[Ni Chang]

[Episode 20]

Miss Ni Chang, don't pass this.

I will prepare a thank you gift and visit you in the future.

Go back and find a place to settle down.

When you have the time, you can visit me often.

If you bring a thank you gift, I won't accept.

I'm leaving then.

I wish you both a happy and beautiful life.

Madam, this way, please.

Come.

I didn't expect you would handle this matter so well.

I really don't know how to thank you.

Save your words of thanks.

Once you have saved more in the future, you can thank me then.

You've been helping me a lot.

If it's not for you, I fear that I wouldn't have today.

What foolish words are you saying? It's because you have given up hopes.

That's why you are who you are today.

A pity that my shop

has been forced into a corner.

Timing and subtitles brought to you by 💕Ni Chang Fans💕 @ Viki.com

I heard from the shop assistants that you haven't been going to the shops.

It wasn't easy to take back the authority from Second Uncle.

Why are you a decadent again?

Start going to the shops again from tomorrow.

Don't make Second Uncle angry and unhappy. Don't let the shop assistants worry about you too.

Give it to me.

I told you to give it to me.

You are more frivolous than me.

You are still shameless.

I'm a dignified lady

who insisted on staying at the Su's residence and refused to leave.

Whereas the young master of Su family disdains me.

I will scream if you dare to leave. Let's embarrass ourselves together.

Su Wenyu, I won't blame you for not seeing my painstaking efforts

because you have been bewitched by that vixen, Ni Chang.

I will never let you become a decadent again

and destruct yourself.

Fine.

If I do well from today,

will you let Ni Chang off?

I want to let her off

but this is the problem of the Garment Association.

I can't control this too.

If you didn't instigate them, this matter won't have developed till this stage.

Su Wenyu, listen carefully. Everything that I did,

it's for you and the Su family.

Don't forget. Ni Chang fell into this plight,

because you harmed her.

You still have the dignity to plead mercy for her?

But don't worry. For you, for the Su family,

I will keep this secret forever.

Who made me suffer and insisted on liking you?

Miss Yan, there's no need to belittle yourself.

You are just like my Second Uncle

who wants the Su and Yan families to join forces together.

You want the post of the young mistress of this family.

You regard yourself as a business transaction

and used marriage as a kid's game. Miss Yan, what a great tactic.

So, this is how you think of me?

In your eyes, am I someone who only cares about benefits and are without any feelings?

Feelings? Miss Yan, if you really have any feelings,

- you wouldn't have been so ruthless to your ex-classmate! - I-

Shut up. You don't need to say anymore.

Miss Yan, please take back your love for me.

I, Su Wenyu, wouldn't dare to accept it.

You!

Su family is making a big fuss over you, not just for self interests.

Why are they so ruthless to you?

This is where I find puzzling.

Doesn't one do business based on their own abilities?

Although Su family is a hundred year old shop

but they don't need to keep finding trouble with me.

Perhaps, it's because Yan Wenxiu and I have a feud.

She instigated the Su family to target me.

I think this matter is not that simple.

What?

Let's not talk about this now.

There aren't any places in the capital to purchase fabrics now.

Are you planning on giving up?

I already promised the customers not to give up

till the mountains and rivers are exhausted.

What are your plans?

- I plan to go to Xi State. - X State? You are going there?

Yes. I'm going there into the business of purchasing.

and also, appreciate the local customs. It's killing two birds with one stone.

I heard Mister Zhao said that Xi State's business is flourishing.

I wanted to see it a long time ago.

Xi State is indeed worth a visit

but you are going there alone as a woman.

I'm going with Cheng Tian. I will be careful along the journey.

- But. - No need to worry.

The people in Xi State are simple and honest. Nothing bad will happen.

But there are famines everywhere and the roads are uneven.

Why don't we do this?

Wait for a few days.

Once I have completed my current tasks, I will escort you there.

But if I can't wait, I will fall into this plight again.

You must be extra careful on the journey.

Notify me before you leave. I will see you off.

No need, Prince. Just wait for me to return safely.

