No Boundary

Episode 24

Zhan Yan,

you are very smart.

You use Ju Que's power.

But Zhan Yan,

you are facing Penglai's God of Justice.

How long can you last?

Brother!

Duanmu,

step aside.

I will handle

my own affairs.

How?

Will you recklessly sacrifice your life

like when Gu Chang

died back then?

Like what happened back then,

will you seal my memory again?

Or like in Wenshui again,

kill me with the God Slaying Sword?

Duanmu.

You know

that wasn't my intention.

Let me resolve

my love knot myself.

He charged into Penglai

and broke the chains

because of me.

I won't let him get hurt again.

Duanmu,

don't make any more mistakes.

I won't cower when faced

with eternal damnation.

Leave.

Leave!

Thank you, Brother.

Zhan Yan,

let's go.

Star Lord,

are you letting them go like that?

Duanmu was wrong,

but she has paid her dues.

What else can I do?

What about the love lock on High Immortal Duanmu?

It has been broken.

She has regained her memory.

No point

locking her up here again.

What should we do?

She remembers Gu Chang now.

Between Gu Chang and Zhan Yan,

she must make a choice.

Your Majesty,

you want to spread the demon poison?

Where it spreads, corpses will pile.

But they are all innocent people.

The world is cruel.

No one is innocent.

Filled with sins,

I will willingly

fall into purgatory.

By now,

I have no other option.

If that is so,

I'll stay with you.

Zhan Yan,

I'm not the Duanmu you know.

I know you.

You're always the Duanmu Cui I know.

Let me carry you.

No.

I can walk on my own.

Why do you follow me?

We're both going back

to Qifeng City.

I don't want

to return to Qifeng.

Wherever you go,

I'll go.

What should I do?

I must pay love debts to those

who died for me.

But how can I

let go of Zhan Yan?

Look, everyone!

What's in the sky?

What

is this?

It's raining.

Poisonous rain!

Everyone, run!

It is poisonous!

Run quickly!

Mother!

Divine Doctor Wengu,

save me.

Save me.

Let me help you

so that you won't suffer.

I ended the pain for you.

Would you thank me or hate me?

Brother, take this umbrella.

Mum said you will get sick if you get caught in the rain.

I'm okay.

Divine Doctor Wengu of Duanmu Residence,

please help everyone.

Duanmu Residence

is not the same.

Just leave.

There's no turning back.

If Your Majesty can't do it,

let me do it.

Your action was uncalled for.

I know what I'm doing.

I won't show mercy.

Send him to Qifeng City.

Get someone to clean this up

lest Penglai finds out

and undermines my plan.

Yang Jian,

you should put the interests of the whole first.

I sealed Duanmu's memory

and imprisoned her past in Guixu.

I almost killed her

with the God Slaying Sword.

But now,

what should happen has happened.

No one can stop it.

Yang Jian,

you and I know very well

that the Heavenly Maiden once predicted

that once the Abyss is opened,

heaven and earth will face calamities.

We have nothing against Duanmu Cui,

but this is not a trivial matter.

Quickly escort Duanmu Cui

back to Penglai.

Initially,

you were afraid of trouble and lazy, and tricked her

into descending to the mortal world.

Now,

you want me to bring her back.

Why should I?

Star Lord,

don't give in to your personal feelings.

The survival...

The survival of

the Three Realms isn't her responsibility.

I'll say it again.

Duanmu is not responsible for the Three Realms.

Yang Jian,

when will you agree

to bring her back?

Name your price.

I can clean up the mess

if we make a pact.

Pray tell us.

Lord He Shang will promise you anything.

You!

First.

First.

Don't interfere with Duanmu's future decisions.

Second.

Second.

Don't settle old scores with Zhan Yan and Duanmu.

Third.

Third.

Let me think first.

If she undermines Penglai,

what should we do?

You can disagree with my terms.

You!

Hey!

Agree.

We agree.

Agree.

Zhan Yan,

stop following me.

Leave me alone.

You're clueless

and might get lost.

Something's wrong.

It's Xuanping Village.

Stay behind me.

