[The Princess Weiyoung]

[Episode 51]

Greetings to the prince.

Master Central Attendant.

By His Majesty's oral decree, from tomorrow onward

all matters regarding the mutual trading treaty

will be discussed in the inn with an assigned official.

Unless summoned, Your Highness is not to leave the inn.

May I ask what this is about?

Could it be...

Am I under house arrest?

There's been some unrest in the city.

Your Highness is an honorable guest of Great Wei.

His Majesty has Your Highness's safety at heart.

I believe the King of Rouran wouldn't object to His Majesty's concern.

- You... - Your Highness.

Please have your men make the arrangements as soon as possible.

Your Highness convinced His Majesty to put Prince Yuan Lie under house arrest.

Without Prince Yuan Lie

Prince of Gaoyang is as good as without an arm.

It will be more difficult for him to accomplish anything in three days.

But we still can't let our guard down.

Yes.

I've already carried out your orders as instructed.

Do you like it?

It's for you.

How do you know that I like this?

When I was little, my mother made this for me.

It's good that you like it.

If there's anything that you'd like to have, just tell me.

Really?

You're not lying to me?

But earlier on, Father threw a huge tantrum about Li Wei Young.

I didn't know anything about it!

You must have kept something from me.

I see.

You did keep something from me!

You're all so mean!

Why would we keep you in the dark?

It's just that it's best some matters are not made known to you.

What exactly was it about?

It's best that you don't ask about it. Be good.

No!

If you don't explain it to me today, don't you dare leave this place!

[Prince of Nan-An's Manor]

Let's go.

- Take a look. Have you seen this person? - Have you seen this person?

You! Come here.

Have you seen this person?

Come and have a look.

Have you seen her?

- No. - You! Have you seen this person?

- No. - Have you seen her?

No, no...

If anyone holds back any information, you will be killed!

Have you seen this person?

- No. - No.

What should I do?

Leave now.

- But... - But what?

If His Majesty finds out you're alive, can you still survive?

Go now!

Is that true?

Did Prince of Nan-An really cause the death

of my brother, the Crown Prince?

I worried that you wouldn't take it well, so we didn't dare to let you know.

How is that possible?

How is that possible?

Brother Yu was always very friendly to the siblings.

How could he have killed Crown Prince?

I know you find it hard to believe. We did too.

But this is the truth.

How should Jun do about it?

He's the murderer of his parents.

I'm afraid...

Tuoba Jun won't let this go now.

Moreover, even if we choose not to get to the bottom of it

Tuoba Yu won't let us off anyway.

Your Highness, you mustn't meddle in this matter anymore.

Just pretend that you... that you don't know about it.

But...

I received His Majesty's imperial decree today.

From tomorrow onward, I'll be under house arrest at the inn.

Under house arrest?

On what grounds?

Do they have other intentions?

No! I have to go to Father!

I'm all right.

This must be Tuoba Yu's trick.

He convinced His Majesty to do this. It can't be changed that easily.

Moreover, being under house arrest actually keeps me safe.

It's just that I won't be able to assist Wei Young and Tuoba Jun anymore.

You're still very worried about Wei Young?

Of course.

She's like a sister to me.

My sister for life.

I know that she's your sister.

Since she is your sister, she is also my sister.

Don't worry. I'll take good care of her.

How brazen.

Are you married to me?

How is my sister also your sister?

Li Min De!

What do you mean by that?

You said it!

You said...

What did I say?

You said...

All right.

I did say it.

We will always be together.

We will never be apart.

[Crown Prince's Manor]

Tuoba Jun.

I'm your wife.

How can you do this to me?

His Highness gave strict orders to forbid anyone going in and out.

Tuoba Jun.

Are you going to keep me here until I die?

How ruthless you are!

Your Highness, we can't just sit here doing nothing.

We must avenge the general.

Even if I sacrifice my life, I will assist Your Highness.

Do you think that I want to be trapped in here?

Now that I'm totally helpless, what else can I do?

Seek refuge with Prince of Nan-An.

We can't even step out of the door.

How can we seek refuge?

Don't worry, Your Highness.

Those are but a few guards.

I can handle them.

Wait here to hear from me.

Who is it?

Li Min De.

What are you doing here?

I still haven't received any news of Wei Young and everyone else.

I wonder how they are doing.

If they still can't find the evidence, Father will surely execute Wei Young.

Don't worry.

Tuoba Jun will protect her.

Just like I will protect you.

Revoke the case? As if it were that easy.

Tuoba Jun.

I'll crush you.

Cheng An.

Keep a close eye on this matter.

Find out as quickly as you can about the presiding judge of this case.

