I'm too tired of this.

I know.

I always know.

Xie Yuan Yuan

I finally found my only relative

but I couldn't protect her.

Yuan Da Xia,

now you are not the same as

Yuan Da Xia who doesn't scare anything at all

that I know before.

What is that for?

I used to think that

if I could earn even a little money

to live through the day,

even when the sky collapsed, I would not even care.

But now my sky is going to fall,

I am now full of misgivings,

I don't dare stand up.

Such a grown-up like me,

I couldn't even protect my relative.

I am so useless.

Why are you useless?

It was because the power and position of Yan Family was too enormous.

Don't cry.

I don't know what to do now.

I have no way out.

I don't want to just sit here and wait.

I hate the way that I do nothing.

You still have me, don't you?

If there is something happening,

we will discuss with each other

we will together find a way.

Though

My Wu An Gang doesn't have much influence in the Capital,

but my Kung Fu isn't that bad.

If something dangerous happens,

leave it to me.

Thank you, Xie Yuan Yuan.

But I don't want to drag you

into my problem.

Unless you consider me as your brother.

If we are the best brothers,

we should deal with this together.

Yuan Da Xia.

For you

I could scale a mountain of swords and plunge into a sea of flames

I would even risk my life.

Don't turn me down.

Okay.

If you turn me down,

I will do it anyway.

Don't cry.

Okay.

Such a grown-up, don't cry again.

Today we will

forget all sad things.

Every problem has its solution, right?

We will play fireworks.

Come on.

This is for you.

You must forget your sadness.

Thank you, Xie Yuan Yuan.

We aren't strangers, stop saying thank you.

You aren't allowed to thank me .

Yuan Da Xia.

You've got me

Forget all your sadness.

Nice.

Your Majesty.

You see, you look good today

It seems that the medicine from Spiritual Master Lan

is really effective.

It really is "Set up a pole and see its shadow", it affects real quick.

You drink the medicine and your disease gets eliminated.

I also feel that my body is recovering.

These days, I didn't feel tired when meditating.

Maybe I

can live up to 100 years old.

How humorous you are, Your Majesty.

You are a centenarian, Your Majesty.

Of course you will live up to 10 thousand years old.

We also have spiritual master Lan.

Your Majesty.

Now you can be carefree.

How clever you are.

If I can really live till I am 10 thousand years old,

then there must be someone who doesn't approve.

Okay, now you go.

Call Spiritual Master Lan for me.

Your Majesty, you forgot?

Master Lan is still forbidden.

I have just said that you are clever,

now you are foolish again.

Of course, now the forbid is off.

What a fool I am!

I will go immediately.

Quickly.

Yes Your Majesty.

Leprechaun Lan, congratulations.

Leprechaun Lan.

After His Majesty drank your pill,

his mood had been really good.

I have also said nice things about you

in front of His Majesty.

This time

His Majesty ordered me to send you his words

You are free now.

You can meet him now.

I must say thank you, first Eunuch Li.

I still need you to help me later on

to say nice things about me in front of His Majesty.

So I will go collect my stuff.

And I will follow you to see His Majesty.

Wait.

Leprechaun Lan.

Your medicine is effective.

Yes, it is.

Leprechaun Lan,

our business

don't you remember?

Eunuch Li.

This medicine is effective. However,

you can't eat too much.

I know.

Okay.

Let's go.

Uncle.

Why are you here?

I have been observing nearby for many days

but I haven't got any evidences.

Uncle.

Stop butting in.

Go back quickly.

If you are caught, you can't imagine the consequence of this.

She is my aunt.

I can rescue her by myself.

Go.

No, i's not okay.

I'm not sure when there is only you.

Also,

in this world,

apart from Ling Er,

I have nothing to care about.

Uncle.

This horse-drawn carriage.

What are you doing?

Yesterday, when I sneaked into Yan's mansion,

I found that on the wheel of this horse-drawn carriage in the backyard,

there's my aunt's pomade.

