No Boundary

Episode 22

Duanmu!

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Brother,

I will trade my life for his.

Can you spare Wengu's life now?

You will be fine.

You won't die.

After this,

we will all resume our places...

Duanmu.

No matter it's mortal, deity

or demon.

There will be no more entanglement.

Promise me.

Silly.

A deity won't die.

I am just going back to Penglai.

Zhan Yan,

don't ever lie to me again.

If you don't like me,

why are you carrying my doll with you?

I will never...

I will never lie to you again,

Duanmu.

Duanmu, don't go.

I like...

Don't say it.

If you say it,

you will make it harder for me to leave.

Carry it with you.

Carry it with you.

When you see it,

it will remind you of me.

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

God Slaying Sword

can kill demons

and gods.

Those who are killed by the God Slaying Sword

their spirit will disperse.

Wengu,

Duanmu has paid for your sin with her life.

Leave.

General of the human race, Duanmu Cui

has established great achievements in war.

She will ascend to Penglai and

be bestowed with status as High Immortal.

As long as I can see you in Penglai,

I am willing to do whatever it takes.

Duanmu,

wait for me.

This is the Penglai Drawing.

The Stairway to Penglai is now open!

I have dedicated my whole life in spiritual cultivation,

my moment to become a deity has come at last!

I am sorry.

The appearance of Staircase

is when the Penglai Drawing opens.

I have to go to Penglai.

It is a pity that the name of

the offspring of Demon King will never appear on Penglai Drawing.

This is my last chance.

From now on,

there will be no more Penglai Drawing.

No one will find out

who has been granted the divine status on Penglai Drawing

nor find out what I have done.

Only this way

can I stay by Duanmu's side forever.

Whether it's the High Immortal status

or the identity as a demon,

I, Wengu, never wanted those.

In my life,

all I ever wanted

was to be by her side.

I have never committed any grave sin.

I have been doing good deeds by working as a doctor.

Just to be the one

who is worthy of her.

But you all...

Deities like you who made no contribution

most of the time

became relentlessly aggressive at critical moment.

I will repay

what you've done to me.

I will come back to take her away.

She even gave you

her favourite doll.

Forget it.

I will save your life,

consider this an atonement to her after I stabbed her.

Xiao Tian,

send him home.

Yes.

Zhuque Street

I will buy it.

Duanmu, stop running around.

You could get lost.

Sorry.

Zhuque Street

Duanmu!

Have you seen Sect Leader Duanmu?

Have you seen Sect Leader Duanmu?

No.

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Duanmu!

Zhan Yan,

don't be sad.

Goodbye.

Duanmu!

Duanmu.

Where am I?

Duanmu,

where are you?

Yan Yan.

Yan Yan.

Yan Yan,

you just woke up,

where are you going now?

Where is Duanmu?

Where is she?

Is she in Duanmu Residence or Qifeng Prefecture?

Yan Yan, Yan Yan.

Yan Yan.

Yan Yan, please calm down.

Please sit down first.

Sit down, come on.

Carry it with you.

When you see it, it will remind you of me.

Yan Yan.

This is not real.

Yan Yan.

This is a dream.

Yan Yan, listen to me.

Please sit down first.

This is a dream.

I have to find her.

Yan Yan,

please sit down.

Get out of my way.

Yan Yan.

Yan Yan, listen to me.

Yan Yan.

I...

Listen to me.

Stop it.

Sit down.

Let go of me.

I have to find her.

Please sit down, will you?

Yan Yan,

calm down.

Please calm down.

Yan Yan.

I have to find her.

Yan Yan.

Let go of me.

Child,

this is not a dream.

This is real.

Real?

It has been three months since I brought you back

from Wenshui County.

There were a lot of blood on your clothes.

There were no wounds on your body,

yet you've been unconscious.

Yan Yan,

what on earth happened you?

Is Duanmu

gone?

She's long gone.

A big change

is coming to Qifeng Prefecture soon.

God of Justice,

when one is killed by God Slaying Sword,

her spirit will disperse.

What can we do?

Back then,

Duanmu was determined to open the abyss

to save Gu Chang and her soldiers who sacrificed.

In order to stop her,

we sealed her memories into Guixu.

Hence,

a wisp of her consciousness

still remain in Guixu.

God of Justice,

are you saying that...