Why is this village

so quiet?

It's really weird.

Was it the Demon Clan?

There is no demon scent.

Are you okay?

I'm okay.

I just regained my spirit.

I'm not used to it.

It's late.

Why don't we stay overnight?

This is strange.

Let's check carefully.

It's strange here.

Before we know what's up,

let's stay together.

I'll take the floor.

You sleep in bed.

I take the floor.

No.

No!

Come back! Don't go!

Don't go!

Don't go!

Don't go!

-Duanmu. -No.

Don't go.

-Duanmu. -Don't.

It's okay.

It's okay, Duanmu.

Don't.

Don't go.

Come back quickly.

It's okay.

Duanmu, it's okay.

Gu Chang,

don't go.

Come back quickly.

Gu Chang.

You...

Gu Chang.

You still can't forget him.

Don't, don't.

Don't go.

It's okay, Duanmu.

Don't be afraid.

I am here.

It's okay.

Why are you here?

You had a nightmare

and won't let go of my hand.

You should have woken me up.

Zhan Yan,

let's

talk.

Are you hungry?

Kitchen is next door.

I'll make breakfast.

Zhan Yan knew something.

Maybe I should

tell him about Gu Chang.

Zhan Yan,

I want to talk.

Try it.

Does it taste right?

I found

fresh mushrooms here.

Xuanping's mushrooms

are famous.

Zhan Yan,

after I woke up,

I remember...

Do you know that

when I was cooking just now,

I remembered something.

When I learnt to cook,

I nearly torched the residence of Qifeng.

Keep it a secret

for me.

Zhan Yan,

the time I was in Qifeng City

was my happiest time.

Thank you

for giving me a wonderful memory.

Mushroom soup is ready.

I'll serve it up.

Else...

Zhan Yan,

listen to me.

I was previously

the leader of the Duanmu Sect.

I was betrothed to Gu Chang when I was a child.

When I was old enough,

Gu Chang became my fiance.

Back then,

we fought the Demon King's tyranny,

and joined the human race brigade

to fight the Demon Clan.

We

went through a lot.

Duanmu.

Listen to me first.

The Duanmu Sect

was the vanguard in battles.

Eventually,

all the men died in battles.

Only a female army survived.

At that time,

my godfather wanted me to marry Gu Chang,

so that the Duanmu Brigade could join the Gu Chang Brigade.

But

I refused.

I didn't want to be under someone.

I didn't want the brigade

to have another name.

I made things hard for Gu Chang,

and told him

to show his affection to me,

or I won't marry him.

He said he would conquer Chong City

as the dowry.

-But... -Duanmu.

Duanmu,

if it makes you sad,

don't say it.

No.

Zhan Yan,

let me finish.

All of them perished

in the battle of Chong City.

It was my fault.

If it weren't for the promise of a dowry,

they won't attack Chong City

at that time.

It was my fault.

Duanmu,

you cannot be blamed for the outcome

of the battle.

Don't blame yourself so much.

It was my fault.

It was my fault.

Duanmu,

I'll stay with you.

Whatever you want to do,

I'll stand by you.

Promise that

you'll let me stay with you.

Zhan Yan.

What should I do?

So many brothers and sisters.

When I close my eyes,

I see blood red.

I can't forget them.

I can't forget.

Zhan Yan.

Zhan Yan,

what's wrong?

Zhan Yan!

Zhan Yan!

Zhan Yan!

Duanmu.

Brother,

why did Zhan Yan faint?

He is okay for now.

Duanmu,

I want to talk to you.

Aura of death.

What exactly is going on?

Know this place?

Xuanping.

Ten miles east from here

is Chong City.

Chong City.

You led the soldiers

of Duanmu Brigade 1,000 years ago

to set up camp here.

You finally conquered Chong City.

The battle caused countless casualties.

The aura of death, formed by resentment,

was quelled by the God of Pestilence.

But recently,

the aura of death has spread.

The Three Realms will face disasters.

Quelled by the god, why is it

spreading among mortals?

The Demon Clan must have done it.

Demon Clan?

Wengu is now the king

of the Ninth Hell.

