For a woman, you cut out the flesh at the tip of your heart?

You're in love?

The Marquis Sui's Pearl has links with Ran Yan.

What did you say?

District Governor Li told me after ia hypnotized him.

Why didn't you say earlier?

All the members of the Neiwei department have been through all kinds of training.

Including hypnotization.

I cannot determine what he speaks of is true.

Su Fu!

Investigate it thoroughly.

I will save you when you find that item.

Su Fu!

I am here to return this to you.

Team Leader Bai, it's all done.

My Lord, that Monk Wu agreed,

he will inform Ran Wen to take Ran Yan back to the Ran residence

to ensure the safety of the Ran family.

We must not let Ran Yan know about this.

Yes.

It's quite pretty.

This is pretty.

I choose this one.

All women like these kinds of things?

All women like these things.

But there are few women who like

bodies.

This one!

Miss! That's mine.

Not right.

When did Miss care about her appearance?

What's going on?

Miss is singing?

She's even dancing?

And smiling as if she's eaten honey.

Could it be possible...that she has someone she likes?

Miss, tonight do you want to eat steamed fish, or areca nuts?

Steamed fish!

Turns out it's Lord Xiao.

But Lord Xiao did not come and see Miss for 2 months.

Haven't eaten areca nuts for a long time.

Why don't you buy some areca nuts?

Why did it become Master Su?

It's hard to satisfy my Miss.

Miss.

Master invited you to return home.

Miss! We can return home?

We meet again.

Every time I see you, bad things happen.

I hope it's different this time.

You are right.

Every time I see you, bad things happen.

The first time we met, it was at the Qingli brothel.

And then a murder occurred over there.

But I found something strange.

I clearly saw you in the Qingli brothel.

But your name was not on the visitor's log book after we sealed the brothel up.

I left before the muder occurred.

Which means...you did not see how Liu Can was murdered?

I am here to attend this birthday banquet.

Not to accept an interrogation.

Master Zhang, please come in.

Master Zhang give you a pair of rhinoceros horns.

Made you spend money.

Hurry, come in.

Please go in.

Merchant Zheng.

-Master Ran. Congratulations. -Thank you.

Just a little gift.

Please come in.

Let's go.

The Su family gave you so much face.

They came to restart the marriage negotiations on the day of your birthday

and gave you so many expensive gifts.

Master you must give them a good welcome.

Do not worry wife, I know what to do.

Are you not the person who brought Yan'er back that night?

Could he possibly be the Shu son of the Su clan, Su Fu?

Mother it is he.

He'came alone to ask for her hand in marriage.

He is an arrogant master with no breeding.

This...

If Yan'er marries him wouldn't she suffer?

Master, you are worrying for nothing.

With Yan'er's temper, he will be lucky if he does not suffer.

Exactly!

Lord Xiao from the Minsitry of Justice is here.

Women must be more reserved.

Wife, why did Lord Xiao agree to attend my birthday banquet?

It was because I...

I asked Mei Yu to invite him over.

Lord Xiao saved Mei Yu's life before and recently they have been close.

You...and Lord Xiao?

Father, Lord Xiao is very kind to me.

I apologize for the poor welcome to my humble quarters.

Please forgive me.

My Lord this is my wife Mistress Gao, and my daughter Mei Yu.

I only came as a friend.

No need for the courtesy.

This is a coral from Japan.

I hope you will accept it.

My Lord how can you say that, it's such a precious item, of course I will treasure it.

My Lord please come in and sit.

Please come in. Come in.

Come in.

Come in.

[Ran Residence]

Which family are you from?

Insolence! What which family are you from?

She's from this one!

Move! Move!

Eldest Miss please come in.

Mother.

I am finally back.

Thank you everyone for taking your time out

to take part in my banquets

Eldest Miss is here!

This is...

It is a congratulatory peach.

I hope you can prosper as much as the sun, have as much fortune as the eastern sea

and live as long as the south mountain.

As expected of the fox.

Lord Xiao.

Master! You must not enter this place!

As today there are so many guests here,

I wish to use this chance to announce a happy event.

My eldest's daughter Ran Yan.

will marry Su Fu from the Apothecarist family Su on the 8th of next month.

I oppose it!

May I ask who you are?

