Oh My General

Sis Jiyu.

I wonder

whether that Contraception Prescription is toxic.

What, Contraception Prescription, Conception Prescription.

You make me so confused!

Did you give your general some other prescription?

Contraception medicine?

Vile wretch!

I gotta slap you to death!

Mrs. Yang?

Mrs. Yang...

She's dead.

You ignorant woman.

How dare you damage my plan?

I meant to help you.

This is a slow poison that causes cardiac failure.

If it were someone else,

she would be dead already!

Mrs. Yang...

Mrs. Yang was...

Too vicious.

I was wrong and blind.

Because I kept...

Such a heinous villain.

In the future, we should

live a happy family life together.

Don't let those vile people sow dissension among us.

-What are you doing? -What's up?

Just leave.

My lord. General.

He's a crazy mute.

You're Little Sparrow?

How did you end up like this?

Lord Qi colludes with Western Xia to rebel.

It's cousin Xiyin's.

What kind of person lord Qi is?

He's his majesty's half-blooded brother.

How could such a man

think of rebelling?

Just based on a handkerchief,

a mute,

how could we know the thing is true?

Episode 42

Song not only fosters such a heroic woman as Ye Zhao, but also such a tender woman as Xian Nichang.

One is so doughty; the other is so soft.

That's to say.

Song is really good.

General Ye is like a lightning in darkness.

Which startles me.

If...

God can give me a chance,

to go to Song,

I'll feel satisfied just taking a look at her.

You gotta go ask Miss Xian, then.

What rules are there in Song?

If you just go visit general Ye so happily like this,

you might offend her.

I heard,

general Ye has been married to the duke Zhao Yujin.

Their tempers and characters are so different.

Besides, in my eyes,

no one in this world can deserve general Ye.

Even if it's your brother Yinuo?

Although my second brother are brave and good at war,

in terms of courage and wisdom,

he's a far cry from general Ye!

Mother.

You haven't seen that.

General Ye was so handsome in the battlefield!

But from her eyes, there shone some nameless affection.

Anyway, since I was born,

I've never seen that from any other heroes.

Alright, I got it.

In your heart, general Ye is a god-like existence.

Silly girl.

Put her away in your heart and cherish her well.

But lately,

you still have to spend more time with Miss Xian.

She just arrived in our Western Xia,

not familiar to this place.

You're about at the same age.

Keep her company.

Also, to help your brother with her.

Understood, mother.

Big brother does have a good taste.

Miss Xian looks so beautiful.

In our Western Xia,

the one who can be her rival,

is only aunt Mozang.

Your majesty.

I woke you up.

Your majesty, what woke you up?

I also don't know why.

Lately,

I always feel hungry at midnight.

Your majesty are busy for days.

Of course you'll feel hungry during midnight.

I'll tell the kitchen right now

to make a mutton soup for your majesty.

Never mind.

Just talk with me.

If I ask for mutton soup tonight,

cooks will see this as a must.

Every night in the future, they'll kill a lamb.

One year later,

hundreds of lambs will be killed.

To kill living creatures just for a bowl of mutton soup.

I don't want to see that.

Your majesty.

You suffer hunger just for a few livestock.

I really feel bad for you.

Now the court suffers internal and external troubles.

I can hardly fall asleep again every time I wake up.

Fan Zhongyan reforms but always meets resistance.

Ye Zhao is brave and fierce.

But retreats to her home because of those civil officials.

In the court, officials cover up for each other.

Few of them are really competent.

The court is the center of power,

also, the center of conflicts.

New parties confront old ones.

Each sticks to their augment, won't concede.

Prime Lv and Grand Preceptor Liu join hands,

listen to lord Qi's in everything.

I've seen that.

But I can't interfere in.

After all.

Lord Qi is my big brother.

I don't want to make it hard for him.

Lord Qi...

Lord Qi comes to see your majesty.

Let him in.

I bow in respect before your majesty.

Rise, brother.

I'm here to ask your majesty

for more reinforcements to Jiangbei.

Jiangbei is Song's first defense against Western Xia all the time.