How do you know that pomade is hers?

My aunt's hair oil is handmade.

Its odor is different from others'.

I can tell just by smelling.

How about following the horse-drawn carriage?

Let's see whether it brings any evidences.

Let's go.

Sir Lu.

Wait a little bit.

My Master is coming.

Please take a seat.

Is this the office long gown that he usually wears?

Yes.

My master has to wear his office long gown tomorrow.

He asked me to bring it over after I washed it.

I beg your pardon. l Mr. Xu.

You must have been waiting for me.

Take a sit.

You can leave now.

Municipal secretary Lu suddenly pays me a visit.

Any good news?

Mr. Xu, you really prophesy with supernatural accuracy.

I found out that

there was something wrong with this account book.

So I brought it here for you to check.

Is this

Salt transportation department's account book?

Strange.

The tax revenue is not the same in the book.

This is totally different from

Yan Shao Qiong's report.

Municipal secretary Lu.

Where did you get this from?

This was what my staff

found out from somewhere between Liang Zhe Liang Huai

where they had been investigating for half an year.

If His Majesty knows about this account book,

and he realizes there is a huge loss between those figures

Even when Yan Shao Qiong has Yan Family to back him up,

I think that he can't get away with this.

This is a really good chance.

His Majesty is someone who will seek for deeper meaning.

We just have to tell him the truth.

The rest

he can handle it himself.

Yan Shi Fan doesn't think that one day

we will start with Yan Shao Qiong to fight against him.

I hope our plan can work.

Alright, Sir.

I have just entered your house

and I realized that there was a patch already on your court dress.

That was thoughtful of you.

When you reach my age

you will understand why.

There are times

when words aren't

as persuasive as those such as this court dress.

I'm in charge of the whole Ministry of Rites.

Compared to those from Ministry of Works, Ministry of Revenue which can earn much profit,

A no money office of mine

the other is a sink of iniquity.

I don't have to say

His Majesty will have his own decision.

Yan Shi Fan.

Childe.

Uncle.

I can see my aunt inside.

Are you sure?

I'm not sure.

But I sense that she is in there.

Wait for me here.

I will go inside.

Wait, wait.

You can't enter now.

Why not?

It is just my feeling.

I'm not sure.

Also this is in daylight

and Yan Shi Fan has just entered.

If we rudely enter,

we will risk our lives.

Little girl, I'm not quite assured about you.

Waif for me here, I will go by myself.

Uncle, what are you saying?

If you want to go, then we should go together.

But not now.

Let's wait till the night comes, okay?

We will go in there when it is dark.

By that way, we can easily cover ourselves up.

Okay?

Restrain yourself a little bit.

It surprised me that His Majesty canceled

your limitation this fast.

It surprised me too.

That's why

To stay beside His Majesty

and take care of him need a lot of effort.

What happens?

I have just been free

and I immediately sent my letter pigeon for you to know the news.

Am I kind?

I feel that

we shouldn't meet each other usually.

About the white deer ,

it must be Yan Shi Fan who took the responsibility.

He starts to aim at you.

It seems so.

Before, there were many people who are under his power came to make friend with me.

They said that they wanted me to be a part of Yan Family.

I always turned them down.

He wanted to trap me.

It's not strange.

The situation in the imperial palace is fickle.

Be careful.

Don't worry.

I will grasp the chance to take action.

I haven't seen you for a few days,

still you haven't looked better.

You still worried for Jin Xia.

The heartless seem to suffer less than the passionate ones,

whose every inch of craving would create million strands of melancholy.

Even the sky and the earth have their limits,

only lovers' yearning would linger on and never break.

The sorrow of ending,

you must endure it yourself.

It's okay if it is me who has to suffer.

I don't want Jin Xia to suffer.

Liar.

Continue to deceive yourself.

If you don't want her to be sad,

you should find her.

Let's go.

Little girl.

Be careful.

I fear that there is a trap inside.

Keep silent.

