Stand there!

My wife!

My wife!

-My wife! -Madam!

My wife!

What happened?

How did it happen?

I'm itchy!

I'm itchy!

[Practise Medicine to Help Public]

Mister Wengu.

What happened to my wife?

She was poisoned.

The antidote I made

can slow the toxin down.

She's lucky to survive

as you sent her here in time.

Poisoned?

Who would poison my wife?

Lord Zhan!

You must bring us to justice!

-Where did you and -Where did you and

-your wife go these days... -your wife go these days...

Divine Doctor!

My wife is giving birth soon.

Divine Doctor!

-Have a look. -These days,

I kept her company every day

at home.

She said she wanted to watch a show by the water yesterday.

Then we met a peddler

who insisted to give us some candied fruits.

[Those who were wounded]

[received candied fruits as well.]

Why would a peddler give out

candied fruit for free instead of selling them?

-This peddler sounds fishy! -This peddler sounds fishy!

There are plenty

of peddlers on the road.

We'll investigate all of them.

You're the expert.

It's rare for Sect Leader Duanmu

to praise a little constable like me.

You deserve it if you do a good job.

If you don't,

you're nothing to me.

I'm leaving, Wengu.

Have a taste, Madam.

My candied fruits

are sour and delicious.

It's suitable for pregnant women.

Have a taste.

I won't charge you if it's not sour.

What a strange business you're doing!

You sell sour candies

but not sweet ones.

Sour candies are most appetizing.

[You hid well.]

[But you left some aura behind.]

Zhan Yan!

Where's the peddler?

He left.

But I bought many.

I can share it to you if you want some.

He escaped so quickly.

Be careful of poison!

Poison?

But we

ate a few of these just now.

It's not poisonous,

but it's bound with spells.

He's trying to attract something.

Attract what?

Don't fear.

Hide for a few days at home.

-Thank you! -Thank you!

The man has run away.

I say, can't you change

your clothes to keep

a low profile?

You red uniform

is obviously announcing that

the staff of Qifeng Prefecture is at work.

Fine.

I'll wear something else next time.

Zhan Yan.

I have a great idea.

Why don't I pretend to be pregnant

and have a stroll on the street?

I'll lure them out

and see which Demon Clan is doing this.

It's too dangerous.

They would be in danger

if they see me.

However, nearly every peddlers here knows who you are

as you do your rounds here

every day.

You must disguise yourself.

What can I pretend to be?

You're so young and handsome.

You'll act as my husband.

[Goddess Temple]

I want to go home.

I want to go home.

I want to go home. I want to go home.

Sister. I want to go home.

Do you know your way home?

It's getting dark.

Your mother will be worried.

Hurry home.

Go.

My dear!

He's just a child.

Why did you harm him?

My dear.

This is all for our children.

You won't get to see our newborn children

if you refuse to drink blood.

So, you secretly took the blood

and lied to me that they are animal blood?

Man is the soul of the universe.

It's harsh enough for us to cultivate.

We'll be punished

by the Heavens if you choose to kill people,

my dear!

My dear,

I'm not scared

for our children.

Why can human be the soul of the universe

while the Demon Clan

has to be sealed in the Ninth Hell?

We can't die nor become immortal.

If that's so,

why should we even cultivate?

My dear.

Think of it as a merit for our children.

My dear.

Please, my dear.

My dear!

Fine.

I'll do as you say.

High Immortal.

What are you doing?

I want to help Madam Wang with her blanket.

Concentrate on preparing the medicine.

The others will take care of her.

High Immortal.

Do you remember the past?

As the High Immortal,

I have no past.

Besides, you have no reason

to concern about my past.

I wonder how the sect leader is doing.

I guess she would be fine

with Lord Zhan.

Duanmu doesn't need any outsider.

I'll stand by her side

to protect her.

Didn't you refuse to act as my husband?

You're double-minded, Lord Zhan.

I'm doing this for the people of Qifeng City.

Have a look, please!

These are high quality dolls!

My dear.

Is it cute?

We should mind our business first no matter how cute it is.

We're not here for a walk.

My tummy hurts...

My tummy hurts...

Look at your wife.

She likes the doll so much.

Buy one for her.

I'll charge you cheaper.

My dear.

Can you buy one?

Alright!

Thank you so much!

I know you're the best.

My dear.

You must be tired.

Let us have some rest.

My dear.

You would massage my legs

whenever I'm tired of walking.

Massage your legs?

That's right.

