Do you not know my identity?

Team Leader Bai.

As you know, hurry and move.

Where are you heading to?

R-Returning to the Ran Manor!

If you are returning to the Ran Manor you should be on Anyi road, why are you here?

Because...

We will travel any road we want to!

That..doesn't seem to have anything to do with Lord Su.

That's right, it has nothing to do with you!

I've been decreed to investigate Lord Sun's case

we are trying to capture suspects.

We must search every carriage and group that we see,

Lord Su!

Miss Ran!

You have the bearing of an important minister now.

Lord Su I only want to offer some paper sacrifices for my late husband.

Is this...a crime as well?

Dead husband?

Search!

Yes.

-Don't search! -Stop!

Remove the flowers.

My Lord there are only Queen of Night flowers.

My love with Xiao Song is like the Queen of Night flower.

But I will never forget him.

So.... I wish to use the Queen of Night to offer as a sacrifice to him.

As you are commemorating him, then I will help you.

Burn all these flowers!

You cannot burn them!

Why can't we burn them?

Don't you plan to commemorate your lord? How can you offer them as a sacrifice without burning them?

Burn them!

Leave one pot to me! Just one!

I am begging you!

You wish to commemorate your dead husband I am just trying to commemorate him with you.

Move it! Move it!

Sang Chen!

Sang Chen! Sang Chen!

Sang Chen!

Sang Chen!

Sang Chen! Sang Chen!

Sang Chen!

Sang Chen!

Sang Chen!

Let them go first and I'll give you the Marquis of Sui's pearl!

Xiao Song actually told you about it, he really does trust you.

Let them go first!

You deceived me with a fake pearl, you treat me very well.

However you have no right to negotiate with me!

Hand over the Marquis of Sui's pearl

And then I’ll consider if I should let them go or not.

Otherwise....

Save Sang Chen first!

Bring a physician to my manor.

Yes.

[Su Manor]

You really are a fool.

I am a fool.

I was unable to protect any of the evidence.

For me..

It is not worth it.

It's worth it because it's you.

Promise me.

You must find a killer.

I found a physician to cure Sang Ghen.

Now...it's time for you to keep your word.

Why did you become so cold hearted and inhumane?

Although Sang Chen is not your friend,

but he is someone you are acquainted with!

You just watched him burn his hand and not save him!

You're a monster!

What did I do to you?

I cannot control myself, you must go!

You must leave!

Prepare the horse.

Yes!

I am your master, you should listen to me.

She abandoned you.

Even if Xiao Song has died,

Even if Xiao Song has died, Xiao Song is still in her heart.

Please call me Mistress Xiao.

When did you become so cold hearted and inhumane?

Although Sang Chen isn't your friend

but he is acquainted to you!

You are a monster!

You keep saving her, yet she keeps betraying you.

Xiao Song is the only one in her heart!

Mistress Dong Yang?

You are the chief of the Huoqi alliance?

What's wrong?

Capture Ran Yan!

Why is he like this?

You want to know why he became so heartless and injumane?

Then I will tell you the truth.

In Suzhou city, you abandoned her.

He originally intended to end his own life.

It's a shame...l told him I will not let you off.

In order to save your life, he took my puppet drug,

Pill of purple rot.

Pill of purple rot?

Those who consume that pill, as soon as they fall in love,

it will be as if they were chewed by ants, in immense pain.

If he did not love you and took my antidote,

he would be fine.

Unfortunately he loves you too much.

Furthermore he was provoke by your love for Xiao Song

So he became my puppet.

And only listened to my orders.

I have to thank the two of you.

It turns out you're like this,

all because of me.

He was the one who saved you, but he was also the one who betrayed you also.

Hurry and tell me!

Where is the Marquis of Sui's pearl?

Do you think you can rule the world with the Marquis of Sui's Pearl?

As long as I can find the treasure of Emperor Yang of Sui

I can overthrow the Tang kingdom and build an army for myself!

Let them go first!

Then I will give you the Marquis of Sui's pearl

Alright.

We will hand them over when you hand over the pearl.

The Marquis of Sui’s Pearl is within the Hall of Discourse.

Very good.

Tomorrow Li Shi Ming will leave the palace to go hunting,

We will enter the palace and retrieve the pearl then.

