The Sweet Girl Season 2

Episode 3

Manager Lu,

Madam Ling wants a dress made.

So she asked you to see her.

Right now?

Yes.

Manager Lu.

For the poisoning you suffered last time,

Madam Ling is still under house arrest in the ancestral hall.

You'd better not go now.

It's fine.

What's meant to happen will happen.

You can't avoid it.

Mr. Pei,

I'll go visit the Su family now.

I'll go to see you directly when I'm done.

OK.

I'll be waiting for you.

Please.

Madam,

Manager Lu is here.

Madam Ling.

Manager Lu!

Look at this dress of mine.

You always like brightly colored dresses.

Now, with this plain dress,

you've refreshed me with a little elegance.

You got a different kind of charm.

It looks so comfortable.

Now I see.

No wonder there is no dress Manager Lu can't sell.

Whatever dress it is,

as long as you comment on it,

it'll certainly be sold out.

It's very lovely of you.

What a pity!

Yuyan just doesn't have such talent to make others happy.

No wonder she got falsely blamed by Yinran.

Falsely?

Yeah.

She thought that spider was cool

and novel.

So she borrowed it for a couple of days.

Out of the blue, that eight-legged thing

went to your room itself

and bit you.

Madam Ling,

this incident has been

well investigated.

That eight-legged thing

didn't crawl into my room itself.

Miss Qiao put it in.

You're saying Yuyan meant to hurt you?

I...

Manager Lu!

Do you know that because of that remark you said

Yuyan was sent back to the hometown,

her destiny to be with Yinran was broken,

and my husband put me under house arrest in the ancestral hall

for over half a month.

But she almost sent me to hell.

That's the truth.

She hurt me.

She deserves the punishment.

You...!

So you think

we deserve all this?

Madam Ling,

if you want me here

just to vent your anger,

I'm not going to stay.

You're senior, so I'm not going to make you pay

for the slap.

But if you're going to

prosecute me for this in the future,

I will not refrain myself anymore.

Wait!

These dresses

were for my punishment at the ancestral hall.

No matter how well you praised them,

I don't want to see them anymore.

But the cloth is extremely precious.

So change them for me.

My request is your business.

What?

You want to refuse?

OK.

I'll do it.

I'll deliver you

the draft tomorrow.

Tomorrow?

I can't wait that long.

I trust your craftsmanship the most.

So do it right here.

It won't take you much time.

I...

I don't have the tailoring tools.

I've got them all for you.

Sir,

you cook them yourself?

It's the first time Lu ate here.

I want her to taste these dishes cooked by me.

Sir,

I've got this gift for you.

Thank you.

Put it there.

Madam Ling,

it's time to eat.

Bring them here.

Yes.

Manager Lu,

you still haven't finished my dress?

You're not as good at tailoring as you used to be.

Almost there. Almost there.

I'm going to eat.

Why don't you do it outside?

What?

So, after you accepted the job, Manager Lu,

you want to reject it now?

This is not in Cloud Fashion Workshop's rules.

I will finish the job well.

I still have to celebrate Mr. Pei's birthday.

Mi Jiu'er,

be calm.

Sir,

you've been busy for a whole day.

Have a good rest at home.

Mr. Luo!

Mr. Luo, you've finally come back.

Lvshui?

It's so late at night.

What are you doing here?

Manager Lu was called by the Madam Ling in the afternoon

and hasn't come back yet.

I'm worried if something happened to her.

Well...

Sir,

it's so late at night.

Is Miss Lu not coming?

She went to see Madam Ling

and hasn't come yet.

Is she caught in any trouble?

I'm going to take a look.

Sir!

Sir,

no one sells cakes at Colorful Cloud Town.

I had a hard time finding the ingredients

to make this cake myself.

But you won't even look at it?

How did I fall asleep?

Crap!

Mr. Pei's birthday.

Mi Jiu'er,

you sleepy head!

She really has been working here all night?

Madam,

shall we stop doing this to Manager Lu?

You want me to hold this anger

to torture myself?

How have you changed my dress?

Sorry.

Well...

You did this?

Um, well...

Yinran,

you look like

haven't slept for a whole night.

Maybe you should go back and take a nap.

Mother,

I'm not sleepy.

I just want to play Go with father.

You could never learn to lie since your childhood.

What is it about?

I...

Manager Lu hasn't been back for a whole night,

so you're worried?

It's okay.

I'll see how she's doing for you.

Thank you, father and mother.

I'll go back then.

Take a nap.

Yinran has

finally fallen in love.

You mean

his feelings for Lu Yiling...

Yeah!

In that case,

they make

quite a good couple.

Early on, rumor has it that

the relationship between Yinran and Manager Lu isn't regular.

Now I saw Yinran worry about her.

The rumor seems

to be true.

Yinran is precocious.