Don't you know that

others would do so too?

I didn't know before.

I understand that you don't know.

I can teach you now.

Hurry up.

We would get exposed if you don't.

Hurry!

My dear.

You're so sweet.

Of course I am.

Do you know?

It's almost getting dark.

There's a stage opposite the lake

which plays "Five Sons Passing the Imperial Examination" every day.

It's a good show

which means more children begets more blessings.

You should bring your wife there

if you're interested.

How did things go?

I've prepared to lure Duanmu Cui

into the trap.

But Duanmu Cui is more powerful than me.

Elder, please grant me a magical artefact against her.

This is the Deity Trapping Formation invented by the Demon King.

The formation can trap the deities up.

You can do whatever you want with them

when they lose their powers.

Why didn't you learn this skill from serving

the Demon King for all these years?

You've wasted your time badly.

Thank you for the guidance.

I won't fail you

in this mission.

Wait.

That Wengu...

He's just

a newly High Immortal.

He's under Duanmu Cui's command

with weak powers.

If the formation could trap Duanmu Cui,

it could definitely trap him.

The assassination of Duanmu Cui

must succeed.

We must retrieve

the fragments of the Penglai Drawing.

Otherwise,

it would be difficult to find the others.

Your wish is my command.

Remember.

You have no time to lose.

The pain of the Heart Devouring Curse

can dry you up immediately.

If you want to have a taste of it again,

feel free to waste your time.

I will kill Duanmu Cui

and fulfil my duty at once!

[Practise Medicine to Help Public]

Wait.

Your primordial spirit hasn't recovered.

You won't last in an attack.

I'm generous.

Here's a Butterfly Messenger.

Tap your shoulder to summon it

if you're in danger.

I'll come to your aid immediately.

It'll save your life.

Thank you.

It's really delicate.

You have to treat it well.

Give it food three times a day and greet it too.

Don't mistreat it.

Wait.

If you give it to me,

what can you do if you're in danger?

My name can protect me.

Why do I need it?

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Are you afraid

of mosquitoes?

Afraid?

I have nothing to be afraid of.

I merely

dislike mosquitoes.

Gnats live by the water.

Stay close.

Why are you forcing me?

You killed people.

I won't spare you

from what you did.

Speaking of threatening lives,

did you remember

that we're also living beings

when you mortals tried to massacre us?

Unreasonable!

Yes.

I'm a fool

to try and reason with the immortals.

When the Demon Clan had to suffer within the Ninth Hell,

did the ungrateful and heartless immortals

ever think about our plights?

[Ninth Hell?]

And I

merely want my children

to be born safely.

Instead, you want to wipe us out!

He's trying to delay us.

Be cautious!

Duanmu.

You are...

Wengu, from the Xihualiu.

Duanmu.

Wake up, Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Mother...

No!

Don't worry.

Zhan Yan is fine.

He has returned to the Qifeng Prefecture.

Wengu.

Was I bitten by a mosquito?

Why do I have a headache

and feel itchy?

Duanmu.

You're not bitten.

Don't be afraid.

I just...

I hate mosquitoes.

Trust me, Duanmu.

You're fine now.

Look.

I prepared this sachet for you.

I'm here for you.

I'll protect you.

Hong Luan!

Where is Hong Luan?

She saved me from the male gnat.

Hong Luan was bitten.

High Immortal!

What's wrong with her?

It must be the gnat poison

that made her sluggish.

How dare he harm her?

I won't spare him lightly.

The gnat poison causes illusion.

It can bewitch one's mind.

I'm afraid

there'll be complications.

There's another issue.

Officer Wang's wife

was recuperating here,

but she disappeared out of a sudden.

It must be the gnats.

Wengu.

What did I forget?

I would see some images

in my head when I come across with a mosquito.

Images?

What images?

There were countless of mosquitoes on me.

And a coffin too.

Don't think about it

if you can't remember.

My sachet

can hold them off.

I never thought that a little gnat

can be so powerful.

Why did he kidnap

all these people?

Regardless,

you're still injured.

I forbid you to leave here.

You might be a High Immortal,

but you're using

a mortal body here.

You have to be careful

from getting injured.

Don't worry.

I feel dizzy whenever I'm walking.

I can't leave even if I want.

High Immortal.

Don't leave me.

I do not want to go back.

I do not want to go back to the Ninth Hell.

I do not want to go back to the Ninth Hell.

-Please! -Hong Luan.

Don't...

Wengu.

Take care of her.