[Fang Clan Clothing Shop]

What are you looking at?

Ni Chang, I heard the Garment Association cut off your source of supply for fabrics.

Do you still have a place to purchase fabrics from?

Thanks to your uncle's order and care,

this is my outcome for today.

Now that I have nothing to do, he should be very happy.

I told you earlier but you refused to listen.

What now?

If you are advising me to submit to that villain, of course, I won't do it.

Ni Chang, if you contend with my Second Uncle, nothing good will come to you.

The tougher you are, they will use more malicious tactics.

In order to topple you, he will do whatever it takes.

You really don't know how sinister this is.

The dirty tactics that your Second Uncle did to me,

- you really were unaware? - I really had no idea.

But I'm advising you. Don't go against them again.

- I'm doing this for your own good. - Thank you for your kind intentions.

Ni Chang, you are a weak woman after all.

Is it that hard to accept fate?

- What did you say? - I wanted to tell you this earlier.

Since ancient times, a woman without talents is a virtue

but you are always so restless.

How many rights and wrongs were generated?

Hasn't this series of blows helped you come to your senses?

You should know your duties as a woman.

Your best way out now is to leave Fang Clan and marry into my family.

And be a young lady of the house without any worries.

- Ni Chang, marry me. - Release me.

I will treat you well for life and be your reliance forever.

I'm begging you. Stop fighting with them.

I thought you were different from others

but I didn't expect you to be the same as them.

Unenterprising and underestimate women.

From now, we are no longer friends

because I look down on you.

What did you say?

- Look down on me? - That's right.

I look down on you.

I consider you unworthy.

Please stop hassling me.

Ni Chang,

how could you look down on me?

Ni Chang!

[Fang Clan Clothing Shop]

Cheng Tian,

Xi State is colder than the capital. Perhaps.

What? I'm not afraid of cold.

Just bring along these clothes for Ni Chang.

I have already packed them for you and her.

Alright then.

When you leave,

it will be at least two weeks.

If things go smoothly, around ten days should be enough.

After all, the delivery dates are less than a month. We need to rush back to finish the orders.

The road to Xi State is uneven.

You both must take good care of yourselves on the journey.

Don't stick out unnecessarily. Understand?

Why are you such a nag?

I'm not a kid.

Besides, we will be gone for about ten days. It's not like we won't be back.

Here, Ni Chang's water bottle.

We will fine on the journey.

Don't worry.

There's nothing for you to worry.

Why don't you go with us?

What will happen to Aunt and Uncle if I go?

They will bully them.

Ni Chang said that someone should be at home.

We swore to protect the shop.

You make sense.

However, if you remain here,

I'm worried too.

Yuan Xiang,

you must take good care of yourself.

And Uncle and Aunt too.

If the people from the Garment Association gives you any problems,

don't resist them.

As long as it's not to close down the shop,

speak gently when you should.

Be deferential if you need to.

Wait till we are back and everything will be fine.

Remember this.

Stop crying or you will look ugly like a kitten.

Look at the situation now and you are still joking.

Prince, the head fee goes into the private account of the Bureau of Affairs.

Moreover, that account only goes through Gao Xuan and no one else can touch it.

Prince, in my opinion,

don't get involved with this.

No matter what, we are just in the supervisory roles.

If we offend the Bureau of Affairs, we will bring out a bunch of people. It won't benefit us.

The royal family sent me to do this task.

It's a great disrespect if I don't report this when I'm aware of it.

Many royal family members are living a fine life and outside the reach of law.

- Prince, you insist- - Shut up.

You-alright.

Prince, even if you don't like to listen, I insist on saying this too.

You don't have any real power and background in the palace.

You don't gang up for selfish reasons too. Why bother to offend these villains and make yourself unhappy?

Also, that Yuan Daocheng is disgustingly greedy. It's common knowledge in the capital.

Everyone just closes one eye.

You are more serious.

The royal family also see you as a righteous person.

That's why they sent you to do things to offend these people.

Prince.

Prince, look. You just came back

and you are being sent to do inventory of the lousy tribute inks again.

