No Boundary

Episode 16

Ornaments!

Ornaments!

Do you want one, young lady?

Great!

Do it again!

Great!

Great!

Great!

Be careful.

Don't get too close.

There's doll hooping.

Let's have a look.

I'll hoop it for you.

No need.

I'll show you what I got.

Nice!

Am I good, Zhan Yan?

Wonderful!

Wengu.

Let's go there.

Is this doll cute?

Yes.

Buy it.

Buy it.

What's the matter?

Nothing.

Let's go somewhere else.

Don't you like dolls?

I'm not an abandoned kid

who needs a doll's company.

Duanmu.

I didn't wish to abandon you.

But,

I'm not the most suitable man

Zhuque Street

by your side.

What are you doing?

What is this?

For a stolen sugar figurine,

must you chase me until you get me?

Zhuque Street

Duanmu Cui!

Didn't Zhan Yan break your heart?

Why did you protect him

and Qifeng City?

That's not your cue to harm him.

Duanmu Cui!

Don't be arrogant!

The Elder of the Ninth Hell won't spare you!

Sure.

Remind him when I throw all of you

back to the Ninth Hell.

With me in Qifeng City,

none of you can act audaciously!

Is Lord Zhan going mad?

He even took out the old cases

from before.

We have to go three rounds

when we're patrolling.

I'm so tired!

How dare you?

Look at Lord Zhan.

He fulfils his duties

all day every day.

He reads scrolls at night too.

You say you're tired when he never eats?

That's different.

How can we compare ourselves to him?

That's right.

He won't be able

to take it even if he's fit.

Come here.

Come here!

Why are you pacing outside?

Lord Zhan.

You have to get some rest.

It's crucial to stay healthy in an investigation.

You shouldn't risk your life.

I'm healthier than you.

Speaking of which,

how can you run investigations

if you're tired for three rounds?

Go.

Run the prefecture for ten rounds.

Ten rounds?

What?

Too less?

20 rounds.

Records Room

Long.

I made a huge sacrifice.

Look at my legs.

They're trembling so hard.

Stop whining.

Didn't you see Lord Zhan

leaving after hearing your whining?

Does it hurt?

I can sense something wrong

with Yan'er these days.

He locked himself in the study

and stayed in all day.

He even ate in there.

If this continues,

he'll eventually be sick.

You too.

Even if he's capable,

you shouldn't leave all the work

just to Yan'er alone.

I didn't leave them to him.

He took them willingly.

He's that hardworking.

I can't help it.

Was that hardworking?

He's obviously hurt inside out.

You know Yan'er.

He surely kept quiet,

but he's the most affectionate man.

Think about it.

They were sweet with each other.

How did things end up this way?

Say,

why don't I go and look for some matches

for him?

You shouldn't do that.

Stop arranging his marriage for him.

Let the youngsters

figure out their own minds.

I can see

that they still missed each other.

Miss Duanmu.

Warm up with a bowl of dumplings.

I'm not hungry.

It's so late.

You must've not eaten.

I'm closing my shop too.

This bowl of dumplings is free of charge.

Thank you for capturing the Demon Clan every night

and helping us out.

Have a seat.

Boss.

How do you know I dislike spring onions

and like vegetarian dumplings?

I'll know

if I want to know.

It's such a pity.

Sincere people are lesser than

sad people in the world.

Lord Zhan.

Why don't you tell her

that you cooked every bowl of the dumplings?

If I told her,

I could lose the chance to cook her

a bowl of dumplings too.

Wengu Medical Hall

Doctor Wengu.

Don't you think the cat is demonic?

It's always attacking people

but no one ever catches it.

I guess

it's possibly the Demon Clan.

Don't scare yourself

when the investigation hasn't completed.

Doctor?

What's wrong?

Are you feeling unwell?

Doctor?

What is it?

Doctor Wengu?

Doctor?

High Immortal Wengu.

What's wrong, High Immortal Wengu?

This...

I'm sorry.

High Immortal Wengu is not feeling well today.

Please come again next time.

Fine then.

High Immortal Wengu?

High Immortal Wengu?

Let's go inside.

High Immortal Wengu!

Demon Clan!

He's a demon!

