No Boundary

Episode 11

Qifeng Prefecture

He was strangled to death.

There are 12 fingerprints on the victim's neck.

The person who strangled him should have six fingers.

Li Qiong Xiang doesn't have six fingers.

Could it be that we suspect the wrong person all along?

Is there anyone with six fingers in Qifeng City?

Please enjoy your meal.

Zheng Qiao'er, from the breakfast shop.

Zheng Qiao'er?

Impossible. She's a head shorter than me.

How is it possible for her to strangle the tall and powerful Li Song Bai?

If Zheng Qiao'er is from the Demon Clan,

she can do it then.

We'll know it

after investigating it.

Let me go with you.

If she's from the Demon Clan, I can protect you.

This hair

has the scent of the Demon Clan.

Who is there?

Heart Devouring Curse.

You're from the Ninth Hell.

Li Song Bai's death is related to you.

We're doing this

for the sake of the Demon Clan

so that they can see the light of day.

In order to let the Demon Clan see the light of day,

you can do whatever you want?

Since you're on Heart Devouring Curse,

that means someone is using the Heart Devouring Curse

to control the Demon Clan.

Who is your accomplice?

Who is controlling you?

To make the Heart Devouring Curse,

the Dragon Clan's blood is needed.

This is the theurgy used by the former king of Demon Clan

to control the other clans.

You noticed as soon as my Heart Devouring Curse acted up.

This is the ability that only the Dragon Clan bloodline owns.

Do you know

who you really are?

Stop it!

You don't need to care who I am.

You want to keep lying to yourself?

Your Highness.

As the bloodline of the former king,

why don't you side with the Demon Clan?

If you're willing to help us,

we'll be able to escape from the Ninth Hell soon

and free ourselves from this curse.

The bloodline in you

can sense the location of the curse source.

If you wish,

you can always find the location of the Ninth Hell

and work together with us.

The Demon Clan of the Ninth Hell is waiting for your return.

I think investigation is not needed.

How could an ordinary woman strangle a man to death?

Who is it? Knocking on the door in the middle of the night?

Qifeng Prefecture is investigating a case.

Please come with me.

It's Lord Zhan.

It's late today.

We're not receiving guest.

Please come again tomorrow.

Showing true self under the moon.

She's semi-demon.

You're a silkworm.

No wonder you have so many fingers.

I was born with

more fingers and toes than anyone else.

My strength becomes stronger at night too.

I'm indeed different from the others.

But you can't

capture me just because I was born this way.

Anyway, most of the semi-demons have poor magic power

and easily show their true self under the moon.

Your strength becomes very strong at night.

It must be the demon blood in you

feels the power of the moon.

That's why you can't control yourself.

I don't know what you are talking about.

Zheng Qiao'er, let me ask you.

Where were you last night?

Have you been to Jinxiu Textile?

My nanny said I was an ominous person.

My parents abandoned me

because I'm changeable at night.

So, I never go out at night.

Last night, Mr Li, the owner of Jinxiu Textile,

was killed.

He's killed by someone with six fingers.

If you don't tell the truth,

you'll become the suspect.

He was killed?

Nice death.

It serves him right!

You and Mr Li have personal grudge.

He's dead.

-He's really dead. -Zhan Yan,

she has motive for the murder.

Sir!

Sir!

Qiao'er's wronged!

-Qiao'er. -Nanny.

Are you all right?

They didn't torture you, did they?

We never use torture to extract confessions.

And who are you?

Lord Zhan.

This old lady is Zheng Qiao'er's nanny.

Sir, please make judgement with acuity.

Sir, please make judgement with acuity.

Sir, please make judgement with acuity.

Get up.

Sir.

Although Qiao'er has a grudge against the Li family,

she can't be the killer.

You both really have personal grudge.

It seems that the Li family is no-good.

Sir, we've already found it.

This is the autopsy report of Zheng Wan Li 15 years ago.

He has died so long ago.

Is it possible to reverse the case?

Sir,

we've checked it.

Back then, Liu Xi Mei sold Lingxiao Red to Lord Liu.

But Lord Liu's maid, Ya'er, said

Lingxiao Red has gone missing after that.

Lord Liu's wife keeps thinking of buying another one.

Oh no, something may be up at Jinxiu Textile.

You all stay here.

I'm going to Jinxiu Textile.

Brother Zhan.

Why are you here so late?

Ms Li, why are you here?

I hear the sound of a loom.

So, I came to take a look.