That's right. This ink is unreasonable

and can't go through knocks and be exposed to moisture and light.

Talking about this, it's strange.

Why are they giving you so many damaged errands recently?

Because I hindered some people,

they want me to pay for it.

Prince,

are you referring to Bureau of Affairs?

Forget it.

Let's go to the south first.

there will come a day when I settle score with him about the private account

By the way, what's the date today?

Sixteenth of the month.

Take this.

Prince, where are you going?

[Fang Clan Clothing Shop]

It's so high.

That darn Cheng Tian. Left without finishing his words.

Miss Yuan Xiang.

Prince.

Why are you late? Ni Chang has already left.

She has left?

What? Went to Xi State?

I got a shock too.

This wench is stubborn and insist on having her ways.

If we let her purchase the fabrics

and gain a foothold in the capital,

there will be endless troubles in the future.

Don't bother about this for now. Leave.

Second Uncle, rest early. I'm leaving.

If I let this girl live,

she will clutch tightly to the matter regarding Shen Lan and won't let go.

Disaster will prevail.

Before Ni Chang, she instructed that if you came,

this is to be handed to you.

Xiao Lu, stop the carriage.

Stop the carriage. Stop.

Prince, what's wrong?

- Turn around. - Prince, aren't we going to the south?

We must reach Xi State.

Turn around to Xi State? What will we do there?

Are you rejecting what is near at hand and seeking what is far away?

Cut the crap. Turn around now.

Turn around, quick.

Giddy up.

Are you sure this is the right way?

Are we walking back to the capital?

Isn't this what you are hoping?

You don't want to go with me to Xi State. You want to go home, right?

How can you falsely accuse me?

When did I say I didn't want to go to Xi State with you?

As long as you open your mouth, I won't even say a word if we go through fire and water.

If I didn't want Yuan Xiang to stay at home,

I should have brought her along.

This girl cried so miserably.

She loves to cry. Just ignore her.

She can't bear to see you leave. Why are you pretending?

Where is this place?

Take this.

If we walk straight, in half an hour, we will be in Huaiyuan town.

Let's stay there later.

Where did you get this map from?

- Prince gave it to me. - I say, this prince,

although he's usually an eyesore,

but he's still very thoughtful and meticulous.

He's much better than that brainless Su Wenyu.

I didn't say anything wrong.

Should we have a stroll near the lake?

Are you here for an outing?

This is too tiring.

How far do we still have to go?

Hang in there. The town is just ahead.

Ni Chang, be careful!

Cheng Tian!

Who are you?

Ni Chang, run now!

Quick!

Be careful.

Be careful!

Cheng Tian!

Ni Chang!

Leave now!

I will fight you till death!

Cheng Tian.

Sorry.

Did you succeed?

Yes.

That woman and her companion

have been killed by me in the woods.

Excellent.

If anyone ask about this, do you know what to say?

Boss Su, what did you say? I don't understand.

I don't know anything.

What were you talking about just now? Who was killed in the woods?

Wenyu, you misheard. There's nothing like this.

This is-.Second Uncle, you sent someone to kill Ni Chang.

Don't leave.

Make yourself clear.

You!

You killed Ni Chang. You are a murderer!

Shut up!

I did this for you.

If you didn't kill Shen Lan, things won't have turned out this way.

If I don't cover up your crime, can I still be here now?

As for Ni Chang, she was seeking her own death.

She insisted on pursuing the conspiracy and refused to give up. Tell me what I should do.

Do you want her to unravel the truth and implicate the Su family?

But, Second Uncle, you can't kill Ni Chang too.

If I don't kill her, you will die!

What I'm doing is for you!

You are not grateful to me, but you even shout and wrangle to me!

Son of bitch!

No.

Ni Chang won't die.

You must have made mistake! You made mistake!

- Wenxiu! You... - I knew it.

Ni Chang, even death would not expiate all her crimes.

Who tied me up?

Untie the rope for me!

Young Master, you have waken up.

Untie the rope for me!

Second Uncle has told me not to let you go around.