Doctor Wengu is a demon!

Practise Medicine to Help Public

He's not a demon!

He saved all of you!

Are you returning kindness with ingratitude?

That's right.

He gave us a great deal of help.

Could there be a mistake?

That's right.

It must be a mistake.

Listen to me.

Someone among you is doing the trick.

Practise Medicine to Help Public

Someone's dead!

It's him!

He used the demonic poison on us.

Corner him!

Don't let him escape!

Practise Medicine to Help Public

Yes!

Catch him!

He's a demon!

We can't spare him!

Calm down!

Qifeng Prefecture

There's a demon! There's a demon!

Where?

At Wengu Medical Hall.

Doctor Wengu is a demon!

Help!

What?

Kill him!

Saving Lives and Healing the Sick

No!

Make way! Make way!

Make way, all of you!

Move!

Duanmu!

Wengu!

I look hideous.

Don't look at me.

Let's go.

Let's go.

He's a demon?

What actually happened?

I'm a semi-demon.

Now,

I can't stay at Qifeng City any longer.

It's not a secret

that you're a semi-demon.

You're an immortal

now that you attained immortality.

Your demonic lineage is not an issue.

Even so,

the people are scared of the Demon Clan.

Besides, I couldn't

control

my demonic instincts back there.

Why?

What happened?

Today,

I was attending to patients as usual.

Suddenly, the demonic poison got to me

and that made me lose control of my mind and emotions.

Duanmu.

I've implicated the Xihualiu Sect.

If I couldn't control

my demonic instincts,

I'm not qualified as the high immortal.

Penglai won't accept me.

Send me back for judgements.

You belong to Xihualiu Sect.

No one else will judge you.

I cultivated for 1,000 years to become the high immortal.

But now, I'm back at where I began.

It's not your fault.

Don't blame yourself.

Duanmu.

If I can't control

my demonic lineage in the future

and becomes a full demon,

won't you mind?

I don't care about your past.

I care about the present.

Regardless of you being a mortal or a demon.

I can't call myself

a general if I couldn't

protect a soldier who would

sacrifice himself for me.

Wengu.

I believe in you.

You mustn't

degrade yourself.

You're worth it

if I say you are.

With your trust,

I'll give my all

to uphold it.

You said the same

back in a thousand years ago.

Thank you, Duanmu.

I just think that this matter

looks fishy to me.

The people of Qifeng City

knows about my demonic lineage.

I'll bring trouble

to Xihualiu Sect if I stay.

You're from Duanmu Residence.

I'll see who'll mess with you.

But...

That's it.

Get some rest.

I'll handle the rest.

Wengu has been an immortal for a long time.

Logically,

his demonic traits would be suppressed by divinity.

He won't go berserk.

Something's wrong here.

I think it has to do with the Ninth Hell.

I must look into it.

Did you do something to Wengu?

Why would his dragon form appear?

It's just a spell

to make him go berserk.

It won't harm his life.

Why would you do that?

Wengu hates to be threatened.

What is your purpose

of doing this?

You have no rights to teach me how to do!

If Wengu

is willing to submit to me,

I'll provide him the antidote.

If he doesn't,

he shall die from going berserk!

Elder!

Something's wrong with them.

Be careful!

I know.

Careful!

Don't get too close.

What is this?

I think they're poisoned by the demonic poison.

Wengu said he caught the same poison too.

Poisoned?

Qifeng Prefecture

Calm down, everyone.

The Qifeng Prefecture

will provide an explanation.

Zhang Long, Zhao Wu.

Bring Doctor Wengu here

for interrogation.

How dare you, Zhan Yan?

Should we go or not?

Go.

Try me.

I won't go.

Never mind.

I'll go myself.

Well done

on the matter.

The people of Qifeng City

are all wary of Wengu now.

Soon enough, we'll be able to

eliminate the Duanmu Residence.

By the way,

you must retrieve the pieces of

Penglai Drawing from Duanmu Cui.

This

is the key between our transaction.

Of course.

One more thing.

Keep an eye on Hong Luan for me.

I feel that she might have something on her mind.

Don't let her ruin our plan.

Come out, Wengu! Come out!

Xihualiu let the Demon Clan loose!

What happened to justice?