In addition to what happened when he was young,

he usually doesn't open up to outsiders.

Before this,

I was afraid he'd end up spending his life alone.

Honey,

why did you think so?

Yinran is excellent.

Why would he end up spending his life alone?

He found a girl he loves.

How perfect and rare

this is!

If his real mother

could see this in the heaven,

she'd be very happy for sure.

Oh!

Let's find them

a prestigious master to

check their Four Pillars of Destiny

and find the most suitable date for their marriage as soon as possible.

Honey,

before they even are together,

you've already decided the name of

our grandson?

OK. OK.

I'll take a look at Manager Lu,

so as not to keep Yinran worried.

Ling.

Madam Yun.

Manager Lu.

Yun,

look.

This is the dress Manager Lu changed for me.

How is it?

Looks good?

Yun,

what's so funny?

Does it look good?

She devoted herself to making it for you.

It looks very good of course.

Ling,

I need to talk to Manager Lu.

Now,

you don't need her to

do anything else, right?

No. No.

Do you stuff.

I'll put this on to

go to the Qi family's tea party.

Go ahead.

She's been making things difficult on you, right?

Actually,

she's not a bad person.

She's just a little wayward.

When you're with me,

you can skip all formalities.

Think of it as walking with a friend.

Madam Yun,

I have a question.

I just don't know if it's proper to ask.

All questions are proper.

Just ask.

You and Mr. Su love each other so much.

Why did he marry Madam Ling?

And you give Madam Ling so much favor.

Aren't you afraid that she'd lure Mr. Su away from you?

Silly girl,

what's yours

can never be taken away.

And

you can't keep what's not yours.

My girl,

listen to me carefully.

The one I love

is always you,

and only you.

You already have someone you love?

No.

No.

Tell you what.

If

you have someone you love,

you must cherish him well.

After all, in this vast number of people,

someone that you love

and who loves you as well

is very hard to find.

My good girl,

if you follow your heart,

you won't be wrong.

Thank you for sharing so much with me.

I'll remember those.

Then,

I should be on my way back.

Mr. Luo,

I need a leave.

Can you...

Get some rest.

R-Really?

Thank you, Mr. Luo.

You've worked for a whole night.

Have a good sleep.

Zhenyu,

come here.

Manager Lu?

How can I help?

Look.

I want to buy my friend a gift.

And I need your advice.

Take a look.

Do you men like

this kind of leather wallet?

This leather wallet

must be expensive.

So, this won't embarrass me, right?

Of course not.

But Manager Lu,

who are you giving it to?

I've got to go.

Bye.

See you.

Miss Lu,

this way, please.

Sir,

Miss Lu is here.

Lu!

Mr. Pei.

Mr. Pei.

Mr. Pei, I'm really sorry for yesterday.

I got caught up in something.

It's okay.

I won't blame you.

Oh!

I don't know what you like,

so I got you this leather wallet.

I know this birthday gift

came a little late.

Not at all.

As long as it's your gift,

I like it.

Sir,

Mr. Su sent someone to

request your visit.

I just came back from his house this morning.

And father wants me to go there again?

What's it about?

Um,

he didn't say.

Why is Lu Yiling not here yet?

Manager Lu acted mysteriously.

But

I guess she's planning something surprising for you.

What do you mean?

But Manager Lu,

who are you giving it to?

A friend who has helped me many times.

I've got to go.

See you.

Bye.

A friend who has helped her many times?

I see.

This friend...

It must be you, sir.

You mean she's going to get me a gift?

Why?

Maybe she's thought it over,

and she's telling you her feelings for you.

Is that so?

Let's go.

Father, mother.

Mr. Pei.

I just got exhausted in this game.

Come here.

Play it for me.

OK.

Be careful.

Come on.

Be careful.

Mr. Luo, please.

You're an infrequent guest, Mr. Pei.

To what do this family owe the pleasure of your visit?

I'm asking Mr. Su for a favor.

Mr. Pei came here to

propose marriage.

Propose marriage?

Father, only Su Yi and I are your children.

I wonder who Mr. Pei is proposing to marry?

Cloud Fashion Workshop's manager,

Lu Yiling.

Lu Yiling?

Yes.

I shouldn't have come to bother Mr. Su with this,

but Lu doesn't have a family now,

and a major thing like marriage proposal

requires a senior to witness in order to be proper

in my opinion.

Since Lu resides at Cloud Fashion Workshop,

I should've proposed to the owner of Cloud Fashion Workshop.

However, you're still not married, Mr. Luo,

so you can't be my witness.

So then I thought since Mr. Su is closely related to Cloud Fashion Workshop,

he's as well the senior for me and Lu.

So,

I hope Mr. Su would accept it.

Yinran,

since you're the owner of Cloud Fashion Workshop,

I asked you to come

in order to ask for your opinion.

