Why should I save you?

I am the young master of the Yuan family of Nanyang.

You'll be rewarded if you save me.

The Yuan family of Nanyang?

Yuan Zi Jun?

Are you Sister Zi Yuan?

Sister Zi Yuan, save me!

Sister Zi Yuan, why are you here?

You're getting prettier.

It's improper for a man and a woman to be intimate.

Stay away.

Who are you?

I am Yang Xiao.

I am Yuan Zi Jun.

All right. All right.

Zi Jun,

why did you come here to hang upside down

instead of staying in your residence?

I'm here to hunt.

I wanted to stand at a higher place

to explore the landscape.

Don't care about that.

So Sister Zi Yuan,

why are you here?

We're just passing by while escorting.

Pass by?

Do you want to come to my place?

Okay.

I'm not asking you.

What does it have to do with you?

Zi Jun, we were just talking

about visiting your place.

Sister Zi Yuan, let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Zi Jun,

what do you want to have for dinner?

You sure have grown since I last saw you.

Follow them.

[Yuan Residence of Nanyang]

Sister Zi Yuan,

be careful, watch your step.

Mother,

I'm back.

I brought a few guests here.

Who are they?

Greetings to Madam.

I'm Zi Yuan. I was passing by Nanyang on an escort mission.

I'm grateful for your kindness.

[To Madam Hong]

[Hong Xiu Jun, Bai Yin Ruo's aunt]

[Greetings to Madam Hong. I'm Yue Zi Yuan...]

It's hard for you to handle the entire escort team.

Just come to me if you

need any help.

Thank you, madam.

This is...

I am Yang Xiao, greetings to Madam Hong.

Second son of the Yang family.

Such a young hero.

Young Master Yang, you've come a long way.

We, the Yuan family, warmly welcome you.

However, we are only managing a small business.

I'm afraid we can't help you.

Madam Hong,

I haven't mentioned the business I offer.

I'm here to...

Nanyang is close to the capital city.

I know a thing or two about

Guiyue's new trade route.

Zi Jun,

I'm tired.

Ready the rooms for these two guests.

Sister Zi Yuan, let's go.

Come.

Thank you, madam.

Stop there!

Who are you?

What do you want?

What do we want?

Where are you going alone, young lady?

Do you need us to accompany you?

Rascal!

I'll report to the court if you come near.

It's far away from the court.

Just go and report.

Young lady, you have such soft skin.

As long as you make us happy,

we'll keep you safe along the way.

Don't even think about it.

Where does this guy come from?

Buzz off!

Let's go!

My knapsack.

Miss Bai,

forget it, at least you're safe.

How can these people treat me like this?

The world is dangerous.

Miss Bai certainly won't know it

as you don't get out much.

But Young Master Yang,

why are you here?

I... I was just passing by.

Miss Bai,

maybe I should escort you back to the capital city.

It's too dangerous for you to be out here alone.

No, I'm out here to

search for inspiration.

Moreover, I have to serialize my book.

I need to find Yang Xiao as soon as possible.

Yang Xiao and the others should reach

the Yuan Residence in Nanyang by now.

Maybe I can take you there.

Okay.

Let's go.

Rest assured, Sister.

I'm good at gathering information.

I will never get you into trouble.

All right. Go ahead.

Sister Zi Yuan, Sister Zi Yuan. It's me.

Why are you here?

Why are you sneaking around?

Don't get mad.

I came to your room

to send you some food.

Come in.

What's wrong, Sister Zi Yuan?

Are you in a bad mood?

I...

Zi Jun,

I need you to do me a favour.

Finally,

you ask for my help.

Just say it.

I, the Little White Dragon of Nanyang,

will do anything for Sister Zi Yuan.

All right, quit showing off.

I need you to put on a little show tomorrow.

Just say that you want to marry me.

I've always wanted to marry you.

I've had this idea for years.

I'll marry you.

I'll make you fall in love with me.

Believe it or not, I'm going to tie you up

and take you back to the forest if you keep going on.

Then what is that show about?

Am I the main character?

You're not the lead, you're a special guest.

Then who is the main character?

Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao?

Why is Yang Xiao the main character?

He...

He... he is an extra at most.

Shut up if you don't wish to

go back to the forest.

