No Boundary

Episode 20

Zhan Yan.

You are usually very smart.

How come you are slow

this time?

She's a girl.

Unless

you want a girl to tell you this.

Zhan Yan.

Please don't leave.

I want to stay with you.

Is that possible?

Take a look.

What time is it now?

I'm telling you.

If you wait,

I'm afraid you can't keep up

with Duanmu.

We'll never meet again in Penglai and the mortal world.

It's getting late.

Even if you go now,

I think you are too late.

Sect Leader Duanmu would have left.

Yan Yan.

Where are you?

Lord Jiang.

Take care.

Be careful.

In Wenshui County,

if I can find

the last Penglai fragment,

Zhan Yan,

we'll never

ever meet again.

If you can't let go,

why didn't you keep her?

Duanmu is a deity.

I am a mortal.

She lives eternally.

But I only live for a short moment.

Why force it?

Do you think deity

won't grow old and die?

Once upon a time,

there wasn't a Qifeng City

nor Duanmu Residence.

There were no deities in Penglai.

Nothing

stays forever.

Everyone will disappear.

Only memories and love

remain unchanged.

Who doesn't die?

Should we stop loving

because we are afraid of death?

If she doesn't fall in love,

she will never face death.

Tell me.

If you are Duanmu Cui,

will you choose to die from love and hate?

Or to live a lonely eternal life?

Cherish the person you love.

Unfortunately

it's too late.

Not necessarily.

Wenshui County needs to borrow a sheriff.

I think you are suitable for the post.

Godfather.

You

should've known earlier.

Come back soon.

Your godmother and I will wait for you.

This is your transfer order.

That's all I could do for you.

The rest is up to you.

It's a long way to Wenshui.

Yan'er.

Take care.

Sure enough.

She has the Penglai Drawing.

Miss.

Young Master Liu is here.

Let him in.

Xiao Huan.

Boil some water.

Make a cup of tea for Young Master Liu.

All right.

Aren't you busy

looking for immortality lately?

Why did you suddenly think of me?

Xiu'er.

You misunderstood me.

It's not that I don't miss you.

Since you fell sick,

I've been thinking about you.

I spent every penny

to look for a Taoist priest

who could save you.

Is that

the truth?

Of course.

Without you,

what use do I want this money for?

Are you here today

because you found a way to save me?

Not yet.

I heard

Liang Wen Qi is a demon.

He might harm you.

I am worried for you.

That's why I came to see you.

Did you know

how scared I was?

I am sorry.

Liang Wen Qi is not here.

Without him,

we can rightfully

be together.

What's that sound?

A wild cat.

A cat?

I've chased it away.

You should take a good look at me.

Penglai Drawing protects its owner.

I must make her give me

her blood from her heart willingly.

What Penglai Drawing is this?

It doesn't work sometimes.

Where should I start

in Wenshui County?

Tea

Shopkeeper.

One sweet tea with more sugar.

All right.

Please enjoy.

Shopkeeper.

Anything weird happened

in this city lately?

Did you know the Wang family in town?

No.

If you want to tell,

I'm willing to listen.

It's

an established family in town.

Although Wang family is rich,

they have a poor son-in-law

who is a doctor.

Few days ago,

something happened to him.

He grew old overnight

and disappeared.

Wang Residence

The weirdest thing is

Enjoy all blessings at the hand of God

his wife Wang Xiu.

She was very sick.

She was suddenly well again,

like a young girl.

This is the place.

Penglai Drawing is on Miss Wang.

Miss.

Sheriff Lin is here.

Miss.

Madam Liang.

The disappearance of...

I go by my maiden's name.

I am Wang.

Madam Wang.

The disappearance of Liang Wen Qi

has some missing clues.

Please tell me again what happened.

All right.

But this will be the last time.

Don't look for me anymore.

Is this sheriff capable?

There are

no useful clues.

It'll be good if Zhan Yan is here.

He is smart and capable.

He can solve anything.

Oh no.

Why am I thinking about him?

Who's that?

Why does this teapot turn over?

Duanmu is in Wang family in Wenshui.

Duanmu has never travelled

so far on her own.

I'm worried for her.

Xiu'er.

Liu Biao.

I am frightened.

The sheriff has been bothering me.

And

I think I saw Liang Wen Qi.

Did he come back?

Xiu'er.

I'll protect you from now on.

I will handle

all your troubles for you.

What do you plan to do?

Strengthen the three souls.

Hold the spirits together.

Bad luck and evil spirits

be gone.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

He's a demon.