Loom?

I have found the fragment of the Penglai Drawing.

As long as we help Silkworm Phantom on her revenge,

we can get it.

Revenge?

They deserve it.

A demon

falls in love with a human.

It's never going to end well.

There was Tai Ao

and there is Silkworm Phantom now.

Whether they live or die,

they will be in exceptional pain.

Because human race won't be tolerant towards them,

so as the Demon Clan.

You're right.

But if Silkworm Phantom does not take revenge,

I'm afraid she won't get out of her cocoon

and hand that fragment to us.

If so, how are we going to get

the fragment of Penglai Drawing made from a silkworm cocoon?

Since you say so,

she has promised

to give you the cocoon she has cultivated

all her life?

Yes.

I have finally found you,

Silkworm Phantom.

I was ordered by the elder of the Ninth Hell

to get your cocoon.

Quickly show yourself.

You're demon.

Why was your magic power so weak

and was hazed to death by mortals?

Back then, after using all my cultivation

to weave Lingxiao Red,

I had become no different from a mortal.

As a result, I was forced to die by Li Song Bai.

After my death,

Lingxiao Red lost the power of the Demon Clan

and turned into Red Silk.

I can only possess the silk

and hope that when Lingxiao Red reappears on earth,

it will cohere

and kill Li Song Bai

to avenge my husband's death.

Red Silk is not a mortal can weave.

So, you used your remaining magic power

to possess Li Qiong Xiang

so that she's able to weave Lingxiao Red.

But unfortunately,

you are just a wisp of soul.

You don't have enough magic power.

There's still a long way for you to go

to finish weaving Lingxiao Red.

So what?

I have been waiting for 15 years.

I will never give up my revenge.

A spring silkworm won't spit out its silk until it dies.

You are obsessed with the mortal world

and are reluctant to turn into a chrysalis.

Thus, I can't get your cocoon.

In this way,

I can't complete the task

given to me by the elder.

Why don't we cooperate?

I lend you the power of the Demon Clan

to help Li Qiong Xiang finish weaving Lingxiao Red.

As long as Lingxiao Red reappears,

by that time,

you can regroup your power

to take revenge.

But after it's done,

you must give me your cocoon.

I need it.

Young Lady!

Young Lady!

You killed her?

I didn't.

It's Li Qiong Xiang who killed her.

I planted Heart Devouring Curse on the Silkworm Phantom.

She can't betray the Ninth Hell.

All right.

As long as you can get the cocoon,

I can give you part of the antidote to the Heart Devouring Curse

to relieve your pain.

Thank you, Elder.

If you dare to betray the Ninth Hell,

I promise

to make your life

worse than death.

I asked you to look for the son of the former king.

Have you found him?

Not yet.

Don't play tricks on me.

Watch out for your Heart Devouring Curse.

If he's found,

bring him to me immediately.

Yes.

Zhan Yan is missing?

What happened?

Lord Zhan went to Jinxiu Textile last night.

He hasn't been back since then.

Li Qiong Xiang.

Where is Zhan Yan?

I heard the sound of a loom

and went to take a look.

I did see Brother Zhan.

But before I had a chance to say anything,

he suddenly said there was danger.

He told me to get out of there and pushed me out the door.

Then, I fainted.

What did Zhan Yan say to you

before he went to Jinxiu Textile?

Tell me all about it,

don't leave out even a single word.

Before Lord Zhan left last night,

he said there might be an accident at Jinxiu Textile.

He wanted to take a look over there.

Zhan Yan must be in danger.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have left Ju Que.

Duanmu.

We've made a thorough search,

but still can't find Yan Yan.

Why is Ju Que here?

As you said,

Zhan Yan investigated a case happened 15 years ago

and even asked about Lingxiao Red's whereabouts.

Yes.

It's a pity that the looms at Jinxiu Textile

are not old enough.

Otherwise, if there are demons possess them,

I won't have to weave myself.

The Demon Clan?

Possess them?

I get it.

The demon possesses the magical tool.

Zhan Yan investigated the case happened 15 years ago

because he wanted to know

if Zheng Qiao'er's father was a human or a demon,

and if he had six fingers.

The coroner examined that

her father's a human.

Since she's semi-demon,

that means her mother's a demon.

If her father didn't have six fingers,

her six fingers are inherited from her mother.

If Zheng Qiao'er isn't the killer,

there will only be one killer.

Liu Xi Mei, who has been dead for 15 years.

