[The Wolf]

[Episode 2]

Treating illness for me

is the honor

of your life.

Lieutenant Xia Hou is attacked by assassin.

Chase the assassin.

See who he is.

Yes. General.

You two, guard the door.

Let's go chase him.

Yes.

Father.

Why is this happening?

Lieutenant Xia Hou is assassinated.

Lieutenant Xia Hou

is the sworn brother of His Majesty.

Manager Wang.

I'm here.

What is this?

I...

I was going to serve the Lieutenant.

Then I saw Lieutenant

fighting with the wolf monster.

All of a sudden,

he's dead.

Castellan.

Castellan.

It's my fault.

I shouldn't listen to

the lieutenant

and go to the Wolf Hunt Mountain and hunt for young wolves

to treat the Lieutenant's illness.

I think...

I think I must draw the wolf monster

down the mountain

to attack the lieutenant.

The wolf monster went down the mountain.

We're not sure if this is

the wolf monster's doing.

But the murderer behaves strangely.

It behaves like wolf, unlike any human,

it crawls on the ground

and rescues the young wolf.

I can assert by one look

that he's just

a savage-like teen.

Father.

Has any hunter

seen the wolf monster in person?

He's like a wolf and a person.

He must be the wolf monster.

For sure.

His Majesty will arrive at Kuizhou in a few days.

We must investigate this speedily.

We must find the real murderer

before His Majesty arrives.

Assistant General Ma,

assemble the soldiers.

Pursue the murderer.

Find out the truth.

This man can hide from the guards

and sneak into Ma Mansion stealthily.

He murdered Lieutenant Xia Hou

who was highly skilled in martial arts.

He must be very skillful.

Be careful.

Remember.

I'm taking the soldiers on the mountain immediately.

I will capture the savage.

Be careful.

He is a person.

He's also much

fiercer than a wolf.

If we can't find the murderer,

we cannot

answer to His Majesty.

Yes.

Hurry.

Prepare to go to the mountain.

Brother Feng Cheng.

What happened?

Princess.

Why's the big scene?

Princess.

Something happened in the mansion.

Wolf monster from the mountain

has murdered the lieutenant.

We must apprehend him now.

Impossible.

Suspecting the wolf monster

because of his human-like appearance

and wolf-like nature.

But his motive

is to rescue the young wolf

that the lieutenant wanted to eat.

Why is the Princess so anxious?

What does she have to do with his?

Castellan,

the cause of death

is indeed the fracture of his throat

that blocked his breath.

It's my fault.

I shouldn't listen to the lieutenant

and go to the mountain

to hunt young wolf for him.

When we caught the monster,

we must kill it with no mercy.

He's not the wolf monster.

Enough with the nonsense.

Zhai Xing.

Princess.

Father.

There must be some kind of misunderstanding.

The boy who behaves like wolf

that you're talking about.

He's no monster.

He looks like wolf

because

he was raised up in the wolf pack.

How do you know this?

You know him?

He...

He's the friend that I wanted to

introduce you.

I can only confess to you

at this stage.

The so-called wolf monster

is staged

by me.

Ma Zhai Xing.

You're the on behind this.

Explain yourself.

I was going to

tell you

when the lieutenant left.

You...

I learn how to make medicine

from Uncle Wang.

I know how to make ecastasy incense.

It can produce hallucination in people

and make them think they saw wolf monster.

We don't want to hurt anyone.

I only hope

that I can protect the wolf pack

from the harm of the hunters.

Such absurdity.

I won't look into

your trick for now.

But he murdered the lieutenant.

He's already a major criminal of the court.

I can't let him go away with his.

No.

Father.

Wolfie would never

hurt anyone.

Father.

I beg you.

Father.

I beg you.

Father.

Don't send people on the mountain to hunt him.

He'd be scared.

He just started

to believe in people.

Can you let me go up the mountain

and ask him what happened?

Shut up.

This

is payback for fooling me.

That wolf monster

murdered Xia Hou Lieutenant.

This is seen by father,

Uncle Wang

and everyone.

This is solid evidence.

Your brother is right.

I wouldn't lie to you.

But...

Maybe..

There's some misunderstanding

in this.

He's not evil.

Can you guarantee

that he's not brutish in nature?

Can you guarantee

that he won't hurt anyone

just to protect

the young wolf

or even murder anyone?

I believe him.

Though he has that wildness in nature,

I spent a period of time

with him.

He would never

claim other's life without a cause.

Zhai Xing.

Isn't this enough?

You spread rumors

and make the whole Kuizhou

nervous.

You pretend to be selfless

and make the decision to seal the mountain

by lying to your brother.

Now someone's life is taken.

