"The Killing of Three Thousand Crows"

"Episode 4"

Fu Jiu Yun, you're good for once.

Even if I leave a scar on my face,

I won't ever apply your ointment.

A stinking turtle.

The turtle is reducing the swelling.

Congratulation on completing your meditation, Master.

My fellow apprentices of the sages,

at ease.

Yes.

Jiu Yun.

There was a great disturbance on the mountain yesterday.

I could hear it all the way inside the meditation chamber.

What happened?

Intruder breached inside the Temple of Artifacts.

The White Moon Mirror caught it.

When the mirror broke, the spell rebounded and kill the intruder.

The people from the Sage Seminary said...

it was the henchman of Dragon King.

What about the White Moon Mirror?

Why was it there to begin with?

I planted it on the way path to Temple of Artifacts.

The spirit that intruded...

was nothing but a mere Seahorse Spirit.

I knew it would go to essential part of Mount Xiangqu.

So I made some preparation.

Good.

I like the way you get things done.

Trust me,

the Seahorse Spirit was just a beginning.

Right now on Mount Xiangqu,

everything may seem peaceful,

but conspiracy is lurking in the dark.

What we are trying to achieve here...

involved the using of spiritual energy.

You know how it goes.

As for the matter,

not the just the Dragon King,

even if it were the other sage,

or even students from our ranks,

as long as they know too much details,

they will eventually...

I understand.

For the past few days,

our sacred mountain...

has welcomed two guests.

I have decided...

to hold a grand feast tomorrow.

We shall have the Banquet of the Mountain.

I wish for our guests...

to witness the greatness Mount Xiangqu has to offer.

Yes.

It's been hours.

What took the sages so long?

It's nice to be a sage.

Of course, they have a cosy life.

On Mount Xiangqu,

you don't even need to train hard.

As long as you have a good look,

the Master will still accept you as his apprentice.

I heard rumours about a lady that arrived lately.

She has the gorgeous look that mesmerizes the whole nation.

She must have come here knowing how to pique the Master's interest.

I heard she was once the princess of Li.

What was her name again?

She was...

I can't remember right now.

Princess.

Lord Jiu Yun.

I remember it now.

Her name is Xuan Zhu.

There...

I get it now.

Yan Yan.

I like you.

-Master Zuo! -Stop!

Run!

Qin Chuan?

Qin Chuan?

What is wrong with you?

I am fine.

After seeing that princess from Li,

it reminds me of my home.

I miss my people.

I understand.

I know you are from Li too.

Order from our supervisor,

send Princess Xuan Zhu and Master Zuo snacks.

I can do it for you.

Zi Chen.

I have a chessboard custom made for you.

It will be finished soon.

I know you prefer serenity.

So I picked this delicate lodge for you.

I can't see it anyway.

You will.

We came all the way here...

to get your eyes healed by the Master.

You will be staying here for some time.

After your eyes are healed,

we can go on a trip together.

The Jade Garden has a majestic view.

Healing my eyes?

Why haven't you mentioned this before?

Your father wanted me to keep it a secret from you.

My father wanted me to train on the mountainside,

and then he went back on his word.

With that said, I should be considered a dropout from this mountain.

The sages may seem to be desire-less, but they are petty.

Why would they heal my eyes?

Zi Chen, time is different now.

Your father only regretted it because he listened to my uncle.

I not getting any treatment.

I don't want you and my father to beg for his help.

The Master of Mount Xiangqu is known to be avaricious.

Did you bribe him with some treasure?

Is that why he agreed to treat me?

Why are you being so stubborn?

These are my eyes,

why can't I decide for myself?

Master.

Before I start a new life on the mountain,

I have one last wish.

Yan Yan is now a wanted fugitive nationwide.

And now you are sworn enemies.

She blinded your eyes.

You can never go back to the old days.

This is all thanks to my father.

Her whole family died in the rebellion.

If she ever sees me again,

she will hate me to her bones.