She is the Silkworm Phantom.

Silkworm?

You mean,

Lingxiao Red was woven by a silkworm?

I guess,

Liu Xi Mei used all her magic power

and her birthright, Red Silk, to weave Lingxiao Red.

It is a pity that her magic power was not enough.

and got persecuted by Li Song Bai.

Lingxiao Red was sold to Lord Liu after that.

After Liu Xi Mei's death,

Lingxiao Red's theurgy dispersed

and turned into Red Silk again.

Then, she possessed Red Silk

to manipulate silkworms to return to Jinxiu Textile for revenge.

That's why Lingxiao Red of the Liu family has gone missing.

As long as Lingxiao Red is made again,

Liu Xi Mei will have the power to kill.

If so,

she should have been possessed

that Lingxiao Red.

Quick, find that Lingxiao Red.

It's Zhan Yan!

Zhan Yan.

Yan Yan!

Don't tear it!

This cloth is attached to the flesh.

If you tear it off, his skin will rot.

So, what should we do?

Go to the ice cellar and cut a piece of ice for me.

Cut ice?

Why are you back again?

Aren't you looking for me?

It turns out that

you have been living in the mortal world.

She lied to me that

she didn't find you.

You set up Duanmu several times

and harmed Qifeng.

What's the reason?

Look,

the Demon Clam of the Ninth Hell

is living in misery now.

I just want to find a way

to remove the seal.

What's wrong with that?

You're from the Demon Clan,

the son of Dragon King.

Are you really willing to see

the Demon Clan

living in deep water?

You

are so heartless.

I no longer have anything to do with the Demon Clan.

I will not interfere with anything you do.

But if it involves Duanmu Cui,

I will never let you go.

You won't help me?

Yes.

I'm here to warn you.

Don't reach over the line.

Otherwise,

I'll chop off those claws of the chameleon.

Have you thought it through?

Now, the admiration of those mortals for you

is just a passing cloud.

Only the Demon Clan of the Ninth Hell

will truly accept you.

If one day,

your identity as a dragon is revealed,

I can guarantee that

these mortals will turn against you,

even Duanmu Cui won't side with you.

Only me.

Only I

can give you everything you want.

You can't even escape from the Ninth Hell.

How could you give me everything?

What a joke.

You

are such a fool!

Sub by iQiyi & Ripped by skysoultan ♔ Follow @skysoultan on Instagram ♔

You want to run away?

Can you?

What are you looking at? After her!

Bring Zheng Qiao'er here.

Take Yan Yan away. Hurry!

Duanmu Cui,

why are you so hard-pressed?

I didn't mean to harm them.

It's all Li Song Bai's fault.

Baby silkworm.

Eat more

and grow faster.

I escaped from the Ninth Hell

and was seriously injured.

Thanks to his care and feeding,

I was able to heal.

This man looks quite honest.

I shall stay by his side

to teach him silkworm breeding and weaving.

Mister.

You...

Are you hiring here?

Yes.

Husband and wife pay respect to each other.

Boss.

May you have a prosperous year.

Can you...

Brother?

Brother.

How did you get to be like this?

I failed in business

and owe a lot of money to others.

Brother.

Just stay.

Don't worry.

I will never starve you

if I have food to eat.

Xixiu Textile

Let me tell you one more thing.

Your husband was indeed killed by those bandits.

That's true, but those bandits

are paid by me.

Are you still human?

Mother!

Mother!

Is that you, Mother?

Qiao'er.

Mother.

Mother.

Qiao'er.

I'm sorry for you.

I couldn't raise you.

I'm unfilial.

I haven't come to pay my respects to you

for so many years.

How have you been these years?

Liu Xi Mei.

Qifeng Prefecture

will reopen the case against you and your husband,

Zheng Wan Li

to give you a clean slate.

Besides,

Ms Li has also decided

to give all the proceeds of Jinxiu Textile

to Ms Qiao'er.

You don't have to worry about

Qiao'er's future life.

That evil man has a sensible daughter.

I was going to kill her.

Unfortunately, Zhan Yan stopped me.

He killed my husband

and harmed my whole family.

But I'm different from him.

Let's let the grudge of the previous generation

end on us.

Mother.

Mother!

Mother.

You lived with hatred for 15 years.

Now that the grievances have been resolved,

you don't have to worry about me anymore.

I'm now living a good life.

Nanny has found a good match for me.

Everything is well.

I will live well in the future.

Don't worry.

