PRAY FOR US

Yes, Max.

- Gerry . -I'll pay you tomorrow.

- Were you partying last night? -What do you want?

Mutilated cattle.

In a town, a couple of hours away. Pay 150.

Mutilated cattle. So, without a doubt, it would be $ 200.

Pay 150.

I wouldn't get out of bed for less than 6,000 when I was working for the Examiner .

Yes. You should try to get that old job back.

You know what, Max?

I don't want to talk to you anymore Send me the details.

I'm going home to pack some things.

ENTERING BANFIELD FOUNDED IN 1817

"A little piece of God's land".

I don't know much about cows, but they don't look mutilated.

Look back there. Right there.

They may be the Satanists I've heard of.

They put on animal masks, they undress ...

... and participate in unholy orgies.

-Can I ask you something? -Yeah right.

Has a son?

Yes.

-16 years old? -Not. He's 15.

Do you know the band Metallica?

I'm sorry...

Not much happens around here.

What a surprise.

-Geary? -Oh, we already started.

Yes?

This is the property of the church. Get that cow out of here.

Sorry, Father Hagan. It won't happen again, I swear.

That's what you said last week.

There is excrement everywhere.

Yes, it sucks. I am sorry.

-Now, Geary. -Right away.

My farm is next door.

I have wanted to repair that fence.

I do not care.

What I do care is that ...

... my employer won't pay me for pictures of that ass.

-I do not know what to tell you. -I already know it.

Did you hear that?

What?

Sr. Fenn.

What the hell?

"February 31, 1845".

FEBRUARY 31, 1845

A grain doll.

The peasants planted them for luck.

I've never seen one like it.

It's creepy.

"When the ancient talisman was broken ...

... the mysterious cattle mutilations began. "

It's not broken.

Broke it!

Let's not argue about who broke what.

- You just told me that ... - Or about who mutilated what.

Now we have an article.

-Help me, friend. -With what?

I want a large photo of that adorable face.

No, I don't want a photo.

Yes Yes.

Get down close to that thing.

-As if I had found her? -Yes.

It's okay.

So, very good.

-Likes? -Better than a cow butt.

Where do you get something to eat here?

It is a nice place.

Are there always so many people?

Now?

This is rush hour.

Mutilation of a cow in Banfield

"When an unidentified vandal broke a protective talisman ...

... an evil force was released.

A bloodthirsty force.

Started...

He started by kissing a cow's butt. "

What a thrill, Fenn.

You were going to win a Pulitzer.

Idiot!

Damn.

Damn.

Damn.

Hears!

Hears!

I give you my soul.

I promise. I will do it.

I will do it.

Hears.

-Are you okay? -Thanks.

I'm going!

Alice.

Yes. Dr. Gates, this is an emergency.

Please. As fast as you can.

How you feel?

This had never happened. Do you think you are sleepwalking?

It seems to be fine. I'll check it again tomorrow after mass.

Does Alice live with Father Hagan?

It's his uncle. He has raised her since her parents passed away.

The point is ...

... I heard her speak.

It's not possible. He has never said a word.

You have a congenital cholesteatoma.

You don't know me and I made a bad first impression ...

... but I swear I heard her speak.

What is your blood alcohol level?

You're lucky Alice is fine.

If something had happened to him ...

... it would have been my personal mission to put him in prison.

Between.

MOTEL ZODIAC ROOMS $ 19.99 FREE INTERNET

Is it the best motel they have?

It is the only motel we have.

Well...

... at least it's cheap.

At least it's not jail.

Hi Gerry.

I'm still in Banfield.

I had a little accident, so ...

... I will deliver the article late.

Forget this. Obscura.com posted something about the mutilations.

What if I have another item?

A deaf-mute girl connected with the church ...

... spoke spontaneously.

A religious approach.

It's okay, Gerry.

-200 dollars. - Pay 150.

And bring photos.

Don't be so greedy.

You take away the sins of the world.

Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

Grant us peace.

Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof ...

... but just say the word and my soul will heal.

Look at the Lamb of God!

Look at the one who takes away all the sins of the world.

Alice...

Mrs...

The Lady has an urgent message for all of us.

He wants us to come back tomorrow.

He says...

Says her name is Maria.

Alice, these tests will allow us to evaluate your hearing.

Are you ready?

I'm going to play a series of sounds ...