I do not blame her.

But you were never part of the conspiracy.

You were in the dark, just like her.

You are a victim as well.

She has no right to vent her anger on you.

She should hate me.

If I had known sooner my father was working for demons,

if I had known something was off,

if I had told her everything beforehand,

if I had...

It wasn't you fault.

Zi Chen, I am still here for you.

Forget her.

How dare you come to this place.

We were sister after all.

I won't make any demands.

But please don't make it hard for me and Zi Chen.

What's done is done,

do you still think blinding his eyes were the right decision?

The royal family of Li,

and all the people of Li were slaughtered.

Even with his eyes,

it's far from enough to pay for his father's crime.

Don't be foolish.

You are denying it,

but you are clearly feeling guilty.

Do you still expect...

Zi Chen to come all the way here just to apologize,

that you would forgive him...

and continue your love with him?

You've hurt him once.

If you truly love him,

please show him some mercy.

You are wrong.

Even if I don't hate him,

I will never forget...

how countless lives were lost...

thanks to the Zuo family's betrayal.

Today,

I am here to see him one last time.

Thank you.

Thank you for letting me know the truth.

From now on,

Zi Chen and I will be strangers.

We will never see each other again.

Fine.

I hope you won't forget what you just said.

Yan Yan.

From now on,

Zi Chen's life is my life.

I will make him forget you.

Zi Chen, forget about that.

The Master said this is nothing to be worried about.

Should fate wanted it, it can surely be healed.

Xuan Zhu.

I know how I lost my eyes,

I know it better than anyone.

Princess Xuan Zhu, Master Zuo.

Enjoy your meal.

Qin Chuan.

-Let's go. -Let's go.

This is a sacred mountain,

where do this flower of human realm come from?

-Princess Xuan Zhu. -Princess Xuan Zhu.

This is remarkable!

Remarkable work of art, a fine piece of masterwork!

I never would have thought...

such precious work...

could exist in this world.

This is astounding.

Great, great!

I will write a letter...

and inform Chancellor Zuo.

Rest assured,

I will pay attention...

to Young Master Zuo's condition.

Of course, I must thank him...

for such a priceless gift.

Princess.

Why are you kneeling down to me?

I have a request to make.

But first, you must agree to my request.

Yes, my lord.

I will make you my apprentice.

Only for the sake of my apprentice...

will I be willing to...

spend my spiritual energy and might.

Master, please accept my salutation.

Fear not.

This is the seal I place on my students.

From now on,

you are officially...

an apprentice of Mount Xiangqu.

Thank you, Master.

Why are you being so slow?

Xuan Zhu is taking Master Zuo to Ningbi Temple.

They are already on the doorstep.

Why aren't you prepared?

Also, the Master accepted Princess Xuan Zhu as his apprentice.

From now on, address her as "Lady Xuan Zhu".

Is that clear?

Yes.

Lady Xuan Zhu arrives.

This is where the dancing and singing...

take place during the gathering.

There is a zither here.

I have the men send it over to you.

Don't bother, I am not in the mood.

-Lady Qing Qing. -Sister Xuan Zhu.

-Lady Qing Qing. -Master Zuo.

Sister Xuan Zhu, there is a Pipa here.

There are some Li runes on it,

do you wish to have a look?

Rune of Li?

That should be great.

Will you have your men send it over to Zi Chen's room?

Sure, Sister Xuan Zhu.

My men will send it over later.

Thank you so much.

You are welcome.

What is that stench?

Stench of a servant.

Dismiss. Don't bother the peace of Lady Xuan Zhu and Master Zuo.

It's all right.

What's wrong? Little Liar?

What's with the pity look?

I am just a servant.

I don't deserve your concern.

Seeing how pity you are,

here, take this.

Keep it if you like it.

Take it.

You said you wanted me to have it.

I forgot to ask.

Judging by the pattern on this mirror,

Silver Swallow and Mighty Qilin,

if my memory serves right, this belongs to the royalty of Li.