He's not a demon.

The priest hasn't spoken.

Who are you?

Xiu'er.

Duanmu Cui from Xihualiu Sect.

Duanmu Cui.

You are fast.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Xiu'er.

Something is wrong.

Paper Crane said he has no vital signs.

He's already dead.

Xiu'er.

Don't come near me.

Don't come near me.

Xiu'er.

Madam Wang.

Demons hurt people.

It's not your fault.

To destroy the Demon Clan completely,

one must destroy their bodies.

Otherwise in half a day

he'll be back to haunt us again.

Madam Wang.

Your husband is a demon.

You mustn't let him harm people.

Yes.

He must be stopped.

Kill him.

Kill him.

Priest.

I'll listen to you.

Burn him immediately.

Liang Wen Qi was already dead.

Killing him once again must be

to cover up the cause of death.

Perhaps

the clue is on the body.

They mustn't destroy the body.

Madam.

You've visitor.

He said he's from Qifeng City

and a friend of master.

His name is Wengu.

Let him in.

Madam Wang.

Have a seat, Divine Doctor Wengu.

Wengu is in Wenshui County now.

If I delay further,

there may be trouble.

I must let Wang Xiu draw blood

from her heart willingly.

Penglai Drawing will be mine soon.

Wen Qi is dead.

Please forgive me

for any inconvenience caused.

Madam.

I am sorry.

Madam.

Have you seen a girl

who claimed to be Duanmu Cui?

No, I haven't.

But...

Madam.

Yes?

You knew Wen Qi.

Did you know he was a demon?

Although I only knew Liang Wen Qi briefly,

he was not a demon.

You look healthy and lively.

You are not weak as he described.

What

did he say?

He asked me to save you.

What a pity.

I thought you're dying.

I couldn't do much.

But he insisted to save you.

He gave you the elixir.

Looks like you already have it.

What elixir?

If Duanmu is not here,

I must leave.

Could it be

I have wronged my husband?

He saved me with an ancestral life-saving elixir.

But I killed him.

Xiu'er.

Do you miss me?

Tell me something.

You said Wen Qi would hurt me.

I would be short-lived.

Is that true or a lie?

Why did someone tell me

Wen Qi gave me a life-saving elixir?

Liu Biao.

You vomited blood.

Are you all right?

Xiu'er.

Today

I must tell you the truth.

Actually

your condition has not improved.

It's temporarily suppressed.

I noticed it

but I dare not tell you.

When I found Liang Wen Qi,

I was injured by him.

I secretly

gave my life to you,

and tried to keep him down.

I am afraid I am dying soon.

Why are you such a fool?

I'll find Divine Doctor Wengu.

It's no use.

Only pure blood drawn from the heart can save me.

But who is willing to give it to me?

I'm willing.

Xiu'er.

I won't allow you to hurt yourself.

Liu Biao.

I want to be with you forever.

But I can't

just watch you die.

Don't force it.

For you,

I am willing.

If he loves you,

he won't hurt you.

Did you know?

Without the blood,

you will die?

Duanmu Cui.

It's you!

Xiu'er.

Don't listen to her.

I love you.

I won't hurt you.

I believe you.

You still refuse to believe?

I'll let you see clearly.

Demon.

I'll get you.

I already suspected you.

I am going to get you now.

No.

Quick, run.

Wang Xiu.

He's a demon.

He killed Liang Wen Qi.

Zhan Yan.

It's you.

It's me.

Why are you here?

Butterfly Messenger led you.

Yes.

Do you

miss me?

Who...

Who misses you?

I miss you.

Since we separated,

I couldn't sleep every night.

I had no appetite.

Everything I saw,

I thought of you.

It wasn't what you said in Qifeng.

This is the truth.

Cui'er.

I'm sorry.

What

did you call me?

Cui'er.

This flower represents my love for you.

It's an ugly flower.

You don't like it?

I'll throw it.

No.

I will accept it.

That aside.

I found a demon.

He's related to the death of Wen Qi.

How come you're so tall?

I didn't become tall.

But you shrunk.

Cui'er.

You are too careless.

You are not Zhan Yan.

Duanmu Cui.

You're always against me.

I am going to kill you.

It's your fault,

Zhan Yan.

If it's not because of you,

I won't be tricked by him.

You rushed here

from Qifeng Prefecture.

Without rest

and went to check the body

of Liang Wen Qi.

Are you sick?

I am fine.

The case is odd.

Let's not delay.

I must ask Wang Xiu something.