I will lock Duanmu Cui into Guixu.

I hope this wisp of consciousness

can bring her divine spirit back together.

Will High Immortal Duanmu be able to come back?

I have done everything I can, the rest is up to fate.

High Immortal Duanmu,

you have to come back.

Zhan Yan is mine

from now on.

I will

take care of your master.

The bowl has become a demon.

It can talk.

And it tried to steal money.

Hit it!

Don't, don't.

Don't, don't.

It's over there.

Little Qing Hua.

Over there!

Over here!

Seize it!

Seize it!

Don't let it get away!

Little Qing Hua, come here!

Hurry, hurry!

Out of the way!

Go after it!

Look around!

Hurry, hurry!

I've finally found you.

Zhan Yan,

I am so happy to see you.

Why did they want to hit you?

So you didn't stay at Duanmu Residence

because you've been performing on the street?

I just want to earn some money,

so that I can buy some snacks for Master.

Who knew that earning money could be so difficult?

I even got hit.

Zhan Yan, look.

I made so much money.

Are these sufficient to buy a few sugar figurines?

Yes.

But it's a pity that Master won't be able to eat it.

No.

She will be when she returns.

It has been months.

Not only did she not come back,

she did not even write a letter to me.

Duanmu...

Everyone said she is dead.

She is a deity, how can she be dead?

I don't care, I don't believe it.

Toughen up if you are a man.

I am not a man!

I am a bowl!

Toughen up, even if you are a bowl.

Zhan Yan,

I miss Master so much.

She will be fine.

I think so too.

I will work hard to earn money.

When Master comes back,

I will buy her lots and lots of delicious food.

I will join you.

That's very kind.

It's a shame that I am just a bowl,

and you are just a jar,

we can't go to Penglai.

We can't see Master.

Penglai?

Master said that

when a deity dies, his soul will return to Penglai

and his body will be buried in Guixu.

I really want to pay my respects to Master.

So the place I saw

was Guixu.

You saw it?

How did you see it?

What did you see?

I saw Duanmu.

She is in Guixu.

I have to go to Penglai.

She must still be alive.

Has Zhan Yan gone insane?

How can a mortal go to Penglai?

Yes.

You want to go to Penglai?

Yes.

Cheng Ou, Zhu Ran,

please leave us alone for a minute.

Yes, my Lord.

Do you know what you're talking about?

The Butterfly Messenger did not show me visions

for no reason.

Duanmu is in Penglai.

She is waiting for me to find her.

You saw Duanmu?

I was not certain before.

I thought what I saw was my imagination

because I missed her too much.

Until I was reminded by Little Qing Hua's words.

When a deity dies, his soul will return to Penglai.

No matter Duanmu is alive or dead,

she must be in Penglai.

But you are a mortal,

how are you going to get to Penglai?

I made Duanmu a promise,

I will never abandon her again.

This time, no matter how hard it is,

no matter what it takes,

no matter she is in heaven or in hell,

Penglai or Ninth Hell,

I will go there.

Since ancient times,

only the one who is granted with divine status can go to Penglai.

Penglai Drawing is in Wengu's hands now.

You won't be able to go there.

Then I will go and ask Wengu to give it to me.

I am afraid Wengu

is no longer in the mortal world now.

Both of you, tell me.

How much longer would my sister remain unconscious?

If she wakes up and finds out

that we locked her up in Sea of Guixu,

will she smash Penglai?

Lord Yang Jian,

the Heavenly Maiden left a prophecy back then,

that Duanmu Cui is destined to suffer a trial.

After Duanmu Cui spent some time in the mortal world,

she has fallen in love.

If she recalls the love debt before she became a deity

and opens up the chest of love debts,

I am afraid it would put the world in chaos.

You're obviously just looking for excuse

to lock my sister up!

God of Justice,

you knew that

High Immortal Duanmu's chest of love debts

can put the fate of the three realms at stakes.

We must not take it lightly.

Besides,

her divine spirit is still unstable,

and Sea of Guixu is full of spiritual power.

Letting her stay here

is for the best.

That's right.

Fine.

I will give you my consent

to let her stay here.

But you have to promise me

that once the chest of love debts settles down,

you will let her out immediately.

Yes, of course.

Of course.

We have a problem!

Wengu has broken into Penglai,

he is now moving towards Sea of Guixu.

