♫ If the world did not have you, if answers had no questions, ♫

♫ A heartfelt gathering of just the two of us, in a vast sky full of stars ♫

♫ A love no mortal can comprehend, a mystery known only to heaven ♫

♫ Always beneath the surface, clearly fated emotions are in orbit ♫

♫ This fate is calculated then to the ultimate degree. ♫

♫ This love is destined to be. ♫

[ Episode 30 ]

Old Master. Old Master, how are you doing?

Get lost! I'm dying.

Old Master, it will be alright.

Where's the "Miracle Doctor"?

Miracle Doctor!

Miracle Doctor, quickly save me!

I was wrong. Miracle Doctor, I beg you to save me.

My consultation fee is very high. Are you sure you want me to cure you?

Yes. I will pay! I will pay you, no matter how much!

Save me.

My Lord, are you alright?

Don't move.

This... and he's okay?

He still has to drink this medicine as ordered in this prescription.

Once he has taken three doses, he will be fully healed.

What's "giving off gas"?

Consultation fee.

Pay the money. Quickly pay it!

My Lord! My Lord!

Aunt.

Aunt, take this and buy the child some food.

This...

Thank you, Miracle Doctor. Thank you.

No need to be courteous. Don't let the child eat bad food again.

Okay. Okay. Thank you.

Go back to your work.

My Lord, we're ready. We can set out now.

Take the decree with you back to Wei County first. I still have some matters to take care of.

Yes.

Miss, you are really Hua Tuo's reincarnation, your clever hands can revive people. (T/N ultimate Chinese doctor)

I am impressed.

Young Lord, you are overpraising me.

Doctor, please wait.

The world has four phases. Mortals have four sufferings.

Creation, maintenance, destruction, emptiness. Birth, aging, getting sick, and death. None can be avoided.

If you are born an immortal, you don't get sick and your life is as long as the heavens.

That is your fate.

But you are destined to go through three trials, and must be careful.

One careless moment, and you may end up with bones gone, flesh melted,

internal organs turned into ashes, and your life ended.

For tens of thousands of years, the number of immortals dying from their trials

are far more than those who died under the hands of the Demon Tribe.

Others will go through one trial after cultivating for many years.

Ling Xi instead must go through her trials as a minor earth immortal.

Whether it will be good or bad for her, it's hard to predict.

But no matter what she experiences or how sad she will be,

once the time comes, the trial will end.

Senior Deity, you must not intervene to help her.

This is a trial and her chance.

Once she successfully overcomes it, her six internal organs will be cleansed,

her dantian acupoint will open, and her nine acupuncture points will be usable.

Her muscles and bone will be fused together again, she will be reborn, and her immortal soul will return to its position.

The demonic aura will naturally dissipate.

Not only will Ling Xi be able to return to the immortal ranks, she also will obtain a huge advancement in cultivation.

If you forcefully interfere, you will only foil things

and turn all your hard work into nothing.

I've checked her entry in the Book of Mortal Destiny.

Ling Xi will only live for nineteen years.

No matter how hard or bitter it is, it will only last for a few more days. Senior Deity—

I understand. You go back first.

Senior Deity, then...

I will go back in a while.

Yes.

Why are you here? How did you come in?

Why are you so cold?

You wait here for a while.

Submerge your hands.

No need.

I added ginger in this.

Submerge your hands, and you will feel warmer.

Submerge your hands a little while longer to feel warmer.

I'm fine.

Thanks.

Thanks.

It's so late. How come you are here?

I came to see you.

What is this?

Fragrant pouch.

Medicine?

To dispel the cold.

Isn't it for me?

It's not done yet.

I wanted to embroider your name.

This one's good enough.

Even if we are engaged,

it's not good for you to come here in the middle of the night.

Let me send you out.

Or else, it would be troublesome if someone sees you by daybreak.

I understand.

♫ I float adrift on the current in the midst of where the water and sky merge in one color in the Milky Way, ♫

♫ Depending on the moonlight to sweep away rising layers upon layers of cause and effect ♫

♫ In the midst of my dream, you quietly raise me up through the seams ♫

♫ Pulling me, pulling me ♫

♫ The skies themselves brought me to you to fill this void with happiness ♫

♫ To hold you up in your dream, as well as controlling the river of stars ♫

♫ You retreat afterward, finally banishing me with growing waves of tears ♫

Go now. Take care while on the road. ♫ How cheerful... ♫

I'll get going then.