My surname is Sang and my name is Chen.

You...know my daughter.

Not only do I know her I..

My feelings to her is...

The weeds grow incessantly, the dew on it's leaves shine brightly.

who has a delicate and gentle aura. (see ep 13 for explanation)

Always adding my trouble.

Father just announced you will marry

yet a man comes and says something shameless.

That is incorrect.

Those on a higher level of thinking do not abide strictly abide to etiquette as it's unnecessary to them.

Those with a lower mind only mock them

because that is the thing those people with no class do not have.*

This rabbit knows how to mock a person.

What nonsense is that?

What that means is,

those with a higher class of thinking will not put on hypocritical airs.

Like Miss Ran.

Only those with a lower class of thinking will put up hypocritical airs

in front of others.

In truth, they do not know what good etiquette is.'

You...What did you say?!'

You say I have no class?! How could you in the Ran Manor...

I...boldly ask for your daughter;s.hand in marriage today.

Pardon?

I even brought my wedding gift today.

Those scrolls contains the ideas of what

the Tibet, Baekje (korean) the Persian kingdoms

believe the changes that occur in the body before and after death.

This untalented person*, just translated them into Chinese.

And all for Miss Ran.

I specially got my friend from India to buy this dress for me.

When you wear it, the blood will nto splatter on your clothes when you examine the body.

Like making a jacket out of the leaves of the Zabel spiraea and a dress out of lotus flowers. *

And this.

This is another gift for Miss Ran.

it is a foreign knife.

I specially ordered it from a foreign blacksmith.

Miss Ran when you cut up the dead bodies in the future

it'll...even more...

This is a disguise.

Lv Wang was once a butcher,

but received the appreciation of Zhou Wen.

Miss Ran you are right.

Although Lv Wang was a butcher.

But when he encountered King Wen of Zhou who appreciated his abilities, he managed to rise to a prominent position*

Which means there is no-one more inferior or superior-.

Only depends on one's ambition.

This rabbit know me best.

Wan Lv accept it.

Alright!

It is good you like it.

Master.

I did not expect that Yan'er was not only talented in examining dead bodies,

but is also skilled in charming men.

Giving us this show of'two men trying to snatch a woman at your birthday banquet.

Yan'er how can you involve yourself with these improper men?

Rabbit, tell my Father what your real surname is.

I did not want to say it,

but if Miss Ran insists...

I am Cui Chen.

Your surname is Cui?

Could you be from the Boling Cui clan?

Exactly.

Master.

But we already agreed to marry her to the Su family.

And her fiancee is already sitting here.

If we break our word it will make them lose face.

Losing face will only last for a short while.

But marriage lasts for a life time.

If both parties are in love, then it will last for a century

and it is a good match.

If both parties are not in love,

that marriage will be like torture, and unbreakable chain.

Indeed well said.

-That is right.

Well said.

Only wish is to have the love of that person and never part from him even if we have white hairs *

I believe that what Sang Chen said is very correct.

Lord Xiao.

Young Master Cui came first in the Imperial civil exams 4 times.

So he is a genius.

Even His Majesty has heard of him.

Why don't you give him a chance?

This....

Su Fu.

Do you have any confidence?

We will know with a test.

Sang Chen.

I will obey your orders.

Good.

Why don't we determine the name of a melody?

And determine the victor from one round.

We can.

Chang Qing

Gao Shan.

Duan Qing!

Kang An.

The resentment at Chang gate.

Hua Xu Yin.

This is the melody that was played

Xiao Song is testing me.

The test ends here.

Looks like it's a draw.

You are wrong.

Someone won.

I asked the question yet no-one knew the answer.

Naturally I won.

Xiao Fish, I am trying to find a husband,

not who is the victor.

Why are you causing trouble?

As I won,

then whoever you marry fox

I am the one who determines that.

I do not care about a marriage arrangement by my parents and matchmaker.

Besides you are merely a minister.

Mei Yu!

Mei Yu!

Mei Yu! Mei Yu what's wrong?

Mei Yu!

Wife, what's going on?

I do not know either.

I only know that Mei Yu has not been able to eat nor drink recently

and always feels unwell.

I believe she is unwell.

Butler hurry and call the physician over!

Alright.

-Mei Yu. -Mei Yu.