Whatever it takes

we have to gain absolute control over the re-trial of this case.

Yes, I'll definitely do my very best.

Now that Tuoba Jun has locked up Li Chang Le

it is easier for him to overlook the person he thinks he has control of.

I'd never dare underestimate a woman.

Especially one burning with hatred.

She is capable of doing anything.

I need you to do something else.

Your Highness, Hong Luo seeks audience.

It seems that I won't have to contact Li Chang Le.

Let her in.

Yes, Your Highness.

Hong Luo greets Master.

Don't you only regard Chiyun Nan as your master?

General is already dead.

I'm willing to surrender to Your Highness to avenge the general.

[Minister of the Imperial Clan’s Manor]

It seems that Tuoba Yu got here before we did.

It's fine.

We still have this.

Do you think that His Majesty's re-investigation of

the Crown Prince's case can be concluded?

It has been years.

Much evidence and many witnesses are already gone and dead.

It's hard to predict how the case will conclude.

But right from the start

we never expected much from a re-investigation.

We only did so to distract Tuoba Yu.

We have to be more thorough and more cautious.

Nothing can be overlooked.

I see.

The clues often lie in the details that we overlook.

Wei Young.

If we fail to find any clues...

Wei Young.

I'll get you out of Great Wei.

No.

I won't leave.

I want to stay with you.

Don't say such silly words anymore.

Tuoba Jun.

What is it?

Look. A piece of jade is missing from here.

[Account Record]

Subject Zhou Ming reports to Your Majesty.

I've been investigating secretly for years.

It's been verified that Crown Prince's so-called account record of his bribes

was fabricated by Allowance Petty Officer Yuan Yi.

Yuan Yi is Prince of Nan-An's trusted confidant

who vanished without a cause.

I recently tracked down Yuan Yi's whereabouts

but little did I expect him to be silenced by Prince of Nan-An.

Before his death, he confessed that Crown Prince was indeed framed.

Yuan Yi's handprint and the real account record served as the evidence.

I was afraid to expose Prince of Nan-An.

Your Majesty, please empathize with me and uphold justice for Crown Prince.

Your subject, Zhou Ming.

He was innocent...

My father really was innocent!

My father was framed by Prince of Nan-An.

With this report and this account record

I can expose Tuoba Yu's conspiracy to Grandfather.

There's no time to lose.

Let's go to the palace right away to report this to His Majesty.

[Jinggong Gate]

Greetings to Your Majesty.

Do rise.

Jun.

You came at such a late hour?

Is it very important?

Zong Ai.

- Step out. - Yes.

Grandfather.

I have now found the evidence to prove my father innocent.

I hope that Grandfather will severely punish the mastermind behind the case.

You've found the evidence?

Grandfather.

This account record and report will prove that

Tuoba Yu is the mastermind behind framing my father for corruption.

Minister of the Imperial Clan had the record all along

in order to redress the case.

However, little did he expect

Tuoba Yu to order Chiyun Nan to wipe out his entire household.

Grandfather, please look into it.

Tuoba Yu...

Treacherous son!

How dare he frame Crown Prince!

He took so many innocent lives!

He's devoid of humanity!

Crown Prince...

I've wronged you.

Grandfather, please clear my father's name.

Arrest Tuoba Yu right away!

I'm going to kill him!

Your Majesty, you mustn't!

What did you say?

Your Majesty, Tuoba Yu now holds great power.

Should Your Majesty order him arrested so recklessly

it will surely make him raise in rebellion.

Get up.

You're right.

Unknowingly, I have allowed him to attain so much power and influence.

I've always thought that he's humble, modest

calm, loyal, and compassionate.

Who knew that he's deceived me all along?

Grandfather.

What we should do now is lure Tuoba Yu into the palace

before he's informed of this matter to arrest him.

Once we take down Tuoba Yu

his aides and confidants are not to be feared.

I will leave this matter entirely to you.

Once you take down Tuoba Yu

I have to ask him how he could be so cruel to Crown Prince

when he once treated him so kindly.

Yes, Grandfather.

In order to prevent unforeseen issues

I'm prepared to lure Tuoba Yu over to arrest him at midnight.

I'll go and get ready now.

Stay in the palace.

Send me a message should anything come up.

I think that His Majesty is fairly traumatized by this matter.

I'll stay by his side to comfort him.

Thank you.

So much has happened.

Fortunately, I have you by my side.

You must be even more cautious.

I'll wait for your return in the palace.

Once this is all over

I'll ask Grandfather to bestow marriage to us.

We will be together forever.

I will hold your hand.

Together, we will grow old.

Greetings to Your Highness.

It's already very late.

