You donated so much moneyjust for this amulet.

I even think it's too much.

It'll work better when you donate more.

I'm sure this amulet willmake Yu safe and happy.

Yu is lucky to have aloving mother like you.

Shiliu, you are childless,so you don't understand.

A child is everything to his mother.

Whenever I think about Yu,I'd feel my life is full of hope.

Otherwise, we live in the back yardand we seldom see His Lordship...

Shiliu, I wasn't talking about you.

Please don't take it personally.

It's okay.

I know you are a straightforward person.

I won't take it personally.

(Xianling Pavilion)

Come and take a look.

We'll pass by Xianling Pavilion soon.

Maybe Her Ladyship is also there.

Shall we go there and checkif there's any trendy fabric

so that we can make new clothes?

But is it okay to go back home late?

We'll go there and come backtogether with Her Ladyship.

Great Madam won't blame us.

Come on.

The fabric, embroidery pattern andstitches of this silk handkerchief

are exactly the same as thispiece of fabric you kept.

Where did you get this piece of silk?

I found it from HisLordship's eldest son.

When we checked the records of theinventory, Concubine Wen did asked

for this type of fabric before.

It's a match.

But people always say that MarquisYongping is a righteous person.

Why would he kill innocent people?

That's right.

Even though what the coronerand the hunter said

and this embroiderydirectly point to him,

it's only collateral evidence.

We can't make an arbitrarydecision that it's Marquis

who killed your mother just with this.

When he was drunk,

I asked him.

He said it was his fault

that my mother died.

But I still don't want to believe it.

I heard the embroidery hereis the best in the capital.

I heard the same.

Madams, what kind ofembroidery do you want?

If we don't have it on display,we can make customized products

for you.

Is Her Lady...

I mean, is Master Luo here?

Master Luo is in thepractice room right now.

Over there?

Yes. Please.

Thank you.

I don't believe His Lordshipwould do such thing either.

Could it be a misunderstanding?

I also hope it's a misunderstanding.

But the evidence is right here.

I...

If

It's all true, then I...

I know you feel sad.

But it's not your fault.

It should be here.

This...

Wait.

This...

Didn't... Didn't you see that? That...

(Virtue of Modesty and Patience)

Her Ladyship is not here?

My Lord.

Did Shiyi go to Xianling Pavilion?

Her Ladyship didn't say.

She went out early in the morning.

What's with the lanterns?

My Lord, Her Ladyship askedpeople to take them down.

Why did you stop me?

Why can't we just confront Her Ladyship?

Lower your voice.

I can tell right away that theman is Her Ladyship's lover.

Didn't you see that?

They were so close.

I was almost scared to death.

I don't think so.

Her Ladyship isn't that type of person.

She wouldn't do such thingbehind His Lordship's back.

Don't do anything recklesslybefore you find out the truth.

You'd be in trouble if you caused chaos.

Then what kind of person she is?

She goes to Xianling Pavilion every day.

Is it really just forteaching embroidery?

My Lord.

Oh, no.

I was talking loud.

Did His Lordship hear me?

I'm sure he did.

He must be on his way toXianling Pavilion now.

It's bad. It's so bad.

Would he get mad at mebecause of what I said?

He doesn't have time tobe mad at you right now.

Hope nothing will happento Xianling Pavilion.

Let's go and take a look.

Come on. Let's go.

But...

If your mother was reallykilled by His Lordship,

what should we do?

The details still remain unclear.

We'd better investigate it carefully.

Then how should we investigate it?

Let me take a walk first.

Be careful.

Shiyi.

Go home with me.

Go home with me.

You need to ask for her opinion first.

Who are you?

I'm Shiyi's friend.

If she doesn't want to go,you can't force her to.

My Lord, I just remembered.

He's Ou Yanxing, the second son of the Ou family.

What's your purpose ofapproaching my wife?

Has your Ou family becomeshameless like this?

There's nothing between Shiyi and me.

How dare you call her Shiyi?

My Lord.

Mr. Ou isn't the type ofperson you think he is.

Mr. Ou?

So you knew thathe's one of the Ou family

and you were still seeing him?

Stop fighting.

Xu Lingyi.

Shiyi.

It's dangerous. Put down the scissors.