It's always heavily guarded.

Now we're at peace with Western Xia.

Why do you ask for more reinforcements, brother?

Your majesty don't know that.

Although our Song is at peace with Western Xia now, it never stops harassing us.

Lately,

a small group of soldiers from Western Xia provoked us.

I'm afraid there won't be enough guarding soldiers

for the emergency

if we don't prepare for it now.

Brother, you plan ahead

for the sake of Song's safety.

But the natural barrier between Song and Western Xia

is the Silver Stockade at Juping Pass.

Currently, this barrier should be heavily guarded.

If suddenly transfer the troops to Jiangbei,

people there will get into a panic,

and Western Xia will be alerted.

I'm afraid,

we'll lose more in that way.

Yes. Surely wise, your majesty.

But Jiangbei is my fief.

I'm so worried every day.

I do have thought too much about it.

Brother, I feel so glad

that you share the burden for me.

In fact, days ago,

I really wanted to have some quality time with you. But you're too busy.

Often traveling between Jiangbei and the capital.

It's really hard to see you, brother.

Right, lately I heard,

you collected a batch of...

Beautiful singing girls?

Seeing them singing and dancing every day,

you're as happy as an immortal.

Your majesty know me the best.

Yes.

Jiangbei is full of talents.

Girls are also unique.

Although less decent and enchanting than those in the capital,

they're still very tender.

I'm absorbed into music and beauties.

Sorry if that bothers your majesty.

Not at all.

Brother, you and I

are too close to say that.

Brother.

I get on well with you since we were kids.

If anything worried me,

I would go talk to you.

Lately, I don't know why.

I often can't help but remember when we were kids,

we were so happy and carefree.

Your majesty.

I was wrong. I was wrong.

I'm born rakish. Not so useful.

Failed to share the burden for your majesty.

I'm sorry. Sorry.

Your majesty, you think for our Song.

Have our Song on your shoulders.

You gotta take good care of yourself.

Brother, empress dowager Liu died.

Other siblings all died young or passed away.

Now, except empress dowager Yang,

you're my...

closest family.

Your majesty.

Your majesty, excuse me.

Okay.

Your majesty, a secret letter.

Your majesty... Lord Qi is the man behind Lu Zhenting... has some other bigger plot... From Hu Qing.

Various evidences show that

the viper is get himself ready

to make a move.

Your majesty.

You want us not to alert him?

Or find some way to force him out?

I'm not sure yet.

Whether I shall be a snake catcher

or a farmer who gets bit by the snake.

I gotta think about it.

Before Yang died,

she had some poison in her hands.

Such a solid evidence.

Mrs. Hai can prove that

that day she heard Jiyu and Yang

talking about the contraception medicine behind the rockery.

Jiyu won't admit

that she instructed Yang to poison me.

Instead, she will frame us.

Now Yang is dead.

Won't defend herself.

Just based on Mrs. Hai's words.

Who will believe that?

After all,

lord Qi is his majesty's brother.

They're family.

After empress dowager Liu died,

lord Qi is his majesty's only family.

General!

General! Bad news!

What's the big fuss?

Uncle...

Uncle is here.

Whose uncle?

Who else could there be?

Liu Tiantuo. General Liu!

My uncle is here?

What... What should we do?

Is it because your cousin is missing

and your uncle comes here to punish you?

General.

Luckily, my sister is keeping him company in the hall.

You gotta think about how to cope with him.

What... What should we do?

-Zhao, what should we do? -What else could we do? No matter what.

We gotta see him.

Let's go.

These birds and flowers do look lifelike.

But, here, look at the mountains and rivers.

It's like ink being splashed onto the paper.

Yes.

General also said so. But duke said that's not true.

Duke calls this ink-splashing.

Ink-splashing?

Just splash some ink and then it's done?

The painter is really good at fooling the others. You're really my family, uncle.

That's a penetrating interpretation!

My dear niece!

Uncle.

Uncle, this is your nephew-in-law.

Zhao Yujin.

Greetings, uncle.