Lord Su, His Majesty just left the palace why did you enter the palace at this time?

I came to investigate Consort Yang's death on orders His Majesty.

What’s inside the box?

Some scrolls.

Open the box.

Open the box.

Where is the Marquis of Sui's Pearl?

I finally found the Marquis of Sui's Pearl.

As you have it,

then let them go.

Kill them.

Xiao Song?

Do not move!

Aunt you gave me quite a surprise.

I never expected that the chief of the Huoqi alliance would be hiding around me.

And she would be you!

Song'er forgive me.

In order to accomplish my task of overthrowing the Tang dynasty,

I need the Xiao clan as my cover.

Su Fu....

suddenly became the Commandant of Justice from a spy.

I believe it was all because of aunt right?

Sun Zhen from the Court of Judicial Review is my person

it's simple for him to prove Su Fu's new background.

He's consumed a puppet drug and is completely overwhelmed by it.

I fear it's hard for him to wake up.

Hand over the Marquis Sui's pearl! Or I'll kill the 4 of them!

Miss Ran the Marquis Sui's Pearl relates to the country.

Yan’er I am not afraid! I am not afraid do not hand it over!

Miss, I am not your sister,

you don't need to care about me!

My life belongs to you, My Lord, you can take it anytime!

Very good!

Hand them over when I give you the pearl!

Let them go!

Ran Yan!

Cousin, help me hold this.

Sure.

Ran Yun Sheng!

Greetings Master!

He is the true leader of the Huoqi alliance!

Cousin you....

Yan'er...

My true identity is a descendant of the Sui Imperial family.

Uncle knows about this too?

He is descendant of a loyalist to the Sui court, of course he knows.

This empire should have belonged to me Father!

Yet the Li family snatched it!

Today I will take it back!

The one who saved Ji Yuan when Sun Zhen let him go

was you right?

You knew that Ji Yuan was from the Neiwei department

so you pretended to be a member and saved Ji Yuan

so you wanted to find out the secret of the lambskin scroll from him.

I did intend to do that.

It's a shame..

It’s a shame Ji Yuan’s lips were so tightly sealed.

Besides he does not trust you.

As he knows your true identity, so you had to kill him to shut him up.

Which mean Ran Mei Yu was not saved by Ji Yuan.

It was you?

It was I who saved her, she is my younger cousin too.

Naturally she will not betray me.

It was you who killed my Master?

As expected my cousin is extremely intelligent

it's a shame, Wu Xiu He saw something he should not have.

So...his death was not within our plans.

Ji Yuan is dead, when the authorities get here Ran Yan will become the killer.

And you can

finally avenge yourself.

Thank you for assisting me in seeking revenge.

But... what do you intend to do with him now?

He saw me.

I cannot leave him alive.

You have known my Master since you were little and he has taken care of you too.

How can you do that to him?!

Those who succeed naturally have to get rid of all obstacles in his path!

You were the one sent Qiu Hua?

I have to investigate every family who has connections with the Sui clan.

Even Dong Yang did not even know about that.

Palace attendant Deng Rong is your person too?

It was you who ordered Ran Mei Yu to hold our wedding in the palace.

Your true motive was to set me up?

You are the Emperor's right hand man.

If I want to deal with him, naturally I have to get rid of you first.

I not only have to get rid of you, I planned to get rid of the Crown Prince too!

It's a shame Physician Qi was a useless fool, because of him you found out the pandemic was a fake.

And led you to discover his relationship with Ji Yuan.

Zhuang Bi Fan is your person too?

It was you who ordered him to monitor the Neiwei department!

That's right.

And I...

I am the one who gets the last laugh now.

The Marquis of Sui's pearl is in my hands.

And I have the content of the lambskin text as well.

As long as I place the pearl into the dragon's mouth,

it will initiate the machinery inside

and I will be able to obtain the treasure of the Sui dynasty

and the world...will be mine!

Why is it like this?

That Marquis of Sui's pearl is a fake!

-Don't move! -Don't move!

Li Shi Ming! Why are you here?

Greetings Your Majesty!

Greetings Your Majesty!

You thought I actually went hunting.

What you do not know that Xiao Song and I have already set up this trap to wait for you

how could I miss it?