Good boy.

So this is the storyline.

Young Master,

why am I the only one who got bitten by mosquitoes?

Because I have a good character.

Young Master, you've been waiting for two hours.

What's wrong with Madam Hong?

We are on our back foot as we ask her for help.

Moreover,

nothing can be solved with just one word.

We need to be more patient.

The Yuan family is the first step of our operation.

Only success is allowed.

But we could do nothing with Madam Hong.

Young Master, what do you suggest?

I have a way

but it's risky

yet the most efficient.

What is it?

You'll know by then.

Prepare some liquor from the Yuan winery.

There'll be a show at Chunfeng Pavilion tonight.

Let's build the stage for Yue Zi Yuan.

[Chunfeng Pavilion of Nanyang]

Young Master, I've asked around.

It's similar to your prediction.

Due to the epidemic,

the Yuan winery's business

is deeply affected.

It's said that good wine needs no bush,

but what if we sealed the alley.

Let's see how they sell their liquor.

The show is about to begin.

You have to play your role well.

You'll be rewarded if you play well.

Rest assured.

I'm confident about my acting skill.

I'm a professional actor.

Okay, have you memorized your lines?

Yes.

I'll get straight to the point

as my time is precious.

Young Master Yang,

actually, Sister Zi Yuan is my fiance.

Really?

I heard you've been having a thing for her.

I'm sorry.

You will have to avoid gossip from now on.

Then when did you get engaged?

Why didn't I know it?

It was three years ago.

The time when Zi Yuan's family was in trouble,

Aunt took her back to the residence.

So you guys had an engagement

right after your aunt took her in?

Of course.

Do you have any gift to prove it?

There's a pair of jade pendants in Hong Residence.

Aunt took it as the betrothal gift.

Each of us got one.

Then when did you get engaged?

I've told you it was eight years ago.

Aunt arranged it for me.

When was the proposal? Whose proposal is it?

It was my proposal.

When will you guys get married?

A good day in the middle of next month.

Who taught you to lie to me?

Sister Zi Yuan.

Young Master Yuan,

you just memorized the lines, right?

Yue Zi Yuan, your apprentice

has average talent.

You, his master, aren't that great at teaching him.

Your cover is blown after just a few words.

Why are you being talkative?

Why do you care? Who do you think you are?

I'm going to marry Sister Zi Yuan anyway.

Right, who do you think you are?

I'm going to marry Zi Jun anyway.

I wish you happiness.

Here, a toast to you.

I know what you're trying to do.

I'll drink it for him.

Yue Zi Yuan,

do you think he is a lightweight?

Sister Zi Yuan, I'm fine.

I'm a man.

He underestimates me.

I, Yuan Zi Jun,

am a man who grew up in the winery.

Really?

Man?

Then this small cup

won't match your large capacity.

Let's switch to a larger bowl.

Man who grows in the winery,

here, a toast to you.

I'll drink it, I'm not afraid.

Young Master can hold your liquor.

Here, let's continue.

One more bowl.

He's my man. I'll drink it for him.

I suddenly thought of one thing.

Young Lady Mu Yun came to Nanyang from the capital city.

Liu Tiao had been telling me that

she wanted to ask me out.

Why did she ask me out?

She asked me out for a drink, for tea,

for a talk.

To accompany each other late into the night.

I kept rejecting her.

But now,

I'm in Young Lady Mu Yun's territory,

Chunfeng Pavilion.

Don't you think it's impolite

if I reject her?

I see you guys are really happy.

Then you can enjoy your life here.

I'll excuse myself.

Young Master,

Let's put on the show for Mistress with me.

Talking through the night? I...

Didn't you claim that you're a great actor?

Sister Zi Yuan, I'm an idol.

You're too demanding on acting.

Men are all the same.

Men are liars.

Men are fickle, caprice

and like to flirt.

I'm innocent.

Those who came are visitors.

The quality of this year's couplet is good.

Go and check the others.

Yes.

Mistress, it's been a long time.

Aren't you in the capital city?

Why are you here in Nanyang?

Young Master Yang,

I've been moving around to earn a living.

I have to look after my franchise

every year.

That's why I came here.

Are you still struggling to earn a living

after having many chain stores?