You come after a long journey.

It's really our honor.

Qiu Shui.

Make a bottle of nice tea.

Tell the kitchen to make some fine food.

I gotta drink a lot with uncle.

Yes, I'm on it.

Good. Zhao taught him well.

My nephew-in-law

has such good manners.

Where's Xiyin?

Why is she not here?

-She's out for shopping. -She doesn't feel well.

That kid still can't quit the habit of shopping.

Look, since she doesn't feel well, why go out?

Yes.

Uncle.

Anything important brought you here?

There are two things.

The second one first.

Your cousin Xiyin's marriage.

How are you guys doing with the bride selection? Which family is the man from?

When shall Xiyin get married?

What about the first thing?

The first thing, of course,

my return to the capital as commanded by his majesty.

Niece, you're a woman after all.

His majesty removed your military leadership for your good.

I've guarded Juping Pass for years.

Protecting our Song's border so earnestly.

I just felt that I'm a little old.

Holding the sword gives me a sore waist.

And his majesty happened to tell me to return here.

To take over military affairs for you.

What's your post?

Why didn't I know it?

Uncle, you've had a tiring trip all the way here.

Let's go have a rest over there.

I have good wine worthy of thirty years.

We can talk later over the wine.

Sounds nice.

I do feel a little tired.

Good wine will help me refresh myself.

Please.

You gotta answer for what you did by yourself.

Uncle, come.

Try this wine.

It's the best among our wine in storage.

Zhao.

You've found yourself a nice husband!

He's not only pretty,

but also tender and helpful.

Most importantly, he's literate and polite.

Thanks for that, uncle.

Here, let me give you another toast.

Uncle, his majesty summoned you back here,

such an important thing,

why did I have no idea?

Don't mention that.

We better talk about your cousin's marriage first.

Cousin hasn't come back from shopping till now.

I think she must have gone to her friend's home.

Shopping?

Stays outside so late at night?

Won't come back even her uncle is here?

Uncle.

Come, eat and drink.

Zhao always mentioned your heroic deeds to me.

I really admire you for that.

Admire me?

Admire me?

I gotta make you show that to me.

-Show that to me. -Uncle!

Uncle, what are you doing?

Uncle, why did you get mad so suddenly?

You said she's out for shopping.

You said she doesn't feel well.

Did you take me as an idiot?

If you don't tell me where Xiyin is,

I'll skin you alive!

Uncle, it's all my fault.

Yujin is innocent.

Tell me, what on earth happened to Xiyin?

After Xiyin came here,

some things happened.

CHANGFENG YARD

You bastard!

Your cousin must be blind to fall for you!

I... I gotta kill you today!

Uncle, calm down!

Zhao, run!

-Zhao, run! -General, leave!

Uncle!

Uncle, don't.

Uncle!

General, leave!

-Uncle! -General!

General! Stop!

-Stop! Kill me first! -Zhao, are you okay?

Zhao, are you okay?

Weren't you like a tiger before?

Why now look so delicate after you got married?

Zhao was poisoned by someone days ago.

Almost lost her life!

How could she bear this?

It's okay.

Uncle used the back of the blade.

Just because I haven't gotten recovered yet.

Uncle.

It's all my fault.

No wonder you're mad.

I swear.

I'll get cousin back as soon as possible.

To make you no more worried.

Uncle.

It's really his majesty who summoned you back?

The edict was from the palace.

How could it be fake?

May I take a look at the edict?

Yes.

My family also received some edicts from his majesty!

Xia.

Fetch the edicts.

To compare with uncle's.

Yes, my lord.

My lord.

You're so paranoid.

If his majesty knows this, he'll punish you two!

The edicts in Song need high-quality silk,

special art of dyeing and weaving.

The brighter the color is.

The higher the rank is.

Except clouds and red-crowned cranes,

there are flying silver dragons on both ends,

hidden in the texture of the silk.

Multiple anti-fake methods, kept to the insiders. The art of its weaving is also brilliant and unique.

Every edict will be kept in a sealed niche

and heavily guarded.