You really don't care aboutpeople's lives?

You are actually threateningme with your own life for him?

Put down the scissors.

Put down the sword.

My Lord.

My Lord.

My Lord.

Your Ladyship. What have you done?

My Lord.

Linbo.

Let's go.

- My Lord.- My Lord.

My Lord.

Oh, gosh.

How did you get hurt?

- A lot of blood.- My Lord.

Take His Lordship back.

Your Ladyship, is it you?

Is it you who stabbed His Lordship?

Why did you do that?

Just say someone tried to assassinateme outside of the capital.

What happened here todaymust be kept a secret.

Otherwise, you'll all beexpelled from the Xu family.

Let's go.

His Lordship still needs togo to Shandong in a couple of days.

Stop talking.

Let's go.

My Lord.

Great Madam.

What happened?

Tell me.

We Encountered assassinsoutside of the capital.

Assassins?

You are his Vice General.

How did you fail in protecting him?

Oh, no.

It's a lot of blood.

How badly he must have wounded.

Mother.

We have to report this.

According to the imperial edict,

His Lordship will have toleave for Shandong in three days.

If we don't report this accident, and he can't leave in three days,

he'll be punishedfor defying the imperial edict.

That makes sense.

Kuan'er, go, now.

Yes, Mother.

Don't go.

Do not report this.

The wound is quite deep.

Lingyi.

Mother.

How did... How did you get hurt?

Tell me.

Why can't we report this?

With your condition, how can you go to Shandong?

If we don't report this, how can we explain to His Majesty?

Defying the imperial edictis a capital offense.

Lingyi, you'll get yourself killed.

I have my reasons.

Do as I say.

Mother,

promise me.

Alright.

I'll listen to you.

I promise.

Physician, please treat Lingyi carefully.

His Lordship needs rest.

Everybody, please leave and let him rest.

Okay.

Lingyi needs rest.

Let's go back.

This thing is quite strange.

Lingyi wouldn't tell me the truth.

But I know he's hiding something from me.

Now, get someone toinvestigate this thing

and find out what happened exactly.

Yes.

His Lordship bled a lot.

Would he...

Look how timid you are.

Nothing even happened yet.

His Lordship is a war veteran.

He has been hurt much worsethan this for so many times.

I'm sure he'll be fine.

But I didn't expect that he'd sodesperately protect that Luo...

Protect Her Ladyship.

Maybe we should tell Great Madamhow His Lordship got hurt exactly.

Otherwise, I won't feel at easekeeping a secret like this.

We already deliberatelykept it from Great Madam

since we didn't tell her earlier.

If you told her now,she wouldn't appreciate it,

and we'd offend His Lordship.

I'd rather keep it a secret allthe way then be hesitant about it.

Also, do not tell anybody aboutthat man and Her Ladyship.

His Lordship knew it already.

If he doesn't say anything,we should pretend that we know nothing.

Yes.

Do you remember what I said?

Yes.

And you also need to keep it a secret.

I won't tell. I won't.

Your Ladyship.

I don't think you should go inthere before His Lordship wakes up.

What do you know?

It's not like what you think.

His Lordship was...

General Fu,

I didn't hurt His Lordship on purpose.

And now, I just hope he can recover soon.

If you are worried, you can guard him and

take care of him together with me.

General Fu, His Lordship needssomeone to take care of him.

If you don't allow Her Ladyshipto look after him,

others will be suspicious, which isn't something

His Lordship would hope for.

Just say someone tried to assassinateme outside of the capital.

What happened here todaymust be kept a secret.

Otherwise, you'll all beexpelled from the Xu family.

Don't go.

Do not report this.

Your Ladyship, you haven't hadanything since you got back.

General Fu and Zhaoying are takingcare of His Lordship right now.

You should eat something first.

Your Ladyship, you didn't do iton purpose anyway.

I'm afraid I wronged His Lordship.

What made you say that, Your Ladyship?

His Lordship asked them notto tell it's me who hurt him,

and he asked Mother not to report this.

He's hurt because of me.

But even when his life was in danger,

he still tried so hard to protect me.

How could such a personkill innocent people?

Come to think of it,all the evidence came together too quickly.

First the coroner appeared, then the hunter, and that arrow...