We only want to ask you one thing

Have you seen a girl who is over 30 years old?

Tell her.

If you tell the truth, we won't hurt you.

Where is she?

Take us to her place, quickly.

Quickly.

Uncle.

Aunt.

Aunt l Ling Er l Jin Xia.

Ling Er l Senior Brother

Why are you here?

It's very dangerous here.

Leave this place, now.

You guys don't have to rescue me.

You are like this and I can't rescue you?

What if something happened to you...

Okay, okay, stop.

Go out first, let's go.

Let's go.

Quickly, quickly.

This smell

This is knockout drops.

We fell in the ambush.

We are done.

Aunt.

Little lady.

Long time no see.

Yan Shi Fan.

Don't touch my aunt.

Aunt?

Such a close form of address.

Is Lin He your mother?

What Lin He?

I don't understand what you are talking about.

You are the bailiff.

You must have questioned the criminals.

Today I will make you learn your lesson.

If you don't know,

then you should have asked me who is Lin He?

You shouldn't have said no immediately.

Stop thinking that you are the wise one here.

I said I didn't know her, that was all.

You didn't want to admit it, did you?

Fine.

I have my own way to make you admit it.

Yan Shi Fan.

What do you want to do?

What do you want to do?

I will count down from three.

If you don't admit it,

I will kill him.

Yan Shi Fan, you bastard.

Kill me.

Kill me.

Senior brother,

Okay. I will do as you please.

Don't.

I will admit.

Lin He is my mother.

You are not allowed to hurt them.

Jin Xia.

Little girl.

Take this little lady out.

Yes.

Where do you take her to?

Yan Shi Fan.

Yan Shi Fan, where do you want to take her to?

Let her go. Let me go.

Let her go.

Let her go.

Let Jin Xia and Ling Er go.

Let them go.

Do I have to let them go when you ask me to?

Yan Shi Fan, stop.

You bastard.

Senior Brother.

I know

you have affection with our Ling Er.

But if a hero wants to rescue the beauty,

he must think whether he has that ability.

Yan Shi Fan.

If you dare, aim at me.

Let them go first.

You can hit me or kill me, you can do as you like.

Don't let them hit him.

Tell them to stop.

Ling Er.

Yan Shi Fan, I beg you.

I beg you.

Ling Er, listen to me.

Listen to me.

I just need you to be happily beside me.

As long as you agree,

I will let him go.

I will do as I talk.

Why did you have to hurt

everyone around me?

Why?

Senior brother.

Stop hitting him.

I beg you. Please don't hit him.

Let him go.

Because I like you.

Agree with me, okay?

I beg you.

Stop hitting him.

Okay, I agree.

I agree, is that okay?

Really?

Senior brother.

Senior brother.

Ling Er, don't do that.

I'm really sorry.

Ling Er.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry senior brother.

Senior brother.

Senior brother.

I, Lu Yi,

Your Majesty.

Stand up.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Have you found out the situation that I asked the Imperial Guards to check?

Yes.

My father has found out.

Those people in Ministry of Works

even thought of asking me to help?

Do them still pay me their respect?

Aren't the money and gift from the court enough for him?

Does he dare possess the sales commission?

Please don't be mad Your Majesty, be at ease.

No.

This Yan Shao Qiong,

isn't he just a salt transportation official?

How could he take part in this?

The preparation of woods used to fix the temple this time

was assigned to him by Yan Master.

Yan Master?

Okay, you can leave now,

Yes.

Don't be angry, Your Majesty.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Little girl.

How could you be beaten up like this?

Are you okay?

Still fine.

I'm okay.

Where is my aunt?

That bastard Yan Shi Fan.

That bastard.

Little girl.

Don't hurry.

When your Master realized that we didn't come home for a whole night,

he will know that we were trapped here.

But my Master always executes the law with justice.

If he knows about this,

he won't take his people here.

He can find Lu Yi.

Why didn't you come to find me?

I am just the granddaughter of a guilty delegate.

