Sis, it's a bit crooked.

A little bit to the left.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

No, a little bit to the right.

Isn't this right?

Still not good.

A little bit to the left again.

Wait, did you bring your eyes with you today?

Left or right?

Can you make that clear?

Sis, Yang Xiao is here.

Sis, Yang Xiao is here!

-Stop shaking. -Sis, Yang Xiao is here!

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

What are you doing here?

I heard that you have completed Bai Yin Ruo's order.

Congratulations.

I am here today

to order a service.

What service do you need?

Never mind what service I need.

Here is

a deposit of 30,000 taels.

[Official Note of the Ministry of Revenue]

Don't think that you can tempt me with money.

I, Yue Zi Yuan, rather die than give in to you.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Sis, did I hear you wrong?

He is talking about 30,000 taels here.

I know, just shut up.

After the mission is completed,

I will pay you another 70,000 taels.

A yokel.

[Yue]

[Armed Escorts]

Please have some tea, Cash Daddy.

Let me, let me.

I will do it personally.

Young Master Yang Xiao, have some tea.

Shuan Zi, what's wrong with you?

The tea is too hot.

We can't burn our Cash Daddy here.

Young Master Yang, let me do it for you.

Okay, okay.

May I know

what service would you like to order, Young Master Yang Xiao?

Chief Yue, since you

think the price is acceptable,

let's talk about

the details of the service then.

Shenwei Armed Escorts can go anywhere,

except for the new trade route to Guiyue.

Chief Yue, we know each other quite well now.

Let's cut to the chase.

The new trade route is not a route that

you can just go as you wish.

Since you already knew that, Young Master Yang,

why bother to

make things difficult for me?

Are you having fun doing this?

I am not making things difficult for you,

I am helping you.

Helping me?

Look at the sign board at your door,

it's cracked.

And look at this table,

you don't even have a tablecloth.

And this chair doesn't even have a cushion.

I know you are rebuilding Shenwei Armed Escorts,

you need a lot of money to do that.

Me collaborating with you

is providing you the money you need, isn't it?

Yes, it's true that I need money.

But the new trade route is beyond our capabilities.

I am afraid I have to turn down your offer.

If this 10,000 taels are not enough,

I will add another 10,000 taels.

It's not about the money.

I am still turning you down even if you offer me one million taels.

Chief Yue,

Shenwei Armed Escorts

has been blacklisted by Guiyue State.

Except for the new trade route,

there are no other routes that you can take to go there.

The door is right there.

Remember to turn right when you leave.

Shuan Zi.

See yourself out!

I am sorry.

There are eyes and ears in my residence.

I don't want to have any scandal.

Sorry about this, Mr Yang.

It's fine.

It is my honour

to help you, Miss Bai.

You are too polite, Mr Yang.

You know that I rarely leave my residence.

I spend most of my time reading books.

It's lonely.

I have been working on a novel lately,

though due to my lack of life experience,

I have no choice but to do something like this.

Miss Bai, I am really touched by

your love of poetry and song.

I am willing to share

my life experience and insights that

I gained from my travels with you.

I hope it will help you in your writing.

Young Master, what is this?

Is this a lamp?

This is a carousel I bought from

Louisville in the south of the city.

Louisville?

Carousel?

Young Master Yang Xiao,

this carousel is the only thing you bought?

That seems quite petty, don't you think?

Liu Tiao, you don't understand.

This is called a small romance that's full of sense of ceremony.

When Zi Yuan sees this little gift,

she would surely be delighted.

And then agree to open the new trade route with me.

Young Master, I think you think too highly of yourself.

You don't believe me?

Let's go to Shenwei Armed Escorts now.

I will show you

how my charms work.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

He can fall asleep while standing.

Where are you touching? You pervert!

How could you hit me?

Where is Chief Yue?

Zi Yuan is practising martial arts inside.

Ask her to come out.

Tell her I have a surprise for her.

It'd better be a surprise.

If it's a shock, you'd better watch out.

Go after him! Don't let him get away!

Let's go!

"Those who open the new trade route to Guiyue will die."

[Yang Xiao]

Zi Yuan, thank goodness you are safe.

I'm glad.

Yang Xiao, let go of me!

Are you insane?

You are taking advantage of me again, aren't you?

I...

Let me tell you,

if you dare to touch me again,

be careful that I might shoot you.