Xihualiu kept a criminal!

Come out! Come out!

Calm down, everyone!

Be quiet!

Zhan Yan.

This is Xihualiu's matter.

The Qifeng Prefecture should step out of it.

Wengu is a suspect.

I have to take him back.

I can only prove Wengu's innocence

if he aids the investigation.

The Demon Clan did it.

I'll do the investigation.

Zhan Yan.

This is not something you can do.

Don't meddle in.

Don't blame me for being rude

if you insist to stop me.

Zhan Yan.

Xihualiu doesn't welcome you.

Leave.

Xihualiu Sect

Duanmu.

I know you're protective.

But I have to take

Wengu back as an official routine.

What a dedicated Lord Zhan.

If that's so,

fight me.

See if you can take

Wengu from me.

Lord Zhan.

I'll go with you.

How dare you come out?

Kill him!

Wengu, you...

Calm down, everyone!

He killed so many people!

Don't act rashly!

Don't be rash, everyone!

It's fine, I'm alright.

Don't harm them.

I believe in the truth.

Lord Zhan will prove me innocent.

We'll do as you want.

Lord Zhan.

Let's go.

Divine Doctor Wengu.

Please.

Wait.

I'm going too.

With me around,

no one can bully you.

He dares to show up?

Xihualiu Sect

Calm down, everyone!

Fairness and Integrity

High Immortal Wengu,

where were you last night?

What did you do?

I...

He was at my residence for the whole night.

Any alibi?

Actually...

I'm the alibi.

Wengu got hurt in the medical hall

due to your incompetence.

I took care of him

for a whole night in the hut.

A whole night?

But I remember that

you were with me last night.

Who's with you last night?

I was investigating.

I didn't want to do

any other things with you either.

His Lordship is still here.

Can't you hold yourself?

Get lovey-dovey in private.

Lord Shangguan.

You must be mistaken.

Who's lovey-dovey with him?

Audacious!

Mind your manners

in the court!

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Please obey

the orders of the prefecture.

I'm asking Divine Doctor Wengu.

You're the one breaking the rules, Lord Zhan.

Lord Jiang is here.

Don't you think he should ask for himself?

Sect Leader Duanmu is right.

Lord Zhan.

Keep quiet.

-Sir. -My Lord.

Mister Wengu.

Tell me.

Did you leave

Duanmu Residence last night?

My Lord.

I felt unwell last night,

so I stayed there.

Everyone in Xihualiu can testify for me.

Who else besides

those in Xihualiu

can prove that you didn't leave?

Lord Zhan.

What do you mean?

Do you mean everyone

in Xihualiu is lying?

Wengu is from Xihualiu.

You can't convince

the others with this sole testimony.

Divine Doctor Wengu.

Can you show me your injury?

No!

I have to find new evidence

to help Wengu prove his innocence.

Lord Zhan.

Please have a look.

It's the same symptom

like the other victims.

What do you mean?

Wengu is a victim

if he's not the perpetrator.

Wengu is a victim.

Can we leave if there's nothing else?

Not for now.

You're only allowed to leave

after the case is solved.

Zhan Yan.

You're looking for trouble.

Those unrelated

must keep quiet in the court.

If we're unrelated,

we shall take our leave.

Duanmu Cui!

We shouldn't touch each other.

Please be self-dignified, Lord Zhan.

Don't tug and pull.

Duanmu, listen to me.

Calm down.

I would've burned

the prefecture down if I'm not calm.

Will I waste my time here?

I know you're mad.

You're blaming me.

But please trust me.

I'm really trying to help Xihualiu.

No need.

I'll look through it myself.

This matter

could be targeting on Xihualiu.

Or worse, you.

Even Wengu was harmed.

We shouldn't underestimate them.

Duanmu.

You shouldn't be involved in this case.

Leave it to us.

I'll do what I can

to prove Wengu innocent.

You know they're coming at us,

and you insist to handle it.

Zhan Yan.

Are you tired of living?

Are you worried about me?

Therefore you're stopping me?

I don't wish to owe you.

I can do it on my own.

Don't meddle in.

Duanmu.

I've promised Lord Jiang

that I'll stay here.

I'll leave when the case is solved.