No! Someone will hear you.

With a wall this high,

don't you know martial arts? You can jump over it, right?

I can't come to see you for the next few days.

Because you're going to study for the civil exam?

You can say so.

Then take care of your health.

Uncle Song is a very good doctor.

Your cold disease needs to be nursed by taking in medicines.

While I'm not around, no matter what happens,

you must be more broad-minded.

Once you get past this, things will turn for the better.

♫ Following you makes exhaustion disappear, following as you float like ashes in a song ♫

♫ Not regretting this romance, flying to the utmost limit, why resent it? ♫

♫ You view my sentimental foolishness with the moon's quiet tranquility ♫

♫ Despite the saltwater intrusions, (T/N tears) ♫

♫ A dreamlike couple from the start, you're beside me ever since then ♫

♫ Like moonlight sprinkled over the endless ocean ♫

♫ Your honesty entered my heart, and relieved my mind of the crashing waves ♫

♫ Your honesty entered my heart, and relieved my mind of the crashing waves ♫

[ Medicine Bureau ]

- Official Lin, good morning. - Morning.

- Official Lin, good morning. - Morning.

Everyone, good morning.

- Official Lin, good morning. - Morning.

Official Lin, the Golden Technique Prescription you wanted has already been brought from the capital.

Really?

It's too bad that it's a worn copy.

A worn copy is good enough.

Thank you.

Official Lin, please enter.

Have you heard of it? Some officers have charged into the Feng Manor in the city's eastern section.

It seems they were from the capital.

- The Feng Family has committed a crime? - Yes.

That shouldn't be. The Feng Family has always been law-abiding.

They are also not a family of officials.

Even if they committed a crime, the people arresting them shouldn't have come from the capital?

The one who was taken away was the Feng daughter.

A lady who hasn't left the house ever! How could she have committed a crime?

- Who knows? - Very strange!

Fresh fruits!

Miss, come look at my fruits!

- Isn't this Official Lin? - Miss Zhang.

Congratulations!

Young Miss Lin and Young Lord Song will be wedded soon.

Don't forget to invite me to attend the banquet!

How would I dare? I surely will invite you. When the time comes,

you must come early.

I will surely do that!

Oh, right! Earlier, there was an officer who came to the local government office.

He brought an officer from the capital, and asked me for the birthdates

of the various unmarried daughters of our county.

When he saw the birthdate of your daughter, he paused for a while.

Say, are they planning to choose Miss Lin to become a palace lady?

But my husband already told them

that Miss Lin is deaf and mute!

We wouldn't dare send her to the palace.

Official Lin, you won't blame me for being talkative, right?

No such thing. You only told the truth. Why would I blame you?

That's good then.

But, that... Official Lin, my husband's old illness has acted up again.

You think...

Don't worry. I will find time tomorrow to check on him and prescribe him some medicines.

Thank you then, Official Lin! I'll get going then.

Don't go. Come. Come.

Master, you're home.

Official Song came to look for you today. But after seeing you were not around,

he then rushed to the Medicine Bureau.

Seeing him sweaty and anxious, I think it's some urgent matter.

Did you bump into him on your way back?

No.

I'll go back to the Medicine Bureau. No need to wait for me for lunch.

What's going on? Each one coming and leaving in a rush.

Young Miss, you will get married soon. You haven't seen Young Lord Song, right?

I am very close to their servants. I heard a lot about him.

Young Miss, do you want to hear it?

Young Miss, usually when you don't want to hear something, you lower your head and don't look.

This time you clearly don't want to hear it, but why are you looking at me?

I heard that a few days ago, the Young Lord Guan and others from the adjacent county

dared to spout nonsense in the tea house

that our county has no talent!

When Young Lord Song heard it, he got mad.

He had a competition with that Young Lord Guan right there and then about poems and lyrics.

In the end, that Young Lord Guan got utterly defeated.

He even got forced by Young Lord Song to serve tea and apologize

to all the scholars of our county.

I heard that time that Young Lord Song had really created a stir.

He criticized Young Lord Guan as having not one good point.

Young Lord Guan was so embarrassed that his face was as red as a monkey's buttocks!

Young Lord Song forced the other party to apologize

and even insulted him?

Right.

Is he that kind of person?

Are these for washing?

Xiao Ju! Xiao Ju! Come out here!

Miss, please wait. I'll be back right away.

Coming!