You don't want to see me,

yet you still want to help me?

It's better if you stay away from me.

If you do so, you won't be dragged into trouble.

If you don't have any other commands,

I will leave first.

Now we can only find our way out ourselves.

Little girl.

How about this?

Listen to me.

If someone enters,

and we see the right time,

I will back up for you

and you'll run away.

What are you saying?

If I go, then you must go too.

My wound is an internal one.

I can't run away.

Uncle.

If you are internally wounded, you still have to go with me.

Okay.

You are internally wounded,

you need to rest a little bit.

Stop talking.

Uncle.

Wish you a long life and good health, Your Majesty.

You may stand up after kowtowing.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Okay, let's discuss.

Yes Your Majesty.

The expenditure of each ministry

was reported by everyone.

Now the cabinet will examine

what should be decided

what shouldn't be.

Through the thorough calculation and examination,

if there is any problems happening,

The Cabinet must have the answer for that.

Yan Master.

We will start with you first.

Thanks to the embrace of the heavenly sky and your good will,

The Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Revenue in the cabinet last year

also the Ministry of Rites and Ministry of Civil Personnel were under careful investigation.

Apart from giving aid to those ruined land by natural disasters and fixing the imperial palace,

we did go beyond the expected spending.

Other ministries overspent around 200 to 300 taels,

but Ministry of Works overspent the most.

We also have an uncompleted construction.

These things the cabinet didn't dare say arbitrarily.

I hope that you could kindly show me how, Your Majesty.

Put the Ministry of Works aside.

Xu Official.

Can you tell me whether there was any loss in other ministries?

Your Majesty,

I have two account books which I want to show you.

Because I don't know whether it is true or not,

I hope that you could kindly give me the decision.

2 account books?

Give me these.

Yes.

They are all from the Ministry of Revenue.

In these two books,

the difference is 3000 taels.

Xu Official.

This book,

where did you get it?

Your Majesty,

The Ministry of Revenue spent a lot this year.

So I came to the books at a lower level to investigate all of them.

Then I found out that in the account book of the Ministry of Revenue,

All the private mansion of people in the imperial family received

in total of 1200000 dans.

But the place where they got the tax

reported that the number was 2430000 dans.

Moreover,

satin, silk cloth, thin silk,

summer and winter clothes couldn't be compared.

Especially, the loss of salt was huge.

Yan Shao Qiong.

Yes, I am.

You are the one who transfers the salt.

Explain for me.

Your Majesty

I have always been devoted to my job as a salt manager.

I consider the nation budget my important responsibility.

But this year,

The Japanese Pirates in Liang Zhe went on rampage.

We all know this.

Among the official ships which delivered the salt,

there were a number of ships robbed by Japanese pirates

Now

the money has been reduced a lot.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Not only did 2 regions of Zhe and Fu Jian suffer from this

but also locust plagues recently.

Our people couldn't harvest anything at all.

Our court sent the money to save them many times,

so the income of Ministry of Revenue was less and less.

Sir.

Don't blame natural disasters for all of this.

Don't tell me that

we haven't won a war?

The money that we got from The Japanese Pirates,

we also recorded already.

Your Majesty.

The account book about shipping salt,

I have already sent to the Cabinet for a long time.

When they calculated, there was nothing wrong.

Now we have a fake account book,

I see that I am tricked here.

Mr. Xu.

You and I, we are in the Cabinet.

Why didn't you tell me during the calculation

and now you bring it on?

What are you aiming at?

Mr. Yan, don't be anxious.

If we don't speak out the truth, then we can't understand it.

If we don't say, then we will never know.

The account book that you gave to the Cabinet

though it didn't have much fixings,

but when it came to 2 regions that you were in charge of,

we will knew immediately if we investigate a bit.

Our people's hatred is huge.

They report no answer.

This year, two provinces of Zhe had natural disasters

and were damaged by the Japanese pirates, which was true.

But it was also true that

we won the battle and the Japanese pirates' property.

