[ Episode 41 ]

Doctor Qingyao. Why are you here?

High God!

Yunfeng!

High God. High God, hold on.

Come, sit down. Quickly treat him.

Do not waste your effort.

My qihai acupoint is destroyed, immortal veins are severed. I am dying.

Stop with your nonsense!

I am a doctor, I can save you. Quickly lie down!

- Let me give you a thorough examination. - No, listen to me, Qingyao.

Who does not die?

Even if we are immortals,

we cannot really live forever.

Qingyao...

I was born a deity. Although my parents died early,

I gained the care and protection of my Respected Teacher and Senior Brother.

I was able to live in a muddled fashion for tens of thousands of years.

I always felt that my days were

too dull and boring.

I was never thankful for anything.

But when I met you, I felt so grateful.

Grateful to fate for bringing you to my side.

Even if you hate me or bear grudges against me, I do not care.

Qingyao, I am not afraid of dying.

I am just afraid that there will be no one standing by your side once I die.

You always love to act tough, always bearing everything by yourself.

Once I die, who will help you?

How do you feel?

I cannot hold on any longer. Before I die, I just want to ask you a question.

Have you ever liked me?

Even for a moment?

I will take you back to the manor of the Lord of Heavenly Medicine. He surely can save you!

- Let's go now! - No...

What Doctor Qingyao said is absolutely right!

High God Yunfeng, please save your energy.

Let's quickly go to Heavenly Palace and look for Lord of Heavenly Medicine for treatment!

Say, how could a tiny Taowu beast

hurt you to this degree?

Could it be you have some old illness that has acted up?

No... Qingyao, tell me,

do you like me or not? Tell me!

It hurts!

Aren't your vital veins already severed and you're dying? You still know what pain is?

After you pinched me like that, I felt better.

Qingyao, do not hit me.

What are you trying to do?

Aren't you dying?

So slow. Let me help you with that!

High God Yunfeng...High God Yunfeng!

High God Yunfeng, are you alright?

I initially was fine. Now, I am dead.

Qingyao! Qingyao!

- Say "ah". - "Ah".

Tongue.

You are fine.

Tell me, why did you make this prescription?

Her tongue coating is slightly red, her pulse is finer than usual.

She is lacking in qi and blood, will sometimes have palpitations and insomnia. Her illness is not severe.

We should use medicines that can improve warmth, focus on nursing herqi and gathering her energy.

The dwarf lilyturf is good for the qi, licorice root nurses the heart, donkey-hide gelatin is nourishing, (T/N Liriope spicata)

cinnamon warms the heart and yang, (T/N TCM, the warm/male element to aid circulation, vs the cold/yin side)

costus root moves the qi and adjusts it back to the center, (T/N "spiral ginger", a relative of true ginger)

red sage livens the blood and dissolves extra-vascular blood, nourishing and removes stagnation. (T/N "danshen" - Salvia miltiorrhiza)

This is my first time making prescriptions.

I am a bit too careful about what medicines to use. Do not know if they are right.

Human life is more valuable than thousands of gold. It is just right to be cautious.

This prescription you made was done very well.

Although there are just six medicines, they are enough to show your skills.

A'Mo, not bad.

Thank you, Doctor Sun.

Xiao Lizi! Get the medicines according to this prescription.

A'Mo is really outstanding. Just how long has she been here, and she can already stand on her own!

You think A'Mo is you? You have been here for so many years, yet there is no improvement at all!

Go get the medicines.

Elder Sister, come with me.

A'Mo. For what purpose are these male clothes?

I...

I hurt my primordial energy when I fought with Taowu that day.

I have lost the Nuwa Stone, so my chance of survival has been cut off.

I am only relying on the energy of the Fire Essence to continue my life. I must be more careful.

Before Ling Xi successfully gets through her trials,

I cannot casually fight with anyone anymore.

Mo, you are back.

Lord Song. Do you feel better today?

I feel much better.

What is that?

Nothing. Just some ingredients.

I will go cook then.

♫ I float adrift on the current in the midst of where the water and sky merge in one color in the Milky Way, ♫

Measure it this way.

♫ Depending on the moonlight to sweep away rising layers upon layers of cause and effect ♫

♫ In the midst of my dream, you quietly raise me up through the seams ♫

♫ Pulling me, pulling me ♫

♫ The skies themselves brought me to you to fill this void with happiness ♫

♫ To hold you up in your dream, as well as controlling the river of stars ♫

♫ You retreat afterward, finally banishing me with growing waves of tears ♫

♫ How cheerful... ♫

Here.

These past few days, you have been sleeping late.

What were you doing in your room?

Nothing.

Let me walk you to work later.

No need. You have not yet... fully recovered.

Just stay at home and rest.

I am full. I will go to work now.