I noticed a mention of the Imperial seal in the text Chu Yue Zhu translated

so I decided to use their scheme to my benefit.

So that the mastermind will think that the Marquis of Sui's pearl is within the palace too,

and lure him over

and catch him like a turtle in a vat.

It seems like we must find a chance to let them know

the pearl is in the palace.

But to ensure the show is convincing, the fake pearl must resemble the real one.

But right now you are a wanted fugitive, why would His Majesty believe you?

That is our only method.

This is the heirloom of the Xiao clan, it belongs to Xiao Song.

before he died, he asked me,to give this toy ou.

Deputy Head Xiao, this dagger was a gift from the late Emperor

at my coming of age ceremony.

Now...I give it to you.

I do not dare to accept it.

This dagger is not only a bestowment,

it also represents my trust in you.

I hope this trust will forever exist between you and I.

Where is Xiao Song now?

His Majesty set up this good show beforehand.

First I hid the fake Marquis of Sui's pearl within the Hall of Discourse.

That night, we ran into Su Fu

so I used their scheme to my benefit

so I lied and told them Xiao Song told me the real pearl was in the Hall of Discourse.

His Majesty announced that he will go hunting today

that is like a heaven's gift.

I believe that the real mastermind..

will not let go of this chance.

Very good, whether it's the Emperor and his subject or the two lovers, you are all in this together!

you really did put on a good show!

It's a shame I cannot find the Marquis of Sui's Pearl, you cannot either!

That may not be true.

Your Majesty.

When Chu Yue Zhu died, I found a small piece of paper in her hand.

It states that the two must be combined.

And in an epiphany, I realized those 4 characters

just like in the lambskin text suggested that the pearl and the Imperial seal were once one.

So I made a bold hypothesis that

the Marquis of Sui's Pearl is within the Imperial Seal.

Bu there doesn't seem to be anything inside this seal.

Your Majesty, the box and pedestal of the Imperial seal

are part of the Imperial seal as well.

Who can achieve that?

Sang Chen.

I need to borrow his nimble fingers to make a fake one

and hide it within the pedestal of the seal.

You wish to...

hide the real pearl within a pedestal

and swap the real one out?

Only in this way, can the Xiao family be safe.

and the world can remain in peace.

However this is a serious matter,

I wonder if Sang Chen is willing to help us.

What you wish to do is what I want to do as well.

Not only will the Xiao clan be saved,

it can also ensure the world will be in peace,

it is a good thing, I am willing to help you!

It turns out the real pearl is with the Imperial Seal.

With the coming together of pearl and seal, comes the peace of the world!

Your Majesty! I am sorry for my late arrival!

Arrest these rebels for me!

Kill!

Attack!

Don't move! Stay where you are!

Kill him!

You are not the one Ran Yan loves, she only loves Xiao Song!

Kill Xiao Song! Only by killing him will you be saved!

Kill him!

I have the antidote here.

Only if they die,

can you live!

Do it!

do not think you can live!

None of you move!

Miss!

If you move, let's die together!

Let me go!

Let him go!

Miss!

Xiao Song, Li Si Ming ruined my plans!

I will not let you off!

Do not come over here!

Sang Chen from the Hongwen Academy is gifted with intelligence,

hence he is appointed as the secretary of the Ministry of Justice and receive the pay of a 6th ranking official.

Thank you Your Majesty!

Xiao Song the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice

was dutiful and dedicated to his post, helped eradicate the Sui rebels

hence he is rewarded with 1000 tales of gold, 10 boxes of jade

and 10 boxes of expensive silks.

But starting from today he must not step foot into Suzhou city

nor must he voluntarily encounter Ran Yan

otherwise he will be caned to death!

Your Majesty, I...

That is my order.

I will never retract it.

I accept it.

Although Ran Yan did save His Majesty

however she is the cousin of Ran Yun Sheng, a rebel from the Sui dynasty

bringing chaos to the kingdom plunging the palace into danger

his crimes are unforgivable,

hence Ran Yan must leave Chang'an by noon tomorrow,

and never step foot into Chang'an again.

Nor must she meet up with Xiao Song

if she defies this order both will be caned to death.

On the orders of His Majesty.

It was clearly you who helped His Majesty.

He does not deserve your praise!