When two provinces of Zhe had natural disasters,

you didn't report to reduce the tax

but increased it,

which made our people homeless.

Then in the notebook that you submitted,

there were half of the taxation.

May I ask you, Sir Yan

the rest of another of half be in your private property

or in Ministry of Revenue's?

You!

You are slinging mud at me.

My whole life, I've devoted to the imperial court.

How dare I steal and make it my private property?

Your Majesty.

I always am a diligent and thrifty kind of person.

I am not greedy at all.

Now Sir Xu used

an unknown fake account book

to blindfold everyone.

I beg you to witness my dignity.

I remembered that Yan Shao Qiong

was nominated by Yan Master?

Mr. Yan.

Do you want to say anything?

Yes.

Initially,

when I let Yan Shao Qiong transfer the salt,

I was me who nominated him.

When he was still a imperial censor in Zuo Du,

I still thought that he would be a talent in keeping the country sustainable.

However,

these two account books

I...

knew nothing about them.

Servants!

Yes.

Imprison Yan Shao Qiong

for later investigation.

Yes Your Majesty.

I beg you, Your Majesty. I'm innocent.

Your Majesty.

Please, be wise Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

My dear Yan.

Yes, I am.

I command you to give a free three-year taxation

for two Zhe provinces.

I will do.

This cunning Xu Jing.

He dared trick us.

How did he get the account book for salt transferring?

It was me who didn't handle thing well.

These things

apart from the Imperial Guards, no one could do.

Lu Yi?

Lu Ting's son.

I underestimated him.

Take him here.

Yes sir.

Mr Yan.

How have you been thinking?

I neither stole nor robbed anything,

I have nothing to say.

You neither stole nor robbed

but you embezzled.

I heard that all the businessmen who sell salt, if they wanted their salt

to transfer in Liang Zhe Liang Huai,

Chang Lu He Dong,

they had to submit you a lot of money.

But you also made it harder for them.

That was why they hated you so much.

You must be really close to those salt sellers.

You let them do whatever they wanted.

Such as Si Ma Chang An in Hang Zhou.

What Si Ma Zhang An?

Don't sling mud at me.

To this point,

your life is in danger

and you still talk nice things about Yan Shi Fan?

I know.

You want to hold this against Yan Family.

Such a naive boy like you,

how can you defeat an old man like him?

Sir Lu.

I think you shouldn't waste your time.

You have to save yourself a way back.

Or else in the end, you will be the one who will suffer and die.

Such a courageous and loyal person you are.

Cen Fu.

Get the evidence for me.

Yes Sir.

Sir Yan.

Do you know this?

Bird gun?

What?

Are you going to kill me?

Sir Yan hasn't said anything.

I don't want to kill you.

But this gun for hunting bird

was what General Yu got

in the jungle camp of Mao Hai Feng.

I was just curious

so I asked for one from General Yu.

Surprisingly,

it played an important role.

Sir Yan.

Look at this metal spring.

Compared with the spring made by Si Ma Chang An,

they are exactly the same.

In this world,

there are numerous identical stuffs.

How can you tell that

these are from one place?

Sir Yan, you seem not to understand.

The iron mine that Si Ma Chang An exploited

has nothing alike with normal iron mines.

The stuffs made in that place,

just by looking at it, you will know.

If you don't believe me,

I can invite an iron worker

to come and check.

Si Ma Chang An.

A privately-exploited iron mine

makes gadgets and weapons,

using salt transferring as a cover,

and sneakily making connection with Japanese pirates.

Though after everything was revealed,

he actively admitted,

but you and I know that

the real Si Ma Chang An

is actually someone else.

I only collected the money, took the advantage.

If you report,

you can only say that I involved in a corruption.

I have never seen Si Ma Chang An, anyway.

Haven't seen?

If I report this to His Majesty,

to let him know there was a scheme between you guys,

how will you feel about this?

Lu Yi.

What do you actually want to do?

Tell me the person who's behind your back?