... in different volumes.

Now...

... you are going to hear some words and I want you to repeat them to me. Yes?

Cat.

Apple.

Number five.

Ocean.

This is Slade.

I see that you are awake.

I always thought you work too hard.

-Fenn. - Monica. How long.

Not long enough.

Listen, I have an article.

It's something that I think the Examiner will love .

An event.

A healing, possibly divine.

I swear it is true.

You were never interested in the truth. You only cared about fame.

I understand that you are skeptical, but ...

You still don't get it, do you?

Mentiste.

They found out that you made up stories.

You almost ruined the reputation of this newspaper.

Many lost their jobs because of you.

Resist the next urge to call me.

Shit

-Do you think Maria will heal me, dad? -Let's pray to him.

Friends. Please. Please!

I asked Alice to stay inside.

Obviously, we are happy and grateful for his recovery ...

... but I think this is a bit overwhelming for her.

So today nothing is going to happen.

If you could go home, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Alice.

Thanks.

Do you believe in miracles?

Do you have faith in Maria?

Yes.

Then walk.

I can not.

Mary entrusts you to walk.

But I can not.

This fe.

Ave Maria...

... you are full of Grace, the Lord is with you.

You are blessed between all womans...

... and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Santa Maria...

... mother of God, pray for us sinners ...

...now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

LAST NEWS

Here is some strange news from our local affiliate.

The town of Banfield in central Massachusetts.

A paralyzed boy named Toby Walsh says he was healed ...

... by 18-year-old Alice Pagett.

Images of the miracle have gone viral.

Bishop James Gyles of the Archdiocese of Boston ...

... announced a press conference this morning.

1858. A French girl named Bernadette Soubirous ...

... said that he had had a series of visits from the Blessed Virgin ...

... in a grotto on the outskirts of Lourdes.

1917, in Fatima, Portugal.

Three shepherd children reported seeing the Virgin Mary ...

... followed by miracles, prophecies.

1981, Medjugorje, Bosnia.

Six witnesses witnessed a Marian apparition.

Many say that the Holy Mother continues to visit this shrine.

In the present.

The three shrines attract millions of worshipers every year.

In Lourdes alone, more than 5,000 miraculous healings have been recorded.

Excuse me, are you saying that Banfield could become a sanctuary?

Well, first we have to confirm ...

... that a miracle actually happened.

That is why Monsignor Delgarde was assigned by the Vatican ...

... to investigate these alleged healings.

Mgr.

In the 18th century, Pope Benedict XIV ...

... defined a procedure to determine the veracity of a miracle.

The guidelines are:

The disorder must be incurable.

The healing must be instantaneous.

The healing must be total.

In my role as inquisitor ...

... I will make use of all available medical science and technology ...

... to disprove the supposed miracle ...

... and expose any deception.

If I fail, the miracle will be considered genuine.

Until then, the church installed a guard over the place ...

... to protect you from the elements and the public.

Mgr.

Yes Yes. Gary.

When will we see Alice Pagett and Toby Walsh?

The Walsh family requested privacy at this time ...

... and we will respect your wishes.

But Ms. Pagett is willing to speak with you of her own accord.

Alice, you don't have to ...

You don't have to go in there if you don't want to.

It's okay, Dr. Gates. It is what the Lady wants.

The Lady you say appeared to you ...

... is it the Virgin Mary?

What exactly did he tell you?

Do you suffer from any mental illness?

Have you received any monetary incentive to declare this?

How is the lady?

She wears a sparkly white dress.

It radiates a light like that of the sun on a foggy day.

And how does it speak to you?

Is it an internal voice?

Have you ever used drugs?

When did you see her for the first time?

Five nights ago, in the country.

You were there.

And what does Maria want?

Our faith.

They tell me that we will have privacy here.

Please.

I am surprised that Father Hagan missed the conference.

Yes, Father Hagan is unfortunately not feeling well.

Sorry.

The idea of your church becoming a sanctuary must excite you.

We'll see.

Alice speaks perfectly ...

... despite never having heard anyone speak.

How do you explain that?

There are various degrees of deafness.

Alice may have had some unconscious hearing.

-Please. -Are you a Catholic?

Catholic upbringing. I am not practicing.

Neither spiritually nor professionally apparently.

My lack of faith could be an advantage.