- Teacher's Wife, good morning. - Grand Teacher's Wife, good morning.

Do not... address me like that.

Okay.

Teacher's Wife, look. These are breakfast dishes I asked my disciple to buy for you.

Soy milk and fried pancakes.

I already had breakfast.

You had breakfast?

I told you to hurry up! Look at how slow you were! Teacher's Wife has already eaten.

I must earn some money first.

As if I can create soy milk out of nothing?

Teacher's Wife, why don't we escort you to work?

No need. I can do it myself.

Teacher's Wife, take care! Teacher has us. Do not worry!

You are saying that Yunfeng and Qingyao..?

Yes. High God charged toward that Taowu beast just like that,

truly without fear, even if his soul would be completely destroyed!

How is he now?

At that time, he was fine.

At the present time, I am not sure.

What do you mean?

He deceived Doctor Qingyao, saying that his qihai acupoint had been destroyed and he was dying.

Doctor Qingyao saw through his guise

and was... a bit mad.

Based on what you said, did I wrongly pair two lovers?

This...

I cannot say.

Baishan, summon Qingyao here.

Yes, Heavenly Emperor.

Qingyao. I was kidding you!

Get out!

High God Yunfeng!

What's going on? This...

High God!

High God Yunfeng, what martial arts move was that?

You flew in such an imposing manner?

High God.

Doctor Qingyao is currently at the peak of her anger.

I urge you not to ruin her mood further for now.

I am a high god.

Will I be afraid of her?

Qingyao!

Qingyao, there are so many people outside.

I am, after all, a high god. Give me some respect.

Why do you look at me like that?

I was just joking with you.

Who told you to refuse to admit that you like me all this time? Hence, I tested it.

Stop assuming.

Do you not know that there are jokes that should not be made?

I know now.

- Is it funny? - No, it's not.

If it is, go look for someone else!

- Qingyao. - Is Doctor Qingyao around?

High God Yunfeng.

Doctor Qingyao, Heavenly Emperor asks for you.

Yes.

Qingyao, I will wait for you.

If you are still here when I return, I will break your leg!

High God.

So daring.

High God, never thought that Taowu would not able to hurt you,

but you died at the hands of our Qingyao!

So rare. So rare.

Why are you still here? Are you not afraid of Qingyao breaking your leg?

If my leg breaks, I will then have a valid reason to stay here.

So shameless.

Informing Heavenly Emperor, I have brought Doctor Qingyao here.

I, Qingyao, greet Heavenly Emperor.

Fairy Qingyao, please rise.

Thank you, Heavenly Emperor.

Qingyao, I heard about you and Yunfeng joining forces

to eliminate Taowu in the lower realm. You did well.

Thank you, Heavenly Emperor.

I just happened to pass by. I did not provide any real help.

Qingyao. I will definitely reward you two some other time.

Do you any request?

I have no request.

Do you really have no request?

There is one matter I want to ask you about.

Heavenly Emperor, please ask.

I heard that you and Yunfeng are good friends, and you are usually with Yuli.

You know their temperaments and personalities very well.

I want to ask your opinion about their marriage.

State Preceptor, how is Princess? Why is she still unconscious?

Her life bead was damaged, and she suffered grave internal injuries.

What then should we do?

Baoqing!

Princess!

Baoqing.

- Brother Jingxiu. - I am here.

So painful.

Brother Jingxiu, will I die?

Baoqing, do not let your imagination run wild.

Hold on.

Brother Jingxiu...

Baoqing! Baoqing!

Princess!

Baoqing!

State Preceptor.

State Preceptor, you just recovered from your injuries.

Now, you are using your own life bead to cure Princess.

If you harm your own foundation, it will cause endless trouble.

Our lifelong cultivation is in our life bead.

Princess Baoqing's life bead is severely damaged to the point of shattering.

Once her life bead completely shatters, she will not be able to escape death.

My life bead can only delay her death.

What then should we do?

I have a spirit-replenishing pill in my chamber. If we have it, it can save her.

I will immediately summon Heichi to get it.

Come back here.

There are a lot of restrictions in the palace.

Heichi will never find it.

Also, Baoqing does not have that much time.

I will personally go.

State Preceptor you cannot. The Shanling Tribe has already been occupied by Zhonghao.

The defense of Tianxi Palace is very tight.

If you go there alone, what if—

There is no what if.

Do not worry. Even if I bump into him, I have a way to escape.

State Preceptor!

Stay here.

Take good care of Princess Baoqing.

Yes.

Lighter! Lighter!

It's painful, you hateful old man!

Can you do it lightly?

I cannot.

With a man like you who fights eight times a day,

while this wound has just healed but there is another wound,

how can you not be in pain?

What are you saying?

How come you nag like my old man at home?