Those who run only a store

are already tied up.

You've opened many chain stores

and are still able to run every one of them well.

I really admire you.

Why are you alone today?

Where's your female chief?

My young master will flirt with her after flirting with you.

Don't talk about her.

Today, we'll only talk about poems.

Then would you try your skills

at our annual couplet challenge?

This couplet has been hanging there for over half a year.

No one has completed it.

Is that hard?

Then I'll give it a try.

"A dragon is carved from a ten-inch cage."

"It has seven bells, two bulges, five ridges and four holes."

As expected, it's exquisite in all of its nine facets.

The two ice pearls are chiselled from six icicles.

The three copper coins, four soldiers, and four zithers

are signified by the eight pearls.

As for "a thousand white heads,"

it should refer to the Lilac.

"A line of a thousand miles." It must be referring to a kite.

Impressive!

"Fragrant Red and Lucent Green, both heavenward fly."

Young Master, I know this.

This must be referring to some kind of flower.

Didn't I tell you to shut up?

Everyone might think it's a kind of flower.

Actually it's not.

This refers to

a unique kind of metal in Guiyue state.

It's greenish-red.

If it's forged into a weapon,

it'll be incredibly sharp.

Young Master, you're amazing!

Young Master Yang is a handsome gentleman

and is well-educated and articulate.

I'm impressed.

Meeting an old friend in a foreign land is one of life's happiness.

I wonder if you would favour me with a few drinks.

Can Mistress show me the way?

Young Master Yang, please.

Young Master, how about Miss Yue?

Treating her in her own way.

Young Master, you're touchy.

Go!

What a hearty meal.

Miss Yue, our Young Master said

he'd have drinks with Mistress Mu Yun tonight.

He'll talk about it next time if there's anything.

And

they should be drinking happily now

downstairs.

As if I have a lot of free time.

Zi Jun,

we were here to have drinks tonight,

right?

Right, today we're going to

drink ten more bowls.

Would ten bowls be enough?

We'll drink 100 bowls, cheers!

Come on.

You mustn't drink anymore.

No!

Yang Xiao, he is a player!

Yang Xiao is a scumbag!

Yang Xiao is a rascal!

Right!

That's why

I think the worst phrase in life

is "unrequited love."

Young Master, Miss Yue is drunk.

This Yue Zi Yuan.

Young Master, I think

Miss Yue is jealous of you.

You've only been gone for less than an hour,

and she's already drowning her sorrows.

Mistress, I'll go check on her first.

I'll excuse myself.

Let's go.

Yang Xiao

is so in love with Yue Zi Yuan.

But the word I like the most is

"reunion".

Yang Xiao, look.

Look.

Godmother

treats me well.

Look.

Yin Ruo

is like my own sister.

Right?

Yang Xiao, we can't be together.

Oh my god!

What are you talking about?

You...

Come here.

Come here.

Come here. Let me tell you.

Yang Xiao,

I can't do this to Yin Ruo.

Do you know that?

So I can't like the person I like,

right?

Yue Zi Yuan,

why do you care who I like?

I...

Do you like me?

I like you.

No, that's not it.

I mean,

I don't hate you.

I don't hate you.

Yue Zi Yuan, let me ask you.

Do you like me or not?

I do like you.

Yue Zi Yuan, since you like me,

you're speaking without proof.

How about issuing a written promise?

What written promise?

Yue Zi Yuan likes Yang Xiao.

I don't want to.

Then I'll make a mark on you if you refuse to

issue a written promise.

Sister Zi Yuan! Sister Zi Yuan!

Zi Jun,

why are you coming to Zi Yuan's room this late?

I'm worried that she'll feel sick after drinking so much.

I'm here to take care of her.

Whether she feels sick or not,

she doesn't need your concern.

Go back to your place.

Go!

How dare you?

This won't hurt her.

Why are you being stingy?

Zi Yuan is my wife.

Just go back to your room! Go!

What makes you think that?

This is the Yuan Residence.

My territory, my call.

So you want to play, right?

The air is fresh.

Am I

missing something?

Wake up!

Get up!

Yang Xiao, Yuan Zi Jun!

What's going on?

Why are you two sleeping here?

Sister Zi Yuan, did you sleep well?

What do you want to eat?