Have a neutral observer record the process ...

... would be healthy.

Maybe they will find someone more devoted, but ...

They would not see it as impartial. Yes.

Give me the exclusive.

Only I will talk to Alice.

I promise you that I will be fair.

And if for some reason these miracles turn out to be false ...

... I will bear the consequences.

Alice seems more willing to talk to you.

Holiness, this man's reputation ...

Yes, I know, Vincent.

Everyone deserves a second chance.

Even Mr. Fenn.

I asked if I could enter the church choir.

All my life I've seen them sing from afar.

Do you know what the worst thing about being deaf is?

I said: Do you know what the worst thing about being deaf is?

-What? -You can't hear the music ...

... but you can feel it.

If you turn up the volume and put something too loud ...

... like the 1812 Overture ...

... you can feel the vibrations.

It is good to know that you are like any teenager.

-So, new favorite music? -I think I like country.

Oh, Alice, keep exploring.

I think I have everything ready.

How about answering a few simple questions?

How many people will see me?

It's hard to tell, but ...

... maybe millions.

Maria wants to reach as many people as possible.

Well, we want to please Maria, right?

There are...

There are people who do not believe in your miracles.

How would you respond to those people?

Seeing is believing.

Why do you think Maria chose you?

Because it gives a voice to those who don't have it ...

... and I was quiet for a long time.

I prayed devoutly to her, imploring her to heal me, and she answered me.

I opened my heart to Maria, and welcomed her.

And she heard me, Mr. Fenn.

What's more, he listened to me.

All my life, people barely saw me ...

... as if it were invisible.

Now when I walk into a room, everyone listens to me.

You understand how that is.

People used to hear it.

They paid attention to all his words.

He had a lot of power, but now he lost it.

-Stop Alice. How...? -Mary told me.

She looked at him in the field, and saw someone who needed her.

A soul that longed for his intervention.

You and the Lady want the same thing, Mr. Fenn.

Spread your message.

Take advantage of this opportunity.

Get your message out there and you will be rewarded.

Do you have any idea what I did with my book? I don't ...

I'd like to speak to Mr. Fenn in private, please.

Gyles authorized me to be here.

You just want to take advantage of her, and I don't ...

I won't let you use it.

Emphysema?

My grandmother had emphysema.

Do you think that is a good idea?

Father Hagan, your niece ... She is a wonderful young woman.

It has a gift.

Now imagine ...

Imagine what people would think ...

... if I could really see God's work in action.

Don't talk to me about God.

You would sell your soul for a story, and you know it.

I guess I don't understand what's wrong with doing something good ...

... and that some people take advantage of it.

Like you and your church.

Everybody wins.

All the world?

The bishop thinks a sanctuary would be wonderful for Banfield.

Perhaps.

I don't know if it would be wonderful for Alice.

When God builds a church ...

... the devil builds a chapel next to it.

I never thought I would hear a priest quote Martin Luther.

Sr. Fenn...

... we wage an eternal battle between good and evil.

Wherever God goes, evil follows.

The girl who saw the Virgin Mary in Lourdes ...

... the world treated her like a freak.

She lived the rest of her life locked up in a convent.

At Fatima three children saw the Virgin Mary.

Two of them died that same year.

Milagros, Sr. Fenn.

Miracles.

They are strong leaps of faith ...

... and there is nothing Satan enjoys more ...

... that corrupt our faith.

Our town was founded in the early 19th century by Catholic farmers.

The first mention is in the county assessor's almanac for 1852.

He refers to it as "Beinfild", a place of strange and terrible wonders.

Wonders? What does that refer to?

It can be anything.

A two-headed calf, a black goat.

At that time, people saw the devil behind every tree.

"There are various degrees of deafness.

Alice may have had some unconscious hearing. "

They are his words.

I entered the seminary at 19 years old.

The jesuits.

In my novitiate, I denied a case of stigma.

I caught the attention of the Holy See.

I've read the equivalent of various supernatural libraries ...

... investigated half a dozen cases of so-called miracles.

I proved they were all fake.

You know very well that I did not invent this.

It would not be the first time.

There is a part of the Bible that talks about forgiveness.

A very important concept.

If the sinner confesses what he did and actually repents.

Is there something you want to tell me?

All right, Alice. That was excellent.

Now we should try Hymn to the Virgin ...