Damn it! How can you tie me up? Untie the rope for me! Do you hear me?

Young Master, calm down. Second Master doesn't have other solution. He is afraid you will go out to cause trouble.

If you keep making noise like this, you will alert people in the manor. They will watch you more carefully.

The loss outweights the gain, doesn't it?

Okay. I won't run away.

untie the rope for me.

I don't dare.

- Let me drink some water then. - Yes.

Young Master.

Higher.

Even higher.

What did you do?

Sorry, Young Master, I will wipe for you!

[Fang's Clothing]

Open the door! Open the door! Open the door!

Get something to fight with him!

Uncle! Uncle!

I'm Su Wenyu!

Su! What are you doing here?

Aunt. Uncle. Yuan Xiang. Why only are you here? Where is Ni Chang?

- You come to see Ni Chang? - Tell me where is Ni Chang?

- Is she in the backyard? - Ni Chang!

You even dare to get inside? Let me tell you!

If you don't want us to kill you, then piss off!

You made us so miserable! What are you doing here?

Aunt. Uncle. Listen to me.

I need to see Ni Chang today anyway. Ni Chang! Ni Chang!

Ni Chang is not here. Stop shouting here!

Piss off!

She is not here? Where has she gone?

She went to Xi State purchase goods for the shop with Cheng Tian!

She went to Xi State? She went to Xi State?

She went to Xi State?

I-

It's true.

It's true!

Are you wailing at funeral now? Piss off! Did you hear it? Piss off now!

You don't know? Ni Chang, Ni Chang had an accident.

What's wrong with Ni Chang?

Say it! What's wrong with Ni Chang?

Say it! What did you know?

She was killed

on the way to Xi State!

Nonsense!

♫ How long must I gaze at the starlight, how many absurd things must I do? ♫

You talk nonsense! You talk nonsense! You talk nonsense!

What nonsense are you talking about?

How did you know it?

It can't happen! How did you know it?

I didn't believe at the beginning.

But it's all true. I heard it from...

It's all true.

No way. It can't happen with Cheng Tian there.

Cheng Tian should be dead as well.

Bastard! How did you know it?

You Su Family send people to kill them, didn't you?

No! No!

I tried to persuade her. I tried to persuade her not to confront the tough with toughness.

But she doesn't listen to me. She doesn't listen to me anyway.

She believes everyone of you. But she doesn't believe me.

She just doesn't believe me.

♫ Just like the misty rain and haze in Jiangnan ♫

Why should I believe you?

With Cheng Tian's protection, Ni Chang will be fine!

Cheng Tian is tall and strong. He will definitely protect Ni Chang well. Things won't go wrong.

Do you think so?

- Yuan Xiang! - Yuan Xiang!

♫ Departures never end in life ♫

♫ I hope to end your tears, make you smile, and be daring without guilt ♫

Doctor, how is she?

From the pulse condition, it's nothing serious now.

It's been 3 days. Why is she still unconscious?

She suffered excessive loss of blood. If you didn't push the blood and stop bleeding for her,

I'm afraid I can't do anything now.

♫ To handle the impermanence, how far must I look into the distance ♫

Please don't worry.

Even though this girl's the condition of the wound is critical,

she's pulse has been smooth and steady after being nursed.

I will prescribe some medicine for her. She needs to take it on time.

Doctor, how is the injury on her face?

I just checked. The cut is deep.

But our remote little town doesn't have good medicine to get rid of scar.

If it delays for too long,

I'm afraid there will be scar left on her face.

I think you should find a way to treat the scar as soon as possible.

I got it. Thank you, doctor.

How is she? She hasn't waken up?

She hasn't.

Yuan Xiang. Yuan Xiang. You wake up?

She wakes up.

- Yuan Xiang. - Yuan Xiang.

Come on.

How do you feel?

Uncle. Aunt.

Do you also think Cheng Tian is really...

Don't listen to that Su!

Think about it. Recently all those money that we compensate the customers

and the ransom to redeem this house, everything was arranged by the Prince, right?

I think now Ni Chang is surely with the Prince.