And it was His Majesty's

sworn brother.

Don't you know

that this is going to bring

catastrophe to the Ma family?

And by now,

you're still

on his side.

I won't let you

get more involved in this.

I must capture the wolf monster alive

and sentence him with justice.

If he didn't do it,

I would give him justice.

If it is him

who killed Lieutenant Xia Hou,

I would take his life

and reclaim innocence to Ma family.

Father.

Wang Xiang.

Castellan.

Take her down.

Father.

Father.

Take her.

Princess.

Father.

Let's go.

Father.

Go.

Father.

Princess.

Father, he's not a monster.

He's only a kid

who knows nothing.

Manager Wang,

let me out.

Manager Wang.

Princess.

Please introspect your mistake.

This has gone too far.

You better be quiet for a while.

Manager Wang.

Wait.

Can you do me a favor?

Can you tell me the situation

of Father's hunt?

Princess.

I'm afraid

I can't do this for you.

Castellan will do him justice.

Manager Wang.

Manager Wang.

I haven't finished yet.

Come back.

Manager Wang.

Manager Wang.

Is Wolfie hurt?

Is he scared?

Manager Wang.

Manager Wang.

Come back.

I believe father.

But does any of you believe

that a child

adopted by wolves

can be kinder than us?

Do any of you believe that?

Let me out.

Open the door.

Open the door.

Let me out.

Guards.

Find the wolf monster.

Seems like the cave is right in front.

He's hurt.

He won't get far.

There are footprints.

We can't let him go this time.

Follow the noise.

Quick.

Over there, in front of us.

Follow up. Quick.

Over there.

Got him.

Over there.

Quick.

Take them all down.

The wolf pack is here.

The wolf pack is here to help.

Will there be wolf monster?

Assistant General, what should we do?

They are just normal wolves.

We have nothing to be scared of.

There's no wolf monster here.

The wolf is afraid of fire.

If we encounter the wolf pack,

use the fire against them.

If it gets dangerous,

shoot them.

We must catch the wolf monster today

and bring it back.

Yes.

They retreat.

I wonder if the savage

can give orders to the wolf pack.

He's no ordinary savage.

He can even order the wolf pack.

Ready.

No.

Xiao Feng.

Princess.

Are you okay?

I'm alright.

Xiao Feng.

Do you have news about

Wolfie?

No.

But His Majesty sent

a message

saying that he'll be here soon.

I heard

that His Majesty ordered Castellan

to catch Wolfie

and kill him.

I did this to him.

It's my fault.

I shouldn't make up

the lore of the wolf monster.

I shouldn't bring him down the mountain.

I did this to him.

Princess.

Don't blame yourself.

You can't foresee that

Wolfie can kill someone.

You don't want this.

There's must be something that we didn't see.

Or else,

he wouldn't hurt someone.

Xiao Feng.

I promised him

when I gave him the wolf tooth necklace

that I will protect him.

He trusted me.

Unless you can prove his innocence,

or else how can you protect him?

I'm afraid before I find out about the truth,

he would be dead.

I have only one choice.

Xiao Feng, can you help me?

I grew up

with you.

You don't see me as a servant.

Instead,

you took care of me like I'm your sister.

For you,

I'm not even scared of the law.

Xiao Feng.

Thank you.

I must go to the mountain.

I must let him leave.

Princess.

The Ma Troop

brought so many soldiers up the mountain.

I think Wolfie

might leave early.

No.

Wolves don't hide

when they're in danger.

What I'm most afraid of is

that he would worry that I can't find him.

So he wouldn't leave.

What should you do then?

I can only make my determination and

force him to go.

The wolf pack wanted to attack.

They came to rescue and turned back.

It was Wolfie

who warned the wolf pack

not to get into conflict with us.

He rescued the young wolf alone.

He sacrificed himself and protected his friends.

I heard Wolfie has a heart

but I didn't believe it.

Now I'm impressed.

But he is

the murderer who killed the lieutenant.

If he wasn't the murderer, I can assure you

that Castellan will praise him

as one of the best general

he has seen.

Such a shame.

I heard they caught the wolf monster.

Is this the wolf monster?

Yes, it's him.

Xing Er.

Xing Er.

Don't let it run away.

Wolfie.

Wolfie.

Wolfie.

Wolfie.

Xing Er.

Don't move.

Wait for me there.

How are you injured?

I ask you.

How are you injured?

Did you do something wrong again?

Are you behaving yourself?

Do you know

the soldiers all over the city

are hunting you?

Everyone deemed you the murderer.

You can't stay in Kuizhou anymore.

Tr...

...Trust.

I trust you.

You trust me.