You don't have to feel too bad.

Although your mother was a demon

who had resentment in her heart,

she had always been kind.

Now,

she is relieved.

There are good and bad ones in both human race and the Demon Clan.

I believe that my mother

was determined to get results

other than a life for a life.

What are your plans after this?

Go back and live well

so that my mother's thoughts on me over the years won't be in vain.

Zhao Wu.

Why are you still carrying him?

Heavy, right? Just put him on the ground.

Wake up, stop pretending.

See no evil, hear no evil.

Duanmu, what's wrong with you?

Are you injured?

Get up quickly, everyone is watching us.

Yan Yan.

You're awake.

You're fine.

That's great. Thanks to Sect Leader Duanmu,

Liu Xi Mei's case has been closed.

She saved you too.

You haven't eaten well

during the investigation, have you?

To thank you for solving this case

and saving me,

I'll show you

my brilliant cooking skills.

What, Yan Yan?

You said,

you want to cook for Sect Leader Duanmu?

You want to cook yourself?

Is there any problem?

Zhan Yan,

you can't defeat me in fighting

and arguing,

so you want to poison me with food?

You really know how to cook everything?

Osmanthus sweetened lotus root from Zui Xiang Pavilion,

almond tofu from Jixiang Court,

the Ruyi pastry from Zhang Ji

and the layered cake from Zheng Fu Ji.

-These... -You know how to make them?

I can't make any of these.

Why are you mentioning them then?

Although I don't know how to make them,

I'm willing to learn.

I'll reluctantly

taste it then.

As the ancients said,

-only villains and women... -And women...

What are you talking?

Cannot be offended.

Stand there, you two!

Cocoon.

I finally get it.

It's late.

Why haven't you gone to your room to rest?

What can I do for you?

You know it's late too.

You're back so late.

Where have you been?

I...

I am worried about the safety of the sect leader.

So, I went to ask around for news.

What do you have in your hand?

What is this?

There's a travelling merchant came from Hangzhou recently.

He delivered some fine silk fabrics.

I kept a few sample fabrics

and planned to learn making handkerchiefs

for everyone.

What pattern do you like?

Embroidered butterfly or peony?

I'm good.

Is that really all?

Yes.

Even though you're demon,

you're not subordinate.

Here isn't the Ninth Hell.

No grading system here.

You don't have to go to great lengths to please everyone.

You know that the Demon Clan of the Ninth Hell is different from human race.

Have you been to the Ninth Hell?

You should rest well.

High Immortal.

The Demon Clan was sealed for a thousand years.

They're always looking forward to being free.

Just take care of yourself.

With you alone,

you can't save the whole Demon Clan.

At least he cares about me.

I hope

you won't hate me to the core in the future.

If I had not been in the Ninth Hell,

if I could make a choice,

how nice it would be.

If you dare to betray the Ninth Hell,

I promise to make your life worse than death.

We want to see Lord Zhan!

We want to see Lord Zhan!

Lord Zhan!

Lord Zhan! Step aside!

No uninvited persons allowed.

Sir,

I'm here to see Lord Zhan.

Think about it.

Something so big happened to the Li family.

Now, there's no one to officiate the marriage.

That means Lord Zhan's marriage

has been ruined.

I'm here

to introduce a good marriage

to Lord Zhan.

Really?

Can you introduce me

to a gentle and virtuous woman as well?

Of course.

How can you believe the words of a matchmaker?

Why can't you believe the words of a matchmaker?

Why can't you believe?

Get out.

I don't want.

-Get out. -Get out.

I don't want.

Get out.

You don't want to get married?

Open the door!

Let us in!

Before Lord Zhan's marriage gets ruined,

the threshold of Qifeng Prefecture is trampled.

Long.

When do you think

I'll be as popular as Lord Zhan?

If there are so many girls

rushing to marry me...

You can,

as long as you have the ability

to solve cases like Lord Zhan does.

Solve cases?

That's impossible.

Stop daydreaming then.

Lord Zhan.

Lord Zhan.

Are you going on patrol?

Let me go with you.

No, I'm going to buy food ingredients.

-Buy food ingredients? -Buy food ingredients?

Why is the door closed?

What's happening outside the door?

Since the case of Jinxiu Textile

is solved,

everyone guesses that you and Ms Li will not get together.

So, the matchmakers come again.

I get it. You two, please stay here then.

Do you feel that Lord Zhan looks different today?

What's different?

He's going to buy food ingredients to cook for us.