No way!

Don't worry, Sect Leader Duanmu.

The Qifeng Prefecture

will ensure Mister Wengu's safety.

Everyone here believes in Xihualiu.

Fine.

For the sake the Marquis,

I'll trust the Qifeng Prefecture again.

But if anything happens to Wengu,

I'll tear the prefecture down.

Wengu.

I'll go back for now.

Don't worry, I'm fine.

This way.

Yan Yan.

What's wrong with you?

You look pale.

Boss didn't sleep last night

for Xihualiu's case.

He didn't even drink.

You're ridiculous!

How can you rush an investigation?

It's fine.

I'm worried that

they're targeting Duanmu.

If I'm late,

Xihualiu would have

more trouble.

But Sect Leader Duanmu is too capricious.

She can't treat you like that.

I disappointed Duanmu first.

Everything she does is right.

I'll organize the evidence.

Remind the guards

to treat Mister Wengu well.

Get some rest.

The two of them

cared for each other.

Why did they separate?

Zhao Wu.

Why can't I understand them?

You don't have a wife,

Lord Shangguan.

Zhang Long.

What do you think?

Lord Zhan will have

his own plans.

We'll listen to him.

What do you mean?

She's saying that

they're feeling mutual.

We shouldn't step in.

You two are indeed

Yan Yan's best disciples.

This is my first time

hearing some sensible words from you.

This is my first time

getting praised by you.

Don't be proud.

Sect Leader Duanmu!

You're back!

The prefecture won't do anything to me.

Where's High Immortal Wengu?

He'll stay at the prefecture for two days

and return after the case is solved.

No way!

He can't stay there!

Why?

Nothing.

He never stayed outside.

He might not be used to it.

Hong Luan.

You're considerate.

Master!

Is Xihualiu going down?

Who said that?

Who dares to do that

with me in Xihualiu?

Master.

You're the best.

Master.

Master is the best.

That's it.

Hong Luan.

You're worried about Xihualiu?

Nothing like this ever happened to Xihualiu.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

I...

Don't worry.

I'll protect you and Wengu.

Good girl.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

If I do

something wrong to you one day...

You won't.

I believe in you.

Wengu won't last for long

with the demonic poison.

He's now locked in prison.

How can I help him?

Hurry! I'll take you out!

I'm staying here.

I won't leave.

Even if you die here?

If I leave,

Xihualiu will be convicted.

I don't wish to see

Duanmu's reputation ruined.

You'll be sacrificed

if you stay here.

Can't you see that

it's a trap?

So, you do know something.

Tell me.

Did the Ninth Hell do this?

Don't blame me.

What are you doing?

These people were attacked by animals.

They went to Wengu

after they were scratched.

If we can find the beast,

we'll find a clue.

But if it's just a normal scratch,

why would they go berserk?

What do you think?

Perhaps,

the Demon Clan is behind this.

If that's so,

should we

let Xihualiu do the work,

or not?

Everyone is saying that

Xihualiu

is the biggest lair of crime.

They even said Sect Leader Duanmu is the mastermind

while Wengu is her accomplice.

You believe them?

Of course I don't.

All in all,

evidence will provide the truth.

There are many doubts in this case.

I'll ask Wengu for more clues.

Rest early.

Yan Yan!

Who is it?

Wengu!

What did you say

you saw just now?

I saw a figure flipping through

the courtyard's wall last night after a patrol.

I thought it was Sect Leader Duanmu

and kept quiet

as her entrance is always like that.

I didn't expect that she was here

to raid the prison and commit murder!

What about you?

I saw it too.

It was a woman.

Very well.

With concrete evidences,

go invite Sect Leader Duanmu here for a word.

Yes, sir!

Wait.

My Lord.

Sect Leader Duanmu may be impatient,

but she's reasonable and just.

She would never raid the prison or commit murder.

Lord Zhan.

It's fine for you to shield Duanmu Cui.

But now,

she was caught for attacking

our men at Qifeng Prefecture.

Are you still

determined to protect Duanmu Cui?

Duanmu Cui threatened

to tear the prefecture down

if anything happens to Wengu.

With such arrogance,

it's reasonable for her

to raid the prison and injure others.

A life is at stake.