It's about time.

Duanmu,

I am late.

Duanmu,

I will take you away.

Stop!

Wengu,

I have spared your life.

Why did you risk your life and come back here?

I want to take Duanmu away.

I won't let her stay here alone in Guixu.

It's your fault that High Immortal Duanmu died.

Yet you have the audacity to take her away?

Fortunately, she has...

Shut up!

Duanmu

is really dead?

One who is killed by God Slaying Sword,

no matter it's demon or High Immortal,

his spirit will disperse.

This is impossible.

I don't believe this.

It can't be.

Duanmu,

you are just asleep, right?

I am a Divine Doctor.

I will find a way to save you.

I will find a way to save you!

Do you want Duanmu die unpeacefully?

Wengu,

this box is refined by the aura of heaven and earth.

You won't be able to destroy it.

Duanmu got stabbed by the God Slaying Sword for you

and her spirit ended up being dispersed.

She has done enough for you.

If you really care for her,

please stop this.

Let her die in peace.

It's not my fault that Duanmu died.

It's you!

Yang Jian,

Duanmu died because of you!

Today,

I will avenge Duanmu!

You rascal.

Wengu,

although you are an offspring of Demon King,

you were once a High Immortal of Penglai too.

Yet you have been causing troubles.

If you surrender now,

I can still spare your life.

If you insist on being stubborn,

I will leave you no mercy.

You keep saying that

you will spare my life,

yet you won't even give Duanmu a chance to live.

Yang Jian,

I am different from you.

I have to save Duanmu,

no matter what it takes.

What are you trying to do?

You are going to give up your divinity

and defect from Penglai?

That's right.

Penglai without Duanmu Cui

is not a place where I want to serve.

Without her,

what's the point of being a High Immortal?

You are crazy.

From the moment you killed Duanmu,

I've gone crazy!

I, Wengu, swear to heaven,

from now on,

I will abandon my divinity.

Penglai and I will remain at daggers drawn

until death!

You killed Duanmu,

I will never let you live in peace.

I will return and take Duanmu away!

You are my heir.

You should learn the power to rule the world.

You mustn't be soft-hearted

and compassionate.

If you want to be the ruler of the world,

don't let anyone or anything

become your vulnerable point.

Look, brother!

He has dragon horns on him.

Monster!

Hit him!

Monster! Hit him!

Even if he is not a monster,

he must be a retard.

Hit him! Hit him! Hit him!

You can't even shoot an arrow properly.

You half-breed.

You are only worthy of being a target for practice.

Why didn't you fight back?

He is my brother.

Don't let human race's

ridiculous and useless ideas

get to you.

If you don't get more powerful,

you deserve to be bullied and humiliated.

Demon Clan only respects those who are powerful.

You are either powerful

or become the inferior one.

Monster! Monster!

I am not a monster.

Run!

You have dragon's blood in your body.

If you remain kind

and soft-hearted,

then you are not worthy to be my heir.

Over the past thousand years,

I have been doing good deeds by working as a doctor.

I have been walking on eggshells everyday,

fearing that the slightest mistake

might nullify all my merits

and I will lose my chance to go to Penglai.

All I wanted was to go to Penglai.

Because there is where you are.

And you

have been serving Penglai loyally.

Yet those hypocritical deities

refused to save you from dying.

Since Penglai wouldn't accept you,

then I won't tolerate Penglai.

Since they chose to sacrifice you to protect the mortal world,

then I shall destroy the mortal world.

Duanmu,

I will get you back.

The Penglai Drawing has fallen into Wengu's hands.

If he uses it to open up Ninth Hell,

all the demons will get out.

The consequences would be unthinkable.

That's right.

Penglai should make preparation in advance.

If Duanmu Cui had reported this earlier

and had not cover up for Wengu,

things wouldn't have become like this.

That's right.

That's right.

Wengu?

Ninth Hell?

What does that have to do with my sister?

You horrible old men,

you've been living a comfortable life in Penglai,

saying that if the deities do not make trouble,

the mortals do not cause trouble.

Now this is great.

We have a trouble now.

And you're trying to blame it on my sister?

No, no.

We are just discussing it and trying to resolve it now, aren't we?

It's you!

You bad old man.

You flaunted your seniority

and tricked my sister to go to the mortal world,

and now you're trying to blame it on her,

aren't you?