Since the foundation of Song,

I've heard of fake deliveries of edicts and oral commands.

But never heard of fake edicts.

Enough!

Look here!

What's wrong? Any problems?

This edict is fake.

This edict was made by master Li,

the counterfeit maker.

I know his means well.

Are you sure?

When master Li made a counterfeit,

he would leave his name in an unnoticeable place.

Which was the character Li.

He knew he's good at making counterfeits.

No one would notice that.

So he did it as he liked.

This is his secret.

But master Li has been dead for so long.

How could he make a fake imperial edict?

Zhao.

Do you remember after we caught Lila who killed master Li,

he got killed by someone before we interrogated him?

So,

someone told master Li to forge this edict.

And then Lila was sent to kill master Li.

So it's a serial murder case.

This is just what I've been waiting for.

Uncle, it's a distraction tactic!

Juping Pass is in danger!

Your majesty, general Liu asks to see you.

I, Liu Tiantuo, bow in respect before your majesty.

Juping Pass is our Song's first defense on the border.

Now it's taken by Western Xia's prince.

As the commander-in-chief, you left your position arbitrarily.

Don't you know your crime?!

I shall be sentenced to death.

I received an imperial edict.

I thought your majesty wanted me to come back.

So I let my assistant general deal with military affairs at Juping Pass.

And then rushed back to the capital.

Luckily, my nephew-in-law Zhao Yujin got sharp eyes.

He found it's a fake edict.

Now I regret it so much in pain!

I hate that I was so blind.

Failed to recognize it.

Your majesty, please forgive me.

Jiang Luhai.

... Liu Tiantuo shall return to the capital to take over military affairs...

Issued by his imperial majesty.

Someone faked the edict.

Your majesty, please see the truth!

Liu Tiantuo, you left your position arbitrarily.

According to the military law, you shall be beheaded in public!

But since the thing is done by some villain,

you'll be put in the prison, waiting for your punishment.

Thanks for your majesty sparing my life.

Guards.

Yes, your majesty.

Take him away.

Yes, your majesty.

Juping Pass is lost.

Liu Tiantuo left his position arbitrarily.

He shall be punished.

I've put him in the prison.

Ministers.

Western Xia has betrayed the oath they took in front of us.

Holds up their banner to invade our Song.

Do you guys have any good solutions?

All remain silent.

A pathetic thing after all.

Everyone, please offer up good ideas.

Which minister wants to lead troops to resist Western Xia?

At such a critical moment.

There's no usable man for that in our great Song?

Your majesty.

I'm willing to lead the troops.

Your majesty.

General Yang is the right one to lead the troops.

But he's old now.

I'm afraid he doesn't fit the job.

Lord Qi is right.

I also don't want him to.

Your majesty.

Western Xia's soldiers are tough and militant.

We all have no experience in leading troops and fighting.

If we go there rashly,

I'm afraid more people will sacrifice.

So we should choose someone else.

Recommend a right person now!

Your majesty, in my opinion,

although Liu Tiantuo left his position arbitrarily, lost Juping Pass,

which is unforgivable,

however, he's been guarding the border,

knows Western Xia well.

So he can go to atone for his crime.

Lord Qi is right.

General Liu is loyal to the court.

Back then, in the war against Liao,

he made contributions.

Very experienced in leading troops.

He's the best option to resist Western Xia.

Your majesty, please allow him.

Your majesty.

I think,

our court is short of military officers.

We may choose a new one from civil officials.

Prime minister Lv, who do you think is most suitable for that?

Fan Zhongyan.

Fan Zhongyan has read many military books.

He's capable and bold.

He's the best option to supervise soldiers at the border.

Although minister Fan has read many military books,

he's never fought in the battlefield after all.

I'm afraid...

Your majesty.

Although Fan Zhongyan is not an ace in Kungfu,

when he talks about deployment of soldiers,

he has insights.

When two sides fight against each other, military tactics prevail.

Fan Zhongyan is calm and good at strategies.

He's the optimum choice.

Okay.