... Maria .. .

Do you believe in Maria?

Do you have faith in it?

Do you swear to serve it with all your heart and soul?

Yes.

Yes. I need an ambulance at the Church of Our Lady.

Father Hagan collapsed.

Now I can breathe.

I can breath.

Alice, I can breathe.

From Father Hagan's most recent exam.

Notice the mass in the lower left ...

... causing a complete collapse of the lower lobe.

They gave him 6 months to live.

Father's lungs today.

Wait. Do you mean that it was cured?

It looks like it is.

How about the child? Toby Walsh? Do you already have your results?

The Children's Hospital diagnosed that he suffered from muscular dystrophy.

Without cure.

Although impossible, Toby's ailments have disappeared.

Let me see if I understood, that I did not miss something.

There are three requirements for it to be considered a miracle.

The disease must be incurable.

The cure must be instantaneous ...

... and the cure must be total.

Correct?

Oh please.

This is real. It is genuine.

It seems so, Mr. Fenn.

The requirements to validate a miracle have been met.

The pope decrees that the field where the Virgin Mary appeared ...

... is a holy shrine.

- What does Alice mean to you? - Alice is my hero.

I felt invisible, just like her.

But seeing what it has become, it is my inspiration.

-ALICE SALVA - She is a saint. Noticeable.

She will be more famous than Taylor Swift. I know.

Nothing ever happens in Banfield.

This is huge, right?

-Where are you going? -Far away from here.

-Do not miracles make you happy? -No, they don't make me happy.

I like that God stays where He belongs.

Up there.

When it comes down here, bad things happen.

Floods, locust plagues.

The God of the Old Testament is wrathful.

What if something makes you angry?

The impact on Banfield's economy cannot be overestimated.

In Europe the sanctuaries of Lourdes and Fatima ...

... attract 6 million tourists a year.

Monica, I'm a little surprised to hear from you.

Well, I spoke to management.

We decide that 10 years is enough.

You already paid your debt.

Although it sounds very tempting, I will move on.

-What? - I want a section, Monica.

Special news.

I want to be an editor.

Are you crazy.

They call me from Chicago, New York, Washington.

All the Catholic sectors of the planet are enraptured.

I have exclusive access to Alice Pagett.

To talk to Alice, you have to contact me.

There is no article without Alice, so there is no article ...

... sin Gerry Fenn.

-I will call you later. - I'm sure of that.

Who is back?

That guy is back!

I will need new photos.

This is my home. I have never lived elsewhere.

But my uncle believed that he would be better off in the diocese.

Sorry, Alice.

It's ugly. I understand.

Where is your uncle, by the way?

He had a job at the church.

I don't know what he's going to do without me.

Who will stop you when you want to smoke?

I can't assure you, but I think it will be fine. He is a mature man.

Take it as a new adventure ...

... and in honor of that, I did something to you.

A mix.

Remember I'm an old guy.

You're going to have to put up with some classics.

The Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones, Eagles, a little bit of Tupac.

But I also investigated what young people are hearing today.

So there is some Billie Eilish, Rufus Wainwright, Smashing Pumpkins.

It is very important that you know that there is a huge world out there ...

... in addition to country .

Thanks.

He's not as big a jerk as everyone thinks.

Thanks.

The lady is pleased, Mr. Fenn.

All those people who pray to her, who believe in her ... it's because of you.

Tell the Lady you're welcome.

From the Lady.

Mrs?

From another lady.

Because you did?

What?

Why did you make up those stories?

The truth?

Yes.

Fame.

When you are on top of the world and you are the center of attention ...

...it is...

... it's like a drug ...

... and it intoxicates you. And I got carried away and ...

... I thought I was untouchable.

You sinned with pride.

Does everyone quote the Bible here?

Banfield has always been a people of faith.

Faith, yes.

Faith and superstition.

The day I arrived here ...

... my farmer friend and I found a grain doll.

-A grain baby. -Yes, there are many here.

But according to my farmer friend, not like this.

This one was chained ...

... and the chain was engraved with an impossible date.

February 31st.

What?

What?

Those dolls bring luck, right?

But they also believed that they could catch bad things, so ...

... they put a chain on them ...

... and they recorded an impossible date ...

... on that wrist, like February 31st.

They hoped that would keep the spirit trapped forever.