I...You...

Yang Jian,

don't be unreasonable.

This is Duanmu Cui's fault.

You can't condone this.

How am I condoning it?

My sister's spirit is dispersed now.

She's lying unconsciously in Sea of Guixu.

No one know when she will wake up.

What?

You still want my sister to take care of

Penglai's trouble?

That's not what I meant.

But she did make a mistake.

What do you mean then?

You want my sister to take the lightning punishment in the lightning jail?

As the God of Justice,

my sister made a mistake,

I should be blamed, as I am her brother.

If you want to punish her,

I will take her place for the punishment.

Don't you try to blame it on her!

Zhuque Street

God of Matchmaking Temple

Lord Zhan!

Lord Zhan!

Please go and take a look.

The bowl has become a demon!

God of Matchmaking,

my master and you are such good friends.

She always said she wanted to

tear down your temple, but she never did it.

She has been really tolerant with you.

Did you send word to Master that

I really miss her?

If you don't pass her the message now, I will kill myself in front of you.

Fine.

I will commit suicide for my master now.

Let me go down in history.

Zhan Yan,

I'm glad you are here.

There is strength in numbers.

Let's die together in front of the God of Matchmaking.

I knew it's you.

I say,

since Sect Leader Duanmu left,

how many times have you been reported

for cheating the people?

Why won't you give it a rest?

I have written so many petitions to Master.

I've used all the money I earned

in incense offering.

But the God of Matchmaking still won't talk to me.

He won't even help me to pass a message to Penglai.

Did you earn those money yourself?

More like cheating.

I don't care.

What's the use of threatening

God of Matchmaking?

Did you really think you can go to Penglai by doing this?

Am I right, Lord Zhan?

Lord Zhan,

what are you doing?

Zhan Yan,

what are you writing?

If God of Matchmaking doesn't help us to pass the message,

starting tomorrow,

I will carry out a purge in God of Matchmaking Temple.

I will check on

every citizen who comes to pray.

If Qifeng Prefecture continues to do this every day,

he will lose his incense offering.

Duanmu,

as the saying goes, a day's separation seems as long as three years.

In that case,

it's like we have been separated for 300 years.

Duanmu,

everyone says that Qifeng City has a lot of different sceneries

in all seasons.

Zhuque Street

But when I look at the mountain, the river,

the streets and the sceneries,

I only saw two different sceneries,

a city with you in it and a city without you in it.

No matter how beautiful the city is,

without you,

it's dull and boring.

Duanmu,

there is an old saying,

fate will bring destined ones together eventually.

You told me that

a deity doesn't have a fated romance.

But I believe that

where there's a will, there is a way.

Duanmu,

no matter it's in heaven or in hell,

I want to hold your hand

and be with you forever.

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Zhan Yan.

High Immortal,

don't.

Don't break off the chain.

God of Matchmaking,

why am I locked up in here?

High Immortal,

have you forgotten?

You were killed by God Slaying Sword.

Your spirit was dispersed.

If it wasn't for this love lock,

which still had a trace of your memory,

to put your spirit together,

I am afraid

you would have been dead already by now.

Zhan Yan.

How is Zhan Yan?

These are the love messages

he forced me to pass to you.

Those words that written here,

I can't even bring myself to read it.

What matters is that he is fine.

I am relieved.

I have to see him.

I am awake now.

Why won't you untie me yet?

What you don't know is

this love lock

was originally used to lock up your love debt.

Now that you and it have merged into one,

of course you won't be able to break it off.

So I'm...

So I'm going to be locked up here forever?

High Immortal,

you've been through a lot

in your trip to mortal world to catch demons.

Why don't

you take the chance to rest here?

Why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?

I...

I won't dare to.

You just want to see Zhan Yan, right?

How about this?

I can use my divine vision

to show you God of Matchmaking Temple.

What do you say?

Hurry up.

May you stay warm during winter.

May you stay warm during spring.

May you be safe, happy

and healthy.

Duanmu,

I am doing well in the mortal world.

Don't worry.

Why does Zhan Yan look so pale?

And he said he's doing well?

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

Duanmu, is it you?

Duanmu.

Duanmu, how are you?

Does your wound still hurt?

You mustn't stop taking medicine

just because it's bitter.

Duanmu,

please answer me.

Duanmu.
