dam as the King told me.

But I’ve been set up by someone.

Really?

Sit down please and tell me the whole story.

Sure.

That assassin

even used oil to fuel the fire

and burnt down the dam overnight.

I’ve just came to Qin HeQinhe,

and made such a huge mistake

without achieving anything,

earning myself the crime

of scourging people and ruining causes.

Don’t worry your highness.

You don’t need to report it now.

We’ll make up things in secret.

I’ll send some people

at your service.

Teacher, there’s something you don’t know.

There are people standing against

the construction of dam.

We were short of money at the first place.

With this happened, how can I have the money to cover it?

And I feel that assassin

wanted not only to kill me,

but to put crimes on me too

so that I’ll die without a funeral.

Your highness,

you don’t have much power

since you are not here for long.

Naturally some people will take some actions.

Those wicked bastards

with all the filthy dirty work.

I shall never let them win.

As forthright as you are,

surely you won’t be afraid of the wicked.

But with this happened,

what I worry about most

is that if the king knows about it,

he might punish you.

Indeed.

Then,

what should I do?

I have a solution.

Plain and simple.

Find a scapegoat.

A scapegoat?

Your highness,

you can say that when you came to Qin HeQinhe,

you noticed people did shoddy work

and used inferior materials.

You were worried that if the flood becomes more severe,

it will kill more lives.

So you burnt down the dam in a fury of grief

as a warning.

The king loves his people.

I’m sure he won’t punish you.

This is indeed a good idea.

As for the scapegoat,

before you came,

the government sent a doctor to supervise the dam construction.

He’ll have to take the job.

Alright,

I’ll think about

how to handle and cover the whole thing.

[Precious Jade Presents Peace]

Have a look

at the latest hairpin!

What a beautiful girl!

Come and have a look!

It’s the latest.

Look back.

She’s so beautiful.

Gorgeous.

This is the Lady Yuan

who fascinates men’s heart

with her breathtaking beauty.

The men’s clothing can do its job.

Why bother to change it?

I am the captor of Qin HeQinhe.

If

people recognize me,

it must be humiliating.

No way.

With such a beautiful dress,

No one should recognize you.

I just wanted to buy

some cloth and sewing.

Is it really necessary

to change the dress?

You are buying the materials to make Sheriff a pouch.

It is a love of token.

A precious gift.

Do you want me to pick it for you?

Or you dress like a man

and buy sewing

as a captor?

Make sense.

I had his soup,

so I should give him a pouch

picked and made by myself

as a token of my regard.

Yes.

Lu,

do I really know how to make a pouch?

Are you sure?

My lady, you can.

You are one of the best embroider experts in the city.

The painting of mountains you embroidered

was praised even by the king.

But

I have no idea

what I should do.

Don’t worry.

As long as cloth and sewing are in your hands,

you will be able to make it.

[Eatery]

Guests,

how many of you are here?

Where is your landlady?

She’s out.

She might take a while.

You need her?

I’ll wait for her.

[Noodles]

Then please take a seat.

[Eatery]

[Flower & Moon]

Isn’t that Mr. Zuo?

He’s here for dinning too?

Sheriff Jing trusts him.

But I always have the feeling that

he has something to do with

The case of Fu Manqin.

If he wasn’t the foster son of Prince He,

or if the Sheriff Jing didn’t trust him that much,

he should’ve been caught

instead of being at large.

But he does not look well.

Maybe he’s the real murderer

who feels guilty of

having a meal across Flower & Moon?

What did you say?

I was saying he does not looks well,

maybe he’s the real murderer

and he feel guilty.

No,

the second part.

Having a meal across Flower & Moon?

[Flower & Moon]

What about it?

I heard that

when Fu Manqing was identifying the murderer,

she pointed out of the window.

Who killed you?

It’s him.

Who?

Him.

We suspected that

the killer was someone she knew.

That’s why he would escape from the window.

But maybe

she was pointing at here.

[Eatery]

Maybe

it’s someone from here.

My lady,

are you suspecting Zuo Yanxi

or someone in the eatery?

Don’t forget

we met the trader who guided us to Hanqiu Slope

in this eatery too.

We had the random idea of going to that eatery.

Is it a mere coincidence?

They are waiting here

setting up a trap for us.

Lu, let’s go.

Go.

No,

I haven’t finished yet.

So you mean

only if someone in the eatery

who saw us coming here

could make the arrangement immediately.

No matter it’s Zuo Yanxi

or people in the eatery,

I should have a word with them.

My lady,

you are wearing a dress.

So what?

Case is the priority.

Besides,

Zuo Yanxi is Sheriff’s close friend,

maybe he knows already.

Sir,

Captor is wearing woman’s dress

and somehow she’s tagging along with you.

Let’s go.

Don’t run, Zuo Yanxi!

Is that woman the murderer?

Sir,

did she have some misunderstanding?

She always suspects me of the murder.

I happened to find some clue.

I don’t have time to waste with her.

Draw her away.

Yes, sir.

My…

Wait,

I should ask Sheriff for help.

My lady is wearing a dress now.

She will definitely feel happy

to see Sheriff coming for help.

Let’s do this.

[LongJoy Casino]

[Shuxin Hospital]

[Shuxin Hospital]

That girl is with Zuo Yanxi.

She must’ve went in.

[Medicine]

Did you see a girl

with a veil coming in?

Ma’am,

I was weighing the medicine,

and didn’t pay attention.

Runs the monk but not the temple.

She is with Zuo Yanxi.

She disappeared

but Zuo Yanxi will come back anyway.

I’ll wait him inside.

Ma’am,

please make an appointment first

if you want to see the doctor,

and come again when the doctor is available.

No need.

With my friendship with the doctor,

I don’t need to make appointment.

You do look familiar,

maybe you are his close friend.

ma’am.

Miss Xin.

Who are you?

You look familiar?

I forgot I was wearing a dress.

I visited Mr. Zuo before.

It’s you who made tea for me

in the side hall.

The doctor

has a lot of visitors every day.

You must’ve forgotten me.

Are you here for the doctor?

But he’s

not in the hospital at the moment.

No?

He didn’t say when he’ll be back.

Would you like to wait in the side hall first?

Thank you, that would be great.

From the elder princessElder Princess

to Fu Manqing,

do you really think there’s no flaw?

I don’t want to do anything to you,

and I don’t want Marquis Duan to do anything to you, either.

Leave this place, now.

I’ll wait you by the riverside out of the west town.

Wu,

Pack your things and leave here.

Yes, sir.

[Meeting Room]

Sheriff Jing,

Hurry up.

Go and help my master.

Help him?

What happened to him?

I was out with the master to buy sewin..

to buy something.

He saw Dr.Doctor Zuo

in the eatery

He started to suspected him

and people in the eatery,

so he went straight to arrest them.

Then Doctor Dr. Zuo ran away

with a lady in veil.

Yuan is now suspecting

Zuo Yanxi?

And Zuo Yanxi ran away?

My master has gone after them.

They are martial experts,

and I’m not a faster runner,

so…

Do you know why

Yuan suspected Zuo Yanxi?

According to what master said,

seems that

Fu Manqing was pointing at

the eatery

before she died.

Eatery?

Someone Fu Manqing knows?

The black cat Yu took back from street

The trader met in the eatery

Is that lady with a veil

from the eatery?

Not likely.

She went into the eatery.

Oh,

she has a whip with her.

so she must be a martial expert.

Is she Han?

Why would Yuan suspect her and Yanxi