She's finally free from all hardships.

Don't send her back.

Wengu.

What happened after the Demon Clan

was sealed in the Ninth Hell?

They returned to their rightful place after the gods were granted with divine status.

The immortals at Penglai

and the Demon Clan in the Ninth Hell.

They're all in their proper place.

Are they really in their proper place?

The Heavens will decide their fates.

We shouldn't worry for them.

Rest well.

Don't go anywhere.

My children.

You will all be born soon in a while.

How I wish to see all of you sooner.

My dear.

You're injured!

I'm sorry.

I went to get blood for you at your back again.

But now,

the immortals found out about me.

I'm not afraid to die.

I'm afraid that

I won't be able to get blood

for our children.

Stop it, my dear!

It's all my fault.

My wife.

The children and I caused you trouble.

Lord Envoy.

I obviously saw Wang...

Shut up.

Now is not the time.

Please, Lord Envoy.

Save my wife and children.

Now that you're exposed,

you shouldn't enter the town at will.

I'll show you another path.

If you can obtain

an object from Duanmu Cui,

your children will be fine.

No way!

She's an immortal.

My dear.

I can't watch you die.

Lord Envoy.

As long as they're protected,

I'm willing to die.

You're injured.

The Deity Trapping Formation can help.

This formation is so powerful

that it can restrain an immortal's power.

An immortal would gradually

become weak inside the Deity Trapping Formation.

Besides, the formation

would trigger the most painful memory of the target

and enlarge its terror.

You would wait until her weakness show up.

Then,

Duanmu Cui would follow your bidding.

This is a bait for you.

No way.

She's pregnant.

My dear.

If I don't kill her,

our children will die.

Don't worry.

I'll do it myself.

None of you will suffer

from the retribution.

For our children,

I would take the risk

to go against the Heavens.

Please, Sect Leader Duanmu.

Remember to knock

when you enter someone's room.

But I didn't enter from a door.

Don't misunderstand me.

I'm not here for you.

I was just...

Madam Wang has disappeared.

I want you to go with me to save her.

Would you follow me?

We'll leave right away.

Yan Yan!

Yan Yan! Are you awake?

I need to speak with you.

Yan Yan!

Why are you hiding?

Why are you so bold?

It's important to take care

of your reputation.

I know.

In the mortal realm,

you would have to marry me

if I was discovered

in your room.

Fine.

I must hide if you refuse

to marry me.

Yan Yan!

Open up! We need to talk.

Yan Yan.

I didn't sleep last night

and found a new clue for the case.

Let's talk inside.

Yan Yan!

[Wengu Medical Hall]

Reeds?

There's only one reed marsh

in the city at the east.

How did it appear here?

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Please move your feet.

What did you find?

I can sense

the gnats from the reed.

This footprint is not Madam Wang's.

And it has the reed

which can't be found here on it.

I remember you said that

gnats live in water.

Where is this from?

The reed marsh at the east.

What are we waiting for?

Duanmu?

Are you awake?

I'm coming in.

Duanmu.

What should I do with you?

My star-lord?

Where is Duanmu?

High Immortal Duanmu

left to capture the gnats.

What did you say?

My Star Lord.

What's wrong?

Duanmu was buried alive

with her mother when she was little.

Mosquitoes were all over her when she was unearthed.

Little mosquitoes are her greatest fear.

How dare you let her capture it alone?

Why are you in a daze?

Look for her now!

Oh no!

This is...

This is the male gnat's illusion.

Can you undo it?

I would be a lousy High Immortal

if I can't manage

a simple illusion.

It's the male gnat's lair.

Let's have a look.

Wait.

I'll go first.

Aren't you afraid?

Even if you're High Immortal

and I'm mortal,

I have to walk at the front.

How can a man

stand behind a woman?

Fine.

I'll give you

a chance to prove yourself.

However, it would be disappointing for them

if we don't

fall into their trap.

Duanmu!

Duanmu!

A little maze

won't be able to trap me!

Duanmu!

Duanmu!

Duanmu!

Tell me where Duanmu is!

Duanmu!

Where are you, Duanmu?

Duanmu!

I'm sorry.

Paper crane.

She's not Duanmu.

I can't feel her presence here.

She's not here.

Candied figurine!

Candied figurine!

Different kinds of them!

Take one!

Duanmu Cui is at the reed marsh.

Why do I feel

uncomfortable?

[Why can't I feel Duanmu's presence?]

Hong Luan is awake.

She's awake?