When our country is in danger,

prime minister Lv recommends minister Fan regardless of your old grudges.

I'm really glad to see that.

Where is minister Fan?

Your majesty.

Fan Zhongyan is walking around in the capital

to check officials' political performances.

Summon minister Fan back here right now.

Yes, your majesty.

The border in Shaanxi is over one thousand miles long.

I'll appoint Fan Zhongyan as Temporary Commander-in-chief,

in charge of two hundred and twenty thousand soldiers.

Guo Fushan, Teng Zijing will be his assistant generals.

To assist Fan Zhongyan to resist Western Xia.

They'll set out tomorrow!

Long live your majesty the emperor!

Your majesty! Your majesty! Your majesty! Call imperial doctors!

Hurry!

Your majesty! Your majesty!

Your majesty!

What's wrong with you, your majesty?

Your highness.

Duke and general Ye are here.

You're here.

I bow in respect before your highness the royal consort.

Your highness.

How is royal uncle now?

His majesty had headaches.

Imperial doctors in the palace checked upon him.

But didn't know why that happened.

That took so much time.

His majesty fell asleep just now.

Wang, go check upon his majesty.

Yes.

I bow in respect before your majesty.

Your highness.

How is his majesty now?

According to his majesty's pulse,

he felt dizzy because the poison attacked his heart.

In my opinion.

His majesty has eaten a kind of nervous poison by mistake.

This poison presented itself invisibly.

Would make one unconscious,

or at worst, lose his life.

Luckily, I've seen symptoms of such a poison in the west.

I'll acupuncture his majesty right now.

To discharge the toxin from his body.

Meanwhile.

I'll write a few detox prescriptions.

To help him recuperate along with potions.

Proceed with the treatment.

Yes.

Hurry. Hurry.

Old bastard.

How did you make my royal uncle end up like this?

Duke, please see the truth.

I've been serving his majesty for over twenty years.

Never slack off.

Even if I failed to take good care of him sometimes,

but such a mishap could never possibly happen!

Poison?

Your highness.

Did his majesty eat anything special lately?

Lately, his majesty

always ate at her highness the empress' palace.

I heard lord Qi's wife

often sent some freshwater fishes to her highness.

Is it because his majesty ate the freshwater fishes?

Lord Qi's wife...

Jiyu?

Report! General Yinuo, secret emergency letter!

Song...

You have no one usable in this!

No one usable!

In the first battle at Juping Pass,

we made a clean sweep!

Where should we attack next, prince?

The line of Yanzhou.

Why Yanzhou?

The line of Yanzhou has an open land.

Easy to attack.

Also helpful for our Western Xia's soldiers and horses

to march on. And sweep away all obstacles!

Who is the guarding general of Song?

A civil official.

Civil official?

Song sent a civil official to fight against us?

So ignorant!

It's like a decision Song's emperor made in his unconsciousness.

Yes. Yes.

We can't lower our guard.

I heard, that man is outspoken and bold to admonish.

Pushes forward the reform.

And he's a competent helper to Song's emperor.

You guys gotta know,

in the battlefield,

brute force is not the only factor to win.

You gotta be brave and wise.

So, everyone should be cautious and alert anyway.

For what I'm gonna ask today,

empress must answer honestly.

If you lie for a single word,

you'll be dead.

Yes, your majesty.

Over the past two months.

No one but empress served me in bed.

I ate with empress.

Now,

I have symptoms of food poisoning.

I fainted in the imperial garden.

Tell me.

What the hell you fed me?

Your majesty.

Even God knows that I truly love your majesty.

I miss your majesty every day.

I just want your majesty to sleep with me more.

How could I do harm to your majesty?

Your majesty, let me explain it.

I'll grant you the chance.

Go ahead.

The Zaobai fish I ate with your majesty was a gift from Jiyu.

She told me,

that was sent by her family into the capital

thousands of miles away from Huaizhou.

I thought the fresh fish was rare.

So I enjoyed it with your majesty.

Empress, you ate the Zaobai fish with me.

Why I got poisoned,

but you're alright?