Wengu?

I guess Wengu released

the aura of death

to bring disasters to the mortal world.

Why did he do that?

Because of you.

He thought I killed you.

He gave up divinity

to succeed to the Demon Clan throne

and pit the clan against Penglai and the mortal world.

Zhan Yan fainted

because he was hurt by the aura of death at this place.

The aura of death

arose because of you.

Why because of me?

Before we ascended,

we were generals with blood on our hands

and we were brutal.

The aura of death

is the resentment of those who died unjustly.

It will ensnare

you and your loved ones.

You're a deity. It's okay.

What about Zhan Yan?

The ones I love will be ensnared.

Correct.

Do you remember

I sealed your memory back then?

Yes.

Brother, don't!

You called me brother.

I couldn't watch you do stupid things.

You recklessly opened the Abyss back then.

I thought that

when you remember,

no one can stop you.

But you willingly left Penglai with Zhan Yan.

I knew then

that you have only guilt for Gu Chang.

The one you really love

is Zhan Yan.

For my sin,

I am willing to pay what's due.

But I cannot let

Zhan Yan down.

Gu Chang!

Mi!

If you continue

to stay with Zhan Yan,

the aura will attack him.

You mean

the more I love him,

the more I hurt him.

Some love

is not meant to be.

If I leave Zhan Yan,

how long will he live?

Si Ming said

Zhan Yan follows a virtuous path his whole life,

and is fated to live a long good life.

But recently,

that has changed.

Duanmu,

don't you understand?

As the high immortal,

you shouldn't get involved with mortals.

Remain incorrigibly stubborn

and stay with him,

and he'll die horribly.

To see you in Penglai,

Zhan Yan used ancient divine soldier Ju Que's power.

To control Ju Que,

he has to pay with his lifespan.

If Ju Que breaks,

he will die.

Zhan Yan,

I am sorry.

I never told you

that meeting you

is a blessing in my life.

But we were not meant to be.

Starting from now,

I'll set you free.

Didn't the doctor say

Yan'er only has a cold

and not to worry?

Why was he unconscious for many days?

Don't worry, my wife.

I think Yan'er should be fine.

Let's see him.

Yan'er, you're up!

Yan'er,

it's chilly outside.

Don't go out.

Go to your room and rest.

Go quickly.

Shouldn't I be in Xuanping?

Why am I here at Qifeng?

Xuanping?

When we found you three days ago,

you fainted at the gate of Qifeng Prefecture.

Unconscious for three days.

Where's Duanmu?

Where is Duanmu?

Didn't you go to Penglai for Duanmu?

Is she back too?

Oh no!

Did she

go alone to open the Abyss?

Did you see Sect Leader Duanmu?

No.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Did you see Sect Leader Duanmu?

No.

No.

Did you see Duanmu?

No, no.

Did you see Duanmu?

No.

Duanmu!

Duanmu!

Duanmu, where are you?

Duanmu!

Did you see Duanmu?

Duanmu!

Duanmu sent me back.

She must be here.

If she really is going to open the Abyss,

it will be disastrous.

How can I make her stay?

If you see Sect Leader Duanmu,

tell her

I'm at the God of Matchmaking Temple.

Okay.

Lady boss,

if you see Sect Leader Duanmu,

tell her

I'm at the God of Matchmaking Temple.

Okay.

I'll tell her.

Boss,

if you see Sect Leader Duanmu,

tell her

I'm at the God of Matchmaking Temple.

Okay.

Zhan Yan,

why are you doing this?

Yan'er,

what are you doing?

Get up quickly.

What is this about?

Godfather, Godmother,

please prepare a betrothal letter and gift.

I want to marry

Xihualiu Sect's Duanmu Cui.

This is a good thing.

Get up quickly.

Thanks, Godmother.

Wait.

Have you

discussed this with Miss Duanmu?

With the consent of both of you,

I will profess my interest to Duanmu today.

Okay.

You've never

begged me in your life.

Dear,

get the ink.

Okay.

God of Matchmaking Temple

Here's the mortal world's lamp for you.

Hang on your door.