They all led me to suspect His Lordship.

So what should we do now?

At the moment,His Lordship's safety matters the most.

Let's wait till His Lordship wakes up.

Your Ladyship,

this medicine has to betaken six times a day,

and one time for each hour, which must be strictly followed.

Someone needs to be around all day long.

I'm worried that you'll get tired.

Why don't you go back?

Zhaoying and I willtake care of His Lordship.

Don't worry.

I will help himtake the medicine on time.

If you are still worried, you can stay here and watch.

My Lord,

as long as you can wake up,

I'm willing totake all the responsibility.

What are you doing?

General Fu, I slipped.

I didn't do it on purpose.

You slipped?

You think I'm blind?

I saw that.

You did that on purpose.

Yes, I did.

But things usually happen for a reason.

If you ask people first why they dothat, you may not think

it's too much.

You are such a sharp-tonguedand unreasonable girl.

How could it make you rightwhen you sprayed water on me?

Right or not,we'll find out after argument.

It's way better than making agroundless judgment like you did.

You are so disrespectful.

Come back.

(Xianling Pavilion)

Master Jian, any news about Shiyi?

Shiyi asked a maid to send a message.

His Lordship is still in a coma, but he's out of danger now.

That's good.

Otherwise, it'd be more difficultfor Shiyi to survive in Xu family.

That's right.

As long as His Lordship is there,no one would dare hurt Shiyi.

He even tried to protect herwhen he was badly injured.

I'm sure he won't hurther after he wakes up.

Your Ladyship, you haven't slept for two nights.

You should go back and take a rest.

We'll stay here.

If His Lordship wakes up,we'll let you know right away.

Your Ladyship, the physician saidHis Lordship will get better.

Don't worry.

My Lord.

My Lord. You wake up.

Amber, go get the physician.

Yes.

My Lord.

My Lord.

How long have I been out?

My Lord, you slept for two days.

Help me to pack.

We need to leave for Shandong.

You are not allowed to go anywhere.

Mother.

Yi'er, just stay at home and get better.

I'll let Linbo report yoursituation to the court,

and ask Shuntian Prefecture Officeto investigate it.

I've got to find out who actually dared

assassinate a high-rankingofficial right in the capital.

Sorry, Mother, for making you worried.

But I'm the only one who cantake care of the disaster relief.

How can you go there whenyou are injured like this?

Then tell me who stabbed you?

Mother, it's... Mother.

I suspect that Ou family is takingadvantage of the disaster relief

and embezzling the relief funds.

Otherwise, why would OuLixing, the Vice Minister

of Ministry of Rites, volunteer to do the Ministry of Revenue's job?

Perhaps the Ou family

even had something to dowith the assassination,

so that they can make me stay.

If we investigate it right now,we'll fall right into their plan.

And if Ou Lixing has me replaced, the people will suffer even more.

Therefore,we can't take any impulsive action.

In that case,I'm worried about you even more.

You are seriously injured.

If Ou family...

But if I put my personal safety

before the court and thepeople, our Xu family will

be nothing different from the Ou family.

For our country and ourfamily, I have to go this time.

But with your condition...

The injury is no big deal.

Don't divorce me.

And you don't have to cover it for me.

Leave Xu family,

find someone you like and get married.

But you can't trust Ou Yanxing.

The people of the Ou familyare scheming and crafty.

They won't treat you with sincerity.

I've known Ou Yanxing for two years.

Back then he used the name, Lin Shixian.

I have just found out whohe really is recently.

Even though he's one of the Ou family,

he doesn't get along with hisfamily, and he's not a crafty person.

To be honest,

over the past year,I've been investigating my mother's death.

Ou Yanxing has been helpingme with the investigation.

One day, I met the coronerwho checked my mother's body.

He told me that my motherdied from an arrow shot.

And someone found the arrow on that day,

which is exactly the same asXu family's three-edged arrow.

There is someone who witnessed thatyou shot the hostage, my mother,

to death in order to catch the fugitive.

Even if they claim that it'sme who shot your mother,

do you think

it's possible that I tookaway the pirate's body

You also shot me without hesitationwhile pursuing a fugitive.

So... So I couldn't help but suspect you.