How is she physician?

Master Ran.

Miss Ran she..

What's wrong hurry and tell me.

It is the pulse of a pregnant woman.

What? She's pregnant?

Master let me congratulate you.

Being pregnant before marriage is a good thing?

This is the first time l've*heard of such a thing.

Shut up! This is not a place for a servant like you to speak.

Wife how can you call something so disgraceful and immoral a good thing?

That depends on whose child it is.. that Mei Yu is bearing in her body.

Me‘i Yu.

Hurry and tell everyone.

The father of my baby....

is Lord Xiao.

-Insolence! -Lord Xiao this...

You cannot accuse him.

What? Lord Xiao?

This...Lord Xiao you and my daughter....

When did that occur between you and I?

That night I brought some food for you...

but before you finished you....

You did come and find me that night,

but I cannot remember anything that happened afterwards.

Do you have any evidence?

My Lord, I have already given you my innocence!

How can you deny it?!

Mei Yu do not be so disrespectful.

Lord Xiao holds a high governmental office, he is a 4th level ranking official.

How could he possibly try to shrug off responsibility?

It only occurred suddenly, so he just wanted to make sure.

That night, His Lordship...

My Lord.

What are your thoughts of me?

I have always liked you. My Lord.

His Lordship has a

sabre like pendant on his chest.

Examiner Ran....

how do you think I should handle

this matter?

This..

has nothing to do with me.

You can say what you like.

Gold and jade are not treasure

rather it is honesty that is precious.

That is how a person should behave.

As you've done it, then you should bear responsibility.

Fine.

As I did it,

I will take responsibility.

My Lord.

I've already made it this clear...

and my stomach will....

will give you an answer for this.

Lord Xiao admitted to it.

Right.

Everyone.

I didn't think two such happy occasions would occur to the Ran family today.

My eldest daughter Ran Yan is about to marry Su Fu.

And my 2nd daughter....

I officially announce that my eldest daughter Ran Yan

will marry Su Fu from the Apotheoarist family on the 8th next month.

It was clear that neither he and I won in the contest just now.

My Lord please uphold justice for me!

The contest just now...

"Her thoughts are not with you, so stop the daydreaming.

Do not disturb my Lord, move!

This medicine is beneficial to your wound.

Why did Ran Wen allow Ran Yan to return home?

There must be a reason for it.

Is your body alright?

You must keep your eyes on ran Yan in the next few days.

Turns out they only let you return in order to marry you off.

I never expected that we would only be able to come back after 12 years.

It's a shame Mistress is no longer here.

Miss, I..

it is good we can return.

Didn't expect we would receive such a shock as soon as we got back.

Our dear Lord Xiao has been tainted by Ran Mei Yu.

Heaven you have gone cross eyed!

It's not that the Heavens have gone cross eyed.

That fish was just being lustful.

I find it strange that Lord Xiao can have any woman he wants.

Why does it have to be Ran Mei Yu?

It'll be so embarrassing that we will

You go back first.

Miss...I have to help you unpack.

I can unpack myself.

You go back first.

Miss, let me hep you.

I want to be alone for a bit.

Then you rest up early.

Yan'er, wake up.

I made your favorite foreign bread.*

I will recite the poem with you.

Yan'er do not cry, you must learn to be strong.

My Yan'er is the most clever person in the world.

You will be a talented girl when you grow up.

I wonder what my Yan'er will be like when she grows up.

I miss you so much.

Yan'er you must remember.

Although there are evil people In this world

but there is also justice.

All the crimes and sins committed,

should not be determined by us.

Instead the law must be the judge of it.

Do you know what this is?

A dandelion.

Yan'er look at this dandelion,

it drifts everywhere and spreads it's seed everywhere.

No matter what the world thinks of it's appearance,

it will always follow it's heart.

Mother.

I've grown up.

I've grown up.

I wonder if you can see it or not.

What am I thinking about?

My Mother had left the world a long time ago.

This is Mother's handwriting!

What does it mean by find that item?

So it was the character for "sentiment”?

I always forget.

One of the shoes of the male corpse was 6 steps away and the other 10 steps away.

Madam I am looking for Examiner Ran.

Miss Ran, she just left.

No, I just got back from the front courtyard.