Where is Master Central Attendant going instead of attending to His Majesty?

I noticed that His Majesty isn't quite well

so I'm heading over to the imperial kitchen

to prepare a calming decoction for His Majesty.

You really are so faithful to my grandfather.

It's no wonder that he thinks so highly of you.

How about this?

I'll send someone to inform the imperial kitchen.

You can head back first to attend to Grandfather.

I'll trouble Your Highness then.

I will take my leave now.

Your Highness.

From this moment onward

you must keep a close eye on Central Attendant.

He must not contact anyone.

If he voices any objection, just tell him that it was my orders.

Yes, Your Highness.

Do you suspect Zong Ai?

Not exactly.

It's just better to play safe during such a critical time.

[Crown Prince's Manor]

Before dawn, Grandfather will summon Tuoba Yu

to negotiate state affairs to lure him into the palace.

We will arrest him in one go.

We shall avenge my father and those numerous innocent lives that were taken.

Your Highness.

This day has finally come.

Even so, we must not lower our guard.

In order to prevent his subordinates from rebelling after his arrest

Cheng De.

You are to visit the Commander of the Imperial Guards right away.

Although Grandfather has already given orders

some matters will still need meticulous planning.

Yes.

But Your Highness, Tuoba Yu holds great military power.

If he resists the Imperial Guards...

Then we'll have to get rid of Tuoba Yu first to lower the morale of his army.

Also, send some men over to Prince of Nan-An's Manor to monitor him.

Report back if anything comes up!

Yes.

Your Majesty.

Have some calming decoction.

Get some rest soon.

How could I fall asleep?

My distrust in Crown Prince killed him.

I should know better than anyone else what Crown Prince was like.

But when there was evidence that implied Crown Prince was harming me

I was taken in so easily.

I valued my throne more than my own son.

I'm such a heartless man.

But Your Majesty is still a good ruler in the eyes of your people.

Your Majesty unified the fragmented north and saved your people from war.

Your Majesty cleared political corruption

amended the law, promoted agriculture

and advocated Confucianism.

These are all greatly beneficial to the people.

To everyone

Your Majesty's achievements still outweigh your errors.

Do you really mean what you said?

I'm not the only one who thinks so.

All your achievements will be recorded in history.

Stories of Your Majesty's valiant deeds will be passed down

and remembered for generations.

This woman.

You always have a way to cheer me up.

Do you not hate me for how I treated you?

Just a bit.

Perhaps about that much.

Just this much?

Your Majesty.

I'm not an ungrateful person.

Your Majesty could have killed me to prevent any further trouble.

However, Your Majesty spared my life again and again.

You even took my suggestion to free the people of Liang from slavery.

How could I possibly hate Your Majesty?

Moreover...

Moreover, Your Majesty has always been the one

Tuoba Jun respects and loves the most.

If I hated Your Majesty, he would surely be very upset.

What was between you and Tuoba Yu?

Your Majesty.

There really isn't anything between me and Tuoba Yu.

Before I knew of his true colors

I once regarded him as a friend.

But who knew...

It seems that it was just his wishful thinking.

You showed no interest at all.

I was the one oblivious to it and even vented my frustrations on you.

I've been on this throne for too long.

I've been flattered by everyone all day long

so I thought that I would never make any mistakes.

I harmed Crown Prince and nearly had you killed as well.

Your Majesty, now that you have ordered Tuoba Yu arrested

it is also one way of upholding justice for Crown Prince.

If Crown Prince knows about this, he surely won't blame you.

Your Majesty.

You mustn't think too much about it.

It's getting late.

Take this calming decoction and get some rest soon.

Your Majesty, read it tomorrow.

Get some rest soon.

Have our men hide there for an ambush.

Await my orders.

Yes!

Your Highness.

Go and get ready.

- Yes. - Yes.

Your Highness.

How is it at Tuoba Yu's?

Nothing happened. It's all fine.

Good.

Tomorrow morning will be Tuoba Yu's execution day.

[Jinggong Gate]

Master.

Is His Majesty asleep?

Yes.

I'll go in to take a look.

Yes.

It's you!

No thief is harder to catch than the one living in your house!

I never thought that you'd betray me!

Your Majesty, I...

Your Highness.

His Majesty summoned you to the imperial study.

The morning court session will be soon.

- Do you know what it is about? - I do not know.

- Lead the way. - This way please, Your Highness.

This way.

Father.

Why have you summoned me?

Arrest this man!

Tuoba Yu!

It's proven that you framed Crown Prince Jing Mu

and ordered Chiyun Nan to carry out the massacre!

His Majesty ordered that you be locked up in the Imperial Dungeon!

Take him away!