The crime of sneakily connecting with Japanese pirates,

you won't have to take.

Father.

Mrs. Yuan has just come to find Jin Xia,

she said that Jin Xia didn't go back for a night.

I had calmed her down and told her to go back.

She stayed out all night?

Yes.

Father.

You see, Jin Xia and Uncle Gai suddenly disappeared at the same time.

Could it be that

they sneaked in Yan mansion to rescue Aunt Lin?

Father, I sense something bad.

We're done.

Xia Er told me yesterday that

she doubted Ling Er wasn't kept in Yan's mansion

but in a private institute of Yan Family.

She wanted me to order my people to check up, but I disagreed.

Now it seemed that

they two guys sneakily investigated.

But,

but they had been missing for one night?

Father.

Might they be in danger?

If Xia Er

they were really caught by Yan Shi Fan's people,

with our people, we can't save them.

How about this?

You go find Sir Lu.

And ask him whether he has any ideas.

Father.

Now Jin Xia and Sir Lu are no longer together.

Will he agree?

First, you go find him, then we will talk later.

If he doesn't help us,

then we will find another way.

Yes.

Uncle Yang, Uncle Yang.

Xi Er.

Xiao Er.

Uncle Yang.

You guys are here.

Yang Yue.

Who do you want to seek help from?

Helping what?

Now Jin Xia and Uncle Gai,

they had been missing.

We doubt that

they sneaked into Yan Family's private institute

to rescue Aunt Lin.

So we have been thinking of ways to rescue them.

Too risky.

Yang Yue.

Tell me where that private institute is.

I have to go and rescue Jin Xia.

Wait.

Is Yan mansion a place for you to mess up?

How about this?

We have to find Sir Lu first.

Father.

How is the case of Yan Shao Qiong going?

Father.

The case of Yan Shao Qiong,

I want to investigate for a few days more.

Why?

The situation that Yan Shi Fan's connecting with the Japanese pirates,

I haven't found the effective evidence.

This Yan Shao Qiong,

is the one that Yan Shi Fan trusts the most.

He has also involved in Si Ma Chang An's case.

I want to start with him first.

Though Yan Shao Qiong has a habit of being greedy,

he has the origin of a palace graduate.

How literate and noble can he be?

Moreover,

his wealth is from Yan Family.

So if you want him to tell the truth,

it will be a hard task.

If we can't pass Yan Shao Qiong which is key figure,

but we want to get the guilt evidence of Yan Shi Fan latter on,

I fear that it would be more challenging.

No, you can't.

Father.

Are you okay?

You can't.

His Majesty understands so well the difference between you and Yan's party.

His Majesty is suspicious.

If we use the trick to get him admit his crime,

we will be counterattacked.

The best course of action now is to silently observe.

I understand.

I won't act recklessly.

Father.

Now it's getting cold.

Your health is not good.

These complicated stuffs,

I can handle them for you.

Okay.

Sir Lu.

Sir Lu.

Miss Shang Guan.

When did you come to the capital?

A few days ago.

Xi Er, stop say hello.

Let me tell Sir Lu our aim.

What's wrong?

Jin Xia'd been missing.

When?

Last night.

Could it be that

she went to rescue Doctor Lin?

You're right.

Yesterday, she found the place where they kept Aunt Lin

in Yan Shi Fan's place.

Then she begged my father

to investigate the private institute of Yan's mansion on behalf of Imperial Police Department.

But my father turned her down.

I guess that she is now

trapped in that place together with Uncle Gai.

she even dared sneak in Yan Shi Fan's mansion.

How reckless she is.

Sir Yan.

Sir Lu, what are your purpose

of coming here this time?

Did bailiff Yuan come here

to find Doctor Lin?

No, she didn't.

Sir Lu.

Why did you suddenly ask about bailiff Yuan?

What happens to her?

I heard that few days ago,

Sir Yan took Doctor Lin away.

You are an imperial guard,

if you want to investigate, you need to show the evidence.