Madam Wang.

Sorry for disturbing.

I am Zhan Yan,

sheriff from Qifeng Prefecture.

I'll take over

the case of Liang Wen Qi.

Lord Zhan.

Wen Qi is dead.

What do you want to know?

It's the demon again.

You changed into Zhan Yan to trick Wang Xiu.

Routine question.

Please cooperate.

What do you want to know?

When you caught the demon,

was Liang Wen Qi still alive?

Yes.

But he's a demon,

he wanted to kill me.

I could only...

When I checked his body today,

he was a mortal.

He wasn't a demon.

He has been dead for days.

He couldn't have killed you.

Are you suspecting me?

You think I am the demon?

Making a false countercharge?

Aren't you the demon?

When deity becomes small,

spells become useless too.

I have the deity binding rope.

Done.

This case involves demons.

Please follow us back to the county office.

All right.

I'll go with you.

How dare you break my deity binding rope?

That's not right.

Demons can't untie the rope.

He's really Zhan Yan.

How unfortunate.

I defeated Duanmu Cui.

But now Zhan Yan is here.

Looks like

I have to take drastic action.

This way please.

Lord Zhan.

The room is simple.

If you need anything,

please don't hesitate to ask.

It's great.

Thank you, Sheriff Lin.

Rest early, Lord Zhan.

Lord Zhan.

Did you see

a little people at the door?

No.

It's a little demon.

Sheriff Lin.

Is it because of the recent case

you're hallucinating?

Don't worry.

I am here.

There'll be breakthrough in the case.

Please forgive me.

Maybe I was hallucinating.

Please rest well.

Didn't you want to donate it?

You liar.

Zhan Yan.

As thick as a plank.

No.

Plank reacts faster.

Duanmu.

I am in Wenshui County.

I want to see you.

But I can't.

It's all right.

I have you.

Why can't he?

I am curious.

What

are you thinking every day?

You're cold in front of me.

But hug my doll behind me.

You are double-faced.

What're you thinking?

Tell me.

What is this?

Duanmu Cui.

What a fool.

Worse than Little Qing Hua.

Here I am standing in front of him.

The doll matters more.

Can't recognise me?

Duanmu.

Is that you?

No.

It's an illusion.

You're dreaming.

Continue talking to the doll.

Ignore me.

Duanmu.

Go away.

Duanmu.

Duanmu.

It's really you, Duanmu.

How come you are so small?

I like it this way.

Fool!

I still can't get it.

Lord Zhan.

Help me.

He said

he loves me.

But he really wants to kill me.

Madam Wang.

Who was here?

Don't assume

I'll believe you

when you change your looks.

Go out.

Out of my sight.

Go out.

Sheriff Lin.

Please

get me the archives on

Liu Biao.

The more the better.

And

someone disguised as Liu Biao.

If we can't find Liu Biao,

that means he might be dead.

This man can disguise as

anyone.

From now on,

martial law in county office.

No one can come in.

Yes.

No need to check.

I know who he is.

Goodbye.

Illusion.

It's an illusion.

Come closer, I'll tell you.

Listen.

Liang Wen Qi wasn't a demon.

You suspect Liang Wen Qi let Wang Xiu

ate the Penglai Drawing's fragment to save her?

I am very sure of it.

I checked Wang Xiu before.

She's a mortal,

but she has an immortal body.

If it isn't because of the Penglai Drawing's fragment,

that demon wouldn't have gone all out

to get her drew blood from her heart.

I'm guessing

it's the Penglai Drawing's spirit

assimilates into the body.

If the owner

doesn't do it willingly,

even if he kills Wang Xiu

it won't work.

You are saying the demon

has a Penglai Drawing's fragment too?

He can sense Wang Xiu?

Yes.

The Penglai Drawing of the hairpin that I lost

must be with him.

The demon won't give up easily.

He will be back.

If he comes, he won't escape.

Of course.

The fragment feels him if he is nearby.

He won't be able to escape.

No way.

This is another fake one?

Maybe the demon

found Wang Xiu through

the fragments.

The demon is very cunning.

He managed to steal

the fragments from me twice.

He was successful.

Don't worry, you have me.

It's getting late.

Let's rest.

We need the energy to catch him tomorrow.

I...

Who's going to sleep with you?

Look at you now.

You are easily blown away.

Don't move around.

The pillow is nice.

It's soft and warm.

It suits me.

Sleep now, Duanmu.

You too.

No nightmares for you.

If you clench your fist in your dream,

you'll crush me.