I was worried that you were in danger.

I am in my house,

what danger could I be in?

[Yang Xiao]

If you don't want to end up like this piece of paper,

you'd better behave yourself.

A woman as fierce as you,

who knows if you might have any enemies?

It's none of your business even if I do.

Didn't I tell you not to show up here again?

Why are you here?

I know there are a lot of things you have never seen.

[Yue]

I found something in the foreign goods store today.

I bought it specially for you to learn new things.

What new tricks are you trying to pull?

What is this?

This is called a musical carousel.

Where did you get this from?

I have never seen it before.

From a common foreign goods store.

It's so pretty.

What is its name?

Its name is Four Pink Little Pony Trotting Around.

What a weird name.

You just made it up, didn't you?

How could I possibly make it up?

That's what it's called.

Is it?

Young Master, I saw nothing.

I just lost my vision out of a sudden.

Let's get out of here.

Come back!

Stop pretending to be blind. Get back to business.

Young Master, Shuan Zi and I went after him for several blocks.

It was very thrilling and exciting.

And then?

We lost him.

Yes.

You losers, get out of here.

What is going on?

What happened?

I acted anxiously just now because

I was worried that you were in danger.

I found

this in your yard.

It was likely dropped by an assassin.

"Those who open the new trade route to Guiyue will die."

[Fengya Pavilion]

Miss Bai, this is

the famous Fengya Pavilion in the capital.

Speaking of Fengya Pavilion,

more famous than it

is its owner, Sikong Mu Yun.

She is a very talented woman

and she is good in business.

Not only has she managed this shop

in the capital perfectly well,

she has also opened branches in Guiyue and Nanyang.

Every store's style is similar.

Mistress Mu Yun's taste is so unique.

Miss Bai, look.

Here hangs the new couplets that came out today.

And above them are the lantern riddles.

[What can't talk but will reply when spoken to?]

Prize will be given for whoever guess it right.

I didn't realise

there are so many interesting activities in Fengya Pavilion.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Inside Fengya Pavilion,

there are many delicious delicacies

from all over the world.

There are also the Manling dancers from Dongtao,

who are skilled in poetry and song,

as well as chess, calligraphy and painting.

Speaking of which, Ms Bai,

are you hungry?

Let me get you some desserts from Fengya Pavilion.

Their desserts are very famous in the capital.

Please wait here.

Is there anything new happening in the capital these days?

Story Of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort.

Have you read the book?

It's the recent best seller in the capital.

Of course I have read it.

But

I was very disappointed after reading it.

[Story Of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort

Although it is

a bestseller in the capital,

the author has completely failed

to capture the essence of the story.

What is the essence?

The essence of the story is

the love between them, of course.

-But look at it... -Mister.

I am a fan of this book too.

May I know

what you meant by

not capturing the essence?

Literature is not something

that can be explained with just a few words.

Come here, have a seat.

Sit down, let's take our time to discuss about it.

Come, sit down.

The love between a man and woman,

is all about one thing, genuineness.

Genuineness?

What is genuineness?

Miss, here.

Let's have a drink first,

let's get to know each other.

Isn't it natural for friends

to discuss literature with each other?

A toast to you.

I will drink first.

Please behave yourself, sir.

How dare you try to make a pass at

a decent girl in Fengya Pavilion?

Who are you? Mind your own business.

I think this man is Young Master Yang Zhuo.

So it's Young Master Yang. This is a misunderstanding.

We only had a cup of drink. Goodbye.

Let's go.

Miss Bai, are you all right?

I have an idea.

Yang Xiao,

your life will be out of danger,

as long as you don't open the new trade route to Guiyue, isn't it?

So you should just

be quiet and stay here in the capital.

What stupid idea is this?

No way.

My parents died on the new trade route.

Therefore,

I must find out

what really happened back then.

Besides, I heard that

Shenwei Armed Escorts

had taken that route before, hadn't you?

That is an inauspicious route.

Bandits are on a rampage there.

My father was killed by bandits

when he took that route back then.

Listen to my advice.

Stay away from it if you want to stay alive.

I don't believe in supernatural stuff.

Someone must have wanted them dead.

Therefore, I must find the murderer.

That's impossible.

My father was a good man.

He never offended anyone out there.

How could anyone possibly want to harm them?

Because they

took the new trade route to Guiyue.