She will be fine with the Prince.

- Yes. - Makes sense.

But when I heard what Su Wenyu said just now. I was too worried. I couldn't think about anything.

Now let's keep Fang's safe. Keep this home safe.

Stay peaceful and wait for them to come back.

Yes. Listen to your aunt.

But I'm still worried. Where on earth are they?

When can they come back?

- Prince! - You come back.

How is it going?

Prince, take a good rest. You have been working too hard recently.

I'm not tired.

How come you are not tired?

- I can replace you. - Stop talking. Go to decoct medicinal herbs quickly.

I...

Ni Chang, do you feel better?

Prince, why are you here?

Where am I?

This is Huaiyuan Town.

Where is Cheng Tian?

Cheng Tian also also got sword cut. He is fine now.

He is resting in the next room.

I will ask Xiao Lu to tell him to come here later.

Ni Chang, watch out!

It really hurts.

It's a little cut. It will be recovered in a couple of days.

Give me the mirror.

I will go.

Prince!

You can go out.

Ni Chang,

Let me stay a alone.

You can go out.

You are weak. You must eat.

I don't want to eat.

My current task is to take care of you.

I said I didn't want to eat!

Where are you going?

I'm going to Xizhou. Fang's can't break faith with others.

I have solved the problem. You need to recuperate now.

No, if you don't tell me now, I can't be relieved.

Alright.

Don't kill him. Follow him.

Yes!

Ni Chang! Ni Chang!

The truth is yet to be investigated.

But now we can basically be sure

It's the Su Family that sent the killer to kill you.

Su Gongming? He sent people to kill me?

Actually I always feel suspicious about this Su Family.

I'm also investigating them secretly.

But I didn't expect they gave themselves away here.

[Su Manor]

[Su Manor]

Go on tailing after him. I will report to the Prince.

Yes.

After that person reported on completion of the task, I was still worried.

Then I sent people to inquire about the information secretly.

That Lord Su didn't plan to give it up as expected.

He thought you couldn't go back.

So he simply incited the customers to make trouble in the shop.

The customers couldn't find you. Yuan Xiang and others also didn't have money to compensate them.

Therefore the customers sued you to the official mansion.

They sued you for privately taking possession of the money and fleeing to escape punishment.

- Then they— - Don't worry.

I have sent people to send money to Yuan Xiang

for them to pay the double compensation to the customers.

You go first.

Leave me alone.

Father, mother, Older Brother.

What should I do?

Why does God treat me like this?

Why?

[Su Manor]

Second Uncle, although Fang Family lost Ni Chang,

their door is locked every day and it seems they don't plan to move away.

Do they still want to stage a comeback?

They can't do anything without Ni Chang. Let it be.

Second Uncle, it doesn't work.

Although this Yuan Xiang can't do anything,

she is taught by the same teacher with me and Ni Chang.

If she starts to imitate Ni Chang after a while,

learn to play those dirty tricks from Ni Chang,

I'm afraid she will get customers again.

You mean...

Second Uncle, let me handle this.

Who are you making the clothes for?

Don't hide it. I already saw it.

Come on. Show me.

You are so filial. You know to make clothes for your uncle!

It's a bit big.

How can this fit your uncle?

Aunt.

What are you shy about?

Your affection to Cheng Tian,

is even known by sparrows outside the window!

The stitches are so nice!

You make it more carefully than any other clothes you made before.

I'm just not sure if he can still wear it or not.

What are you talking about?

They are certainly alive!

We just need to keep the Fang's door,

and wait for them to come back.

Drink the soup.

Wenxiu, as the biggest daughter of the Yan Family,

Your talent and virtue

should be the good model of your siblings.

But your behaviour nowadays really makes bitterly disappointed.

The family has known what you have done in the Capital City.

All the aristocratic families all know the marriage of you and the Young Mater of Su Family.

They marriage was worked out so you made trouble.

What's done is done. You don't need to come back to Huai State.

Just wait to be married in the Capital City.

The Yan Family doesn't have the eldest daughter like you.

You made the Yan Family suffer shame.