I dare not sleep

if you say like that.

Duanmu.

I am sorry.

You have suffered a lot.

Zhan Yan.

Let's take a look.

I fell in love with the wrong man.

I deserve this.

Are you here to laugh at me?

That's true.

Did you know

how much Wen Qi gave to you?

He'd rather grow old,

gave up his life-saving elixir for you.

But you dislike him because he was poor.

You were deceived by the demon

and killed him.

No.

I don't believe it.

I found a divorce letter

on Liang Wen Qi in the mortuary.

Xiu'er.

I come from a poor family.

You honoured the promise

and married me but suffered greatly.

I've an illness.

If not because of the elixir,

I would have been dead.

I know you think I am useless and poor.

But I don't blame you.

If the elixir can save you,

that would be a blessing.

Liu Biao is rich.

He's good to you.

With him around,

I am relieved.

I am dying soon.

I can't be with you anymore.

Long life to you.

I wish you happiness.

Wen Qi.

Did I kill you?

You were fooled by wealth and

family background.

Did you know?

In this life,

no one loves you

more than Liang Wen Qi.

I have experienced the same thing as you.

You didn't come from equal social rank.

But his love for you

was deep.

If you missed a man like that,

you won't find

a second one in this world.

The person he loves,

is it me?

If it's true,

why did he leave me?

Did you lose someone before?

I have made mistakes.

I let her down.

I am not sure

if she will forgive me.

Why is he looking at me?

Is it really me?

But Wen Qi is dead.

I killed him.

Lord Zhan.

Please let me die.

I let Wen Qi down.

I can only die for him.

If you die,

that's the greatest betrayal.

The best way to comfort the dead

is to clear his name.

Can I trust you?

You can choose not to.

If you retain your youth

and not clear his name,

Wen Qi won't blame you.

You'll feel guilty

for a lifetime.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Please take out the elixir.

I can't protect it.

I can rest assured only if

Lord Zhan has it.

Without it,

you'll grow old and die.

Are you sure?

It will be a humiliation

if I live an eternal life.

I would rather grow old and die,

and meet Wen Qi,

instead of

living a lonely life in this world.

All right.

Wang Xiu.

Rest assured.

We will find the murderer

and bring justice to you.

Leave now.

Take care.

Zhan Yan.

Please explain

what you meant by that?

It means what it means.

I don't like to guess.

Explain if you want.

If not,

I can't be bothered.

Duanmu.

Wang Xiu and Liang Wen Qi

used to love each other.

But in the end

their social status still matters.

You are right.

Prefecture and deity

are not a good match.

If Wang Xiu could start over again,

do you think she would still choose Liang Wen Qi?

What you said is not true.

First,

she can't start over again.

And

whether it's mortal or deity,

what's done is done.

If you could start over again,

what'd you do?

I would get to know you

and become your best friend.

One day without talking to me

will give you headache.

And

I want to know

what kind of things

do you keep

in your head?

Cases, naturally.

And you.

I have forgotten, why should I

talk to you any longer?

Duanmu.

I'm sorry.

You've suffered.

Good that you know.

To be able to talk to you now

is a blessing.

Don't provoke me.

All right, I promise I won't

make you angry.

Duanmu.

I was a coward.

I let you down.

If I come around now,

is it still in time?

Lower your head.

Lower your head.

I will remember this.

We shall see later.

And in order

not to provoke me,

first of all

don't make friends

with women on the streets.

Smile at me more.

Then you have to take care of me.

When I don't smile,

I still look handsome,

smart and capable,

and multi-talented.

Girls who fell for me in Qifeng

are abundant,

not less than eighty.

In for a fight?

Only you stole my heart.

You aren't willing?

I dare not.

Zhan Yan.

Stop.

The fragment brought us here.

It must've felt it.

You said

Penglai Drawing's fragment

can sense anything in this world.

I think

it's guiding us

to find owners of Penglai Drawing's fragments.

You mean

the demon who took the Penglai Drawing?

He is related to the case.

We must be careful.

Zhan Yan.

Put me in your hat.

Why?

I put the Qiankun bag in your hat.

Protect the drawing

instead of me.

Understand.

You be careful.

Trying to escape with Liang Wen Qi's elixir?

I was wondering who you are?

Turns out to be a reptile.

Nothing great.

Duanmu Cui.

I hate it

when people call me a reptile.

But you're a reptile.

A shape shifter

but not powerful reptile.

Hand me the elixir.

I can let you live.

Get it if you can.

Duanmu.