We believe in each other.

Understand?

I did say

Xing Er and Wolfie

will trust each other forever.

But now,

what can trust

do for us?

You're in danger.

Doesn't your life matter anymore?

Go.

Since you're in danger.

Leave Kuizhou.

Leave Wolf Hunt Mountain.

As far as possible.

Don't stay for me.

Listen up.

From now on,

I got nothing to do with you.

Understand?

Don't follow.

You won't leave, will you?

I regret.

I regret being your friend.

I regret that I brought you down the mountain.

Don't you know

that you're a freak?

How can I make friends

with a freak?

Don't be kidding.

If they know,

they'll think that I'm your accomplice.

If you don't go,

you'll get me involved in it

and pull me down.

Piss off.

Go.

Wolfie is not monster.

Wolfie is a person.

Xing Er trusts Wolfie.

Xing Er.

Protect Wolfie.

Don't go.

Don't make a fool of yourself.

I make friends with you

because I was lonely.

I just want

to play with you.

A playmate grew up with wolves.

Such a spectacle.

So special.

I don't need you anymore.

Get lost.

Piss off.

Go.

If you don't go,

I'll get someone to catch you

and your wolf mother

and your wolf brothers.

Piss off.

Go to the mountain.

His Majesty will be here in a few days.

If we don't catch the wolf monster,

the whole Kuizhou

will be involved.

Yes.

Search!

Wolfie.

Don't return here.

I'm incompetent.

I caught the murderer,

but I was careless

and let him get away.

This boy is not like a normal human.

His strength is massive.

How about this.

I'll go with you

tomorrow to hunt.

Father.

His Majesty is about to arrive.

You shouldn't leave Ma Mansion.

How about I lead the team

and help brother Feng Cheng?

I have engaged in fight with

that savage.

I know about him.

Now it's time

for me to help.

Good.

You can

train yourself

by doing this.

But,

don't act on your own.

Listen to Feng Cheng's command.

Yes, father.

Be assured.

I will follow the order

from Assistant General Ma

and catch that savage.

Go prepare for it.

Young Master.

You are mature.

You share Castellan's concern

willingly.

You forgot

that I was scared

by that monster.

If I can catch that monster

and take his head,

not only can I

make contributions to father,

but I can also piss off

Ma Zhai Xing.

Kill two birds with one stone.

Wolfie,

you won't be there when I go to the mountain

and ring the bell.

You must hate me.

But it's okay.

What's important is

that you left Kuizhou.

Princess.

His Majesty will arrive today.

Castellan said

that you're allowed to leave the room

and welcome him.

But he hopes

that you wouldn't mention your relationship with Wolfie.

Or else His Majesty will be suspicious

and blame you for it.

Rest assured.

I won't let him worry.

But I will

find out about this soon

and give Wolfie his innocence.

Xiao Feng, what happened to you?

Are you unwell?

I don't know.

The other day the kitchen

used some kind of herb.

I feel nauseated

when I smell it.

Herb from the kitchen?

What kind would it be?

I recalled it.

It was Li Hu.

Li Hu?

Don't worry.

It's fine.

The smell of it

is prone to cause nausea.

It's just...

Xiao Feng.

I want to go somewhere.

Castellan.

Assistant General Ma has gone out for some time now.

They will catch that savage.

You should return to the mansion and rest.

I'm worried that

if we can't catch the murderer,

His Majesty will bring his anger

upon the citizens of Kuizhou.

Ma Ying,

you're still impressive.

I have to shoot multiple times

to take your life.

Greeting, Your Majesty.

Long Live Your Majesty.

Long Live Your Majesty.

I didn't know that Your Majesty would arrive in advance.

I didn't welcome you.

Please...

Did Xia Hou Yi die in your mansion?

I'm willing to take the punishment.

Get inside and report.

I'll decide

whether you're guilty or not.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Princess.

What are you doing in

the lieutenant's room?

The servants said that

these are left

after Wolfie and the lieutenant fought.

Princess.

Castellan has ordered

that no one should enter the room

before His Majesty comes to

investigate.

Let's leave.

Princess.

Is there something wrong with this soup?

No.

This is just a normal

nourishing soup.

But this is what's clever about it.

A bare-handed savage

could silently

sneak in your mansion

and killed Xia Hou Yi.

If it hadn't been you who witnessed in person,

I wouldn't have believed it.

Your Majesty, please forgive me for my dereliction of duty.

As a result, something regretful like this has happened.

I caught him.

I didn't expect the murderer has so much strength.

Not only did he escape the wooden cage on bare hand,

he fled the scene in seconds.

For real?

The world is so big

that we can rarely see such talent.