From now on, there will be a lamp for you,

illuminating your way home

and the night-time.

Thank you.

Everyone doubts himself sometimes,

but believe that

under the firmament,

there is a lamp in the mortal world

that is lit for you.

I know you are here.

Duanmu.

You said the deities have no home.

So, no one will lit

a lamp for you at night.

If I am willing

to give you a home,

and wait by the lamp every night,

will you stay with me?

You said a deity has no marriage line

and we cannot grow old together.

I don't believe it.

So, today,

at the God of Matchmaking Temple,

I, Zhan Yan, promise

that in this life,

I will only marry Duanmu.

There is only you

for the rest of my life.

Will you too?

Remain incorrigibly stubborn

and stay with him,

and he'll die horribly.

Duanmu.

Duanmu,

you are here.

I asked

my godfather

to write a betrothal letter.

Right now we...

No.

You've decided.

Don't regret it.

Brother.

How is the aura of death now?

Judging from the situation,

it is more serious now.

The Demon Clan has arrived at Qifeng City.

Wherever they went in the last few days,

the aura spread and exacted a heavy toll.

I'm sure

the next target

is Qifeng.

What?

Go.

Long,

isn't the Demon Clan wicked?

The city is so deserted.

There is no smoke at all.

Come.

The marquis ordered a lock-down

for the people's safety.

Kid.

Kid.

Kid.

Kid, wake up.

Kid.

Get the doctor.

Be careful.

Next...

After I collect

the life force of the Qifeng people,

I will rescue Duanmu.

This is demon poison.

Inform the marquis.

Go quickly.

Young man,

young man,

go to the Wengu Medical Hall

and get Doctor Wengu

before things get bad.

There may be more patients later.

He has elixirs.

The demon poison is severe.

Qifeng encountered this poison three years ago.

The casualties were high and people suffered.

Go quickly.

Right away.

Saving Lives and Healing the Sick

This is demon poison.

I heard that there is no cure.

Am I dying?

I want to go home.

Stop them.

Stop them.

They mustn't leave.

They mustn't spread the poison.

Help her up.

Careful.

Yes, my lord.

Be careful.

Take your time.

Don't panic.

Wait for your treatment.

You go home after we confirm you're

symptom-less or you will spread it.

The family suffers when one gets sick.

You don't want

to harm your family.

People without symptoms,

tell your neighbours

Qifeng Prefecture is tracing the origin.

Those who are sick

will go to the Wengu Medical Hall

to prevent cross infection.

Okay.

Yan Yan, you had

a cold a few days ago.

You're weak.

Why are you here?

How do you feel?

I'm fine.

I'm much better.

Godfather,

can we control the disease?

Not right now.

We don't know the origin.

I can only watch

the common people suffer.

Son.

Lord Zhan,

did the Demon Clan do this?

Definitely.

This

erupted after the demon

invaded Qifeng City.

I wish Sect Leader Duanmu is here.

Yan Yan,

I haven't seen her in the past few days.

Where did she go?

Yan Yan,

what's wrong?

Are you okay?

I'm okay.

I slept late yesterday.

From now on, don't bother

Penglai deities about Qifeng City.

Yan Yan.

The Penglai deities are unreliable.

Don't count on them.

From now on,

Qifeng City must rely on us.

I understand.

Dismiss.

The Penglai Drawing is destroyed.

We have no magic tool in this world

to seal demons and reverse chaos.

Now, the demon poison is out of control.

The people suffer in misery.

This isn't the result I want.

If I can travel back in time,

can everything start over again?

Duanmu,

I'll save you even if I have to

sacrifice more lives.

Your Majesty.

We have absorbed enough life force.

We can save her soon.

Good.

Very good.

Whatever happens,

I will always follow you.

I will do everything

so that you have no worry.

By now,

Penglai will not let me go.

Qifeng City is our last bargaining chip.

Take this city sealing formation.

Your Majesty.

If I die in Qifeng City,

will you grief over me?

You asked too many questions.

Hurry up.

Let us out.

I want to go out.

Wengu,

whatever you decide,

no matter what,

I will help you.