How is Toby Walsh?

He entered his school's soccer team.

So it is a true miracle.

One moment. I believed that doctors did not believe in miracles.

Science and God are not mutually exclusive.

I could tell you stories.

¿Fenn?

I had already seen this place.

Pequod Creek?

We used to come here on Easter Sunday for the church picnic ...

... until they sold it.

These were parish lands?

Most of Banfield was before the church was built.

When? When was it built?

-Mid-nineteenth century. -1845?

Who told you?

¿Fenn?

What's wrong?

I need to talk to Hagan.

Something happened here, something related to the church.

Confession is from 7 to 8.

Bless me, father, because I have sinned.

May the Lord be with you to confess your sins.

It has been a long time since my last confession.

Keep going.

I have taken the Lord's name in vain.

I've been greedy. I have had impure thoughts.

I have destroyed many lives.

I have led many souls to their doom ...

... and now I've come for you.

Pray three Hail Marys and ...

I healed him.

Instead of thanking me, he responded with doubts.

And what did he gain from that?

He discovered the truth at the cost of his life.

Do you really think you can stop me?

Shall I tell you what happened to those who tried?

I ripped the meat off his bones.

I cut their windpipes and watched them slowly gasp for breath.

Satan.

He gave me power to work miracles.

Ask your sweet Maria to save you.

Let's see who is stronger ...

...her...

...or me.

¡No!

Father Hagan?

Father Hagan?

I do not get it.

Why would Hagan have committed suicide? It was barely healed.

Who knows what the hell was tormenting him?

Of course, this will be reported as a tragic accident.

As you will surely understand, suicide is frowned upon in our profession.

So I beg you to be discreet.

Father Hagan was the pastor of this community.

You can understand the damage it would cause now that Banfield is reborn.

Tell me one thing.

When you put on the news, what do you see?

War, famines, disease, suffering, hatred.

The devil is winning, Mr. Fenn.

Faith is the only thing that exists between us and doom.

And this place, this sanctuary, will help strengthen our faith ...

...Thanks to you.

Nothing would have been possible without you.

CONVENT OF SANTA MARCELA

My uncle loved me and took care of me.

He was the only relative she had.

You know, this is silly. We can do it at another time.

Maria eased his pain before calling him to his eternal rest.

She wants us to continue her work.

You know...

Your uncle thought that where God was going ...

... the devil was closely following him.

Do you think that...?

Do you think there are other forces involved?

Maria wouldn't let that happen.

Don't doubt her, Mr. Fenn.

She is the Blessed Virgin, the mother of God.

He loves us with such fervor that it burns.

Maria is talking to me now.

He says: "Doubt weakens faith.

Doubt leads to perdition. "

Blurred vision, weak knees.

No doctor knew what was wrong with me.

But with a look from Alice, I was cured.

Shut up.

She is the Blessed Virgin, the mother of God.

He loves us with such fervor that it burns.

Burning Her...

Doubt leads to doom.

Natalie.

Hello.

I do not get it. Father Hagan would not have done this.

I don't think I have.

Do you know where they keep the church records?

Yes, in the back.

I need to see the files.

The funeral is about to begin.

Agree.

We meet here today ...

... to pay tribute to Father William Hagan.

Do you have any idea what we're looking for down here?

Anything related to 1845.

Look, I'll tell you a mystery.

Not all of us will sleep ...

... but we will be transformed in an instant.

Baptism

Natalie.

Look at this.

In latin.

Oh no. Agree.

I studied Latin at the university.

Father Prescott's will.

Regarding the witch and the bride of Satan.

Mary Elnor.

For the trumpet will sound ...

... the dead will be raised ...

...incorruptibles...

... and we will be transformed.

Mary performed miracles.

He healed the sick. Oh, this is ...

No, go on. Keep reading.

She said that the Virgin Mary spoke through her .

He healed you if you gave him your soul.

Who will challenge her ...

... suffered a tragic death.

Finally the people resisted.

Maria was captured and submerged in the icy waters of ...

The Pequod stream.

Mary confessed that she served Satan.

As punishment, they nailed a mask to Maria's face ...

... with the image of the Blessed Virgin.

They hung Maria from an old oak tree in the shadow of the church.

In the name of Christ our Lord ...

They burned his body.

His ashes and his soul were imprisoned in a grain doll.