Second Miss.

Did you wash these?

Yes.

How did you wash them?

Look! Look here!

Second Miss, this dress was like this from the start.

- The color was not uniform when they dyed it, so it's not my fault. - You dare answer back?

This fabric was brought from the capital.

How could its color not be uniform?

You clearly didn't wash it well.

I've already washed it numerous times.

I don't care.

Continue washing it! Whatever time you are able to wash it clean,

only then will this matter end.

Second Young Miss, aren't you making things hard for me?

I indeed am making things hard for you, so what?

Aren't you very idle, and have nothing to do?

Continue washing it.

Go now!

Yes.

[ Medicine Bureau ]

Official Lin!

- Official Song. - Official Lin,

- you are finally back. - You need anything from me?

Brother Lin, something bad has happened.

What's wrong?

- What's wrong? - Brother Lin, is the birthdate of A'Mo that you gave me the third day of the fifth month?

Right.

Did you remember it clearly that it was that day?

Of course, I remember it clearly.

It was even raining hard that night.

Are their ba zi not compatible? (T/N full birthdate information, for matchmaking)

If her ba zi were incompatible with my son's, we could still redeem the situation.

You also know that I have relatives working in the capital.

He heard news from the palace that the Crown Prince is severely ill.

How is this related with my daughter?

Today, the shaman held a ritual and made a prediction.

He said that a demonic star has fallen into this world that's contradicting the fate of the dragon's son.

If this person doesn't die, the world and the royal family won't be at peace!

That shaman has already calculated the birthdate of that person.

The government officers now are secretly searching to capture that person.

A'Mo's birthdate and age is exactly the same as the one calculated by the shaman.

If she gets discovered, she will get executed!

Brother Lin, the daughter of the Feng Family at the eastern side of the city has the same birthday as A'Mo.

She has already been captured.

How come it's like this?

Could they... have it wrong?

They'd rather capture the wrong one than let the right one go. Not only the Feng Family,

even the daughters of the Li Family and Zhao Family have the same birthday.

They have both been captured.

The Zhao Family even has twin daughters!

Brother Lin.

Come look. It's very fresh.

Take a look again.

How do you walk? Can't you be more mindful?

Sorry. Sorry.

Are you not paying for these?

What kind of person are you?

Is it her?

Right. Her name is Lin Mo,

the daughter of Official Lin of the Medicine Bureau.

Lead the way!

Husband, you are home.

Why are you sealing the gates in broad daylight?

Where is A'Mo?

I... do not know.

Husband, did something bad happen?

Where did she go?

A'Mo! A'Mo!

- Stop washing. Quickly come with me. - Go where?

Stop asking! If you keep asking, it will be too late! Let's go!

Hurry.

Open the door! Open the door!

Quickly open the door!

Open the door!

Open the door! Officials doing their duties! Open the door!

- What's going on? - Slow down.

Our Lin Family has always stayed within our bounds for generations.

How come government officers have come here in broad daylight?

Open the door!

If you still don't open it, we're breaking the door open!

- This... - Go!

- Come with me! - Master!

Quickly open the door!

Open the door!

A'Mo.

Wait here, okay?

Don't go anywhere. You must not go home.

Father, what really is happening?

Why do you want me to hide?

I don't have the time to explain things now.

Remember, no matter what happens,

I will protect you.

Wait for me.

Mother, what's going on?

Don't talk. Do you not want to live anymore?

Who is Lin Mo?

Raise all your heads up.

Didn't you hear what the lord has said? Raise your heads!

What is your name?

Lin... Zhan.

I am not Lin Mo. Lin Mo is my older sister!

Where is she then?

I do not know.

- Search! - Yes!

This...

This way!

You two go there.

- You, over there! - Yes!

My Lord, we didn't find her.

My Lord, there's no one.

Where really is Lin Mo?

If you still don't talk, don't blame me for being discourteous!

Officers, what do you need?

Why did you charge into my private home?

I am an Imperial bodyguard.

I came here to implement the decree of Noble Consort Song.

Let me ask you, where is Lin Mo?

I am Lin Shaohai from the Medicine Bureau—

I am not asking who you are.

I was asking where Lin Mo is!

My daughter... is dead.

This...

Yesterday, she went to the riverside to wash clothes. Accidentally,

she fell into the water and died.

Presently, her corpse hasn't been fished out yet.

Official Lin, we are here by Imperial decree.