Father,

Lu Yiling's marriage is her own personal matter.

None of us can make a decision for her.

In that case,

I'll have to make my own decision.

Marriage is

the last thing to be taken lightly.

Mr. Pei, you haven't spent much time with Miss Lu,

so maybe you don't know

Lu Yiling is stupid

and quick-tempered.

On the contrary, I think these make her

very cute.

She likes to bear grudges

and does things in extreme and irrational ways.

I don't mind.

Moreover,

she has countless flaws.

Mr. Pei,

are you sure you want to marry her?

Even if she has thousands of flaws,

it's still her who I want to marry,

the girl with thousands of flaws.

Mr. Pei is so passionate in this love.

But,

Lu Yiling is Cloud Fashion Workshop's manager.

She has worked hard with Yinran to

get the business this far.

If she marries you

and goes to Haicheng with you,

I'm worried that

Cloud Fashion Workshop can't cope with that

and will plunge into chaos for a while.

Yinran,

what do you think?

Cloud Fashion Workshop can keep going

no matter who leaves.

But only Manager Lu herself can decide if she wants it.

If she doesn't

want it,

you can never take her away, Mr. Pei.

Why don't you think I can?

Mr. Pei,

in fact,

I'm not refusing your proposal,

but I think what Yinran just said makes sense.

A relationship

happens between a man and a woman.

If Manager Lu accepts your proposal,

I will help you.

But,

it'll depend on what Manager Lu wants.

I understand what you mean, Mr. Su.

I'll make her accept me.

You won.

Let's call it a day.

Mr. Pei,

stay for dinner.

No, thanks!

I have business to attend to.

See you.

Isn't this

the leather wallet Manager Lu bought?

Yes.

She came specially to give me this today.

What's the matter?

N-Nothing.

Honey...

Sir,

have some tea and pastry

and get some rest.

Put them here first.

After you came back from the Su family's mansion,

you seem to feel very good.

You have good news?

I proposed to the Su family the marriage with Lu.

What?

A marriage proposal?

Go to Cloud Fashion Workshop

and deliver it to Lu for me.

What's the matter?

Nothing.

I'm just thinking if your decision

is too hasty.

When I was very young,

my father taught me that

no matter what I deal with,

I must strike first.

I've been doing very well in business.

But in terms of Lu,

I'm always behind Luo Yinran.

I don't want to wait any longer this time.

Hurry up.

Yes, sir.

I'll leave it to you then.

OK.

It must be done well.

You heard that?

Yes, sir!

I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Mr. Luo.

This is a letter my master told me to deliver to Manager Lu.

The letter has been received.

Mr. Luo...

Miss Chu,

Mr. Luo

will deliver the letter to Manager Lu.

Please go back.

OK.

It's just that this letter is very urgent.

I hope Mr. Luo can

deliver it to her quickly.

Lu,

I'll wait for you

at Yue Pond at 6p.m.

until I see you.

Pei Zhuo.

Master...

Manager Lu gave Mr. Pei the leather wallet as a gift,

and Mr. Pei made this appointment with Manager Lu at this late hour.

Well...

It's a little unusual.

Maybe

you should destroy this letter out right

and assign Manager Lu something to do

to keep her here.

No need.

You think I'm the type of person

who would do anything out of jealousy?

It makes sense.

Mr. Luo, look at this fabric...

What did you take the morning off for?

Cloud Fashion Workshop is so busy,

but you asked for a leave?

You'll work for longer hours today

to verify all the accounts of these two months.

V-Verify

a-all of them?

Of course.

You can also choose to deduct the half day's pay.

I,

I'm on it.

This is

just her job.

I've learned characters for so long.

It's been a long while,

but I've verified just several pages.

I thought he approved it

because he was a kind man,

but now he still wants me to make up for it.

But there's so much left.

When will I ever finish?

Sir.

Has Lu replied?

No.

Are you sure you gave her the letter in person?

Yes.

No. I must take a look myself.

Why do you come at this hour, Mr. Pei?

I'm about to close the door.

I'm here to visit Manager Lu.

I'm sorry, Mr. Pei.

We have a rule at Cloud Fashion Workshop.

No one is allowed to visit after working hours.

Sorry for bothering you.

Sir,

what are you doing?

Go back to the riverside and wait there.

I'll bring her out with me.

What?

Sir!

Sir!

Sir,

Mr. Pei just came.

And I sent him away.

About Manager Lu...

Let her go to rest early.

She doesn't need to verify anymore.

OK.

Wait.

I'll do that myself.

It's me.

Mr. Pei, why...

I'll explain later.

Have you read my letter?

Letter?

What letter?

You haven't received it indeed.

Let's go.

Let me take you to a place.

Where?

You'll see in a while.

Be careful.

Mr. Pei,

this is so mysterious.

Where are you taking me?