Who would have thought?

This Little Liar...

came from the royal bloodline.

Of course not.

Can't you tell? This is a fake.

With your keen sight, I am sure you know that is a fake.

Every girl in Li has one of this in her room.

This is very common.

Besides, the royalty uses gold and gems.

It's much prettier than what I have here.

So,

your mother gave you a fake?

Of course, we were poor.

This is all we could have.

Lord Jiu Yun, I have a morning debrief.

I must go now.

They will cut my salary if I am late.

See you.

The mirror.

Thank you.

The awesome Jade Garden?

It's just a basin for me to wash my hair.

Who's there?

I am a servant. I water the plants in Jade Garden.

I am sorry to have bothered you. I'll leave now.

You are a servant?

Yes.

Come over here.

Miss!

Miss, I just wanted to know the way to Jade Garden.

Thank you.

-Thank you. -Master.

Follow the path north of Celestial Fountain.

That will take you to Jade Garden.

I am now carrying wound.

I am no mood for a tour.

Will you take me to my lodge?

I need to report back to Lady Qing Qing.

-Master, I have to go now. -I'll inform Lady Qing Qing.

What is your name?

Qin Chuan.

Qin Chuan.

Miss Qin Chuan.

The vessel you broke was a Nectar Flask?

I felt its opening.

I have one in my lodge.

Will you please take me back there?

You can have my extra flask...

so Lady Qing Qing won't punish you.

How does that sound?

Sure.

Let me get the medicine.

You don't know where it is. I'll show you the way.

I can do it myself.

Master Zuo, the zither is taking too much space.

-Let me move... -Don't touch it.

The medicine is over there.

I am sorry.

This zither...

used to be in this location of my house in Li.

An old friend gave it to me.

I don't wish to move it.

Master Zuo, you still think about your nation.

Do you miss the land of Li?

Li is no more.

I am keeping this item...

as a reminder of what happened,

what should be remembered,

and those I should forget.

Are you from Li as well?

Yes.

You have a nice voice.

It's just like my old friend.

I caught a cold this morning.

So my voice is a little rough.

I hope you won't mind.

Have we...

met each other before?

You feel so familiar to me.

Master, that can't be true.

I am merely a servant.

You are a noble,

I don't have the mean to acquaint you.

Perhaps you are right.

Ever since I left Li,

I've went through some changes.

Sometimes, there is this frustration in my heart.

It could be hard for people around me.

Master Zuo, you don't need to tell me these.

I don't know why I am telling you this.

But while talking to you,

I found some peace in my heart.

Master Zuo, the wound is dressed.

I should leave if there is nothing else.

Qin Chuan.

I wish to see your face.

Master Zuo.

I don't have a beautiful face.

I had too much water this morning.

I really need to use the washroom.

I should leave if there is nothing else.

Qin Chuan.

Raise your head.

Let me have a look.

Master Zuo.

I am sorry.

This is the only way I can see.

Qin Chuan.

You look beautiful.

How dare you!

You lowly, filthy and worthless servant!

How dare you seduce our respected guest!

I brought her here.

Lady Qing Qing.

Perhaps Zi Chen has order for her.

Please don't be mad at her.

I remember telling you...

not to bring anyone into this house.

Especially people with no manner.

You!

Zi Chen, you can't be so rude.

Lady Qing Qing,

is the owner of this house.

Qin Chuan.

Stand up.

You must be scared.

I apologize for that.

Master Zuo wants you to stand up,

so stand up.

Xuan Zhu.

Where is the Nectar Flask I gave you yesterday?

Give it to Qin Chuan.

She needs it to water the plants.

You may leave now.

Yes.

Lady Qing Qing.

Please come to my lodge later.

Poor Xuan Zhu.

I am sorry for the rudeness, Sister.

I hope you would forgive me.

Sister Xuan Zhu, that is not necessary.

We are both in the same school.

You are no outsider.