If you keep being like this, I will not come here anymore!

You do not want to come here, then do not. You think I like having you coming here?

Old man, what are you saying? Do you believe I will trash your shop?

What are you saying?

Do you have the right to speak here?

Brother Hai, this old man is too unappreciative of the respect you give him.

- Wait here now. - Get lost.

I will get your medicine.

The packet of medicine.

It will be done soon, Teacher.

Doctor Sun. This Xu Hai is a local tyrant.

Why do you help him? It is easy to invite trouble to yourself.

An evil man is also a patient. It is fine.

Look. Look.

Doctor Sun! Doctor Sun!

Is this a relative of yours

or the new cook?

This lady is so pretty.

Miss, how old are you?

Are you engaged?

Let's go.

Get the medicine and leave. Don't act atrociously here!

Or else, I will tell the local officials and your father

to scold you together!

You...

Doctor Sun, why are you mad?

I was just joking. Just joking.

Seriously.

[ Sun Pharmacy ]

Aunt, I will leave now.

This is for you. Drink it at home. It is mind-calming.

Mind-calming?

That group of rascals earlier must have scared you.

I am not that easily frightened.

They were also just casually joking around.

You are too kind.

Do not look down on them. They are thugs. They are capable of doing anything.

Oh right. It is getting dark. Quickly go home.

I will leave then.

Take care.

Wrap me up a mooncake.

- Thank you. - Take care.

Buy some mooncakes!

So fragrant and sweet!

Miss, buying some mooncakes?

How much?

Two coins.

Brother Hai, I have asked around. She is a foreigner.

She has no relatives, and wandered here on her own.

With her being so pretty,

if we sell her to Nanyang City,

I fear that it will be more than this amount.

- Hold it well. - Thanks.

Take care.

Mooncakes!

Fragrant and sweet mooncakes!

- Look there! - Hot buns!

Take care.

I want to buy some filled buns.

One coin can only buy you some plain buns.

Are you buying or not?

Plain buns?

A plain bun has no filling. Teacher does not like to eat that.

I will not buy anymore.

Grand Teacher's Wife!

Little Brother, come back here. Seeing how you are so filial, I will sell you some.

Why do you hit people? Why are you pushing me?

Fighting just for a few coins, is it worth it?

- Disgraceful. - What are you doing? Why do you keep pushing me?

Why is he hitting people?

Indeed.

Why are you getting physical?

Why are you like that?

Lad, take this.

Indeed.

Let us have a fight then.

Just talk less.

Stop fighting.

Everyone, be our judge.

Right.

Stop fighting.

Say it again.

Teacher! I am back!

Where are you going?

I told you to buy some food.

You almost caused me to die from hunger.

Suozhu, not that I want to scold you. Can you be smarter?

I am passing my lifelong learning to you.

You surely cannot just buy food or do errands all your life, right?

Teacher, just be at ease in catching those monsters. I will buy your food.

I guarantee that you will not starve to death!

What is that?

Mooncakes.

I know.

Why did you buy me medicines?

I did not buy those. I picked them up.

Over there, I saw someone who looks very similar to Grand Teacher's Wife.

When I approached to look, I saw these two bags on the floor.

Teacher, has Teacher's Wife returned?

She has not returned since she went out.

Why did you not say those words earlier? She must be in danger!

Teacher! Teacher!

Teacher! Bad news! Teacher!

Teacher, something bad happened!

Why are you so noisy?

Grand Teacher's Wife, wrong, Teacher's Wife, when she was walking in the streets, she suddenly disappeared!

Look, this is the medicine she left.

Teacher's gone again.

When will I learn that skill?

Still not coming?

Do not rush. Sit down and rest for a while.

Once we reach Nanyang City tomorrow, we will sell her.

Earn something big and live a good life for a few days.

That would be great.

Thank you, Brother Hai.

Come. Come. Drink.

Say, did you not tell Third Uncle already?

I did tell him!

There should be a boat at this time.

Where is it? Where is the boat?

Brother Hai, do not rush. He must wait for his dad to fall asleep before he can use his boat.

He should be here soon.

Let us not mind him. Come, Brother Hai.

Drink.

Who are you people?

Brother Hai! She is awake!

What are you trying to do?

You are even sitting up!

You woke up so fast.

What? You do not recognize me?

It's me! We met today.

In that pharmacy of Doctor Sun.

You are that one who hit his head?

That's me, that's me!

What are you doing?

What am I doing? I am not doing anything.

Miss, you are so pretty.

I cannot bear to see you work so hard.

Say, you have to wash and cook in that pharmacy all day.

- Being so dirty and how much can you earn? - Right.

It is like this. I pity a beautiful maiden like you.

I will take you to a better place.

Our boss is taking you to a better place.