I want to go to

the mountain myself,

to meet this teen

who behaves like wolf.

Ma Ying.

Prepare the horse.

Let's go.

I understand.

Please, wait, Your Majesty.

Stop.

Back off.

I'm Ma Ying's daughter, Ma Zhai Xing.

I came to report to Your Majesty.

Zhai Xing.

Mind your manners.

Back off.

Father.

I have important things

to report to His Majesty.

Back off.

Your Majesty.

This case is wrongfully investigated.

Wolfie is innocent.

The murderer is someone else.

Zhai Xing.

Don't talk nonsense in front of His Majesty.

Ma Ying.

I want to listen to you.

If you have evidence,

I won't judge anyone wrongfully

or let the true murderer get away.

But if you were fooling me,

I would punish you heavily.

I understand.

Stand up and explain.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Stand up.

Your Majesty.

The day Lieutenant Xia Hou was assassinated,

he had soup that were mixed with Li Hu and Zan herb

after his dinner.

These are normal herbs.

Is there something strange about it?

This is what's clever about the murderer.

These two herbs are not toxic respectively,

so no one would suspect it.

But if the two are mixed together,

in the right way according to the rule of medicine,

the lieutenant

would paralyze

because his blood streamed backwards.

Manager Wang Xiang.

Here.

You know the rule of medicine best

in the mansion.

Is what the princess said

true?

Yes.

If Lieutenant Xia Hou was actually poisoned to death,

his body would leave

signs of poisoning.

To avoid this, the murderer used

the rule of medicine

so that the lieutenant

won't be left with signs of poisoning.

He would only lose his strength.

At this moment,

the murderer who couldn't beat the lieutenant before poisoning

could then take the chance and strangled him.

The murderer has predicted

that once the lieutenant's death is found out,

Ma family and Your Majesty

must investigate the murder.

So

the murderer wanted to deliberately mystify things.

He used the rumors of wolf monster

that spreads the city

and made the fake wolf claw's mark.

He leads the people

to misunderstand

that this case must be done by the wolf monster.

The murderer did not expect

that his plan went too real

that it drew the real Wolfie.

And then happened what father has seen.

You said like you're so sure of it.

Then who

has done it?

If this is like what you said,

the murderer must handle the medicine

inside Ma Mansion.

Ma family must use the wrong people,

so a tragedy like this would happen.

I beg You Majesty,

father,

to investigate the whereabouts of everyone

in the medicine room.

And,

Lieutenant Xia Hou had met

less than 10 qualified people before he was murdered.

We must investigate them one by one

to find out the murderer.

Your Majesty.

I think

my daughter is somewhat right.

I'm sending people on it right away.

Soldiers.

Enough.

I almost fooled

every single one of you.

I didn't expect

that I would lose to

a little girl.

Manager Wang,

why is it you?

It was me.

Take him.

Kneel.

In the whole Ma Mansion,

no one else

knows medicine and food

better than me.

Wang Xiang.

You...

Why are you so ruthless

that you killed relatives of royal family?

You've brought injustice to my family.

I have irreconcilable hatred against

Xia Hou Yi.

I only regret that I didn't kill him soon enough.

You hold grudges against him?

Back then at the end of the last dynasty,

it had been agreed that if the Li family

gave the throne to you,

you wouldn't kill them.

Nobody expected that Xia Hou

guessed your thoughts

and induced the Li family

into the Royal Palace

and killed the whole family.

It's a great misfortune

that this bastard wouldn't die.

My plan was

to kill this bastard first

and then make everyone in Ma Mansion

suffer because of it.

Your Majesty.

I was careless.

I took in the conspirators in my house.

Please punish me.

Ma Ying.

Your carelessness

almost brings disaster to yourself.

Though Xia Hou Yi's case

is clear,

you can hardly absolve yourself from the blame.

I order you to redeem yourself through good services.

As for this person,

you know what to do.

I understand.

Let me escort you to the temporary palace.

No need.

Clean your house up.

Ma Ying.

Yes.

Your daughter is impressive.

The daughter outdoes

the father.

Farewell, Your Majesty.

Return to the palace.

Farewell, Your Majesty.

Zhai Xing.

I was wrong.

I was wrong about Wolfie.

Quick.

Go find your brother.

Stop the hunt.

Yes.

But I'm afraid Wolfie

has already left.

What if he didn't?

I'm concerned that

they'll hurt him.

Go.

Save him.

Quick.

Xing Er.

Drink this wine.

Face the death.

If Castellan does the job,

I'm willing to accept my death.

What do you mean?

If it wasn't for the mercy

of Castellan,

Princess Ping Yuan

and her son in the womb

would have been long gone.