Sister, your rank is high above many,

I am sorry for what happened just now.

Zi Chen has a stubborn mind.

He became rash after he lost his sight.

He offends people sometimes.

You love him very deeply, I understand that.

I'll make sure to teach that servant a lesson.

It's all right, Sister.

I am glad to see Zi Chen...

is finally talking to someone.

I understand.

You have a kind heart.

Search the room!

Confiscate anything suspicious.

What's wrong?

What's wrong?

What Si going on?

Just in time. Arrest her!

Hold on.

They arrested her.

Lady Qing Qing.

Master Zuo was lost just now, so I sent him back.

And I broke the flask by accident.

So he gave me a new flask.

I believe you.

But I don't understand...

what I've done wrong.

Then reflect your mistake inside your prison cell.

-But... -Lock her up.

Lady Qing Qing, I was...

Zi Chen.

The bed is ready.

It's been a long day for you.

It's getting late, you should get some rest.

Take care of yourself.

I am sorry.

I am always yelling at you.

Zi Chen.

All this time,

life has been the hardest on you.

The moon is beautiful tonight.

I will kill all the demons of Tian Yuan.

I will cleanse this world of its demon plague.

Please, teach me your sorcery.

Help me search for the Spirit Lantern.

Help me avenge my nation,

save the people of Li.

Qin Chuan.

You talked about avenging Ah Man,

avenging your parents,

avenging the people of Li.

And now all your effort has gone down the drain.

You are caged.

How are you supposed to defeat the demons...

and save your people from turmoil?

My wife.

My wife.

Er Meng?

-Why are you here? -Listen up.

I am smart.

I heard you have been arrested when I went home.

Guess who I brought here.

Come on.

Lord Jiu Yun.

Lord Jiu Yun is really here to my rescue?

No, that is not why I am here. I am here to see...

the demise of this Little Liar.

You can see for yourself.

This is suffering.

Not only do I see it,

I...

can even tell what's on your mind.

I want to go out.

You must be thinking,

"I am such a fool,"

"I ruined my own plan..."

"for people that are not even important."

Isn't that right?

Lord Jiu Yun.

Please, help me.

Please get my wife out of there.

The two of us...

haven't had our wedding yet.

Come over here.

I think your wife here...

is enjoying her time inside the cell.

She might not want me to save her at all.

Why?

Things happen for a reason.

She is hoping for someone else to save her.

I...

would be taking credit from someone else.

Lord Jiu Yun, now is not the time for joke.

They sent me here for no reason at all.

There is no one I can rely on in the whole Mount Xiangqu.

Lord Jiu Yun, with you here,

it's like I am seeing Buddha the saviour.

Chuan, he is a sage after all.

Right.

You want me to save you?

What do I get from it?

I'll hand over this month's...

You can have all my salary from now on.

That's all?

You can have my body.

You are on your own.

No, Lord Jiu Yun!

I will do whatever you want,

I will never disobey any order you give.

-Lord Jiu Yun, please! -Fine.

I beg of you!

It's open, Chuan. You are free.

Let's leave.

Lord Jiu Yun, we have order from Lady Qing Qing.

We can't release this servant without her permission.

Not even if I am taking her with me?

Lord Jiu Yun, she offended Lady Qing Qing.

If you let her out now,

it would be hard for us to explain.

Indeed.

Chuan.

You offended my master's beloved student.

Since you offended her,

then so be it.

Okay, make way.

Make way!

Something is off.

Something is off.

Halt.

What? Lord Jiu Yun, did you change your mind?

Chuan, come here.

Lord Jiu Yun, what now?

It still feels off.

Chuan!

Chuan!

-Chuan! -Er Meng!

-Er Meng! -That's more like it.

Lord Jiu Yun, you can't just make fun of people!

You are no different from Lady Qing Qing.

I have an announcement.

Pack your belongings.

Come to my mansion and be my personal servant.

Personal servant?

You heard it right.