You will be wearing gold and silver, eat delicious food and drink good wines. (T/N dressed beautifully)

You will even have money to spend!

How about it?

Let go of me. Let go of me!

Let go! Let go of me!

Just accept your fate.

Brother Hai.

Brother Hai. What's going on?

Watch her! Watch her!

Brother Hai, what is that?

- Let her go! - Lord Song, save me!

- Behave! - Where did a wild man like you come from?

Lord Song, save me!

- Behave! - I told you to release her!

Stop shouting!

Lord Song, be careful!

Lord Song!

Get lost!

Attack! Hit him!

Kill him!

Lord Song...

Momo.

Momo.

An immortal cannot casually use his magic while in the mortal world,

especially in attacking others or interfering with their fate.

Or else, you will suffer a counter-effect.

Sorry.

Let go. Let go.

Momo.

Lord Song.

It is I.

What is wrong?

What...

are you?

You think I am a ghost?

What kind of person are you?

Do not mind what kind of person I am.

Have I harmed you?

Momo.

I am sorry for today.

I should have not let things like this happen.

This has nothing to do with you.

Rest well.

Lord Song.

Do I really know you?

Are you the real you?

Yes.

We knew each other from before.

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In our hometown, there is this practice.

During Mid-Autumn, the man

must give the woman a gift and a blessing.

There was not enough time.

I was unable to prepare a gift.

I wish you a life of

peace and happiness.

♫ Overlooking finality, reluctant to leave, at this moment one must not turn one's head around ♫

Teacher, can you smell the scent of peach blossoms?

What season is it already? Peach flower blossom time is over.

It is indeed the smell of peach blossoms?

In a place where there is an Immortal Master,

everything is possible.

There is no use for you to deny it.

After you came out from Heavenly Emperor's palace, my marriage got canceled.

And you still say that it was not done by you?

Do not know if you have heard of this old saying,

"Would rather demolish ten temples, than break one marriage."

You destroyed my marriage fate out of nowhere, what then is your purpose?

What? You cannot bear for it to be gone?

If you cannot bear it, look for Heavenly Emperor yourself and beg the marriage back.

And you still say that you do not like me? You exposed yourself. You indeed like me. You were jealous.

Do not use force. I have not yet fully recovered.

You still dare to mention your injury?

As a distinguished high god, you used such a lowly trick as that. Are you not ashamed?

A grown man should marry, a grown woman should be married off!

I like you. I want to marry you. What is there to be ashamed of? If I fail to marry you, that is what you call shameful.

- Let go. - I will not.

You are already mine.

Heavenly Emperor already acknowledged it.

Hit me then!

Hitting my body, but your heart is the one hurting.

Just like how you hit Taowu last time.

If you think about it, Taowu can be considered our matchmaker!

Every New Year's Day,

let us go to Demon Tower and feed him.

It can serve as our little fun thing as a married couple. How about it?

Senior Brother?

What are you doing?

I was exchanging moves with Qingyao.

I never knew that Doctor Qingyao had such strong magical skills that she can now exchange moves with you.

Her magical skills have greatly improved lately.

Senior Deity.

I have something to ask. Sorry to bother you.

Senior Deity, what are you saying? Please go inside.

This pill can fortify your primordial energy, stabilize your mind, and lengthen your life.

But Senior Deity, you do not have a heart now.

Whether this medicine will work, I cannot guarantee.

You must not casually use your magic again.

Even if you meet a very evil mortal, you cannot interfere.

If you are harmed by the counter-effect again, causing the Fire Essence to extinguish,

even if Ling Xi successfully passes her trials and returns, she will not be at ease.

I know.

Senior Deity, you seem different?

You too.

Me?

Your magical power has increased a lot.

No matter what, Yunfeng is still a high god, yet he could not defeat you.

Looks like your cultivation level has improved a lot lately.

Senior Deity, you are also here to laugh at me?

Senior Deity, is Ling Xi doing well?

If you miss her, you can go see her.

Forget it.

She is bound to have three trials in her lifetime. She is destined to suffer.

Letting me see her sad and hurting, yet unable to do anything,

it is better to just stay here and wait for her return.

Senior Deity, what about you?

With you being by her side like this,

watching her getting hurt and being in pain,

even dying,

can you do it?

Senior Brother.

Have you done the task I asked you to do?

Of course. Hanzhang has already chosen a group of minor immortals who have now infiltrated Shanling Tribe.

But their status is low, and their magic is weak.

To send out confirmed information, it would take some more days.

It is enough that you have put your heart into it.

When have I not put any importance in the things you have instructed me to do?

- You are leaving? - Yes.

Senior Brother, please take care! I will not send you off any further!

Qingyao.

I will be out here guarding you then.

Qingyao.