So

they had threatened certain party's interests.

Although the location of Guiyue is geographically remote,

it's rich in natural resources.

To transport goods from here to the capital,

there is only one way that can be used,

which is the official road of Guiyue.

But this official road takes a long time, the cost is high,

so the ordinary civilian can't afford to take the route.

Over the years,

some people have been trying to open a new trade route.

But no one expects that...

The weak can't overpower the strong.

My parents were committed to this when they were alive.

It's kind of their last wish.

So I must fulfil their dream

and open the new trade route.

And haven't you always wanted to

restore Shenwei Armed Escorts ?

The timing is just right.

I believe that

you can open the new trade route to Guiyue.

You can take this route in future.

Zi Yuan, you have to have faith in me.

I can protect you.

Young Master Yang Xiao, you are handsome and suave.

Of course you can protect me.

Well, of course.

Why are you still here then?

It's getting dark out there.

For a man who is handsome and suave like me,

if I go out now,

what if there are bad guys

after my handsomeness out there?

All the more reason I shouldn't leave.

Are you going to leave or not?

I can leave,

only after you give me a kiss,

or

you agree to come with me to the new trade route.

Yang Xiao,

haven't you seen what

I have been doing all this time?

I don't care about the

old trade route or new trade route.

I want to do only one thing,

which is to let Yin Ruo marry you happily

and without any obstacle.

Open the new trade route with me then.

Or marry me and be my concubine.

Then, I will do as you want

and marry Bai Yin Ruo, what do you say?

Yang Xiao, listen to me.

Stop trying to flirt with me.

If you dare to hurt Yin Ruo,

I will not let you off.

But it's fine to hurt yourself like that

and hurt me too?

Leave.

Don't come to see me again.

Shuan Zi, see him off.

Miss Bai,

how can you drink with strangers?

What if he is a bad guy?

Mr Yang, you misunderstood.

I was discussing about the content of a novel

with that gentleman.

Do you know that I am really worried about you?

What's on a person's mind is not as simple as you think.

Mr Yang,

look what I found.

[Story Of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort

Where did you get this book from?

These are all made-up stories.

This is a best-selling book.

Every room in Fengya Pavilion has one.

Besides, not all novels are made up.

It may also be based on real life.

[Fengya Pavilion]

Mr Yang, do you want one?

I will give you one.

Mr Yang, let's call it a day.

I am going back to read this book.

Miss Bai, let me walk you home.

You just drank some wine,

I am worried about your safety.

[Bai Residence]

[Story Of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort

Untold story in the capital.

Yang Xiao is determined to open a new trade route to Guiyue.

[Book]

He threatened the female armed escorts to go with him.

Otherwise, he won't marry the eldest daughter of the Bais.

[Is this the scheme of the sinister female armed escorts]

[or is it Yang Xiao's strategy?]

I never thought a simple story like this could become popular.

Can I be as happy as she is

in the book?

Yin Ruo!

Yin Ruo, you are here.

Come, let's talk inside.

Never mind.

I came to see you today about one thing.

You mean that thing that happened the other night?

What happened that night was not what you think it was.

There is nothing happened between me and Yang Xiao.

Not that.

Recently, I heard that

the storyteller

has been telling the story of you and Yang Xiao.

I would like to know more about you two.

I heard that

you have a deal with Yang Xiao.

If you want him to marry me,

it will only happen

if you agree to marry him as his concubine

or take his job offer

to take a trip to the new trade route to Guiyue.

No.

Is this what the storyteller said?

That storyteller,

I am going to beat him when I see him.

Seriously.

Zi Yuan,

I really like Yang Xiao.

In the picture book that I've been working on lately,

the illustration of the leading man is based on Yang Xiao's image.

He is the leading man?

He is obviously the main villain.

Yin Ruo, why can't you see through him?

Don't worry.

I will complete the task given by Godmother.

I will help you find the man of your dreams.

But Yang Xiao is the man of my dreams.

Fine.

How about this?

I will take that trip with him.

I will get him to marry you.

I hope you won't regret it in future.

You asked Liu Tiao to call me over.

What do you want?

Didn't you say

you never wanted to see me again?

I came here for Yin Ruo.

Otherwise,

I would never come and see you again.

I hope you can reconsider it...

Love can't be forced.

Any moral imposition is unethical.

But now that you have got the deed back,

you don't

have to obey to Bai Yin Ruo anymore.