I'll ask Liu Tiao to prepare it for you.

You guys...

I have to go now.

So do I.

It's my honour.

Madam Hong, you have the leisure

to prepare such an exquisite tea for me.

I had

made myself clear that day.

Why are you making things difficult?

Madam Hong, from what I've known,

your business in these few years is going down.

The main market of the Yuan winery is the capital city.

It's competitive,

and you're taking the official pathway.

It'll cost you time and money.

Not to mention the cargo loss.

I'm guessing you've been

living off your savings in the past few years?

But it's all right.

Once Guiyue's new trade route is opened,

all of your problems will be solved.

It's beneficial to you.

Everyone would fight for what's beneficial.

Why would I refuse if there isn't any trick?

Of course there are challenges.

But as long as we put in the effort,

we'll overcome the hardships.

I believe

nothing is impossible.

Zi Jun is my only child.

What do you think of him?

Your son is handsome and smart.

He will be successful in the future,

just like you.

I'm old.

But I'll leave our Yuan family's business

to him sooner or later.

If you can convince him to support you,

we will collaborate with you.

It's a deal.

It's a deal.

Impossible, don't even think about it.

I will never collaborate with you.

Unless

you let me have Sister Zi Yuan.

Okay, I promise you.

Really?

That's great, Sister Zi Yuan!

We finally can get married.

Young Master Yuan,

since we've reached a consensus,

then the collaboration with the Yuan family...

Young Master Yang, no, brother Yang,

rest assured, I'm going to my mother now.

Good boy, go ahead.

Stop there.

You gave me to Yuan Zi Jun.

Take it easy!

This is a trick.

Why are you being jealous?

Who says I'm jealous?

You're not an object.

How can I simply give you away?

But you swore to Yuan Zi Jun he could have me.

I also swore that you were the prettiest lady in the world.

But if you're not,

what are my words

worth?

You...

Don't be mad.

It means you care about me

if you get mad.

I'll be glad too.

I'm mad at you for lying to Zi Jun.

Is that so?

Stop being proud!

Such an idiotic lie,

you can't fool Madam Hong

even you've deceived Zi Jun.

You underestimate my technique.

Beware of catching yourself.

Liu Tiao!

Thank you, Madam Hong.

You're welcome.

To express my sincerity,

we've prepared transportation and food for you.

This is a token that represents me.

The stores and manors of the Yuan family that you pass by

will give you all their help.

[Yuan]

Madam Hong, that's very kind of you.

I'm really grateful. I won't let you down.

Let's have a happy cooperation.

Let's have a happy cooperation.

Young Master, you're amazing!

You've signed the agreement.

[Collaboration agreement]

[Collaboration agreement]

Let me see it.

This is a confidential business.

Only the daughter-in-law of the Yang family can see it.

Do you want to see it?

[Collaboration agreement]

I'm not interested.

You were just lucky

to have Madam Hong's help.

What's the big deal?

Sister,

what's wrong?

What's wrong?

Sister, I've sent the gifts to every place

in Nanyang.

With Madam Hong's help,

everyone is expressing support

for Shenwei Armed Escorts and wishing us success.

Great!

Let's

hit the road if so.

Okay.

Sister Zi Yuan!

When are we setting out?

Young Master Yuan,

why are you coming with a knapsack?

I...

Of course I'm coming along with

Sister Zi Yuan and you guys.

That way, I can provide close protection to Sister Zi Yuan.

Good boy.

Our Zi Jun is really sweet.

It'll be great with you.

Then our journey won't be boring.

Of course.

Then

remember to bring my favourite snacks.

Our journey...

We will set out in four hours.

Young Master Yuan,

one knapsack would not be enough

if you want to tag along.

Go and pack your things.

That might not be enough.

Sister Zi Yuan,

I'll ask them

to prepare a huge carriage by then.

And pack the things you like to eat and play

in the carriage.

Then we can eat and

chat along the way.

Okay, no problem.

Just go.

Then I'll go and pack up first.

Remember to wait for me,

Mrs Yang-to-be.

We should pack up, too.

[Yuan Residence]

♫ By the old path ♫

♫ The green grass merges with the sky ♫

Yang Xiao,

he is despicable, shameless, and indecent!