If you dare deceive the Emperor, that's a major crime punishable by execution.

Your whole clan will be implicated.

- Mother! Mother! - Mother!

- Husband! - Mother!

You said Lin Mo drowned.

Okay. I'll go back now and send people to fish for her body in the river.

If at this time tomorrow, I still am not able to see the corpse,

I will use her corpse as a replacement!

- I have nothing to do with this matter! - My Lord! - Take her away!

- Yes! - It's not her fault! My Lord!

My Lord, you cannot do this!

At that time not only will she die,

your whole family will accompany her to death, My Lord.

Let's go!

- Officer! My daughter... - Father!

- Father, I don't want to die! Officer! - Officer!

- Father! Save me! - Officer!

Father...

That's the whole story.

The Feng Family, Zhao Family, and Li Family,

all their daughters who were born on the same date have all been taken away.

Mother, did you hear it?

The demonic star that the government wants to capture is A'Mo.

It's not my Lin Zhan!

You usually dote on Zhan'er the most.

You must seek justice for me.

Mother!

Where did you hide A'Mo?

I'm asking you a question.

Where did you hide her?

You heard it.

This is a major crime of deceiving the Emperor.

The whole clan will be executed!

Husband, A'Mo is your daughter,

but Zhan'er is also your daughter!

You can't just watch Zhan'er die.

Husband! I'm begging you...!

Save my Zhan'er...

Husband, say something!

Save my Zhan'er...

Husband! Save Zhan'er!

I beg you, Husband!

You are still not talking? You are harming the whole family!

Talk!

A'Mo...

was not born on the third day of the fifth month.

A'Mo is not my real daughter.

- This... - Mother, after my wife had been married into our family for many years,

she was not able to conceive.

You forced me to take in a concubine.

But the two of us...

A'Mo... was the baby who I adopted

from the orphanage overnight.

Orphanage?

Adopted?

How nice.

How nice, you two!

- Mother! - Mother! - You two...

- Mother. - I was the one who was wrong. I was not filial and lied to you!

But all this really has nothing to do with A'Mo.

She is not our descendant.

Isn't that better?

Since the government wants her,

then just give A'Mo to them and bring my Zhan'er back first!

Husband! Where did you hide A'Mo? Say it.

Say it! Where did you hide her?

A'Mo's birth date is not the third day of the fifth month to begin with.

She's not the demonic star that the government is after.

I don't care!

Whether she's the demonic star that the government is after, it's the government who will determine that.

What I only know now is the person that the government wants to capture is A'Mo.

My Zhan'er is innocent.

I will never let Zhan'er

die in vain just for that girl!

If my Zhan'er dies...

I...

I will not live either! Husband!

Husband, say it!

Husband!

Enough!

You said that A'Mo wasn't born on the third day of the fifth month.

And she's not the descendant of our Lin Family.

Even if I believe it,

would the government officers

believe it?

They will.

[ Benevolent Orphanage ]

Nanny Jiang!

Nanny Jiang, are you in there?

It's the middle of the night. Can't you wait until tomorrow to discuss things?

Sorry to have disturbed you. Is Nanny Jiang around?

I have an urgent matter to speak with her about.

- Nanny Jiang? - Yes.

Nanny Jiang died two years ago. Where would I go find her?

If you really want to find her, just burn paper money in front of her tomb then.

[ Benevolent Orphanage ]

- Husband! - Husband!

Sister!

I'm kneeling to you too.

Mother!

Mother! What are you doing?

Get up.

Get up, Mother!

Mother!

What am I doing?

It's all your doing.

That deaf and mute bastard

is going to drag our whole family to our deaths!

You still don't know how to choose?

You want our whole family to die with her?

Do you want me to die in front of you?

Mother! Mother!

You are still wavering.

I will die in front of you!

- Don't! - Mother! - Let me die!

- Let me die! - Mother!

Mother...

- Mother! - Mother, don't do it!

Mother!

I choose...

I'm choosing...

Father, you're here.

How are things back home?

That... A'Mo, you must be hungry.

Come, eat.

Come.

Father, have you eaten?

I'm done eating.

You eat. Eat.

Father, did something bad happen at home?

How come you must hide me here

and I'm not allowed to go home?

Tell me, I can... think, and help you come up with ideas.

It's fine now.

Everything is in the past.

It's in the past.

Really?

It's true.

After eating...

I will bring you home.

Bring you home...