I will take your offer.

You can't go back on your words.

I promise to take that trip with you, but...

Really? That's great!

I will

protect you with my life from now on.

I will take that trip with you.

After we return,

you will marry Yin Ruo.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

This is going to be a dangerous trip.

Where are the people I asked you to recruit?

It's up to them whether they are willing to come.

Besides,

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

you are not escorting any valuable item at all.

What danger can there be?

Even if we really are in danger,

I have four words

that can keep you safe.

Which four words?

Please spare my life.

All right, stop wasting time.

We shouldn't miss the auspicious time.

Let's go.

Auspicious time? This isn't a wedding night.

This carriage looks like a wreck. I am not getting on it.

Liu Tiao,

go and bring our Yang family's carriage over.

No.

We might become targets there this time.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

We mustn't attract too much attention.

If you do that,

you'd be dead before you realise.

We have to keep a low profile.

Young Master,

there are benefits for taking this carriage.

Liu Tiao, drive the carriage.

Why me?

It's too bumpy.

Get your hands off of me.

Yang Xiao, let me tell you,

I haven't forgiven you.

Behave yourself.

Well, it's because the road you chose is bumpy.

Is that so?

Shuan Zi,

take care of our Young Master Yang Xiao

who's delicate.

Yue Zi Yuan.

Young Master Yang, rest assured,

I will protect you.

For millions of miles I seek you,

but you didn't care.

When you go to the toilet, I go with you.

When you eat, I eat with you.

When you sleep, I sleep with you.

Don't touch me!

Mistress, Young Master Yang has departed.

Good.

Go inform Xiang Xiang

to remain undercover by Manager Qian's side.

Start the operation.

Yes.

[Yang Xiao, whether I can take revenge or not]

[depends on you now.]

[You must hang in there.]

[You must not let me down.]

Goodness.

When are we

going to get to Guiyue with this wreck?

Don't worry.

Here's my plan.

You see,

this is where we are now.

[Capital, Yuan Residence, Xie Residence, Qingyue Mountain]

It takes ten days to get here,

then another 15 days to get here,

and another 25 days to get here.

[Qingyue Mountain]

It will only take us two months' time

to reach Guiyue.

Seriously.

It will take us only about 20 days if we take the official route,

yet you need to take 60 days.

Well, you will need to pay

ten times the toll for official route, right?

Since you have chosen to open up a new trade route to Guiyue,

you have to stay away from the official ones.

You have to be economical, don't you?

You sure got a point.

Thank you.

What is the background of this Yuan family?

Yuan Village.

You probably don't know this because you don't drink.

Yuan Village

is the largest wine seller in the country.

The Yuans' wineries are all over the country.

Madam Hong of the Yuans is my godmother's sister.

We can stay there

when we pass by.

According to what you said,

the Yuans,

in terms of strength and location,

they are suitable to be

the first stop of our new trade route to Guiyue.

How is your relationship with Madam Hong?

Do you think it's possible...

No.

You do know me best, Yue Zi Yuan.

I am only responsible for getting you safely to Guiyue,

I am not going to help you in your business.

I open the trade route,

while you open a new travel route for your armed escorts service.

It's a win-win cooperation for us.

Why not?

Don't be so petty.

What do you say?

The people you deal with

on your trade route are all legal businessmen.

My armed escorts work engages with people from both sides of the law.

We are different.

You leave me with no choice but to make the big move.

Give me some information about the Yuans.

Madam Hong is the head of household in Yuan family.

Madam Hong has a son named Yuan Zi Jun.

She dotes on him.

I am going to catch you.

Does that mean that I can get the Yuans' to work with me

if I can get Yuan Zi Jun to take my side?

How is your relationship with Yuan Zi Jun?

Can you get him to help me?

We are all right.

Zi Jun told me he wanted to marry me before.

And did you said yes?

I...

Why should I tell you?

Make a guess.

Help!

Help!

Is someone getting robbed?

-Help! -Let's check it out.

Shuan Zi, Liu Tiao, come on.

Help! Help!

Help! Help!

Help! Help!

Lady, pretty lady.

Save me, pretty lady.

Why should I save you?

I am the young master of the Yuan family from Nanyang.

I will pay you if you save me.

Yuan family from Nanyang.

Yuan Zi Jun?

You are Zi Yuan?