¡Contenla!

We praise the soul of William Hagan ...

Alice...

... in the sight of this world ...

... now he's dead.

Maria has spoken to me.

Tonight is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

To celebrate, Mary wants us to have a mass in the sanctuary.

After the death of Mary, her miracles were extinguished.

All those he had cured relapsed.

How awful. Father Hagan must have found this book.

He discovered the truth. That is why Maria killed him.

Hagan believed that wherever God went, evil followed.

These miracles are not God.

Join us in this Mass.

It's Mary Elnor posing as the Virgin Mary ...

Open your hearts to him.

... doing the devil's work.

Bring an urgent message to share with everyone ...

... if you believe in it.

I think! I think!

Natalie.

What?

¿Fenn?

Runs!

-¡Fenn! -¡Corre!

Alice must be warned!

Alice, did you have a vision?

Please! What do you say to all these people who are suffering?

Not right now. Stand back.

Just a few more questions.

Not right now.

-Not a good time, Monica. - Deal done.

You will run the special news section ...

... but I need you at the office today.

I want your interviews with Alice ...

... and I want access to it.

The story, no. I ... Listen to me, I got it all wrong.

What is this? Did they offer you something better?

You're not listening to me. This has to be abandoned.

Fenn, you are back.

This is your last chance. You have it all.

I know you. You would sell your soul for a story.

I think I already did.

We have to hurry.

Alice is at the convent.

ARCHDIOCESE OF BOSTON

-Sir, you're in a meeting. -Mr. Fenn.

Before dying, Father Hagan discovered the truth.

Mire.

175 years ago, in 1845 ...

... a woman named Mary Elnor performed the same healings as Alice.

But the origin of his power was not divine, it was satanic.

I know a lot about that, Mr. Fenn.

As soon as the first miracle was reported, my staff investigated Banfield.

Mary Elnor's confession is on file with the diocese.

-Why didn't you inform me about this? -What had to be reported?

An ugly case of self-righteousness that occurred nearly two centuries ago?

Maria killed him.

Father Hagan committed suicide, Mr. Fenn.

Lie.

It will kill anyone who tries to stop it.

What do you expect me to do? That I cancel the mass?

What mass?

The Lady spoke through Alice.

He asked for a mass to be held in the sanctuary ...

... to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

No way. That cannot happen.

It will collect the souls of all who believe it.

Why? Why is this being done, Mr. Fenn?

Has it all.

Why do you want to destroy your career again?

Because it's the truth.

And believe me, I'll tell the world.

And who is going to believe him?

No, the nuns won't let me see her. By orders of the bishop.

I'm in the archives of the diocese, and I think I found something.

Listen to this: the last confession of Mary.

I was pregnant.

Before her capture, Maria gave birth to a son.

Confession of Mary Elnor

And that baby was claimed by a local landowner.

Well, his name ...

Amazing.

His name was Nicholas Pagett.

¿Pagett?

Alice is a descendant of Maria ...

... and Mary made a pact with the devil in exchange for eternal life and power.

"I live through my children."

Alice.

It will be reborn through Alice.

I'm losing you, Fenn.

¿Natalie?

Now do you believe me?

Alice is a descendant of Maria.

Mary's pact with the devil. "I will live through my children."

Maria can only live through her own lineage.

-Alice is in danger. -Everyone is in danger.

Mass tonight.

All those people praying to Mary, feeding her with their faith.

Faith in evil empowers evil.

Tears of the Miraculous Child

Alice Saves

Gentlemen.

I ask you to be on the lookout for this man.

His name is Gerald Fenn.

Bring problems.

We don't want unnecessary incidents.

Yes sir.

Thanks.

The bishop confined Alice until after mass.

By then it will be too late.

According to satanic rites ...

... Mary will make a charade of the Holy Trinity.

He will ask the faithful to pledge their devotion to him three times.

The third will take their souls ...

... and condemn them to an eternity in hell.

When the choir finishes the Angelus ...

... I will offer the petitions, I will recite the responsorial psalm ...

Alice, it's time.

Alice, do you hear me?

LIVE FROM THE BANFIELD SANCTUARY

MASS FOR THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Queen and my mother ...

... I give myself completely to you ...

... and to show you my devotion ...

... I consecrate you today ...

... my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart ...

... my whole being without reservation.