[Hong Luan fought the gnat.]

[Perhaps she would know how to find Duanmu.]

Stay here.

Let me know if something happens.

Male gnat!

You finally showed up in front of me.

My dear!

My dear.

For the sake of our children,

stop.

So, you're both having children.

You must accumulate merits

for your future children instead.

Why did you attack the townspeople?

My dear.

She's the High Immortal.

Let's think of another way.

My dear!

We've walked through

so much hardships.

This is the only step

for us to protect our children.

Besides,

so what if she's High Immortal?

She's afraid of the gnats.

And she's trapped in her most fearful place.

This is our best chance!

Who told you that?

It's just a mere mosquito.

Do you think I would be afraid of you?

Give it a try then.

Why am I so unlucky today?

Even the Samadhi Fire is going against me.

No way.

What formation is this?

I never expect such an ignorant

question from you, High Immortal Duanmu.

It's the Deity Trapping Formation from the Demon Clan given by the envoy.

It can't kill you,

but it can deplete your powers.

So what if you're the High Immortal?

You're still trapped by me!

[Deity Trapping Formation?]

[Oh no!]

[My powers are trapped.]

[I must think of a way to escape.]

Duanmu Cui.

I need just one thing from you.

Give it to me!

I don't care what you want.

But with you only?

Dream on!

Duanmu! Are you alright?

I'm fine.

You're just a mortal.

Why do you go against us?

How can I ignore

when you kill the townspeople?

If that's so,

your life won't be in vain if you die here today.

My dear!

Don't harm the innocent

They're here to kill us.

How innocent are they?

Zhan Yan!

Board the boat!

My dear!

Are you alright?

I'm fine.

Our children kicked me.

My dear.

I'll take you back for some rest.

Don't bother about us.

[Duanmu Cui.]

[I'll spare you for now.]

[You won't be able to escape the maze.]

[I hugged him.]

She's doomed.

She's totally haywired.

High Immortal Wengu!

You're back.

Have a look at Hong Luan.

I'm afraid the poison is still there.

She had been smiling for two hours!

Dry up the herbs first.

High Immortal.

You're back.

Why are you looking at me like that?

It's noon.

I'll cook right away.

Hong Luan.

Did I embarrass myself just now?

Are you awake now?

I need to ask you.

As your fellow Demon Clan escapee,

do you know where is the nest of the gnats?

I don't know.

Did something happen to High Immortal Duanmu?

I'll go with you.

I fought the gnats before.

I'm familiar with them.

Fine.

Follow me.

We must find Duanmu immediately.

Why did we run?

The male gnat was taunting us.

We shouldn't confront him.

Besides, there's a saying in the mortal realm

that said the best way is to go away.

It was my strategy.

We're not running away.

Yes.

Zhan Yan.

You have good memory and sense of direction.

Do you know where we are?

We've been here

for three times now.

I think we're in a maze.

However...

However?

You're right, Sect Leader Duanmu.

There would be a flaw in every formation.

It's likewise for a maze.

So, you do remember what I said.

Tell me.

If waterways are complicated,

why don't we go other ways

besides the waterway?

Do you mean

to cross the reed marsh?

You're good, little constable.

Why didn't I think of it before?

Let's go.

♫ Make a wish ♫

♫ I'll travel the world with you ♫

♫ We'll admire the sceneries ♫

♫ For years up till eternity ♫

♫ We'll bend our affections ♫

♫ And tie it between our fingers ♫

♫ We'll spend our time together ♫

♫ For days and nights in years away ♫

This is...

This must be

the female gnat's lair for her children.

I never thought that the evil Demon Clan

would do so much for their children.

Why did my mother...

What about your mother?

Nothing.

Maternal love is not an excuse.

The female gnat harmed people for her children.

Hence,

I won't spare her.

No!

What do you think, Lord Zhan?

We would alert them if we destroy it.

Didn't you wish to capture the gnats?

They won't realize that we would

reach here from the waterway.

Instead of attacking them,

why don't we let them...

Come to us?

Then we shall wait for them here.

Duanmu's presence

disappeared here.

[Deity Trapping Formation?]

[They're stopping me from]

[looking for Duanmu Cui.]

[But this formation had ceased]

[to exist as the Demon King died.]

[Who had reclaimed it and used it]

[to stop me?]

Where is Duanmu Cui?

I don't know!

You won't tell me?

Fine.

Then die!

Take me as your hostage!

If you kill me,

I'll take her with me!