No one can confirm

if it was Sect Leader Duanmu.

Zhang Long!

You're defending Duanmu Cui too?

Are you bought over by her?

What did you say?

Don't malign Long!

Audacious!

His Lordship will determine

if it was her doing.

We shouldn't spread rumours

without confirmation.

We've been allies with

Xihualiu for some time.

Sect Leader Duanmu may be reckless in her actions,

but she would never harm the innocent.

Though there're concrete evidences against her,

His Lordship will investigate thoroughly.

He would never spare her

if she really did it.

But if she was wronged,

we'll

prove her innocent.

The laws in Qifeng City

is like a cliff.

Those who went overboard

will have to pay for their crimes

no matter of their distinguished statuses

or low birth backgrounds.

If Duanmu Cui did commit the crime,

she will be punished accordingly.

She'll never be the perpetrator!

Zhan Yan!

Speak cautiously.

You need evidence for your statement.

My Lord.

Existing evidences can't prove

Duanmu's innocence.

Can you give me some time

to investigate on my own?

Fine.

I'll give you a chance.

But,

you mustn't disappoint us.

Thank you, sir.

Why are you here at my place

if you're not working?

Duanmu.

Someone raid the prison last night.

Which brave one

did what I wanted to do?

Who was taken?

Wengu was taken.

The prison guards were killed.

Where's Wengu?

He's missing.

This is Wengu's blood.

Seems like he's injured.

He must've been captured.

I'm going after him.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

You can't leave here

as a suspect of murder.

Wengu stayed here last night.

With his status unknown,

how dare you stop me

when you can't find him yourself?

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Forgive us from being rude

if you resist.

Don't blame me for being ruthless

if you stop me!

Zhan Yan!

Move!

Calm down, Duanmu!

You'll fall into their trap

if you attack now.

Leave with me!

Why didn't you avoid it?

Take her down!

After her!

After her!

Yan Yan!

Here, be careful.

I brewed some medicine.

Drink it.

Why did you bring me here?

I won't harm you.

Take care of yourself first.

I'm going back to the residence.

Careful.

It's a bit bitter.

Is your hand alright?

I'm glad that your hand is fine.

I'll brew another bowl.

Stop wasting your effort.

I won't drink your medicine.

I know you hate me.

Yes.

The Ninth Hell

set you up.

But no matter how much you hate me,

finish the medicine

so that you can fend me off.

It's really you.

Are you trying to force me back

to the Ninth Hell?

Someone's here!

Duanmu!

Wengu!

Duanmu.

How are you?

I'm fine.

I'll take you away.

Let's go.

My Lord.

Even if Lord Zhan is young,

he can't withstand such injuries.

If the Qifeng Prefecture

constantly uses humans as shields,

why should you hire me?

You can hire the undertaker.

You're right, doctor.

Thank you.

Take good care of him.

Duanmu Cui didn't use

full power in her attack.

You'll be able

to avoid it skilfully.

Did you let her go on purpose?

Duanmu is loyal.

She won't stay here

to wait for interrogation

with Wengu in trouble.

Nonsense!

Duanmu Cui is a suspect.

She's involved in a murder.

Considering the situation and reason,

she mustn't leave.

I'll take full responsibility.

You've never

mixed your personal interests with your job.

I'm willing to be punished.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Enough.

From today onwards,

you'll recuperate here.

You're not allowed

to handle the case.

Sect Leader Duanmu.

Can you cure the poison

on High Immortal Wengu?

Normal medicine couldn't help.

I didn't know what poisoned him too.

How can I cure him?

What about Penglai?

Will they have a way?

If Penglai

knows about Wengu's situation,

he'll be in trouble.

I'll handle it.

Take care of Wengu.

Peach blossom branch?

Could the raid of prison

be related to Hong Luan?

You're thinking about Hong Luan?

Look at your wound.

Are you tired of living?

Stop looking.

I'll bandage it up.

This...

What divine peach blossom is this?

Nothing happened

when the coal struck it.

Hong Luan originally is a peach blossom.

The peach blossoms she plants

will not wilt

even if it's broken.

It's her.

What?

There's a mole in Xihualiu.

Duanmu is in danger!

Yan Yan!