Therefore, mother, as your child ...

... keep me and protect me ...

... as your property and possession.

Amen.

Let's pray.

This ritual is our last hope.

I'll use the Grain Doll.

I will catch their soul like they did in the past.

It's my fault.

I broke that thing. I released Maria.

He was trying to make a ridiculous story more interesting.

-You never told me that. -I tried. I wanted to do it.

God always offers an opportunity for redemption.

Sometimes he chooses a sinner to fulfill his divine purpose.

Do you mean that God chose me?

I mean the Lord works in mysterious ways.

Some more mysterious than others.

This requires the blessing of a bishop ...

... or if you can't, from a monsignor.

Then the wax must be sealed with holy fire.

This flame represents the presence of the living God.

Back!

OMG!

We can't stop Maria without Delgarde.

Look at all these people praying to him.

It feeds on your faith and grows strong.

What destroys faith?

The doubt.

Doubt weakens faith. Doubt leads to doom.

If we can get them to stop believing in Mary, we can take away her power.

God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.

Lord have mercy.

God, the Son, Redeemer, have mercy on us.

Cristo, that misericordia.

God the Holy Spirit have mercy on us.

Lord have mercy.

Amen.

Maria is here.

She wants you to swear to be faithful to her.

Let it enter your hearts. Pray to him.

Pray to Our Lady of Banfield.

Ave Maria.

You are the spirit that never dies.

The eternal, the almighty.

Ave Maria de Banfield.

Hail Mary of Banfield!

We give you our hearts.

We swear our eternal devotion.

Our souls are at your mercy.

Hail Mary of Banfield!

With one voice we acclaim you. Come to us.

Heal our pain, free us from our suffering.

Guide us!

Hail Mary of Banfield!

Now, Alice. The moment has come.

Do they give their souls to Mary?

Yes!

It is a hoax!

I fabricated the miracles.

Fenn.

Listen to me.

Do they give their souls to Mary?

Yes!

Please.

¡Alice!

One more time, Alice.

Do you get ...

... their souls ...?

¡Alice!

Maria is not who you think.

He is cheating on you.

Miracles are false.

There is no Maria. Never existed.

Lie!

Let him speak.

Day.

Go ahead, Mr. Fenn.

I made up this whole story. I made it up.

Lies.

Mary healed me.

Alice...

...so sorry.

Your illness resolved itself.

He healed my son!

It's called the "placebo effect."

Your son...

His son believed he could walk, and he did.

Father Hagan raised you.

I love you. It was your family.

She killed him.

I am Maria.

You prayed to me and I listened to you.

Father Hagan ...

... hanged himself in his church.

You asked me to shut up to cover it up, and I did.

They can't believe this man.

He is a blasphemer.

An atheist.

Maria has been using you.

Trust me. I need you to trust me.

Fight it!

I am responsible!

I made everything up to create a story.

Let me ask you a question.

Tell me, what has more credibility?

That an unethical journalist deceived them ...

... or that God Himself ...

... reached out and touched ...

... Banfield?

¡Alice!

Trust me.

Make these people stop believing in her.

Fight!

Alice...

...listen to me.

End the sentence.

They must give me their souls ...

... or you will never speak again.

Mr. Fenn is telling the truth.

Maria is not real.

Amazing.

Mary is not real!

Lied!

Was it all a hoax?

"You should be ashamed of yourself!" -It's a hoax!

My legs!

I can't move my legs!

ALICE SAVE

What the heck ...?

Christ our Lord.

¡Fenn!

Alice was your only descendant.

You will never live again.

Alice.

It's okay. Sight.

We both know I'm not good at this.

But...

... Alice, she ...

... she sacrificed herself for me.

Please God.

Let her live.

Please.

Hears. Hello.

You do not hear me?

I've never said anything worth listening to.

Thanks.

WILLIAM MAKE A Father To Us All

He was a good man, Alice.

I have no doubt that he is looking out for you.

How do I know?

Fe.

I have been practicing.

I heard they are looking for journalists in the local newspaper.

I don't think anyone will hire me as a journalist.

I didn't say anything about journalism.

They cover zoning laws and the Farmer's Almanac.

Just think about it.

He had no pulse. He was not breathing.

Was gone.

Maybe God was present after all.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing ...

... but inside they are ravenous wolves. MATTHEW 7:15