He just said that he's going to buy food ingredients.

He didn't say he will cook.

Buying food ingredients is for cooking.

But it's not for you.

Why is there so quiet outside?

Let's go and take a look.

Let's wait for a while more.

They will come out in a minute.

I'm coming!

I'm coming... Let me in.

Let's go.

Again?

Sister Zhang Long, Brother Zhao Wu, it's me.

Don't squeeze.

Qifeng Prefecture

No one is allowed to enter.

Lord Zhan.

You can't enter.

Don't squeeze.

Don't squeeze.

Back off.

Excuse me.

What are you doing here?

Who are you?

You're also here to propose a marriage to Lord Zhan, right?

Queue behind.

Go.

Queue behind.

Lord Zhan!

Lord Zhan!

What are you doing?

Ms Li can stay here for a few more days.

I'm sorry to hear about

your father's death.

But sticking to the marriage contract

is my credit.

You don't need to worry too much.

You can get married after observing mourning for three years

or hold the wedding within 100 days.

Zhan Yan will definitely get married as promised.

Lord Jiang,

I have decided to withdraw from the marriage.

I hope you will help me.

I understand your feelings.

But our two families

have accepted the marriage proposal.

That means you two are linked together by the Book of Marriage.

My wife and I have no children for half of our lives.

We treat you and Zhan Yan like our own children.

From now on,

Qifeng Prefecture will be your home.

Thank you for your kindness.

I am so grateful.

But

I hope you will give me an answer

after you tell my thoughts

to Brother Zhan.

You little mortal official,

have you seen the Book of Marriage?

How do you know that they're linked together by the Book of Marriage

after marriage proposal is accepted?

Now is the right time to observe mourning.

She's not happy about it,

but you urged her to get married.

I believe Zhan Yan and I are thinking the...

Excuse me.

Why don't you go rest first?

Okay, I'll go back and rest.

Please stay and eat with us.

Zhan Yan hasn't say a thing

and you simply try to matchmake them.

Since you like to be a matchmaker,

why don't you take over the God of Matchmaking's job?

What are you snickering about?

Who are you trying to tease again?

I don't tease people.

You went to buy food ingredients?

What did you buy?

Lord Zhan really loves to save trouble.

Two at a time.

What a happy man.

Brother Zhan.

I just said goodbye to Lord Jiang.

So, I won't join you for a meal.

Wait a minute.

Since Lord Jiang asked you to stay for a meal,

you should just stay.

Ms Li.

This way, please.

You should visit me more often.

Just come to me

if you need anything.

You can also share your happiness

and troubles

with me.

Come, Qiong Xiang. Sit here.

Have a seat.

There are so many dishes.

The Marquis is free from works today.

Why are you still here?

Zhao Wu said,

you wanted to cook after buying food ingredients.

So, I settled everything in advance.

How could I not be there

for such a rare moment?

No wonder you're so good.

It turns out that you have a date with a beauty.

The six fingers' case is successfully solved.

Thanks to everyone's hard work in the investigation.

All of us here today are family members.

Don't be shy.

Help yourself, come on.

Ms Duanmu

and Qiong Xiang.

This is your first visit to our house.

Don't be restrained.

Godfather, Godmother.

Please enjoy it.

Yan'er,

take some food for Ms Li.

Ms Li is reserved.

She's shy to take the food by herself.

I can do it myself.

Thank you, Brother Zhan.

Thank you for your hard work, Sect Leader Duanmu.

I can't accept it.

-I can't accept it. -It's fine.

Eat one more sweetened lotus root.

Thank you.

You don't usually move around much.

Eating sweet is not good for health.

Don't listen to Zhan Yan.

Sedentary people should have more nutrition.

Have a fried dumpling.

Eat more.

I don't have a sweet tooth.

Yan Yan, you shall eat more.

Thank you for your hard work.

Today's dishes

may not be to your liking.

I just realise it.

Why are all the dishes you cooked sweet?

This beef

doesn't look right.

It's made of tofu.

Vegetarian beef with honey sauce.

It's made of tofu?

How about this fish?

It's made of eggplant.

Sweet and sour vegetarian fish.

Eggpl...

Why are all the dishes vegetarian?

Vegetarian food is good.

It's good for health.

They're all sweet vegetarian food.

These are all to Sect Leader Duanmu's liking, right?

Even food can't stop you from talking.

Since all of these dishes

are my favourite,

I won't find fault with you for now.