Imperial Attendant Li.

Is His Majesty still asleep?

His Majesty is still asleep.

- Let me take a look. - Yes.

Your Majesty, it's time for the morning session.

Your Majesty?

It's the morning...

Jun...

You're still too young and naive.

Did you really think that you could take me down so easily?

Tuoba Yu...

Restrain Tuoba Jun!

Is this a rebellion?

Jun.

I'm going to defeat you eventually.

Do you know how you lost to me?

Your wife betrayed you.

Before dawn, Grandfather will summon Tuoba Yu

to negotiate state affairs to lure him into the palace.

We will arrest him in one go.

We shall avenge my father and those numerous innocent lives that were taken.

Grandfather won't let you off!

I'll go to see Father now.

I'm sure that he will observe the situation accordingly

and abdicate willingly.

You're not to hurt Grandfather!

Take him away.

I've won.

Finally, the world shall now be mine.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Anyone there?

Anyone there? Hurry!

Summon the imperial physician!

Yes!

Your Majesty!

Your Highness!

His Majesty...

What happened to Father?

He...

You concealed yourself so well at my side.

I actually didn't even notice!

Speak up!

Who are you working for?

Speak up!

I...

- I... - Say it!

I... I serve Prince of Nan-An!

You...

You killed my father?

I didn't mean to.

I had your interests at heart!

Spare me, Your Highness!

Spare me, Your Highness! Your Highness!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty?

It was...

Zong Ai.

He...

He serves Tuoba Yu...

Your Majesty...

I...

I... pass my throne to Prince of Gaoyang.

Tuoba Jun.

I should have believed you and Jun sooner...

Your Majesty?

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty has passed away!

Your Majesty!

Imperial Attendant Li!

Prince of Nan-An is charging in with his soldiers!

It was you.

You ordered Zong Ai to assassinate His Majesty!

You killed the emperor and your father! You'll die a tragic death!

Li Wei Young!

Watch your words and actions.

Otherwise, you will get more people killed.

Let go of me!

Monster!

Let go of me!

Take her away!

Yes!

Take good care of her.

Father...

Rest in peace.

In no time... I will unify the north and the south.

I will build the great empire of the Tuoba clan.

I...

I will definitely prove to you...

That I'm your most outstanding son.

Your Highness?

Your Highness!

You're in a daze again.

What is it? Are you troubled?

I woke up from a dream abruptly last night.

I can't help thinking that something bad is about to happen.

Don't think that.

Honestly, I don't want Wei Young to be harmed.

But if Wei Young is fine, doesn't that mean my brother is in trouble?

Your Highness, you have to tell right from wrong.

Tuoba Yu carried out so many despicable and inhumane deeds.

Shouldn't he be punished?

You can't let him off just because he is your kin.

Am I right?

I was just saying.

Do you have to preach to me with such an air of righteousness?

I'll apologize then. I'm sorry.

What are you trying to do?

Is this a rebellion?

Yuan Lie colluded with Tuoba Jun to raise a rebellion.

Take Yuan Lie dead or alive!

Yes!

Stop it!

Stop it!

Stop it!

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

My prince! Take the princess away!

[Enxian Gate]

Li Chang Le?

What are you doing here?

What is this place?

This place?

This is your palace hall.

I'm waiting for His Highness... No.

Once His Majesty takes the throne

I'm the Princess Protector.

Li Wei Young, you never thought this would happen?

It was you.

You betrayed Tuoba Jun.

Tuoba Yu suddenly launched an attack, so the news must have been leaked.

You did it!

Exactly.

It was me.

Do you know what you're doing?

Do you know how many people you have killed?

So?

Better them dead than me.

If I didn't do so, would Tuoba Jun have pardoned me?

Will you let me off?

Who will pity me then?

Do you think that you can have it your way?

You won't!

You and Tuoba Yu revolted against the ruler!

He killed the emperor and his own father!

You will suffer retribution for what you did!

Retribution?

Only losers would look to the gods' retribution.

Li Wei Young.

You lost.

You were all totally defeated.

Now that the entire palace is in the hands of His Majesty

that includes Tuoba Jun.

Tell me.

Who will suffer retribution sooner?

- You... - Do you want him dead?

You claimed that you love Tuoba Jun.

You don't even care about his life now?

Don't talk to me about love!

How much have I suffered for his love?

What then?

I will never be that childish anymore.

I won't ever love again.

From now on, I will only live for myself.

You killed his mother.

You have done so much to hurt him and yet you sound so justified?

You're devoid of humanity!

Li Chang Le!

Step out.

Your Highness.

Why would you waste your breath on her?

You should wipe them all out to save you further trouble.
